Longstar heard Oren's slip and narrowed his eyes, understanding that there were two cats there. He could see that Dandelion was a young cat, and clearly less cautious. The brief sight of the other cat that quickly ducked into hiding was likely more shrewd - and perhaps more skilled, the leader guessed. He flicked his tail to signal for Cedarpaw's attention, and then flicked his ears forward to tell his apprentice to stalk Dandelion, while he would focus on perhaps the larger threat. The large golden brown tom did not wait for longer than a few seconds to see if Cedarpaw would follow his orders. He lunged through the tall grass to pin Oren, the black and ginger tom having given away his general location by his noise. Oren knew it was coming even before he heard the rustle of the tall grass, but released a sharp, surprised yelp as a larger cat lunged at him. He leapt back, fur bristling, only a whisker away from escaping certain death. Only once Oren regained his composure after that close call did he fully register the golden brown tom looming before him. Fox-dung. He could probably kill me if he wanted to. He swallowed, claws unsheathing automatically. Oren would not allow himself to be afraid for long, however. His own life, and more importantly his sister's, were both on the line here. He fell into a crouch, bracing himself for whatever this older cat had and tail lashing behind him. In a fight like this, Oren thought, a cat cannot be too careful. Going on the offense is only gonna expose my weak spots. So he waited for the other to strike—and from there... who knew if he'd make it out alright? But he had faith in Dandelion, who in all her stupid impulsivity and overtrusting nature, was much smarter and capable than he could ever be. At least she'll be fine.
Longstar held his ground over Oren, his tail lashing, but he otherwise did not move for the moment. He knew he had the upper hand whether they entered battle or not, so the leader preferred to dig for information before using any claws. After all, many outsiders proved to be good clanmates, if they were willing to join. However, if these rogues only intended to stay on their territory and steal prey, that would be a different story... "This is NightClan territory. What are your intentions here?" He growled.

Mothpaw glanced at the kits then back to Whiteblaze. "Sure! I can do that." She purred, slipping inside the nursery. "Take your time, Whiteblaze!" She sat down on the far edge of the nursery opposite of the queen. She seemed to be beaming as she watched the two kits play fight. She felt a pang in her heart though too, she had wished she had kit hood like that. "Hey, kits, do you want to to play moss ball? I think if we are careful enough, and it's alright with Whiteblaze, we could try it out." Hollykit trotted to stand with Mothpaw and he beamed. "I love mossball! Do apprentices play mossball?" He asked curiously, dancing on his paws as though he couldn't bear to sit still for even a second. Bravekit sat down close to Mothpaw's side, nodding in agreement. "It's fun!" She commented.

Foxtail would hardly say he was an expert on such matters, but he did feel as though he could help with something like this. "I think you need to talk to her, you don't know how she's feeling and she might benefit from your help." Foxtail knew that if he were in the same sort of situation he would want to talk to someone about it, after his mate and kit's death he knew what it was like to struggle alone, have no one really to talk to. While Stormpath and Mothpaw's situations were different, he could see her needing someone to talk to as well. And no one better than your sibling. "I think you should do it alone, I don't want to intrude," he did have to note before sighing, "but if you want me to come, then yes, I suppose I can put up with your family drama."

"I don't think they do, though I believe at heart we all still want to. It's just difficult to find the time in between training for us to play around like that." She mewed, standing up and looking around the den for a suitable piece of moss. "Hmm, do you guys already have a moss ball?" She asked them, not seeing any in her direct line of sight. "If not, we can go looking around the camp for a fresh piece of moss, perhaps Weaselfoot would have some in his den." Bravekit turned around and started to trot to the corner where she and her brother kept their moss ball, but Hollykit stopped her with a flick of his tail. The brown tabby she-cat blinked at her littermate, confused. "Ooh, let's go to the medicine den!" Hollykit chirped, bouncing on his paws, gushing with excitement. He was ready to use any excuse to go sneaking around. (I'm gonna give Mothpaw the hardest time babysitting xD )

“Real fun!” Bravekit chirped in agreement, practically pressing herself against Mothpaw’s leg as she followed her. “I want to hunt good, like you!”
Hollykit took advantage of his chance to explore, the skinny tom scrambling to inspect the brambles that shielded their camp. He sniffed along the tangled brambles until he found a gap among the thorns, and then he quickly started to try and squeeze himself through.

{Mothpaw}
When she saw movement out of the corner of her eyes and she quickly ran over to Hollykit, pulling him out before he could escape the camp. "What are you doing? If you had escaped think about the consequences. You could have your apprentice ceremony put back! Or could have gotten hurt." She wasn't sure about the apprentice ceremony thing but she knew it was dangerous for a kit to leave camp unsupervised or at all. "Stay with me please Hollykit, I can't have you getting out!" She pleaded, hoping he would listen to her. She tried to look back at Bravekit every now and then, realizing she had just left that one alone too. {Stormpath} He saw a flash of the she-cat's pelt as she pulled a kit out of the brambles and he let out a sigh of relief. "No, she's kit sitting right now. Perhaps we should wait? Do you know where Beewing is? We should ask him if it's okay in the meantime." The warrior scanned the clearing once more, hoping to spot the tom. He still wasn't sure how Beewing would react, not a lot of cats even realized the torn relationship between the two of them.

Hollykit beamed up at Mothpaw, unfazed by her warnings. He was also unfazed by his now bleeding ear, which had been caught on one of the bramble thorns when the apprentice pulled him back into camp. "That's fine. I don't want to become an apprentice if it means I have to leave the nursery and mama." He mewed.
Bravekit stood watching with wide eyes for a moment, before hurrying to join them, pressing her pelt against Mothpaw's leg. She looked around somewhat anxiously, her ears pinning back in realization. "Where is Mama?" She asked, "Did she go away?"

Mothpaw let out a frustrated hum and whisked Hollykit up onto her back, she let out an oof when he landed and ushered Bravekit next to her. "Well, Hollykit, bad kits get in trouble with their mothers, would you want that?" She asked, padding towards the medicine cat's den quickly. She could already here their mother's words when she saw the bleeding ear of her kit. "As for where she's at, she went to stretch her legs. She will be back later, okay? She didn't go too far I'm sure." She put it softly for Bravekit, trying to ease her worry.

>> Voidastral : I don't think you ever responded to this a couple of pages back, heh <<"Take your time," he offered the first piece of advice, gaze watching his apprentice as he moved slowly, almost encircling her like a predator, "Watch my movements, pace yourself, aim right between my shoulders." He wanted her to be successful, wanted her to be capable, but he didn't want to make it easy for her. "Come on," he tried again, stopping for just a moment, though constantly ready to spring out of the way.
Foxtail's head turned just as Mothpaw came out of the nursery, Bravekit and Hollykit tumbling in front of her. "She does seem like she's busy at the moment," he agreed, watching the kits with almost a fond gaze, remembering when Lilypaw had been that young. That was before she had lost her mother and her brother. They were good times and memories he still held onto with some fondness. But he shook his head, repressing those memories to turn his mind back to the present, blue eyes now searching for some sign of Beewing. "I haven't seen him either," he admitted as he slowly padded around in search of the other warrior, "But I shouldn't think he would mind all too much if we borrowed his apprentice for a little."

(( ahh no i didnt see it!! So sorry! ᏼꮖꭱꭰꭱꮖ🇳ꮐ )) Maskedpaw nods, taking her time again to watch her mentor before pouncing. She is almost successful, missing by only a scrape. The apprentice continues to try a few more times before she is finally able to land it fairly consistently, though she still has her stutters as everyone else does.

>> it's fine, hehe, happens to me a lot <<
Maskedpaw was getting better with every leap, Whisperwing noted, taking his time to try and mix up his movements like this was a real battle. In the heat of a battle he doubted that cats would be standing still for you to jump right on top of them. "Good," he meowed in encouragement when she landed the first time, eager to see if she could land it fairly consistently from then on out. It wasn't perfect, but it was better than missing every single time. "Now, say you landed your pounce, what would be the next thing you would do? You plan of attack."

Maskedpaw tried to think fast. Thats what warriors did, think fast act even faster. "Right, I'd dig my claws onto the enemy incase they try to throw me off." She said firmly, though she still looked to her mentor for approval.

If it were up to him, he would never have gotten himself into this mess. Dandelion started all of it. Caught up in all this frustration, the tom cat didn't notice that his entire pelt was bristling and that he stood with a slight bend in his legs, braced for a potential battle between the two. An automatic reaction to the hostile atmosphere.

The tom's evasion of a full answer had him worried. He didn't want a group of cats possibly squatting in NightClan territory along with the two they had found. "How many are with you?"

Hollykit grumbled a complaint at being forced to ride the apprentice instead of freely exploring, and he quickly and carefully wobbled unsteadily to jump off of Mothpaw's back, his twig-like tail flicking. "Why can't we go out, yet? We're big enough." He puffed.
