Zinniapaw
They finish off the rest of their shrew before continuing "Sure thing! That sounds great and like a lot of fun. Are we going to bring any other apprentices for me to practice with?" It would be a lie to say Zinniapaw hadn't shot up and out of a sitting position once they were ready to go. You can't blame them, they enjoy training quite a lot.
.........
Lupinewhisker
she sighs "Cloverpaw, I do advise you eat, I do not wish for you to get sick or pass out while we are practicing your hunting skill. However, if you do feel fine then I suppose we can head out towards the pond for some fishing." Fishing was one of Lupinewhiskers better areas in hunting expertise and she would enjoy teaching her apprentice to be a great fisher too.

@ ang ♡ [ brunneamist, irispaw, & bloompaw ] Yeah, it's needless to say that Brunneamist wasn't having it. He wouldn't tried to fight a badger before he accepted Irispaw as an apprentice. Rosestar seems sweet, but clearly, she's pretty cruel to have assigned him this as his apprentice. Well, whatever, he'll just swallow down the awful things he's thinking of saying, and just continue on with the training.
"Alright, you two --." He stops himself, holding his tongue for a second, partly to illicit a reaction from the already impatient Irispaw, and partly to give her a cold look. Is it obvious he finds her annoying? "Today, your opponent won't be each other, but me. If either, or both of you, can keep me pinned down for 5 seconds -- I'll let you eat fresh-kill with the warriors tonight." He swished his tail and purred in amusement at the thought.

ginkoleaf Ginkoleaf stifled a groan and clenched his jaw, obviously uncomfortable with the situation. "Maybe less than that... Someone could have caught another one without you knowing!" Alderapple's teasing had most definitely achieved his goal as the ginger tom shifted his weight uneasily. "No I... I went alone." His friend's accusation did hit a bit of a sore spot, and he undoubtedly took it way too seriously. He took a step back defensively, his skinny white-tipped tail flicking back and forth behind him. "I would not go hunting just to catch impressive prey! I would never be so selfish!" The young tom pouted, furrowing his brow. Of course, that statement was a lie entirely. He had passed up several smaller pieces of prey and spent ages stalking that rabbit. His efforts paid off this time but had they not, it would have been rather foolish of him...

petunianose Petunianose was off on his own doing, you know, deputy things. Despite the time that had passed he never really felt like his role had sunk in properly. He was still young, but the positions had been thrust upon him and Rosestar so quickly he hadn't seen it coming. The large and fluffy male was dangerously lost in thought as he wandered the perimeter of the territory, on a solo-patrol of sorts. Or that's what he would call it at least. His powerful haunches launched him upwards as he leaped to a low tree branch to survey the surrounding area. This was actually farther than he usually went - closer to twolegs and kittypets than ideal. Hearing a disturbance of the plant growth nearby, his curiosity urged him to investigate. Stealth admittedly was not one of his strong suits as his long fur was prone to catching on small plants and branches, moving them ever so slightly. Ah - there was the source of the noise. A partially white kittypet, presumably. No longer concerned about danger, he observed from a fairly close distance, his bright pink nose twitching. They weren't quite close enough to clan territory for it to be an immediate concern, but they were pretty close. Any farther and he would doubtless try to stop them.

Ramune
Ramune wasn't the greatest of hunters. So for him to even be this close to catching a shrew is beyond his own belief. But here he is, low to the ground and a barely flickering tail and-the shrew runs off. "Good job Ramune, just. scared you're meal away." He sighs and begins to trail a little bit closer and quieter into the area, now pushing into Floretclan Territory. Ramune ignores it, but he has the sensation of being watched.

@ altaid [ alderdapple & ginkoleaf ] Mission accomplished. He got the reaction he was trying to receive, but it left him with a few more questions than he'd entered the conversation with. He was inquisitive, but this time his teasing tone was dropped. "Wait -- so, if you went out alone, what were you trying to do?" He had to admit he often sneaked out of camp, but always with a reason. He has a feeling his assumption that Ginkoleaf was trying to garner praise from his higher-ups wasn't so far-fetched. The tone picked back up once again, partly to lighten the mood and partly because, once again, he was teasing. "Confident enough to go out and get a good catch, but not enough to admit it, huh?"

Irispaw swished her tail. Starclan, hurry up already! Why did everyone have to be so slow?! An annoyed huff. Come oooooooooooooon already. She honestly kind of feels the same way-- why'd she have to get Brunneamist for a mentor? He's boring and slow and he clearly doesn't like her! She didn't even do anything, he just hates her for no reason! She finds the whole thing really irritating. She should've gotten a way cooler mentor...
"Are you going against both of us at once?" Bloompaw piped up, finally. "Yeah! I could beat you on my own!" interjected Irispaw. "I don't need help!" Cocky as ever. "You could not." Bloompaw's quiet voice was drowned out about halfway through by Irispaw's loud, "could too!" Bloompaw gave Brunneamist another look. 'How do you LIVE with this cat?'

S o r r e l s h a d e C a m p || Z i n n i a p a w Sorrelshade contemplated the idea of training with the other warriors, and remembered seeing a few of them leaving with their apprentices earlier. "You know, if we see any of them out there on our way to the Sycamore then we'll join them," she decided. Quickly finishing off a last bit of the meat off the bones of the squirrel she brushed the fur and bigger bones aside into the earth and got to her paws. Motioning with her tail to Zinniapaw to follow she headed out up the softslope of camp and out into the territory. It was really quite a nice day outside and it warmed her from the inside out, "I hope today goes well," she thought hopefully, "they have all the makings of a great warrior," Sorrelshade glanced over at the apprentice warmly. C l o v e r p a w C a m p || L u p i n e w h i s k e r "I won't get sick! Promise!" Cloverpaw exclaimed, a smile plastered across his face that he had convinced his mentor to let him get out of camp sooner rather than later. "And if I do get hungry I'll just catch myself a snack". He got to his paws and padded ahead of Lupinewhisker, trotting along out the softslope just behind Sorrelshade and her apprentice. The mention of fishing had almost gone over his head, but only barely. "We're going to the pond?" He questioned, looking back at his mentor as he kept walking along and tilted his head. "I don't think I've ever done that before," Cloverpaw thought with slight apprehension. N e t t l e p a w C a m p || M i n t g a z e Nettlepaw loudly groaned awake, a sound reminiscent of an old, dying two-leg monster. He peeled open his eyes and gave the sun a frightening stare-down as if he were about to curse it out for having decided to come out today. "Next time I'm sleeping with moss over my eyes," he decided, grumbling to himself. Over with his hissy-fit within moments, the lilac-pointed tom stretched to his paws, taking his sweet time to stretch out every muscle in his back and his hind-legs. "Mintgaze?" He called out into the medicine cat den through sleep-crusted eyes.

He blinked away the expression from his face, and let his tail stand tall and proud as he elaborated. "Well, you may choose whatever tactics you wish. Zinniapaw
Zinniapaw happily followed their mentor up the softslope and out of the camp. Their eyes drifted around the scenery, spotting trees, leaves, grass, insects along with taking in the scent of it all. Typically, the camp was full of a flower smell that Zinniapaw themself have become numb too in scent, wether it from the roses or garden, who knows. But Zinniapaw, since becoming an apprentice, has been enjoying the smells seperate from just flowers. Not only is it refreshing but going back into camp is like smelling the place for the first time again. Zinniapaw always enjoys this experience. They are fairly excited to be training today, or rather the kidn of training they will be doing today.
.........
Lupinewhisker
She follows Cloverpaw out of camp and then catches up to walk beside him. Lupinewhisker beams at the apprentice's enthusiasm and while she spots Sorrelshade and Zinniapaw ahead, she doesn't quite bother them. "Indeed. I am going to teach you how to fish today. Is that not exciting Cloverpaw?" she answers to him, following along but eventually splitting off from the direction Zinniapaw and her mentor are going.

The black-and-gray tom was busy sorting through herbs, going through the inventory and taking note of things that were starting to run low-- they'd probably need to restock pretty soon here. He never liked having less than plenty of anything-- in an emergency, if something was unavailable, it could really be bad... Upon hearing his name, though, his ear twitched, turning to greet the newcomer. "Good morning, Nettlepaw," he mewed cheerfully. "How are you?"

"Do we get an unlimited number of tries? I wanna try a ton of stuff!" Her tail swished back and forth a few times, excitement completely eclipsing whatever annoyance she was feeling. She could totally do it! "Can I do something on my own first? And maybe later we can both try-- I'm sure Bloompaw will need the help!"
That earned a glare from Bloompaw. Her tail twitched with annoyance. Wow, thanks, Irispaw. "Go ahead, if you want-- but I want to try by myself once, too, then. --And... you realize Warriors need to use teamwork sometimes, too, right? You're not going to get anything done trying to be a showoff." Sure, she prefers to be alone, and sure, she doesn't like working with others, but she's able to, if the situation calls for it. Irispaw will never be a good warrior if she doesn't realize that-- and it gets on her nerves. Where does she get off being so cocky? She clearly doesn't even grasp the basics.
"Of course I do! I can just do it on my own! I'm a great fighter," Irispaw purred. ".... Sure," eventually came Bloompaw's less-than-enthusiastic response.

petunianose Ah, there. The kittypet was pushing into their territory. He let out a quiet, bemused chuckle as the shrew ran off, and emerged from the undergrowth surrounding both of the cats. "Ramune?" He repeated what was seemingly the tailless cat's foreign sounding name. "More like Ramu-never catches anything!" Oh, he was hilarious. In his opinion at least. Meeting a stranger in the clan's territory probably wasn't the best time for a joke. But this stranger clearly posed no threat, as evidenced during that shrew fiasco. And he was just too proud of his pun to not tell anyone. He let out a small laugh in response to his own joke, staring down the other tom.

S o r r e l s h a d e T e r r i t o r y || Z i n n i a p a w The two cats slowly made their way towards the Sycamore. It wasn't a long walk at all, and Sorrelshade could tell that Zinniapaw was enjoying the bits of scenery around them. She had been their mentor for just about two moons now and the she-cat felt prideful every minute. To be quite honest with herself, she didn't think she'd ever have the chance to be a mentor; being so soft-spoken and gentle, it can be a downfall in certain instances where a more forceful approach is more effective. But Sorrelshade hadn't found herself in that predicament yet with Zinniapaw. She thought about her own mentor who'd died to sickness just a season ago, "I miss you Ryefrost," she thought with a pang in her heart, a feeling that was more than just a mentor to apprentice relationship. She had grown to love the tom when she finished her training, and Sorrelshade had started getting the idea that he felt the same, right around the time he passed. Letting out a small huff, the she-cat distracted herself with the wonderful smells of the territory and humming of the birds that seemed to get more chaotic as they approached the Sycamore. C l o v e r p a w T e r r i t o r y || L u p i n e w h i s k e r The black furred tom nodded eagerly, his tail weaving behind him like a branch in a storm. "Yes of course! But I just," he thought carefully about his next words, "Why can't we just hunt on the ground instead of getting our paws wet? How do you not slip on the mud and stones?" Cloverpaw gave his mentor an inquisitive look. He wasn't trying to challenge her but simply get down to why they were fishing today. N e t t l e p a w C a m p || M i n t g a z e A friendly smile spread across his thin face and he leaned back a bit with his muzzle in the air in greeting, "Hey old geezer," the apprentice replied, blinking his eyes a couple of times to get them relaxed and adjusted to the light, then met his mentor's gaze. "I'm doing well. What's the plans for today, hm?" Nettlepaw asked, expecting a long list of to-dos. Although he did tease Mintgaze, it was all in good fun - he really did like the other tom-cat and thought of him as someone genuine and reliable.

Ramune
Ramune looks up and over to the point of sound and locates the Tom. He knew he was being watched...also that joke was terrible. "That was the worst joke I've ever heard. Plus, I'll have you know I've caught plenty of shrews!" he huffs and edges closer to where the other cat sits."Who are you anyways? I've never seen you around here before... are you new?" He tilts his head slightly awaiting the toms reply.

Zinniapaw
Zinniapaw practically bounced for joy as the approached. Every second seemed to take so long. They were full to the brim with energy this day, and it was absolutely obvious, not that they wanted to hide it all that much. As they continued the walk toward the sycamore, the scent of the great tree grew stronger until they arrived at last. Zinniapaw happily took a seat and awaited their mentor's instructions.
.........
Lupinewhisker
She paused for a moment "For one it, it aids us in the amount of skill we have, so if one type of prey runs out, another is freshly available." she ponders the next question too as they grow closer to the river and then the pond. "Patients and caution are wise things to learn at your age, along with balance. Learning to not slip on the mud or rocks will aid you in this." Lupinewhisker's next sentence has a much more giddy tone to it "Plus fishing is one of my favorite types of hunting!"

@ storm [ willowpaw & yarrowmoon ] A small whine and an angry swish of her large, gray tail was enough to signify that Willowpaw was upset. But what really solidified it was the bitter, melodramatic limp that she did on her way down the Softslope. She cursed under her tongue every time she would accidentally press the pad of her front left paw into the ground. She moved along the ground of cracked stone as quickly as she could, and once she got to the entrance of the medicine cat den, tried to make herself as small as she could to squeeze through the crack in the hollow rock. She quickly found herself disappointed once she figured out that the medicine cat who was in the den was Yarrowmoon, and not Mintgaze. Of course they could do their job, but Willowpaw figured they would much prefer the sweet-smelling flowers that they're often taking care of over bitter herbs and foul-tasting mouse bile. She twitched her ears, and blinked a couple of times to adjust herself to the darkness of the small, wet cave. She cleared her throat and soon spoke, making her tone very clear that she was upset. "I've got a thorn in my paw!" It's found it's way rooted in, too deep for her to simple have just pulled it out with her teeth. But, that's what she gets for messing with the rose bushes. TODAY WAS A DAY that they had expected to keep to themselves devoted to STUDY and careful upkeep of the things residing within their half of the den. a bushel of the white - and - yellow blooms from which YARROWMOON got their name lay upon a slightly raised mound, though their current interest had been captured by a tiny pile of truffles that the tabby had taken to picking at with a single claw. of course, this peaceful day was soon disrupted by a certain yowling, the telltale vocalizations of one of the clan's younger residents. YARROWMOON TURNED AT the sound, padding forward to meet the apprentice an all - too common ailment she spoke of, it seemed.
" and how did you get into this mess ? " their voice was quiet and calming, though perhaps the tiniest bit chiding.

S o r r e l s h a d e T e r r i t o r y || Z i n n i a p a w The she-cat stopped a few fox-lengths in front of the Sycamore tree and was instantly in action, "Alright," she began, her tail flickering back and fourth with enthusiasm. "Last time we learned the front paw blow and the tail yank," she recalled their previous session aloud not only for her apprentice but also for herself as a reminder. "Today we will be working on the leap and hold as well as a more defensive move called the duck and twist. Learning defense is just as important as learning how to plain fight," she told Zinniapaw, hoping to drill it into them that it wasn't all just about the attack but also being able to defend yourself from the attacker.

He spoke quietly and curtly, making sure that the apprentices clung onto his speech like a mouse they were digging their claws into. In the Clan, he had no influence above any other warrior, but he surely gave off this important presence. It came out especially when he was making commands.
"Listen, Irispaw, nobody gives a badger's tail if you say over and over again that you're best hunter, fighter, gatherer, whatever if you can't prove it." He put himself into a low crouch -- a defensive stance. "So, the two of you -- prove it."

@ storm [ willowpaw & yarrowmoon ] "Get into this mess? You make it sound like it's my fault..." Her tone was joking, but there was traces in her voice that implied that she was genuinely hurt at Yarrowmoon's 'unfair' assumption. Well, now that she was being given her rightful medical attention, she sat down with her front paw raised, as to not put any pressure on it. She considered being truthful, and simply admitting that she misstepped the slightest, but she figured the alternative would land her some points, so that's what she went with. Lying through her teeth.
"I was sitting outside camp, waiting for Daisyheart to come back, when my aching stomach combined with my sensitive nose." She spoke with exaggeration, since she was telling a story, after all. "A mouse!" She slammed her paw onto the ground, before recalling, once again, that there was a thorn in it. She let out a tiny yip, but figured she should continue her story, anyway, beginning to speak again with slightly gritted teeth. "So, um, anyways, I dropped into a low crouch, but I guess it could smell me... And it ran into the rose bushes! But I was quick, I figured, so I sprinted after it -- Only to find my paws empty, with nothing but a thorn."

Zinniapaw
Zinniapaw nods with pure enthusiasm. They are extremely focused on their mentors every word. Zinniapaw vaguely recall the last session aswell. They think about how well fhey couldve done vs how well they did. Zinniapaw likes to consider themself an okay fighter, however they havent been training all too long so who knows? Who is to say they wont be a great warrior by the end of this? Zinniapaw slightly doubts that idea but who knows. They shrug to themself and shake off the thought, going back to focus on their mentors explanation.

The tom stopped, fidgeting a bit. Why did he leave alone? "Well you know, it was early... I didn't wanna bother anyone." Well, it was kind of true. He did feel bad bothering people. He gave a forced sheepish smile. "Haha, you know how I am!" His tone was stilted, but he was trying his best to match his friend's lighter-hearted tone. He added on a friendly little flick of his ears, tilting his head slightly and blinking his yellow-green eyes in a friendly manner.

All jokes aside, though, there was lots to do. "I'd like to restock our supplies a bit-- they're lower than I like to keep them, first off. Marigold's close to the river, but I'd also like to check the patch of catmint near the Twoleg nest and see how it's growing. The last thing we need is to be running out of catmint in the middle of leaf-bare... --Oh, and I also wanted to restock on dock leaves, but we have enough of those to get by on for now. Of course, Saffronstep was always complaining about something, but that was beside the point.

Ramune // Forest // Petuniarose - altaid Well if that wasn't the silliest thing Ramune had heard all day he didn't know what was. Not only that but this was where he'd always hunt and suddenly some forest cat feels free to claim this as his place and make an insulting joke to him. Ramune can't help but laugh just a little bit before her retorts "I will have you know, I have hunted plenty of times in this forest and have never once interacted with another cat from 'Floretclan'" If he'd had the ability, Ramune would have made a motion to the taunting quotation marks, however, he can't so he just heavily implies this within his response. "Anywho Forest cat. I'd like to inform you that I do, indeed, know what a joke is. I simply just have taste." His tone is a somewhat a mix between joking and snarky. Ramune is enjoying this interaction, it's giving him something to do. Let's just hope he doesn't push too hard on this and get himself hurt. As he pressed just a small bit forward, Ramune thought to himself about what a clan may actually be.
(we gotta add smug to Ramune's bio now lol)

Of course, you should be able to battle on your own, but a worthy opponent is impossible for any cat to take on on their own. That isn't me being mean, just factual." He spoke quietly and curtly, making sure that the apprentices clung onto his speech like a mouse they were digging their claws into.
"So, the two of you -- prove it." "I will! I'm going first, though! That's fine, right?" Irispaw hardly waited for an answer before getting into a battle stance.
"Sure," Bloompaw half-heartedly agreed.
"Great!" Irispaw dropped to a crouch, and started to head one way, before switching directions to try and fake him out. From there, things just seemed to go downhill-- whatever strategy she was going to try and use was completely abandoned. Switching back and forth a couple more times before just flat-out ramming into him head-first at full force, with the intention of knocking him over, or at least throwing him off balance. Playing off that, she pinned him just long enough to get out a loud, "Onetwothreefourfive! I win!"

@ ang ♡ [ brunneamist, irispaw, & bloompaw ] His breath was knocked out of him for no time at all. There was one unexpected charge, and he found himself on the ground for a split second before he used both of his hind legs to knock her off of him. Her 'I win!' was cut off, and he was very quick to get off his feet. He didn't need to say anything, only his cold dead stare that indicated that Irispaw had, in fact, not won.

She knew that look.... but she was going to protest it anyway, pushing herself back to her feet and shaking herself off. "I won! I did! C'mooon, Bloompaw, back me up!"
"You didn't," she replied curtly.
"Well, thanks for nothing!" An annoyed huff, and she crouched back into a battle stance... This time maybe she'd actually try to strategize? She charged forward again, using very similar fake-out tactics to try and get closer and confuse him at the same time... Seeing as they were so similar, though, it was probably incredibly easy to see what was coming.

@ ang ♡ [ brunneamist, irispaw, & bloompaw ] This time, the throws were a lot more predictable. Considering he'd just seen them. He moved out of the way of them pretty easily, and knocked her to the side with both his front paws, rearing up on his hind legs. When she was knocked back, he ceased the opportunity to jump further away from her. His tail swished in a manner that spoke for him: 'You're gonna have to do better than that.'
"You're just throwing random punches. It's safe to assume your opponent will be smarter than you --" Was that a diss? " -- and will dodge it just as easily as I did. You need strategy."
