Duststreak - Dusty brown tom with beady brown-red eyes. FeathertalonMoonshadow sighed softly. “Should they take care of Blindeye and be grounded to camp for the next few dawns?” Moonshadow asked. She knew the two despised the grumpy elder; he was so mean and bossy, she thought it was a great punishment!

Snowpaw - Warrior Apprentice Territory Feathertalon 's Chickenflight peachy keen 's Alderpaw
White fur tainted with soft gray stripes was only a blur for a split second in the perspective of the tiny creature with wide brown eyes. Its heart thumping loud within it's eardrums— echoing, deafening the soft patter of elegant white paws beating against the ground floor. The tiny mammal that was shaking in it's spot, unable to spot the she-cat until she jumped forward to give her final blow, which was easily avoided by the squeak and the creature running up the tree. A sharp, low hiss emitted through her fangs as she watched the plump, caramel mouse run along the bark and proceeded to ascend higher until she couldn't spot the prey. She knew better than to waste her energy running after a puny meal that would only satisfy half of the hunger of one feline. Her naturally wide, sapphire almond eyes narrowed at the rodent before she let released a huff through her pink nostrils and bounded her way to join the two toms.
That was earlier in the morn.
Now she was walking alongside the two toms as the sun's warmth barely poured itself onto their tainted pelts. She continued to walk with her ears leaning back towards her skull. There was a moment where she felt her heart sink a few inches as she felt herself become disappointed. She was an excellent huntress, to say the least. However, when it came to the lack of prey roaming the forest, the purebred couldn't push away the embarrassment that made her face grow hot. Hunting at a time like this was necessary, but when the she-cat couldn't succeed at something she was rather good at, it was obviously not useful to the clan, and it made her feel silly.
In the corner of her eye, Snowpaw could spot her comrade, Alderpaw, stop in his tracks. She, for one, was on the lookout, but Snowpaw's cranium easily glided over to look at what the tom had spotted. Her almond eyes widened when she glared at the rather fine-sized mammal, and she, too, ceased her walking. Just as she was about to speak, her jaws separated to form an innocent, attentive look, Alderpaw dashed forward. As he began to pursuit after the rabbit, the she-cat subconsciously made her way forward, preparing herself to run after the rabbit. It all came to her naturally, feeling like Alderpaw's advance was too early and was a waste of his energy, and if he missed, she could always go in after the gentle creature. However, when he was too caught up on following the rabbit, the white molly was memorized by the pattern the prey was running in— something in a panicked state— darting to one side and turning around, before making it's way to it's burrow. She opened her mouth and out came her warning, "Alderpaw! Wa—" It was too late for the she-cat and she watched as the warrior novice ran straight into the hole. With a soft sigh, Snowpaw bounded over as Chickenflight signaled her over.
The feminine beauty placed her paw on Alderpaw's back, attempting to size up how tight the squeeze was for the tom. She let out a 'tch' before pulling herself back and stared at the apprentice's situation. Her cold eyes observed for a minute before letting out a small giggle. She found the situation quite humorous, and it was definitely something for her to go back and tell Koipaw— her best friend. Along with her having to return to camp to tell the tom's sib, Leopardpaw. Surely one of the two would find this a silly scenario, yeah? She hoped to herself this would be something she could only tell her friends without the poor tom getting teased, but without doubt one of the two would bring it up. "Don't worry Alder! You're not too stuck in there so I think Chickenflight and I could get you out easily!" She made her way to above where the tom was forced to remain, and gently began to pull at the dusty earth that seemed to engulf Alderpaw's physique. "Chickenflight! Can you dig at his sides while I dig at the top? And when the dirt is loose enough, we could pull together while Alderpaw pushes?" The she-cat looked up at her superior with wide, hopeful eyes— she had been trying to practice scenarios for moons— just to impress her mentor. However, as of lately, Snowpaw hadn't been in a situation like so, and she wanted to see if she had improved in any way. So more or less— her bossiness was more of a question towards the warrior, and her voice was soft yet confident— until the end, where it began to shrink and question her ideas rather than demand— Snowpaw wasn't the type to order others around.

Applestar » Applestar flicked her tail in thought at the molly’s suggestion. She thought it over, not wanting to completely dismiss what Moonshadow had to say. The warrior was a valuable member of her Clan, and she made some good points. Her concerns were valid if anything. Even still, Applestar didn’t think they needed that harsh of a punishment at the moment.
Shaking her head, Applestar replied, ”If Gingerlily sees them fit, they can be tasked with cleaning out the elders’ den. I don’t think we should keep any of our cats in camp, though. We need as many paws out there hunting as we can.” The more cats that could go outside and hunt the better, even if Applestar was starting to run out of hope that any decent amount of prey was still out there
Chickenflight » There was no time to waste. Chickenflight didn’t think anything too bad would happen to Alderpaw if he stayed down the rabbit hole for a while, but he really didn’t want to chance it just in case something did happen. He also just didn’t want to keep the poor tom stuck in there for long, and he really didn’t want to return back to camp and face Brokensnow when the warrior heard news of what happened to his son. He had already been worried enough as it was that Alderpaw was going out on a hunting patrol, Chickenflight could only imagine what Brokensnow would do if he heard that the apprentice got stuck in a rabbit warren.
Relief washed over Chickenflight when he spotted Snowpaw make her way over to help. He more than likely could just get Alderpaw out on his own, but another set of paws was always a good thing, and if something did go awry the chances of Alderpaw coming out unscatched was much better with two of them.
”You’re going to be just fine,” the black and white tomcat meowed to his apprentice before bounding over to start digging into the ground near Alderpaw’s flanks. ”The dirt is hard,” he called over to Snowpaw, though he was sure the pointed molly knew that already. ”Try not to tear any of your claws. We should try and get out of this without needing a visit to Gingerlily.” She already had two apprentices as her patients right now, Chickenflight didn’t want to have to add another to her den if he could it.

Feathertalon 【 ᵗʷᶦˡᶦᵍʰᵗ 】
Alderpaw Alderpaw felt himself grow hot again after hearing a giggle from his peer. He attempted to whip his head towards her and glare but instead he bumped his muzzle into the hard, dry earth next to his face ”Ow...” he mumbled quietly to himself, listening to the small echo down the tunnels. He should have let Snowpaw give chase rather than attempt it himself. Sure she would get all the glory, but at least less cats would be hungry and he wouldn’t be encased in a rabbit’s home. It was too late now to change anything - the rabbit was gone and he was here. Truly, it was a rather unsavory lesson of poor planning and teamwork. His tail flicked in impatience as he felt and heard the scratching and removal of his trap by his mentor and fellow apprentice. At least only one of them laughed and both of them helped rather than leave him to the elements. Alderpaw wriggled his hindquarters once he felt the dirt loosen further around his flanks and legs and after some twisting, Alderpaw managed to pull the rest of his short, stocky body out of the warren. He shook his pelt vigorously in a rather vain attempt to clean himself off quickly. His ears laid back on his head and his tail tip flicked side to side as his eyes wandered between the both of them. ”Thank you for the help,” Alderpaw started but turned his head towards Snowpaw specifically and narrowed his green eyes, ears up and angled towards the female apprentice, you better not say anything to anyone. I’ll be the biggest joke in WhisperClan!” he muttered. Well, the biggest joke besides the amount of food going around. If his father found out about the incident, Alderpaw knew Brokensnow would not leave Applestar alone until he got his way: that Alderpaw be sent to only fetch water or on border patrols. While Alderpaw knew both were important, no one wants to be known as the “water-tom” and existing mainly in the background, a mere support role like a medicine cat or something. Alderpaw was no medicine cat. He was a warrior....who just happened to get stuck in various spaces sometimes.

✦ Medicine Cat's Den ✦ Feathertalon 's Gingerlily ✦ "It is my pleasure."
Loosely coiled around her slender frame lay a feathered tail, the occasional twitch like the head of an engorged serpent, waiting patiently for Gingerlily’s input, seated straight and proper, presentable to her mentor.
Nurturing was her teacher’s typical praise, but just as the healer applauded her work, she was fully capable of firm corrections. And though those days had thinned the sparse times they’d even occurred, Koipaw never allowed arrogance to taint her work, and pushed the hardest she could to make every task the best it could possibly be—never faltering, never delaying.
So she always looked forward to Gingerlily assessing her work, pouring moons of dedication, teachings, and love into each activity, silently and indirectly demonstrating to her teacher the fact she adored the field—of course, when she wasn’t actively geeking out about herbs and their various capabilities. Not only that, but it showed just how much the dilute calico molly succeeded in her instructions, to have such an accomplished she-cat in the Clan’s midst. It was a team effort: Koipaw’s passion mixed with Gingerlily’s direction, and in the end their relationship evolved past simple mentor and apprentice, to something like mother and daughter—and Koipaw couldn’t be happier.
Collecting her bearings, she watched as her teacher observed the presented handiwork, before noticing her drift in thought. Gingerlily was known to wander in her own head, but Koipaw never minded the odd quirk. Sometimes she, too, could be caught daydreaming, typically after a day’s end and right before sleep. Usually about the Clan and the issues they faced, and how, as a medicine cat, she could somehow better the environment. Finally, the healer spoke.
A mixture of pride and sheepishness melded together to form a rather mismatched emotion. Pride was a warmth that surged deep in her chest, comfortable and thrilling. Sheepishness, however, seeped forward with unrelenting heat, spreading across her face and ears in hot bouts. Not quite embarrassment—she had nothing to be embarrassed about—but rather a humbleness that always came when accepting approval. She knew her skill well, incredibly proficient for her age, but she never took admiration as a source of conceit. Ah, that was it. Modesty. For being all looks and abilities, Koipaw had always been modest, never recalling a day she’d gloated over her prowess. It was one of her mother’s last teachings before her death.
Koipaw offered another kindred smile, a beam that seemed to never stray too far from the good-natured countenance. Gratitude lay in the bright of her sunny eyes, apparent and pure. Gingerlily’s praise never got old and she treasured the positive feedback. Even criticism she had a special place for, as it was simply just another outlet for success.
“Thank you ma’am,” the understudy purred and bowed her head in courtesy. Then as the older feline continued, Koipaw flushed a deep crimson beneath a tricolored coat, bashful. Her voice reflected that, endearingly pitched and layered over by notes of gratitude. “Oh my, it’s no race, honest! They’re just wraps, I’m sure yours looked just as well back then!”
Her voice took a serious turn, but still edged with her unfaltering optimism: “But I hope they benefit our clan-mates! I separated these two”—she pointed with a paw to a pair of bundles spaced a bit further away than the rest—“for Hazelpaw and Antpaw, in case they need it. So that leaves us with three left over. Would that be enough for now?” Her eyes were wide, likened to twin suns, as she waited for a reply. Whatever Gingerlily’s asked of her, she would get done as soon as she could.

✦ The Stream ✦ peachy keen 's Bumblespots ✦ "The most dangerous person is one who thinks, listens, and observes."
Despite his cold, almost dark exterior, Mosquitoswarm still cared for those in the Clan. Thus, he always avoided eating until he noticed most had. Today had been no different, and his stomach emitted a low, begging growl.
“No.” Whether the word had been directed more to himself, or more to Bumblespots, it wasn’t clear. His eyes fixated on his mate, stern resolve bubbling just at their surfaces. “You need to eat more than me.”
Though the tiny fish looked absolutely tempting, the male could definitely go another day without eating. His thick fur hid it well, but beneath all that dark pelage and pale skin lay outlined ribs, pointed and sharp, perhaps more pronounced than his mate’s. But what if the two continued to argue back and forth? It was definitely a tribute to their affection to one another, but still a waste of time nonetheless. Perhaps they could go hunting instead.
He took a claw and halved the minnow in half. Silently, he nudged the tail-half to the she-cat and kept its decapitated head for himself. “It’s only fair,” he sighed, deep, tired. These past few days had taken a mighty toll on him. Mosquitoswarm’s mouth welcomed the small morsel and he downed the piece promptly, licking his lips free of the saltiness on them.
He leaned into her rasping tongue, enjoying the feeling of its roughness untangle matted knots. Typically the tom took the time to smooth his own coat, but due to the recent happenings he had become more and more occupied, preventing him on doing anything else. His amber gaze lidded in the moment of peace.

Gingerlily » She couldn’t stop the laugh that bubbled from up her chest and out of her now parted maw. It was more of a light hearted giggle than a full blown laugh, but it was there nonetheless, echoing in the den and making itself known.
Gingerlily leaned down to affectionately nudge her apprentice. ”There’s no need to refer to me as ‘ma’am’,” she told the younger calico, copper eyes dancing with a friendly warmth that meant no harm to Koipaw. Gingerlily knew Koipaw was only meaning to be polite, but the dilute calico felt as if they had passed the line between just a respectful relationship between apprentice and mentor and was now more something along the lines of close friends, or as Gingerlily had described it before, mother and daughter.
As the conversation drifted back to the topic of the wraps, Gingerlily pulled away from her apprentice and trailed her eyes down to where Koipaw had placed the herb wraps after finishing them. ”Oh, mine took moons to look well enough for display. I mean, I never thought the actual looks to the wraps meant much since it’s the use of them that matters, but apparently cats are more willing to take herbs if they come from a bundle that’s pleasing to look at.” Gingerlily supposed that made sense. She wouldn’t want to eat a mouse if it was all smushed and looked as if it had been trampled by a stampede of deer, but even still, a mouse was a mouse just as much as a herb was a herb. At least her wraps looked neat and tidy now. It had taken her a while to figure out how to get them to the proper shape and form, but she had figured it out, and now she was using her knowledge to make Koipaw the best medicine cat she could be when her time came.
Now that she was being asked questions, Gingerlily did what she could to bring herself completely back down to earth and give her apprentice the most thorough and right answers she could give. When it came to medicine full answers were necessary. A half answer that left more confusion later down the road meant the difference between life and death. ”Three will be more than enough,” Gingerlily purred. ”I would like to restock on the herbs we use before making anymore, but this weather has made herbs just as scarce as prey, if not more.” A low sigh drifted from the older molly’s lips. Some herbs could survive in the hot, dry conditions, but many had withered away and dried up due to the weather. She was lucky she still had enough for the five wraps Koipaw had made, and she was lucky to have whatever all was left in her storage still. It was enough for now, Gingerlily made sure to stock up well before the drought had truly hit, but as cats kept getting hurt and sick it would only be a matter of time before her herb stores ran dry like the ground outside.
Not wanting to get lost in negative thoughts at the moment, Gingerlily focused her attention back to what was important right now in this moment. ”Do you mind checking in on Antpaw and Hazelpaw? I know Moonshadow being in here earlier riled them up, and I think having somebody their age to talk to them now would benefit them the most.” While it was Gingerlily’s job to soothe and help those that needed her, she did believe that Koipaw’s presence would calm the two warrior apprentices much more than the presence of an older cat such as Gingerlily. They were on the same playing field, just one for medicine and two not, but they had grown up with one another, and a friendly face like that would be much more soothing than the face of a cat that was simply older and trying to get them to do something they rather wouldn’t.

Loosely coiled around her slender frame lay a feathered tail, the occasional twitch like the head of an engorged serpent, waiting patiently for Gingerlily’s input, seated straight and proper, presentable to her mentor.
Rich laughter bubbled forth in kind, a pretty chime that tinkled and jingled melodies of contentment, joining in Gingerlily’s own show of amusement. ‘Ma’am’ came out more as a instinctive cue, taught to Koipaw by her mother’s lessons in manners. So it always came to a mild chagrin when her donned professional persona slipped the honorific to someone she considered very dear—almost comparable if she started referring to Bettastrike as ‘sir’. But today, the mistake in titles came more so as amusement, a momentary relief from the horrors outside.
“Yes, ma’am,” Koipaw giggled with a playful glance. Ah how she missed their teasing banter. Though it arouse from time to time, it had become more sparse as of late. With their depleting stores and suffering clan-mates, it was getting harder and harder to find things to laugh about. And, as the small cat leaned into her teacher’s warm touch, she took an long minute to relish their shared moment. Her weight shifted against the older molly’s frame into something like a hug, finding the embrace an excellent source of comfort.
Gingerlily pulled away first, and Koipaw rocked back into place, having gotten what she needed—a motherly touch. Still an apprentice, definitely the youngest out of the bunch, Koipaw sought for consolation at times, mostly either from Bettastrike or Gingerlily herself. And though it usually didn’t show in the bright in her eyes or the curve of her teeth, Koipaw was stressed. Stressed by what was happening to the Clan. Stressed by their future. Just... stressed in general.
“You make them beautiful now,” the understudy complimented her teacher. “Without you I probably would’ve made them bad too. And yes! We can go later if you want. Perhaps we could try moving the plants closer to water? Poor things are burning up in the sun.” Upon the topic change, Koipaw nodded in agreement.
“Of course Gingerlily,” she purred. Then adding encouragingly over her shoulder: “Call out if you need my assistance on anything!”
Off she went, her posturing enough to suit a queen and her gait a dancer. Still, she had her doubts, hidden away by a thoughtful front. Both apprentices had a knack for troublesome behavior, having seen it firsthand this morning. Despite her age, there was still a possibility she’d be snapped at, especially if Antpaw had yet to overcome his surly attitude. And though the two had been close as kits, no one was spared from the ruddy tom’s venomous tongue. She had to navigate the situation calmly if she didn’t want another mess like the one Moonshadow created.
“Hello,” she greeted kindly, looking between the both of them. Her soft gaze lingered for a moment on Antpaw before flitting back to Hazelpaw. “Are the two of you feeling any better from yesterday?”

~Hazelpaw; Antpaw/ Koipaw/ Gingerlily~
ᔕɿɱƿՆעᗰעς੮ע & Feathertalon
Hazelpaw looked up from her place in the den and turned away from Koipaw. She wasn’t in the mood to talk with cats after Moonshadow grounded her and Antpaw. Would they really be stuck in the camp for this long? Wasn’t this like, against the warrior code? Moonshadow was locking her and Antpaw into the camp for many dawns, when they were almost warriors. Surely Applestar would say no to the punishment, right? Hazelpaw knew she couldn’t be rude though, so she turned back to Koipaw and flicked her tail. “I’m doing better,” she meowed. I’m not choking up water and dust, so that’s good, she thought. “How about you, Antpaw?” She asked in the sweetest tone possible, trying to get Antpaw in a better mood with her charming voice. She simply took a swift step towards him, staying away, but reminding him that she was there, and wanting his attention.
~Moonshadow; Applestar~
Feathertalon
Moonshadow nodded a bit sadly. She was always the one to go to if an apprentice or kit needed it; but she supposed keeping them in camp might be a little too much. After all, they had to train to become warriors so that WhisperClan could have more warriors. “Thank you, Applestar. I will have Hazelpaw treat to Blindeye for the next training, and try to persuade Crowhop to,” she meowed. She didn’t want to say it, but Antpaw was her problem. He was the one disrespecting her, so she had to get Crowhop to punish him. Moonshadow gave a small bow of her head to her leader and walked away, thinking about going on a patrol or starting one.

Snowpaw - Warrior Apprentice Territory Feathertalon 's Chickenflight peachy keen 's Alderpaw
Her dainty, bleached mittens began to stain as she kneaded at the earth with her clear daggers unsheathed. Her motions were swift yet gentle— cautiously pulling upwards and careful of the roots that had extended themselves outward and away from their host. Snowpaw admitted, she was a sucker for nature. Sure she was this popular-nice molly, but Snowpaw was into the mother Earth more than her toms. However, this was her comrade she was handling as well, so along with her breaking the soil, Snowpaw continued to carefully handle her paws along Alderpaw's flank. She worked with fast paws and a small smile, carefully placing the roots next to her fluffy tail, away from Alderpaw. A small nod came in response to Chickenflight's reassuring words, and she giggled once more when the tom hit his head against the burrow's walls. He was an odd male, indeed. Sometimes she could see him not using his brain, while others she could.
Snowpaw spotted the tom's hindquarters begin to twist and twitch, and in response, she backed up, carefully scooping the roots and placing them just above the hole, only to pat the soil down for the plants to have secure roots. As he shook his body, dirt chunks began to fly towards her, and in response, Snowpaw's rounded ears pinned against her skull, not wanting any particles to fall within her canals. She turned her cranium to look back at Alderpaw, an evident glint to her ocean blue eyes that seemed to playfully challenge the stocky tom. Soft, hazy clouds filled her orbs that practically screamed for him to dare her. However, as much as Snowpaw was tempted, she was nice. "Uh-huh. I won't tell your brother then." A small grin grew on her face, exposing her pearl-colored fangs that matched the milk-white velvet tufts.
Deep within her mind, she thought to herself, no doubt I'm going to tell Koipaw though.
After all, the pretty physician was Snowpaw's best friend. Snowpaw practically told Koipaw everything! Ironically, you could say they were Yin and Yang. For sure Koipaw would be told of this incident, as when Snowpaw returns to camp, the purebred would go back to her friend, who often checked over the huntress novice to confirm that she was in well condition. One question was was always raised? Why were Snowpaw's delicate mittens always untouched? However today, when she returned, she would returned with paws that are stained a light brown, forcing her to tell Koipaw. Besides that, Snowpaw liked to tell Koipaw everything that happened. And Leopardpaw was beginning to grow on the list, especially when it came to his brother. But perhaps she would keep her word, as the honest and loyal she-cat she was, and not tell the sib.
