Felix’s face twitched, and his breathing was ragged. Yet it softened, his eyes fluttering open, wincing. He was unsure of what exactly happened, he hurt, and his memories hit him like a truck. He was concerned now, Hagan looked angry, and there was no way Felix could fight Hagan. Yet Felix registered then that someone was holding him, well, partly. His eyes scanned Kora, concern building on his features, “Kora?” He questioned, looking back at Hagan, “You need to run,” he instructed, voice soft. His gaze swept to Hagan, tougher, “And you need to think about what she did,” Felix looked pointedly at Hagan’s dead partner, “We all lost our minds, Kora broke free from that, she was stronger than us. I’m her partner, and Hagan, our deal was simple. We would work together, but once one hurt another, the group was done.” He huffed out, eyes narrowed, “ She almost killed me, and Kora did what she needed to to save her partner,” he paused, coughing, though his eyes were still trained on Hagan, “So please just go, and leave Kora and I alone. Regardless of injury, I will fight for Kora, and the chances would not be in your favor.” (Eh? Not happy with it but )

(Redoing this part to make it less dramatic but still realistic...)
Mallory had long since stayed up, the night still reigned, the faces of the dead still fresh in her mind, even if tribute to them has gone by hours before. Her single eye filled with an apathy her heart was starting to fill with. Her tears were gone now, and the damage was done. By the fact that one of the career pack was dead, and that Elias was too, she assumed the worst. Even if not, she broke her word to the dead boy. Her brother was alone. He was smart. She was sure he would understand that she had to take action.
Or maybe she really stopped caring? Regardless, everything was set, the staff had twines of the wire set on it, and trace said her fingers over it, letting off a smile. Maybe if this worked right, maybe if it’s just backfired, at least it would be done. Or maybe she could go home. She could see her mother and father, she could see Kora die if it worked out well. She hated that girl, she killed many of her friends, her own partner. She absolutely hated them both, Kora and Felix. She wanted them both to die. The others, well, that would be an added token. She knew guilt would follow, she was sure it would. But she was angry, at the Capital, at the other tributes.
She stood, her gaze sweeping up before she swung the staff at the glass, listening the the distinct crunch of the glass and violent sound of electricity.

(I looked up some coding for how to make the pictures small and circular like that - you can see what I did if you quote the post - and played around with the pictures, fonts and colours until I was happy with what I had. I’m glad you like them! I’m kind of writing something for Catullus just for fun and to test out that heading. I might post it here or I might not idk, it’s just for testing
Not gonna lie she scares me now)

(Makes joke about her actual marbles rolling away from her.
No honestly I don’t think she’s quite okay anymore. She’s really depressed, and feels bad. And is way too intuitive for her own good.
Mallory: “Wow I lost my allies and my eye, let’s electrify the maze to make it better”
Game makers: ...yeah okay that works.)

It was the 91st Hunger Games, and an eighteen-year-old boy sat in front of a camera talking. He’d spent the last few weeks working on the Games, interviewing tributes his own age and knowing that most of them would never return. And now he was sat, commentating on the events of the Games, discussing every gory moment as it happened.
He was wearing an extravagant outfit with his customary pops of blue colour. The sewing needle Livia had given him shone on his lapel. An ugly scar on his cheek was hardly noticeable thanks to Capitol makeup magic and some admittedly pretty excellent lighting.
Every so often he was back there for a moment, in the Arena. He was sometimes finding it harder to draw himself back into the current moment, but thankfully he hadn’t had flashbacks on camera yet and so Panem didn’t know how he was being affected by commentating on the Games. Not that they’d care at all if they did.
As he was commentating, though, he saw someone in the Games get slashed across the face in exactly the same place where his current scar lay, and suddenly it was like the pain and fear was back again. He was sure it must have flashed in his eyes for a moment. But that turned to rage and anger as he was reminded of the stupid endless cycle in which he resided. The cycle of death and victory, over and over and over again. And no number of Games would be enough for the Capitol, enough to make up for the losses of the war.
“You know what, no. I won’t do this.” Catullus found himself saying “I won’t take part in this, it’s disgusting. All we do is kill and die, it’s the same story told over and over again and it will never be enough. The Capitol is making children suffer, putting them through pageantry and then killing them. I’m ashamed I was ever a part of it, that I contributed to it by killing. Yes, I’m a murderer. I killed people. Children. And yet I’m a celebrity because of it. But, dear viewers, let me assure you that I am punished for my crimes. There are no victors in these games, and the dead are the lucky ones.”
He left the set. He knew that the Capitol will have somehow blocked him out before their viewers saw much, but they still took no chances in their punishment of him. He gained bruises, which faded, and more scars, which were covered up with makeup later on. Nobody knew they weren’t scars from his Games. He was interrogated, threatened, the works. But by far the biggest punishment was the murder of his family. His parents, and his sisters, Lea and Twylla
But the Capitol was not finished with Catullus. They covered up his outburst as best as possible, and made excuses for him. They said the reason for his not continuing to present the Games that year was illness. They continued to give him good publicity, kept the citizens on his side.
And so Catullus was back by the 92nd Games, presenting as if nothing had happened.

(Legit.
If Mallory won the games: “Wow this game maker thing seems kind of cool.”
Game makers: “Your hired.”
Apparently all my characters are the epitomes of being sweet at first glance and then turning out to be little devils.
Except Felix, who genuinely has a good character in my opinion. He’s brute, but he also has a good backstory to him to kind of explain it.)

(I decided to post it. Though it’d be fun to have him echo the words Mallory said before ) (Oh my goodness that’s deep.) (I couldn’t see a young Mallory, at age 7, 8 or 9 watching these games(as citizens must), and could see her taking up that lesson through her life of killing and dying. I have this idea in my head now that one of her family friends, a teen was in the games from District 3 in the 91rst games, so she took that to heart. Perhaps even the kid that got slashed was this friend...? Regardless, said person died, and Mallory kind of grew up antisocial to a degree, never really made lasting friends. Just Er brother and some people she kept close because she loved them. But man, that could make a good backstory.)

(I’ll write up something soon cause I got some muse now. And it’s going to be Mallory just picking up this life lesson. Low key Mallory will just look at the camera once and be like, “All we do is kill and die.” I wonder how Catullus was when Mallory wrote the code for that, and Jensyn said it out loud. Like, ooooof. Someone’s bringing that up. How I envisioned it after that post was that they cut off right after he said ‘it will never be enough’. Poor Anton though, like, they killed his family. I feel really bad for him... .)

(Oooh fun! I look forward to reading it True I never thought of that! I could totally do a mini thing about his reaction to that, potentially. The things that might’ve been going through his head. That’s a good place to cut it off, definitely. It’s kind of where I envisioned it. Ahh yeah I feel bad for him to. I decided to have his family he killed off because I wanted him to lose all of his ties to District 8 apart from Livia)

(Low key. The next games we do I have a genuinely nice character. She’s antisocial(basically) and will probably stalk people, but for the most part she will be a loner. She’s the one I’ve been planning. Though I have a boy I also want to use in the games, who isn’t the same, but isn’t like Felix, Mallory or Kindle either. Holly is very sarcastic, but I think she’s lovable in her attitude, and this other character(who I plan to name Alessandro) will be unique as well, but more friendly probably, more social too.)

(Also, you know what I just thought? Legit, imagine the things that must have been running through Mallory’s head being interviewed by Catullus.
Firstly, she’d probably remember his games the year before, she’d remember how he changed to fit the Capitol. She’d remember his outburst in the 91st Games and how he was the one who gave her that lesson. And she’s a smart girl so I’m sure she’d be under no illusions about what happened to Catullus after that outburst. She probably knows he lost people, she knows some of his scars weren’t from the games. She can see how tired he is under the makeup. What a crazy interview for her)
