Dude that's better than I ever do. I rarely study for exams, if ever. Also, just out of curiosity, where did you get Shea from? -
Ana grumbled when she was pushed forward, but stayed silent otherwise. The first officer stepped forward and took her arm from Ahdi, speaking to her harshly and demanding to know why she had stowaway, asking if she could pay the fine. In almost perfect French, she responded that she only wanted to get to another island, and that she didn't have the money to pay the fine. She kept her head down and kept her voice rough so she wouldn't be noticed as female right away.
The other officer didn't seem too confident to let Toza walk away however, and he spoke to his companion again in very fast French. Ana looked up, confused for a moment as she caught some of the conversation. Something about two years ago and ... money? She wasn't fluent enough to catch when they were speaking this fast and she turned to look back at Toza, eyes narrowed.
"Toza," she spoke in English. "I believe they're onto your profession. Perhaps you should go while you still can."
(Yo maybe Toza and his crew run away but he ends up getting arrested and while he's in his cell, Ana comes along (having gotten away from her current captors) and helps him out of his cell? idk.)

Ugh, sorry I got distracted by a game show. )
If you don’t mind me asking, what time zone are you in? )
That’s normally me as well. However, if I don’t do well on this particular test I might very well fail/get very behind on a subject so I’m trying to cram as much info in my head as possible)
Honestly I was just gonna put Spea(from speaks) but then I thought spea sounded a lot like shea, from shea butter, so really it was just word association lol )
Toza pursed his lips as the taller Haitian spoke to his comrade. Of all the languages he knew French was one of his weakest, but he made out the word bastard quite clearly and it caught him off guard.
“W-what…?” At Ana’s warning he paled visibly. That could only mean he had stumbled upon one of the former members of the rebel group. Of course, from all the damned luck on land or sea it just had to be one of them. Calming his racing heart he jabbed a nod in Ahdi’s direction and the younger man flicked an ear back, understanding the gesture. The pair began edging swiftly, but casually away. If they could make it out of the square they’d be home free, Toza’s crew was still aboard and the matter of pulling up the anchor would only be a matter of minutes with the whole crew at work. “Oi!” Called one of the policemen, noticing their departure. “Ah, fur peter’s confounded sake!” Cursed the captain and the unfortunate pair both broke into a dead sprint.
Hurtling through the crowded center Ahdi nearly collided with an old man, but Toza got a hold of his arm, pulling him grimly along. They made it out of the square without looking back and turned sharply into a small deserted alley.
Sorry, my reply is really choppy. )
That sounds good. Oh! Maybe one of his crew turns on him, maybe ahdi(cuz traitorous first mate cliché also he’s the only one with him), and they run for a bit and ahdi lets him get caught and goes back to the ship, how does that sound?)

That's all good. owo AEST. Australian Eastern Standard. As I type this it's 10.19 am. Good Luck wth the test and the studying! And that's cool! I don't mind. It's a cute nickname. -- (I love traitorous first mates x3 I'm just going to reply with the assumtion that Adhi tripped him.)
Ana was dragged along towards the jail cell. She saw that Adhi and Toza had run, with several officers after him. The officer holding her had still not realised her gender and that she was grateful for. She didn't want to think what would happen if she was found out. As she was tossed into the cell, she turned around and pushed the guard, while swiping his key from his pocket. He swung a punch at her head and she took it to keep up with her image. It didn't hurt much, but it did make her wound from the attack on the ship flare up. The guard slammed the door and stormed away, none the wiser that his keys were gone.
As Toza fell to the ground after being tripped, the guards swarmed him, picking up, threatening him with swords. They spoke very fast, and it seemed to be debating whether or not they tke him to the hang now or to one of the cells. One of the officers slapped him and another laced handcuffs on him as they dragged him towards the prison.

I swear to god british game shows will be the death of me, I've done it again. xc ) Oh, down under. In all my years on the forums I’ve never met anyone from Australia. ) Thank you. ^^) ‘Kay, shea it’ll be then. ) That works. ) You know, I realized I never gave Toza’s ship a name. )
Ahdi made his escape quickly, leaving a furious but dazed Toza behind. He melted into the marketplace and lessened his pace, a slow smile creeping over his normally placid features. The captain would be hung shortly, if not immediately, leaving him free from any vengeance on Toza’s part. Ahdi was now, by default, the owner and captain of the black Lotus-no- he could think up a new name, a better one - after all it was his ship now; maybe the ocean’s bloody maiden. That was better. Breaking into a lighthearted whistle the treacherous first mate made his way to the dock with a spring in his step. As soon as they raised anchor he’d be free to go wherever he wanted. Maybe Venezuela, that sounded nice. _ Toza was given an unceremonious push into his cell; one officer still wringing his hand from the deeply embedded teeth marks the sailor had left on it. “Damn you all!” He bellowed, wriggling as best he could against the handcuffs, blood tinged eye blazing. The other was swollen shut from a well-aimed rifle butt, after he had attempted to claw an officer’s eyes out with the metal of his hand cuffs.
After the officers departed, and he was left alone with his thoughts, the blood slowly cleared from his vision. Sipping out a mouthful of blood and a tooth Toza scooted to the black of his cell, resting his back against the dirty bricks. He gazed up at the tiny window above him and let out a sigh. Damn that Adhi, so this is how he was repaid for everything he had done for him. But he should have known better, should have seen it coming. Dropping his aching head he groaned again. So this was how it would end. Hanged like a common theft.

I'm glad to be your first! also can i just point out the correct term is hanged when a person is hanged. I know its grammatically incorrect, but it is correct in that term. -
In the few hours that followed, Anastasia had escaped and collected what weapons she could find around the city while also sending an eagle for a newly forged blade so Toza could keep the one that he stole. She slipped back inside the prison a few moments before the executioner could collect Toza for his hanging. She jumped the man and slit his throat, leaving him sitting up against the wall like he had been sleeping. She took his keys, having discarded the ones that she had stolen earlier.
Ana stepped passed the several cells and stopped by Toza's. She leant on the bars and stared in from under her hood. She placed the key in the lock and turned, staring in at him.

Ugh, English is such a weird language, sorry about that. And thank you for pointing it out, I’ll definitely try to remember that.)
So sorry I wasn’t on yesterday, ended up being movie night after I got back and then I fell asleep )
Toza laid slumped against the wall. His eyes were closed, in an attempt to lessen the pounding in his head, but thus far it was proving useless. The sun was obscured behind clouds and so what little light he had before had diminished greatly, leaving the pirate practically in the dark. Upon hearing the approach of footsteps he opened his one good eye, propping himself up hurriedly with cuffed hands. “What’d ya want?” He asked, squinting in the poor light at the cloaked figure before him. “I can tell ya if ye came to hear me beg for my life yer at the wrong bloody cell. Shove off.” What he wouldn’t give for a weapon of some sort, anything to defend himself and maybe get away, or at least give them something to remember him by. But he had already searched through the dirty hay pushed up against one corner, felt along the walls for some loose brick or sliver of wood or stone, there was nothing.

Ana smiled a bit, slightly amused. It was a complete role reversal right now, him being in a cell and she being free. Her smile soon faded at his words and she sighed quietly, swinging the door open. She pulled a small flask from her pocket as she stepped in, cautiously stepping over to him. "I just wondered," She said in a low voice, "If you wanted some water before we went back to claim your ship." She shifted her feet slightly, offering the water.

It's almost 5 o'clock in the morning and I have somewhere to be at 11 today so I'll be hitting the hay again after this reply )
Toza spluttered. "Blondie?" he was about to add The hell you've come back for? but thought better of it. He took the proffered flask, unscrewing the cap eagerly and taking a few good swigs. He poured a few drops to loosen the dried blood from his wound. "Thank you, but I'm sure that theft Ahdi is long gone now." He returned the flask, nodding in thanks. “Say, ya wouldn’t happen to have the key for des beauties?” He jab his head in the direction of his restraints.

Anastasia took the flask back from him and slid it back in place in her coat. She smiled again, "Anastasia. That's my name." She responded, stepping back over to the door when she retrieved the keys. She bent down in front of him and unlocked his cuffs, tossing them to the side along with they keys. She stood again and offered him a hand. "Although Ahdi may be a traitor, I assume that some members of your crew would protest him being the new Captain. What about Dayana?" She stood again and patted at her pockets for a moment before she pulled out a blade. Flipping it in her hand, she grasped at the bladed end with her gloved hands and offered it to him.

Hey, how's it going? ) Oh, I just realized it's wintertime in Australia, right? How's the weather there? )
Toza refused Ana’s help, getting up fairly easily with the support of the wall behind him. “Anatasia, eh? I’m in yer debt.” Toza took the offered dagger with another nod of thanks. He ran the blade lightly over his rough hands, contemplating the matter of his crew. “Doesn’t matter what they think. If Ahdi tells ’em I’ve been offed then da ship’s his by right, I’ve told ‘em so myself. Dayana’s a good gal, but she won’t think much of it.” He paused for a second, adding softly. “Of the thirty men who’ve served me in the seven years I’ve already lost ten to one end or another; of the nine cap’ns I’ve served under seven are already dead, we live that sort of life.”

Eh. It was like 19 degrees Celcius yesterday. It was 8 this morning. all in all, it's been a very warm winter. Which sucks.
Someone shouted down the hall. Ah, so they'd found the executioner 'sleeping' on the job. "Toza, you spared my life when you so easily could have taken it. I think the debt that I had for you has been repaid - however, that is not the reason for this breakout. If anyone is going to kill you, it will be me, so by right, your life is mine until further notice." She stepped out into the hallway first, scouting out to make sure no guards would see them leave. "If we head to the docks, you may be able to commandeer a boat to get your ship back." She turned her head to him, her features still hidden by the hood. "Assuming that you do want it back."

That's still pretty nice weather, beats 36 or 37. )
Oh, were we planning for them to take some time to get back the ship? Because I'd imagine by now they're probably well underway to where ever they're going. )
“Fair enough, I’m grateful all the same.” Toza shrugged, following her out. “ ‘Course I want it back, I spent most of my life workin’ for it.” He retorted, rather hotly, gripping the handle of his new weapon. “Is there a back way outta here?” He wasn’t confident in his ability to fend off any assailants, much less armed, in his current condition. There were a few more startled shouts; some more men had arrived in the passageway. Toza cursed under his breath, readying himself for a fight.

Anastasia had practically dragged Toza through the city, and when they reached a small hut on the town borders, she pushed him inside, following after him. "Stay here for a little while. I'll lead the guards away and circle back and get your gear." She explained, moving over to a moldy brick wall. She kicked away a brick and bend down and pulled out a paper package that looked like it had been freshly placed. She opened it and pulled out a new longsword in a sheathe - she tossed the one that she had on the ground and tied it to her belt. There was also a set of gauntlets. One was bulkier than the other. She glanced at him before looking back down to the weaponry that she had picked up, She slid both gauntlets onto her arms. The bulkier one had a glove with various bits of metal and when she flicked her hand down, a blade extended from within the gauntlet itself. The other seemed to just act as a piece of armor.
Ana looked over at the window, before looking at Toza, "stay put, Captain." She told him, "if you want to keep your head." And with that, she vanished out of the door and disappeared down the street, several guards after her.
It was a few hours later when she returned. She had a small cut on her cheek and there was blood on the side of her robes. She offered him his old gear, including the blades which had once been her own, she had, however, taken the belt that held a large set of throwing knives, that were all missing. There was a small loaf of bread on top of it all. "Here."

Toza raised an eyebrow, but stayed put all the same. "Sometimes...I get the feelin' she's mockin' me..." He muttered under his breath, touching his wounded eye gingerly.
__
Toza took his gear with a nod, accepting a meager amount of the bread as well. He took in her appearance with curiosity as he broke of a piece of his share of the food. So, o great assassin, how did it go? Well, I gather." He asked, ripping off a piece of a tattered sleeve and wrapping the rest of his rations for later. Anastasia was proving to be a bigger mystery than he at first thought. Not that he was mistrustful of her, the conversation at the prison seemed to paint her motives quite plainly. He took picked up one his blackjack and examined its condition. It seemed none the worse for wear, though undeniable dusty. They had probably thrown it in some storeroom with the rest of the weapons they confiscated from prisoners.

"I jumped off the highest tower on the prison." She replied as if she had done it time and time before, "They're likely looking around in the city for my scattered remains." She sent him a small smirk. She looked down at her blades as she crossed back over to the paper parcel where there were several smaller throwing knives nestled within. She started to slide them into the belt that she had for them. "They're likely still looking for you, however." She replied, sounding a bit more sombre. "I say that we get on the next ship," she suggested, brandishing a large bag of coin. "And head somewhere where you won't be hanged at first sight."
