ginkoleaf Ginkoleaf would probably one of the last to even think of betraying the clan or conducting anything secret and sinister - the ginger tom was a goody-two-shoes if there ever was one. In fact, the thought of accidentally breaking a rule sent him into a spiral of anxiety, moreso about what others would think of him than the actual consequences. At Alderdapple's comment he lightened up a little bit and gave a somewhat forced - but more relaxed - laugh. "You always sleep for moons." Well maybe not that long, but Ginkoleaf personally just woke up earlier than was average for most, unless he accidentally "overslept" and woke at a normal time. At the mention of Saffronstep he crinkled his face very slightly. His convictions that elders should be respected and her horrible attitude often conflicted with each other. "Yeah, she's... She's something." And by something, he meant terrifying.

pansyfall
When the reached the meadows, Pansyfall took in the scent of flowers. She found it relaxing, when the pollen wasn’t too strong and made her sneeze. She stood as Rosestar did, until the she-cat broke the silence. “Sure,” she said, nodding, and lifted her muzzle, ignoring the flower scent for prey. The creatures would be awake now, and still sleepy, so it should be relatively easy.

@ Sparkly [ bloomkit & mossypaw ] "Bigger than me? You're pulling my tail!" His fur bristled. He was still small, but getting almost too big for the nursery. There's only a couple of moons until he's announced an apprentice, after all! He fantasized about the mole, wondering how it tastes. He wonders how it tastes? He's betting to himself that he could catch one twice as big as himself right now. That might be a little ridiculous, but... Hey, he could do it! He mused on, and figured a follow-up question should come after asking about prey. What about predators? "Well... Have you ever seen a bear?" Magnoliasky told him a lot about bears. "I hear there's one in the forest! It's gotta be getting ready for it's nap. I heard it's really hungry! It better not be stealing all our prey."

Meadowpelt softly smiles as she observes Nectarkit roll around the Nursery. Her eyes follow the kit's every move as she chases an invisible 'prey' around, tumbling over nests and her own mother. Nectarkit may have bumped Magnoliasky a few times but she would apologize and back off, so Meadowpelt found no harm in her playfulness. Her gaze drifts to the outside and she wonders what Zinniapaw and Mossypaw are up to. Oh, how she remembers when they too were as small as their younger sister. She closes her eyes and smiles once more before turning her gaze back to Nectarkit, who was now pawing at her mothers tail as is swayed back and forth.

[mintgaze & nettlepaw]
N e t t l e p a w C a m p || M i n t g a z e He gave a good laugh at Mintgaze's quip, "Huh you're quite right about that," Nettlepaw shook his head with amusement, thinking of the old black she-cat. As the medicine cat began listing off the things to do that day Nettlepaw felt himself drowning in responsibility. "Oh great," he thought, "I definitely won't be getting to sit down any time soon". He took in a deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment to ground himself before opening his eyes and giving a brisk nod, "Would you like to head out now?" he tilted his head keeping his gaze on his mentor, "Or should we check up on Saffronstep first?" "We can drop these off at the elder's den really quickly. After that, though, we should head out. I'm hoping that collecting everything won't take too long." There was a loooong stretch, and he got to his paws. "Hopefully everything is growing well, too. With leaf-bare coming up, and all... " His voice was a little muffled around the leaves he'd grabbed, but still clear enough to make out.

[bloompaw & zinniapaw]
Zinniapaw stumbles abit out of suprise and drops their meal. They almost trip over themself, however catch they regain their balance. "Oh. Hello!" they half whisper in a somehwat cheery tone. "Yes well, I could say the same thing to you," they move the mouse further into the den with themself and take a seat near Bloompaw "I was just hungry and I supposed it wouldn't be kind to the others nor myself I f I left my stomach to rumble."
Bloompaw was sort of amused by that, actually. She hadn't meant to startle them or anything. "I guess that's fair," she gave an amused purr. "Has the morning patrol left yet? If it's not too late, I was thinking maybe I'd see if I can join them." Yes, she just woke up and hadn't eaten anything yet, but that wouldn't stop her from going out, anyway.

They think for a moment "No, I haven't seen them, so I wouldn't know." they sigh "However, I can go look with you if you want?" they take a small bite from the mouse before speaking up again "If you're hungry you can have some of the mouse too." Zinniapaw didn't think it was a good idea to let Bloompaw go out on a patrol hungry. They curl their tail around them as they munch on a small bite of mouse awaiting a reponse

[brunneamist, irispaw, & bloompaw]
[ brunneamist, irispaw, & bloompaw ] Brunneamist shook his head. "Actually, Bloompaw -- I think Irispaw should try it herself, first. Partner fighting is different, and she wouldn't be able to practice her one-on-one combat skills to her full potential if we don't allow her an opportunity to try." As much as he disliked Irispaw's arrogant attitude, she was still his apprentice. And without his help, she wouldn't be a very valiant warrior.
"Oh. Then go ahead, I guess, Irispaw." "ALRIGHT, NICE!" Bloompaw stepped off to the sidelines again, and the ever-energetic Irispaw took her place on the 'battlefield.' "I'm gonna be awesome, just watch!" And just like that, she leaps into action. It's a sort of mix between her and Bloompaw's strategy, albeit significantly clumsier than the way Bloompaw pulled it off. Staring down at Brunneamist's paws as if she's planning to knock them out from under him, a few changes of direction as a fake-out, and-- she pounces! She's bigger and stronger than Bloompaw, and she uses that to her advantage to try and take him down. Even though she's not quite as agile, she's got the advantage of brute strength. (Bloompaw actively hates her for it.)

@ storm [ willowpaw & yarrowmoon ] "Get into this mess? You make it sound like it's my fault..." Her tone was joking, but there was traces in her voice that implied that she was genuinely hurt at Yarrowmoon's 'unfair' assumption. Well, now that she was being given her rightful medical attention, she sat down with her front paw raised, as to not put any pressure on it. She considered being truthful, and simply admitting that she misstepped the slightest, but she figured the alternative would land her some points, so that's what she went with. Lying through her teeth.
"I was sitting outside camp, waiting for Daisyheart to come back, when my aching stomach combined with my sensitive nose." She spoke with exaggeration, since she was telling a story, after all. "A mouse!" She slammed her paw onto the ground, before recalling, once again, that there was a thorn in it. She let out a tiny yip, but figured she should continue her story, anyway, beginning to speak again with slightly gritted teeth. "So, um, anyways, I dropped into a low crouch, but I guess it could smell me... And it ran into the rose bushes! But I was quick, I figured, so I sprinted after it -- Only to find my paws empty, with nothing but a thorn."
YARROWMOON LISTENED INTENTLY sure, they knew that the youngling was EXAGGERATING just a bit - as all children tend to do - but they wouldn't interrupt the story . they had to admit that willowpaw was a tad bit BETTER at storytelling than most of the others .
THEIR TAIL TWITCHED with the faintest anxiety at the sound of her cry - an instinct, as a medicine cat, to protect all those who were hurt . head bowed, they nosed at the paw in question . a painful injury, one they themselves had suffered through many a time . at least, they supposed, it was one that was fairly easy to resolve .
" may i take a look ? "

@ altaid [ alderdapple & ginkoleaf ] "Remember that one time I accidentally stepped on a flower as an apprentice and I had to do chores for her for two moons?" He shudders. Just thinking about it brings him chills. Something was absolutely an understatement. "I'd never wish death on any cat! But Saffronstep...." He lowered his voice to a whisper, realizing they were still talking the middle of camp. "She's a little different than most cats." She's awful. And terrifying. And made him smell like mouse bile for two months. Well, time to actually ask what he wanted to. "Anyway. What were you planning on doing, today? Other than chasing rabbits!" He was wondering if he wanted to go on a patrol, perhaps.

@ ✨ nissabug ✨ [ rosestar & pansyfall ] She didn't figure how awkward the silence would be. She figured that it might be better to have just gone by herself, but convinced herself otherwise very quickly, since solo hunting patrols ended up very lonely. She needed someone else there to keep her sane, quite honestly. She focused her nose on the smell of prey. She could tell there was probably at least a rabbit near here, and definitely a few mice. She lowered herself into a hunting crouch, now more alert than before. She couldn't see much through all the tall grass, so she tried to rely on her other senses. With careful steps, she went searching for some mice, following their scent.

@ ang ♡ [ brunneamist, irispaw, & bloompaw ] He felt bad, almost, having turned down Bloompaw's proposition. But the moment Irispaw stepped back into the fray of things, it all faded away. He was only taking defensive positions -- after all, he didn't want to accidentally hurt either of them. Although Irispaw's strategy was clumsy, at least there was strategy.
And it was a pretty decent one. He found himself on the ground for more than he thought. Most of it was due to the fact that Irispaw was pretty strong. Either that, or incredibly heavy. 4 seconds, not quite yet 5 seconds, and he had squirmed out from under her. He nodded in approval. "...Would you like to try it together, then?"

@ storm [ willowpaw & yarrowmoon ] Well, obviously, she couldn't oppose that. She found it strange that it was even phrased like that. "Go ahead." She held her paw pad out, allowing it to be clearly in view. It was obviously embedded in pretty deep. She wouldn't be surprised if the thorn acted like a dam in her paw, blood gushing out the second it was removed. She was anticipating it be pretty painful. And that wasn't by accident, either, really. Willowpaw had decided that a bad injury might give her some attention from her peers... Especially a certain calico. Her ears twitched in amusement. "Is it bad, do you think?" Please say yes.

"If everybody died, then how would you have been born?" Mossypaw asked. "Besides, you shouldn't be so excited about your Clanmates dying, even if you weren't alive at the time." She really did need to ask somebody to talk to Magnoliasky. Perhaps she could ask Meadowpelt to talk to her on her behalf. Magnoliasky would definitely trust another queen over an apprentice.

Nectarkit hovers around her mother's side til she becomes bored of playing the same repeated games over again. Instead, she decides she wants to see Mossypaw and Zinniapaw "Oh! Meadowpelt can I go outside?" she eagerly paws at Meadowpelts front left paw and watches as the she-cat nods to her daughter. The she-kit hastily makes her way out of the nursery and into the light. Nectarkit's eyes a adjust fairly quickly to the sunlight as she looks around before spotting Bloomkit and Mossypaw. She bounds over to the two "Hi!" she exclaims. Nectarkit doesn't tend to leave the Nursery a lot, so when she does she likes to go and see her older siblings. She will hunt down Zinniapaw later.

NEctarkit absolutely adores her older siblings. S o r r e l s h a d e S y c a m o r e || Z i n n i a p a w She nodded at Zinniapaw with a pleased expression, "Good!" she exclaimed, "It's really a lot about intuition, knowing how long you can stay on and do the most damage while still assuring you don't land yourself in a vulnerable position if they decide to roll and next thing you know they have you on your back," she told them. "Alright we can work more on that later, I want to be able to get through this defense move before the sun goes down so we can get back to camp." Sorrelshade lowered herself down a bit so that the apprentice could get down from her back then positioned herself in front of them again. The next move was quite simple, but it did require a cat to be very agile, and it was a good move for apprentices who were smaller and are more easily able to dodge big paws. "So the duck and twist is exactly what you think it is. Say you're in close proximity of your opponent, you're face-to-face and slashing claws back and fourth. You see them gearing in for a big, powerful move, that is when you want to duck from their attack, twist your body around and role onto your back, then spring right back to your paws before they have even the slightest chance of tackling you while you're down there," she hoped she was explaining it well enough. "Got it?" Sorrelshade asked. C l o v e r p a w P o n d || L u p i n e w h i s k e r Cloverpaw nodded along to his mentor's instructions and let himself take a deep breath, relaxing his muscles in his face and body and allowing his claws to unsheathe and dig into the wet earth bellow. He focused on his senses; the dirt curling up in his claws and making his paw-pads moist, the smell of the fishy waters and the trees, the mellow winds that shook his fur. "Okay, pay attention. Make Lupinewhisker proud," he thought to himself while he stared down at the waters. He put one paw in front of the other in position to strike when the time came, which was perfect timing as his paw hit the ground he saw the flash of blue scales floating near the surface of the pond. So unaware of the apprentice's presence, Cloverpaw felt a surge of confidence that he could swoop down like a hawk and pluck the fish from the waters. "This is it! Go for it!" he told himself as he lunged forward with his body and his paw, thrusting his claws in and making a swiping motion at the blue scales - but the tom had miscalculated the distance of the fish, not realizing how the waters distorted location sometimes, and the fish quickly dove deeper down. "Mouse-dung!" He exclaimed, desperation and sadness streaked across his face. N e t t l e p a w C a m p || M i n t g a z e He gave a blank look while he nodded, just hoping to StarClan and their ancestors that they could get on their way soon. As much as he dreaded the chores, at least it would mean getting out of camp. "I hope Yarrowmoon gets themselves an apprentice soon," he thought sourly, his eyes rolling up for a moment before following along behind Mintgaze towards the elder's den. He thought about what Mintgaze had said about leaf-bare being quickly on its way and realized the importance of their trip today, and with that he felt just a bit more determined to slap some herbs in front of Saffronstep and be on their way.

They nod a little unsure of themself. Zinniapaw thought over the steps again, practicing them in their head. While agile, they weren't the best with this. Their short legs lead them to be clumsy from time to time. As Zinniapaw prepares to act out the move they crouch low in a dodging and ducking motion, however, when going for the roll they trip over themself, making their roll clumsy and awkward instead of something nice and smooth. They could only guess that an enemy would've caught them in the short and highly ungraceful moment.
"That was wonderful Cloverpaw! You may not have caught the fish itself but I could really see you relax and focus on the idea of prey. You had a good patient timing, however, your distancing was off. But that's okay." Lupinewhisker reassures her apprentice. She is proud he was able to relax and take his time with the hunt, even if he'd caught nothing. "The water is somewhat confusing. It will make you think something might be closer than it truly is. Learning how to counter that takes time. If you'd like I could demonstrate? It may give you an idea of how and where the fish really needs to be versus where it seems to be." She'd like to catch a fish on this first try. Even as a fully trained warrior her eyes and the water will occasionally trick her. She wants to let Clvoerpaw know that too. "Hey, and I also sometime will miss a fish or two."

"Yes, bears are a lot bigger than cats, and so much bigger than you two," Mossypaw explained. "They also have very sharp claws and fangs, and are very dangerous overall. So, it's a lot safer to just stay away," she warned. "When you two become apprentices, your mentors will explain more, and help you stay away from danger. But for now, it's safest to just stay in camp."

pansyfall
Pansyfall soon caught the strong scent of a mouse, as well as the rustling of a few flower stalks. She turned in that direction and dropped into her crouch, waiting on the mouse to leave the group of tall plants and move to the short ones.
The rustling grew closer as the mouse moved slowly, and Pansyfall kept as low to the ground as possible, not moving a muscle. Her eyes focused intently on the parting flowers. When the mouse broke through, Pansyfall hopped with paws stretched and landed on the mouse before it could process what was going on. She buried it quickly, then glanced around as the scent of mice started to grow. Hopefully they were all as sleepy as this one.

The she-kit gives a look in a slight worry an fear of the way Mossypaw explained the bears. "Will there ever be another one in camp?" she fearfully questioned. Nectarkit is easily scared by stories or suprised by others when she doesn't know they're present. So the sotry of a huge bear makes her feel highly unerved even if she understnads it's gone by now.
