(Okay! We're moving! I'm a bit late, LOL.)
Aether sighed quietly, moving along in the throng of the group. He hated the whole idea of this huge journey, and was suddenly regretting not just moving back to the Twolegplace. There'd be hunger, and illness, and cats would get hurt... But then again, maybe he'd have a chance to take over! He smirked slightly to himself, raising his tail. Yes. If there was any benefit to this thing, it'd be that!
Willow was lagging behind the other cats quite significantly. Being the younger, more frail cat she was, and also having kits to carry, she was a great deal slower than the others. However, it wasn't like she couldn't see the group - There was no danger of the she-cat getting lost. She glanced over her shoulder, looking back the way she came. It wasn't too late to turn back, was it...?

All things said and done, there was no denying that the shortage of food had affected far more than the group Oak had at his paws, it was of substantial surprise to young Whiskers. Although, he almost wondered if they'd be fighting these cats for food if they'd all remained. Shaking such pessimistic thoughts from his head, the ginger focused on a bright future! However the comment of rabbits earned an inquisitive little look from the younger cat, wide eyes trained on Oak, "A rabbit?" Surely he knew of the long earred creatures but they weren't as common in the forests as the mice and birds he had learned to catch thanks to the two tabby cats. His gaze swiftly swapped over towards Ash, however, at the mention of hunting, the young cat immediately overwhelmed with excitement once more. "You're going to teach me how to hunt rabbits!?" Whiskers exclaimed, his pawsteps falling back into eager little hops, as always acting more like a kit than a young adult. "Is it really that different?" Thorn soon slowed her step, less out of any form of exhaustion and more out of a light case of curiosity. She had recalled noting a young she-cat burdened with kits whilst everyone was speaking, and perhaps some part way deep down actually felt capable of sympathy. Whilst it seemed the larger gray warrior covering the back had found himself preoccupied with the two carrying kits, the gray she cat herself eventually came to a slow pace beside willow. The temperamental old cat turned her gaze to the pregnant she-cat, a vague glimmer of softness in her eyes. "Having a hard time keeping up, are you?" she asked, though her old voice wasn't bearing the scathing bitterness that she had been offering the rest of the group so far.

It was a bit of a marvel to see the young cat pushing herself along despite her state, but perhaps that was one of the miracles of being a mother, or a mother-to-be in this case. Thorn's gruff expression allowed a flicker of thoughtfulness to cross her face as she looked over Willow in a moment of silence. It would indeed be a hard journey for her, she hardly looked old enough to be bearing kits. "Perhaps not, and yet you are here."The older cat replied, though her tone lacked the hard edge of criticism, "It is a strong cat that makes the choice to do what's best, even if they must face difficulty." Thorn paused after these words, looking ahead, though her expression remained unreadable, almost far away for a moment. She shook her head briefly, clearing her head of whatever thoughts plagued them "What I mean to say is, if you need a body to lean against when you grow weary, I offer you my assistance."

Willow nodded thankfully, a smile growing on her face. "Thank you," She mewed softly. "I probably wouldn't be in the best state to travel without the kits, to be honest," She admitted. The she-cat almost stumbled over a pebble in her path, but quickly managed to regain her balance. "My name is Willow, by the way," She added, once her paws were firmly on the right track once more.

skyshe had stuck near the back of the group, just trailing along behind the large assortment of cats she had now found herself a a part of. and that was rather odd as she had never really been in a large group and usually felt uncomfortable around a large number of cats. however, now they were travelling into unknown territory, she almost felt comforted by the fact that there were others around she could rely on just in case they happened to get into trouble. as she walked, her ears had inclined towards the rather grumpy she-cat from before and another clearly pregnant stranger. it seemed as though the she-cat was not all as grumpy and prickly as she seemed to be, but sky didn't say anything about it, just giving the two cats a small look as she picked up the pace to move towards the front of the group to try and get a better look at where they were heading. not that she had any intentions of leading all of them, but she couldn't help but be curious about what might be on the horizon in front of them. "what do you think might be out there?" she wondered to no one in particular as she padded a couple of pawsteps behind the lead cats, "i've never been this far away from the forest before."

Despite her unwelcoming tendencies and such, Thorn allowed the faintest smile in return before looking away, as if some how awkward with such niceties. It had been many a moon, after all.. As the young she-cat stumbled, however, the mainly gray old cat flinched, darting forward a step in an act to catch Willow if she had fallen, however she promptly backed away again when she regained her footing, a sigh escaping the old cat. "Careful, then, young Willow." She replied with a snort, seemingly almost out of her own embarrassment of moving so quickly to aid the pregnant cat, ear giving a dismissive flick. After a pause she finally shared a glance back at Willow before speaking, "You may call me Thorn."

Willow nodded lightly. "Well then. It's nice to meet you, Thorn." The she-cat glanced left and right, watching. Watching the gaps between the trees, and what lurked in them. Watching the darkness under the forest canopy, and the speckles of light that shone through. When she had left her group, she had fallen from her family's favour, and the third floor of her Twolegplace building. Now, she had to survive alone. Well, kind of alone. Willow sighed quietly. She didn't even know where she was going...

Bandit Keeping a good pace with the others, Bandit let his mind wander a bit as he looked at the grassy meadow before them. He had never seen so much open space at once. It was honestly a little overwhelming, and it took his breath away. Would the place they found be like this? He hoped for more trees, they were more comforting. His bright eyes were wide as they traveled, taking everything in for the first time.
Jackie The calico's ears went back at the appearance of the new cat. She had never been comfortable with strangers, but this one didn't immediately annoy her like the others. She tossed her head back with a sneer. "This is neither the time nor place for petty feuds. Survival is what matters." The various scars along her pelt showed evidence to her words.
Nimbus Well his attempts at conversation weren't working well, so he decided to just enjoy the experience. He hung towards the back, keeping an eye on the group. He couldn't say that it was an instinct to protect, but the open area unnerved him and he felt better being able to see everyone. The new addition of a pregnant cat made him feel the need to keep an eye out even more prominent, and he kept a steady gaze on the area.

(apparently i thought i had replied when i hadn't really)copper"i don't suppose it would be hard to follow all these scents," with so many cats, it would be pretty easy for anyone who arrived late to easily follow them. Just so long as they didn't have to cross any rivers or the rain didn't come and wash everything away, then the strong scent of cats should be enough to follow. his ears twitched a little with amusement, waving his tail slightly. "the forest has always been full of cats. you would know that if you came out more with me," though they had been friends, copper had always felt like he was the only one really interested in exploring and learning how to hunt properly. a proper wild cat. just that thought was enough to bring him confidence, holding his head up a little higher as he padded along beside his friend. "i feel more like one than i ever have before," he admitted, though hesitated for just a moment, the collar rubbing uncomfortably against his neck as solid reminder that he could never just imagine he had always been wild. it was an anchor showing everyone where he had come from and it had already been proven other cats were not going to like him because of it.

"Havent heard that in a while." Thorn replied and although her tone gave nothing away, a breathy chuckling sound soon followed. Even so, her guard never seemed to drop, ears perked and alert for danger as if all too used to the prospect of defending herself, though the muscles beneath her thick pelt could tell the same story. Her age had certainly not dulled her senses as others might have suspected. "You're worried, yes?" She suddenly piped up once again, although her eyes focused well ahead rather than on the young cat beside her, "Walking along into unknown territory, among strangers that know nothing more than you of where we will stop. It's frightening, isn't it?"
A purr of amusement escaped the young ginger at Oak's comment, attentive enough to gather Oak's hunting skills didn't quite match up to Ash's, although this didn't dampen his idolization for the two Tabby cats on an equal level. Perhaps that was simply the work of brotherhood, unconditional affection regardless of flaws and such. As Ash began to explain the difference in hunting rabbit, the ginger's head snapped towards him, natural attentive-looking expression glued to the older cat, though his whiskers twitched with impatience fueled by his excitement. Even so, he couldn't help but feeling like catching a rabbit didn't sound as hard as a mouse, his youthful naivety perhaps.

Thorn was quiet as the young cat spilled her problems suddenly, although she didn't seem nearly as annoyed as one might have expected given her first impressions. "You have nothing to apologize for." Thorn stated coolly, as though so certain of the future even she had not yet seen. "You're concerns are natural ones, any cat alone and in your state would succumb to such fears." Her words still bore the gnarled tone of an aging cat, but a sense of softness entered her words, eyes gazing over the large horde of cats in front of them with a sense of thoughtfulness. "Though I know none of these cats, I can't imagine any cat still worth the title of one would leave a mother and her kits to fend for themselves." Thorns tone bore a harsh connotation, not towards young willow, but perhaps those that matched what she didn't believe could be a cat. Even someone such as herself found it a task she could not complete; harming a helpless kit alongside a weakened mother. Perhaps it was a weakness on her part as well, but it was one she dared believe every cat should wear proudly.

Bandit The tom padded silently, lost in his own thoughts. He was still getting used to the new sights and smells of the wild. It hadn't been a full moon since he left, and surviving on his own had been...difficult to say the least. He was beginning to learn the differences in scents, but hunting had proven the most complicated so far. He scanned the group quietly. A few of them seemed to be hardened survivors. Maybe he could pick up a few tips and tricks from them.
Jackie Jackie eyed Roxy cautiously. This cat seemed fairly fresh out of the twoleg nest, so she most likely posed very little threat. Besides, she thought to herself, it was likely to be a long journey, and some company would make it less boring. She flicked an ear in greeting. "Jackie. How long has it been since you left your twoleg's nest?"
Nimbus Watching the group from the back, Nimbus couldn't help but notice the sheer number. Of course, he felt more comfortable knowing it wasn't just himself out there, but it wasn't the most comforting thought. He tried not to show it on his face, but inside he was starting to worry if they'd be able to feed everybody. His own hunting skills were passable, but unless the journey was filled with dumb blind animals, they would need to learn quickly.

"I think that I'm treating this journey as more of a... As more of an opportunity to run away, too. And that might be why I'm panicking." She shrugged lightly, before glancing up. She noticed a few large rainclouds in the distance, and frowned slightly. "And of course it has to rain," The she-cat sighed.

Despite her age, Thorn hardly looked winded though she kept the slow pace with the younger cat, occasionally shooting her a glance to make sure she was still holding up. Though they hadn't been on the move long, and Thorn herself wasn't ready to stop so soon, the She-cat couldn't help but wonder when, where, and how they'd decide when to rest. The group was rather divided as it stood, she do little to remedy that with how own displeasure, and as of now she saw no one with the strength to lead such a large group of cats. Not yet, but maybe she'd be surprised along the way. However, noticing Willow's seeming exhaustion, and with a heavy deal of hesitation, the old cat lightly brushed against the younger cat, flicking her ear in a light gesture of help. "You may lean on me if you wish."

Supporting the smaller cat with little to no apparent difficulty, Thorn continued on at the steady pace Willow had set for them. Perhaps a part of her was disappointed she was the only one to approach the young cat, her eyes narrowing at the large group ahead bearing a significant number of able-bodied cats. Then again she figured she was expecting to much from this mottled assortment of cats, after all, she had already passed her judgement that they all seemed like fools. Nevertheless, her ears remained perked, ears angling in different directions once in a while in an effort to keep aware of any potential dangers, thick tail dragging behind with a light sway. Willow remained quiet, allowing herself to fall into a steady pace. Paw over paw. One, two, one, two. A small technique her mother had taught her for keeping pace with the group whilst travelling - Count pawsteps. Find places in your path, and count them as smaller journeys. Once you finish a smaller one, count their pawsteps until the other. It had never really worked for her before, but she suddenly found herself falling back into the same pattern.
