No worries; I don't usually mind role-playing a bunch of people. But in this case, you're probably right: you being Warren will make future interactions with Ren easier. He's all yours! xD Mal just rolled her eyes, though she was smiling too. It was high praise, because the idea of breaking up with Ian — or heck, cheating on him — had never once crossed her mind as an option, despite her willingness to admit Warren was the kind of guy she would be willing to date.
She shook her head. "No, I think that's — Oh! Yes! One more thing: Warren knows sign language. He's not fluent or anything, and he's definitely better at being the receiver, not the sender, but he knows the basics. And he's willing to learn more."

Everything, Tori signed in return, but didn't see the need to elaborate.
Warren, on his part, simply chuckled. "I'll admit it's not a conventional way of meeting, but I wouldn't call it an embarrassing way," he said, seeming to side with Mal on the matter. "I already have something order, but if you could bring it with you, that'd be great."

As Mal went to get their orders, Warren turned back to Tori. "Well, have a seat. No sense in standing around now that you're here."
Tori nodded and sat down in one of the chairs at the table. It as a little awkward, but that was the normal when it came to meeting new people. Especially with her. Not much one for small talk, it was always a little rough starting conversations with someone she didn't know. The only thing that made this time better was the fact that she had Mal, the social butterfly to help moderate the conversations so it wouldn't get too boring.
Yeah, that'll be fine. We can just have a mini time-skip until they start talking about the scheme to match Tori and Cam up, or, if you don't want to rp that conversation either, we can just skip to when they're leaving and get the Ren and the good stuff. XD Either works for me.

Works for me! ^^ An hour later, they were saying their goodbyes. Mal felt pretty confident that both of her friends would agree to her scheme, though they'd left that conversation with assurance that they would "think about it." To Mal, that was basically a yes. She also thought she had chosen well for Tori's new friend/fake boyfriend. The two had chemistry, though Mal wasn't sure yet if it was a romantic chemistry or simply a sign that they would become good friends. Either way, she was happy with it.
When Warren stood to leave, Mal got up too and gave him another big hug. Then she said a final goodbye, and excused herself to use the little girl's room. She could have waited another minute, but she thought it would be a good idea to give the possible-future-lovebirds a chance to say goodbye alone. Plus, her makeup needed a touch-up.

Tori had to admit: Warren wasn't that bad of a guy. Not that she was expecting him to be a bad guy. She just didn't know how well the two of them would actually get along. Those fears, however, dispelled themselves the more she talked with him. The fact that she could sign and have him understand her helped a lot in that area. Mal had been right about one thing, and that was she could see herself becoming friends with Warren if nothing else.
When Warren started to excuse himself, claiming homework had to be turned in before a certain professor counted it as late, Tori stood as. She waited as Mal hugged the man before leaving for the bathroom, no doubt setting up a purposeful moment of privacy for them. She resisted the urge to role her eyes as she walked with Warren outside the cafe. There she would wait for Mallory while seeing Warren off as if he were leaving their house instead of a public setting. It was good to meet you, Warren, she signed. I apologize for Mal dragging you into this, and you don't have to go along with it.
Warren shrugged and gave a good natured smile. "I wouldn't say she's dragging me into it," he responded. "Who knows? This could be fun. Stir up a bit of a scandal, start of love triangle. Good ol' drama that won't bring a lot of harm. I hate that I have to run so soon, but maybe we'll get a chance to talk more before bowling night?"
Tori had to smile in return and nodded. They shared their goodbyes and she watched as he disappeared down the street. Okay, so all in all the day hadn't been too terrible. Unless there was more that Mallory was planning, perhaps the day could end normally. Even as she had that thought, however, an uneasy feeling settled around her. It was similar to the feeling she got whenever she spotted those creatures or had a nightmare. She glanced about, hoping that the unease was just from the thought of any more surprised on Mal's part.

Aye. xD In the other dog's defense, Bear (my dog) kind of threw the ball at her the one time. xD The demon hated sunlight. Had it been up to him, he would have waited until nightfall to go after the angelic one. But it was not up to him, so he stood in the shade, cursing his superiors and the sun itself, and waited impatiently for the angelic one to exit the human coffee shop.
It was a long, torturous wait. He had to resist the urge many times to storm inside and drag the girl out by her hair. He was gratified by the fact that his fellow demons were waiting as impatiently as he was. He saw them from time to time, peaking out from their own hiding spots to see if the girl had appeared yet.
The worst part of the waiting came when the angelic one finally appeared, for when she did, she was not alone. A human male was with her. The demon wanted to kill him on principle, but he had orders not to touch mortals unless they got in his way. He consoled himself with the thought of the girl and how she would taste when he finally got his claws in her. Her screams would be like music to hid ears, and he would enjoy every second of her torment and pain.
His thoughts distracted him, and he almost missed it when the human male left. The demon waited for the girl to wander off as well, but she didn't. She lingered, as if waiting for something...
Curse it. He'd forgotten that she hadn't come alone; she was waiting for her companion. A companion that would ruin his plans... unless he acted now.
He looked around. There were no humans in sight. Those inside the coffee shop were too busy to notice what was happening outside. To make things more tempting, the demon remembered the ticking clock. His superiors were plentiful and powerful, but they would not be able to distract the Guardian forever. If he wanted the girl, it could be now or never.
The demon chose now. With a subtle signal to his fellow demons, the human man who'd been possessed started moving toward the girl.

Tori hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary, but she still couldn't shake the bad feeling she had. Where was Mal? How long did it take to go to the bathroom? Was she expecting for Warren and her to be having a long, drawn out goodbye? If that was the case, her friend really needed to find a better hobby. She tried to think back and remember if Mal had mentioned anything else before leaving. That's when she remembered her friend had taken her purse. Her make-up was nearly always kept in her bag. Tori let out a quiet groan. The girl was in there fixing her make-up, wasn't she? Great. She'd be out here all afternoon if she didn't get her attention. Pulling her phone out of her pocket, she leaned up against the wall of the cafe and started to type up a text. It was simply going to read that Warren was gone and she was waiting outside, along with the possible threat that if she wasn't out here in ten minutes, she was leaving on her own.
Half-way through typing, she glanced up and noticed a man walking towards the cafe. She stared at him for a moment before looking back to her phone. There was a part of her that wanted to just go back in and get Mal in person, but she tried to shake it off. It was the middle of the day. The nightmares never occurred at this hour. She was just being paranoid for no reason. So she focused on the task at hand, finishing the text and returning her phone to her pocket.

And this was a time when she wished she had listened to her paranoia. She noticed as the man walked closer still, but since she was standing by the door, she didn't think much of it. It was only when she stepped aside to give him a bit more room to enter the cafe did she realize the mistake she made. A hand seized her arm and before she knew it, she was being dragged away from her spot. Tori started to struggle. She wrenched her arm as hard as she dared, hoping to find a weak spot in his grip. When that didn't work, she clawed at his hand. Her next instinct was to just bite the hand that held her, but something else grabbed her attention before she could do so. All around her, more people appeared on the once empty street. Black eyes stared at her, and her blood left her face. These weren't men, but nightmares. Demons as the man named Renegade had called them. Why were they out now? They've never bothered her this early! It was around sunset when they became the most active, so why now? And why so many of them?
It was the middle of the day, but the alley around her felt too dark, too cold. Looking around for any sign of escape, she could find none. The entrances of the alley were being blocked, and she still had yet to free herself from the steel like grip encasing her arm. That is, until she was thrown to the ground. The concrete scraped her hands as she broke her fall, but that was the least of her worries. Without looking at the man who had grabbed her, she scrambled to her feet. She wouldn't just sit there and let whatever may come happen to her. She would run if she could. She would fight, even if it might do no could. There was still a chance this was only a horrible dream, and she would wake up soon.

The demon chuckled, the sound low and cruel and not entirely human. His voice, when he spoke, wasn't totally human either, but possessed a hissing undercurrent. "Poor, foolish girl. Poor, doomed Nephilim. The Heavenly ones believe your ignorance keeps yo safe. But we know they are wrong, don't we?" He moved slowly toward her, began circling her like a shark moving closer to its prey. At his sides, his hands grew shadowy claws from the tips of his fingers. Despite looking insubstantial, the claws made like clicking sounds as he tapped them against each other.

Meanwhile, back at the cafe, Mal came outside and saw no trace of Tori. "Wow. It's been ten minutes already? Damn, how time flies when one is doing her makeup. Oh well. With a shrug, she started for home, only half expecting to catch up with Tori. Mal wasn't keen on speed-walking.

Tori tried not to look at the creature directly. Every time she had in the past, it seemed fear froze. Panic was making her blank on what to do, but if she could just keep control of her movement, maybe she would have a chance. Yet it was hard to do that when the hissing voice and clicking of claws sent fear running down her spine. As he circled, she backed away, hoping to keep a distance away from him. From the corner of her eyes, she spotted someone leaving the cafe. Mal! Without thinking, she bolted towards the end of the alley. If her reaction was quick enough, maybe she could pass by the two creatures guarding the alley, or at the very least catch her friend's attention. They wouldn't continue the assault with someone else around, would they? The illusion would be broken, right?
