Hello! I'm new to these forums, but I am not a new roleplayer. Call me Roman or Bless, either way. Please jump in, I have the introduction both long and summarized. 8-10+ lines per reply/per character please, and basic rules apply; respect, kindness, no god-mod, etc. Jump in as whoever.whatever you'd like!
Long version (Short version below)
There was no better home for the myths and legends the humans have ignored for centuries. Of course, they knew the Mythicals lived here - but the humans were weak, puny and afraid of them all. They are powerful, but peaceful creatures, and many of them could take human form themselves. The Flying Home was a sanctuary for these creatures - a huge island the size of Asia, rich in greenery and hovering a mere all-mile above the surface of the earth. Lush foliage and vivid forestry, fondly dubbed Dragons Nest, covered one third of Flying Home, another third was reserved for high-tech, much more advanced than any puny human technology; Faerie City. The air was clean, the water was crystal.
Then, the last third of the island - Gem Ocean. Here, there was what was seemed the impossible. Priceless jewels washes ashore from the lakes waves, glittering on the fine sanded beach. Perfect spherical gems and precious stones grew like coconuts on palm trees, their bark formed of glittering, microscopic minerals. The water itself shone like a flawlessly cut saphire, and beautiful homes splattered the cliffs above the lake that was a good 3/4 of Gem Ocean. Beautiful. Seamless. Flawless. This is where the new Hatchlings were born - giant eggs washed ashore, and it was the current Flying Home residents to ensure the new hatching, whatever species, found the living space Faerie City grew for them. Flying Home was alive - it knew when another Mythical was coming. It prepared them a home in Faerie cCity for them, where they would be most comfortable. And yes, that means the apartments buildings actually grow.
Gem Ocean is where Zanezza was Hatched. Zazzy - the very last Night Faerie, with skin as pale as cream and smooth as silk. Eyes like obsidian, flecks of ruby red ringing her pupils. Lips full and soft, the color of white-washed strawberries. Her hair curled into tight ringlets of moonlight, mimicking the flawless gleam of liquid mercury, a silver so vivid it outshone the most stunning moonrise. Her body, while slim and fit, held curves that could bid any man into bed if she desired. Zazzys nails were long and elegant, and grew naturally jet black.
But the most stunning feature of Zazzy were her wings. Out of all the winged creatures of Flying Home, hers were the darkest. They are what human children fear at night, what the human mothers and fathers close their doors to. Her wings were nightmare mirrors - literally. Shaped like the Common Jezebel butterflies wings, they could could do two things. If Zazzy so desired, they could become reflective like mirrors, front and back. However, if Zazzy felt the need to, they could become the most terrifying thing one could ever lay eyes on.
There was a reason Zazzy was called a Night Faerie - her wings could cause such fear in the heart of their beholder, but no one could tell what they saw. They can't look away. They can't run. They are forced to watch their worst fears and terrors flash through her wings, surrounding their hearts. Anyone and everyone who looked at her wings suffered a dire chance of falling into true insanity.
But this is for a later time. For now, let us reflect to her hatching day....
(Shortened version)
Flying Home - one third forest (named Dragons Nest forest), one third city (called Faerie City), and one third impossible (Gem Ocean). The forest was thick, bright, and welcoming. The city was the same way, and it was magically brought to 'life' so that it would know when a new Mythical (Residents of Flying Home) were going to come in, and magically grow another home for them. Gem Ocean in the most sacred place - a beach with gems instead of shells and magic washing with the lakes water.
When a new Mythical is born, a giant egg is washed onto shore of Gem Ocean. The current residents of Flying Home are responsible for caring and helping the new Hatching for a few days before letting them into their new home. Of course, there are some bumps in that road.
When Zanezza (Zazzy) is hatched, only a few Mythcals helps her because she is a Night Faerie. Her wings can either become mirrors, or show you your worst fear/terror untill you go mad. With black eyes flecked with ruby, liquid-murcury hair that curls into ringlets, and nails that grow naturally jet black, she is quite an odd-looking character.
~~~~~~~~ (Starting Post)
Gem Ocean was as beautiful as ever - the saphire beach glittered and gleamed, the gems shone and shimmered. But, that wasn't why the dozens upon dozens of Mythicals were there, ranging from dragons to satyres to more humanoid Mythicals - Elementals, those who could bend elements, 'kinetics (telekinetic and the likes), no others.
The reason they were there was because of the egg. It was huge! The size of a small car, it had washed up on a giant sea shell. It was happed like the average chicken egg, tapered gently on one end, but it was a creamy baby blue with black smears. And it was cracking. Tiny slivers fell from the outer shell, and a thick, black tar-like goo was dripping out. A few of the clustered Mythicals shifted nervously - none had seen any Faerie egg hatch with such dark substance.
Suddenly, the side of the egg burst open, letting the thick matter slosh out along the shell and the sand. Coated in sticky black goop, Zanezza was born. She reached up with a shaky hand, pulling tar-like matter from her hair and face. Silver hair glittering like a million diamonds dipped in pure Mercury reflected light like a thousand flawless diamonds, her obsidian black eyes glittering with ruby glints. Her silky white skin was bare, save for a shimmering layer of black fabric draped over her body to sheathe her most precious parts from sight. Her wings hung limp from her spine, and it took a few moments for them to fully firm and the sticky black matter to slide off. The surrounding Mythicals were silent as she flexed ehr wings, and many of them gasped as they saw their reflections vividly outlined in them.
"She's a Night Faerie," A satyre whispered before bolting away, back into Dragons Nest forest. Many of the other Mythicals also ran away, abandoning their duties to teach and care for the newly hatched. Only a few other Mythicals remained to help the Night Faerie to the home prepared for her in Faerie City.
They were among the few who remained.
The short, lithe woman without color took a few steps forward as she brushed her long hair back over her shoulder, examining the product of the egg with her own pale eyes as she moved herself down on one knee, moving her hands forward to steady the new Hatchling. Her thin lips curved to a smile, revealing the narrow, triangular fangs that lined her jaw. She flicked her translucent wings twice before speaking. "Welcome home, little one."
She was of the wilds, preferring to stray through the winding woodland alone. She'd only come to the shore at the beck of her responsibility to the new egg. As soon as the new Faerie was settled, she would return to roaming aimlessly. Her milky skin bared the brunt of her adventures, portions of it appearing torn and revealing the swirling nebulaesque energy the coursed through her, keeping her animate. She was commonly known as a Starry Faerie, the name being drawn from the unusual sight their skin hid from sight until opened and scarred.
The other, more hesitant was male. He was of average height, but not nearly as muscularly-built as the Starry. He stayed where he was, still trying to accept that the new Hatchling was of the Night. This would make her upbringing a little more difficult, and he was mentally trying to adjust their usual methods to fit her... uniqueness. He was fairly surprised to see the Starry approach the Night, as he'd known her for some time. She disliked being in the presence of others. The only times he saw her was for new Hatchlings and if she'd injured herself. He was an Arcane Faerie, and he'd focused his craft in magic into healing spells and other remedies, partially why he was here - to make sure the new Hatchling was healthy.
As the Starry spoke her greeting, he snapped back to attention. He couldn't be shocked, she needed them to be attentive and welcoming. He gave a small nod of agreement, taking a small step forward and kneeling as well, though he was still a little more distant than the Starry.
He would be one of the first. Cameron had wanted to do this for so long. To venture into a world his people would never even consider as a side option. What they feared, he wondered. Some called him naïve, which could be true, he called it "bewilderment". While he knew death could fall upon him quicker than a sprinting cheetah, it was a risk he was willing to take. Confidently clutching two cased instruments in one hand, he looked around to absorb the wonderful sight. He had a long way to go to find whatever he sought. Even he didn't know what that thing was. All Cameron knew was that he was going to visit the creatures that most denied of their existence. Wearing an old, white shirt with ragged, black pants that hid pink flesh that was burn scars on his legs, he knelt down on one knee to check his bag of supplies: lots of water, healthy foods, his phone, and some extra instrument things, as well as sheets of music. Of course, two more instruments were inside the rather large bag. Sliding the large object over his shoulders. The people in his village thought he was even more insane to go without a map. He wanted to see what the creatures were like with his own two eyes, and no was no longer going to be an answer for him. With glossy, pompadour hair of dark brown, topped with a blonde color on top, and hazel eyes of determination, he was ready to finally find the truth he had always wanted. He did not fear what he may see. He was always amazed by these creatures. So he wandered around in the forest that was told to be perfect in every way, shape, and form. A fantasy beyond a human's wildest dreams. Many gems worth value. That was not what Cameron wanted. All he wanted was to get a glimpse of their world, their inhabitants. And he would not let this opportunity slip from his fingers. So he wandered aimlessly, until his feet grew sore and almost unwilling to push forward. So the boy sat down on his rear, against a dull stone. He wanted to fill the area with life, of course, meaning his music. Slowly revealing his encased silver flute, with a golden rim where his lips would be pressed, the perfectly polished instrument was lifted up with Cameron's two hands. With peace in his mind and body, his eyes closed to rest, but his breath filled the air around him with the wonder and majesty that was music. He played a part of a song known as Greensleeves, a simple yet beautiful masterpiece by Alfred Reed. He memorized many forms, but this too easy tune held the most beauty, and the biggest story.
Zanezza lifted her head to look over the two Mythicals still there, hazed and a little dizzy. She seemed awful slim for a new Hatchling, her ribs a bit prominent.. Her egg was a little short on the proper nutrients, but she was healthy other than the slight malnutrition. "H-Home," She tried, her voice dropping from white-washed strawberry lips with a musical accent unique to the Night Mythicals. She blinked and cleared her vision, taking the Starry Faerie in first, then the Arcane. She shivered, the last of the tar-like substance slipping from her skin to reveal it was smoother than glass, yet still soft to the touch. Her wings owe red against her back, clumsily folding against her mostly bare back, reflecting the egg remains behind her.
"S-Starry Faerie," She stuttered, shakily reaching out and touching the Faeries face with an expression of awe. She dropped her hand and looked over at the Arcane Faerie. "A-Arc-cane," She stuttered again, shivering from the sudden chill outside her egg. A pretty smile stretched her lips a little, and she reached out towards the male cautiously. New to Flying Home, she was unaware that she was a taboo creature - even one to fear. She was awestruck by these fellow Mythicals, her wings fluttering excitedly at the idea of her new home.
Her pointed ears twitched suddenly, and she looked away, listening intently. What was that beautiful noise. "S-Sound?" She stammered, puzzled. Music. Cameron's music. She looked at the Starry and the Arcane, and swallowed nervous. "C-Can we follow?..." She trailed off, her vocabulary not quite advanced enough to express what she needed quite yet.
Well, she appeared cognitively adept. She was communicating a little faster than most new Hatchlings adapted to. The Arcane was hesitant at that. Her intelligence would let her learn more quickly that she was unwelcome. There wouldn't be much time before her naïvety faded and she learned the truth about how the Flying Home would view her. Would she become bitter like the Starry? It was something that saddened him somewhat. Seeing her shaking, he pulled the downey cloak from around his shoulders, uncovering his own wings - they didn't appear to be physical, more they were two wing-shaped lights emitting from his back - and, taking another step forward, placed the cloak around her, pulling it so that she was completely covered save for her head. He'd noted her malnutrition, but something like that wouldn't be difficult to fix, just a little time and good food and she'd be where she needed to be.
The Starry smiled at the Night's words, though part of it was the Arcane had stepped in and started helping too. She'd been about to ask if the new child new her name, but she heard the music too, and she stopped. There weren't any Mythics here today aside from those who had been responsible for the Hatchling. She stood quickly, her eyes scanning the jewel-littered sands. She feared something dangerous lurked nearby, something that could pose a threat to the new Night.
"Julian," She spoke to the Arcane. "Stay with her. I will investigate and return." She began to advance toward the sound without waiting for him to reply. There were a number of beasts that were followed by music that skulked through the woods, their ominous tunes stunning potential prey into a paralyzed fright. She would not let the new Faerie be hunted so soon.
The Arcane watched the Starry move further and further away. He was a little anxious about begin left on his own with the Night, but she was still new. She was still without reason to be malicious. He turned his attention back to her, doing his best to keep his tone even and calm. "Let her find the source. Do you know your name, little one?" He asked.
Zanezza seemed to struggle for proper terminology for a moment as Julian slipped his cloak around her. Her shivering subsided as warmth enveloped her, and she blinked a few times to process the words. "Th-Thank you?...." She stammered, questioning the choice of words as they dropped from her lips hesitantly. She ran her hand along the warm fabric, noting the texture and movement of the fibers.
She blinked as she watched the Starry Faerie whisk away, longing to find the music as well. She looked back at Julian, her onyx colored eyes slowly fading into a warm red - matching the flecks that were already there. It wasn't a creepy color, but warm and inviting. She blinked a few times, and stuttered a few syllables. "Z-Za.... Zan-ne..." She paused and carefully placed the sounds together on her tongue, before taking a breath to continue. "Za-ne-zza," She grinned a little bit, her eyes sparkling with her first triumph.
(I'm sorry it's so short....)
"Zanezza?" Julian echoed to be certain he'd heard currently. Watching her responses to everything around her, he was still going through his list of precautions, noting each one as they no longer became a concern. She'd heard the music before the rest of them, her hearing might be above average, and watching her eyes focus easily from the Starry to himself told him she wouldn't need glasses or have any issues with her vision. She didn't seem to have any issues registering cold from heat. So far, it seemed she wouldn't have any issues aside from the world's distrust and skepticism for her kind.
"My name is Julian." He introduced himself. "The Starry is Valkoinen. You're going to be living with us for a little bit until you're ready to go out on your own. Do you know the name of this place yet?" He asked. It was a little uncommon, but he'd seen a number of Hatchlings in his day that already knew the names of the various areas that made up the island.
The leaves hesitated before twitching. The boy paused in his playing, before realizing it was just the fact the stone he was leaning against moved ever so slightly. realizing the time it was - based on the color of the sky - the tunes of beauty faded, before the source was sealed away once more in the black case. Spiders tickled his scarred legs, in which he decided to make sure they were securely covered. He had no tent or source of shelter, other than a dark crimson hoodie he pulled out of his backpack, placing it over himself, the hood down and out of his face. Light from the celestial body above kissed and brushed his skin, tapping his eyelids and fingernails. A cold shiver went down his back, out of excitement for the next day, and fear of his safety overnight. He smiled softly to himself, puffing a breath of sigh. However, something told him that he would want to be up for a little longer, just in case. He then shifted himself to straighten up against the stone, pulling out a sheet of music, harmonizing the tunes with his voice. He had hoped that at least something would take a kind interest, and be amazed by this.
It turned out he slowly sang himself to sleep. Barely able to keep his eyes open, he tucked away the music into his pocket, where his hands soon followed. He slumped over, closer to the ground, staring into the abyss of the night, where the woods called his name. He was too tired to move much more, breathing in heavily as he turned to one side.
But wait - did his ears cast a spell on him? Did they betray him? He thought he heard something. A voice, a step, whatever it was. It was a sign of life, he knew. To avoid any danger, he stayed put, hoping that his racing heart would be satisfied with discovery.
((I was trying to find words to put together and I am watching some of the danganronpas...because my brain needs to cool lol.))
Zanezza nodded to confirm he heard her correctly, her impossibly reflective silver hair swishing. She listened to his name closed, blinking once, her left ear twitching slightl to better catch his voice. "Ju-li-an," She echoed, her musical voice slowly growing more confident, a little stronger. It was no longer weak, but still softer than a kittens fur. After nodding to show she understood she would be living with them for a little time, she looked around since he asked if she knew where she was, what this place was. Her ears perked up and her pupils shrank just slightly as she listened all around, picking up the shuffles of new gems being pushed ashore and sand shifting.
"Gem Ocean," She placed a hand flat against the shell she was born on, the black subtance disappearing into thin air. She angled her gaze to the dense forest several yards away, her ears twitching as she expanded her hearing. She pointed at the forest with one finger, her nails jet black and glossy. "Dr-Dragons N-Nest forest," She stammered, then tipped her head, letting her hand fall back inside the cloak as she stretched her hearing, picking up the sounds of Faerie City far, far away. "Faerie City," She pointed in the direction of the high-tech city, then her ears fell still and her pupils expanded into normal sizes. She smiled innocently at Julian and drew a clumsy circle in the sand in front of her with one finger, splitting it into thirds. "Flying Home," She announced, pointing at the drawing. She clearly meant it to be a chart of the Flying Home.
The Starry traveled a fair way across the sand, carefully stepping over the brilliant gemstones as she quickly advanced on where the source of the sound had last come from. Her steps were deliberate, and her eyes drew in what light there was to search for any threat that might linger near by. She'd spent a long time fending for herself in the wilds, so between herself and the Arcane, she was better at combat. She'd learned to be territorial, to defend herself and Hatchlings from everything. She was even fairly hostile toward other Faeries, whether or not they were just curious or an actual threat.
Now her eyes fell on the brightly-colored cloth lying on the beach by the rocks. Despite the stillness, the shape of it betrayed there was something living hiding inside. Immediately she glared, narrowing her eyes and shifting her stance as though preparing to attack. "Make yourself known!" She ordered.
--
Julian gave a small nod at each of her statements, letting her know she was right. Had it really been too surprising that the Hatchling had been born with knowledge of the island already? It really wasn't the most unusual thing about her. He offered a small smile, turning his head in the direction Valkoinen had left, wondering what was taking her so long. He didn't hear the music any more, and he grew concerned she didn't seem to be returning yet. She could handle herself, he knew, but he was still uneasy with caring for Hatchlings on his own.
After a short pause, he looked back at the circle she'd drawn in the sand. "Right. Can you stand up? Do you need help?" He checked. It wasn't unusual for a Hatchling's first steps to be supported by one of the Mythics that accompanied their birth.
Hearing the clash of angry winds from the voice of the Starry, Cameron's hazel eyes woke completely. At first, he thought it was a police officer or guard. He sat up, unknowingly, with his hands visible in the air. The sand dappled his clothes, the stones and pebbles falling out of his hood. "I apologize for-"
Immediately, he paused. What he saw amazed him. A creature like no other. He was simply amazed. He had no words for a long while. Soon realizing the creature saw him as a threat, he put his hands up higher, away from his body. Fingers zipped, the moon placed a light hand on his forehead.
"I am no threat, I can guarantee. I am a human." He answered with a lighthearted chuckle, trying to keep calm. He never really lied, there was no point. Especially now. "My name is Cameron. With a C." He explained. Slowly, he tipped his head. "Were you fazed by my song from my flute, perhaps? Do you hear music often?" He was getting a bit jumpy, so he closed his lips tight. He was not afraid. He was not too excited. He was amazed that he was able to interact the way he was. "I guess...if you want proof I am human, you can attack, I suppose."
Even he himself didn't know what he was saying, or why. It didn't benefit him. Well, at least hopefully he would be trusted that he couldn't do any arm, at the very least. There was a fire in his eyes; not of hatred, but confidence.
Zanezza carefully pulled her bare feet under her body, shakily standing up and keeping a hand cautiously on what was left of her egg shell. Of course, it was the steadiest of braces she could have used. It crumbled as she tested her weight, making her squeak in momentary panic as she froze, her wings fluttering under the cloak as her heart jolted from her first near-fall, cautiously balancing on her feet with her eyes wide, the irises flooding black as she felt her heartbeat rocket, unable to walk steadily alone. She tried a cautious step off the shell, only to fumble and cling onto Julian as she nearly fell. She weighed even less than what she looked, but that may have been because she was a Night Faerie - their bones were hollow like a birds, making them lighter.
As she clung frightfully onto Julian's arm, eyes wide in anxiety, it was aparent that she was short for a faerie. Her wings fluttered under the cloak again, mimicking her fear. "S-S-Sorry," She squeaked, letting go of her weak grip on Julian's arm to try and step again, only to stumble and nearly fall again. She clung back onto him, her heart racing as nerves made her breath quicken.
"How did you get here?" The Starry demanded, her eyes still narrowed. As far as she was aware, there weren't any human settlements here on the island. If there was one here, there had to be more nearby. She'd learned that humans were as termites, where there was one there was probably many more until the structure they'd nested inside overfilled and fell to ruin. If they were starting to settle on the Flying Home, she'd personally drive them out to protect the wilds, her home, and the other Fae.
She took a few angry steps forward, closing the distance between them and gripping the neck of his coat in her clawed hands. "Where are the rest of your party?" She demanded.
--
Julian's eyebrows knitted in concern and his expression softened slightly at her apology. For all his worries and concerns, she was still as an infant would be; new, uncertain, and innocent. He shook his head, offering something close to a smile. "It's nothing to apologize for, you're doing well." He praised, holding his arm to keep her supported and placing his free hand on her head in an encouraging pat. "You'll be able to move about without help before you know it. Soon enough, you'll be flying."
"I walked here alone." He answered calmly, despite his chest rising and falling at a quick pace. A warm breath surrounded the icy cold air, his eyes were bright like the light shining down. He knew she was angry - anyone would. Which is why he did not bring anything that could be used as a fatal weapon with him - not even a knife.
"Party?" He questions in confusion, ever so slightly stuttering when the Starry's grip rested on the collar of his coat. He knew he'd have to answer wisely.
"As much as you may not believe me, I came here alone." He replied. "Believe me, if I wasn't the only one brave enough to simply catch a glimpse of everything, I'd not be here alone, nor in this situation at that." He pointed out. He was implying that if there were others with him, he'd have a better place to sleep, withe a fire, and if there were others, they would be at his aid at this point.
All he could do was slightly smile. "It's amazing, seeing you. Seeing this place. I have the option to photograph, but what purpose would that serve?" He slightly starts talking to himself. He gets back onto subject.
"Anyway, my claim still stands." He smiles, showing some teeth as sweat slowly drops off his face. "Though I am offering peace, I also request it."
At the sight of his teeth, the Starry showed her own two rows of sharp teeth. If other Faeries had seen the smile, they'd have recognized the smile, but she'd been in the wilds for long enough that she recognized teeth as a display of aggression before a smile. It took her an extra second to recognize the actual gesture he meant to make, but she'd already responded with hostility. "You'd best turn back around and walk back to wherever it is that you came from." The Starry hissed. She'd say she wouldn't trust him as far as she could throw him, but she could probably throw him a fair distance.
With an irritable flick of her wings, she pushed the human back, releasing his collar and letting him fall back. If the music had really come from him, there weren't any predators to worry about, but his presence was still a threat to the Hatchling. If Faeries didn't wouldn't want her around, a human wouldnt' react well to her either.
"Interesting...you bare fangs of a lion, I see." He examined, blinking frequently. He sighed, keeping a steady gaze with the Starry's. "I'm not going back. Not yet. I didn't wait this long just to walk away from someone like you."
He didn't address her like his family would - as a thing. He addressed her like he would anyone else. It would show respect and equality, proving his case that he wasn't as fearful as many others were.
When she released him, Cameron was surprised. His back hit the sand, as it flew like dust and fell like snow. His pants legs slightly went up, almost to his knees. Slowly pulling them back down, he once more revealed his flute, playing a simple note and holding it out for a moment, before carefully placing it away.
"That should be the sound you heard. It was only me. Whatever it may be you want to protect, that is fine. Though I have no intention of doing anything other than sight seeing. I'm like a fish who wants to climb a tree, when everyone else I know judges me." Cameron chimed, spreading his arms out as he gazed up at the sky. "If it makes you feel better, I'll evens stay put here."
"No!" The Starry hissed loudly, her translucent wings buzzing in a flurry, kicking up a cloud of sand behind her. "Begone!" She spat, "This beach is precious, and your presence is a threat to all who wander here! Leave this place and go back to your own land. I'm not the worst thing on these sands, and if you don't leave now, I'll make certain the others find you, and send you back to your home in pieces."
She wouldn't tell him this beach was where new Faeries hatched, nor would she speak of her responsibility to guard and keep safe the Hatchlings who tumbled out of the fragile eggs. She feared that knowledge in his hands would endanger them, both the new Night further up the beach with Julian and the future younglings that had yet to wash ashore. She shifted her stance again, digging her heels into the sand as she stood ready to attack again. She couldn't afford to offer any trust, no matter his demeanor.
His scarred legs slightly shivered due to how sensitive they were as he stood up. Seeing the sand flare up made his coat slightly stir. He was confused by her words, but making a stand here would be pointless.
"Trust me, I won't be leaving because of your threats. Which means I won't be going home yet either. However, if this beach is precious, then why not compromise?" He questions, placing a horizontal hand in a shrug position. "Is there a place somewhere in which is a land that isn't deemed important? Please don't be sassy and say wherever I came from." He requested, closing his eyes and sighing.
"I know I'm only bringing more doom to myself here, but with even this amount of knowledge I never even asked about be dangerous for you? Especially if I returned home?" He pointed out. However, while he knew his people wouldn't believe him likely, he feared for their lives should the Starry decide to kill them off. Of course, it was a distant theory.
"That being said, if there is a place you know I can reside and not bother any of you, at the very least take me to it." Cameron asks the wondrous creature. "It would be better for you to guide me than me accidentally stumbling upon something you wouldn't want me to." He spoke his thoughts. The air coiled around his neck like a snake as his whole body shook for a small moment. His breath grew thin and shaky, he was tired and not in the best condition.
"I value my life, but not so much to run from morals. I am only trying to make it safe for the both of us, without a prisoners dilemma occurring." He shook off some of the sand. "Trust me, if I wanted to go back, neither us would be here, now would we?"
What was he going on about... Still, if he was at least willing to move off the beach, perhaps she could direct him elsewhere, at least for now. She still didn't like the idea of a human lurking around, but the beach had to be her first priority. She pointed a finger at the flute.
"Take your instrument and go there." She pointed to the woods of the Dragons Nest. "I haven't the time to escort you myself, I'm needed elsewhere for an important task. There's an empty thatch hut not far from here, just move straight through the trees and follow the trail. Play your instrument as you go, and do not stop until you are at the hut." She ordered. The hut was her own, so she knew it was empty, save for the wild cats that came and went as they pleased. They weren't large enough to pose a threat to a human, they might mistake him for a fae creature anyway since they weren't the most intelligent of animals. She'd been away from Julian and the Hatchling too long. She needed to go back.
Surprised by her response, he gently gripped the instrument in his hand. A hut close by? Somewhere that he could sleep without a chance of rain? This was beyond him.
"I understand. I'll sustain the same note that is low enough to not draw attention, but high enough to hear." Cameron promises, trying not to provoke the Starry. He grabbed his belongings and drew the weapon of peace to his lips, testing out the note. It played beautifully, and so he carefully walked without any bumps in the sound as she directed. The human trusted the mystifying creature, and was astonished by her words.
He only had to take two quick breaths along the way, finding the place he believed to be the hut. Slowly entering, he noticed how empty it was. He definitely owed the creature one, even if she was not so happy.
Playing two staccato slightly higher notes to signal he was there, the sound ceased and his instrument was sealed away in the case to be placed in his backpack. He huddled to a corner and placed his bag in front of him, bringing his knees up to his face as he placed his hood over his head at last, closing his eyes.
There wasn't much for furniture in the building, only a few shelves, storage crates and a worn couch, the cushions too thin to offer any sort of comfort. The Starry didn't use it for much except when she needed to store something for later. Right now, the crates were empty, and the only decoration on the shelves were bits of moonstone from the beach, something the Starry found pretty and hoard-worthy.
Once the human was out of sight, the Starry turned, beating her wings to rise off the ground and she darted back across the sands to where she'd left Julian and the Night Hatchling.
(I'll have to wait for Blessing now)
(Sorry, guys! Crazy thing happened last night and I had to run. I'll try not to vanish without warning again!)
Zanezzas eyes were still wide, her ears twitching with nerves as she desperately clung onto Julian's arm, shivering slightly as her heart rate slowed to a steady rhythm. Her unease seemed to grow as he praised her, but it seemed to be more of a shy unease than a panicky version. She blinked as her patted her head, her impossibly bright silver curls springing. She nodded at his words, then her eyes lit up, the black slowly draining from her irises to a pale, pale mint green, finally revealing her feline-like pupils, wide in excitement. Apparently, the Night Faeries eyes could reveal their level of emotional distress. "Flying?" She repeated, her voice steadying out a little. Zanezza jumped a little as her wings fluttered again behind her back against her will, and slowly, she seemed to be able to control them better, folding them neatly against her mostly bare back under Julian's cloak. Looking up as a drop of water fell on her head, Zanezza blinked as the sky was darling than before at her birth.
Another droplet landed on her cheek, making her jump and zip a hand to her face to gently wipe it away. She stared at the drop of rain on the back of her hand, letting it slide down her wrists. "Rain..." She trailed off, her ears twitching and perking up as she looked out at Gem Oceans shore, where near-black clouds seemed to be gathering and making their way quickly closer. "Storm. Lightning..." The Night Faerie trailed off again, brows furrowing as the light flashes across the sky. A loud clap of thunder had her jump, almost colliding with Julian as her eyes widened.
Julian gave a nod when she echoed 'fly' back to him. He felt a few raindrops fall upon his head and he turned his face up toward the sky a moment with a slight frown. He hadn't anticipated rain tonight. Well, no matter, they could make it back to the one of the buildings near the beach before it got too bad. There were a number of buildings set up for new Hatchlings to rest, grow, and learn in for their first few days and when they were ready, it was incredibly easy to move them to the City. They hadn't been there too long, but so far they'd been useful, especially for situations like this.
As the lightning began to arc across the distant skies, he nodded again at her words. "Come, we'll wait for Valkoinen in one of the Hatchling houses." He told her, patting her back above her wings to calm her.
The Night Faerie nodded, shivering a little at Julian patted her spine above her wings. That area was sensitive of Night Faeries - where their wings were connected to their nervous system. She hesitantly supported a little of her meager weight on Julian's arm as she clumsily made her way towards the Hatchling buildings a little down the beach, her eyes taking everything in as she cast her expandable hearing all around, absorbing vocabulary from Faerie City as well as general information about Flying Home. However, she didn't stumble among any negative feelings towards her race yet, but that may have because she was shocked back into reality by the sudden downpour.
Zanezza squealed as the sky suddenly unleashed buckets of water onto the pair, making her wings shiver and twitch with pain as they were weighed down with water. Her eyes bloomed back into jet black as her heart beat picked up - even for a Hatchling, this small Night Faerie seemed to be jumpier and more nervous than most. Once they reached one of the buildings, the door swung open and lights blossomed on, showing a simply but warmly decorated cottage interior. Flying Home had welcomed the Htachling and one of her teachers into the small home, greeting them. Zanezza stumbled in with Julian,her hair, wings, and clothes soaked. Her vividly pale skin seemed even paler from cold, her eyes wide as she shivered violently. With a tiny click, a blazing fire erupted into life in the hearth, washing the room in warmth as the door shut behind the two.
(No worries, I'm safe. I had to be rushed to the hospital because I was coughing so badly. Turns out, minor lung infection. I have antibiotics though and some steroids (legal x3 ) so I'll be okay. ^~^ )
(Downloadz, I don't meant to separate your character from the rest of the rp. Feel free to wander the beach and find your way to the Hatchling house or something to get yourself back to the group.)
(Bless, I'll post in just a bit, I'm on the phone with a friend.)
