@borderline
(Also don't worry about forcing yourself to keep this length if you don't know what to write. I've been struggling a bit to keep up with this since I'm still getting back into cats and they aren't as natural for me as people)
Even if Littlepaw wasn't a huge fan of his warrior training, he did want to do good. He didn't want to disappoint his mentor and he definitely didn't want to give anyone else a reason to ridicule him. He was already afraid of that and wasn't sure why he'd want to give them any more ammo. So when he learned that Greyfox was good at something he struggled with, the young apprentice realized he'd be stupid not to leap at the chance to practice a little bit with him. Plus, the fish tasted surprisingly good to the young tom, so he wouldn't mind catching more to help feed the clan. He knew the queens and elders would be getting hungry eventually and he was proud to help feed them. It wasn't that long ago that he was a kit in the nursery and he knew how much his mother appreciated the fresh prey brought in by the apprentices.
"What makes fishing claws different than normal claws?" he asked, tilting his head slightly to the side. He'd never heard of cats having different kinds of claws and suddenly worried he'd missed out on some kind of lesson. He looked down at his own claws. What kind of claws did he have, he wondered, not realizing that Greyfox's 'fishing claws' were normal cat claws. In fact, this is just one thing that worries him. What if he had the wrong kind of claws? What if his claws weren't good enough to be a warrior and he was sent to the elders den? It may be surprising, but Littlepaw wouldn't like that either. Especially because he wouldn't have earned that spot and nobody would have a reason to respect him.
The thought made him sad.
He tried to think of something else and looked down at the remains of the fish Greyfox had shared with him. "That was good," he said, poking it with a paw and finishing up the last few bites. He licked his lips and looked at the older warrior. "I never ate fish before. I like rabbits," he said. It was his favorite prey, but it was something else he struggled to kill. Mice and squirrels were what he was best at hunting, so he was just glad that they weren't hard to come across in the clan's territory. At least he wasn't completely useless, which had been his first worry when he'd become an apprentice. What did the clan do with useless warriors? He'd been terrified that he would end up exiled or something. Luckily, he wasn't useless and now he was smart enough to know that that was probably not what would happen to him if he was. He'd probably just be an apprentice until he learned how to do something of use to the clan.
Littlepaw nodded, feeling relieved when Greyfox agreed. He'd seen Ashdapple was in a conversation and hadn't wanted to bother the warrior. He'd already run into Greyfox so he figured it wouldn't be bothering him exactly if he asked to go out fishing with the warrior. "Good," Littlepaw said with a nod. "I never really tried fishing, but I didn't think I'd be any good at it. Rabbits are hard too, but I can catch mice," he said. There was more he could catch. He was actually a decent hunter and brought prey back to the clan almost everytime he went out hunting with his mentor, a patrol, or other apprentices. Hopefully he'd be able to catch a few things and impress Greyfox. Well, maybe not impress him. He was sure the warrior had seen much more impressive things. But instead, he hoped to show that he could hunt.
Littlepaw was a surprisingly decent fighter too. He was weak and his moves didn't pack much strength, but he was quick and small, allowing him to maneuver around the battlefield with grace and speed. He had the element of surprise and getting in hits when his bigger and slower opponents couldn't stop him. If he only he was a little stronger, Littlepaw could see himself becoming a good fighter. He was definitely more healthy than when he was a kit, but he'd already been restricted to the medicine cat den once or twice during his apprenticeship. He hoped that him being sick often didn't affect his chances at becoming a good warrior. It was one of the many fears that plagued him every night when he tried to fall asleep.
Again, he tried to push the thoughts away as he looked at Greyfox. "Well, uh, shall we go?" The tension had somewhat begun to leave his little body when he saw that the older warrior wasn't as scary as he'd originally thought. He still hesitated, however, and looked towards the entrance to the camp. "Uh, where should we go? Do you want to lead the way?" He still wasn't sure where the best hunting spots were and he wouldn't even know where to start when it came to fishing and where one would have luck. All he knew was that a source of water would be helpful when it came to catching fish.

stormstar replying to smokeclaw leader's den
He wasn't surprised at all by Smokeclaw's request. Smokeclaw was a hardworking and loyal cat and he was a good warrior despite his seriousness. Stormstar could understand him, since he was basically the same. He respected Smokeclaw for that and he felt a strange urge telling him that perhaps Swiftwing was the wrong choice. It went away quickly after he reassured himself, "No, Swiftwing is a good warrior who loves our clan as much as I do."
Stormstar examined the injury from what he could see. It looked better than before, so that was a relief. It wouldn't get in the way too much. He wondered if being injured like that would make Stormstar respected less. Of course, he wasn't crazy enough to try it. It was a dumb idea, really. His analysis and interpretation of cats was strange. He felt as if any wrong move would damage his reputation even if there was no way, since he was their leader. He just hoped nothing bad would happen to him soon. As much as he struggled to socialize with other cats, he still loved Mistclan.
"No worries, I wasn't really doing much," Stormstar replied, "You could go fishing, but I wouldn't recommend any large fish for now. That way, you could provide for our clan without hurting yourself too much. Just use the left paw if you can. You could also try to repair some of the dens. The recent rain tore a hole through the apprentice's den. It's not too much of a problem but it should be fixed anyways. There's also herbs. You could try collecting some for Hazelshadow." His seemingly emotionless answer came out quite smoothly without many pauses, despite all that he said.
Like Smokeclaw, Stormstar was sort of restless at the moment. Socially, he was worn out. Physically, he was fine and wanted to get back out there to provide for his clan. He saw a good chance here and asked, "Whatever you do, could I tag along? I have nothing to do right now." It was sort of weird for him to be saying that, since he always appeared to be a busy and elegant cat. It was usually other cats asking him to join them. He wasn't sure how he could join him, since the damaged den would only need one cat to fix. The only part of that that could need two cats is the gathering of supplies. Plus, he was pretty sure Maplerose was already helping Hazelshadow out with herbs. Maybe they could go fishing and then try to repair the den. Oh well, he was sure he'd figure it out after Smokeclaw made his choice.

"Great, then, Sootleg." Voleclaw turned his attention to the other cat, racking his brain on what he had seen that day. It had been like any other, yet some cats would indeed claim that interesting things had happened. "In my opinion, it was quite average. Nothing new." "Sister, please." Sootleg said in a harsh voice with a spec of kindness. "Stop being such a mousedung" Thistlevine replied simply overlooked her brother words like they but wind. "Wait-Voleclaw you did heard any strange noise."Sootleg turn added on to what his sister was saying. He kept his head up and back straight and tail at attention. "We heard strange noises on patrol.I'm suprise you didn't."

(I get an apprentice? So quickly! Yass!!) Frostwhisker gasped as the realization hit her. Snowshoe was a rogue? This rogue was her mother? What was this trickery? Frostwhisker took a few steps back, trying to process this all in her mind. She took deep breaths, trying to regain herself. "What?" Frostwhisker started, still shocked and surprised about the whole thing. "Snowshoe...You're a rogue? Why didn't you tell us eariler?" Frostwhisker had so many questions swirling around in her mind, too many too answer. โIโm part, my father is dead, so is my mother, I didnโt think thorn was aliveโ she confessed. Thorn snarled โhow dare you think Iโm dead!โ โ thorn, Iโm sorryโ she said the looking to the other warrior โI never called her my kitโ she said.

Frostwhisker shook her head in confusion as all the questions came barreling at her. Frostwhisker hung her head as she realized what she had to do, where her duty must lie. I have to tell my clan leader, if I don't I'll be betraying my clan...But then Showshoe will be banished...Oh Starclan, what do I do? Frostwhisker picked up her head and sighed. "You know I'll have to tell Stormstar." Sighed Frostwhisker, her heart aching with the urge to keep this secret just between them, but she knew she couldn't, she couldn't betray the trust of her clan.

Frostwhisker nodded and dipped her head sympathecticly. From now on, it was going to be very hard for her poor friend. They both walked to the camp in silence, dragging their paws as if they truly, in their hearts, wanted to run away and forget about the whole ordeal. Frostwhisker trudged up to Stormstar in the camp, her head hung low. She signaled Snowshoe to follow her, now was the time. Frostwhisker opened her mouth to speak but nothing could come out. She didn't want to hurt Snowshoe and her mother. She wanted them to stay safe and in the clan, but that probably wouldn't happen. If she was leader, she wouldn't allow such a treachery to happen. Finally, Frostwhisker found her voice. "Stormstar." Frostwhisker dipped her head in a sort of bow, she wanted to be polite with her leader. "Snowshoe has some news to report." Frostwhisker stepped back as she allowed Snowshoe to take her place in front of Stormstar.

stormstar replying to frostwhisker and snowshoe mistclan camp
ย ย ย ย "What is it?" Stormstar pulled away from his meal of rabbit to look up at the approaching she-cats and a random rogue he had never seen before. His tail curled next to his belly and he licked his lips to clear them of rabbit blood. His gaze softened upon seeing his daughter, Frostwhisker. He murmured, "Y-you don't need to bow like that, Frostwhisker. I'm your father after all."
ย ย ย He didn't seem to care too much about the rogue at the moment, as Mistclan was a collection of rogues. If it was a new joiner, he would have to assess her and make sure she wasn't a threat. If she was an enemy to their clan then he would have to teach her a lesson. The rogue's potential aggressiveness seemed to be contained by his two clanmates so he didn't worry all that much about the possibility of being attacked.
(oh idk if i listed it on the joining page or not but stormstar is frostwhisker's father)
โStorm star, this is by daughterโ she said very fast hoping he didnโt hear โmother?โ Questioned thorn โwhy are you doing thisโ she asked โsilenceโ said snowshoe to her kit.

beefsmoothieSmokeclaw never actually told anyone what had happened to his shoulder and he'd told the other cats he'd been with to keep their mouths shut. He'd slipped on a rock while fishing and had banged his shoulder on something, cutting it open and doing something to the bone or muscle or whatever. He didn't know. He wasn't into medicine Cat stuff. He preferred to be on the front lines, hunting and defending his clan with his life. Anyway, the injury had been so embarrassing that the tom had made up a story about getting in a fight with a rogue on their territory. He had been embarrassed about such an ungraceful tumble. He should probably tell Stormstar what had really happened so the leader wasn't thinking they had aggressive strangers closing in on camp but he decided now would not be the best time when he was asking his leader what he could do to help the clan, even in his injured state. Though he did believe the leader would understand why he'd hidden the real cause of his injury. As the leader, Stormstar was under even more pressure than Smokeclaw to keep a perfect image. When the other tom was done inspecting his shoulder, Smokeclaw relaxed slightly. He had been worried that Stormstar would point out some nearly invisible flaw and restrict Smokeclaw to camp for even longer. While he knew the leader wasn't a medicine Cat, he still assumed the tom was more knowledgeable than him - especially when it came to matters like this. Some tension was visibly released from his body as Smokeclaw relaxed and let out another yawn. Oops. That was embarrassing. Hopefully Stormstar wouldn't say anything about it. Smokeclaw nodded when Stormstar said he hadn't been doing much. That was a relief. He'd feel horrible if he'd pulled the leader from important business. When his options were listed, Smokeclaw nodded for a moment and thought them through. "Fishing would definitely be useful. We can always use more prey," he said. That was also something that would be easier for him to monitor. If his shoulder started to act up, he could head back to camp and rest for a bit. Fixing dens would also be useful, though Smokeclaw was never one for doing maintenance. He could, of course. The last thing they needed was Apprentices falling ill due to rain or wind that entered their den through the hole. And medicine cats were the backbone of any clan. He would hate to have them get low on herbs and be unable to save his injured or sick clanmates. Smokeclaw thought over his options for a moment. "I'm good with anything. Is there anything you would classify as the most urgent?" he asked. Any way that the tom could make himself useful would be nice. So he figured he'd deal with the most urgent of those options first. When he heard Stormstar's offer to tag along, the warrior was surprised. He hid it well, only a slight widening of his blue eyes could tell of his surprise. "Of course, Stormstar. I would love that," he said with a small smile. He'd really always appreciated their leader and wanted to do what he could to impress him. Maybe this was Smokeclaw's chance to get to know him better and impress a cat that had always amazed him. "In that case, I would be up for fishing? It'd be a bit more relaxing. However, if you have any preference or urgency in a different job, I'd be perfectly happy to do that as well." His tail swept back and forth as the muscular tom climbed to his feet. (Sorry of its a bit eh and kinda short. I'm not exactly feeling the greatest right now)

Frostwhisker winced as the straightforward answer wrung out of Snowshoe's mouth, loud and clear. She knew it was what the warrior had to do, but she couldn't help but feel hurt inside, as if something had jabbed her heart. She fought the urge to beg Stormstar to let Snowshoe stay, let her and her mother be safe. Frostwhsiker felt worried at what her father would say. Hopefully he might understand that it wasn't Snowshoe's fault that all of this happened. Frostwhisker knew she probably couldn't say anything in the matter though, as she knew so little.
