Ash's response only seemed to rev up the young cat's excitement further, his imagination already spinning tales of grand adventures, perhaps far beyond the expectations of this one in particular. Even so, perhaps that youthful innocence would be for the best under these arduous circumstances. "I can't wait..!" Whiskers purred, though a clearer sign of this rose the form of the young cat's body trembling with barely contained excitement. He'd come far from a simple kittypet himself over the moons he'd spent with Oak and Ash, and if anything, he seemed to only grow more curious of the world he had been shut away from during his kit-hood. Even the lack of ducks failed to damper his spirits, only seeming to fuel his curiosity. However, his attention soon fell upon Oak once more, whiskers giving a soft twitch as he considered the older cat's uncertain suggestion. "Oh, oh, oh, what if the rock leads us to ducks!?" he exclaimed, all too unaware of how silly his own suggestion was, but perhaps the ginger just wanted to get moving whatever the truth of the matter. Storm's eyes softened on the kittypet, perhaps impressed by his desire to prove his own value, nodding in understanding. It would be hard for kittypets, especially those unwilling to stand strong on their own and perhaps that made it more admirable to see Copper holding his own. Nevertheless he seemed satisfied with the agreement for the time being, letting the topic slide away for another time. They at least had some plan set aside for that, whether it was set in stone or merely a general idea. However, that did leave the next topic of business -- Where they were going. He was silent for many moments, his amber eyes analyzing the rock thoughtfully. "Hm, It did say follow the Mallard.." he spoke, though he seemed to still be in consideration, "If we were all brought to Mallard's point, perhaps it is the point that we should be following, after all, I see no ducks waiting for us." Though his statement was serious, though as uncertain as the others must have been feeling, a light chuckle rumbled in his throat as he spoke of the ducks.

Moon found a couple of the cats in the twolegplace he came from that were willing to travel with him, and found that they weren't as bad as he had originally thought. The she-cat was loud and obnoxious, sure, and the tom was too quiet -- but Moon found them quite companionable. They were still kittens, after all. " Are you two okay? We're almost there. "
Score looked over at Moon from her conversation with her brother, Goalie, and smiled. "He's a bit tired, but we'll be okay." The golden tom nodded, and flicked his tail towards the other cat in their party. Besides him was a larger black and white she-cat. " What 'bout you, Ber-ber?"
Berry tilted her head, and nodded. " I'm just worried about Balthier. He said he'd be here by now! " She sighed and laughed softly, " Maybe he's already there? "
" Well he did say he knew -- " Moon was interrupted by Score's loud and excited meow.
" Guys, I smell cats! Lotsa cats! "
A rustle could be heard from nearby and the cats all froze. From the direction of the noise can another, a purr, along with a familiar face. "Are you really going go walk this slow. Moon, grab the ginger one, I have the loud one. Berry, lead the way. Let's catch up before they leave us behind. "

copper - mallard pointit seemed their main problem was trying to work out which direction they were going to be heading in. things could turn out rather bad if they decided on a direction and it led them nowhere. it was dangerous to travel too far, even with the amount of cats they had and he was starting to wonder if all of them would be able to make it. he wanted to be hopeful about things, however, so he decided not to mention that and was instead silent as he tried to think about what to do. standing a padding closer to the rock, copper stared at it for just a moment before turning to face in the same direction it was pointing. he'd never been this far from home before, even when hunting he used to stick close to his fence. this was all new for him and he didn't know what might wait for them. "i think we should follow where the rock is pointing," he piped up after a moment, crouching and suddenly poncing to land on top of mallard point, trying to get a better look at what might be in the distance. "i don't see any ducks around and i don't think we can just stand around here for much longer waiting for a sign." if there was going to be one, he had a feeling the ancestors might have sent it by now.

Bone walked through the forest silent. He glanced around and hoped his search could stop. He stopped hearing noise and glanced around. He looked over seeing some cats.

Balthier took Score by the scruff as he watched Moon do the same with Goalie, motioning for Berry to start going before them. His beckoning motioned for there to be haste -- and he noticed the young she-cat nod. He swept his gaze back to Moon and nodded, leaping after Berry.
Moon nodded as well, making sure that Goalie was comfortable before leaping after Balthier. He was skeptical, having smelled the strange cats' smell as well and felt hesitant. He was however, greeted with the sight of many cats as Berry gave out a yowl of warning to allow them not to startle the rag-tag bunch off cats that stood at this 'Mallard' place. He wondered if he would be accepted, after all, he was born to be a pet for the upwalkers. Most of these looked to be like wild cats.

Despite his idea being shot down, Whiskers looked anything but upset as seemed to be a characteristice of the ginger. Instead, he continued curiously listening to the two tabby's and the mottled group of strange cats consider their options, his ears angling one way and then another in an almost comical display. In reality, the young tom was just looking forward to getting on the move, almost certain things would improve when everyone wasn't huddled around a rock bouncing each other's uncertainties amongst one another. Aside from the few displeased cats, perhaps out of his own naivety, he wanted to think on the move they'd all be able to get better acquainted. After all, this was an adventure they'd be sharing, they might as well get along during it. "I still hope we see some ducks. A duck sounds tasty." Whiskers purred as he leapt to his paws, working them against the soil in impatience.
Storm shared in the the agreement of the other cats, feeling somehow content that they had finally come to a decision. Even so, he silently made note of the big talkers, those that inspired the most agreement. Even with each cat having a single mind, a journey like this... it was bound to bring rise to a need for a single leader -- someone who could hold the respect and leadership of all of them. The large gray tom chuckled to himself, once more wondering if he was going senile, surely he was over thinking such a journey's effect on them. "Lead on, I'd like to hang back with the slower cats myself." he replied, already feeling some concern for those not yet prepared for a journey into the unknown. As it seemed that decisions had been made, finally, Thorn rose to her paws once more, though her expression was still far from inviting and her tail lashed with impatience. "Took long enough, I could have have grown older and died right here with all that time wasted..." she huffed, her tone bitter and unfriendly. Were this anything else, she would have simply left back to her own, it was clear she was a loner, and one for a reason at that given her attitude. Whatever driving her was an unknown it seemed, however.

copper - mallard pointhe nodded his head in agreement with his own words, the very tip of his tail twitching quite eagerly with the prospect that they were going to get moving. and even more cats had arrived now, making quite a lot of them gathered around. clearly, the ancestors had called to every cat in the forest and, from the looks of things, every single one had listened to the dream and shown up. and that was rather exciting to think about. he was going to be a part of something and he was all up for the challenge, even if that meant leaving everything he knew and having to hunt and survive with this strange group of cats instead of relying on his own to feed him. and it was going to be hard, he knew that, but there was no turning back now and he was going to prove that he was not just some soft kittypet. jumping down from the top of the rock, he landed softly on the ground before looking around for just a moment, padding a couple of steps in the direction they were going to be travelling in. "i'll stay in the middle," he added when Storm mentioned he would stick with the back with the slower cats, "make sure that we're all keeping up." though he wasn't incredibly confident enough to take the head of the group. he wasn't sure that many people would happily follow a kittypet at the front.
sky- mallard pointrising to her paws as it seemed everyone around her had come to an agreement as to which direction they were heading in, sky deemed it a good enough plan. there was not a chance she was going to stay, not while the twolegs destroying everything and scaring off all the prey. though, she did suppose it would be easier if there were not as many cats around trying to fight over everything. "i didn't see you adding any ideas," sky couldn't help but meow rather plainly, eyes moving over to thorn and gazing rather calmly at her. "if you were so worried about it taking too long, you could have offered some suggestions." it seemed like the only thing that she-cat knew how to do was complain and pick holes in everyone else. but sky was not looking for a fight, quickly moving her eyes away from the she-cat and instant slowly padding over towards the main group, ready to head off in the direction they had decided in.

Mint notices the large group of cats and races over to them. She heard from her friends about some cats who were thinking about leaving. She had thought long and hard about her choice and she decided to go with them. Her Twolegs had a new kitten to look after. They didn't really need her.
Stone was shyly standing near by. He was more than ready to leave his old life behind. In fact, he never wanted to see this place again. "Goodbye mother and father." He mumbled under his breath.
Gorse wasn't sure what he was doing. He didn't know why he decided to follow this band of ruffians but here he was. Gorse twitches his nose hoping he would not regret this journey. Mean, I could simply leave them and go my own way if I don't like things. He reasoned to himself.

((Sorry I've been running errands all day.))
Bandit Bandit watched the whole thing silently. He wanted to speak up during the discussion, but the comment about kittypets stopped him. That's what he was, he realized suddenly. He had always viewed cats as one of two things: Free or Not. For a long time, he had been trapped in a small nest without any company. But now he was free and he thought he was the same as the others. Apparently not. He had been so lost in his thoughts that he almost didn't notice when they all began to move. He could see that this journey would be more difficult than he had expected, but for now he would follow. Getting up to his feet, he followed the group, sticking close to the middle, but near the edge that he had room.
Jackie The she-cat quickly lost interest in the conversation. She didn't care which direction they went, so long as she'd be able to eat soon. She tuned out the conversation, kneading the ground and admiring her claws instead. Finally, after far too much conversation, they started to move. Tail held high, she followed, keeping a good distance from the others. She wanted no conversation.
Nimbus The big white tom watched the exchange silently. He too, wanted to help with the conversation, but he had no knowledge of the area. So he watched and listened. The cats Ash and Oak seemed to understand the situation the most, and he was impressed with how quickly the other cats joined up with them. When the group started to move, Nimbus joined in at the back. Hopefully this journey would prove to be the right decision.

Whiskers couldn't help the watering of his mouth at the mere thought of a few scraps of duck to line his belly, though his attitude was naturally a ray of positivity, even he couldn't deny that dwindling number of prey made things far less easy. Nevertheless, he hoped wherever they ended up had a bunch of ducks -- or really anything to eat. Nevertheless, despite his glee over the thought of adventure, it struck him like a rock the fact they would likely never return here again. Though his second home, he had made many memories here alongside Oak and Ash. For the first time, he felt a bit of reluctance, and though he knew the forest wouldn't have the same impact on him that it likely would Ash, he pressed against the large tom comfortingly before turning and scampering towards Oak as requested. "What do you think we'll find?" He curiously piped up, round eyes peering up at the brown tabby, each step something of a bounce. Nodding towards Copper and then Oak with an understanding that they had the rest of the group covered, The older tom stepped away to assure all the other's were prepared to move and well enough ahead of him. With an older cat and what seemed to be a pair carrying kits along, Storm would need to be vigilant and prepared to offer aid where needed. Even so, Something told him the scraggly old she cat was hardly going to put up with any of his aid. Offering a snort of annoyance at the younger cat that dared challenge her, she spat, "Learn your place, Whelp!" With a short temper, her fur bristled furiously at the cat, barely more than a kit compared to herself in age. Perhaps taking it as a blessing the cat moved away before inciting her fury any further. Scowling, she glared after Sky, deliberately holding her position longer before moving to tentatively join the group. This many moons alone had done Thorn no favors to say the least, but never the less, she would follow along reluctantly with this group -- praying to whatever ancestors presided above that she could control her own fierce temper.

Neither Moon nor Balthier decided to drop the young cats from their mouths, despite the pitiful complaining from the tortoiseshell. Berry steeled herself to it, taking a long breath before jumping at the appearance of the cat who raced up towards the cats. Just what she needed, more hyper and rambunctious kittens to scare the, well, everything out of her. Berry sighed, motioning for Moon to come forward, noticing his hesitation to approach the strange cats. "Come on, Moon. I know these cats aren't your old upwalker, but most of them are nice. You'll be alright. " Berry paused, waiting for Moon's answer, and let herself relax when she saw the silvery tom do the same.
Balthier looked around the group and noticed Oak, who was just now signaling for cats to follow him. He placed Score next to Berry and then looked to Moon and Goalie. "It seems our new friends have come to a decision. All we can do right now is follow them and see where this goes. Berry, you take Score. And Score, listen closely," The marbled tabby leaned down close, "I want you to be on your best behavior, okay? Make me proud. "

copper - mallard pointhe waited in place for a moment, looking to see who was going to travel near the front of the group. though, his attention was suddenly drawn by a rather familiar voice shouting his name. "apple!" he called back with equal excitement, racing over towards the she-cat, eyes shining as he realized that she had decided to come along as well. "i didn't think you were going to show up," and that would have made everything harder, having to leave home and all his friends behind, stepping out into the new world with these cats he had never met before. but he was given some comfort that he was not going to be alone. "come on, we don't want to get left behind," there was no time to stand around catching up, not when everyone seemed to have started moving. not wanting to let cats down, copper raced towards the middle of the group like he said he would, slowing down into a trot again, turning his head and eagerly waving apple over towards him with a wave of his tail. "come on, walk with me."
sky- mallard pointher black ears flattened just a little as the she-cat practically spat at her, but sky was quick to recover again, just giving the grumpy she-cat a wave of her tail in dismissal. she was not going to trigger any more rage from her, so it was probably best that she just kept moving with the rest of the cats and avoided her. so, she just walked after the cats as they started to trail out, silently taking a position near the rear end of the group, hopefully where there was going to be less cats who might want to have a conversation with her. and the slower pace might be nice to stick to, while she was young and could keep up with the head of the group quite easily if she wanted to- she simply didn't want to.

Taking up the rear as promised, Storm caught the brief spat from the old she-cat and soon realized he would due best not to cross her path. Nevertheless, he turned attention to the pair with the kits, knowing well that they would likely be among the slowest. With that in mind he padded towards the two, careful to show he meant no harm with a light dip of his head in greeting. "I'll be following up the group," He began, his amber eyes soft as he glanced over each of them, "If you need any help, feel free to ask. I know kits can be a bit of a handful." the gray tom finished in a purr, a smile crossing his face. He then glance back at the group that was beginning to move out, "There are a few prickly fellows, but despite appearances, I believe we have a good group of cats here." Storm added, as if to offer some comfort to the two cats, as if aware how frightening it might have been to approach strangers with such vulnerable bundles of fur. Despite her age, Thorn's age failed to show in her relatively swift steps that lead her more towards the center of the group, though she kept a far girth between her and the other cats. Her intent seemed fully insistent upon keeping away from these strangers despite travelling with them. She had little love for the hotblooded youths she had no choice but to accompany, if only for the sake of surviving the crisis the forest had fallen to. After all, as much as she hated it, Prey was indeed scarce, and even with her strength... One couldn't squeeze water from a stone.

Olly looked around excitedly as he traveled towards the middle of the group. The tom began to look around at the cats nearby him and offered a small smile to Mint as he saw the she-cat racing over to the traveling group. He chuckled a little and tilted his head. “Almost missed out huh?” He asked in a friendly yet teasing manner. Despite seeing a couple less than kindly cats around, Olly was up-beat as ever.
---
Rain, Snowy and Raccoon all hung towards the back of the group. The young cats kept close together as if afraid someone would attack them if they weren’t careful. Rain was especially on alert. Her eyes kept shifting around at the cats nearest to her. The small and scarred she cat narrowed her gaze when the group of Moon and the others joined. She pinned her ears back and gave looks of warnings to those nearby.
Snowy looked down at her paws as she walked, seeming to avoid looking at others. Raccoon, however, smiled and looked ahead with a bright gaze.
---
Ash was partially grateful for the comforting gesture for Whiskers. He gave the young tom a small nod before focusing his gaze ahead.
“I’m not sure.” Oak admitted to Whiskers with a small shrug. “Hopefully a forest filled with prey and far from two-legs!” He mused hope. The brown tabby was trying his best not to focus on all they were leaving behind as he worried he'd be swept up in the fond memories he had of the forest. So instead, he tried to focus on what lied ahead. “Looks like we’ll have to get through the grassy meadow first though... I’m going to miss the shade of the trees.” Oak sigh, flicking the grass as he padded onward.
---
Apple grinned up at her friend. “Well, I’m here now!” She chirped. Energy blazed in the she-cat’s brown eyes. She had been skeptical about leaving behind the two-leg place she had grown so used to but now with the ties of her past cut, she was ready to venture out into the unknown and luckily she’d have a friend along the way. Apple followed Copper over towards the middle of the group and soon fell in step besides him. She looked around at the group of cats in awe. “There’s so many cats here...” She breathed. She hadn’t realized this many cats had been living in the woods.

Despite not sharing the blood of a family, Whiskers greatly cared for the older toms, and perhaps this was what drove him to offer the simple forms of comfort and affection.. and perhaps that bright cheery attitude even through the tough times. Though the adventure might be fun, he wasn't fool enough not to understand it would be difficult, perhaps for everyone including the cats he considered brothers. Everyone was leaving behind something.. Home, perhaps friends or family that chose to remain behind. It wasn't such a simple venture and yet he somehow felt exhilerated by it, the unknown plastered out before them. "That sounds great! I'll catch enough prey for everyone once we get there! I bet everyone will be friends by then too..!" he exclaimed with that almost sickeningly sweet optimism filling his tone as he bounced along at Oak's side. Even so he felt somehow overwhelmed by the sheer number that had appeared, and perhaps still not so sure about the prickly cats that seemed anything but intent on friendliness. Nevertheless, he wanted to believe things would work out eventually, after all, they had all been living in this area for so long.. it felt long overdue in a way.

Whiskers didn't seem so sure, but didn't figure any point in arguing, after all, he was pretty quick to believe his brothers naturally. Nevertheless, he wanted to believe even more that the majority would soon develop friendships among each other, and he'd happily be at the forefront of that. If they had all chosen to remain in the group, even if out of necessity, there was a chance for them. However, Oak's comment earned a purr from the ginger, "It's really neat that we're all travelling together, though, isn't it? I don't think I've ever seen so many cats in one place." It was still hard to believe this many could all live in the same area and never meet -- at least he didn't recognize anyone off the top of his head. Bouncing ahead a bit, he let the older cats speak to each other, no more sure of how far this journey would lead them than they were. Even with all his enthusiasm, though, he hoped it wouldn't be too long, the sound of Ash's belly reminding Whiskers all too clearly that part of this journey was because of food shortage. However with the grassland ahead, he wondered what kind of prey they could even find out there. "I hope the ancestors pless us with a pile of mice!" From her distance, Thorn cast a side glance toward a newcomer, eyes narrowing in a suspicious glare as the cat known as Bone, as if somehow more annoyed with yet another attendee of the already far too large group -- in her opinion anyway. Even so she said nothing, but her suspicious glance remained for several more moments before shifting away.

Bandit The small tom watched the others with genuine curiosity. It seemed like quite a few of them knew each other. He felt a small pang of envy at the sight. The idea of this journey was daunting enough, but at least having a friend would make the whole thing more bearable. Maybe he'd make a few friends along the way. Shaking his head, he focused on the path before them.
Jackie Jackie watched the confrontation between the two she-cats with a look of disdain. She had been excited at the prospect of getting to spend some time with some other females. Had been, being the key word. Now she was just disappointed. The younger cats were, as usual, frustrating to be around. She put a few tail lengths of distance between herself and them.
Nimbus The white tom watched the others from the back. The pair with the kits caught his attention quickly. It had been a long time since he'd seen any kits, and he couldn't help but wonder if they'd be able to handle the journey. He would have gone to offer his help, but another cat rushed over before he could. Shrugging it off, he instead spotted another white cat. He matched his pace with hers, and flicked his tail in greeting. "What do you think about all this?"

☆ Update time ☆ Now that we’re getting this rp on the move, I was thinking of the first challenge the cats will face on this journey, aside from the basic trying to get along and so on. This won’t take place right away since I think everyone needs a little time to have their characters interact with each other for a little while longer. But still, I figure we need to know where this is heading. So, below are a couple plot ideas that you can vote for on the poll above. I will also put these plots up on the front page so they are easy to find in case you wish to refer back to them.
➥ Bad Apples : This kind of intertwines with the idea of conflict among the cats but at a bigger scale. There’s a large group of ambitious and greedy rogues who see this journey as a chance to seize power and a large amount of territory in the future. They know they have to act fast before alliances between the cats begin to fully develop. So as the cats are still figuring out where they stand with each other, these rogues will swoop in to take full control, threatening to kill or chase off those that don’t comply. Thus, team work will be needed to take back control and cast out these violent cats.
➥ Trespassing :
This plot centers around the grassy meadow being a fairly unexplored area, leading cats to find out the true danger that lies here. While the cats ruled the forest, a small pack of coyotes rule the meadow. They’ve been living off rabbits and have rarely felt the need to venture off into the forest to hunt the cats or their prey. However, with the cats venturing deep into their territory, the coyotes might be tempted to try and grab a couple for a good meal. The cats will soon learn that there is a great safety in numbers.
➥ Hunger Games : I’m sorry I had to name it this XD. So while I figuring out plot idea, I soon realized that I didn’t chose a season for when this is all taking place. So, this plot is based on the hardships of leaf-bare as they cats are already short on prey. A day or two into the journey and already things are beginning to prove more difficult than expected. Though they have not faced any enemies, they have discovered things are very harsh amongst a group of relative strangers. Despite the efforts of some cats to make sure everyone is fed, it simply isn’t enough. Kitty-pets aren’t learning fast enough and cats are becoming more greedy with their catches. Others are beginning to grow too weak and the threat of illness is on everyone’s mind. Something must be done quickly to ensure the survival of the cats. This plot could involve the early development of apprenticeship (as the kitty-pets are learning too slow due to lack of one on one training), medicine cats (the future medicine cat could show off some skill with herbs and what not), and patrols (it could be instituted as a way to increase the amount of prey caught). My only issue is that I worry it might be a little too early to begin this plot! If it’s not selected, it will be up for the next plot poll.

copper"you should have come sooner," copper purred in amusement, looking over at his kittypet friend, "what would have happened if we left without you?" he wouldn't have liked that, but he knew he couldn't have convinced the rest of the group to stay and wait for any longer just to wait for apple to arrive, seeing as he wasn't even sure if she was going to. but, he was pleased that she was here now and he wasn't going to have to go at this all by himself. he was silent for awhile as he walked near the middle of the group, making sure that everyone was keeping up before his eyes turned back to apple. "i didn't expect this many to show up," he admitted after a moment, "i thought only a couple of us was going to listen. this is a much bigger number than i expected."
