Oswald grinned as Cruva answered. "It was in some alleyway, but I can find it again," the prince answered eagerly. He really wanted to help, to prove his worth to the group. This presented that exact oppertunity. Oswald turned and began heading back towards the alley. As he walked along the street, his mind drifted to the door at the end. It was likely it was some sort of criminal hang out. The question now was how to get in. He had no such luck, but perhaps the demon would know what to do. He hoped that was the case at least. Cruva seemed like the type who could guide him through the criminal underworld, but Oswald also couldn't be certain.
The demon spoke up once more. He was slightly caught off guard by his willingness to answer his questions, but wasn't one to complain. "I don't mean to be rude, but could it have been a wizard or something? I mean they can create the effects we see here with their magic." To him, it was just as likely as it being someone connected to the storm goddess. Of course, the demon likely knew better.

The blonde noticed a smile spread across the woman's features. She raised an eyebrow, curious with Kiran's change in behavior. When asked about her shoes, the thief simply shrugged. She wasn't surprised that it was brought up, even if it was as a joke. Although princess' tone was teasing, Kell thought it would make more sense to answer her. It would hopefully keep an suspicions at bay. The less they knew about what she could do, the better. Kell wanted to keep her abilities to herself. If the royals found out about what she could do, she could be used for their gain. She bowed to no one and refused to be used by those in charge. "Just wanted to get out of my shoes I suppose."
Kellan nodded in agreement. "That sounds about right. I was thinking that was the case myself. I mean nothing else makes sense, right?" Of course that was a lie, a lie that worked in her favor. There was no way the event would be connected to Kell and she made sure to keep it that way.

The demon could likely get him inside without too much of a hassle. He himself never found it hard to get into such places, but he was also a demon. His entrance went without question, and if he didn’t get his way, he simply forced his way in. The half orc could likely die the same, however his typical nature if where the problem originated. He was too nice, to put simply, which made this a bit harder. As he turned and began to walk in a different direction, he glanced at those they passed. The people here didn’t seem too interesting - not to him, anyways. “Good, I’m sure I can get you in. You’ll just have to stop being so nice about everything.” It was possible that a little emotional manipulation was in the prince’s future, however it would be better if it didn’t come to that.
As Oswald questioned his answer, his gaze turned back to him once more. “They can’t. Were it an illusion, it would be a demon or angel, and I would’ve known. Wizards don’t have the energy resources to do something like this,” Cruva responded. It was rare for somebody to question a demon’s knowledge, and he wasn’t very fond of it. “Ah spell of this magnitude would left the town on fire based on the sound alone. Humans and the like at close range, however, can’t tell the difference between thunder and an explosion. This was the latter.”
———
Honestly, she hadn’t expected a response, and it threw her off a bit. Sure, she had her suspicions but hadn’t thought on them much until the woman in front of her actually answered. In a place like this? Kiran raised an eyebrow, clearly disbelieving of the answer, though didn’t press. “Yeah, sure,” was all she responded with. She didn’t know the other well, but she knew enough to understand that she would never get a straight answer as to why she was barefoot in such a place. There was no use in wasting energy asking questions that wouldn’t be answered. If she wanted that done, she tended to leave questioning to the demon. He always yielded beneficial results, though this situation didn’t call for that. Honestly, she didn’t actually care about the reason.
As the thief responded, the freckled royal only shrugged. “Hypothetically. I mean, a deity’s champion could likely accomplish a similar sound depending on their abilities.” It was just a thought, though she didn’t know much about the gods. Not as much as she should, that’s is. “I mean, I wasn’t there, though. I’m not the best one to ask.” It wasn’t as If she’d seen the event, so she had no idea of the damage it had done. She knew nothing other than the sound that it had created.
There was a pause in her words before sometime seemed to dawn on her. “Oh, hey! Look, last night... I don’t remember a ton of it, but I recall asking you to teach me to climb? Don’t worry about that - I’m sure I can teach myself.” As per the conversation, this was out of the blue. Her train of thought, however, had derailed about three days ago when she realized she hadn’t planned any further than going to the mountains to take care of business.

The prince waited for Cruva to say something. Would the guard agree to his idea or would he simply be blown off? He couldn't blame the demon if it were the latter, Oswald wasn't the most assertive person nor was he the most threatening. In fact, he would probably be walked all over in the secretive underworld of outlaws. He would understand if Cruva saw him unfit to help. He listened as the demon spoke up again, agreeing to his idea. The half-orc couldn't help but smile. That was probably a good sign. "That's good and I'm sure I can manage being rude and acting more like a criminal."
He was not certian he could manage that. His manners were ingrained in his mind and it would be diffcult to be purposely rude. He was always taught to be kind and respectful to others and had never done the opposite unless the situation called for it. Even then being rude was an overstatement on his part. Could he really ignore his nature and put on the facade of a gruff criminal? After a moment, Oswald sighed and glanced at Cruva curiously. "Are you going to remain as a cat?"
The question was mostly used as means to distract him for the moment. He didn't what Cruva decided to do. In fact staying a cat likely would've worked better for them. However he also needed some kind of guidance and talking to a cat might look weird in the eyes of those around him. As the conversation continued, Oswald turned his attention back towards the man's words. "Ah interesting. I'm sorry if I was disrespectful, I didn't mean to overstep or anything." The prince paused and inwardly cringed. He was already failing at acting more like a criminal.

Kiran wasn't convinced of the theif's answer. Kell wasn't entierly surprised, it was an unusual answer and walking around barefoot in the city wasn't the best decision. It was especially unwise with all the glass and stray pieces of debris that littered the streets. Of course Kell also didn't care about the question either. The people she travled with didn't need to know everything about her like she didn't need to know everything about them. The conversation quickly shifted to the 'explosion' from earlier. The thief was glad for the change in topic, though was sure the princess hadn't cared that much for the mystery of the missing shoes in the first place.
Kell simply hummed in reply. She acted disinterested, but truthfully the thought grabbed her attention. She never considered the possiblity of being related to some deity. It would certainly explain away some of her abilities and a few things that seemed unnatural before. However, the idea simply didn't sit right with her. Why would someone with the blood of a god be left to live as a street urchin? The thought bothered her and so for the time being, she shoved it to the back of her mind. She was pulled away from her thoughts as the royal spoke up once more. She spoke about climbing and teaching herself. The thief blinked in surprise. It would like end in disaster for the princess if she tried that.
"Teach yourself? I'm not sure that's a good idea." Her mouth moved faster than her mind. She hadn't intended to stop the woman- Kell didn't care what she did -but someone trying to train themself in the art of climbing could lead to disastrous outcomes. A part of her, for some reason, felt responsible for warning the woman. She almost cared about what could happen if Kiran attempted to climb herself to a slight degree. Why should I care? She thought bitterly. If the princess wants to get herself injured or even killed, that's on her. And yet the thief couldn't help but to care, even if it was a small bit.

The demon didn't respond to the statement, figuring he'd either live up to it or he wouldn't. He already knew that the prince wasn't extremely assertive, and he was weirdly polite. Sure, he was royalty which made manners an expectation, but even outside of his duties he was just so.... formal. Still, it wasn't long before a question was being posed. "It would be easier, unless you're implying you'd like a more intimidating creature." As it stood, ending the possession was not an option. He could, however, further alter the feline and create something far more fearsome than his current presentation. It would take a bit of work, but it would be well worth it in the end. That, the the half-orc would have an interesting animal to bring home after they finished up here.
Cruva sighed when he apologized. He really wasn't made for this, was he? "Don't apologize. The point is to be disrespectful." He paused, looking over the other's face. He had to wonder... "Haven't you ever been angry before? Yelled at somebody?" Surely he had been at least once in his life. There was no way he was simply so nice all the time. If there was anything negative for him to tug at, he would if it came down to it. It wasn't as if he actually cared for the details of the answer, he just wanted to know it was possible. So long as it was possible, then he could create a prince with criminal intentions by simply amplifying anger and ill will. If not... Well, he'd have to do more work than he thought.
------
She didn't speak any further on the topic, finding there was no reason to do so. If the thief wanted to go barefoot, that had nothing to do with her. She wasn't the woman's keeper, and they were both adults, meaning they could make their own decisions. As for the sound, it seemed there was nothing else worth discussing there, either. She only knew what it had sounded like from where she stood, nothing more, nothing less. Sure, she could keep trying to guess at its cause, but it was pointless considering she hadn't seen it. Her guard, however, might know more if he had been closer than herself. Still, she didn't voice this thought, rather focusing on how the conversation turned once more.
Why wasn't it? The only reason she'd picked up archery was because she'd been caught teaching herself how to shoot an arrow. She taught herself how to ride long before her riding lessons had started. In truth, the skills would have developed properly if she hadn't started actual lessons, but even still. Teaching herself to climb would be just fine so long as she paced herself properly. "I don't see why not," Kiran responded. She was a bit thrown off by the sudden concern, or at least, that's the only thing she could figure to interpret it as. "It's not like I'm going to force you to teach me, and if my mother found out I was learning she'd shut it down pretty quick. It's not 'lady like' or whatever." She did the air quotes around the short phrase, knowing that it was the reason she would get.
It was odd reasoning considering the rest of the kingdom thought she was a man. Still, she did her best not get caught doing things like this because she hated hearing about it later. Focusing on the conversation once more, she gave a light shrug. "So, I'll teach myself."

The prince shook his head. "No I blelieve your current form will be fine for this thing. That is unless you think differently, of course." Cruva would know better than him and if he wanted to change how he looked, the half-orc wouldn't care. When the guard asked if he'd ever gotten angry, the prince glanced at him curiously. Oswald had never really gotten mad before. Sure he'd grown quite annoyed in the past, but full on angry? Nothing really stood out to him. He would have to think upon it. After a minute, the half-orc finally spoke up, a memory coming to him. "Well my brother nearly destroyed a priceless book on the history of the Mithran coast. Does that count?"
He remembered the event well enough, though it happened many years ago when he was a young teenager. He left the book in the library and his younger brother thought it would be hilarious to mess with him. The actual book had been hidden away while a lookalike was placed in the fireplace and set alight. Oswald had watched the entire thing and grew frustrated with the younger boy. He had yelled at him, but felt guilty for doing so after he found out the truth. Even as he thought about it some of the guilt nipped at his chest. Oswald sighed and let a silence settle between them for a moment. They continued their journey through the town. They were close to the alley and would likely reach it soon.

The princess seemed to think it over for a moment. However judging by her reaction, she appeared to disagree with the thief's statement. It seemed to further confirm Kell's suspicions as the Zaestrin royal spoke. After a moment, the blonde realized she would get nowhere with the other woman. It didn't matter. She didn't care. "Alright," Kell replied with a simple shrug. If the princess thought she could handle herself, then that was that. Besides, the thief didn't care about her. If the royal got hurt while trying to teach herself, it didn't matter to Kell.
"Anyway if that's all you need I think I'll be on my way." As if to punctuate how much she didn't care, the thief turned on her heels and began to walk away. If Kiran needed her again, she would go after her. If not. she would just wander around before she was needed again.

(From what I can gather, a bus driver he never had before was asking kids if they lived in the nearby neighborhood or the country (as you can guess, we live in the country) and of they lived in the latter, they were sent to the front of the school. Parents/Guardians didn't get a call and because that school is literally one of the worst, he had to wait outside for an hour until I could pick him up. He was going to go home with friends, but they couldn't pick him up like he originally thought. Needless to say I'm livid, my sister's livid, and my paremts won't be happy when we tell them.)

(Exactly. And we don't know if it was the bus company that ordered that or the bus driver himself. Another thing that's nothing me is why the school didn't do anything about it. I mean it's a pretty bad school honestly (at least the administration sucks and I've known no one to like them) but that doesn't explain why staff wouldn't have contacted the parents unless they didn't know.)

Unfortunately it's the most convenient middle school around, so what can you do.)

Cruva would've shrugged if he could. He didn't personally care, as he wasn't the one who was trying to fit in with a bunch of criminals. It was something he had to try at - he let himself into to places as he so pleased, and those who questioned his presence quickly met their match. Rather than comment on this, he focused on the prince's answer to his question. Really? That was it? Even as he spoke of it, all he could feel was guilt. "And you somehow feel guilty for this event?" He really is too damn nice... he thought a little bitterly.
There wasn't much to play with. Guilt was useful, but not in this aspect, which left him with essentially nothing. As they came closer to the alley, he noticed the people thinning out, likely finding places to go for the night. "When we get there, don't ask to be let in. Tell them to let you in - demands are everything." The demon would handle it if he had to, he just didn't want to exude the effort.
------
She'd expected such a reply from the thief. The princess had assumed the earlier concern had been minimal, and she'd just proved her own point. It wasn't surprising - no, it seemed the blonde was going out her way to make sure everyone knew just how much she didn't care, despite her little slip up only moments ago. In honesty, she found it a bit irritating. Nobody was making her stay, absolutely nobody. Yet, here she was, trying to make a statement while also not leaving to go back to wherever it was that she had come from. Nothing was keeping her with them, at least nothing on her end.
As she turned away, Kiran couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Whatever - for somebody who acts like they don't care, you seem pretty set on sticking around. You have fun, I've got a half demon to pay." The words rolled off her tongue before she even realized. And when she did realize, she couldn't say that she regretted them. She'd never been one to filter her thoughts much, so most of them were spoken as soon as they came into her head. Somewhere in the middle, she had turned heading towards an alley that just barely separated two houses. As it stood, she saw no point in waiting around for a reaction. If the thief didn't want to even try to be friendly, then she wouldn't bother putting in the effort any longer.

(I'm enjoying Oswald's and Cruva's dynamic. Oswald's acting too nice and Cruva's just annoyed with him the entire time.)
Oswald flushed at Cruva's comment. "Well...I mean...It was a harmless joke in the end. I didn't exactly feel good about yelling at my brother." Even now he was feeling a twinge of guilt for feeling bad about the memory. They weren't even to the alley yet and he was already failing. The prince let out a sigh and tried to focus back on the anger he felt. He wanted to help the demon and focusing on the anger would, hopefully, make his job easier. He kept his mind on the negative emotion as they walked through the town, though it was diffcult. He rarely expierence negative emotions like that and it was even rarer he acted upon them.
Cruva spoke up again, pulling Oswald from his thoughts. He was giving advice or perhaps something more of an order. The prince drew in a breath and nodded. "Right. They will let me in. I will demand that they do." He sounded confident, but didn't feel as such. Could he really be assertive enough to ask- no demand such a thing? He could see the familiar, weathered door at the end of the alley. He would get in and he had Cruva to help. Slowly, he began to approch.
"Any last minute advice?" He asked in a low whisper.

Kell clenched her fists at Kiran's comment. It wasn't enough to make her turn around or say anything, however. The princess knew why she stayed, that blasted half-orc gave her a deal too good to pass up. Did she really think there was another reason? Kellan pushed the thoughts from her mind, the royal could think whatever she wanted. It didn't matter to the thief. What did catch her interest, however, was the mention of a half demon. Kell knew a few like that, people who had varying degrees of demon heritage somewhere in their ancestry. She wondered what the princess was going to find out, though wasn't curious enough to follow her. She could just listen to whatever she found later, assuming she told the others. Kell quickly left the area and began to wander around. She had time to burn and wanted to find something to do.

(I know, it’s so great and I’m loving it)
Harmless joke? He felt guilty because he’d yelled? It was no wonder he couldn’t pick at anything. Unlike most, it seemed that he dealt with his negative emotions rather well. A little too well, if you asked him. Still, there was something beneath it all. After all, he still felt guilty about the event, right? Which meant there had to be at least a minuscule twinge of anger or annoyance linked to the memory as well. With a bit of focus on the prince’s end, Cruva was able to pick up on a bit of it. Ears perking up a bit, he got to work on it. Picking at it, exaggerating it slowly. Just enough to get them inside and maintain it for however long they stayed. It wasn’t most compared to what he typically did, but he was unsure of how the other would react, which was something he now had to be wary of.
The demon only listened as the other talked himself into false confidence. A good choice, really. He didn’t speak up again until a question was posed. Advice? “Don’t back down - not from them, or the anger.” It was all he could really say. Resisting a demon’s manipulations wasn’t easy, however if he tried to resist it, he’d have to exaggerate the emotion that much further. This only ate up more energy and considering he had to care about the reactions it wasn’t preferred. He fell silent as they approached the door, tail swaying gently as they moved.
———
It didn’t take long for the princess to find her way back to the alley where she’d originally met the mercenary. Only moments later the half-elf was approaching her. She didn’t look too pleased, but she couldn’t say she really cared. How the other woman felt was not her concern - her concern was only whether or not the job had been done. Without those letter, she’d still know nothing. At this point, even the smallest amount of information would work for her.
Wordlessly, an envelope was being presented to her, held only by two clawed fingers. “Here. Got five of them - would’ve been six but I could only find the remains of one.” It’d been torn in half, though she figured her odd little contractor would want it anyways. After all, the part that was there was still legible, and she was an information collector. In her world, any information was good information. So she’d snatched it with the rest of them. They wouldn’t be missed, but she was still risking her own safety. At least the pouch she’d seen earlier had looked rather hefty - two-thirds of that would keep her comfortable for a bit and earn a new weapon. As the shorter women took the envelope and stowed it in her cloak, she raised an eyebrow. “Not gonna look at it now? Make sure I’m not lying?”
“You’re only a half demon - you still have your tells,” Kiran replied, pulling the pouch off her belt and holding it out. The mercenary had only been given the chance to look offending for a couple seconds before she realized her payment was being offered. Kiran no longer cared for the rest of her money. She wouldn’t be needing it. Besides, the rest was in her room, and she had more at home. That, and she’d essentially put this woman’s livelihood at risk for her own gain. She supposed it was only fair.
The pouch was removed from her possession slowly, almost as if it was some trick. As soon as had left her hand, however, the freckled woman turned away and add her way out of the alley without so much as another word to the half-demon. She could read the letters later. For now, she’d leave the town and go on a hunt. A good haul would alleviate some of her tension... and give her the energy to stay up tonight.

The prince felt...weird. Different. He couldn't fully understand it or even describe it, though quickly realized Cruva had messed with his emotions. The prince carefully held onto the anger, and let it stay there. He wasn't going to mess up again. The demon spoke up once more, giving a few final words. Oswald simply nodded, it was good advice. Right, don't back down. He reached the door and stood ahead of it for a moment. Finally, he pounded aganist the wood and drew in a breath. After a moment, a woman answered. She was the same on from earlier. Short and musclar like a dwarf, but had the height of a human, elf, or orc.
"Can I help you?" She asked after a moment. She narrowed her eyes for a moment and a glimmer of recognition flashed through them. The prince could feel unease rising, but he focused on the anger. It was stronger.
"I'm going in," he said after a moment. "I'm not going to keep people waiting." His tone hinted that he was meeting someone, though it was a lie. The unease grew slightly, but Oswald held his ground. He wasn't about to screw it up. The woman regarded him for a moment before slowly nodding. She likely noticed a change in him, which wasn't a bad thing. Probably.
"Alright," she simply replied. She carefully opened the door and let him in. She didn't say anything about Cruva, likely not caring that he was bringing a cat in. As he entered, he couldn't help but smile a little. He did it! Cruva helped, of course, but he had gotten in. Oswald regarded the people around him. No one really took a second glance as he passed through, they didn't seem to care. After a moment, the prince found an empty seat at the bar and sat down. He ordered a drink and waited to see if anyone would approch him. No one did. Perhaps it's time to ask, he thought after a moment. He eyed the people beside him and spoke.
"So, what have you heard about the recent events in Zaestro?"

He'd felt it, the unease as Oswald spoke to the woman manning the door. Still, he seemed he'd taken his last bit of advice to heart as it wasn't long before the door was being opened and they were going inside. Impressive... Honestly, he'd been expecting him to back down from her. Very interesting, but beneficial. Ears flicking occasionally as the other walked, he drank in the new environment. Nothing much as far as he was concerned. The building was a bit larger than he'd expected, though it wasn't anything special. It reminded him of the tavern, in a way. Soon enough the prince was seated at the bar, looking at the people beside them. When he posed a question, it was an elf that turned. Porcelain skin, hair black as his own claws that fell down to his back, and amber eyes that told of initial disinterest were what they were faced with. The demon wasn't surprised that somebody like this could get away with things - to a human, they would be mesmerizing.
"Who hasn't?" he scoffed, eyes turning away as he nodded to the person behind the counter. He figured it was about time for another drink considering this person he'd never seen wanted to speak. "Lost the entirety of Otyx to fire while trying to make an announcement of peace... Truly an act of spite, if I had to take a guess." He hadn't been there, although he'd heard more than enough about it. He also knew more than enough about it, but he wasn't one to really speak on such things, not without incentive.
Looking toward the half orc once more, he raised an eyebrow. "Why do you ask?"
(I'm sorry this took so long I'm lowkey suffering due to school)

(No worries, I get it. School kicked my butt a little. Like yesterday I wrote an eassy and turned it in today. I forgot a few minor things that will get some points knocked off for me, so that was a fun surprise this morning.)
To one side there was a quiet half-elf who seemed to be enjoying the bar himself. On the other side was a cloaked stranger, disinterested in whatever was going on around them. After he spoke, there was silence that settled in the air. Oswald was ready to give up and move on until he heard a voice beside him. The prince was surprised someone actually spoke up. Criminals seemed to prefer the silence of stranger, which wasn't entierly surprising to the half-orc. Some of them took jobs that could get then killed, especially if any information about them came out. At least he could assume as much. He wasn't exactly the type to hang around criminals and outlaws willingly. Oswald just grunted.
"Curious. I know I've heard the name Ga-Julei tossed around, however. People seem to think this guy- whoever they are -are in connection with the fire and the attack on the palace." Perhaps he was playing his cards too quickly. The name seemed to bring up ominous warnings from criminals and people seemed uncomfortable to talk about them. It was likely this half-elf would be no different. In fact, he would likely not know anything. The prince still had to try and get something, however. Maybe asking up front would prove to be a good thing. It was the only thing he could hope for,at least.

(oh I hate when that happens - and it's always like the simplest things too)
Curiousity? That wasn't enough to have him spill his guts, especially to a stranger. Well that, and he was rather forward. Surely this couldn't be mere curiosity... unless this is just how he was. Regardless, the elf wasn't entirely sure that he cared. Although that name - it was a dangerous one. He knew of it all too well, honestly. "Oh, really - is that what you've heard?" The elf mused, nodding slightly to the worker as his drink was topped off. "That's a dangerous name - I'd suggest keeping it out of your mouth. Unless you'd wanna end up like those poor citizens." He paused, taking a long sip from his glass.
The demon only watched him, eyes narrow. He knew something, and he was doing a poor job of keeping that unknown. The man would be lucky if he didn't rip him apart for acting so coy... Or, he was lucky that he couldn't. Possession fatigue was not something to be taken lightly, and it would leave him likely on the edge of passing out for at least a few hours, then he'd just be exhausted for a least a day. Even still, breaking a rib cage didn't take too much effort...
"Look, if you came for information, find it somewhere else. I don't know anything about Ga-Julei."
The statement was met with hiss from Cruva. The elf was sly, sure, but one could never get away with a lie in front of a demon. The elf knew something and he wanted to hear what it was, and it required more effort on his part, then fine, he didn't care. He was here to accomplish something, and he'd sooner die than leave with nothing.

(Yeah it had to be in MLA format and I forgot the professor's name. It was other small things like that, so nothing too big but also silly mistakes.)
"Yeah really," Oswald answered evenly. The elf spoke up once more, musing about how dangerous Ga-Julei was. The half-orc snorted. He knew the mysterious figure was dangerous- they had attacked the party with intent to kill Kiran and himself, murdered countless, unarmed guests, and set fire to Ortyx. It was safe to say he understood the threat the criminal posed. The stranger seemed almost unconcerned as he took a long swig from his drink. Oswald narrowed his eyes, trying to figure out how to get the other man to talk.
The elf seemed to know something about Ga-Julei, but was unwilling to say. The half-orc's suspicions were proven further by the criminal's denial about having no information. Cruva's dislike for the criminal's answers was made quite clear. Even without the demon hissing, Oswald could tell he was holding something back. After a moment, the half-orc tilted his head and leaned in slightly. It seemed to be right thing to do. He knew when making negotiations, sometimes it was important to reveal some interest. He hoped it worked in his favor for this conversation.
"Why is it so dangerous?" He asked. A part of him was quiet curious why it would be dangerous to ask about the assumed mastermind of the palace attack. However, the warning did make him a bit hesitant. Could he be endangering the lives of the party by asking his questions so bluntly? For the time being, Oswald had to push the thoughts from his mind and stay focus on the current situation. He studied the elf for a moment and scratched his chin. What are criminals motivated by? He thought for a moment. There were jobs, climbing the ranks of a crew, and, of course, money. With a small plan in his head, the half-orc spoke up.
"Listen, it seems you don't want to reveal the information you do have on Ga-Julei. With that said, I think we can come to some sort of agreement. You know, figure out a way for my questions to get answered and for you to get something you want." A bit of confidence swelled within Oswald. He, hopefully, would get somewhere with the new offer.

(oh god I've done that before and it's honestly the worst when you realize it)
Cruva glanced towards the prince during the exchange. He was doing rather well, it seemed all he had needed was a little push. After all, this conversation could've taken a nose dive minutes ago, though it seemed he'd gotten a hang of how to speak to the other. He only shifted a bit as his current perch leaned in slightly, likely trying to display interest. Judging by the way the elf besides them raised an eye brow, it seemed to work. Good - keeping the other man engaged was key to ripping information from him.
Why was it dangerous? Oh, if only he knew... "He doesn't like his name thrown around. People tend to disappear when they talk about him too much," the elf responded smoothly. "Too much talk gets a man caught, ya know?" Taking another sip of his drink, he turned slightly to glance around the rest of the building. People were simply milling around, generally sitting with their own groups or those that weren't quite a guild but had each others backs. There were some weapon exchanges, and others were telling tales of recent jobs they had completed. He had been waiting on a few people, though it seemed they were running late.
Amber eyes didn't turn back to the half-orc until he spoke of an agreement. Bold... Also very intriguing. A sly grin spreading across his features, he set his glass down. "An agreement, hm?" He did always like to listen to other's proposals, wondering what they would attempt to offer him. What he knew didn't come cheap, especially with something like this. "Something I want... Ah, I know. There's an enchanted ring I've been eyeing in a shop not too far from here. It gets kept in its own little case. Get it for me, and I'll answer your questions." He paused, resting his chin in his hand as he leaned on the counter a bit. "Or send your feline friend - it seems rather... intelligent." He wasn't going to come outright and say he was sure the animal he viewed wasn't just a cat. Rather, this would be enough to tell him what he needed to know and how careful he truly had to be.
While he didn't verbalize his distaste for the idea, the elf received a sharp look from the demon. Still, he supposed it was in their best interest that he just do it, should Oswald agree to such a thing. As far as he could tell, the elf was trying to test something. What it was, he didn't know, but he had a feeling it revolved around himself.
"Well, do we have a deal?"
