A delicate black spider slowly moved it's legs over it's fragile web, ready to catch whatever small insect came it's way. It's web, which it had spent hours creating, now stood as a marvel of creation, intricately weaved. Dew, fresh upon the silky strands, gleamed like stars... Ravenswoop padded towards it, from this distance, it looked so small, but the closer he got to it, the bigger it became. What had once looked like a web tucked between two branches, now became a massive creation, it now weaved between two trees. Beneath his paws was not the dusty earth of the mountains Ravenswoop was most used to, but instead soft grass that bounced beneath his paws. The black cat looked down, and saw that the ground was a shade of dark blue, and stars dotted around him. A breeze lifted through his fur, and with it, carried the scents of thousands of fallen cats, and the soft murmurs of the fallen.
Ravenswoop treaded carefully forward towards the only thing he saw, that web... The spider now settled on it's web was not the docile insect he saw before, it was a widow, massive and black as night. The medicine cat steeled his nerves and approached it.The widow scurried away further up it's retreat, it's hairy black legs shaking the silvery thread. A drop of dew slowly slid down from the top, dripping down, down, until it stopped right before it fell to the starry ground below, right in front of Ravenswoop. The black cat stepped closer to it, and gazed into the silvery waters. He saw...
Fire. It blazed across the mountain side home he knew, tearing the Earth up as it swept forward like a tornado, leaving only charred Earth in it's path. It had blazed a trail up the mountain, creeping it's deathly hold into the clan camp. Cats came streaming from the camp, yowling and screaming in a blood curdling cacophony. Some, who were trapped between the flames, tore through and came sprinting from the fire, burning where they stood. Others, too terrified to come intact with the flames, but trapped nonetheless, decided to risk the jump from the mountainside. Ravenswoop's stomach churned with nausea, he tried to wrench his head away, but his paws were glued to the floor, and his eyes refused to look away. Why was he being shown this...
The fire tore it's way into the mountainside camp, he saw faces he knew, they were all running around in a panic with no direction. Finally, the spire of flame crept it's way to the heart of the camp, the giant sycamore tree that was home to the nursery. Horrified, Ravenswoop managed to shut his eyes tight, but he could still see the glow of the fire lighting up the tree in a beacon of light. There came the cries of kittens in the nursery, a loud haunting dirge that rattled the medicine cat to the core... And then...
It vanished. Ravenswoop woke up gasping and struggling in his nest. Around him moss lay shredded into pieces. His heartbeat pounded in his ears, he whipped his head around anticipating flames, but everything was as it should be. Reality crept back to him slowly, his racing heart began to slow, his breath returned to him. It was a dream, nothing more. Ravenswoop pulled himself up form his nest, moss and dried leaves were now tangled in his locks of unkempt fur. Why do you torture me with such visions... He knew StarClan was listening, he knew they were watching... Why...
The medicine cat pulled himself out of the hedges that made up the medicine cats den, and gazed around camp, his eyes settling on the massive sycamore. It was safe... SummitClan was safe. He spotted Spiderstar perched upon the leaders den, watching over her clan. She seemed as troubled as he did...
