Spiritpaw flinched as she heard a mew, Oh god, she was noticed, wasn't she? She looked at the cat who approached her, "I-I'm..okay! Nothing t-to worry about!" She weakly mewed and deeply gulped, Is it a good idea to tell her what happened? But what if she tells Graymoon about this? She turned pale as the thought hunts her.

Ashwing nodded firmly, shuffling her pelt to clear away the creeping feeling of embarrassment still lingering there. “Good,” she replied, dipping her head to her apprentice before turning respectfully to her leader. “Is there anything else we can do, Graymoon? Should I organize a patrol to investigate this spot when we get back to camp?”
“Great!” Flamefrost purred cheerfully, digging her claws more deeply into the bark and carefully beginning to maneuver herself between the branches. Halfway down the tree, she twisted and leaped to the ground, landing lightly with her tail waving. “Hurry up, slowpoke!” She teased.

[I'll just open up a new post, anyone is free to interact with Ashcloud of course ovo]
With his trip to the medicine den complete, and his fur good as new -- er -- mostly, Ashcloud returned to the clearing of the camp, his target the freshkill pile. Although his hunting trip had gone awry, despite bringing back something at least, he was starving and not quite ready to face another bur incident. Additionally, he would rather eat before he tried to wash the mouse bile, the scent thankfully disguised under the scent of lavender graciously provided by Silverfern, from his coat. Lifting a mouse from the pile, the tom scooted towards a comfortable area in the clan's center before laying down and making himself comfortable, dropping his meal at his feet. He couldn't help but glance towards the apprentice's den, where a couple of apprentice's seemed to be talking, although one seemed a bit frazzled, his head tilting lightly for a moment. Being an apprentice could be awful tough, though perhaps it wasn't his place to assume. He simply turned his attention to his meal, digging into the soft body greedily.

When he was a few tail lengths from the ground he leaped off, landing squarely on his paws. Giving his fur a shake he padded around the tree to FlameFrost. "Where do you want to hunt?"

"Anywhere," Flamefrost replied, tossing her head to shake free a few twigs that had caught in her fur during her descent. She paced a small circle across the snow, testing its thickness beneath her paws, and teasing crept into her voice: "I've already dragged you down from that beautiful view up there, so why don't you choose?"

Cherrykit blinked at Snowheart, tilting his head to the side in confusion. "But elders have to be fed first! So you deserve the best prey in all the territory we have," he mewed, flicking his tail side to side. That was how it was meant to work, wasn't it? Maybe when he had a mentor he'd be able to ask and see what he could do to be an even better apprentice.

"Ahaha, I wouldn't say I deserve the BEST prey in ALL the territory..." Snowheart laughed softly as he sat down, curling his tail neatly around his front paws. The elderly cat looked down warmly on Cherrykit.
"You are a very passionate and thoughtful young kit... I don't doubt you'll make an exceptional apprentice... I am sure your mother will agree..." he purred.

RunePool thought for a moment, his gaze wandering across the territory in front of him. His tail tip was flicking side to side as a breeze whistled past them. "Let's try to forest then"

"O-okay, i'll tell you.. and that's a g-great idea.." She mewed nodding before shakily walking to the apprentice's den, going for the back, because she's paranoid someone might come and overhear their conversation. She sat down when she found a comfortable spot, "W-Well.. it's a small problem, but it's that.. i lost a prey and i feel like everycat is going to-" She started sobbing again.

“I’ll get right on it,” Ashwing replied, dipping her head again before turning—her wide paws moving swiftly across the soft snow—and heading toward camp. She flicked her tail, indicating that Sparrowpaw should follow behind her.
(Does anyone want to be on a patrol when Ashwing gets back? :3)
“Sounds good,” Flamefrost purred, flicking her tail once as she turned her paws toward the forest and began to walk. She moved slowly at first, as if her legs were unused to being so close to the ground and her whole body was poised to soar back to the trees. She paused to wait for Runepool. “I hope the prey is out,” She chattered.

Sparrowpaw sighed, drooping his head and followed after Ashwing. Great job, Sparrowpaw. Talking back to your LEADER of all things and not doing what your mentor says, while also neglecting your training just because you felt a little claustrophobic. Ohh, you'll make a FINE warrior! Really! Great job! GREAT JOB!
The young apprentice didn't say anything as they padded back to camp. He was honestly too afraid to speak. What he was afraid of, exactly, he wasn't quite sure. However, after being silent for a long time, he finally piped up.
"U-uh..." he started. Great way to start. "Um...Ashwing? I, uh...I'm sorry. F-for how I acted back there. Guess I got a little...excited."
(( Sparrowstar? That's a mighty leap! XD ))

(Oops, my bad! xD)
Ashwing's steps stilled, and she slowly glanced over her shoulder at Sparrowpaw—having been careful to keep a few steps ahead of the tom as they navigated back to camp. She considered him silently for a moment, scanning his stance for any clear indications of an insincere apology, then shook her head softly. "I think you did," she remarked, her tone coated with her usual wryness but not wholly unkind. She opened her mouth and sighed. "I just don't know what got into you. Why haven't you been training?"

Sparrowpaw froze in his step for a split second, uneasiness prickling at his fur. How was he supposed to answer that? He managed to avoid being asked that for a while, but his luck had to run out at some point. Mouse-dung! He should have prepared for that question! The young tom coughed nervously.
"Guess I was feeling a little...uh..." Sparrowpaw searched his brain for any plausible reason as to why he would not practice his hunting or his fighting. "....lazy! Yeah, I was feeling really lazy lately. Guess I still couldn't get over the fact that my kithood is now over!" Well, he's not entirely lying.

Ashwing narrowed her eyes, her attention snagging on Sparrowpaw’s stilted explanation. When her surveillance failed to miraculously pull an answer out of the air, she shook off her suspicion and turned back to the path. Apprentices will be apprentices, I guess...Starclan help me. She snorted to herself as she began to walk again. “Well, you’ll have to fix that. You can’t serve your clan if you’re not willing to put in the work. You do want to serve your clan, don’t you?”

He hesitated.
"Of...of course!" Sparrowpaw tried to put in as much offense into his voice as he could. If his own mentor got suspicious of him, then everything would come crashing down. His secret would be found out, and he's pretty sure he'd be in major trouble.
"I'm appalled you would even think I DIDN'T want to! I get it's because I've been neglecting my training, but do you really have THAT little faith in me? I'm hurt! And shocked! And...appalled. Hurt and shocked and appalled!"

“All right then,” Ashwing replied, backing off. Well, at least he’s eager...that’s a good start. She shook her head, her suspicions fading to a dull buzz in her ears as the familiar entrance of camp stretched toward the sky again. “We’re back,” she remarked, twitching an ear at Sparrowpaw. “I’d suggest you go see if the elders or the queens need anything.”

[ bumblingbee sorry for the delay! Had a lack of muse and then didn't spot the reply when I caught up the other day. ] Cherrykit purred in delight. "I'll be the best apprentice in the entire Clan forever and ever!" he declared, looking around the camp with his fur bushed up, making him look almost as big as a warrior. "I'll catch all the best prey, and fight in every battle, and always win," he told Snowheart. He settled at a sharp look from his mother, fur flattening. "Or... I'll try to."

Sparrowpaw sighed in defeat.
"Yes, Ashwing..." With that, he padded on ahead and entered the cave's entrance. He left out a sigh again, feeling a little dejected. Okay, he was feeling an IMMENSE amount of dejection. The young tom still can't shake off the embarrassment for what he did earlier. Good grief, he's such a mouse-brain!
"Alright... let's get this over with..." he said quietly to himself. Sparrowpaw lifted his gaze and looked over at Snowheart, the Clan's elder, and Cherrykit, the son of Blossomfeather. Oh good! The two cats he has to focus on temporarily. He hopes.
-----
Snowheart only purred in amusement, flicking the tip of his tail.
"I admire your enthusiasm and confidence, Cherrykit..." he said with a small smile. His smile, however, faded almost as soon as he said it and a more serious expression crept upon his face.
"But you must always keep those two traits of yours in check... If you allow yourself to be arrogant and naive, you will become blind to what truly matters... The skills you'll learn through passing moons are there not to show off, but to protect and serve your Clan...including your loved ones..."
Snowheart went silent. He then quickly shook his head and looked down on Cherrykit nervously. Oh, foolish old cat! What are you doing, dropping this kind of thing on a poor, innocent kit?! What are you trying to do, scare him away from being an apprentice?
"Cherrykit, I do apologize for that...!" he quickly apologized. "It's good to see a kit as energetic and committed as you are... Please forget everything I had just said... I am just a foolish cat with many foolish things to say..." The elderly cat let out a soft laugh to try and lighten up the mood.(( Don't worry about it, mate!! It's all good ))

Finishing up his light meal, Ashcloud rose to his paws as he licked any remnants of the mouse from his maw before giving his pelt an abrupt shake to remove any dust from his fur. Satisfied, he shot another curious glance towards the apprentice's den but let it be, Apprentices would be apprentices and he wasn't quite ready to pester young Hawkpaw for training. Whether that was a genuine act of letting the apprentice be for the day, or his own laziness and concerns of being a mentor to start with was anyone's guess. Nevertheless, he was done eating and it wouldn't hurt to work off that tasty treat -- he may have been large and lazy but he wasn't ready to add fat to that list. His whiskers twitched as he caught sight of the deputy herself returning, his ears angling towards her curiously before he padded towards the she-cat, dipping his head in greeting. "Good day, Ashwing, What are you up to, oh great deputy?" He asked, His tone friendly and cheerful, if not bearing that characteristic playfulness.
(I'd like to get Ashcloud in on that patrol action, heh ovo)

Ashwing blinked, the barest traces of surprise flickering across her face as Ashcloud’s voice broke the delicate lattice of thought and preoccupation that had enclosed her within her mind. She shook the feeling off quickly, tugging herself back to the present. “Oh, good afternoon,” she replied, dipping her head in greeting. “Graymoon and I just returned from a hunting trip. I could actually use you on a patrol, if you’re available; we found an odd scent that she asked me to investigate further.”

Whiskers giving a brief twitch, the large warrior couldn't mask the brief curiosity that flashed in his golden eyes but said nothing about the deputy's initial distracted behavior. She certainly had a lot more on her plate than him at any rate and to that Ashcloud felt not even the slightest envy. After all, he could barely handle the idea of being a mentor in a collected fashion, a whole clan to contend with sounded well beyond the capabilities of the common warrior. At least if the common warrior was like himself. Nevertheless, he gazed at Ashwing attentively as she spoke, tail swaying behind him lazily. A simple patrol didn't sound too bad, even if there was a scent they'd be tracking on the way, he liked to think it still wouldn't be anything too troublesome. "Sounds like you've had a busy day so far." Ashcloud paused to flash a cheery expression, "I've nothing else to do so, I'll be happy to accompany you."

Ashwing felt her shoulders sag slightly at Ashcloud's obervation, and she allowed herself a small, somewhat exhausted smile as the tip of her apprentice's tail disappeared into one of the dens. One matter closed, at least. Devoid of that particularly unpleasant responsibility for the moment, the gray she-cat fixed her amber eyes more directly on her partner in conversation. "Oh, it had been," she replied, adding a grateful dip of her head. "But I'm glad you're available. We'll leave as soon as I can find another cat or two to join us." The tip of Ashwing's tail twitched as she glanced around the clearing again, searching for other aimless souls that she might be able to rope into coming along. Three or four of us should be plenty, seeing as we didn't actually seethe source of the scent. Still, you can never be too careful... She shook her head, loosing a sharp sigh under her breath; organizing patrols had never been her favorite part of her duties, but it came with the job. "Do you know of anyone else who might be willing to accompany us?" She asked.

Ashcloud couldn't help but offer an expression of sympathy towards the deputy, But following her gaze to the apprentice den he was getting some idea where one of her troubles might be. Apprentices could be trouble at the best of times, let alone when buried with duties and as a deputy no less. The large tom certainly wasn't taking his lazy lifestyle for granted at this point. "Anything to help and all that. I mean, within reason, everyone would think I was sick if I got too motivated." he replied in that jovial manner of his, planting his bottom on the ground as he spoke to the she-cat. Of course, he had no idea what they'd be going after but he wasn't one to dwell on the more negative aspects of a mystery patrol. Unmotivated as he was, his size DID give a nice advantage in intimidation and battle so he was hardly worried about even that, although he hoped for Ashwing's sake it didn't come to that. However, at the inquiry he blinked somewhat blankly for a moment, his head tilting a wee bit to the side as if somehow taken off guard by the question "Well..." he began, searching for some answer, but sadly lacking on the knowledge of who was even still IN camp. After all, he had spent the morning hunting and then ended up in the medicine cat's den when he returned due to a burr incident. In fact, the only cat's he'd made note of out and about were a few apprentices, a kit, and an elder. However, finally he managed to pull a few warriors from his memory that he at least wasn't sure had left camp yet that day. "Windface might still be around camp, Maybe Jaymist? I also so Hawkpaw and Spiritpaw head into the apprentice den earlier I mean..." he paws briefly a playful look on his face before he finished his statement,"If were desperate."
