Snowpaw listened intently, his mouth slightly agape with awe. So StormClan warriors really hunted hawks and eagles? He'd never seen one on the freshkill-pile, so when he'd heard the elders' stories about how even the predators of the sky lived in fear of StormClan, he had never truly believed them. "That's so cool!" he gasped, eyes wide, "Have you ever hunted an eagle, Badgertuft?" The white-furred tom gazed up at his mentor, awe-struck, with his odd eyes; he was suddenly a lot more excited to try out bird-stalking, and his paws were shifting with anticipation.
Plumpaw scrambled backwards and bunched her haunches again, launching herself at her mentor. She collided with Streamheart's flank, paws outstretched but claws properly sheathed, and focused all her strength into her shoulders as she attempted to shove the older she-cat over onto her side. She caught her paw on a small stone sticking out of the ground and yelped as she tripped over it, effectively decreasing the precision of her landing as she hit Streamheart at a rather odd angle. She cursed - almost out loud, but she bit her tongue - and hoped that StarClan's will was in her favour today.
Breezebounce skidded to a harsh halt in the dirt, tearing up grass beneath his claws, as Owlswoop sprang from his hiding spot and sank his claws into the rabbit. Breathing heavily, the tom bounded over to where his friend had hit the ground, hopefully dragging the rabbit with him. He purred as he came close enough to see the rabbit clenched between the tan tom's teeth, limp and lifeless. "You got it!" he beamed, tail-tip twitching happily, "Your jump was so good - you landed right on it!" He admired their catch for a silent moment, chest swelling with pride, before meeting Owlswoop's eyes again. "I hope the queens like it," his voice was a little more restrained as he spoke again, "maybe enough to want us as mentors..?"
Sunstar let out an indignant, very un-leaderly yelp as a scrap of moss hit him in the eye, and his fur fluffed out. He glanced at Mossfoot, pelt burning hot with embarrassment, and cleared his throat. "Alright, little ones," he called out, his voice cracking a little bit, "I think that's enough now." He attempted to straighten himself and flatten his fur, but he was on the verge of laughter and it was quite hard to compose himself even in the presence of one of his warriors.

Plumpaw bounded to her paws and shook out her pelt, her eyes shining with delight at Streamheart's praise. A loud purr erupted from deep within her chest and to one looking on it would've seemed as though the apprentice was vibrating on the spot. "I did it!" she repeated, obvious disbelief evident in her voice, "I really did it!" She bounced on the spot a few times, happy little chirrups escaping her. "When I'm a warrior, I want to be just like you, Streamheart. You've taught me such cool things! None of the other apprentices know any of the special moves you've taught me!" With eyes as round as moons the short she-cat gazed up at her mentor, fur puffed out. At Streamheart's question, she playfully lifted her chin at an obviously exaggerated angle and scoffed, yellow eyes glinting with mock arrogance. "Of course I'm ready! I'll learn it super fast, and get so good that Sunstar will have my warrior ceremony tomorrow!"

Streamheart's whiskers twitched. "Are you sure you didn't already become a warrior when I wasn't looking?" she asked, playing along. "What should I be calling you; Plumfur? Plumblossom?" She circled Plumpaw, trying to refocus her attention. "This move is a bit complicated," she started, eyeing the trees around them. "It's a jump and pin. You're going to bounce back against something solid, most likely a tree, push off of it, and land on your opponent. I'll demonstrate." Streamheart picked up a nearby stick and placed it a few tail lengths away from a tree. Afterwards, and positioned herself in front of the tree, facing the branch. She lowered her haunches and pushed off backwards, directly towards the tree. As she neared it, she extended her hind legs slightly to latch onto the bark, then propelled herself forward. Streamheart stretched our her forelegs and landed directly on top of the stick. She shook a bit of bark from her hind claws and looked towards Plumpaw. "Think you can do it? It'll be one of the hardest moves you'll learn, and it's okay to not get it the first time." She would never admit it to her apprentice, but her demonstration was the first time she had successfully landed the attack.

(hi sorry for my absence! vacation sucked up my time.)
Rushfall shrugged nonchalantly. "I think the most unusual thing that happened was... hm, I'm not sure. One time, before Sunstar became leader, I was out on patrol with him and a few others, and we bumped into a few loners, but they weren't aggressive or anything," he recalled, squinting slightly to try and jog his memory. "...just lost and confused and a bit tired. We had to give them directions on how to get home. ...I almost wished they were hostile, as crazy as that sounds. That greenleaf was quiet and boring. I'm hoping that by the time I join the elders I'll have a few more better stories."
Mossfoot purred with amusement. Sunstar might be leader, but if she was being honest with herself, Mossfoot still saw him the way she saw him when she was younger; she thought maybe that was a tad disrespectful, although she couldn't exactly help it. She trusted his leadership, but the idea brought her back to a warmer, more pleasant time. She figured that was the nostalgia talking, though, and focused back on what was happening. "The kits seem to really like you!" she mewed. "I think that's a good quality for a leader... I wouldn't trust a cat who didn't like kits, or who the kits didn't like..."
(oh god... sunstar is just a baby i love... i love him)

Silverstrike
Silverstrike beamed at the older Warrior. "Well, they're good kids, couldn't just run them off," He grinned over at Bee and Hornet, waving his tail. His open and friendly manner remained as he watched them interact with Quailfang. The silver tabby snickered at Quailfang, trying to muffle it when the older Warrior glared at him. "Half the age and half the experience, Quailfang," He meowed reassuringly, grin still wide and feeling a lot more at ease now. He paused slightly, before nudging his Clanmate teasingly, "Thought twice the energy." Bounding away, he bounced to the other side of the two outsiders, chuckling to himself.
"Quailfang is a Senior Warrior," He explained to Hornet as he motioned for the two young cats to follow, "Which means that yes, he may be old, but he's still able to kick the tail of most of the other Warriors in the Clan including mine." He puffed out his chest. "Except maybe my sister, Thistleshade," He chirped, prancing along happily, "She's the Deputy and I think she's the best Warrior in the entire Clan." He basely ignored the thought that Thistleshade would probably smack him over the head for bragging about her again. The she-cat had a much more realistic assessment of her own abilities.
Badgertuft
Badgertuft shook his head. "I've taken part in hunting down an eagle before, but not the actual killing," He explained calmly, smiling at Snowpaw, "They tend to live further up the mountain and rarely approach our territory. Sometimes one gets bold and wants to take advantage of the bounty that StarClan graces us with. It happened once when I was a very young Warrior and a hunting party was sent out to kill it before the Clan lost any kits to the thing. We all tracked it down, but it was the older Warriors who took it down." The tom licked his lips, remembering biting into it, "I remember thinking the taste was very strange when the beast was shared among the entire Clan."
Shaking his head, Badgertuft got to his paws. "Alright, enough stories," He meowed tilting his head towards where the birdsong was coming from, "Let's go see if birds are more your speed. I'll demonstrate first, then you can try the first technique a few times and if you aren't getting it, I'll let you try leaping down from a tree. How does that sound?"

Quailfang's soft chuckle at Silverstrike's antics devolved into a skeptical snort as the younger cat bounded away. "Don't let Thistleshade catch you saying that," he said mildly, following Silverstrike down the path towards camp.
"We're not far from camp," he told Bee and Hornet. He felt like he should say something more - help them gauge how they'd be received - but Sunstar hadn't been a leader long enough for Quailfang to get a solid read on him beyond 'nervous'. ~~ Scorchkit froze immediately. "Sorry!" he yelped. "We didn't mean to - you're not going to send us back to the nursery already, right?" he pleaded, peering up at Sunstar with wide blue eyes that were only just starting to show a hint of the yellow they'd become.

At his use of 'kids', Hornet eyed Silverstrike with an almost petulant frown. Bee caught the expression and huffed a small laugh, thinking that the term probably fit, especially compared to these older cats. Watching the two StormClan cats tease each other, he thought amusedly that they resembled him and Hornet when they were feeling cheeky. It was certainly a good sign that they were both friendly; it helped settle his nerves.
Hornet followed the two toms, Bee padding a step behind at her side. This Thistleshade sounded pretty fierce, and got Hornet thinking about just how many cats they could expect to see at this camp. Quailfang's voice made her glance up. "Really?" she peered further between the trees, trying to guess where the entrance would look like when it appeared. "Isn't it hard to concentrate with all this-" she shook a leaf from her pelt "-debris?" As former field cats, she could tell that she and her brother would have to work at adjusting to this type of terrain. If we stay, she reminded herself.
At the declaration they were close to camp, Bee's ears twitched, uncertainty rising once more in his chest. Trying to distract himself, he turned his head to watch Silverstrike's prancing gait. Maybe he should try and absorb some of the relaxed air the tom seemed to exude.

(Hawkeyes258 feel free to poof back! ^^) "Those names sound pretty cool," Plumpaw beamed, puffing her chest out proudly. When her mentor continued to speak, she quietened obediently and watched as the silver tabby warrior executed the new move. Plumpaw's eyes widened, already worried she'd mess it up and not be able to do it right. "That looks...difficult," she observed with a nervous twitch of her ears, "what if I mess up the landing and sprain my paw or something?" C'mon Plumpaw, it can't be that hard - when did you start second-guessing yourself? Get it together. She turned and crouched, squaring her shoulders in an attempt to mimic Streamheart's stance before she jumped. Glancing over her shoulder she noted that she was at a relatively reasonable distance from the tree, so she figured she'd have a pretty good shot at nailing the landing. She took a deep breath, exchanging a glance and a nervous grin with Streamheart, before swallowing her nerves and springing backwards. She hit the tree, but her back paws slipped from beneath her, failing to grip the bark with her claws, and she slid rather ungracefully to the ground, hitting the dirt with a loud thud and her forepaws splayed out on either side of her. She coughed, flattening her ears to her head and pushing herself to her paws. "So, looks like I've got the backwards bit down at least," she joked sheepishly, massaging her chin with a paw.
Snowpaw nodded, rising to his paws and already unsheathing his claws. He followed Badgertuft in the direction of the birdsong, making sure to keep his ears pricked and alert. "Sounds good," he hummed in agreement, "I'll do my best!" He had been rather inspired by his mentor's recount of the encounter with the eagle, and figured that if that patrol of warriors could bring down a whole entire eagle, he could catch a little sparrow or a finch or whatever bird they came across first. I can do this, it shouldn't be so hard, he tried to tell himself, furrowing his brow determinedly. The white tom picked up the swift flutter of wings beating against leaves to his left, and he peered after the sound, squinting his eyes as he stared into the shadows. "Badgertuft, I hear something over there," he pointed with his tail, looking up at his mentor for approval.
Sunstar was rather taken aback by the kit's sudden state of panic, and he could feel his tail beginning to fluff out again. "N-No, I won't send you back to the nursery," he tried to reassure the tiny tom, "we still have to visit the elders, remember? Come along now." He swept his tail around the kits, ushering them gently away from his den and back out into the sun. "Mossfoot, you're more than welcome to come with," he offered rather hopefully, turning his wide yellow eyes to his former denmate. He chuckled at her comment and twitched an ear with a mrrow. "I'll always have time for the little ones, I hope - even now that I'm supposed to be a miserable old bear," he responded, grinning. He looked back at the kits who were still waiting for him. "I'll race you both to the elders' den, it's just over there," He pointed with his tail towards the den, "and if you manage to beat me I'll tell Redwing all about how you're both going to make excellent warriors."

"Bet I can beat you!" Scorchkit yowled to Spottedkit and tore off immediately, pelting as fast as his legs could carry him towards the elder's den. He was almost there when his paw caught on a rough patch of ground and he tripped, tumbling head-over-tail into the dirt.
"Scorchkit!" Redwing's concerned yowl made him wince.
"I'm okay!" he promised, jumping back to his feet and shaking his head to get the dust out of his eyes.

Spottedkit was very happy when the playing had stopped. She would never admit it, but her brother would have managed to tackle her if Sunstar hadn't interrupted. She didn't really like the rough housing part of play. Not when she couldn't win anyways. All of these thoughts left her when her brother begged the leader not to send them back. Her wide eyes flicked to Sunstar hoping the tom would let them stay a little longer. She didn't really want to stop. This was the most fun they have ever had. She was ready for Sunstar to send them back when the tom challenged them to a race.
Immediately, the kit perked up and bounded out of the den. She wiggled, but waited for the go. When she looked back to say something to the other cats, she heard her brother taking off. She let out a yowl of outrage before chasing after him. She giggled when he tumbled to the ground. Hearing her mother's concern, she did slow down just a bit. The minute her brother was up, she was taking off. "Looks like you're the slow mouse." She taunted as she ran past him.
---
Owlswoop's purr filled the air. Of course, he knew he was good at ambushing but it was nice to hear it from another cat. He set the rabbit down before replying to Breezebounce. "Your weaving and chasing made the jump easy. You were like the wind!" He meowed, still excited from the hunt, "You should have been named Breezeflash or Breezestorm." He picked up the rabbit and placed it in front of his friend. "But of course the queens will love it. When you carry this into camp and deliver a big rabbit to them, they will know you are a great hunter. I think every queen wants their kits to become a great hunter. It's a lot safer than being a great fighter." He took some steps away back towards camp. "Now lets go before that rabbit gets cold. A warm meal is even better. They will be asking Sunstar for us to mentor before you can say Mentorship."

Mossfoot nodded, following along to the elder's den. "Well, I know leadership is a big responsibility, but..." she struggled to find the right words to say. "I think it's important to stay true to you... you know? ...I hope that makes sense. It's a little bit early to get sentimental, but I think you're doing a fine job with the whole thing... StarClan made you leader for a reason." She twitched her whiskers as she watched the kits run. "...But if the stress ever gets to you, I'll always be here to support you." She gave him a soft smile but turned her gaze away to focus on the kits again and began to worry if she said too much. Generally, she was relatively quiet, but she liked letting her opinions and feelings be known... sometimes. She figured Sunstar could use some support, as well; she had noticed how jittery he seemed.

Plumpaw was already about to get back into position when she caught the worry in her mentor's voice. "N-No, it's okay! I just need to keep trying, and I'll get it soon! I promise!" she reassured Streamheart, puffing out her chest a little, "I'm not even hurt, honest!" She straightened herself, bounding back to her previous position to try again, and crouched in a similar way to how she had done before - except this time, she had her paws a little further apart so she wouldn't leap so strongly.
Sunstar gasped, already rushing to where Scorchkit had fallen, panic numbing his nerves and setting his fur on end. "Are you alright, little one?" he asked gently, nosing the tiny tom into a steady position as carefully as he could. Even though the kit seemed relatively unfazed, Sunstar had heard Redwing's yowl and he had tensed up like never before; if Scorchkit had hurt himself on Sunstar's responsibility, then he doubted he'd be able to leave his den for the next three moons out of shame. He made sure the little kit was back on his paws and alright before turning back to Mossfoot, offering the black warrior a warm, appreciative smile. He was grateful to have Mossfoot's support; it seemed like many of his Clanmates didn't fully trust that he knew what he was doing, so it was nice to have someone's encouragement. "I do hope you're right, Mossfoot," he murmured, watching Scorchkit and Spottedkit bound away with a newfound solemnity clouding his yellow eyes, "sometimes I'm really not sure whether I'm the right cat for the job - why did Flightstar choose me? What did she see in me that made me different? The Clan depends on me now, but I don't know what I'm doing and that scares me," he confessed to his former denmate, lifting his gaze to meet hers. "Let's follow the little ones," he beckoned to Mossfoot with a quick movement of his head and began to pad slowly after the kits.
Breezebounce flushed under Owlswoop's praise, his pelt growing warm with timid embarrassment. "Ah, you really think so..?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper as he glanced down at his paws, trying to fight the smile that threatened to creep onto his face, "That really means a lot." He bounded after his friend, rejuvenated by a newfound energy that sent tingles to the tips of his toes and hot blood rushing around his body. "They'll know we are great hunters," he corrected, giving Owlswoop a friendly nudge with his shoulder and grinning at the shorter tom, "and we'll get our first apprentices together! We're bound to after this," he purred jokingly. His whiskers twitched with anticipation; he couldn't wait to see the look on everyone's faces when they hauled that rabbit back to camp!
(I'm going to make a plot planning page in the subpages board so we can organise the roleplay properly! I'm also going to make a poll on there for how the ageing system in the Clan will work.)

Silverstrike
"You'll get used to it if you stick around," Silverstrike chuckled, scenting the air and chirruping softly at the familiar smell of home, "Honestly, I don't even really notice any of it, haven't since I was an Apprentice." The silver tabby perked up as a wall of bramble and thorns appeared in the undergrowth. "Here we are," He chirped happily, paws carrying him a little further across to the entrance to the Camp, "Just be careful. The thorns can snag on your pelt if you aren't used to it." Waving his tail, the Warrior led the way through the tunnel and emerged into Camp, standing to the side to allow the others through.
Badgertuft
"Well done," Bagertuft muttered lowly, approval in his voice as he began leading the way to where the sound of wings came from. HE crouched low, gliding soundlessly over the forest floor. "Stay a little back," He whispered as they approached, eyes locked ahead of them, "And watch closely." He carefully peaked through the leaves ahead, eyeing the birds that were feeding in a small clearing. One was a tiny finch, another a starling and the last a blackbird. Setting his sights on the largest of the three, he inched carefully forward. A slight rattle of the bush behind him with his tail had the three panicked and he leapt forward, aiming for the blackbird.
Badgertuft's eyes narrowed as he realised the bird would be too far from his paws for him to bat it to the ground, so instead he let his claws slide out as he adjusted his swipe to aim for the wings. Snagging a feather, he dragged the bird down and pinned it. A quick bite later and he raised his head to motion for Snowpaw to come out. "Not a bad catch," He meowed as he eyed the bird, "But you can see where I had to change my mind and go for the wings. The wings are usually an easier target on bigger birds like this." He raised his head to smile at Snowpaw. "Any questions?" He purred, tail curled patiently around him.

Scorchkit sneezed. "I'm ok—HEY!" he yowled, tearing off after Spottedkit. "I'll show you who's a slow mouse!"
He bounded after his sister, determined to win, but his tumble had set him too far behind and he skidded to a stop just behind Spottedkit.
"You cheated," he complained, even though she hadn't. He couldn't conceal his purring, though, which took the sting out of the accusation. ~~ Quailfang slipped through the tunnel next, glancing over his shoulder to make sure Bee and Hornet were following. As he emerged into the camp, he spotted Windstep emerging from the warrior's den. He took a few steps out of the way as Windstep padded towards him. ~~ Windstep's eyes twinkled as she approached her brother. "You just missed the show," she purred. "One of Redwing's kits took a nosedive into the dirt." She glanced past them towards the tunnel. "Who do I smell?"

Watching Quailfang disappear in front of her through the entrance, Hornet winced in anticipation of the thorns Silverstrike had mentioned and stepped forward. She could feel them lightly tug against her fur, but luckily none of them snagged or tangled. Feeling more confident, she pushed stronger through the brambles until she came out at the other side. Her tail waved in excitement, catching briefly on one of the brambles, and she pulled it away with a sheepish glance at Quailfang and Silverstrike. She completely forgot about her embarrassment, though, when she saw the open space before her. The number of cats. The bustling activity. She'd never seen anything like it.
Bee had followed his sister in, feeling the thorns gently scraping his pelt and hoping he didn't find any snagged in his fur later. He nearly ran into Hornet's side, smoothly side-stepping her waving tail and immediately assessing the clearing before him. He could hear the voice of young cats, maybe kits, and saw older cats as well, including a ticked brown tabby who was near Quailfang. There's so many of them, he realized, moving to stand a little closer to his littermate. He hadn't known what to expect, but it was dawning on him just how big this group of cats was.

Streamheart looked her apprentice over once more before forcing her fur to lie flat. "Well... Alright. If you think you can do it without hurting yourself." She padded over to the tree and sat next to it so she could keep a closer eye on Plumpaw's movement. Maybe if I'm closer, I can catch her if she falls, she thought as she examined her surroundings. The warrior still had a glimmer of concern in her eyes, though she tried to hide it.
Tallwhisker stood where she was sunning with her brother as she noticed Windstep talking with her littermate. With a purr, she padded towards her mother, waving her tail towards Nightclaw behind her. As she reached her, Tallwhisker nuzzled her mother's shoulder in a friendly greeting. "Windstep, Quailfang, hello!" she greeted them enthusiastically. As the scent of strangers reached her nose, she tilted her head. "Do we have guests?" As the strange cats stepped forward, the young warrior perked up. "Oh, hello! I'm Tallwhisker! Who are you two?"

Windstep's ears perked up as her kits approached, licking Tallwhisker's ear and purring at Nightclaw in greeting. "Yes, do introduce us," she said, turning back to her brother.
Quailfang's whiskers twitched as he dipped his head in greeting to both Tallwhisker and Nightclaw. "These two are Bee and Hornet," he said, gesturing to each of the cats in turn. "They're here to speak to Sunstar about - passage through the territory, I believe?" he finished, turning to look at them both inquisitively.

A voice broke through Hornet's admiration of the camp, and she snapped her gaze back to see a ticked tabby she-cat addressing them. A giddy feeling of excitement was welling up in her chest, and she couldn't help giving another happy wave of her tail. "You're another StormClan cat!" she blurted, then shook her head. "I mean, hi Tallwhisker! Like Quailfang said, I'm Hornet." She gestured to her brother. "And this is my brother Bee." She was glad the first new Clan cat who greeted them looked friendly; Hornet glanced back at her fur to make sure it wasn't too ruffled from the traipse through the forest.
Bee's eyes had widened as a new cat approached, looking similar to the she-cat beside Quailfang. Could they be related? As Hornet gave a greeting, Bee gave what he hoped was a friendly nod. In that moment he was grateful that Hornet had spoken up; he was still a bit overwhelmed at the thought of just how many cats he'd be meeting. Noticing his sister's quick look at her pelt, Bee guessed Hornet was probably worried they looked like they'd been dragged through the foliage. He felt a flash of concern himself; he didn't want to make a bad impression on these cats. He mustered his resolve and turned to the cat he'd heard Tallwhisker call Windstep. "Yes, it's as Quailfang said," he replied, shuffling his paws. "We were traveling through the woods."

Silverstrike
Silverstrike's tail waved gently in amusement as he watched the family. "Why don't I leave you lot to take care of our guests," He chuckled, smiling warmly at them, "While I go speak with Sunstar and perhaps my sister as well." He turned and grinned at Bee and Hornet. "I'll be back soon," He meowed reassuringly, before mischievously eyeing the younger two who approached, "And don't worry, Nightclaw's a bit of a stick in the mud, but Tallwhisker's a lot of fun!" Chuckling, he bounded away, spotting Sunstar across the Camp. "Sunstar!" He chirped, trotting over to him, "I have news for you!"

Hornet called out a quick goodbye to Silverstrike, turning back to the small group around them. Bee turned his head and echoed his sister, watching Silverstrike go with apprehension; despite having just met him and Quailfang, they were the most familiar among the StormClan cats, and seeing one of them bound away made him jittery. Trying to shake it off, he swung around to look at Windstep, Quailfang, Tallwhisker, and the cat Silverstrike had called Nightclaw.

Nightclaw flattened his ears at Silverstrike's words, though he gave the tom a friendly nudge as he walked away. He turned his piercing gaze towards the strangers and eyed them thoughtfully. "As long as they don't cause any trouble and move along quickly, we'll get along fine," he grumbled. He glanced towards his family with concern, but said nothing else. As long as they stay away from my family, more like it. "I'll leave them to you all," he mewed before sulking back to his sunning spot at the edge of the camp. Nightclaw flopped down onto his side and stretched his legs out, but his eyes never left the strangers.
"I'll watch over them," Tallwhisker mewed, blinking warmly at the strangers. "Are you hungry? Let's get you something to eat!" Without waiting for an answer, she began to pad over to the fresh-kill pile, motioning for the cats to follow. She sniffed at the prey before picking up a plump vole. "Here you go." She set the prey down at their paws and nudge it forward. "It should be big enough to share."

Spottedkit purred as her brother came up behind her. She didn't know if she would have won if not for the slip up but she happily soaked in the praise. She opened her mouth to say something in response when she tasted an odd scent in the air. Immediately, her head swung around as she tried to spot where the scent was coming from. Then she spotted the growing group of cats near the entrance. Is that where the weird scent was coming from? The kit poked her brother while not taking her eyes from the other cats. "Hey, have you seen them before?" She asked in a hushed but loud tone, "What do you think is going on?"
---
Owlswoop did even try to hold back his loud, rumbling purr. Honestly, he didn't think most cats much so much trust in him or praised him like Breezebounce did. His heart felt a bit lighter as the other tom nudged him. He missed this closeness between his denmates after leaving the apprentice den. "Yes, of course!" He said with a nod. There was no doubt in this mind that him and Breezebounce were going to make the best team. Honestly, he should have considered a team before. This was going to be much better than becoming the best mentor by himself. His purred quieted when he spoke again, "Wait...are you just trying to warm me up so you don't have to carry the rabbit back? You know I have to carry that bird back. I'm not going to do all the work around here." The shorter tom moved away with his tail in the air. He did look back with a smile, hoping Breezebounce didn't take his small joke seriously. Honestly, he had forgotten about the other warrior's nerves.

Mossfoot nodded and followed after Sunstar, quietly thinking and reflecting for a moment before speaking up again. "Well... great StarClan, Sunstar, Flightstar wasn't a mousebrain!" she mewed half-jokingly. Her gaze softened. "You've always been... well, you live up to your name, is a way to say it. You're..." -she chuckled to herself for a second- "...a shining example of loyalty, and honor, and everything a Clan cat should be. To be honest, I've always admired you." She shuffled her paws, half embarrassed and half proud of her sun joke.

Scorchkit peered over his sister's head, craning his neck to see the new cats arriving in camp. "I dunno," he whispered back (well - "whispered"). "I don't think I've seen them before..." he looked over at his sister. "Should we...go see?" he asked uncertainly. None of the warriors seemed bothered by the strange cats, but if they were strangers...it could be dangerous. ~~ Quailfang's whiskers twitched as Nightclaw stalked away. Windstep just sighed fondly. "He gets this from you," she informed him. Quailfang yelped in outrage. "From me? He's your kit! If anyone, he gets it from our mother." Hawkfeather had been a wonderful cat, as far as the siblings were concerned, but she hadn't exactly been known for her charms.

Brighteyes' ears perked up at the sight of her siblings at the fresh-kill pile. The smell of prey helped motivate her to visit them, as well as the sight of new cats in camp. She was... curious, to say the least. She ambled over to Nightclaw and Tallwhisker. She greeted them with an amiable half-smile and a flick of her tail. 'Good to see you all,' she signed. 'Who are the strangers?' She tilted her head slightly, her big blue eyes peering curiously at the new cats. She didn't want to jump to any conclusions so she kept her gaze neutral and free from judgement.

Windstep butted her head against Brighteyes' shoulder in greeting. Hello, Brighteyes, she signed. She glanced over at the newcomers. The strangers are passing through, she added. They're here to speak to Sunstar about passage.
Quailfang nodded. Silverstrike and I found them not far from camp, actually. His whiskers twitched at the memory. The long-furred one - Hornet - was having a bit of trouble in the undergrowth. They're clearly from quite far away.

Spottedkit shook her head silently. She took one last glance at the strangers, who were now moving closer to the center of camp, before looking at her brother. While she was interested, she was too nervous about approaching two strange cats. Anyways, an elder's story was much more appealing. The older cats could deal with the strangers. "Let's see if Swiftstrike is in the elder's den." She said before moving into the den. Her ears flicked back when she heard Sunstar called for but didn't pause. She really didn't want to stay out with the strangers.
