(ok!! We could always have Nadia, Alaska and pax be a little trio of besties (if you want) so they are all dragged into this? Also Alaska doesn’t know she’s a special yet. She’s gonna find that out much later into the RP lol)

; here are my starters! feel free to reply with anyone, guys c: (also, sorry for getting back so late, for some reason the site wasn't letting me log in? but now it should be all good)
; - Jovie
It was another afternoon of closing up shop alone again. It wasn't that she particularly minded the silence as she cleaned the entrance and returned flower pots to the garden behind the store, it had more to do that it was a recurring situation as of late. Normally her mother and her grandmother would stay behind, helping where they could and sharing old stories with her to pass the time, but it seemed that her grandmother hadn't been feeling the same zealous energy as she usually did. Jovie noted that she began to struggle more with the simpler tasks she was used to taking on, such as sweeping fallen twigs and petals off the shop floor, or moving flower pots to the entrance of the shop every morning as they opened. Her mother had began to insist on her staying at home to rest a few days out of the week, to which her grandmother reluctantly agreed to after giving much thought. That was a few weeks ago - now it was rare for her grandmother to come by the shop at all, leaving Jovie and her mother the sole florists there. More than anything Jovie missed having her around to keep the atmosphere lively, but knew it was for the better she start to retire from working so much.
Mama's almost seventy-one, Jovie thought to herself as she hauled a large floral vase back into the shop, careful not to spill dirt onto the freshly swept floors. No matter how careful she tried to be, though, she still noticed a large trail of soil behind her once she set the vase down safely. Looking down at her hands to inspect them, she let out a deep sigh when she realized there was dirt on the front of her overalls and on the floor directly underneath her. The vase must have cracked somewhere. Oh well. I'll have to change it out tomorrow. Retrieving her broom set against the front counter, she hummed quietly to herself as she brushed away the dirt once more, pondering what to make for dinner when she got home.
; - Amoret
The only noises that she had been aware of were the steadiness of her breathing and her brush drifting through the smooth surface of her canvas. It was normal for her to spend much of her time perfecting her art, as was it a small joy she was allowed to develop since childhood. While her parents insisted on piano or violin lessons, seen as the most elegant of instruments to learn, Amoret had always had a penchant for creativity through art. She preferred impressionism in many of her original pieces, but often found herself turning to realism at her parent's request; it was much more beautiful, they told her, to paint and flatter creation over than simply hint at it. The young woman at that time would only agree.
That woman at this time had found herself in a sort of rut, she supposed, becoming increasing frustrated the more she looked over her drying piece. It was modeled after a river at dusk, filled with hues of blue and violet coalescing into gray. Something about the way she painted the river didn't satisfy her, though, which was why she had grabbed her coat and slipped on her loafers to visit the local park, precisely at dusk, with the sole purpose of studying the scene and translate it into a sketch to replace her original one. She was sitting on a bench nearest to the edge of the river, sketchpad in hand, reminding herself to sit up straight as her hand glided expertly over the heavy paper. She was deeply entrenched in her own world, not aware of much else in her surroundings.

It was his grandmother's birthday, and Luka had planned on sending her a bouquet of flowers, but he had to leave on a last second assignment that had lasted until late that night, which was why he found himself knocking on the glass door of a flower shop, despite them being closed. Inside, he could see a woman sweeping. He just prayed she might show mercy on him and let him buy an arrangement of flowers, despite it being after hours. When she looked up, he gave a hopeful wave, and waited for her to respond.

[ I hope so? Not really sure at all right now but basically everyone near the river that flows through the town is evacuating because they're having to open the floodgates of the dam(which is upstream) It doesn't really effect me cause I live on a hill away from the river but yeah I was just over at my grandparents helping them barricade their house. Anyway, no school!!so I'll definitely be able to be more active from now own ]]

; - Jovie / Luka
The knock at the entrance door broke the calm of her cleaning, causing Jovie to flinch in reaction. Startled, she looked back at the door to see a tall young man standing there, giving a wave once he noticed he got her attention. Wearily she eyed him, taking account of the deep blue hair signaling he was a Special, and suddenly felt self-conscious as she clutched the broom in her grasp tightly. Nevertheless she went to open the door to greet him, having to stand a few inches away from him to look up at his face properly.
"May I help you, sir?"
Her voice sounded as tiny as she felt. Clearing her throat, Jovie set her broom to rest onto the wall nearest her, using her now freed hands to brush off any dirt that could have been left on her clothes.

zahara | replying to amoret Zahara loved the river in the park. For as long as she could remember, it had been her happy place. So it was no surprise that the was once again walking quietly along its banks, her hands in her pockets. It was a surprise, however, to find herself stumbling upon a girl with a sketchpad in her hands. Zahara coughed to announce her presence, so as to avoid startling the girl. Startling her would be stressful, and stressful situations tended to be. . . bad, for Zahara. And for any buildings in the vicinity. Of course, she hadn't had an incident since she was younger, still in her classes, but she had come close a few times. Making sure not to scare the girl was the best was for Zahara to keep herself out of any trouble.

Luka could tell he had unnerved the young woman inside the shop--he himself had felt the same way many times. Giving her a small smile as she walked towards him and opened the door, he began, "Uh, hi. Sorry to bother you while you're closing up..." Running a hand through his blue hair, he felt his tongue begin to feel heavy, as it sometimes did in awkward situations. Concentrating on each word in order to avoid his stutter, Luka continued. "It's my grandmother's birthday. I didn't get the chance to get her anything because I had an emergency come up at work, and I didn't want to show up to celebrate empty handed. Is there anyway I could get you to whip me up a bouquet?" He asked, his voice soft, yet deliberate.

(hey ✧☽ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍᴇʀ ᴀɴᴅ ᴅᴏᴇʀ ☾✧ you're new nick name is dad btw bc Dreamer And Doer. anyway dad, here is your next day thing)
As Rora sat on the stage behind her father, she of course maintained her perfect posture, with her ankles crossed over one another as she kept a soft smile on her face. For this event, she had donned a white blouse, with a soft peach colored pencil skirt, and a white blazer. She had even worn a pair of pantyhose--a garmet she despised--to appease her mother. All signs of the party girl from the night before were no where to be seen.
Her father was giving some speech to the crowd, regarding the missing Specials. More and more of them had been going missing in the region, and as mayor, her father had decided to not only invoke a curfew, but also to require that every household that contained a Special to be assigned a body guard. Glancing down at her hand, Rora studied her manicure and let his words fade to the background of her thoughts, as it did. That is, until she heard the words:
"And in order to keep my most prized possession safe--my family, I mean--I will be hosting a competition! The one who proves his or herself most worthy and capable will not only be welcomed into my home as our own personal body guard, but will also be rewarded handsomely for their service!"

; - Amoret / Zahara
A cough, one that didn't belong to her, made Amoret's busy hand come to a abrupt stop. Slowly she turned her head towards the source of the cough, showing not a hint of surprise on her gravely face. "Good afternoon." She took a moment to observe the other woman, eyes lingering on her dyed hair for a brief second more. "Is this your seat?" Her free hand, the right, pointed down to the bench she sat upon, her question polite as she was monotone. She was aware that this young woman was also a Special, and what Amoret wanted least was to upset her. Until she answered, she kept her gaze steady and seemed in no rush to move. After all, she only had a few details left to sketch; surely her Special peer could spare just a few more minutes of waiting.
; - Jovie / Luka
The more he explained his dilemma, the less dubious she saw him; the subject being of his grandmother especially softened her heart. "It's alright. Come in, if you'd like." Jovie stepped aside to beckon him inside, giving him a glance of assurance in case he hesitated. Closing the door behind him once he entered, she directed his attention towards a few wooden tables that held up pre-made flower bouquets, arranged in simple white vases. "These are the ready-made arrangements that are available," She explained as a suggestion, "But I'd be happy to make you a personalized one." She now walked behind the front desk, searching through the nearest shelves of remaining flowers left from the day, ranging from multi-colored tulips to pale hydrangeas.
"Are there any flowers that your grandmother is especially fond of?" Jovie asked the young man, turning her head to glance at him from over her shoulder for a moment before returning her attention to grabbing a few stalks of ivy and statice flowers to began the filler base of the bouquet. "If you'd like some ideas, roses are the most popular focal flowers for a bouquet. Or I could base it off her birth month flower, if that's better."

Dad? How... creative. xD
Echo Strike ~ * ~ * ~ If given the choice, Echo would have chosen to skip this assembly of the mayor's. But as so often happens with matters that occur in the mornings, he didn't have a choice - his best friend was persistent that way.
Shade was a mind reader, and a good one, but even his powers only stretched so far. He was also a scholar, always seeking new information. Generally, he loathed looking for info from others' minds, but in cases such as this - the missing Specials - he was a little more willing to break his own rule. Hence: his attendance at the assembly. Echo understood that, and he respected it. What he didn't understand was -
"Why the hell do I have to go?"
Shade shrugged, a too-innocent look on his face. "Because you're awake, so why not?"
"I'm only awake because you woke me up!"
Shade pressed his lips together to hide a smile. "Ops?"
Echo's only response was a grumble. He was not, and had never been, nor would ever be, a morning person. He was a night owl, sleeping all day and waking just before dinnertime to seek out his next adventure or party or conquest - or all of the above. He would have failed school - all of them - if not for Shade and his skill at getting him out of bed. But it had been years now since Shade had employed such skill, and as they found seats within the assembled crowd, Echo secretly plotted ways to make his friend forget he had any such skill.
He was unsuccessful, for he fell asleep not ten minutes into the talk. He was awoken by Shade's elbow, and jolted upright with a grunt. "I didn't do it," he blurted, looking around. He saw where he was and frowned. "God," he muttered. "And here I was hoping you dragging me out of bed was just a nightmare."
Shade chuckled. "Sorry about your luck, but I thought you should hear this part."
Echo, in the middle of rubbing the sleep from his eyes, shot Shade a glare, but obeyed and turned his attention to the stage. He tuned in in time to hear the Mayor's announcement about a competition. He perked up. "Hey, that sounds like fun. Do you think they'll let us place bets on who wins?"
Shade didn't grace him with an answer.

Just suggestions! I'm willing to throw my character anywhere rn ]]

Luka paused at first, but then followed her inside to the table that boasted several already made bouquets. Studying them, he glanced back up at the shop worker. "If it's not too much trouble, I'd love to have a custom one made for her. Her favorite color is purple. So maybe just a bouquet of purple and white flowers?" He didn't know much about types of flowers, so he figured just picking a color scheme might be the safer option. "Thanks for doing this for me, by the way," he added, still feeling uncomfortable about barging in after-hours.
