Bael gritted his teeth in annoyance. Frankly, he was at a loss for words, because anything he would have said would make him seem like an idiot. His best response to that would be ‘I'm not a kid’, which would make him seem even more like a kid. He just bit his lip, feeling his face burn up in anger.
“I hadn't been planning on causing trouble as long as you guys hadn't decided to tried to bother me” He growled, putting his hands in his pockets, trying not to let himself strangle the other man. Trying to focus on something else so he didn't explode, he moved his eyes to look up at the clouds, noticing they were getting darker. It was going to start raining soon, he could tell.
(I'm probably going to try and make a couple of cop characters tonight.)

(Probably short I’m sorry!)
A young Italian-American girl leaned against a wall near a convenience store on the east side of the city. She wasn’t too far from Brook Street, but she was still firmly in Vulture territory. There we’re gang operations going on not too far away. They already had their lookouts, but Gianna Pyne always liked to stay nearby just in case something went wrong and she was needed. Plus, it allowed her to make sure no Vipers were getting into Vulture territory.
She didn’t have any weapons with her as of that moment, which was a shame because she was best with a gun, but she could handle hand-to-hand combat if it came to it. And if she really needed to she could get her hands on a phone.
She didn’t expect any trouble. There weren’t usually police patrols in this area for another hour or so at least, and the Vipers generally didn’t bother encroaching on the territory of the Vultures. But still, she thought it better to hang around. Things had happened before.
Gia checked her watch. Her colleagues should be where they needed to be now, which meant if something was going to go wrong she would be notified nice and quickly. Her focus now was keeping her eye out for any Vipers, especially any members of the Fellng family. She knew where Luka Felling was, but she didn’t know where Jasmine or Shep were. They could be lurking around at that very moment. She had to be prepared.

This kid is lucky I love him. Nico thought, cursing up the ten year old who had managed to convince the Viper member to walk into Vulture territory, just to get soup from his absolutely favorite convinience store. Nico had no idea what the difference was, really, but Jordie had always been a picky kid and that meant if he wanted something he wanted it.
Sure, that was a pretty spoiled outlook on life, especially when the two were barely making ends meet but Nico did his absolute best to shield the little boy from any kind of hardship or horrors of the street. He even walked the kid from school and back, actively avoiding areas he knew were crawling with gang members of any kind, so when the poor kid woke up hacking out his lungs and sneezing up a storm he couldn't help but bend to the kiddos wishes.
Which was why he was sneaking into the convenience store, hoody pulled up in attempts to deflect any suspicion, wondering how Jordie had ended up here in the first place. The kid knew for a fact that he wasn't allowed over here, and now he was starting to wonder if one of the few playdates Jordie had been on was from around here. He glanced around, hoping that the Vulture woman nearby hadn't paid him any notice, heart pounding a little as he walked over to the little soup display quickly and glanced over the labels slowly.
It took him a few minutes to read through each of the labels, before finally finding the one the boy wanted, which was the cheesy ham chowder. Finally he saw it and grabbed it, nibbling on chapped lips before heading off to get some saltine crackers, knowing that it would help settle his baby brothers upset stomach. But thats it... you haven't gotten any money this week. This soup will have to last for a couple days. He told himself sternly, looking at the container, knowing that Jordie was a growing kiddo and Nico would have to ration it out himself or the kid would eat this all in one sitting.

(Probably short, I’m on mobile. Sorry!)
But Gianna had noticed him instantly.
She clocked the figure as he passed, though she couldn’t be sure of who it was because of the hood. But she had a bad feeling about it. He was holding himself like he didn’t belong, he seemed suspicious. And then she caught a hint of dark hair beneath the hood. That, the height, and the unusual behaviour of this boy told Gia she needed to be sure. She had to check.
So she waited until a few seconds after he had entered and then followed him inside. She pretended to be browsing the aisles for herself, trying as much as possible to stay out of the male’s sight while she followed him. She needed to find out what he was doing.
It was when he stopped at a display that she made her move, approaching him and grabbing his shoulder to force him to turn towards her before she pulled his hood back. It was as she suspected. A Viper.
“Santiago,” Gia said with a slight sigh “I might have known one of you lot would be showing up.”
But then her gaze travelled to the soup in Nico’s hand.
“Soup?” she said incredulously “you came into Vulture territory... for soup? You do know they have soup on your side of the city, right? Unless there’s a shortage I don’t know about.”
She was highly confused to say the least. Why on Earth was Nico Santiago in Vulture territory, and why had he come there to buy soup, of all things? Was he a distraction? To draw her into the shop while more Vipers invaded the Vulture territory? Had she been tricked?
She needed explanations, and fast.

If it hadn't been for the damn soup in his hands he would have struck out at whoever had touched him. His body had stiffened immediately as a small hand rested on his shoulder and whirled him around. He let out a soft barrage of curses as he tightened his grip on the stupid soup, it was the only container of this one, scowling angrily as his eyes landed on Gianna Pyne.
Of course he was going to be caught by a Vulture. He knew that it would happen eventually, they were surprisingly efficient on patrolling this area, and every time he'd tried a new path to get deeper into the territory he was almost always caught. Luckily the worst he'd come out with was a gunshot to the side but honestly Nico was fairly impressed at how quickly this gang spotted outsiders.
Not that the Vipers weren't as good, Nico just liked to think that his own affiliation was better at most than this group.
Either way, h was sitting and staring at the woman, scowling lightly, ready for a fight and halfway considering just to throw the soup in the womans face. If there was more of the chowder he would have, too, without a second thought. But right now this was the only soup his brother would eat currently and he wasn't going to risk the kid going to bed hungry and sick.
He grinned wickedly at the question, offering a small shrug, because there wasn't anyway he was about to give the real reason as to why he was here. "It's the best soup in town. " He responded simply as he fiddled with the soup packet absently, trying not to look as tense as he felt, swallowing slowly as he glanced back at her boredly. "Nowhere else sells it. " He continued to speak as if he didn't have a care in the world, actively pretending that he wasn't Vulture territory.

Gar Relph “Garph” Devilo -- 24 -- Male ~ None, people just call him by his nickname, Garph -- Police / Viper ~ Standing at 6'2”, Garph is a rather big and stocky man. His face is fitted with a strong jaw and his strawberry blonde hair is in a buzz cut, or else it would grow out to be curly. His eyes are storm grey and his skin is tanned with a slight reddish tint. When he's not in his police uniform, he's usually wearing sleeveless shirts and tight pants. ~ Behind the tough front he has to use as a cop, he's a rather laid back dude that likes to take it easy. When he's bored, he likes to spend his time poking fun and teasing people, which tends to get physical. He has no sense of boundaries and personal space, so he's constantly looking into the stuff of others, or physically touching others. This can include him occasionally wrestling people to the ground if he's bored. On top of it all, he's constantly trying to get approval from his family and tends to hold them in high regard. ~ At the age of 7, Garph's mother divorced his father after many years of arguing and she found out he had an affair. He spent the rest of his childhood growing up with his mother, but he still got to see his dad over the weekends. Despite the change in his life, he managed to adapt and became an excellent student. When he got to high school, he decided that he wanted to be a cop, so once he graduated, hd started his police training. Around halfway through, he was contacted by the Viper gang because of his blood ties to the Felling family. Not wanting to disappoint his relatives, he became a member of the Vipers. ~ Nariku The Avaricious ~ Garph's mother was a Felling, so he is related to the family. ~
Joseph Hensell -- 42 -- Male ~ Mr. Policeman -- Police ~ Standing at around 6'6”, Joseph is a large and burly looking man. His messy brown hair reaches down to his chin and he has sideburns that end at his jaw. His eyes are hazel colored and have a little bit of wrinkles under them. His skin is lightly tanned. When he isn't in his uniform, he wears rather modest clothing and some plaid. ~ Despite being an intimidating looking man, he is a very warm and loving person. He loves helping people and often takes time out of his own day to do so. If someone is feeling bad, he's willing to listen to their problems. The only time he exhibits a cold and uncaring attitude is when he's dealing with criminals. ~ Growing up in poverty, Joseph was reminded time and time again that bad things can happen to good people. It took him many years, but he managed to make enough money to apply for police training. His time in poverty nailed into his mind his disdain for criminals and the desire to help people. He's been a police officer for many years and has shown no sign of slowing down. ~ Nariku The Avaricious ~ Other ~

“I don’t care if it’s magical freaking soup,” Gia scoffed “you can’t just walk into our territory.”
She knew he was lying, too, but she couldn’t tell what the truth was. Why was he here? She just had to know. What on Earth could be driving a Viper into Vukture territory to buy soup?
“Why are you really here?” Gia asked suspiciously “Are there more Vipers around here?”
She wanted answers and she wanted them fast. She didn’t trust this situation and she wasn’t at all happy that there was a Viper in Vulture territory. Not only that, but he didn’t seem to care that much. The only thing that gave away any nerves was the swallow. But other than that, he seemed to be completely nonchalant about the whole encounter. Gianna did not like this at all.
“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t tell the other Vultures that you’re here. I could have people here in seconds.” the woman said, narrowing her eyes
This was true. There was bound to be someone lingering nearby and even if there wasn’t, she knew there were Vultures only a few streets away. She could have plenty of her associates here very quickly.
She had no idea quite why she hadn’t just started fighting him. The whole scenario had just been so weird, though, and it didn’t feel right. She didn’t feel comfortable with it and she was very confused. And also because she didn’t think it would be a good idea to start anything inside the store. They’d have to go outside if they were going to have an actual fight. And she thought Nico would refuse to fight anyway. Neither of them really seemed to want to fight anyway. Gia just wanted him out of Vulture territory so she could relax a bit.

“But I’m guessing now you are?” Luka asked in response to Bael’s words
He needed to figure out this kid. He didn’t seem like the type of person one wanted on their bad side, and he certainly seemed like someone the gangs needed on their good sides. He needed to find out exactly where he stood
It was at that moment that the rain started to pour. Luka was aware that he was very soon going to be soaked through if he stayed out here much longer. And they still needed to talk.
“Listen,” he sighed “if you want to continue this conversation we’re going to have to head inside.”
He wasn’t happy at the idea of having to go into this guy’s house, and he knew Bael wouldn’t be exactly stoked about the idea either, but it wasn’t like they had a choice in the matter. They were just going to have to get out of the rain.
Besides, there would be police patrols in the area before long, and he knew Hensell was just waiting for the right evidence against Luka. The officer had a close eye on the Felling siblings (and their cousin Garph) and Luka wasn’t going to be the one to get caught. If one of the Fellings went down, it was inevitable that the rest would as well. And the Pynes were in exactly the same situation.
It would only take one slip-up, and Luka preferred to stay as far away from Joseph Hensell as possible just in case. The poor man still had no idea how own daughter was a Vulture. That was a little fact Luka planned on letting out if ever Hensell seemed about to arrest one of the Fellings. Hopefully it would be enough to distract him for a little while so they could get out of the situation.

“That's not what I meant” Bael grumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose as he gritted his teeth. This man seemed to have a knack for finding things wrong with everything he said. “Give me a break” he muttered under his breath.
The world didn't give him a break. Instead, the clouds opened up and just started raining down on them. His face shifted to one of pure annoyance as he could feel the rainwater mixing with his hair gel. The slime that was created started dripping down his face and neck, making his hair fall out of its shape.
Bael didn't want to invite this man into his house, but at the moment, he just wanted to get inside before his skin was covered in the slimy mix of gel and rain. “Fine” he grunted, turning around. He grabbed the door and flung it open before ducking inside. “Just don't touch anything” he stated as he ran his fingers through his hair in a futile attempt to save it. Very little of his hair was still standing up as the rest had fallen over his brow. He let out an exasperated sigh.
Despite the fact that there was quite a decent amount of holes in the wall and floor, the place was rather clean, like someone had recently dusted and washed the place recently. The only noticeable speck of filth there was happened to be a few rat droppings in the corner. The place had very little furniture and the stuff he had seemed to have been rather old.

(Lmao I know he just likes ignoring his problems and pretending that nothings wrong with the situation.)
Nico grimaced a little at the snap back- he was well aware that this was risking a lot and walking into the territory for something like soup.
It was a ridiculous concept, the Peruvian knew that, and if the roles had been reversed he would be more than wary of this situation.
"I'm serious. I'm here to buy soup. I even have the money for it." Nico insisted, now looking just a little indignant, features squinting up in irritation as he lifted up a few crumpled ones from his well-worn jeans. "No other Vipers are here. They don't even know I'm here." He responded as he quickly stuffed the ones back in his pocket. "It's... a favor for a friend who's sick, okay? He just wanted the damn soup." He grumbled, scowling lightly, because Jordie was lucky he loved him this much.
Nico let out a small groan when he was asked to give Giana one good reason to let him go, to not call the Vultures, knowing he really might have to book it this time. "Look, its' just me running some soup to someone. Trust me when I say I don't want to be here more than any other Viper would. " He responded, letting out an irrupted sigh, folding his arms against his chest as he scowled at her, slowly scooting towards the main entrance where he could pay for his food and go.
"How many times have I actually gone into your territory, Gianna? I don't want that kind of death wish." He scoffed, leaning onto a counterspace with his hip, arching an unamused brow.

“Alright, fine. Genuinely buying soup, I believe you.” Gianna nodded.
But as she watched him fish the crumpled money out of his pocket, and heard him talk about the person needing the soup being sick, she thought she knew the situation.
“You have a little brother, right? This for him?” Gia asked, nodding towards the soup
She hadn’t spoken to the kid ever, really, but she was aware of him. Seemed like a good kid, one that the Vultures would probably not harm if it came to it. Or Gianna wouldn’t, at least. They all drew lines at certain things.
She paused for a moment as she thought about what she was about to do - everything was telling her she shouldn’t do it - but she couldn’t stop herself. The woman could see how much Nico cared about his little brother. And Gianna wished she had grown up with someone who cared about her that much. She was clearly abused before she got adopted, not that she remembered any of it. Life obviously got better when she got adopted, but she’d still grown up on Brook Street and she was still in a gang.
She pulled out some money of her own, all she was carrying at the moment but enough for whatever Nico needed, and offered it to him.
“Take it. Buy the kid whatever he needs; more food, some medicine. More cans of soup so you don’t have to come out here to get it all the time. But, uh, if you tell the others I gave you this money, I’d probably have to kill you. So, just a heads up.” she said
Okay, so she shouldn’t be doing this. But she could see how much Nico was risking for his brother (or whoever it was if it wasn’t Jordie) and she wanted to help. She didn’t care what the gang was going to say about it. She had done the right thing here.
