It was easy to sense the disappointment as the text's filtered back in. Of course, this stranger jumped at the opportunity of having her on his arm at this high-class function. She pushed the thought aside and steeled herself for what was to come, listening as he developed his plan of action. Knowing that this time tomorrow they would have more money in their pockets and all of this would be a thing of the past.
It would all be worth it.
She watched as he moved away, making to leave the room, leaving her alone. Before swinging back to her at the last moment and wrapping her in a fierce embrace. A small squeak of surprise escaped her, but almost instinctively she melted into his touch, her soft lips playing against his, kissing him back with a passion that was theirs and theirs alone. When he broke away she was left feeling cold, an emptiness whereas before she had felt complete.
His comment enticed a small chuckle, as the image of them in some back country town, sitting beneath the shade of a willow tree and surrounded by miniature versions of themselves filled her mind. In some ways it wasn't an idea that displeased her, a family maybe did lie somewhere in her future. Neither, however, would be willing to give up this life of theirs. The thrill of their heists was everything. She had seen more in their time together than she had ever thought she would. Having resigned herself to the thought of working in that shady diner until she was old and grey. She couldn't live with that certainty, it was dull and if there was ever a word that you thought of when picturing this femme fatale 'dull' was not it.
"How about we trade out the 'twee cottage' for a swanky restaurant and the cider for champagne. That sounds far more my style." She suggested with that teasing inclination of her head.
A short while later the two had parted company, Eric off to source the high tech tools they would need and Amelia in the direction of a lower class motel where she had booked a room. From here she would not be compromising one of their better hide-outs, and if after this all went down her companion for the evening tried to track her down he would find nothing that would allow him to trace her. He had arranged to collect her just before six that evening, so she took some time to select an appropriate outfit, nothing too sensual, but enough to keep his attentions firmly where she wanted them. She selected a new dress, one she had not worn before, gun metal grey in colour that hugged her body perfectly. Thick straps ran over her shoulders before vanishing into a plunging neckline, revealing just enough bosom to have the men around her drooling, perhaps a little too much, but she hoped Eric would forgive her, knowing it was for good cause.
When her phone vibrated, alerting her to the arrival of her ride, she stepped outside of the motel room she had hired. The place wasn't overly shady, but it was cheap, which worked with her story, a country girl new to the city in search of work. To further work with this story she wore only earings, as instructed by Eric, and a long thin chain with a feather pendant that rested in that valley between her breasts. The door to the limo was opened for her and she stepped in, admiring the luxury as an innocent country girl who was not used to such finery would do.
Their discussion on the journey was succinct, mostly him talking about how beautiful she looked, and her pretending that she was flattered. She was glad when the driver stopped the car before a sprawling manse that would be their evening venue. She accepted help from the car and linked her arm through his. All part of the act. Already her eyes scanned her surroundings for Eric whilst she feigned nervousness at their arrival.
