Sephtis was a powerful being, one of the most powerful of his kind. However, even he had his weaknesses and well, after killing that demon and having just eaten he did find that his movements were horribly slow. Stepping out of the shadows he leaned heavily against his cane, taking a moment to gather himself. As he let go a deep breath, he straightened and raised his head, bi-colored eyes falling upon a familiar building. Ah, so they found their way here? Lucky.
Pressing his lips together, the vampire debated whether or not to go inside. Being neutral territory he had to obey the rules and not start a fight, much less kind another creature. Still... That was why he was here, was it not? So, why go in and have to be... polite to this intruder? Of course, Sephtis wasn't necessary here to kill them after all, since they hadn't yet stepped onto his territory, he was here more as a warning than a killer.
Not to mention he could use a drink right about now. Glowing eyes glanced towards the night sky, and he estimated it to be just a few hours before dawn. Making up his mind, he strode forward, cane clicking softly upon the pavement. Reaching the door, Sephtis raised a gloved hand and knocked thrice on the door.

(Yeah storms really screw up the connection, but I live in the country, so that certainly doesn't help. We have connection problems every few weeks and major ones every 3-6 months. Not fun.
That's what I do as well. It makes things a lot easier to reply to so I'm not switching between two pages constantly.)
With a playful roll of her eyes at the man's display, Del's smile slightly grew. Perhaps Imp- and by default Mirza -was bad news, or perhaps he was a potential friend. She wasn't sure which he was, but truly hoped it was the latter. She rather liked the warlock despite only knowing him briefly. She was charmed by his mannerisms and flair for the dramatic, but also appreciated his willingness to help her out.
Del listened intently as he began to answer her questions. With every response she made a mental note to keep in mind for later. It would all be helpful information on one level or another. When he finished the first round of questions, the angel launched into a reply. "Appearing one day would be quite the story. After all, how many people could say they poofed into exsistence? I know I certainly can't. Anyway, the connection sounds fascinating! Is it annoying to have someone knowing everything about you all the time? Factoring out the separation, does it bother you guys to occupy the same body most of the time? I can imagine it may be diffcult to agree where to go or what to do." She paused briefly and hoped she wasn't making Imp, or even Mirza, uncomfortable.
Excitment danced in her hazel eyes. "That's good, especially because I have a lot more questions to ask." She was relived when he was the one suggesting she take notes- it would be less suspicious that way. Of course it wasn't like she was doing anything wrong with the information; she was simply trying to figure out the new world. As they walked, the woman shifted her backpack in front of her and pulled out a purple notebook with stickers on the front. It was a little less than half used with pages full of things her father told her, pictures, research she had done online, and the little she was able to get from wandering the town. Flipping to the next clean page, Del began to scribble the nee information down. Once caught up, she put the tip of the pen to her lips as she thought of other questions she could ask. She had hundreds, it was just a matter of figuring out which ones were most important to ask about.
Partically lit streets were starting to disappear behind them as they made their way into the more populated areas of the town. In the darkness, Del didn't have much of an idea of where exactly they were. It wasn't helped by the fact she still didn't know the layout of the town well either. She still didn't trust Imp yet, but was growing more comfortable around him. He lead them into town as oppose away. Del had gotten distracted enough that she wouldn't have noticed if he had led them away. She was starting to trust him, if only just a smidge. Her attention snapped back to Imp when he mentioned getting a dragon. Del frantically shook her hands. "No, no, no I don't want any dragon eggs. I was just surprised that I could get them. Anyway I only found out about eight months ago I wasn't completely human. I've been in town for about a month, so everything is still kinda new to me." She hesitated for a moment and blinked at the man. At home her family always had dogs or cats. She missed the prence if an animal at her side whenever she was at home relaxing. "On second thought, how big do dragons get? Are they like dogs where they come in various sizes?" She chewed on her lip for a moment. Was she actually considering getting a dragon? Although it might not be the best idea, Del couldn't help but have a twinge excitment nip at her chest.
"Perfect!" Delphinium's face brightened. The fact that there were two people who could answer her questions was something she was looking forward to. She might even get more information from it. She briefly thought of what she should ask. Mostly undecided on what she should say, the angel just asked the first questions that came to mind. "Not as important, but how are you communicating with me? Your mouth hasn't moved once from what I noticed. In folklore names are a powerful thing. Is that true or just something that was made up by humans? Also what's going on with the vampires? I've heard people say something about some territorial scuffles but nothing else beyond that. Is it something I should worry about?" It was a lot to throw out at once, but all the questions seemed important to her- except for the first one. She was genuinely curious about how communication was possible between them. As Imp stumbled, Del couldn't hold back her giggle. She blushed slightly and covered her face with her purple notebook. "Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh." She was easily humored and someone almost falling always made her giggle. In fact almost anything could get her to laugh.
(Accurate.)

(XD Oh, how I hope we get a chance to experience that.)
An overgrown reptile, whatever that meant, a warlock, and a fae. It took Dakota a moment before she remembered that was another way to describe fairies or fair folk. She knew a little of Celtic folklore, but it had been a while since she had read anything about them. Which one did that make him? Certainly not the reptile, that she was confident in. The fae, then? Her mind pictured warlocks as being much more dark and sinister. He was quiet the opposite. His charm and accent would qualify him as being a fae. Weren't they supposed to be tricksters? She hoped she was remembering wrong.
So vampires and demons were the things he was warning her of. Good to know. She had already been bitten by one creature, and she had no desire to be bitten by another kind. She was barely settled into this new fate in her life as it was. There was also a possibility that there were more werewolves. "I don't know if that's something I want or not," she admitted. While she would like to have someone explain things to her, the thought of joining a group of werewolves was a little terrifying. There would be no going back if she joined, not without putting more complications into her life. She finally took a sip of her drink. "How long am I allowed to stay here?" she asked. Eventually, her funds would run low. Since she had no idea what a room would cost her a night, she wanted to know how long she would be accepted in the Sirideán before she would be forced to find somewhere else to stay.

{ oof sounds like a lot! Lately we've been getting a lot of hurricane/tornado-like weather when it storms, but not terribly often. }
She's so excited~! Hazel eyes practically shining as she listens intently to him only to fire off another round of questions. It's been a while since someone actually gave him so much positive attention, and Imp practically glows under it- Del's eager responses only bolstering his own. "We've been together since I was born, so we're used to it~" Imp begins to gesture animatedly as he speaks, though the gestures don't actually match what he's saying- he just likes to move. "We take turns, usually. I'm in full control right now but Mirza can take over when he wants~ I tend to have free reign, though! He only comes out when he's really interested in something or needs to use his magic, and he doesn't always have to share my consciousness so we can keep things separate, if need be~"
When Del pauses, Imp takes the opportunity to make some inquiries of his own. He wants to know about her, too! "You sound kinda like a reporter- or a writer- what did you do before coming here?" And he wonders what she's doing now, besides wandering around with a bag that he suspects is full of interesting things to further her investigation. He's proven correct when he watches her retrieve a purple sticker-covered notebook from her backpack and flip through pages already covered with notes and pictures to find a blank page.
He laughs outright when she frantically waves her hands at him, insisting that she doesn't actually want a dragon she's just curious- before tentatively inquiring about them like one would a potential pet. Pffft haha! Imp delicately presses the bare tips of a gloved hand to twitching lips- a habit he picked up from Lach- and struggles to keep his tone level as he speaks. "Yep~! Various sizes!" He almost feels bad, kind of. She looks so happy he also kind of wants to get her a dragon just to see how happy she can get. Fortunately, that is a distinct possibility! Theoretically~ It's a good thing Mirza is busy, because he would crush Imp under the weight of his disapproval. Imp likes to toe the line and he absolutely hates the warlock being right on a technicality. Two plays in one~
"You've only been here about a month? Oh! That explains why we haven't noticed you before now- Mirza and I just got back from a job~" Interesting that she only found out about her heritage not long ago either- he wonders how much training she's had in it? She'll need to learn how to protect herself if she's going to live here- Mirza wouldn't mind teaching her though, he knows. It's probably what drew him to her in the first place; Mirza seems to have a soft spot for angels, though he'd never admit it.
"Oh, I don't have a voice. My hat is enchanted to speak for me~" He gestures to the ragged mouth sewn into one of the sable folds, an orange felt tongue revealed when it repeats the words he'd intended. "See~?"
Of course she did her research~ "That's true! Mirza isn't his real name, so it's fine though~ Hm-" He tilts his head pensively. "-and that mostly applies to creatures and beings who know how best to utilize it. So the fair folk, onmyouji and those like them- here it'd mainly apply to demons~ You can summon them if you know their true name, and bind them to you if you know the proper ritual."
Mirza begins to drift back into him as they near their destination, and Imp takes in a grateful breath of air before continuing. "Oh that? We've been out of town so we don't know much yet, but It's probably nothing for you to worry about, specifically." He waves a hand to dismiss it. "They've got everyone riled up though, probably why the streets are so empty...If you stick with us, we'll help keep you safe~" Imp winks and flashes her another brilliant grin.
He recovers quickly from his stumble, returning Del's giggle with a chuckle of his own. She's trying to hide her smile behind her book, but he can see it in her eyes. Angel laughs are really something else~ "You're so cute~!" He kinda wants to hug her but Mirza is 99% of his impulse control so he's forced to channel that energy into something 'productive'. Still grinning, Imp finally swings around to face forward and knocks on the door he'd led her to. It's just a formality, because shortly afterward he simply reaches into Sort's mouth and withdraws a shimmering gothic key with his name inscribed in illegible script.
"Here we go~ A store! Of sorts~" Technically, it does have the appearance of a shopfront. And you can buy things from it. So. "Come in!" Imp whirls on the threshold with a snap of his cloak and gestures Del into the building, aware that it's currently occupied- But, well, the vampire can't very well chase her out from here, at least. And he can feel Lian looming somewhere behind him, which is perfect on two counts. "You have more questions, right? Well there's someone I'd like you to meet~"
And there's a slim chance that introducing her to the 'Eyes of Death' would make her look like less of a snack haha~

{ And here I finally introduce Lianlian~ My apologies in advance for how long this is! And how I ended it- I swear Imp writes himself- }
"Ah, that's understandable." He nods, "there's someone else you might be interested in meeting in regards to the subject, however~" There was another new wolf in town. Perhaps he can wave the two together- in truth, his kind aren't particularly fond of other predators, territorial lot that they are, so he isn't well-versed in werewolf politics and the like. Lach can't help giving this newbie a bit of a pass, however. She has a good head on her shoulders and isn't so steeped in her other half that it drastically alters her personality. There's also a chance that she'll continue to maintain the balance, if she's gotten this far. Must be strong-willed as well.
"Depends on how long you plan to stay~" Lach hums, absently swirling the glittering liquid in his glass. The fair folk can make a good wine, at least. "You don't feel as if you're well equipped for human civilization yet, mm? If you decide to stay in town to learn more about yourself, perhaps master your control, then I'm sure we can work something out~" He favors her with an amiable grin. "I wouldn't mind having more help around the place~" Many of the Sirideán's past and present residents had taken up positions to pay for their time, so it wouldn't be a first. And the extra labor had the added positive of helping balance his checkbooks, so to speak- As well as pleasing Lian, who could get protective of newcomers.
Speak of the reptile...There's a shadow on the balcony looking over the center of the room. The rustle of silk against scales- Lian appears at the top of the stairs in an enviously dramatic fashion. He doesn't even intend to be- he just has that graceful, effortlessly ethereal quality that is irksomely dissimilar to Lach's own. Garbed in rich green silks edged in gold; gossamer fabric of a paler celadon shade that fades into gold draped from his shoulders and wisping behind him with his movements- It brushes his veritable waterfall of sleek hair, a sable shade that nonetheless displays the blue-green tint of uncharted waters. Though swept up into a knot kept by a crossing of jade hairpins, it's so long that it threatens to brush the steps as he descends. A swathe covers much of the upper left side and conceals his missing eye, but what remains of Lian's face is near frigid in its beauty- reminiscent of an art meant to be appreciated from afar- even if the 'freckles' of minuscule silver and verdant scales that spread over the bridge of his nose and cheeks don't warn of his 'other'ness, his horns and tail certainly do. Both are an onyx so dark they can hardly be perceived in the shadows- until he glides forward and the celadon webbing between his horns catches the light, glimmering like jade in a clear stream.
Normally, Lach would be a touch irritated with Lian swanning in when he's chatting with customers- he's always such a spectacle- but the rhythmic whispering of fabric alerts him to the irate lashing of said spectacle's tail, the tufted tip briefly flicking into view in an amusingly feline-like motion. Even his hair is reflective of his current feelings; normally flowing like water, it has taken up the occasional disturbed ripple before undulating in a nonexistent breeze as three knocks sound at the door. Lian's singly visible jade eye narrows and focuses on the yew with such intensity that Lach almost questions its sturdiness.
Lach heaves a goodnatured sigh before excusing himself to answer it. Lian hurls knives into his back with his gaze. Undeterred, Lach swings it open with a practiced smile. Predictably, there's a familiar masked vampire on the other side, one hand resting casually on his cane. He smells of freshly spilled blood, but that's to be expected- "Evenin'! What brings the esteemed king of the vampires to our humble establishment~?" The title he inserts intentionally, allowing Dakota to know who her fellow visitor is. "Out for a nightcap~?" Lach steps back and sweeps a hand inside. "Welcome in~" Said a touch quickly, so that Lian can't refute the statement and leave the vampire on the threshold.
Lian does, however, find another way to make his distaste known. "Yes." A golden fan appears from within his sleeve, the tassel flashing with the aggressiveness of the movement as he snaps it open to obscure the lower half of his face. When suitably worked up, he finds it difficult to modulate his expressions and so hides the bulk of them behind his fan. Lach suspects that this does more harm than good, as it's proof that Sephtis gets to him. "What brings you to mine, oh esteemed one?" The smoky rasp of Lian's tenor is more pronounced as his eye narrows. He always chooses to address the vampire in his ancient native tongue- there are more ways to subtly insult and disrespect him within the tonalities of his own language. Lach is still familiarizing himself with it, but it isn't difficult to detect the caustic bite in his words. His territory has been invaded, as far as he's concerned, and his hackles are raised.
Lach shoots Dakota an exasperated smile as he slips back behind the bar. Lian can be like one of those poorly-trained guard dogs that bark incessantly at the mere notion of someone approaching their porch. It was mainly Lach's decision to make the establishment a neutral place. Lian is more selective. In an effort to distract them, he circles a finger around the rim of his glass to create a ringing sound. Lian twitches. "Miss Dakota, I'd like to introduce you to his Eminence, Huangdi Lianfo- and King Sephtis Leos."
This succeeds in drawing the lizard's attention, at least in part. Lianfo seems to compose himself and dips his head in a regal greeting. "We are pleased to make your acquaintance." Delivered in heavily accented English, though he manages not to stumble over the syllables. (Lach smiles at the knowledge that he'd once caught him practicing in the mirror with a determined pout) Compared to his previous words, the less emotionally charged tone reveals that his voice is surprisingly light and lyrical for one of his imposing stature. Lianfo even sees fit to accompany the greeting with a small smile revealed behind the tilt of his fan. "You are welcome here." A side-long look makes it clear that she's the only one.
At least until Impossible waltzes in with a vaguely familiar blonde in tow. Ah, more guests~ This is starting to get rather lively. "That's our warlock." He tilts his head toward the energetic man in explanation. Dakota probably wanted a quiet moment to acclimate herself to the surroundings- but evidently they won't be having that.
"Welcome back~ How was your-" Impossible barely spares him a glance, eyes fairly glowing under the wide brim of his hat, smile large and crooked as he determinedly brings his new...friend over to Lianfo. Lach finds his own smile widening in response. This promises to be entertaining.
"Hey Lianlian~ Del here feels she's ready to have a little dragon in her life, think you can help with that~?"
Lianfo drops his fan.

(Yay! I don't mind if it's long. The longer the better. ^^
Poor Lian. Everyone's invading his home in the wee hours of morning. XD I can see Lian being the "father" figure here, having to put up with all his hooligan children running about everywhere.)
So he did now of someone who would be able to help answer her questions? The was a good thing, she guessed, even if she didn't seem ready to actually meet him yet. A good night's sleep and a well needed bath would hopefully put her into a better mindset of making those decisions in the morning. She had a lot to consider, after all. At least Lach had given her a way to have a place to stay until then. "Of course, I'd be happy to help out around here," she told him. That is, if she stayed for that long. Having a week to stay in one place sounded really good, even with the knowledge of possible vampires and demons lurking around the city. He had said she would be safe inside, so it would be fine, wouldn't it?
Just as she was having this thought, she heard the sound of fabric rustling, and her eyes turned upward, hunting the sound. Her eyes widened at the sight of the new comer. The man walking down the stares would have been more at home in a Chinese palace than the quaint little bar they were in currently. She had never seen anyone look so regal in her life. While Lach was a sight to behold, he held little adornments. His looks were purely his own. The man joining them was equally mesmerizing, but the shimmering jade bits in his hair added to his aesthetic. For a moment, she thought him to be another fae, that is, until he stepped more into the light. Then the horns atop his head and tail became more visible. The young woman took small intake of breath from the shock of it, not being able to help herself as she stared at him. Before anything could be said, though, a knock sounded at the door. Remembering herself, she looked away from the man to watch as Lach went to answer the door. Wait? Did he just say "king of the vampires?"
Dakota watched as the new guest stepped into the room, unsure what to think at this point. Well, first off, she was wondering if it was a good idea letting a vampire inside. From the looks of things, Lian looked less than thrilled as well. Yet, since this was not her place, she had no say in that matter. Instead, she sat still and silent as she watched the three men, curious and a little unnerved by the masked vampire now before them. It was safe to say she was glad when Lach joined her again at the bar. She might not know exactly what he was, but he was the one whom she "knew" better than the others. At least the welcoming tone Lian used when addressing her helped a bit. So he didn't object to her presence either. That was good. The woman gave a small smile in return. It wasn't long before another person, or rather two people, appeared in the room as well. The warlock. He didn't seem to pay anyone any attention as he ran over to Lian, talking about dragons. What had she gotten into?

(Yeah it's not fun, but it could be worse. Hurricane-like/tornado-like conditions sound terrible, but at least it doesn't happen all the time. Also good luck with work, hope everything goes smoothly.)
She copied the new information in long, elegant strokes of her pen and only nodded in reply. The demon- she suspected he was a demon due to his previous words -contiuned to explain how he and Mirza worked. Del hadn't heard of something like them before, though she was sure there must be something in some legend. When Imp asked his own question, the woman was slightly caught off guard. It made sense that he would want to know things about her, especially with her asking all the questions. However she was surprised he asked about her journalist expierence and not what she was. Perhaps he already knew she was something of an angel, or maybe he just didn't care. Del wasn't quite sure, but didn't dwell on it. "Well I'm a bit of a scientist at heart. Kind of ironic I suppose considering what most people believe about," she paused for a moment and gestered around her, "all this. You're not far off from your journalist/writer prediction, though. I was working towards an English degree and helped out with the college paper. Then I found out about what I am and dropped everything. It was probably foolish, but I had to come, to explore and find out about it all." Although her voice was soft, there was a clear passion behind her words.
Del playfully stuck her tongue out when Imp began to laugh. She couldn't blame him for finding the situation humorous. She just denied wanting a dragon, then asked about them with interest moments later. Even considering a beast of ancient renown as a pet was a terrible idea. However the prospect of being able to study one was enticing along with the possibility of having an animal compaion. The idea was comforting to her. It had been a while since she had anything like that, but perhaps getting an actual cat or dog would be better. She didn't know the first thing about real dragons and would ultimately have no idea how to manage one. With all the dragon talk and the reality of the idea only starting to be realized, Del was grateful for a change of topic. "Yeah, though it's felt like a long month. I'm learning new things daily and it's still a bit weird to wake up in a town full of others like me, others who aren't supposed to be real. Anyway that's not all that interesting. Did your job go well?" The quarter-angel wasn't going press for information, especially if the man wanted to keep the details secret.
As Imp pointed to his hat, the woman narrowed her eyes quizzically and stepped closer. She gazed up at the hat and observed it earnestly. When its mouth- or what she assumed to be one -moved, the young angel stepped back in surprise though her eyes were full of wonder. If there was a hat that expressed the thoughts of a begin, what other magical objects could there be? The ideas seemed nearly endless to her. Imp's eager reply to her next question snapped her back to the moment. Once more she copied down his words. "So a creature like an angel or werewolf would be safe to share their name?" She was sure the answer would probably be no, but it was good to make sure. It would add more useful information to her research. The pair, or group if Mirza was counted, continued to stroll along the path. Buildings were now closer together forming one of the main roads of the town. The light-haired woman didn't know if that meant they were safer or in more danger, especially considering the vampires. Staying silent, she listened intently as he talked about the conflitict. She bit her lip and glanced around. She wondered if anyone was hiding in the shadows. Pushing the uneasedown, she focused on the warlock's words. Surprising herself, Del began to relax some. Perhaps it was Imp's words or his confidence that helped, she wasn't entirely sure but was grateful for it.
When the man called her cute, Del's cheeks begin to redden. For a moment, the woman didn't know what to say as she fiddled with her thin, golden bracelet. As silence filled the space, she blurted the first thing that came to mind. "Um, uh thanks. Yo-you're cute too!" Awkwardly stumbling over her words, the angel found herself almost falling forward as Imp stopped abruptly. She quickly regained her balance and glanced towards the door. Although he knocked, it seemed pointless as he pulled out a key. As he fiddled with the door, the angel stuffed her notebook and pen back into the backpack. She didn't know what she was about to get herself into and wanted to make escape easier if it came to that. As Imp invited her in, she only nodded, still a bit speechless from his compliment. As she passed him, she gave a half-curtsy and flashed a wink. He had a flair for theatrics and decided to humor him. Following the the warlock, she noticed others inside. There was a woman about her age and two men, one of which was at the bar. She glanced at them curiously and only gave a nod of greeting. Imp lead her away from them and towards a third person. Her eyes brightened at the thought of having another person answer her questions.
Still trailing behind Imp, she felt dread nip at her chest. For whatever the reason, she had worries that things could go wrong. Perhaps that was her human gut feeling or some angelic thing, though she wasn't sure which one. Keeping the other people in the back of her mind, then short woman focused on the third man. He appeared normal at first, but green scales told her he was something new. Del shrank into herself slightly when the man- Imp called him Lianlian- dropped his fan. She lightly chewed on her lip, quickly realizing that dragons were probably indeed bad news. For one reason or another the prospect only made her all the more eager to study one. As silence filled the air, the quarter-angel awkwardly spoke. "Uh hi, I'm Del." She held out her hand and offered a friendly smiled.

{ Hiya! As acting director mod for this RP, I'd be happy to hear out your ideas in LadyDovahkiin's place, Amber, Falcon~ }
{ Also my boys are just ridiculous, I don't think there's anything wrong with a serious character to balance things out- he could get along with Mirza- but that's up to you! }

(Yeah makes sense. I've had longer replies for this rp than I've had for others. It's something I'm not use to, but enjoying. Sounds like an interesting challenge with Kograth, good luck there.
And eldrich-monster goddess sounds so cool! There's a lot that can be done with that idea and it would be interesting to see. Though whatever you decide it will be interesting~)

(well-- here, I think i'll try this new character for a while. here's a quick desc for what i have in mind.
Ingrid | known otherwise as Murkfang | quite old but in human form appears around 20 years old | eldritch creature/ minor beast goddess
In her human form, she is about 5'8" with long, messy brown hair and pale brown skin. The main giveaways to her otherworldly nature in this form are her arms, longer for her body than one would expect, and her eyes with horizontal pupils. In her true form, she grows to around 8 feet tall, keeping a vaguely humanoid appearance. However she also possesses gray skin, numerous extra black eyes, large frilled ears, tentacles where an angel's wings might be, a long whiplike tail, clawed digits, sharp teeth, and other monstrous characteristics. Her main supernatural abilities include partial and complete transformation between both forms at will, though transforming can exhaust a lot of her energy, and she often needs to eat a lot after shifting. She can also breathe underwater in any form.

(I thought I post this but apparently not! Sorry about that. Also, Falconfire, your new character is really cool. She seems like a fun/interesting addition~
Okay sounds good, Dunamis. First I'd like to clarify some things with her established abilities to give a better idea of powers. With her enhanced strength, it's more like things would be around 20lb lighter. At most she can lift, with difficulty, around 200lb, which would feel like 180lb. For her nightvision she only sees in black/white/gray monochrome about sixty feet ahead of her. It's also blurry. She can heal minor cuts, bruises, and wounds but also help start the healing process for more major injuries. It takes a few minutes for anything to happen, though. Lastly, she has some minor light manipulation. I'm thinking of acting as a flashlight, maybe throwing up a small distraction kinda thing. The light isn't solid and works like anything else. With that all said, she tends to lose energy quickly and has to eat often to keep up with everything. She also has to get a ton of sleep, otherwise she'll be tired throughout the day. Also she still has a lot of human in her as well and can easily get killed/majory injured if she isn't careful.
So finally onto the ideas I wanted to ask about. Firstly her halo, which she keeps on her wrist, can summon a shield. It's nothing special, just a shield that's made of light and glows slightly. If it gets too far away from her(say more than 5 feet)it disappears. It takes energy to use and keep it going, though she can't keep it longer than maybe half an hour. She also has to wait a while(probably thirty minutes to an hour)to use it again. Idea two, or in combination with the first one, is some angelic form. She can't control when she uses it(probably at first?), but it pops up when she's in danger. She sprouts wings of light, her eyes glow, and she has her shield. Her strength, healing, and control over light is also at it's most powerful. However she can only keep the form for five minutes if she's lucky and around ten if she's concentrating. Typically though, it only lasts for about a minute or two. Afterwards, she needs to eat and has almost no energy with some headaches. It would also be at least few days before she could use it/it happens again.
My only concern with this idea is she's only a quarter angel. Unless I give her a powerful ancestry, I don't want to make her too overpowered. What are your thoughts?)

{ Hmhm, first of all- that all sounds really cool! I really like the idea of keeping her halo on her wrist, and it transforming into a shield at times~ Also, all of the above powers/abilities sound great and in line with what she is, with reasonable drawbacks and the like. As for my thoughts- I think having an angel form would make more sense if there was more angel in her blood? As it stands, she could maybe have a half-angel form if you want to go that route, or she could be descended from a particularly powerful angel, thus making it more likely that it'd strengthen her connection? In any case, I don't think it's too overpowered~ }

{ Aish I should probably work out my boys' powers/abilities as well...In any case, Imp is in a similar position where he can go half-ifrit for a while but can only use a fraction of the power, has a time limit because of how taxing it is, etc- When he finds out Del is the same he'd be like 'omg twinsies!' }

There was an old dock just outside of town, on the shore of a lake that was almost sickeningly still, the surface painted green with scum. A clawed hand broke through the surface and gripped the wood of the dock. It was followed by a number of long, dextrous tentacles, holding tight to the boards, all working together to lift the grey figure up out of the water. Almost like a wet dog, the creature shook off the pond scum and drops of water. Blinking eyes washed the murk away.
The fishing wasn’t very good in the lake at all. And Ingrid was not ignorant; there weren’t many fish to begin with, and the population could die off entirely if she hunted them all. She could just hibernate, wait for them to multiply, but some ineffable feeling drew her up onto the earth in search of food and drink somewhere else. On dry land, she knew that this form of hers sometimes was more trouble than it was worth. She would have to shift.
By the time she reached that neutral part of town, she was walking in a pair of sweatpants, sneakers with frayed laces, and an ill-fitting, too-big t-shirt. She saw it ahead of her: the Serideán. It was one of the few places she was truly familiar with. When she could see from the outside how busy it seemed to be, she couldn’t help but groan. Crowds were one of her least favorite things, but she’d committed to the transformation, and needed something to eat sooner rather than later.
As was customary for the establishment, she tended to knock. Ingrid raised up a bony knuckle, sighing in resignation as she rapped at the door, twice.
(hmm...i've decided i love her)

Imp smiled as he listened to her speak, taken by the passion in her tone and accompanying light in her eyes. Perhaps she could find a job doing what she loves in town? Lach might know~ "I'm a scientist at heart too~" Mirza wasn't there to scoff at the statement, so he's able to make it proudly. "I've never been able to go to school or whatever, but I make up for it with discovering things and experiments~ And Mirza's all ecumenical and whatnot, so he teaches me a lot about everything!" Imp would be happy to share what he knows~ He's also glad they have this in common, he looks forward to them 'discovering' things all over town~
He winked when Del stuck out her tongue, smile brightening when she shared his humor. He wanted to ask her what she thought a dragon was, exactly, but she had already changed the subject. "Hm? Oh yes~ Just a routine haunting. It was nice to go back to Louisiana, we spent a lot of time there when I was little~" He suddenly returns to his original statement, never missing a chance to talk himself up- "Of course even if it were more than routine, I could've handled it just as easily~" Imp bounces on the toes of his boots and boxes the air. "And- poof!" He relaxes his stance and wiggles his fingers. "Just like that!"
"Anyone can share their name, what matters is who you're sharing it with. Like me and Mirza, we could theoretically cast spells on you with your name and birthdate, not that we would!" Well, not that Mirza would. And that extends to Imp, as a result. "Lach's magic doesn't run that way, so he's fine- Rose is one of the 'fair folk' so he's the one you need to worry about- but he's not in the habit of screwin' people over so he's theoretically safe~ I don't think anyone at the tavern uses their real names even so- 'cept Lili~" His eyes brighten. "Oh! Speaking of, it's a good idea to give him your real name because he can put blessings on you and such with it! Not sure how that works, it deals with the more mystic realm, of magic I guess~ We'll figure it out!" Perhaps now he has a partner in his quest to pester Lian with questions~
Unfortunately, Imp only caught the tail-end of Del's blushing with his back turned to her, but he was treated to a sight that only proved his previous statement when he swung back around. His chuckle was more quiet this time. "Thanks~! Means a lot comin' from you~" He swept a more elaborate bow in response to her curtsy and nearly tripped over the threshold. But it was worth it!
As is this moment, wherein Lian's fan slips from loose fingers in his shock. His brow arches, wide viridian eye shifting between the two standing before him before settling on Del. Imp watches in what he hopes is unobtrusive amusement as Lian's formerly regal expression cycles through several micro-expressions. Surprise, interest, confusion, amusement- His gaze returns to Imp, who assumes the jig is up. It doesn't take a genius to see that Imp set this up in the first place- But he's satisfied with what he was able to accomplish tonight, and simply grins up at the man unrepentantly.
It being that neither Imp nor Lach are inclined to pick his fan up for him, and doing so himself would be plebeian, Lianfo flicks his fingers and slips another from his sleeve. This one gold with deep blue paper, painted over with cranes in flight. It opens to once again conceal the lower half of his face, though the fluttering denotes interest. He tilts his head when Del introduces herself and offers her hand, puzzling over it for a moment- until Imp helpfully mimes a handshake behind her. Lianfo hums and obligingly shakes back a sweeping sleeve, revealing a pale forearm tattooed with a variety of flowers in intricate patterns that trail from the first knuckles of his fingers. He extends it in a delicate motion, grasping Del's smaller hand gently and giving it a single shake before returning his hand to the folds of his sleeve. There is a smile in his words when he speaks. "We, Huangdi Lianfo, extend our warmest greetings to you, Del." He says her name carefully, in an effort not to mispronounce the single syllable. "Your interest may be entertained."
Imp snorts and exchanges an amused look with Lach. "Congratulations, Del~! Looks like you'll be having hatchlings running around after all~ Your much sought-after dragon has accepted your proposal!"

"It's a deal then~!" And there he has it, rather useful, those verbal oaths~ Lach was on the verge of ironing out the finer details when their attention was arrested by Lianfo, and then Sephtis. He tsked, but there was time for that later. Though he was ostensibly occupied with pouring another round of drinks, he paid close attention to Impossible's interactions with the blessedly distracted dragon. His antics allowed Sephtis to attend the bar more or less unaccosted- and though he likes to think he's matured out of his sense of whimsical mischief, Lach can't help appreciating the warlock's games. As long as he isn't the target, of course-
Tonight it seems that Lian and 'Del' are the ones Imp is practicing his trickery on, the sound of the golden fan hitting the hardwood further drawing Lach's attention. He smirks at the uncharacteristic shock on the dragon's face. "Oho, is that a blush~?" The scales on Lianfo's face brighten in shimmering verdant shades before he conceals them behind his fan. Lach's amused dual-toned gaze drops to his first guest, catching her lost expression. It wouldn't do to leave his new employee ignored, so he returns to the counter before her and treats her with a quirk of his lips. "Imp's friend is apparently looking to marry into the Sirideán." He muses aloud, his eyes glittering with mirth at the confusion on the aforementioned pair's faces. "Asking a dragon for more dragons is the same as proposing to them, it would seem~" Lianfo recovers well, and even seems to venture continuing the joke. Or, ah- he might be serious. Lach would have to talk to him about that- In any case, he's sufficiently distracted enough that he only darts a narrow-eyed glance in the vampire's direction as the trio approach the bar. Impossible makes a fuss about ensuring Del's stool is clean and 'the best seat in the house', while Lianfo stands back to watch with amusement. His brow arches in surprise once again when Impossible gestures for him to come closer, insisting that she has questions. The dragon has never deigned to actually sit at the bar, so he only stands nearby and looks between them curiously, his tail flicking in a way that suggests he isn't feeling as spirited, at least. There's a moment of what appears to be brief internal debate- judging by the furrow of the warlock's brow- before the room's temperature abruptly rises in degree. It lowers a touch more gradually, and Impossible's features shift to match.
The transformation begins slowly, his eyes becoming sharper, pale skin looking more golden- and then a brief flash of flame and an entirely different person sits in his place. They have the same svelte build, but while Impossible's face is clearly European and more fey in its expressiveness, this man's Arab features are cool and nearly inscrutable. His thick wavy hair is a deep umber with pale highlights to reflect where Imp had been going silver, his almond-shaped eyes a comparatively warm tawny that holds more aquiline focus than the warlock's whimsical blue. He sits with perfect posture as Imp's theatric clothing reshapes into a parchment-colored button up, dark slacks, and a caramel waistcoat. Mahogany glasses appear in the pocket, and he slips them on with a brief wince as his eyes adjust to the notion of seeing on a more mundane spectrum.
He first dips his head in Lianfo's direction, and receives a similar gesture in response. Next, he acknowledges the king in the room. Lach receives a wave of tattooed fingers. The werewolf a nod, and the quarter-angel a smile. Just a brief quirk of his lips before he speaks. The hat is unnecessary when he can project his voice in a way that Impossible cannot, so he sets it on the bar to prevent an echo. "I am the djinn commonly known as Mirza Ikram Kay, you may address me as Mirza." This he directs toward the newcomers. He may not make a habit of appearing thus, but all others present are familiar with him. "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Mirza's voice is obviously deeper than Imp's cheery tenor, its underlying smoky rasp much more pronounced than the dragon's. He too, however, has a thread of his Arabic accent shaping the words.
"Oi, there you are~ What's the occasion~?" Lach smiles in greeting, sliding a water toward the djinn. Mirza doesn't drink, but he doesn't have his preferred coffee ready with such short notice. Tawny eyes slide briefly toward the vampire and Lach clicks his tongue. Mirza doesn't have a particularly high opinion of the king either- the ongoing vampire feud has him loused with all of the damage control he's been doing. He likely intends to seize the opportunity being on neutral ground presents him to discuss the matter with the unbothered sovereign- Impossible evidently has different ideas, however. Lach can hear Mirza's low 'The warlock said you had questions?' as he excuses himself again to answer the door. The figure on the other side receives his customary grin.
"Ah, hello again~! Come up for a drink, now have you~?"
