Chase's backstory: His Moving On
Here I am, back with the second part to my story of life. My lack of activity to this is due to my life at the moment, much better then it used to be, just as you're about to find out. Though how difficult this is to write, and hopefully how difficult it is to read if I did this correctly, I hope for you to think of this as a story of resourcefulness and hope. From my experience, hope is the driving force of success and in my case, survival. If you think you'll fail, you will and vice versa. Well, before I bore you with my quotes and lectures of hope, let us begin.
Now, not long after my family were killed, about a month later actually, I decided that I would move away from the city, to a new place that hopefully would bring me better luck, or a different life. Honestly I had no idea what I was looking for in this move, but I did it anyway. Of course I was only six so my mind wasn't exactly wise enough to make any good decisions, though I was sharper then a homed person, and like I said earlier I had hope that I would succeed, so I did. It wasn't easy mind you, and I had to work hard to get here. My first move in this was figuring out how to get there in the first place. I decided to drive as it was quick and easy to learn, in my mind of course. Then again, I didn't have a car did I? Well take things one at a time I say. First stop, the library, as it was the only place I can get to use the internet. I'll save you the reading, and skip that part as it is rather boring. Next, the gear so no one can detect me on cameras and eyewitnesses. I decided most of the stuff I needed I could find at any cheap clothing store, provided it has changing rooms. Quickly I sourced one and went there. I remember every detail of that, and I was in and out in a matter of a few minutes with a black hoodie, black jeans and black shoes. The next part was actually surprisingly easy. I just waited at a gas gas station for about half an hour for a car to arrive and the person to leave it unlocked while they go inside to pay. When that happened, I was immediately in the car and leaving. I ‘m sorry that I can’t continue, but it’s starting to get late, and I now have people to cook for, so I need to go, I’ll continue this later.

The Last Brother: Niko's version - by S'more.
“Life often is not kind, it prefers to hurt, to kill, to damage you,
However you cannot let it, for then it would win and you would loose,
Do not let life beat you, because you are so much stronger than you know,
Fight it, survive through it, prove the world wrong, because that’s what it is, and you are right.”
Nikolas leaned back in his chair, putting the pencil down as he looked at the pages of paper he had stacked upon a pile. It was poetry, truly it was…however he often found himself needing to take breaks while writing, otherwise…he started to remember.
What did Nikolas Mike Walters, otherwise known as Walter Melone to the publishing world, remember?
He remember the past and what he had been through in his 27 years of life.
You see, Nikolas had not lived an easy life, he was taken from his home in Russia at the young age of three, he was experimented on, turned into a creature known as a hybrid, which of course was a human/animal cross. He was a black and white ruffed lemur hybrid.
Though it was at the labs where he had met his brothers, Kai, a gentoo penguin hybrid at the time, and Ty, a long haired tuxedo cat hybrid. Of course there had been more as he grew older, by the time he and the other two were seven, a young two year old Eurasian red squirrel hybrid by the name of Norman had joined their brotherhood.
For a time, everything was good, that was until Kai acted out against the scientists, they all got punished for that.
Finally, after seven years of putting up with torture, the four brothers escaped, though their journey was far from over, they faced many more trials after their escape, and eventually they included another into their brotherhood, a bluejay hybrid by the name of Indigo. Though that was short lived really.
Later, they had also been joined by four orphan, human girls by the names of Margo, Jai, Sia, and Olive. For a time, life had been good. Nikolas even found love in an African wild dog hybrid by the name of Juno.
But of course, for every time there is peace, a storm soon follows.
Olive was soon taken from them, she died too young and far too soon, and soon after her, Jai followed. Then it wasn’t long before Sia joined her sisters in death. Though for Nikolas, that was just the start of his long list of losses.
Juno soon was expecting, they would have six children on the way…only for all six of them to die soon after birth, Juno couldn’t take it, she left. Then, after months of being away, she returned, only to die a few months later.
After all that, a war started up, Nikolas had long forgotten what it was about, all he remembered was that he and his brothers fought in that war, Ty especially was at the front of the line. He took control of many situations and lead their side of the war to victory.
Only to die in one of the last battles of that war.
The brothers were devastated, Kai vowed to take revenge for Ty, to find the killer and kill them no matter what, Norman closed himself off, diving so deeply into his work that he often forgot to take care of himself, and Nikolas….he fell quiet.
Loosing the others had been hard, yet loosing a brother, who had been apart of his life for the last 19 years…it was truly devastating.
Kai did eventually find the killer, and after two and a half years of looking, he got his revenge. Kai killed the person who had taken his brother’s life, however…at the cost of his own, which was another toll on the two brothers left.
Norman especially had taken loosing Kai hard, the 18 year old hybrid learned how to fight, and he brought back something that should have been left to history, for you see he had started up his mother’s work after almost four years of being dormant, he brought back the organization known as Wings.
It was different this time around, for Norman was in charge and he would not experiment on any hybrids…humans of course were a different matter, after all it had been humans who had taken most of his family away from him, he cared nothing for them…and who knows, they might even help him learn how to fix problems hybrids had.
Nikolas however, became more broken, he and twelve year old Margo stuck with Norman, and Margo got invested in his work, becoming an excellent second in command for him, as Nikolas was too shaken up over his losses to do much, in fact it was around that time that he started to publish his poetry.
Now Norman’s work got him in deep waters with plenty of dangerous people and far more enemies than friends, he had often expressed how it was like chess, and everyone were the pieces, except…at the moment he was playing without an opponent.
That lasted three years before finally someone tried to put a stop to his work.
You can’t play chess without an opponent, and many opponents did Norman face that year, yet no game lasted long, Norman always won…until, he didn’t. A human took him down, killing him in the process.
Margo fell apart, Nikolas shut down. Yes by the end there Norman had been as twisted and dark as his mother, yet he had still been family, and he had still been loved, at least by Nikolas and Margo.
Soon they were the only ones left, Margo vowed revenge for Norman, and Nikolas…he had thought of ending it a few times before Margo finally realized that out of all the people that needed her most, it was Niko, and at least for the time, she had put her quest for revenge aside to take care of her depressed brother.
A half a year passed and that brings us to the present.
Nikolas could still remember his last conversations with each brother.
He had spoke to Ty right before entering battle, Nikolas had to stay back to watch over Margo, but he could remember what he told Ty before he had left.
“Ty, you don’t have to go,” Nikolas told his brother, who had grown out his hair again, having it in a short ponytail, he looked like a mess…well he looked like he had been in a war, and that was what this was.
The cat smiled over at his brother, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder, and for looking so worn down, he still seemed to have that sort of patriotic, determined look to him. “Yes I do, besides, we’ve basically won this, they need me out there, and I intend to fight for this until the bitter end,” he explained, a sort of unexplainable fire in his eyes. “Don’t worry Niko, I’ll come back, just like I always have, I promise.”
That had been the first time Ty had ever broken a promise, and it had been the last.
Nikolas closed his eyes as the memory faded, a new one replacing it. This one was his last conversation with Kai, who had not been as well off as Ty.
“Niko, I don’t think I’ll be home for awhile…remember how I had told you I…I found Ty’s killer?” Kai asked over the phone, his breathing harsh.
Nikolas nodded, even though he knew Kai could not see, he and Norman were out, avenging their brother, Nikolas had injured himself and was forced to stay behind with Margo. “Yes, have you killed him?”
There was a pause before Kai answered. “Yeah, I killed him, but…he got me too, Norman’s still catching up…I don’t think I’m going to make it, Niko I’m dying,” as he said that, Nikolas nearly dropped his phone….no, not another. “I have to go, the phone’s battery is almost dead and I need to save my breath for when Norman gets here…but Niko, just know that I love you, okay?” He asked.
Nikolas nodded again, his voice breaking slightly. “I love you too, but Kai you are not going to die, Norman will save you-“ he paused as the connection was cut off…he could only hope that his brother would be okay.
He wasn’t.
Kai had died and Nikolas hadn’t been there, just like how he wasn’t there when Ty had died either, and to make matters worse, he hadn’t even been there when Norman died either.
“You don’t understand Niko, what Margo and I do is for the good of the hybrids, very few humans aren’t horrible, however most are, and what we’re doing is what they deserve and it’s helping hybrids, why can’t you understand that?” Norman asked, he had grown up quite a bit from before, much taller and much more fit now, he looked quite good really.
Nikolas looked down. “I just don’t want you to get hurt,” he explained.
Norman’s gaze softened as he looked at his brother and hugged him briefly. “Don’t worry Niko, I know what I’m doing, I’ll be back tonight, but I have to go now, Margo and I have some business to take care of, see you soon,” he promised before walking out of the room, Margo at his heels.
Nikolas stayed where he was, for some reason he had a feeling that no, he would not be seeing Norman anytime soon.
The man went rigid as he remembered being told by different people each time that his brother had died, first Kai had to tell him about Ty, then Norman had to tell him about Kai, and then last…Margo had to tell him about Norman.
It was all a bit much to handle and the man soon found himself crying softly, this was why he needed to take breaks, or else he remembered the things he wished to forget.
Soon a fit looking sixteen year old girl entered the room, her short brown hair bouncing slightly as she walked. “Niko…Niko it’s alright…it’s just another memory,” Margo comforted as she patted her older brother’s back. “It…it’s just…just another memory,” she said, her voice trailing off as she fell quiet, a haunting look in her dark blue eyes.
Nikolas snapped out of it and looked up at her. “Margo?”
She nodded, giving him a bittersweet smile. “Yeah Niko, it’s me…” Margo glanced over at the paper. “How about we go for a walk, some fresh air could do you some good,” she explained and helped him up. “Maybe we can even go and get a treat,” she suggested.
Nikolas nodded, looking a little bit lost as he stood up and Margo started to lead him outside. “Yes…fresh air, that…that might be nice,” he agreed.
Margo nodded encouragingly as she opened the door and lead him out, promptly closing the door behind them and taking the blanket off his shoulders…he was far too young to have such old eyes in her opinion. She still needed to avenge Norman, for she had lost all her family too, however right now, Nikolas needed her more.
He had lost more than her, and she had lost a lot, she had lost her sisters, her brothers, and her love of her life, yet Nikolas…he had lost his children, his wife, his sisters, and his brothers. There had never quite been a connection like the one the brothers had had, and Margo doubted there ever would be again.
She lead him outside, taking in a breath of fresh air as she glanced up at him, what did you do, to help the man who had lost everything? How did you fix something so broken? Margo was beginning to believe: you couldn't.

The Last Brother: Kai's version - by S'more
“Thank you all for coming, and have a good rest of the night!” Kai walked off the stage as the clapping continued, well that was another show done with, he was going around the world, see Chamo was going on tour.
It was a good excuse to find the ------- -------- who had killed his brothers, all three of them had been killed, and those stupid, idiotic, -------- thought they could get away with it. Kai was going to prove them wrong by killing them and everyone they held dear.
He took off his Chamo mask and placed it down on the drawer in his dressing room, he had hired a crew to work with him long ago, and considering he was making quite a lot of money, hiring them had been no problem. Over the seven years of playing Chamo, it was quite easy to say that the character had become quite famous, and not just as Chamo, but Kai as well.
He was a hybrid celebrity, and he loved it.
Why? Because it was the perfect cover, and it made for a great day job.
Kai paused slightly as he looked into the mirror in the room and he couldn't help but change his appearance slightly so it looked almost like Ty.
The brother that had started the entire thing…and the first one that Kai had lost.
He remembered it well, it had been two years after they escaped from the labs, there was a war going on…he and Ty were leaving to go fight in another battle, one of the last in the war actually. Ty had spoken to Niko before hand, they would have spoken to Norman as well, but he was undercover at the moment, a double agent for the other side.
Kai looked into the mirror as the flashback began, he remembered how it happened all too well.
Ty had that look on his face that was usually followed by him doing something brave and incredibly stupid. Kai didn’t like it one bit. “The sniper that keeps taking out our men, Kai can you pinpoint where he’s coming from?” Ty asked, looking over at his brother.
Kai paused, putting down his own sniper rifle for a second to look over the battlefield before he spotted a glint hiding in the bushes on the other side and quickly pointed over there and Ty nodded as he got up.
“I’m going after him.”
The chamguin paused. “Ty, he’s gonna see you, I’ll get him, camouflage myself, you stay here where you aren’t gonna get killed,” he told him firmly.
Ty thought it over before shaking his head. “No, Kai, you’re slow, you’ll never get over there fast enough, cover me, I’m taking him out,” he explained and before Kai could argue, the cat had already started over and Kai sighed before getting the rifle ready again and he fired.
He continued to fire at all the enemies, causing enough of a distraction for Ty to make it over, hopefully he took the guy out and took care of this, they needed to win, it had been far too long since they had began.
It wasn’t long though before he heard a yell of pain…Ty, that was Ty, almost instantly Kai camouflaged himself and darted over to where Ty had gone, what he found though…was Ty, shot in the chest, and no sign of whoever shot him.
Kai could worry about that later, right now his brother was surely dying. He sat down by him and pulled his brother up slightly. “Ty…Ty, what happened?” Kai asked.
Ty coughed up blood. “There was two of ‘em…got shot, I’m not Norman…not gonna survive this,” he explained and Kai frowned, about to speak when Ty continued. “It’s okay though…I’ve lived a good life…and hey at least now that I’m twenty one, I can say that I legally drank before dying…there was some time there when I didn’t think I would be able to say that,” Ty explained.
Kai looked at him. “Ty…you…you can’t die, we need you, they need you…I need you,” he said, his voice breaking and Ty smirked slightly, his breathing getting shallow.
“You don’t need me, you’ll be fine-ahh,” he winced in pain. “- that hurt,” he muttered and Kai didn’t bother correcting his swearing. “Listen Kai, I…I love ya bro, I love Niko, Norman, and Margo too, can you…can you pass that on to them?” He asked.
Kai nodded, his eyes staring to water.
Ty smiled. “Good, also… you win this war for me Kai, you win it and you kill that son of a ----- who killed me, okay, I wanna greet him in ----,” he explained.
Kai nodded again. “Don’t worry Ty, I promise…I will avenge you,” he said and Ty nodded along as he closed it eyes.
That had been the last he had said, and Ty died in Kai’s arms, though that wouldn’t be the last brother to do that.
The war was won not long after, and Kai had found the person who had killed Ty, and he had killed him, it had been bloody, and it had been gruesome, and if you asked any one of the brothers, they would have told you that he deserved it.
Kai shook his head, that was all done and over with, he had avenged Ty, and he had enjoyed doing that…however sadly, Ty had not been the last of his brothers to die, at least he hadn’t died in vain like Nikolas.
His appearance changed again, and soon Kai found himself looking at someone who almost looked like Nikolas in the mirror. Nikolas…he had died protecting Margo from the Russian mafia, who had finally found the brothers.
It happened three years after Ty had died, they had all adjusted to life without him, and then thats when the mafia found them, they were looking for Ty, as he had caused the most damage, but they would settle for killing the others, they had found Margo, thirteen years old and just as bullheaded as she had been before.
Margo had refused to tell them where any of the brothers were, and thats when Nikolas arrived, they were going to kill her, he fought them off…only to get stabbed in the end, Margo had tried to take down the people who had slaughtered him, yet that was all in vain and instead she had died as well.
Kai hadn’t been there, he and Norman came later, with Nikolas already dead and Margo on her death bed…Kai and Norman had both been devastated.
It was a shame the mafia didn’t know about Kai’s killing past, it was extremely unwise to make an enemy out of him, and that was exactly what they had done.
Needless to say, the Russian mafia has a lot less occupants now than it used too, and he is definitely someone they want dead…not that that will happen anytime soon.
Kai looked into the mirror as his appearance changed again to look more like Norman, the last of the brothers to go, and undoubtedly the most scarring.
See, after the death of Nikolas and Margo, Norman had started Wings up again, and he was good at the game he played with so many, Kai stuck by his side, becoming more like his second in command, though of course he still had to focus on his shows, but when he wasn’t doing that…needless to say, no one messed with the head of Wings and got away with it.
That is…until, someone thought that they could.
Two and a half years after Nikolas had died, that’s when Norman fell too. It had been just like any other evening, he and Norman were meeting with a new player, that was what Norman called any new enemies, he had decided to put an end to the game then, after all it really was about time it ended, besides he was busy with other matters.
However…well, when they met this new player…it was a whole different matter.
Kai stood stiffly by the door as Norman waited for this new player to arrive at the office, at least…at Norman’s public office, the 21 year old looked sort of bored, he had heard of someone who knew of his work and wanted to talk…which of course meant this person wanted in, he didn’t know who it was yet but he was sure he could take care of this quickly.
The doors opened and Kai’s eyes widened as he saw who it was, he glanced over at Norman, who showed no emotion as Thaddeus Ivy of all people, entered the room. Thaddeus had fallen sick six years ago, he almost died, it was a miracle that he was still alive.
He and Norman had been friends up until the death of Ives, and the two quickly went separate ways after a horrible clash, neither had expected to see the man again.
Norman stood up, walking over to Thaddeus with one hand in his suit pocket and the other out for him to shake. “Mr. Ivy, what a surprise, when I had heard someone wanted to speak with me, I hadn’t assumed that it would be you,” Norman told him politely, though their was a slight bite in his voice.
Thaddeus glared at him. “Enough of the formalities Norman, we need to talk,” he said, it would seem he wasn’t much of a pushover anymore.
Norman nodded and gestured to the chair. “Fair enough, what do you want Thaddeus?” He asked as he went back to sit down in his seat.
Thaddeus looked at him, keeping eye contact. “I want you to stop what you’re doing, I know that you’ve been taking humans and experimenting on them, how can you do this? After everything you went through six and a half years ago to stop this?” He asked, straining his voice slightly.
Norman replied in a rather emotionless voice. “People change, I’m doing what needs to be done, I’m helping hybrids and giving humans exactly what they deserve…don’t worry, I’m not taking innocent people,” he replied.
“You need to stop,” Thaddeus told him firmly.
Norman smirked slightly and leaned forward, resting his arms on the desk. “No, I don’t, and you can’t make me stop, my mother wasn’t so far off when she said life was a game of chess, stop trying to be a player Thad, after all, you’ve never been anything but a pawn,” Norman replied.
Thaddeus sighed and reached into his jacket. “I’m sorry you feel that way Norman…I didn’t want to have to do this,” he explained and in a movement to quick for either of the remaining brothers to catch, Thaddeus had pulled a gun out of his jacket and fired it at Norman, shooting him in the head.
He fell dead instantly.
Almost instantly, Kai ran over to Norman and picked him up, though he knew he was already dead…nothing, not even his fast healing could save him from a shot to the head, this was it, his brothers were all dead.
Kai had been too shocked over loosing Norman to do anything to Thaddeus at the time, which had given him enough time to get out. Kai frowned…here he was, half a year later, on a tour around the world because he had been searching for Thaddeus…, it had taken awhile but he finally knew where he was.
Tonight was the night he finally avenged the last of his brothers.
Kai turned away from the mirror, changing out of his Chamo outfit and into his chameleon suit as he grabbed a few weapons to store in the pockets and headed out, humming an all familiar tune as he went.
“Hmm la to la, hmm la to, hmm la to la, hmm la to, brother will avenge you now…”

The Last Brother: Ty's version - by S'more
“Mr Walters sir, can you please help me tie my shoes?”
Ty looked down at the child in question and the 27 year old smiled and nodded as he knelt down to be at eye level with the small human boy. “Sure Teddy, you gonna go out and play with the others?” He asked as he tied the boy’s shoes.
Teddy nodded, grinning happily. “Thats right Mr. Walters sir, Aaron, Brad, and Timothy are all gonna be on my team, we’re playing hybrids versus humans!” He explained with a smile.
Ty chuckled slightly and patted his head, most people might be a bit offended by that, but Ty really wasn’t, he took care of the orphans enough to know they didn’t mean anything by it. “Oh? What side are you four going to be?” He asked.
Teddy puffed out his chest proudly. “Hybrids! Like in your stories Mr. Walters sir, your war stories!” He explained and smiled up at him. “I’m gonna be you!”
Ty’s gaze softened considerably and he practically melted at that. “Well I’m honored, who are the others going to be?” He asked and Teddy answered easily.
“Your brothers! Just like in your stories!”
Ty melted even more at that. “Would you mind if I watched?” He asked and Teddy shook his head.
“Nope, come on Mr. Walters sir, we’re about to start!” Teddy explained and ran over to the other three boys, only one of them was a hybrid, but Ty still found it cute that they were going to be hybrids…he and his brothers even.
See, for the last couple of years, Ty had been working full time at an orphanage, often telling all the kids stories about his past, and those four in particular had taken a liking to the stories he told about his brothers.
He followed the four of them outside and leaned against the building as he watched them play. He found it all adorable…however it brought back memories…see, six years ago he had fought in a war, as had his brothers, however not all four of them made it out alive. Kai had died on the battlefield, it was a memory Ty would never forget.
“Kai, can you spot the sniper?”
Ty waited as Kai put down his own sniper rifle and looked around before pointing in a direction, Ty nodded, a smirk on his face. “I’m going after him, you cover me,” he ordered.
Kai shook his head. “No, you’ll get spotted, I’ll go, I can camouflage myself,” he explained and Ty was about to argue, however Kai didn’t let him as he had already camouflaged himself and passed the gun to Ty. “You might still want to cover me,” he added before making his way over.
Ty rolled his eyes slightly at his brother before getting the gun ready and firing, fine Kai could take care of the sniper.
However at the sound of a scream…Kai’s scream, Ty wasted no time in abandoning his post as he darted after Kai, shooting anyone who tried to stop him until he reached his brother to see that he had been shot and was bleeding heavily…whoever had shot him was already gone.
He dropped the gun and walked over to his brother. “Kai, what happened?” He asked.
Kai’s breathing was already short and Ty could already tell that from where he was shot…he wasn’t going to make it, he wasn’t Norman, he couldn’t heal fast. “There was two of them, I took out the first but I was spotted by the second, he…he shot me, I…I’m loosing a lot of blood,” Kai said as he looked down at the wound.
Ty nodded, trying to make light of the situation. “Yeah…you are, but don’t worry, we’ll get you help, you’ll be…you’ll be fine, I promise,” he said and Kai looked up at him with a small smile.
“I know, you’ve always had my back…but if it’s alright, I…I think I’m going to close my eyes for a bit,” Kai explained.
The cat sniffed slightly. “Try to stay awake for me, okay?” He asked and Kai bobbed his head along, though it already seemed he was falling in and out of unconsciousness.
Ty tried to hide his worry. “Kai, stay awake a little longer, okay buddy?” He asked and Kai nodded, agreeing to that. “You know I love you bro, right?” He asked.
Kai smiled at him. “I love you too Ty,” he said, trust shining in his eyes, it would seem that Kai had no doubts in Ty, or that his brothers would save him. “I love the others too, when…when we get back to them, I’ll have to tell them that…we don’t tell each other that we love each other enough,” he said, loosing blood rather fast.
Ty smiled and brushed some of Kai’s feather’s out of his face. “Yeah…We should say it more, I’ve got to take care of the rest of the people here, but you just…you just hang in there, okay Kai? We will get you help, I promise.”
“I know Ty,” Kai replied as he fell out of consciousness.
It wasn’t long before Kai died, there had been nothing Ty could do to save him…it was the first promise he had ever broken, and he would try to make it the last.
Ty shook his head to clear it from those types of thoughts, Kai had been dead for six years…yet still, he remembered. The cat tried to focus on the four boys playing but…the one who was playing Niko…it stirred up more memories for the cat.
See, three years after Kai had died, and believe him when Ty said his brothers were all devastated, they ran into more trouble…with the Russian mafia, they came looking for Ty, as he had…well he had really ticked them off before, however he had been out when they came by.
The only ones that had been there had been Margo and Nikolas, and Nikolas had been in the back. They demanded to know where he was, and Margo refused to tell…she had always been such a good girl.
Except then they killed her for her silence.
Nikolas had been alerted to their presence after that and he…he had taken out his anger on them for killing his little sister, except they over powered him…they killed him too, Ty and Norman didn’t get there until both were already dead.
It had hurt them more than either would ever admit.
From that point on it had just been him and Norman, they relied on each other to keep each other afloat, and it worked, but then Norman tried to start Wings up.
Ty could still remember the argument they had had over that, and the tragedy that followed, it was a year after Nikolas and Margo had died, four years since Kai had died, and five years since Wings had been taken down by Norman himself…looking back, Ty couldn’t help but think that maybe…maybe if he hadn’t argued with him, maybe he at least would have one brother alive.
“Ty, Wings wouldn’t be hurting hybrids anymore, my mother didn’t die to let her life’s work rot away until it was forgotten! Just let me rebuild it, please…we could find who killed Niko, who killed Margo…and who killed Kai, we could make them pay, and we could do some good, think about it Tyler, we could find out how to help hybrid children survive, think about the kids Niko lost because our genes were flawed,” Norman argued and Ty looked over at the twenty year old with a frown on his face.
He folded his arms and shook his head. “No, Norman, it’s a bad idea, you will become just like Hazel, if we allow ourselves to bend the rules, treat humans how they have treated us in the past, we would be no better than they would have, I’m sorry Norman, but I’m not going to let you do this,” Ty told him firmly.
Norman glared at him, the two had had a lot of arguments lately, it was hard without the others and the two had a tendency to clash rather often, especially since Norman was not a little obedient kid anymore, he was an adult who didn’t want to listen to his brothers all the time anymore.
“I need some air, I’ll be back later,” Norman muttered before grabbing his leather jacket and walking out of the house.
Maybe if Ty knew that would be the last time he saw Norman alive, he would have gone after him. For you see, when Norman had left the house like that, he had run into a gang, a gang who he had messed with before, and they beat him to death, it wasn’t until three days later that the cops had found his body and Ty…he had broken down.
Now, two years later, Ty really regretted a lot of things he had done throughout the years…however there wasn’t much he could do about any of it now, his brothers were all dead….his family was all dead, he had no one, this orphanage was all that he had left, and he would protect each and every last kid here to the bitter end.
“Mr. Walters sir.”
Ty was dragged out of his thoughts by Teddy, who was tugging at his sleeve lightly. “Yes Teddy?” He asked, smiling down at the boy.
Teddy smiled back. “Could you play with us? Aaron says I don’t make a very good Ty, they said I could be someone else though, and I think they’re right, I don’t make a very good Ty…so could you play with us? You could be Ty!” Teddy offered.
Ty nodded, patting the young boy’s head. “Of course I’ll play, and you bet that I’m going to be Ty, there isn’t anyone out there better for the job!” He explained with a grin as he went over at joined the others. “Now, who are you going to be Teddy?”
Teddy thought about it for a minute, who would he be? “I can be…I dunno, there’s nobody for me to really me anymore Mr. Walters sir, not now that you’re Ty,” he explained, looking at the ground sadly.
Ty smirked as he got an idea. “How about this, you be Ty too,” he suggested and Teddy looked up at him with wide eyes.
“There can be two Tys?”
The cat hybrid nodded. “Absolutely, in fact, the more Tys the better! Heh, there can never be too much of something good,” he explained and Teddy beamed as he ran off to the other three.
“Guys! Mr. Walter sir said we can both be Ty!”
The other three cheered excitedly as Ty went over to join them, looking the four young boys over.
“Now, I know who plays Ty…and Ty the second, but who are my brothers?” He asked.
Aaron raised his hand. “I’m Niko! He’s brave, and loyal, and he would do anything for his brothers!” he explained and then Brad raised his hand as well.
“I’m Kai! He’s really smart and caring, plus he can kick butt better than anyone else!” Brad said excitedly.
Last little chipmunk hybrid Timothy raised his hand. “I’m Norman! He’s really clever…and brave…and strong!” He said, shuffling his feet lightly.
To join in on the fun, Teddy then raised his hand. “Then you know who I am! I’m Ty, the bravest, coolest, most awesome of all the brothers!” He explained.
Ty chuckled and ruffled the hair on Teddy’s head. “Before, I would have supported that statement there Teddy, but if you want my opinion, it was the other three that made Ty’s brother’s great.”
He smiled as the other three agreed. “Alright, now that we got that settled, lets play, shall we?”
