hello all! welcome to my little plots place. I've been in a romance mood recently, probably because the Notebook was on TV the other day and I can't resist watching it. But honestly, who can? So if you think you'd be interested in role playing with me, let me quickly introduce myself. You can call me Rave, or Wolfie, or think of something else creative. I have a few guidelines (I don't like to think of them as rules, but I guess you could also call them that) for what I look for in a role play partner. So let me explain those below.
guidelines -- please be active, I know sometimes life can be stressful and such, but please try to reply multiple times. I am usually on at night, as days are busy for me, since I do work. If you're mostly a day-roleplayer, and nights are not a great time, this might be a harder place for you to role play at. -- help progress the plot. while these are 'simple' romance 1-on-1s, I'd like to make it more complex with other side characters. so please be willing to have background characters and have the plots move quickly. -- I'd like this rp to be at least semi-advance. I'm not going to require five paragraphs, but I won't stop you if you want to! I'll can keep up with you in length. However I will miss a few commas, and all that fun stuff (I already have, most likely ) So don't worry about punctuation so much. I mainly want quality lengthy posts. However if you don't want to write that much, the minimum is a quality length paragraph. You don't have to give me a sample of what you can do c:
a few quick things, just to keep in mind - plots are first come first serve- lgbtq+ characters welcome- please keep PG & appropriate ( side note: if you'd like to rp any "sexy" scenes, you can PM me about it )
T h e P l o t sIntelligence is Sexy [ fxf ] [ age range ;; eighteen / high school ] Muse A is the star of the state champion lacrosse team, the pride and joy of the high school. They live, breathe, and sleep lacrosse, and it's their senior season coming up. The problem is, they're failing English. Which, they think is stupid. They already speak it, right? They shouldn't have to know Shakespeare or have to write persuasive essays? They're getting an athletic scholarship anyway, but not if they don't dominate they're last season. Unfortunately, they're English teacher refuses to give Muse A any extra credit or help, so they have to seek out Muse B, the resident "nerd". They make a deal, Muse A will, along with a good bit of cash, make sure everyone stops bullying Muse B if they help Muse A pass English. Which, should be simple, since Muse B loves English, it's their thing. Except, when when Muse A turns out to not be such a jerkface, dumb jock, and Muse B is actually pretty cool, their "studying" sessions begin to turn into something a little more. Will their senior year end in Shakespeare tragedy?
✦ Family Matters [ mxm ] [ age range ;; mid-late twenties ] Bad breakups have plagued Muse A for the past few years, making it seem like he'll never find the right guy. Finally deciding just to give up on love for a while, he goes on the annual family lake vacation he'd somehow wriggled out of for the past few years. He comes back to a place where he had his first kiss, his first love, and spent every summer growing up. Now as an adult, he finds it hasn't changed much, except all his extended family is a little grayer. Muse B, his first crush and perhaps first love, however, is a lot cuter and still in town, with his own family, which was always close with his own. But Muse B has things expected of him, and Muse A has a life elsewhere to go back to after the summer. But, they can't help rekindling the lingering feelings that still reside. Is it still just a crush and seaside fling?
✦
Sleeping with the Enemy
[ fxm ] [ age range ;; late twenties ] Muse A has been head of their company for years, taking over the family business after the sudden death of his father. The family Christmas party was the closest thing Muse A got to a social event that wasn't quite work related. The family, being old fashioned, and Muse A's mother being absolutely insane, she needs Muse A to find someone to marry, immediately. Especially since Muse A's younger sister wants to marry and their mother won't give her blessing until Muse A has at least a committed relationship. So, the hunt for a wife begins. It's a revolving door of women, and none of them really like Muse A, and if they do, it's because of his money and he can see right through it. Until his mother finally finds a Muse B, who is smart, sexy, funny, and a total surprise. Except, she's the head of the rival company. And neither have any idea if they can trust each other, or if their work will ruin a blossoming relationship.

{ alexander mercer } // { mercer estate & seastar restaurant }
The familiar click of heels on the polished marble floor was one of the only things Alexander had come to expect from Lilianne Mercer. His father said she'd never been sane and that's what he'd loved or hated about her, he'd never quite been sure. Philip Mercer claimed hate and love felt about the same to him, but Lilianne had definitely loved his money and all the style that came with it.
She had passed down her shock of flame-red hair down to her daughter, but not her son, and she usually had it coiled up into a tight ballerina bun, because she thought it made her look elegant and kept all the wrinkles from sagging. Her noon-sky blue eyes usually held a shimmer of malice that soured her expression that made Alex stiffen, never knowing if something sickeningly sweet would come out of her mouth or something biter and cruel, a double edged sword for whoever was on the other end. Alex had grown used to the "constructive criticism" by now.
Every time his mother flounced into his life, she brought with her a whirlwind of craziness that no one had enough time to deal with. Except this time, all of her efforts of trying to ruin his perfect bachelor life would most likely, eventually, be successful. They had to be, or else his head would end up on a spike outside the church where his sister wanted to be married at. Neither of the Mercer children quite understood their ma's obsession with having Alex married before Addie, she claimed it was some old southern tradition, but Lilianne was not quite southern. Maryland, was technically southern, but did it really count with all those "deep south" traditions, if that specific marriage one was even one at all?
He'd been on more dates in the past few months than he had the rest of his life, but he couldn't tolerate any of the girls for a second date, let alone a "committed, maybe even marriage" kind of relationship. Once he had one of "those", like Adelaide, Lilianne would finally let her marry Isaac, even though he'd proposed months ago. Alex hoped for some better girls, because he felt that spike getting closer and closer.
In his mother's mansion, which was really just a glorified house, he was waiting for her to come and give him the specifics on the next girl, and potential wife, as she said. Lilianne usually swept into the room in a fine dress and heels without a red hair out of place and blue eyes immediately scrutinizing the suit he'd worn to work and blue tie he'd chosen that morning. "Hmm, I like that tie. The color brings out our eyes," Lilianne commented, without even a hello, or how was your day? Alex took in a deep breath and tried to respond, when Lilianne held out a picture. "Her name is Lyra King, and you'll be meeting her at the Seastar tonight, seven-thirty. You're not usually late, unlike your sister, but I'll remind you anyway to not be late." Her bright blue eyes scanned over his dark blond hair. "Comb your hair, and don't scare this one off this time. She comes from a good, respectable family," Alex found himself running a hand through his hair, straight and golden like his father.
"Maybe you should start picking girls who don't want me for my money," He glanced down at the picture, memorizing the features. She was pretty, but of course, all of mother's girls would be. Can't have an ugly daughter-in-law, that would mean a chance of ugly kids. He stifled a sigh, and ignored her pointed huff and burning glare. He held the photo back out to her and she ripped it from his hands and he rolled his eyes. "Have a good night, Mother." He said, turning around and heading out of the house. "You better have an excellent one, Alexander!" She screamed after him.
About an hour later, his car rolled up the Seastar. It was an expensive restaurant, nothing but the absolute best, and it forced Alex to flaunt a little bit of the money he knew the girl surely knew he had. But, it was a beautiful restaurant at least. The floor were shiny hardwood and the walls were soft blue with the lights a gentle light, shimmers of turquoise and teal glinting from objects on the walls like antique treasure. The Seastar required a reservation, that Lilianne did, the master spider in all of the dating in Alex's life at the moment.
"Reservation for Mercer, but I'm waiting for a friend of mine." The host dipped his head and scurried away to prepare the table, while Alex waited for Lyra King to show up. Part of him hoped, perhaps she wouldn't show so he wouldn't have to suffer through another girl trying desperately to be someone she wasn't. The last girl did nothing, but try to show off the huge strand of diamonds on her neck. Alex rubbed the back of his neck, chewing on the inside of his cheek, as usual, a little nervous for the moment before his date arrived before he slid into the calm, lawyer Alex that made him so good in court.

(I used to live on the east coast but I was like 3 xD) (The sun is great unless you are a red head and burn like there is no tomorrow xD) (I mean the beach is like ten minutes from me which is pretty cool. ) (Your post is great <3 lol) Today was the day, she had been set up on a date with the Mercer boy. It wasn't as if she had really been looking for a man anyway, it just kind of happened. Lyra knew who he was, and had for a long time. After all it wasn't every day you forgot the name and face of your companies rival. The woman took a deep breath and let out a soft sigh, she had just won a case, one that she had been working very hard on. It didn't take long for her to get home. It was about an hour till her date, her cellphone rang loudly echoing throughout her silent house. The name read, Mercedes. A small smile pulled at the corners of her lips. "Yes, a date." Lyra said as she answered the phone. A loud squeal sounded after those words, the dark haired woman pulling her phone away from her ear. " You don't have to do that you know, its not a big deal." She rolled her eyes as she put her on speaker and began getting ready. "What do you mean not a big deal! He is like the bachelor of the year. And he is soooo rich!" Mercy's laughed echoed loudly and she squealed again. "I'm pretty well off too Merc." She said with a small laugh, she applied her makeup, she had to look the part right? She had to try tonight. Not that Lyra really needed too much makeup, like everyone she had her flaws. But over all she was rather pretty. Her hair was long, black, and naturally curly. Of course they were tamed curls, thanks to her hair care routine. Her skin was sun kissed, but not dark. And her eyes stood out the most out of all of her delicate, regal features. They were a very pale green, but that wasn't all, in that pale green were bits of brown and blue throughout the pale color. They were her favorite feature. Really the only one she prided herself in. "I don't need his money, or him for that matter." "Oh shut it, Lyra. You know he is dreamy." Her friend said, and the dark haired woman could just picture the eye roll that came with it. "Anyway, have fun tonight! And tell me exactly how it goes!!" With that the call was over, Lyra shook her head and continued to doll herself up. About thirty minutes later she was done and dressed. She grabbed everything, meaning her purse with the few items she was going to need and was gone. The Seastar. One of the nicer places in the city, of course that would be the place that was chosen, had to make sure he was spending enough of his firms money. The woman almost giggled, he was spending money he took from her firm, on her. The irony was sweet. Her pale green gaze scanned over the place, she had never really been here, just drove or walked past it. Then her eyes landed on him. For a moment she was drawn in, he looked nice. But she shook that from her head, most rich boys did. Hell she looked just as nice, in her quarter sleeved almost mermaid style dress. It was a soft pink, almost white color and fit her like a glove. Just because she tied her hair up and put on those pencil skirts and blazers didn't mean she didn't know how to dress like a woman. The tranfomation was actually a bit surprising, even for herself. "Mr Mercer?"

{ alexander mercer } // { seastar restaurant }
Accompanied by the sound the door opening and the brush of cool air, his last name came through the murmur of the other patrons of the Seastar. It came soft and slightly questioning, and he turned to face, who he assumed was Lyra King. Her picture, which had come from her work, had done her no justice. Her hair fell in a waterfall of inky curls, rather than scraped back away from her face in a ponytail or bun. They framed her elegant face, and her soft pearly pink dress only made her sun kissed skin look more luminous. Alex blinked, he wasn't quite expecting that dress, and his eyes drifted over her body. It wasn't a workplace dress, but it certainly wasn't one he expected to see her in. It showed off her body while still leaving much to be desired. "Yes, Miss King?" Alex smiled faintly, and he reminded himself that this was a date and not a business meeting. Although he thought she was a lawyer? That's what his mother had said. The reason he didn't realize she was from a rivaling firm was because Alex wasn't usually involved in dealing with other lawyers who were usually on the same side for clients as he was. He never went against Lyra, his firm and hers just fought over clients, and he left that to his partners usually. He held out his hand to her, as the host reappeared. He gestured for the two to follow him back, but not before gawking at Lyra. They were led to a table in the back of the restaurant in front of a tall, slim window that overlooked the quiet backstreet and the sea and docks could be seen from it. The night was cloudy and the rain was falling heavy now, slicking the streets with a hazier quality, the streetlights casting silvery glow onto the small rivers in the streets that hadn't had a chance to drain yet. Alex pulled out Lyra's chair for her and pushed it in gently before sitting down. "May I start you both off with a glass of wine?" The host offered a bottle in his hand, but Alex shook his head. "No thank you, none for me, but if," He trailed off to Lyra, and glanced down at the menu to keep from staring at her. "I'll just have water," He added quietly.The restaurant had low lighting, the candle on the table flickering up to cast soft shadows on her face and make her eyes look more mysterious, the delicate light loving her curls and dancing on the velvet black of them. He flipped it open and scanned, having literally no idea what was good here. He'd never been much of a drinker, it caused a lack of control in Alex liked to be an iron clad fist around. He tended to say things he shouldn't, almost like the wine was a truth serum to his brain and loosened his tongue to things he'd rather keep private. A trait he must've gotten from Philip Mercer, because Lilianne just went absolutely batshit crazy on alcohol. Last Christmas party, he shuddered inside. She'd had all the photos burned from that particular event. Addie was the same, if her college days were any indication. "So, Lyra," Dang, he was really bad at this whole "getting to know someone thing." His hand slid through his dark blond hair, and his pale blue eyes lifted to hers. He couldn't quite tell what color they were, they seemed to be shifting colors with the light. Everything he thought to ask seemed really stupid, superficial, and lame. "Sorry, not very good at the date thing." He admitted, glancing out the street. "You look beautiful," He said, realizing he probably should have said that earlier, but it was genuine. She was beautiful, at least on the outside.
{ elle morgan } // { the school library }Confidence was never hard to find for Elle. It always seemed to be brimming from within her, ready to overflow and spill into every aspect of her life. It wasn't hard for her to fake it when she didn't feel it, she'd had plenty of practice. But right now, it felt like her well of confidence had been drained and dried up by a hot summer sun, even though it was still chilly from winter outside. She bit her lip and ran a hand through her ponytail and draped her long hair over one shoulder. The double doors of the library stood in front of her and she took a deep breath, reached out and opened one door and stepped inside. For a girl who had never really felt small in her life, being tall and athletic from the time she was nine, she suddenly felt intimidated by the tall shelves of books towering over her and the immense quiet that surrounded her. She was so used to yelling on the lacrosse field, to the shouts and laughs of her home, and the bubbling chatter that followed her around with her friends, that this silence felt like it was about to collapse her lungs.
"Stop being dramatic, Elle. It's just a library. Full of books and knowledge you don't care about, but you need to or you don't play lacrosse." Now that thought might actually collapse her lungs, and it was the only thing that kept her from running out of the library. She bit her lip and rolled her shoulders back, she'd get better at English with the help of Nia Myers. She was a nerd that had been bullied by Elle's friends from pretty much elementary school. It never really went past the school walls, and it wasn't constant, but she was an easy target. Oh how her friends would freak out if they saw Elle now. They all thought she had to go babysit her youngest sister which was why she couldn't hang out. Elle's 'boyfriend' was the worst one, and Elle wasn't really that into him. The more she thought about it, she wasn't into any guy, but she never thought that deep about it. She hated kissing him, and it never went passed it, keeping up her reputation as a "tease".
Whatever, she was here to learn about Othello or something. Elle wiped her sweaty palms on her jean-clad thighs and wandered through the library to the back table where they agreed to meet. Elle had arrived early to allow for a little freak out about needing help at English. She pulled out her thick spill of reddish caramel colored waves. It was chilly in the library, making her regret wearing just a black cropped tank top and a thin, fake red and black flannel. She untied it from her waist and pulled it on anyway, but the buttons didn't do up, since it wasn't meant to be actually worn. She wished she'd just worn her sweatpants and sweatshirt, but it wasn't lacrosse season so she had no excuse yet. Her dark eyes scanned the library and she shuffled, buzzing with nervous energy and unable to sit down. She turned off her phone and stuffed it in her bag, her English binder on the table already and she started to pace. She couldn't sit still for any long period of time without daydreaming or getting restless. Might as well get it all out now. That was probably the reason she was failing English. She couldn't keep her focus, being as it was her second to last class of the day.

(I'd be terrified of it too! That sounds pretty scary) (LOL I'd be all orange XD cant see were my hair ends and my skin begins XD) (I just woke up so forgive any mistakes I make > . < )
Her gaze lingered on him for a moment before a soft closed lipped smile danced across her face, "You can call me Lyra." The woman said shifting a bit. She pushed a loose curl behind her ear, half of her hair was pinned up in some kind of make shift part up-do. Thanks to the bouncy curls it worked and no one would know she just shoved a bunch of bobby pins in her hair. As he spoke she couldn't help but swoon a little, he voice was just what she would have expected, strong and firm. Just like she had imagined the head of his firm would have. It was like they had to have that kind of voice for people to respect you.
Of course her voice was soft, for someone who ran a company. Her harsh side only came out during work. But this wasn't work, this was a..date. Snapping herself from her thoughts as the host returned. Again the same smile crossed her face, this time is was followed by a small dip of her head as she took her offer to walk. Lyra could feel the host's eyes as he stared at her. The only time she really was stared at was in court. This wasn't something familiar to her, or at least she had never paid any mind to it. When her chair was pulled out for her she smiled, this time the near perfectly straight teeth were shone. "Thank you." She said, this also was new to her, fine dinning, someone who seemed to be a gentlemen. Everything made her a bit nervous. 'Just have fun, be nice.Be yourself.' She reminded herself before turning to the host. Her hand moved up and she waved it slightly. "Oh; no thank you, I will have a water too if you don't mind." It was a tempting idea but she wanted to have her wits bout her. Not that she didn't trust him. Well maybe it was that. He did run the rival company. But is was business right? Her internal convincing did nothing to make her trust him more though.
He wasn't bad looking at all, in fact he was exactly Mercy had said he was, dreamy. For a moment she looked him over, the light made his blonde hair take a more golden tone and his eyes were nearly breath taking. The crisp blue color met her own ever changing eyes, and she felt warmth in her cheeks. Luckily makeup was her friend. Hearing him speak she laughed softly at his admission of not being good at dating. For someone known for his confidence and skill of taking her clients, he was awfully nervous. "I'm not any good at it either." The woman said laughing once more, it was a nervous laugh. Just because she was thinking about how nervous he was didn't mean she herself was any less nervous.
The compliment only darkened the color of her cheeks, now it could be seen, even if only a little. "Oh, thank you. You look very nice as well.." Her voice only grew softer toward the end of her words. Again that small nervous laugh escaped her lips as she looked down, then out at the street. "This place is beautiful, do you dine here regularly? I have never been here personally, but I've heard nothing but good things." Smooth Lyra, change the subject. It's a date after all right? They have to talk about something, they couldn't just sit in awkward silence ogling each other for the rest of the night. Though she would enjoy looking at him for a good deal of time, that wasn't what this was about. You were supposed to talk to your date right? If she remember correctly that was how this thing worked. Talk about them, talk about yourself. Find out if you like them or not. If you can tolerate them.

{ alexander mercer } // { seastar restaurant }
Part of him doubted that Lyra was bad at dating. Although, their line of work tended towards late nights and rain checks, he was sure plenty of men had propositioned her for dates, and he wondered how many she'd said yes to, and if he'd asked her in person if she'd said yes to him. He couldn't quite get a read on what she thought of him. "Thank you," He said softly at her own compliment, and paused as their new waiter came and dropped off two water glasses, and he lifted it to take a sip, to get the dryness out of his mouth. "Actually, I have never been here, either." He glanced around, putting his hands together. The tables were spaced far apart to allow for privacy and the dim lighting made it hard to see the other patrons. The flash of a diamond bracelet there, a shiny bald head here. But no one was really of note, so Alex turned back to Lyra. "but my sister loves it, so she recommended it. Her and her fiancee love this place and come here often." He chuckled, thinking of Addie with a shake of his head.The two could not be more different, almost as if they were from two different continents sometimes. "I figured a small pizza joint would probably not be the best choice for first impressions," He joked with a faint smile, showing a glint of his white teeth. It was partially a joke, although had it really been up to him, he would have probably been more comfortable somewhere like that. But despite Addie and Alex's differences in their personality, they couldn't be closer. He thanked his lucky stars she'd recommended this place or else he might've ended up at some fancy, uptight french restaurant where he couldn't pronounce or eat half the stuff on it. That had been his mother's first choice, and he'd persuaded her that the Seastar was just as respectable and had much larger and much more edible food. Family, that seemed like a common topic to talk about, right? "Do you have any siblings?" He asked, tilting his head slightly. Maybe her family would be less crazy than his, although it would be pretty hard to top Lilianne.
