[Like I said, Theo's like a puppy. He's just too excited to think about what's going on]
Lexi needed no further warning before she was getting back to work, filling in boring forms so she wasn't tempted to tell Theo he was being maipulated still. She enjoyed maniupation a lot, it was extremely hard not to give the game away.
"Ugh, you're so boring, but fine." Theo responded with a roll of his eyes "I'll solve all of these cases, and I'll put on a tie. And not around my head like I did last week. Around my neck where it's supposed to go. I'll even do stupid door duty."
Val smiled to herself at her desk; for such a smart guy, Theo was so excitable that he was incredibly easily manipulated. He was so thrilled at the hope of getting interesting cases that he had no idea what was happening to him.
Theodore rifled through his desk drawers, eventually pulling out a tie. He slipped it on and tied it, giving a triumphant smile to the captain, something which only heightened Val's amusement.
"You can't defeat me with your terrible, boring cases. I'll see you at the end of the day, Captain, with the paperwork for all of my cases for today." Theo said
It was all Detective Ruiz could do not to facepalm.

[Okay so we could have some amusing scenes of Theo struggling to cope and begging Beth for help XD
Or we could just skip to the end of the day and I can flip a coin on whether or not Theo was successful]

It was a few hours later. Theo had already brought in a few perps, with the cases on his desk already being pretty much solved. But he still had to arrest the rest of the perpetrators and type up the report.
He looked over at Beth, already looking stressed. His hair was going wild with the amount he was running his hands through it in his stress, and he was pretty sure his fingers were already cramping up from the keyboard.
"Beth," he said to his sergeant "I need your help. C'mon, just a few bits of paperwork for me. Please? You're right, I really dropped myself in it this time. If I fail here, I'm never going to work a good case again. He could even tie my to my desk for months or put me in the evidence lockup."
He needed some help, any help. He was buried under paperwork at that moment and he needed someone to take the pressure off. It was stressing him out that the perps were still out there and he wasn't catching them becauxe he still had paperwork from his first cases of the day;.

"I am not sucking up to him," Theo said with a shake of his head "I am not giving up. Even if I don't finish all of the cases I could still do enough to show him that it would be useless to keep me off the good cases."
But it was clear that Beth simply would not help, so he turned his gaze over to Val
"Valerie..." Theo began
"My name's not Valerie, and no, I'm not helping," the woman said as she pulled her jacket on "I have a case to work on. Deal with it yourself, Danton."
Well, that was clearly not going to work. Not that he had expected Val to be sympathetic on any level.
"Lexi-"
"-Nope"
He groaned, but turned back to his work, typing faster than he thought he had ever typed. He had never worked this hard in his entire life, and his only hope was that it would pay off. He didn't have another option.
[I'm gonna flip a coin and see if he is successful]

Tick. Tick. Tick
Still typing furiously, Theo looked over at the clock on the wall. It was about to be the end of the day, and after the paperwork he was working on he still had the paperwork of one case to finish. He wasn't going to make it, he simply wasn't.
On the other hand, he had done everything right. He had investigated the cases, arrested his perps, interviewed them, gotten confessions, everything he could have possibly needed to do. His paperwork was the best paperwork he had ever turned out; it was detailed, neat, carefully done. Just as Captain Ellis would want.
But he watched as the clock ticked away and finally signalled the end of the day. He groaned, leaning back in his chair and putting his head in his hands, leaning his head back.
He had failed, something he was not used to. Sure, he messed around a lot, but he always got the job done in the end and he was an exceptional detective. He did not know what the captain would do now. Would Theo not see another good case for a long time? Would the captain babysit him on his cases? Would he be moved to the evidence room?

Ryan had watched the clock ticking down, he had stayed out of the bullpen for most of the day, not wanting to add any more undue stressed to the already frantic detective. He could see him through the slat blinds, typing furiously, lines of concentration on his face. He was impressed by the dedication he had shown today, and throughout all of it he hadn't removed the tie. 30 seconds... 10... 5.... Time up
He stepped out in to the bullpen, he door closing behind him with a soft thud. His hands were clasped behind his back, almost military fashioned. He said nothing, picking up the first of the several, very neat case files from Danton's desk. He looked through it quickly, pleased with the quality of the work. In fact the more he looked through the more pleased he was, not that it reflected on his features which were as stoic as a statue. "These are the best case files I have ever seen you produce Danton. Why is this quality of work not your standard?" He was unsure how he had intended to handle this situation when he first stepped out of his office, whether to continue to withhold interesting cases or even, to seclude him to the records room for a period of time. "You didn't complete all of the cases." He paused, letting the silence fill the room. "But I would be cruel to punish this level of work. Well done." He said with a small smile, a genuine smile not one of his teasing smirks. "You made a slow crime day fly past. I'm sure the criminals would be more considerate to commit some more interesting crimes tomorrow"

Theo watched the captain leave his office and approach, watching at the man flicked through the case files. He was much more nervous than he thought he would be. He had never thought he would really care that much about what the captain thought about his quality of work, to be honest. But he did.
"Like I said, I hate paperwork," Danton responded with a shrug "but these cases were open-and-shut, sir. Anyone can write good paperwork on an easy case, it's less effort."
But then the captain said he hadn't completed all of the cases and Theo held his breath for a moment. Records room? Boring cases? What was it to be? He was nervous to find out what the captain had planned.
But the captain's next words surprised him so much he let out a relieved chuckle, the genuine smile the captain gave prompting one from the young detective. Everything was going to be okay after all.
"Thank you, Captain. I'll stay behind - it'll be free overtime - to get these last pieces of paperwork done. You deserve something for winning the challenge, after all. I was getting something out of winning, plus I should make up for all of the times I was late. But I'm still taking off the tie."
With a grin he slipped the tie from around his neck, putting it on his desk beside him. He still worked under his own terms as much as possible, even if that day had taught him to follow orders as he had been told.

Name: Cypress ‘Ress’ Lowelle Age: 25 Gender: Female Television Counterpart: Amy Santiago Appearance: A girl with tan features, and hair that is a black color, and eyes that are a dark slate grey. She is short, but tough and incredibly smart. Her hair is short, falling to about her shoulder blades, and her eyes are slanted slightly upward. Her features are sharp, and she is quite muscular for her small size. Personality: Ress is a very sarcastic and passive aggressive person. Meaning she makes a lot of things a joke, and if anyone ever gets her to really open up about it, she’ll tell them it’s how she copes with her job, and it really is. She did join this line of work due to the murders that lain her parents when she was at age 12. Since that time, she became unwilling to stop or break in her goals. Her only remaining family, an elder sibling, watched over her. Not that they needed to for long. As a hard worker, Ress worked through the summer, and through semesters to be able to graduate very early, and finished Highschool at 16, having started her credits in Middleschool. She went straight to college, and while she couldn’t exactly speedthat up, she was done at age 20, and took no breaks with continuing until she got her doctorate at age 24, and went straight to apply for a job. Ress is brutally honest, and joking rude. She’s smart though, and would argue she’s smarter than anyone else. She’s out to prove herself, but she is a big softy. She hates failing, and it’s hard for her to encounter families that lose children, or children who lose family. She prefers to stay away from that direct line of work, and would rather work as a detective, closing herself off. She’s incredibly cruel to those her get on her bad side, and really doesn’t take pity easily. She has always looking up to the director, always hoping to get on their good side and be considered actually helpful. Despite her ambitious ways, Ress is very self critical. She blames herself for many things, and is very anxious. Afraid of just a tiny mistake causing her world to fall apart again, she is very organized. She could be cold, and keeps herself at distance, afraid of closeness hurting her again, and only allows herself to ever talk even partially openly to those who she really trusts, which is mostly just the director. She dedicated, and when she’s locked on a goal, she will never let it go. Screenname: @/lynxleap Other: I hope it looks fine, I had issues thinking up a character that made sense. I didn’t want to make her too smart, but I wanted to really get across that she’s dedicated.

[Hey Chaos! I'm going to add Ress now, she looks great.
Any characters you want her to have particular friendships or anything with as I add her?
I will have all of my charries free soon. and I think we can probably do some plot stuff.
At the minute I'm thinking some kind of threat to the 99 from a criminal source, leading to a long and complex case to provide an overarching plot.. I haven't got much completely set right now, and in terms of other plot stuff we have cases, relationships. All that stuff. If you have any ideas I'm happy to use them]

"Thank you, captain," Theo nodded "and okay, I'll wear a tie. I've been thinking about it today, and I know it's because you want some unity within the team. And I know you focus on me because I deviate from the rest of the team and I don't listen to order from you. Making me part of a team stops me from taking matters into my own hands, endangering me and the rest of the team. You don't focus on Ruiz not because she's scary but because she's a team player already."
Talking of Ruiz, the woman gave a mock salute in farewell when the captain complimented the work of the team that day. It had been a difficult day, and everyone had worked hard. Especially the captain and Theo.
Lexi was also packing her stuff up to leave. She had done more work than usual, though it was still not a lot.
"Don't worry, I won't stay here too long, Captain. I'll be out of here as soon as I am done."
His plan was just to finish the paperwork and get out of there as soon as possible and relax at home before what he knew was going to be a very busy day indeed the next day. Now he had proven himself to the Captain, he knew he couldn't slip up now.

(And yeah I’m fine with that! That could be where Ress’ admiration(in a dad like way, I guess) came from.
By that I mean, she looks up to him, like a roll model. Like she looked up to her own parents.)
