(I tend to write long starters, especially for new characters. Feel free to reply with something shorter.)
Everything was quiet in Terrence's corner of town. True most of it was due to high tensions from the vampire feuds, so very few wandered around at night. Being late also probably had something to do with it. The tall man silently sorted through his shelves, taking down the older potions to put them in discount area. Most were common healing elixirs, vials of things like acid, potions to physically enhance a person, or bottles filled with stuff to help someone sleep. Others meanwhile were more specialty brews of varying effects. As he sorted through the vials, he could hear a familiar raspy chuckle. "Spending another quiet night in are we Terrence?" She asked, though there was almost a taunt behind her words. The man rolled his eyes as he lugged the box to the discount shelves. He didn't mind keeping the old bird waiting for a reply. After a moment, he glanced towards his familiar. "And where have ya been? Off causing trouble?"
"I'll have you know I don't cause trouble, it just finds me. And no, I was interested in scouting around a bit. You may be interested to know there's someone new in town. I'm not sure what she is, but I do know she's held up in the Sirideán." The witch only grunted in reply as he began to stock the discount shelf. As he finished, he glanced back at the black vulture. "That's none of mah business. Besides, I would prefer to leave the folks at the Sirideán alone. They're an...interestin bunch. Anyway, of course I stayin in 'cause of the vampiah feud. I'm not ahbout to risk mah life for a little night out, Velvetwings." The vulture shook her head and scoffed. Terrence ignored her as he tossed the empty box behind the counter and grabbed his supply list. "You're no fun," Lady Velverwings rasped, "What's a little run in with a vampire goning to do? You'd be fine and make it out alive, though I think you're just afraid of them."
"I'm not ahfraid, I just prefer to live." The potionsmaster mulled over his stock, tuning his familiar out. She contiuned to ramble on about whoknowswhat as the witch scribbled down his notes. Although he was sucked into his work, Terrence did hear when someone entered. He kept his focus on his list, but still tipped his hat in greeting. "Welcome to Abbot Potions. We have ingredients ovah here and your potions ovah there. If ya have any questions, just ask."

"This right here is why we don't go around town advertising human flesh."Natrye growled as he swung by the leg in an alley with a rope around it tied by a metal nail."This is also why you don't let them catch you."He spat back.He strained his head to see the rest of himself. His black fur was all over the place and just pitiful to look at.His flanks extracted then contracted with his steady breaths and his claws flexed in and out.He obviously couldn't see his teeth but he imagined them as yellow as always but gaping open and dropping saliva as he snapped at himself. His grey eyes were probably blood shot, being upside down with not practical way of getting down.
So here he was.Hanging in an alley looking like he just almost overdosed or something."Why didn't you just run or simply knock them away when they tied you?"He sneered."Because that would imply two things, one:Doing things, and two:Hurting others. Two things I am against."

(I tend to write long starters, especially for new characters. Feel free to reply with something shorter.) Everything was quiet in Terrence's corner of town. True most of it was due to high tensions from the vampire feuds, so very few wandered around at night. Being late also probably had something to do with it. The tall man silently sorted through his shelves, taking down the older potions to put them in discount area. Most were common healing elixirs, vials of things like acjd, potions to physically enhance a person, or bottles filled with stuff to help someone sleep. As he sorted through the vials, he could hear a familiar raspy chuckle. "Spending another quiet night in are we Terrence?" She asked, though there was almost a taunt behind her words. The man rolled his eyes as he lugged the box to the discount shelves. "Yeah, of course I am 'cause of the vampiah feud. I'm not ahbout to risk mah life for a little night out." The witch began to stock the case as the black vulture groaned. He heard the sound of flapping wings as the familiar moved closer. "You're no fun," she rasped, "What's a little run in with a vampire goning to do? You'd be fine and make it out alive. I think you're just afraid of adventure." Terrence scoffed and finished restocking the shelf, ignoring the vulture. He tossed the box behind the counter and pulled out his supply list, quickly mulling over his stock. He scribbled down what he needed and what he had enough of before moving on to the section of his store full of ingredients. As he finished his list, he heard someone come in. He kept focus on his task and gave his typical opening. "Welcome to Abbot Potions. We have ingredients ovah here and your potions ovah there. If ya have any questions, just ask." Kograth managed to catch the end of the conversation between the shopkeeper and, as he came to realize, the black bird. It was some kind of familiar, he figured. The demon grimaced, nudging his way through the door with the body over his shoulder. He carried his dead ally as carefully as possible. "A run-in with a vampire," he said, peering over to where the vulture was perched. "Might leave the wrong person in the same boat as Xarga here." And he turned to look at the body, skin drained of its vibrant purple and with puncture wounds in the neck. "My first time here." He almost cracked a smile despite himself, looking around to meet Terrence's gaze. "I don't suppose you have any revival potions?" He hoped the dry humor was evident. He had actually planned to get something to help fortify himself against vampires, or other creatures that might come after him in the darkness, while he searched for a place to bury his friend.

The witch looked up from his notes and glanced at the stranger. He paused and stared, brown eyes wide and mouth slightly agape. There was a tall demon carrying what he assumed was the corpse of another. The body's purple skin appeared unnaturally pale while their eyes looked to be sunken in. Terrence didn't know what to say as his mouth fell agape. Quickly, he cleared his throat and put the supply list in his back pocket. After he collected himself, he patted down his clothing and nodded. "Well, that seems ta be the work of one alright. Where did it happen and how long ago was it?" The cowboy didn't wait for an answer as he searched through his shelves for a moment. He grabbed a rose, twig from a rowan tree, and a vial of holy water with a stalk of vervain floating in the liquid. He approched the demon and the corpse with hurried movements.
"Well, I wish we met under better circumstances. I'm Terrence, Terrence Abbott." It wasn't the best time for introductions, but perhaps a friendly greeting would ease any nervousness either of them felt. "Unfortunately I don't have anythin to help yer buddy here. Well anythin to revive 'em. At best, I can make sure the body doesn't reanimante and give ya somethin to protect yerself from them blood-suckers." Terrence wasn't an expert on vampires. He had no clue if Xarga- he assumed that was the purple demon's name -was truly dead or if he'd pop back up. He also wasn't entirely sure what worked to ward off certian vampires. From his expierence they all had a different set of weakness, however they were also consistent. Two vampires could both be awarded off with garlic, but other weakness could be different. As he gazed at the corpse, he signled for Kograth to move back.

"It was just down the road. Maybe a half a mile, about 10 or 15 minutes ago." Xarga was still warm, and would stay that way for a while, even without blood; demons of their kind tended to run hot. "It was the Eyes of Death that did him in," murmured Kograth, eyes narrowed.
"Terrence. Nice to meet you." He bowed his head slightly in greeting. It was clear the shopkeeper, Terrence, was some sort of immortal, or at least something very long-lived; he spoke and looked as if he came from a different time. Kograth himself might be a strange sight, he realized; a mangenta-skinned, dark-horned demon with talons on his hands and feet, in those modern dress pants and that loose, unbuttoned white shirt. "I'm Kograth."
He grimaced, imagining Xarga in that bloodless state, reanimated by an evil sorcerer's magic, or by a spirit in search of a corporeal host. "...Both would be helpful. I have a bit of a ways to go to find a burial site, so...protection is good."

The witch nodded as he set the supplies down. He scratched his chin for a moment and frowned. Knowing The Bringer of Death was near by, or at least had been, was unsettling. The fact he had been so bold about the attack was also something the cowboy had to be wary about. He shot Lady Velvetwings a concerned look that was laced with an "I told you so". The bird rolled her eyes and glared. "And that's why I didn't go out tonight. I coulda ended up like this poor fellah here." He gestered to the demon's body as he contiuned his work. The freckled man poured some of the vervain infusion on his hands. The holy water stung his fingers as he began to sprinkled it on Xarga. The term holy water was slightly misleading. It was simply water that went through some magical process to purify it, or "bless" it, mixed with drops of blood or tears from an angel. Terrence didn't know exactly how it qorked or why it had different reactions to different creatures, nor did he care. It was just the way things were, the way it worked.
"Oh stop that, you would've been fine." Velevetwings' raspy voice caught his attention. "You have enough material in the shop alone to win in a fight against a vampire!" The familiar's answer was full of encouragement, though the man just ignored her. As he placed the fully bloomed rose and rowan branch over the Xarga's chest, the magenta demon introduced himself. Terrence nodded. "Nice to meet your acquaintance, Kograth. As I sayd, I wish it was undah better circumstances." Terrence paused for a moment and got up. He grabbed a bundle of sage, matches made of ash wood, and ash from rowan wood. He quickly headed back to Kograth and Xarga, kneeling beside the body. Holding the sage tightly, he lit one of the matches and held it towards the dry leaves of the bundle. He kept the small flame near the stalks until they were all singed. The scent of sage filled the air as he traced the smoke over the body. After Terrence had completely went over what was Xarga, he placed the bundle with the rose and rowan branch. He finally sprinkled the rowan ash, mumbling a prayer under his breath. It wasn't part of the ceremony, just something he'd gotten in the habit of over the years.
Once he was done, he put closed the bag of ash and wiped off his hands on his jeans. He got up and rubbed the back if his neck. "Your...friend's body should be safe. Now we just need a place to bury 'em. Preferably by an oak, rowan, ash, or hazel tree if we can fine one just ta be safe. I cahn get us means of protection as well before we go out."

Kograth nodded, respectfully. "Thank you... if Xarga's body was possessed somehow, it would be bad luck for all of us." Curiously, the demon watched as Terrence performed the ritual, including a prayer. Being demons, they prayed to no typical gods; but there were figures in their lives that played a similar role in giving strength and watching over certain places.
The man seemed convinced of the need to bury Kograth's own friend by a particular tree, for further protection. He had planned to show it to what else remained of his troop of allies, but admittedly that trek wasn't incredibly appealing. Instead, to show his comrades the cruelty of the vampire he'd come across, Kograth gently pulled off Xarga's jewelry: a choker and two sets of earrings. The demon placed them in his pockets and huffed.
"You know, you don't need to come with me to find a grave site. You were just talking with your-- your bird about not wanting to be out at night."

"Of course," Terrence said. "I doubt any of us would want to fight your friend. Rather whatever could possess him I suppose." The man paused for a moment as he collected back his supplies. None of it would go back on the shelves, it wouldn't be right. Instead and headed behind the counter and placed the material on a shelf. While back there, he gave his armadillo a pat on the head. Sir Rollington simply blinked at the witch before curling up back on his velvet pillow. Terrence smiled before getting walking towards the demons and Lady Velvetwings. He glanced over the demon's body for a moment, nodding and scratching his chin. It was now throughly protected, now it just needed a final resting place.
The man was caught slightly off guard when Kograth said he didn't have toncome. Terrence offered a smile. "Nonesense. I'm gonna see this through and you shouldn't have ta bury yer friend alone. And yeah I did say I wanted to stay in, but that was before," he paused for a moment and gestered to Xarga's body, "this."
(No worries. My reply was a little shorter than usual too. Next one will be better~)

The witch gazed at Zagroth as he replied. "No extra cost or pay. It's just the neighborly thing to do." Terrence slightly reached put to help life the body, but the magenta demon seemed to have it covered. He gave a simple nod before grabbing his keys and heading towards the door. He knew a good place to bury the corpse, however he would also ask Zagroth. It wouldn't be fair to decide a resting place for someone he didn't know. The deceased demon deserved to have a friend decide what should happen with them.
Terrence began to exit his shop, holding the door for everyone to join him. Once everyone was out, he turned to lock up. However, he paused and stuck his head in. "Sir Rollington, you're in charge while we're gone." He quickly closed the door and locked it tightly behind him.
"Why do you always do that?" Lady Velevetwings inquired.
"Because nothin bad has ever happened when I said it."
