(Yep. XD And we'll have to remember to hold each other to it. XD )
"That might be, but you might want to get to know some of the other people at base before I do. Otherwise, you won't appreciate the information as much," Celia told him. That, and she didn't like to just talk about others to just anyone. While she meant no harm, she knew that some people didn't like it when past mistakes were brought up, as small as they might have been. Unlocking the car, she hopped into the driver's seat, waited to make sure Carter was in, and then began the car.
"That would be fair. I thought maybe thirty minutes. That seemed like a reasonable amount of time for someone to get stuck in traffic or run into some other set back without being too suspicious," she said. "I don't know if that'll be plenty of time or not, but I guess you'll be able to make the most of it."

(oof, that might be the harder part xD)
Carter nodded, humming a little in acknowledgment. He figured that was fair, and while part of him thought socializing with them wouldn't be hard this was a different group. He'd never really had to attempt to get along with a large group of humans that actually knew he wasn't human himself. While he was mildly concerned about any incidences of ignorance, he was more concerned about how he would react to it. It wasn't like he calmed down easily once he was angry, and ignorance was something he'd never tolerated well. Maybe he wouldn't hear as many stories as he thought... While that wasn't as fun, it would be for the better.
As the conversation turned back to the time span between their respective entrances, he nodded. "I can make it work - I've grown used to time constraints." Typically what would happen was he would start and end a job the same night, no matter how long it should have taken. While the time to beat was usually the sun, working under the pressure of time was not new to him. "I'll at least get through the alley next to the alley leading to the other side of the block assuming there isn't too much going on in the area."

(Lol, I hope you don't. XD)
"Good, just me mindful of the cameras they have near the back if you head in that direction," she reminded him. "And don't do anything to destroy them. That may do more harm than good. Our goal is for no one to remember us expect for those we question. The less attention, the better." In and out, that was how she liked to work. Stay as long as it took to gather the information and then leave as soon as possible. There was no sense in taking the risk of doing anything unnecessary unless it couldn't be helped. "If you pick up any signs of a demon, don't go after it. Stick to the plan. We'll see if he's at the cafe, and if he isn't, we'll see if we can't spot the human he's planning. If neither is there, then we'll go after whatever you find."

(So far I’m still alive xD)
Carter only nodded to the bit about the cameras. That is, until she said not to ruin them. “Right, leave the cameras in tact.” It wasn’t completely like him to destroy cameras, but he did tend to tamper with them a large portion of the time. Having taught himself to rig them to play over the same few seconds of inactivity, it was what he tended to do. There were part jobs where he’d completely ripped them from the wall while sitting in a blind spot, but those were in the past. She was right, though - pulling attention by acting in his typical manner would be a very poor choice. As Celia continued, the lupine nodded again. “Fine but if somebody picks a fight I’m gonna finish it,” he stated. Never the type to walk away from a fight, the werewolf had quickly learned how to fight in his freshman year of high school. He’d be lying if he said he’d turned down a fight since, but he could say he rarely started them.

Nodding, he glanced out the window as she parked. As she continued he couldn’t help but grin a little. “I will, I will. No blood, no tracks, no problem.” He liked time think he was good at accomplishing those things. After all, it’s been quite a few years since he’d pick up this line of work, which meant he’d had a lot of time to improve. “Well then, I’ll see you in half an hour,” Carter said, giving a short wave as he got out of the car. It didn’t take long for him to disappear into a decent sized group of people walking, turning the corner and starting down the block. He figured he’d start at the opposite end of the alley and work his way towards the cafe just in case he got held up.

(It's the worse. I thought it had left me yesterday, but this morning it came back with a vengeance. >.> And it's fine. I hope you had a good time at the wedding/everything went well.
Only $15? That sounds too good to be true. I got to go take a look at it. XD)
Satisfied that her partner wouldn't do anything too stupid in the thirty minute waiting period, Celia nodded. "See you," she said, hopping out of the car and heading towards the cafe. It was only then that she realized that maybe she should have taken the time to exchange phone numbers with the man in case something were to happened. It would have been the smart thing to do, but it was a detail that had been completely overlooked. Oh well, both of them had made it through plenty of jobs without another's assistance, so it should be fine this time around, right? Tucking that small worry to the back of her mind, she entered the cafe and took a seat at the nearest empty table she found to wait.

dude I will literally send you the link if you want its really nice)
The lupine made relatively quick work of getting around the block to the opposite side of the alley. On the way there, nothing really caught his interest. When he finally did back it to the start of the alley, he made his way between the buildings slowly. It seemed typical to him - kind of trashy, not really well kept, and maybe enough room for a compact car to fight down. But that was a hard maybe. None of the scents really seemed out of the ordinary either. 'The hell am I supposed do for for twenty more minutes?' Despite the lack of interesting details, he did continue down the alley, picking up a few trails of demons here and there.
It wasn't until he was right besides the cafe he picked up anything stronger. Right, that was something. Glancing up, he took not of the camera's attached to the side of the building. Okay, so it would be best not to hang around out here for too long. Rather than stop, he continued at his leisurely pace, doing his best to commit the scent to memory. It seemed to lead towards the door at the back of the building, but he was unwilling to check considering this part of the alley was actually under surveillance. With this small tidbit of information, he checked his phone. It was had been just about a half an hour. Well, by then it had been about forty minutes.
Slipping his phone back into his pocket, Carter left the alley and made his way into the cafe. It didn't take long for him to spot his partner, and within moments he was sitting across from her. "Hey, sorry I'm a bit late," he greeted, grinning a little despite the minimal change in knowledge. It was still something as far as he was concerned, and if it was the right demon he'd caught wind of, then everything would work out.

(Yeah, but it's getting better (maybe?). XD Yeah, that sounds like the type of social situation that I try to avoid as much as possible. XD But, at least it went well.
Sure! Don't know if I'll get it, but I'd love to see what it looks like.)
Celia sat down at the table and took out her phone. Setting it on the table, she alternated between looking around the room and playing some app she had brought up. The woman really had no interest in the game right now, but it was to help her look like any other person who might be there alone. After a couple of minutes, one of the employees came around to ask if she would be interested in anything. When this happened, he glanced up, gave a polite smile, and explained that she was waiting on her friend. To add to the story, she playfully rolled her eyes and complained that he could never be on time for anything. She was left alone after that with the offer that if she changed her mind, to let someone know.
Keeping up the casual appearance, Celia surveyed the crowd around her without actually staring at any of them. For the most part, there were a good deal of humans here. It was to bee expected. She figured that any supernatural creatures coming to partake in the cafe wouldn't want to be hanging out in the open. So the people around her quickly lost her attention. Instead, she focused on the people coming in. she had to be careful with this so she wouldn't draw any attention to herself in the process. The first few people to enter, she studied them out of the corner of her eyes, listening as best as she could to their orders. So far, no one had said the name of the drink Carter had told her served as the password. Around the twenty minute mark, however, she deemed it was fine to start lifting her head at the sound of the door opening. Playing the concerned and slightly annoyed friend, she hoped she gave off the appearance she was hoping it was her own companion who was walking into the building. With each newcomer, the woman tried to put on an air of controlled worry. She even took it as far as "calling" him to ask where he was. Carrying on fake conversations was a normal thing for her that she employed often, so checking in on her friend was no big deal.
It was just around the thirty minute mark when she finally heard the first of the strange orders. It surprised her to hear that she almost forgot that she couldn't just look up and see who was ordering it. No, instead, she leaned back in her seat, gave a sigh, and looked up at the menu as if finally tired of the long wait she was being made to endure. As she did, she caught sight of the person ordering. He looked like an average guy, a little on the buff side, average height, well kept beard. Werewolf? Could be. He didn't have the stupidly good looks angels and demons held. Could have been a vampire if it wasn't still too early for them. She checked her phone again, remaining in her seat. in the next ten minutes, two more special orders were placed, but she didn't try to watch and see where the customers were taken. She'd find that out in due time. Forty minutes had passed, and now she was seriously starting to wonder if something happened to Carter. The young woman was about to get up and go find out when he finally entered the building.
"A bit late? You told me you were fifteen minutes away when I called you," Cecile told lightly scolded him. "What on earth did you do to get sidetracked so badly?"

(oof I hope it is getting better!! Also yeahhh I realy didn't wanna go but it was my cousins weddings so I had to support him
Awesome! I'll find the link and post it here c: )
The lupine hadn't meant to take that long. The extra ten minutes had been spent casually backtracking the scent to the door and trying to ensure it was genuinely a demon. As the scent left the alley, it seemed to have gone in the opposite direction of the cafe. If nothing came about getting downstairs, they could check that out, he supposed. Still, he figured there would be questions later as to what had taken him so long to get here considering it had been a decent amount over the waiting time they had agreed on.
On the way in, he couldn't help but notice the scents of werewolf, and demon. The latter didn't match what he'd found outside, so he didn't take too much interest in it. As he sat and was scolded, Carter's grin only grew a bit. Right, they needed some sort of cover. Holding up his hands in mock surrender, he leaned back in the chair a little. "I was! And then I missed a turn and got a bit sidetracked," he replied, lowering his hands after a moment. "You know how I get when something catches my eye."
Scanning the menu, he didn't bother actually retaining any of the options. There was no point, really. Although, he seemed that they did have a wide variety of drinks. "Ready to order? Figure I've kept you waiting long enough."

(Lol, yeah, it got better finally. And then everything else started going on at once. I apologize.
Cool!)
Keeping up pretenses, Celia rolled her eyes. "Do I ever," she muttered, but let some of the annoyance slide from her voice. A petty squabble between friends that didn't hold any actual hurt feelings. "Yes, you have, and for that, you can pay. I'll take mine in a large please. With a cookie on the side." She didn't actually expect him to give an order save the fake one to get them into the basement. But it seemed like a natural enough statement between friends that she added it to make their cover believable.

Despite the fact that this scene between them was a total fabrication, he couldn't help but be amused by it. When she agreed that he had, in fact, kept her waiting too long, he nodded. "Large it is," Carter responded, waving over a server. And when they came over, he grinned up at them. "Can we get two large snowberry lattes with triple espresso?" The server glanced between them, for a moment, seemingly slightly surprised, though he nodded after a moment. "Of course - if you come with me to back, you can pick your snowberries."

That's the coolest thing I've ever seen!)
Celia stood up and walked with him towards the counter, however, she allowed him to do all the talking. She noticed the surprised on the employee's face, but made sure to keep her own neutral. If he thought it strange for them to have ordered the drink, then they could simply play it off as they were new to the neighborhood and heard of the place through rumors. It wouldn't be a total lie, save for the fact that she probably had no business entering the cafe's secret wing where the supernaturals chose to spend their time. If anyone could tell she was just human, there would be plenty of covers to use, though none had been discussed before they got here. They really hadn't planned as well as they should have, but oh well. They were just going to have to make the most of it.

The server lead the pair behind the counter and down the hall. It the end of the hall turned to the left before giving way to stairs that Carter could only assume lead to the basement. The server went down the stairs first, stopping at the door that was found at the end of them, pulling a key from his back pocket and unlocking it. "Please enjoy your stay, and welcome to the family." He said nothing more as he opened the door, motioning for them to head downstairs.
The lupine only watched as the door was opened and they were welcomed. He nodded slightly walking through the door. It lead down a short hallway that did open up into a much larger space. The lights were dim, there was music playing at a decent volume, and it was a little more on the crowded side. As for the space itself, the basement seemed larger than the building above, which he found a little interesting. The door closed behind them, and Carter found himself simply observing those who were already down here. There were a variety of creatures here judging by the mingling scents.
To him, it just looked like any other underground hang out. The only difference was there weren't as many humans as he expected.

(Drowning in procrastination. XD My grandmother's doing a little better. She go to come home last night, so that's a good thing. I've been trying to finish up some final project due this week. I told myself I wasn't going to put it off to the last minute, but here I am.
How are you doing?)
Celia stayed behind Carter the entire walk. She knew that this wasn't the place she should be, so the less attention she dragged to herself, the better. The moment they walked down the stairs and had the door closed behind them, she knew she had left humans on the top floor. Here, she was surrounded by creatures, she was sure. If there were other humans around, it was hard to tell which ones they were. There were too many other creatures who wore human faces to make that judgement on quick glances.
"So, where to first?" the woman asked Carter, talking at a volume she hoped only he could hear her. It was difficult since the music and conversations around them were so loud.

(that's honestly such a big mood omg xD also that's good that she got to come home! also I believe in you! you're gonna kick that project's butt!
I'm okay! I'm super tired but okay!)
The change in stimulus was overwhelming. Too many scents in one away, too much going on visually, and he didn't even want to think about all the sounds. For a few moments, after the door shut, he couldn't quite focus on anything. When Celia spoke up, the lupine looked over to her, blinking for a second. Where... Right. They were here to do something. "I'm not sure..." he responded, looking back through the crowd. He hadn't expected there to be so many people down here, but for a moment, he thought that he definitely should have. Letting himself adjust to the sound at the very least, he was finally able to pick up on separate conversations, none of which sounded very important to him currently.
"I guess the bar on the opposite side of the room - can at least get a feel of the crowd on the way there," he suggested. Right now, it was the only thing he could really think of, as the sights and smells were still a bit much for him.

(Sadly, the good didn't last long. She took a worse turn and she passed away last night. Sorry for not warning you, but that's part of why I've been spotty. I just haven't had the ability to channel Celia during all of this.)
Celia nodded. The crowded atmosphere was a little surprising even to her, but she also didn't have the heighten senses that Carter had. So she was able to withstand it a little better. That didn't mean she enjoyed it, but she wasn't overwhelmed by it. "Bar it is," she agreed. "Would you prefer to do the talking, or should I?" Before, she had said that it might be a good idea to have Carter make first impressions. However, she noticed the slight distraction in his tone when he answered. If he needed a moment to gather himself, then she had enough skill to get a normal conversation going with the bartender if no one else.
