Poppyspots | Κα΄α΄ΚΚα΄Κα΄α΄ Β» , ashwind | camp
After tending to Ashenpool's needs, Poppyspots was fixing to head out of the camp's confines to perhaps gather some herbs when all of a sudden, Spiderpaw burst into her den in a wild frenzy. The medicine cat blinked in surprised, listening while the young molly caught her breath, until the news hit her like a ton of stones and her heart dropped to her paws. Spiderpaw didn't need to explain anymore. She rushed out of her den, a blur of tortoiseshell and white, to where she spotted Cinderflower, Scorchstar, and other clan members surrounding a heap of brown fur. Her face drawn in a grim frown, the normally cheerful she-cat approached the obviously dead Acornpaw. She stared at his lifeless form for a moment, silent, before raising her head to look at Cinderflower. The large molly looked utterly lost, making Poppyspots' heart ache even more.
She parted her jaws to comfort the warrior when she was nearly bowled over by a grieving Pintail. She regained her balance at turned her green gaze upon him as he buried his face into his son's pelt. Oh, StarClan, she thought miserably, feeling terrible for the poor father. He had only just lost his mate, Brightsky, and now Acornpaw, too. She shook her head; how horrible must it feel to lose your family. But when Pintail turned on Cinderflower, the medicine cat stepped in, a hard look replacing the sorrow in her eyes. "Do not come after Cinderflower, she had no control over this. I understand you are angry and grieving, but you are not the only one hurting." She looked back at the grey-and-black warrior, voice more gentle as she asked, "What happened, Cinderflower?"
Slatepaw | ashwind, khaleesi, @ripper | camp
The apprentice managed a purr of thanks at Pintail's words, but was caught off before he could say anything else. In a flash, Kitepaw was suddenly there, stammering out words that were at first hard for him to understand. What was wrong with Acornpaw? But as soon as Pintail's expression changed from one of curiosity to horror, Slatepaw knew something was terribly wrong.
He raced after his mentor, heart thudding in his chest from both the movement and anxiety. He didn't want anything to be wrong with one of his best friends (if thats ok). He and Acornpaw always liked to joke around together; Slatepaw would hate if anything bad happened to him.
And boy would he hate this.
The young tom wasn't prepared for what he saw upon his arrival back to camp. There he saw Cinderflower, Scorchstar, and Poppyspots, all huddled around what looked to be a body. Slatepaw's throat went dry; Kitepaw didn't warn them about anyone but Acornpaw, so he could sum things up pretty quickly in his head. His eyes fixed on the lifeless Acornpaw, Slatepaw backed away from the scene, his fur bristling as he did so. He'd never seen a dead cat before and didn't need to.
Magnoliabloom | ripper's wildfur | camp
The cream-colored molly was busy grooming her long fur when the commotion began. Still rather sleepy from only just arising from her slumber, Magnoliabloom was a tad confused, but soon realized what was going on when she saw Poppyspots bolt from her den. The large molly was on her paws in an instant, hurrying over to where her brother, Wildfur, stood with Rushwhisker. She parked herself right next to him, staring mournfully at the deceased apprentice before murmuring a farewell. Acornpaw had been a lively thing with a great future ahead of him; he didn't deserve to be cut off so soon. She pressed her face into her brother's shoulder in search of comfort, knowing that he, too, felt the loss as heavy as any of them.
Gingerglow | ashwind's bluepoppy & ripper's heatherpaw | patrol
Gingerglow waited until Heatherpaw had caught up with him to finally head down the slope out of camp. He was careful not to slip on any loose rocks and kept an eye on Heatherpaw, who wasn't always the most graceful feline around. With a dip of his head, he met up with Bluepoppy, following her out of the gorge and stopped when she stopped. He gave her a small smile of amusement, agreeing that they should part ways for now, then responding with a, "Thank you for your wishes, Bluepoppy," before turning back to his apprentice. The other warrior was correct; he preferred being alone to train with Heatherpaw; he felt that it made things get done faster. "Why don't we practice your fishing skills?" He asked the grey molly. "If you're up for it."

Cinderflower // with Acornflight, etc. . . { ashwind & @ripper & πΉπͺπ»π½π΅π π¬π΅πΈπΎππ & @Cool Guy }
Cinderflower knew she should react once Pintail was shouting at her. She should be scared, she should be guilty she should - she should feel. But she couldn't feel. She couldn't fathom anything other than the cold. creeping numbness that had started at her toes and crawled its way up her body like the shadows would at sunset. Someone was asking what had happened - someone was still talking.
"I - I'm not sure totally. It was so quick. We were out training. He wanted to practice the leap and twist, and to catch a rabbit for Nightwillow." She pawed at the rabbit then, her ears dropping. "I'd heard the hawk on the way but - it sounded so far off. I thought we would be fine. I was so wrong." Her voice broke here, as if she couldn't bear to say what happened next. But she needed to. Pintail needed it.
"Acornpaw must have seen it. I think it had been coming for me, because he threw himself at it while it was still diving. He was able to stop it from getting to me, and I didn't think. I just reacted. I killed the hawk and I turned around - and he was just laying there. It must have gotten his stomach when he jumped at it. He - he said he was in pain. He asked me to stay there with him for a while, and I did. He was so brave. He saved my life. He was a warrior Scorchstar, and I couldn't - I couldn't let him die without his name. I'm sorry that I didn't bring him here first but . . . I gave him his name before he passed. He was so amazing, flying through the air at that hawk. I felt it was only right to name him Acornflight, after his first act as a warrior. Please, forgive me, Pintail, Scorchstar. I'm so sorry I let this happen," she meowed, fighting back the tears. Her voice was choked, and broken, but she finished her story quietly. Looking at the cats around her, Cinderflower bowed her head. "I'm so sorry, everyone."
She remained quiet after that, curling in on herself where she sat. For such a large cat, she'd never looked smaller than she did in that moment.

Needlefang | tags: ashwind, πΉπͺπ»π½π΅π π¬π΅πΈπΎππNeedlefang decided he needed to clear his mind. The tom slipped from beside the other warriors, deciding he'd talk to Pintail later; it was the least he could do. He felt guilt weighing heavy on his shoulders as he slipped from beside Rushwhisker and headed for the river; his throat felt tight with grief, and he figured a drink of water might soothe him and help clear his head. His mind weighed down with thoughts, the tom walked past the camp exit and stopped beside the river to lap up the fresh-tasting water. He seemed to drink forever; the tom must've been thirstier than he'd realized. The water sent a cooling sensation through Needlefang and he felt his mind growing sharp again, though grief and sadness still gnawed at him like a parasite. Turning his head briefly, Needlefang saw Gingerglow and his apprentice, Heatherpaw, training downstream. The tabby apprentice seemed to be struggling to catch a fish. He eyed the two for a short moment before turning and heading back for the camp, thoughts overflowing in his mind. Just like the river, the tom thought as he returned the way he came, taking slow steps; he was in no rush to make it back to where Acornpaw's body lay, grief hanging overhead like a cloud of smoke. Wildfur | tags: πΉπͺπ»π½π΅π π¬π΅πΈπΎππ, Cool Guy, Κα΄α΄ΚΚα΄Κα΄α΄ Β»Wildfur gave Magnoliabloom a half-forced smile as she approached beside him and leaned into his shoulder. Wildfur briefly touched the tip of his tail to his sister's spine, doing his best to comfort the she-cat. At the nearby Cinderflower's words, the tom hung his head in sorrow. He didn't know what to say, so he remained silent, his face stoic. Wildfur gave a resigned sigh. Though grief still weighed upon him as heavily as ever, he decided it was time to clear his headβfor a little while, at leastβand focus on different matters, as difficult as it was. "What will become of the hawk?" asked the big warrior, gesturing with a nod of his head towards the bloodied remains of the bird, strewn pitifully on the ground close to where Acornpaw was. He couldn't help but curl his lip in disgust a little at the sight of the creature that had taken Acornpaw's life. Heatherpaw | tags: πΉπͺπ»π½π΅π π¬π΅πΈπΎππ"Am I ever!" meowed the goofy she-cat. "Those fish are going to be crying to their mothers when I'm done with 'em." Heatherpaw flexed her claws, digging them into the dirt as though it was unsuspecting prey. With everything that's been happening lately, it's certainly nice to have some fun. Heatherpaw had always loved hunting in general, and fishing was no exception. With confidence, the tabby she-cat strode up to the edge of the river, the clay soft beneath her paws. Taking a pause to check for prey-scents, she looked down into the river, watching for the shiny bodies of fish that would often dart quickly past. Though she liked hunting and all, Heatherpaw had to admit she wasn't the quickest with her paws, and fast prey like fish often escaped her claws before she could think twice. Suddenly nervous, Heatherpaw took a deep breath. She longed to impress her mentor just once. Lately, she'd been lagging behind the other apprentices in her training, particularly Acornpaw and her brother, Slatepaw. The thought of surpassing her brother motivated her to work harder, but it was only friendly competition, nothing serious. Yet, Heatherpaw silently added. Heatherpaw froze, snapping out of her thoughts, as a sleek fish darted past. Claws unsheathed, Heatherpaw swiped at the water where the fish had just been; she'd missed it by a second. The apprentice felt a little annoyed, but she wouldn't let just one missed catch get her down. The least she could do was have a good attitude about things, even if she ended up catching nothingβwhich she hoped wouldn't be the case. The gray tabby gave a sigh and prepared to try again.

Pintail stared at the she-cat, every fiber in his body told him to leap at the she-cat. His tense muscles rippled beneath his pelt as he strained to not lunge. He finally bowed his head, his tail dropping low. Every muscle he had was exhausted, both from the run here as well the βshowβ he had just put on. βItβs okay... from what you told me, his death was honorable. It was a warriors death... and I will honor your decision to give him his warrior name, whether anyone else agrees with it or not.β He whispered, his tail flicking towards Scorchstar. He looked down at the small apprentice, no, warrior. His eyes filled with grief and regret. βAcornflight... you were the best son any cat could ask for. You were loyal, hardworking, brave, but most of all, you were compassionate. There isnβt a cat in the world who was like you, and no cat could ever replace what you did for the clan... and for me.β Pintail touched noses with his kit one last time before turning his attention to Scorchstar. βI am going to bury him by the river, beside his mother. I will sit vigil with him for the rest of the day and through the night... any cat who wishes to join, may come.β Scorchstar nodded his head in agreement. βAcornflight is a fitting name, for such a brave warrior. The entire clan owes him a debt that cannot be repaid... as for the hawk... Wildfur take it out of camp. Leave it for the crows.β The dark ginger tom dipped his head with respect, his tone changing to a snarl at the mention of the hawk. βToday will be a day of grieving.β He called to the whole clan. βTomorrow will be a day of celebration. I will chose the new deputy of the clan tomorrow, at dusk. But for now, we must pay homage to the bravest cat in the clan. We will all sit vigil for Acornflight today, those who wish to sleep, will sleep outside underneath our ancestors in the night sky.β The dark ginger tom flicked his tail, ordering the clan to follow Pintail, who was carrying Acornflight on his back and headed towards the burial grounds. Ashenpool followed closely beside her mate, pressing against him comfortingly. βYou should stay here.β He murmured to the pregnant she-cat. βIt would be a dishonor to Acornflight, Pintail, and Brightsky if I didnβt go.β She hissed.
(we can time skip if yβall would like, one more post per person ought to be good, the we can skip to the next day. Heatherpaw and Gingerglow are more than welcome to continue their training though)

Needlefang | tags: ashwind, etc. Needlefang returned to the camp just in time to hear the two cats' voices ringing loud and clear across the gorge. The tabby brown tom hurried towards the crowd of other cats, hoping he hadn't missed anything too important while he was gone. The brown tabby watched sadly as Pintail carried his only kit, now dead, out of the camp. Needlefang quickly caught up with the rest of the Clan, weaving through the group so he was just behind Pintail. He had a renewed respect for the warrior now; he'd speak to him later, he decided, or at least sit vigil with the tom while he grieved for brave Acornflight. Wildfur | tags: ?
The big tom gave a solemn nod. As the rest of the cats filtered past, he picked up the dead bird by the tip of its battered wing, barely touching it as though it were crow-food. As the others walked past, Wildfur went another way out of the camp. Running as fast as he could with the big bird hanging from his jaws, the long-furred warrior ran upstream of the river until he had left the gorge. The tom slung the hawk from his grip, spitting out its brown feathers as he tossed its body into the grass. He wanted to spit on its body, but he knew the cats who looked down on him from StarClan might not approve. As much as he despised the hawk for what it had done to poor Acornpaw, he knew it had been disrespected enough. The bird had only been fighting to survive, just as the Clan cats didβ¦although the bird had certainly picked the wrong group of cats to mess with, he thought with satisfaction. Wildfur looked down at the creature's wounds and knew then and there that the animal had gotten what it deserved. Turning tail, Wildfur raced back to the gorge and found the others standing by the river, where Pintail was set to bury Acornpaw. Right beside the body of his mother, thought Wildfur sadly. Acornpaw, you shall be remembered. Not as Acornpaw, but as Acornflight. Heatherpaw | tags: txt

Leafwhisker looked at the young warrior. She felt like she had a lump in her throat, she never really knew the cat, but what she did know is that he was a good apprentice. She looked at all the sad cats. Padding up to one of them, her tail on the cats shoulder in comfort. βHe was a great apprentice.β She murmured softly and pressed her body close to the ground. βMay acornflight have the hunting he deserved in starclan.β

- Multiple Perspectives - New Leaf ; Sun-high
Pintail dropped his son gently on the sandy earth beside him, light as a feather. His mind was numb, his body was numb, but it didnβt stop him from digging the hole where he would bury his son. βThis is where you belong... beside your mother... forever...β The thin tailed tom whispered, gently setting the small warrior into the hole, and covering it up.
Scorchstar stepped beside his senior warrior, his heart aching for the tom. βThe entire Clan has lost a valuable warrior, and friend today. Pintail, we all have a debt to pay not only to your son, but to you as well, that could never be repaid. The sacrifice you have endured is more than any cat could bear, yet you donβt break, you keep fighting for the sake of your Clan. May we all have the courage of Acornflight, and the resilience of Pintail!β The dark ginger tom declared, his eyes soaked with determination.
βScorchstar... we never got to celebrate his naming ceremony.β Ashenpool said, gently placing her speckled tail on the big tomβs shoulder. He nodded in approval towards his mate. βAcornflight! Acornflight! Acornflight!β He yowled, his mate following his lead, as soon the whole clan joined in. Even Pintail, who was shouting as loud as his strained lungs would let him. The brown tom turned to Cinderflower, his eyes hollow, devoid of any real emotion. βWould you like to say a few words?β He whispered hoarsely.

Couple of questions, with the rogues back, did you want Sage to receive her warrior name as a testament to her loyalty to the clan, due to the mistrusting nature her clanmates have due to her being a former rogue? and who did you want to mentor mottlepaw, or did you want me to decide?
