The mayor continued, "If you believe you have a power capable of protecting my family and I, register at the table to my left. Each of you will have the opportunity to show me your power, and the one I believe will be most useful will win both the job, and a large salary."
Rora scanned the crowd as she listened to her father's annoucement, gauging how they felt about his supposed competition. She didn't want someone to be watching her 24/7 but she also would enjoy witnessing this display of some of the fiercest powers of the city's specials.

Throughout his years of living on the streets, Zacharias had never been fully affiliated with the rebels. Sure, he was aware of their existence and every once in a while he was persuaded into some... 'tasks', but Zach was always adamant about his slim connection to their activities. Various illegal practices to get by was one thing, but active treason against the government? It felt wrong. Or at least - it had felt wrong. A week ago, Zacharias had been informed that the rebels were putting together a team of individuals for the purpose of investigating the cases of missing Specials. And damn if that didn't ring throughout every fiber in his body, what would? Every time he thought of this mission, he was reminded of his missing sister - and how close more than ever he was to possibly finding her. This case would be the best shot that he would have at thoroughly investigating her disappearance and others. Whatever it takes, I have to get on that team, he thought, making his way to the safe house. At this point, Zacharias didn't mind if getting on the team meant he had to reveal his powers. Ramsey would only be taking the best of the best, right?

Orion Novela // 20 // Male // Normal // None // DJ // Orion never really fit into society, he never tested positive, and not once was he disappointed. He loves music more than anything, and partying is also fun. So instead of ever working for the Government in a pathetic way, he works as a DJ at parties, and sometimes is involved in odd jobs, like saving the neighbors dog or child. Mostly, he’s fun loving, and very generous. He tries to stick to calm, and stay out of conflict as much as possible. // Orion has darker skin, and black hair to go along with it. His height is medium, he’s not overly tall, but he is strong. For the most part, he’s skinny, and always has headphones with him. // Orion had never tested positive as a Special, and is glad he didn’t. He enjoys what he does, and doesn’t have a dark past he’s hiding. He’s rather happy and his world is full of color rather tan despair. // None // @/lynxleap (Felt it was fitting to finally make that normal. So now I can RP. If I add Corona and the other character, it’ll be done later. I just wanted to balance out my special.)

; - Jovie / Luka
Baby's Breath and Petunias, she thought, Those should go well together. The young woman offered a simple nod after hearing his decision, showing no judgement to how inexperienced he sounded when it came to flowers. Many customers were more intrigued by the beauty of flowers, not of their history. Jovie supposed it was her job to know that part. Quickly and quietly she gathered enough flowers needed for the bouquet, trimming the ends as needed and picking off limp leaves of the stems, expertly arranging them together in a checked pattern. "You're very welcome, sir. I'm used to closing up late." She murmured, sending him a polite smile. Her hands were busy with tying a white string around the finished flowers, which she then transferred onto a brown packaging paper to wrap around them, finishing the product with an engraved shop ribbon that she knotted with a flourish.
"Here you are, sir," Jovie carefully exchanged the bouquet with the young man, hesitating before she continued, "That'll be thi-- . . . twenty dollars, please." Seeing how pleased he was with the product, she decided on giving him a slight discount for his trouble. "I hope your grandmother likes them." She added softly, a smile still laced on her lips.

- - - - - Leon Vulpecula Leon was walking, mind numb to her surrounding, as her gaze refused to focus. Why was she even agreeing to do this? To search for specials who were missing. She was one of those, and she didn’t want that to be revealed. People were supposed to roll over, just believe Lyra died, not investigate her being missing.
The annoyance built in her heart, and she clutched the string of her bag. She couldn’t go on and reveal herself now, even if she wanted to. She would most likely be kill, executed if the truth were ever to be revealed. She huffed, that was life alright. It was her choice in the beginning, and as the saying goes, Karma was out to bite her ass.
It was dumb too, she liked the name Leon, but it felt weird to look in the mirror and see someone else, to be looked at as dead. To hide behind her lies. She guessed that made her last name more fitting, Sure it was the name of a astronomical object, like the name Lyra was, but it also meant fox. Foxes were the symbols of sneaky, often of lies. So that was mostly fitting.
She smirked at that thought, heading to the meeting place. She agreed to at least try to be there, and she wasn’t about to lie again. Maybe she could truly convince the others that Lyra was gone, and that there was others to find. Maybe they would focus on the others first, and never even look into who she once was.
Maybe she wasn’t now worth the effort in the first place. But with a scowl on her face, she walked forward.
Because she had to keep lying to stay alive.

(If anyone wants their character in any way related to Lyra, go ahead. It could make unique plots for the mission and such, with Lyra being “dead” and Leon having to deal with a past friend, a father, mother, brother, etc.
Either way I’m good :3.)

Upon hearing footsteps coming from an adjacent passageway, Zacharias froze. His adrenaline spiked for a moment, before he breathed out quietly and slinked back to observe the figure. Normal hair, that was always good. Then again, there could be a multitude of others like himself. She had a younger appearance, and Zach half-expected her to be around his age. Maybe older. Don't forget, you haven't done anything illegal yet, he told himself, and with that reassurance he spoke up. "Come around here often?" He asked as she rounded the corner. It was a rather flippant statement, and the best Zacharias could do was to sound confident.

- - - - - Leon Vulpecula Leon stopped at the building, almost passing it, and turned to enter. Her eyes widened as the voice spoke, she glanced up. She was obviously young, but her ID helped her hide her identity, being 17 was dangerous, so she pretended her age was just a year older, something she could pass for with proper identitification. Something she could create herself, through her manipulation of objects. The owner of the voice looked around her age, a male. If she had to place bets, she would say 18. Supposedly, she was the same age as him. In reality, she was just a year younger. He was still taller than the skinny girl, but then again, she barely reached 5 feet.
It didn’t matter either way, she didn’t recognize him, and that was terrifying. If he was with the government, or a special, and was going to report them, she would be found. Maybe not as Lyra, but maybe so. She would be executed for her treachery. But she calmed herself, his words weren’t accusatory.
Maybe Ramsey invited him?
“I guess you could say that,” She mused, her voice soft, but also with a hint of mystery and boldness. She was dressed extremely modesty, and her hair was a black color, dyed with hints of golden brown. It was a silly little way to remind herself of who she really was, to dye her hair like that. It passed for a normal who didn’t want to fit into society. She could tell he was most likely a normal due to his normal hair.
Her eyes scanned him, she wore black clothing, and a black sling bag. She noted him, his stance, his expression. If she didn’t know better, she would think he was scared of her. But she frowned, “You’re a new face, got the jitters, huh?” She was referencing his nervous behavior, voice calm. She seemed rather relaxed, really.

[ eek, when I delete posts my post count does not wither. (also petition to change the spelling to Ramsay because in my mind they're all heading to a cooking competition)]]
Zacharias' brow furrowed at her words. Her calm demeanor and cool composure as she spoke to him was... unexpected. Nevertheless, her words revealed the likelihood of her being a rebel. With this thought, Zach was able to relax more. Jitters?! In response to her words, Zach made a conscious effort to appear more confident. He cleared his throat before grinning slightly at her question. "I guess you could say that," Zach said, echoing her words back at her. He stepped up beside her and gestured to the door of the building. "After you?"

- - - - - Leon Vulpecula Leon smirked at the taller boy, noting how he shifted at her words. Her training at the academy, while Lyra, helped her read some others like books. She was meant to e a weapon, someone to keep the order, after all.
When he responded, she nodded, finding some humor in him echoing her. Regardless, She understood the feeling, at least. But she decided to try and help. “Don’t be, regardless of how the meeting goes, you got at least someone you now know.” She offered.
She then entered the room, smirking slightly, “What a gentleman, thank you.” She responded, turning her head to watch him. Her eyes stood out still, her hair was naturally black, dyed throughout time, but regardless, it fit rather well with her fiery blue eyes.

[ my little chivalrous child ]
Zacharias entered the building after her, comforted slightly by the fact that he now knew someone going into this meeting. Wait. "Hey, uhh... I'm Zacharias," He fumbled out, holding his hand out as they walked, "But most everybody just calls me Zach." He smiled lightly, locking his blue-green eyes with her fiery blue ones. Questions immediately began to spring up inside of him, but he controlled himself from blurting them out. When did you join the rebels? What even are the rebels? Do you have a better idea of what this meeting is about? Are you wanting to join the team? Is your hair special or not special? Not that normal hair isn't special, just kind of confused by the look.
[ eek this is pretty bad but external stimulus is low right now "-" ]]

- - - - - Leon Vulpecula Leon stopped, listening to his introduction, and nodding. She turned, shaking his outstretched hand, and looking up at him. “My name is Leon, it’s nice to meet you Zach,” she greeted, freezing slightly as they made eye contact.
It was hard to lie or deceive when you looked into the very portals of another’s person. But she found herself continuing to look, for a moment at least. Something about him reminded her of herself, but she noted his confusion with mild amusement. His eyes were a rather pretty blue-green, rather befitting to him.
She slowly looked down, turning slightly, that was weird. Dangerous too, she should have got contacts, but it was a bit late now. She already made her new identity. But she decided to finally ask something, “So why are you here? I’ve never seen you before, it’s just a little odd to see someone new.”

Leon, he mouthed, repeating the name in his mind multiple times so as to not forget it. He had always been awful at names, but something told him he would be remembering this one. Maybe it was the general peculiarity of her essence or of this entire place. Either way, his curious soul had always lead him into situations such as these. He was just hoping that he wouldn't get killed because of it. Her question lead his thoughts back on track, and memories of his sister clouded his brain as he spoke. "Oh, uh, I've done a few tasks for the rebels before. Nothing too big, of course, it's..." his voice trailed off on the word dangerous, but guilt kept him from fully completing his sentence. No matter how true his words may be, he knew that active resistance against the government was the only way to progress. The simple fact that he wasn't as involved as he could be gave him a sense of... cowardliness. "But I'm hoping to actually get picked for this mission," he said, interjecting his own thoughts. "My sister, you see, she disappeared a while back."

Despite the delay, Judah had made it to the rally point early. Taking the stairs two by two, he quickly made his way to the fifth floor, where the meeting was to take place. Pushing open the door, he navigated the hallways until he found the room marked 513, and then slipped inside. Seeing a shadowy figure standing on the opposite side of the room, in front of a second door, Judah approached, and gave the man a wide smile in greeting, before leaning in.
"Aequalitatem Quaeritis," he whispered. Of course, he knew the man who was guarding the second door, but Ramsey insisted that everyone must use the passwords.
As the guard unlocked the door, Judah gave him one last nod before entering the dimly lit room. It was a decent sized space, though primarily empty, other than an old projector that was attached to the ceiling. Spotting Ramsey waiting at the front of the room, Judah gave him a warm smile, which was simply returned by a cool stare.
"Did you get the flashdrive?" The older man asked, cutting straight to the chase.
"Yes. I had a minor run in with a gov guard, but I walked away unscathed," Judah joked, as he slipped the backpack off, and reached inside until his fingers touched the hidden pocket in which he had stashed the flash drive. Pulling it out, he handed it to Ramsey, who immediately took it and plugged it into his computer, eyes glued to the screen as he read what was enclosed.
"Is it what you were looking for?" Judah asked, tempted to glance over Rasmey's shoulder as he waited for him to reply.
"Not as much as I had hoped but it's given me more than we know now," the silver haired man replied grimly, before glancing back up at Judah. "Go ahead and take a seat. The others will be here shortly, and we have a lot of new recruits to train. I'll need your help with that."
"Right, of course. No problem at all," the younger man replied. He always enjoyed meeting the new recruits to the rebellion. Plus, with the disappearing specials, their new mission to discover where they were going was even more important, so they could use all the help they could get.
