Dove Dance // 21 // Female // Normal // Barista // Personality wise, Dove and her sister are polar opposites. Dove is a firecracker. She's bold, inhibited, and confident. She doesn't care what anyone thinks of her, and she's not afraid to tell you so - and whatever else is on her mind at any given moment. She is independent and capable, and that often makes her chose to do things on her own, even when help is offered and would be useful. She doesn't deny it just for the sake of saying no (well, sometimes she does), but rather because she's too stubborn to change her mind once it's made up. Despite her attitude, Dove does like hanging out with other people - most of the time. With the right group of people, she can be adventurous and fun-loving, cracking jokes and just enjoying the time; with others, she's bossy, sarcastic, and sometimes plain rude. She doesn't like being told what to do or how to do things, and those that try get her attitude in full swing. Dove is fearless and persistent when she sets her mind to something, but this is often taken as her being impulsive and hard-headed. She does have a tendency to not think things all the way through, but most of the time, her intentions are good. Dove can be extremely quarrelsome, occasionally vulgar, and a real witch to deal with, but underneath her hard exterior, she's a brave, loyal person who will go to extreme measures for those in her circle. // Physically, Dove is almost identical to her twin sister, Raven, with two exceptions. She is tall for a girl, with a willowy form not lacking in curves. They aren't as prominent as on other women, but Dove dresses in ways that accentuates every single one to her best advantage. She is leanly muscled and very fit, as she trains daily in kickboxing. She stands at 5 foot 9, and weighs roughly 140 pounds. Her skin is fair and unblemished, but not completely flawless, though most of her small scars and beauty marks are hidden beneath her clothes. Dove's hair is long, thick, and naturally wavy; however, most days she straightens it, though the tips tend to regain a bit of curl after a few hours. Her hair is a pale white-blonde, with a snowy quality thanks to its soft sleekness - Dove takes very good care of her hair. Her eyes are a pale crystalline blue, with hints of darker blue around her pupils. Dove's eyes are almost constantly flashing with her every emotion, but she can master this when she needs to and apply and damn good poker face. It doesn't often take much to crack it, though. // Dove and Raven had a pretty normal childhood, but it didn't last. When they were four, a home raid that resulted in the death of their father and the disappearance of their older brother tore their family apart. The girls and their mother escaped mostly unscathed, but they spent the next ten years living like fugitives, barely making ends meet. Then when the girls were sixteen, their mother died of some incurable sickness. The girls have been on their own ever since, doing what they can to live normal lives, while also secretly looking for their missing brother, whom they still believe is alive despite the years and evidence saying otherwise. // Raven is her twin. // ✧☽ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍᴇʀ ᴀɴᴅ ᴅᴏᴇʀ ☾✧

The mayor had roped off an area in their expansive back yard where the Specials could show off their skills. There would be three rounds: the first, a simple demonstration. The next, a simulated attack. And finally, a fight between the final two. And just outside the arena, he had instructed them to set up a risen stage where he, his family, and his associates could observe the competition. They were about to begin, but the man frowned as he realized they were one candidate short...well, the man had better get there in time, or he would be eliminated.
Rora had taken her seat on the stage, and had a fan to keep herself cool as she studied the competitors who stood before them. She had studied the list of their respective powers, which included flame throwing, enhanced speed, shape shifting, multiplying, and teleportation. She was excited to see the various candidates use these powers, but was even more looking forward to the final fight. That would be exhilarating.

Kassie shook her head with a smile, not even having to turn around to know who had walked through the door. "Hmmm... You're up early," Kassie replied. Almost out of routine, she grabbed a small towel and twirled it like a tornado before grabbing the other end. She smirked as she held it up and pointed it in at Electra. Although she loved having her bestie around, she went through the same thing everytime Electra walked into the shop. "Have I ever told you the phrase my grandpa taught me about counters?" She asked, knowing its about the million time she's told her this. Electra gave her an overly dramatic "I'm thinking" face, before answering, "Counters make the best seating?" She didn't know why, but in her mind, they just did. But she knew that wasn't the answer Kassie was looking for, so she slid off and instead leaned up against it with her elbows propping her up. Waving her lollipop at her friend, she added, "But you didn't answer my question. Any new hires?" She asked, before sticking the sucker back in her mouth.

Kassie shook her head, changing the towel shape again to clean off the rounded glass showing all the flavors of ice cream available. Electra's sarcasm tested Kassie's nerves from time to time, but she was still one of her best friends. She give off a small sigh and shook her head. "Nah, not yet," Kassie said. "I wouldn't even mind of someone was just running register for me while I handled the ice cream." As much as she wanted someone to have the same ability as she, she highly doubted it would happen.

Echo Strike ~ * ~ * ~ As he often was when attending parties, events, or celebrations he didn't want to go to, Echo arrived "fashionably late." Or as close to it as Shade let him, since apparently being actually late would be an automatic disqualification. And wouldn't that just be a pity?
He checked in with the event coordinator, then slipped through the crowd to stand with the other contestants. They all gave him a once-over as he appeared, none of them appearing impressed with what they saw, but he didn't deign to return it. He just turned to face the mayor's stand, his hands in the pockets of his dress pants. The other contestants wore work out clothes, or comfortable ones they were okay getting dirty; Echo wore dark slacks, dress shoes, and a white dress shirt. All he was missing was the jacket and tie. The former he'd given to Shade before checking in, and the later he only wore on special occasions.
As he waited for the competition to start, Echo's gaze drifted lazily over the stage where the most important attendants were seated to watch. He took note of each, but dismissed them all for one reason or another as he moved on - until he spotted one who was oddly familiar. It took him a moment to realize the nicely dressed young woman sitting by the mayor was none other than his "lovely" companion from two nights ago. His eyebrows shot to his hairline, surprised and curious.
Hey, Shade?
A moment later, his friend's voice sounded in his head in response. Yes, Echo?
First rule of being friends with a mind reader: saying their name in your head is the equivalent of shouting it out loud. At least, that was the case with Shade. Who's the prim little princess sitting on the mayor's stage?
The wait was longer that time, as Shade no doubt searched the crowd on the stage first with his eyes, then with his powers, as he sought the answer. When his voice spoke up in Echo's mind, it was tinged with amusement. You mean the prim little princess you "conquered" two nights ago?
Echo had to resist the urge to roll his eyes - it would look weird to those around him who had no idea he was having a silent conversation. Yes, Shade. That princess.
He couldn't hear it, but he got the sense Shade was chuckling. Princess is pretty accurate, actually. That's Aurora Lipton. He paused, no doubt for dramatic suspense. The mayor's daughter.
Echo almost choked, though there was nothing in his mouth for him to choke on. Dude. You're telling me I f ucked the mayor's daughter? Multiple times?
Shade was definitely laughing now, and Echo wondered briefly what the people around him thought of his laughing seemingly at nothing. That's exactly what I'm telling you.
After that, Echo stared at Miss Aurora Lipton for a good long while, taking in her fancy little dress and remembering what she looked like beneath it. Normally he wasn't interested in a woman after bedding her, no matter how good she was, but something about knowing this particular woman's identity was making him reconsider. The challenge she presented as the mayor's daughter was one he wasn't sure he could resist - especially if he actually somehow managed to win this ridiculous competition and had to spend his days guarding her.

Straightening so she could look at her friend, Electra offered, "Well, I'd be happy to man the register until you find someone." The woman didn't have a job outside of being a controller, which was one of the best paying jobs in the city. She considered herself quite lucky to have not only been born a special, but also to have developed a power that was so crucial to the city's functioning, yet all she had to do was work nights either summoning or warding off storms. As a classic night owl who hated monotinous work, it was the perfect fit. No storm was the same, and each one required as much attention and detail as a painting, so Electra liked to consider herself an artist of sorts.

Rora had been busy warding off the unwanted attentions of one of her father's middle aged companions whom she had slept with a few weeks prior, when she saw him. The man from the other night. Who was staring right at her. He was one of the contestants? Interesting. She brazenly stared right back, with a small smirk on her face, as she tried to decide for herself what his power was out of the options she had memorized. She ruled out speed and multiplication, as he had stated that his power was one he could not use in the bedroom, and both of those would be quite useful. So that narrowed it down to either flame throwing, shape shifting or teleportation. Interesting indeed.
Turning her attention away from the man as her father rose to speak into a microphone, Rora kept her gaze upon the mayor, despite feeling her most recent partner's stare. But as her father announced that they were to begin, first showing off their powers one by one, she couldn't help the smug, close lipped smile that graced her face as she clapped with the crowd. Things had just gotten even more intriguing than expected.

"An army..." Zach mumbled, tapping lightly on the table as he processed the information. His eyes scanned Cerise's open profile quickly, noting her age, abilities, confirmed last location, and general details. Sooo... what? We're looking at being the peacekeepers between this organization and the government? Whatever happened to 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'? He reread her profile once, twice, a third time. Nothing seemed to click, yet their first line of action seemed pretty obvious to him - secure the location of a missing person in order to(hopefully) figure out who was behind all of this. If what Ramsey said was true, then the vast majority of the army was innocent. Not to mention the massive amounts of civilian casualties that they would likely endure. "What's the plan?" He asked finally, looking over to Ramsey. A large mission did not seem to be appropriate in this sort of situation. Rather, Zacharias was thinking of one, possibly two small reconnaissance missions. Whatever it may be, having a blown cover could very well mean death when considering the lengths that this unknown organization was going to.
Judah couldn't help but be struck silent--for the first time in his life--at the sight of the hundreds of red dots. With that many specials, presumably brainwashed specials, whoever was behind this could easily cause major destruction and chaos. Hearing one of the younger kids ask about the plan, Judah looked curiously up to the white haired leader. "A spy." Ramsey began. "We are going to find a special who fits the typical pattern of the kidnapped specials, and then have them infiltrate whatever the hell this is. But it's going to have to be someone who is willing to be brainwashed, and then will be rescued at a later point. Because we can't rescue the others until we know where to rescue them from," he explained, before letting out a sigh. "I have made a list of all of our Special allies and members who have powers that fit the profile we are looking for, but if anyone else knows someone who might be willing to help, let me know as soon as possible. It might be better to have two to three options, to increase our chances of a kidnapping.

Since they were going in alphabetical order, Echo was last, which he was totally fine with. Treating this like gym class back in high school, Echo took note of each power and started listing strengths and weaknesses for each. None would be easy to beat as is, but he'd found that when people saw his inner beast, even if they knew he was really a human, they tended to panic, believing they were facing a real animal. The competitive part of him hoped whoever else made it to the final round (he was confident enough in his abilities to make it there, at least) was better trained than that.
When his name was called, he took a deep breath before stepping forward to take center stage. Unlike the others, he didn't immediately begin showing off his power. Instead, he looked right at the mayor and told him, "I can't show you my power."

When Kassie brought up the...incident from a few months ago, Electra winced, before wrinkling her nose and pointing at the cursed soft serve ice cream machine. "Okay that wasn't my fault. That thing is evil and impossible to use. How the hell was I supposed to know it would literally shoot ice cream out if I pulled the lever the wrong way." She couldn't lie, the day had been minorly traumatizing. She had left covered in head to toe in melted soft serve, and had scared a little girl on her way back home. "But waving those thoughts away, the silver haired woman sighed. "But as you wish. I'll just sit around doing nothing while you struggle," she said sarcastically.

Instead, he looked right at the mayor and told him, "I can't show you my power."As they watched the group show off, Rora sat with her legs crossed, and let her upper foot bounce slightly. Thus far, the powers had been...underwhelming. Speed wasn't exactly an unusual power, and teleporation, at least in demonstration, wasn't the most exciting thing to watch. But when it got to the man who could throw flames, she did sit up a little bit. Now that was a power. She especially loved how she could feel the heat all the way from her seat, despite being all the way on stage. Her father seemed to like the woman who could multiple herself--though if his fascination was due to protection or fetish purposes, she wasn't sure. Her father wasn't exactly the most faithful man to her mother, but that wasn't news for anyone. As the final competitor walked out into the field, Rora did not take her eyes off him. She was looking forward to this, as by process of elimination, he would have been the shape shifter. But, hearing his denial of the mayor, Rora raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Well then I suppose you're eliminated," The mayor said flatly. He had no desire to deal with uncooperating competitors. If this Special desired to give up the chance to guard him and get a reward, then that was up to him. Hearing her father's reply, Rora glanced over at him and, though she didn't show it, she couldn't help but be disapointed that she wouldn't get to see her former lover's power. But she also couldn't say she was surprised.

Echo Strike ~ * ~ * ~ Echo held up one finger. "Ah ah," he said, as if the mayor was a misbehaving child. "I didn't say I wouldn't show it off ever." He dropped his hand back to his side and took a deep breath, becoming a bit more serious as he continued. "Shapeshifting can be taxing work, sir." He threw the 'sir' in at Shade's encouragement. "Especially with the bigger beast. Plus, it's not very... polite, to do so in front of a crowd. I shift." He plucked at his shirt. "This doesn't. So if you really want me to strip into my birthday suit and show off, well, me before displaying my power, I will. But I would rather wait until the final round for that drama. You'll see in round two that I don't need a full shift to be dangerous." He didn't usually like showing off that side of him, but when the cause demanded it... He would.

Studying this man closer, the mayor narrowed his eyes and drummed his fingers on the arm of his chair, before letting out a bellowing laugh. “Alright, son. I’m a betting man, so I’m going to take a chance on you. You will advance to the next round, along with the multiplier and the flame thrower.” He hadn’t cared enough to learn their names yet. “Next, we will see who defeats the simulation the fastest. Then, the slowest person will be eliminated. Understand?” He asked, although his commanding voice hunter that he wasn’t truly asking, and if they didn’t understand, then perhaps this wasn’t the place for them.
(Would you rather him fight the flame thrower or the multiplier?)

Kassie couldn't help but to burst out laughing. She had forgotten that she never told Electra the truth of the whole situation. She give a big, but 'don't hate me' smile toward her best friend. "Ummmm... actually I've never used that thing before either. The machine came with this place when I bought it," Kassie said through a wide smile. "Don't you know that I make the ice cream myself?" She asked as she twirled her hand, producing an hand-sized snowflake on her fingertips. Not many knew that with her ability Kassie could make almost anything ice, including popsicles, slushies, and snowcones. All she needed was the flavoring, syrup or whatever ingredient a person needed.

Almost like in the movie crazy stupid love where they are like telling stories of all the women they’ve had sex with and then the older guy finds out that the younger one slept with his daughter XD)
And the simulation is like ten soldiers trying to kidnap the mayor or something idk XD)
