Buzzardglide had been making good progress throughout the tunnel system, retracing her steps, following the markings she had left. Her pace slowed when she reached the small chambered room that had housed the playing cards and chairs, her ears pricked af the sound of scurrying and squeaking. A mouse? No... A rat. A fat, plump, thieving rodent scurried around on top of the table, it’s nose twitching as it searched for food. Buzzardglide wasn’t about to catch it, she had her run in with rats before, when she was an apprentince. Much unlike their mice brethren, rats just seemed to ooze with disease. She wasn’t about to risk getting a clan mate sick by feeding them the infected carcass of such vermin. She moved to the side in order to by pass the rodent. As she got closer, the rats head raised, and upon seeing the large cat before them, it squeaked in alarm and ran to jump off the table. As it’s back legs kicked back in panic, it’s foot bumped into a metal cup that had been turned over on the table. The force was enough to make the cup roll, and with a deafening loud clang it hit the floor, rolling across the ground. The noise on it’s own normally wouldn’t be too bad... But in a cave, the sound traveled far, and it bounced all along the walls, disrupting the slumbering bats further down... Buzzardglide froze in place, her ears swiveling to a sound deeper in the cave. Flapping wings, chittering cries. It was getting louder, and it was getting closer. Buzzardglide’s pupils shrunk in fear, before she could even see a single bat the golden tabby tore across the cave floor, legs pumping, carrying her a fast as they could. She swerved right, and was back onto the main hall of the cave system, she could see daylight far ahead of her as the mouth of the cave opened up to the rest of FlintClan territory. Though, right as she wasn’t sprinting down the hall, her body collided with Crowksip who had just merged onto the hall as well. With a loud oof the two collided, and Buzzardglide was sent sprawling to the ground.

Crowskip | accompanied by Buzzardglide [ 𝑮ᴀᴍᴢεε ☣ ] One moment, Crowskip was daydreaming about what she'd have to eat once she got back to camp, and the next, she was on her back and seeing stars. "Mrr-ah!" She let out a surprised screech as something came shooting out of the adjoining tunnel and cannoned into her side. She was lightweight enough for the impact to carry her off her feet. She hit the floor and skidded, winding up upside-down and staring at the ceiling as it spun overhead. "What in the--" She blinked rapidly and rolled onto her belly, digging her claws into the earth as a cloud of bats stormed over her. She pinned her ears against her skull as the horrible creatures swirled around her. Oh StarClan, please don't bite me!
A few seconds later, they had all but disappeared. One lone bat zipped over her shoulder, ruffling her fur, squeaking frantically as it struggled to catch up to the rest. Crowskip stayed absolutely still, breathing fast and hard as she waited for her heartbeat to slow. Once she got her breath back, she stood up on trembling legs, adrenaline pumping through her body. Across from her crouched Buzzardglide, whose eyes were wide with fear. Crowskip stared at her, briefly disoriented, before recognition dawned on her face. "Oh! That was you who ran into me?"
She padded over to her companion and gave her shoulder a playful poke, eyes shining. "You can get up now, don't worry! I scared those bats away," she added, stifling a giggle. To her right she saw one of her mice laying limply at the base of the tunnel wall. She had no idea where the other one had been flung during the surprise bat attack. Something about the whole situation struck her as ridiculously funny, and she started to laugh. "Maybe we should've tried to catch one," she joked, trotting over to inspect her mouse for damage. "Is that even possible? I wonder what bat would taste like." She snorted. "Imagine the look on Hornetstar's face!" She picked up her prey by its tail and cast her gaze around for the missing mouse.

When the last of the bats had stormed over head, Buzzardglide’s slowly pushed up to all fours again, her head spinning, partly from the impact, and partly from the adrenaline. Her heart was still beating fast, shame washed over her as she looked over to Crowskip who she had rudely bowled over during the fray. She had opened her mouth and wa starting to form the words ‘I’m sorry,’ but Crowskip was already joking about it! Buzzardglide was frozen for a moment, unsure if it was appropriate for her to joke along... She should have been profusely apologizing to her clan mate, she was stunned that Crowskip was so... cheerful! “Y-Yes I’m... Very sorry about that, I - heh.” She paused, biting on her words for a moment before letting out an exhaled... chuckle! Buzzardglide snickered, a strange sort of chortle coming from her chest, a sound she was hardly even aware she could make. ”Thank you, for scaring them off. I guess I’m uh. I’m a little afraid of... Bats.” Her voice was warm, and so was her smile. Buzzardglide was relieved that Crowskip let it slide like water under a bridge. ”I found those things a while ago, back deeper in the cave - and I managed not to disturb them. But in my way back, a pesky rat made quite a commotion, and... Jeez, you can imagine how terrified I was looking back and seeing all of those things come flapping at me.” Buzzardglide’s hackels rose, but she quickly smoothed them to get a hold of herself, and cleared her throat. She noticed that Crowskip was searching for something, and pieces together that it must have been a piece of her prey that had been blown away. ”Oh, here, let me help.” Buzzardglide offered, and began to search around the other side of the hallway.

Hornetstar - - - Crowskip {Tealraven } Buzzardglide {𝑮ᴀᴍᴢεε ☣ }
The dark ginger tabby had made reasonable depths into the tunnel system by the time he realised it was likely a good idea to begin the retracing of his steps. By this point it was all but midnight black, and even the leader's sharp vision struggled to pick up the intricate patterns of the tunnels he travelled through. His kithood had been filled with the stories of cats who'd been lost in the depths of this dangerous place, and the few lucky enough to return had been driven insane by the nothingness. Hornetstar was by no means a coward, but even he had the good sense to return above ground whilst the scent of fresh air still lingered around him. And make sure Sunflowerpaw hasn't managed to get herself lost, the thought was mostly a playful one. But the medicine cat apprentice was his daughter, and hence an ever lasting source of worry. Weaving his way back, following his own scent - that of moorland and pine needles with cautious paws. Stopping only every once in a while to pick up a mouse or rat he had left amidst the tunnels. By the time the ground underfoot had begun an incline, the light had begun to filter through and now he was guided by eyesight rather than scent alone. Jaws clamped around three mice and a rounded rat, his eyes were burning with the triumph and adrenaline of a successful hunt. Said expression would likely have continued, had it not been for the yelp of surprise that echoed around him. What in the name of StarClan? Eyes narrowing with concern, and paws picking up until they were at the pace of a swift jog. For now he didn't betray too much worry onto his lips, not until he had further proof that something could be wrong. But Hornetstar wasn't too proud to admit the sound had surged concern through his chest, and not one that would filter away until he was quite certain everything was ok. Advancing into the sunlit quarry, paws treading more carefully now on the off chance it was indeed a predator waiting to ambush the muscled leader as he slipped in the direction of where his clanmates had dissapeared. Prepared for a fight but not deeming it a necessity depending on what he found along with his clanmates. But the leader quickly relaxed when the sound of not battle or pain came to his ears, instead the laughter and familiar voices of his clanmates. The tension pulling free of his frame as he pushed onward across the muddy area, until he came into view of Crowskip and Buzzardglide, dropping the pieces of fresh kill into a small pile at his side. "Good to see you've had success," he said with an almost smile on his lips. "I was worried you might need saving from some almighty rat, from the sound I heard before." He was a little more playful than would have been considered normal for the reserved tom cat.

Crowskip | accompanied by Hornetstar [ 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ ] and Buzzardglide [ 𝑮ᴀᴍᴢεε ☣ ] Crowskip grinned at Buzzardglide, whiskers twitching in amusement. "Don't be sorry! I guessed it was probably an accident. Besides," she added, dipping her head in a mock bow and making a melodramatic face, "rescuing a Clanmate from certain peril? All part of the job!" She only kept the expression for about a heartbeat before she cracked, and started to laugh again. "It's what any selfless warrior would do!"
She padded over to join the golden tabby in looking for the mouse. Heading in the direction Buzzardglide had indicated, she was able to pick up the faint scent of dead rodent. Her mouth began to water once more, and her stomach gurgled quietly. She'd skipped breakfast this morning, since elders and queens must be fed before warriors and apprentices. She glanced furtively at Buzzardglide, hoping she hadn't heard. The black molly found the mouse in a crumpled heap near the tunnel entrance. She wrinkled her nose. It wasn't pretty to look at, but not damaged beyond being edible. Food was still food, after all. As she bent her head to pick it up, she heard an additional set of pawsteps on earth behind her.
"Hi, Hornetstar," she chirped, trotting across the floor to the first mouse, near where Buzzardglide was standing. "We, uh... had a bit of an adventure!" She gestured to Buzzardglide, then did a doubletake. Her companion didn't appear to be carrying any prey. Did she leave it somewhere in the tunnels when the bats attacked her? Or maybe she hadn't caught any yet when it happened? As Hornetstar approached the hunting duo, Crowskip nudged one of her mice between Buzzardglide's paws without looking away from the Clan leader. "Hey, by the way, where did Sunflowerpaw get off to?" She asked casually.
