(Hey, there. Just wanted to say I love that this is all original. You could seriously write a book on all of this and I'd read it. In the meantime... I'm really interested in joining. There's one OC I already have that might fit in well. Actually a few of them. Bull, Vincent the Viper, Snow... Former RP/story characters. Bull is probably one I'd love to include in this for (maybe spoiler) reasons. The only issue is he may be OP since he was one of the main characters. Mind you, his powers are different depending on what timeline he is in, so I can just choose one of the weaker versions of him. I'm looking at your linked suggestions for magic and the major arcana to help fit him into the RP properly. I am a bit excited about all this tbh. It's a lovely framework you've laid down.
I generally write original speculative stuff, but I've gotten back into written RPs for practice. So that is I'm lucky to be literate and I should be fairly active. Only issues might be my health (multiple disability life) and I've got an upcoming trip. After the trip, assuming I don't feel like I'm dying, I should be regularly active since this seems fascinating and I always enjoy throwing my set aside project characters at RPs. If you want, I could wait to start until after the trip since it'll be several days with questionable internet access? Assuming a character gets approval.)

you can do however many ocs you want! also, he can be powerful, there just needs to be a bane to his power, a restriction or a penalty i really do appreciate you saying these things, i worked hard and kept the idea around for a while before actually making it
no worries on the timing thing, whenever is good for you is good for me! i feel you on the dying bit tho lmao ]]

(Well, you're welcome. Thanks for all the info. That's helpful. I decided to go with more minor characters to work on fleshing them out, but I'll keep in mind the possibility of other OCs as long as I give them equally negative penalties that pull them down in another way. Q: Does magic type tend to travel by family, or is it seemingly random? Anyway, here's first attempted character creation. I'm not sure who he'd be affiliated with--I mean, it would just be whoever uses the most enchanted objects. That is, whoever gives him the most reliable income and then he just ignores whatever they do with the items. Edit 1. Decided to put him affiliated with Ver Tahesh since they've fewer members than Fourniers right now and the Spades are too "inelegant" for him. Not sure if this perfectly suits him, but sometimes persisting ideas are more reliable than just steady income; being liked by a cult might be better protection than being liked by a mob. We'll see lol. First and Last Name; Harlow βHarryβ Zima
26 ; he/him or they/them ; enchanted item seller ; the chariot
- Harlow Zima is a chilly, gruff man. Harry is a fiery, talkative person. The fact they coexist isnβt atypical in a city like this one. One must be hidden. Both must listen and watch, carefully. Both unsure about any of this.
- Harry would be tall enough, brushing 6β1β, if he werenβt halved in height by the thoroughly-enchanted wheelchair. All bells and whistles there, not as much in his actual body: His connective tissue is less than ideal. Pupils usually of two differing sizes, mostly hidden by brown irises. Rusty-tinged black hair kept short and away from any moving parts. Skin always a dull walnut, rarely darkened by tan. Boxy glasses, comfortable sweaters. He is not imposing. - Enchantment: Harry can enchant most objects he has made to do simple tasks. This he learned by trial and error. Mostly by error. Now his objects are fully capable of sending someone to the grave. Not out of it, but if he ever finds someone can do that, heβll--well, wheel away quickly. He prefers less risky items, but unfortunately as the city is, few ever ask him for quaint things. The problem with his power is not directly seen. Most assume it causes his disability or they're related. Instead he becomes more aware of questionable thoughts, maybe demon whispers, when working on more complicated projects. @ collided

they look good! they dont have to be affiliated with anyone, but if they make good product the factions would compete for it. the fourniers have the most money, ver tahesh is the most cultish, and the spades are a rag tag family

(Thanks for the input. I edited his profile. Glad he works well. Good to know too about the bane. Means I can go for bigger powers with less downsides than expected going by other character profiles. -shifts through more Battle Magic mode OCs- Should be fun thinking on one or two characters I could also make if I can think about it better. Looking through their magic and magic on your lists, I'm mostly drawn to animal magic, regenerative healing, and shape-shifting for other character powers. I'm trying to figure if there's a way to combine that into a berserker because they're always fun as an archetype. One brainy character and one brawny character. Then maybe a third in the middle maybe in more ways than one, not chosen a faction or undermining them.
If there's any particular type roles you'd like filled for the less filled Ver Tahesh and Spades, let me know. I've got probably too many magical OCs. -gestures at fantasy and horror projects- But that might be useful if you, say, need a certain kind of character to help push the mystery forward. A known hired gun who might have done it? A person with exceptionally dark magic who always is suspected if bad things happen? A secret mistress or bastard child? Always fun to have red herrings and twists, plenty of options. Especially if you intend to choose which character is responsible or play them yourself in which case that character would try to lay blame on anyone else, even frame them.)

well, it depends on the bane i dont see enchantment as the most powerful thing, so, less of a bane? dark magicks are usually more powerful and therefore have a bigger bane--ezra's is considered dark since it can be used very badly, and which is why he loses memory if he uses it like that and of course! you can also do any of those things purely if you want to!
and no problem! i... just got up, so, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and i will start working on rp ]]

--kai nicollier ; informant
If Kai had intentions of going out in public that day, which he rarely did anyway, they would have to be put aside. Kai didn't like showing his face unless he was at work though, so it worked out. And the boys may know him, but the majority of the members of the Fourniers would not be able to recognize his face. And they were gentlemen to the civilians other than the mob taxes, but that didn't mean Kai wanted to interact with them. He did want to go to his favorite cafΓ© in the Bowery, however, since they had the only pastries he was willing to eat and good coffee. Not only that, but they wouldn't be shellshocked like any coffee shops in Radial City today.
A good thing about his power was that he was able to avoid metro costs. Maybe a good government would have been able to establish something to prevent everyone that can appear non-human or invisible from stealing or skipping tolls, but the public transportation was not at the top of the Vadejiran local government's mind. Probably because a lot of them were Fourniers, but. Not important. He found a seat after reappearing in an alcove probably once meant for a vending machine.
It was much the same thing getting out of the metro and down the street since, again, Kai didn't like to be seen. One could definitely call him a shut in, if they knew, but Ezra was the only one with any idea and he was too kind. At the cafΓ©, he got a coffee with both cream and sugar and a chocolate croissant--also something only Ezra would know was that Kai was a bit of a sweet tooth when he did actually eat.

Samar had gone home once she had left the bar behind last night. Sheβd wanted out of Radial City once the night had began to creep towards early morning. She wasnβt apart of the ground troops, her job had been completed earlier in the night, and that was all they had wanted from her. They knew that being up close and personal wasnβt her forte, and for the first time, Samar was relieved.
At least, that was what she had thought. Sheβd been about to go to bed when sheβd gotten the call to go provide support from the sky, ensure anyone fighting back didnβt have the opportunity to organise and get one up on their own people. When the call had ended, Samar considered getting into bed, but instead Rapier went to work. The headache that hit her even when she was out on the job was astronomical but she remained focused, taking out potential threat one by one, following the wave from rooftop to rooftop until it was done.
Sheβd nursed her headache and eventually gone to bed. Regardless, she had still woken up with one. Her employers had well and truly made their move, it seemed. Samar was unsure what to expect next. She doubted Ver Tahesh would be much of a problem without a leader anymore, too disorganised within their own ranks to really put up a fight. The Spades would be a different issue though, and one Samar hadnβt come to a conclusion on.
She was currently in some longue somewhere that happened to be open at this hour. Or maybe sheβd broken in seeking darkness? Samar couldnβt quite remember through the pain that plagued her temples. What she could remember was taking note of the increased numbers of the Fourniers who wouldnβt have dared to appear looking as they did In Radial City the day before. Change was in the air of the morning though she was unsure still if it had tipped in her favour.

--ezra bishara ; bodyguard
Unlike Kai, Ezra had a bit more compassion and wandered the streets after the sun rose. It's not like he slept, anyway, and he walked with a mug of coffee in his hand--he hated travel cups. The Fourniers wouldn't hurt him so long as he didn't try anything, so he just kept to himself while assessing the damage. There were bloodstains, sure, but no more bodies at this point in time. At least, not in public. He didn't really care about faction deaths, because, in his mind, it was like the military. As soon as you joined one, you were no longer innocent. You were no longer a civilian. And the civilians were the ones Ezra was looking for. He knew it wouldn't be as bad as when Ver Tahesh started fighting the Spades for Radial City, but there would still be collateral. There was a club on his route that was not his own, though he knew the DJ. They played a lot of techno and chiptune and the foundation was lower than the street, stairs leading down to the doors. One of the doors, made of glass, was shattered with cracks reaching out to all corners and sides with the center of the damage being a hole near the locking mechanism. That meant someone had looted or was inside, and for the latter, it was not clear whether the person was good or not, was alive or not, etc. Ezra sipped his coffee--it was not something anyone here would enjoy, being unsweetened Turkish coffee. It was unbelievably strong, and thick, not like normal brew. But he was always tired since he barely slept, and he needed it, especially now. He pushed the door which opened without resistance and turned the flashlight of his phone on as he looked around. This club was not like Jupiter--not really a dance club or a place for raves, instead having lounge-like chairs and couches, low lights (when it was open), and rooms in the back that were definitely used for gambling and drugs. But it wasn't like you could really... dance, to hard techno. This was for relaxing and drinking in a loud environment. There was a body on one of the modern designed couches. He sighed, but upon close inspection he found the Rapier from last night, eyepatch and all. So, not an innocent. Immediately, his brain was filled with her memories, her mistakes and regrets and things she would not like Ezra to know. He sipped from his mug again, grimly. He had told Kai who she killed after work last night, and for no charge--Ezra didn't necessarily agree with that Kai did, but if you could make the factions work for you, then do it. And considering Samar, here, as her memory supplied, was not an innocent, Ezra had less qualms about sharing that information. She wasn't dead, at least, but not in the best shape. No visible injuries. He saw that she had worked the night before as well. "Need anything?" Ezra asked softly, knowing she was in pain. He could see that too, almost felt it, and asking if she was okay would be stupid. But he did give himself away a bit by speaking softly.

The silence of the lounge had brought some comfort. The semi-darkness she sat in hadnβt burned at her retinas like the morning light outside had, and she had known some semblance of peace. She had her head down, resting it in her arms, neck feeling as if it could no longer support itself. Her mind had gotten lost over the minutes and hours that sheβd spent there, Samar didnβt know how long it had been, nor did she care. Her phone was off and she was determined to not work of the rest of day. It would be nice to have the week off, but she doubted the brothers would let her.
Samar was so enraptured in her thoughts of the future, of what this move would all mean, that she didnβt even notice someone else coming into the lounge. It was only when they spoke to her did she startle and realise she was no longer along. Samarβs head shot up and she ignored the new wave of pain and dizziness that over took her, sharpening her other senses.
Her eye landed on the man cutting an intimidating figure in front of her. Her gaze them moved past him, looking out at the rest of the lounge and finally taking it all in. So she had, broken in then, she understood when all the empty tables and chairs packed up for the day stared back at her. Samar turned her attention back to the man and her fingers twitched instinctively for the knife she kept on her. Fourniers proffered guns, but it didnβt mean she didnβt have her own opinions on weaponry. But since he hadnβt made a move to attack her, only pose a question, did she stall her instincts.
βI could do with a-β she begun, but then noticed the empty glass of what she hoped had been water, and the remaining dust of pain killer tablets just in front of where her arms with been. βWell, actually, seems like I already sorted myself out,β she mused. They hadnβt worked, it seemed as she involuntarily winced at the sound of her own voice.
Instead, Samar looked up at the man. βAre you security for this place? Are you here to kick me out?β she asked. She didn't recognise him from the night before, having not paid attention at that point. Instead, he was a stranger and Samar was definitely not in the mood to be interacting with strangers. That was why she'd come to this place, she assumed. Make it look like the place had been marked and looted, so nobody else would disturb her as she fought through the bane. Samar wondered if the man have the balls to throw her out of the longue, dressed as she was, clearly identifiable. What did this new order look like now?
