Sparrowpaw had intended on sneaking out of camp to look around a bit. Having another set of eyes on him would limit his chances on exploring beyond the borders, and also get into trouble for disobeying his mentor. The young tom flinched at his name being called both by his mentor and leader.
"Mousedung!" he whispered harshly. He then turned around and padded over to Ashwing, putting on the best cheerful expression he could muster to prevent suspicion. Hopefully. "Yes, Ashwing!" He stood beside her, tail swishing to and fro.
"Is there a chance we could hunt something new today? Maybe something super big?!" he asked excitedly, full of wonder and hope that they would somehow find a prey he claims to be 'super big'.

Ashwing surveyed Sparrowpaw closely, her eyes narrowing slightly. Something about his demeanor seemed...No, never mind. She shook her head, adding an unconscious flick of her tail as she brushed the thought from her mind. “We’ll see what we can find,” she replied, stifling a smile at the young tom’s enthusiasm. “You’ll just have to show me how good your tracking skills have gotten. You have been practicing, haven’t you?” She prompted, leveling a weighty gaze at Sparrowpaw.

Sparrowpaw went silent at the question, staring awkwardly at his mentor. He slowly cast his eyes to his feet and shuffled shamefully.
"I might have...been neglecting practice. A little bit..." he murmured. He wasn't entirely lying. He WAS neglecting his assigned duties, but not at all because he's lazy or didn't care. In truth, he was exploring the cave that he and the rest of the Clan is living in, trying to find anything that they may have missed or maybe a secret way out of the camp. He couldn't help feeling curious. He couldn't help the fact that he, above all else, wanted to explore every inch of his own home and the outside world.
He glanced up at Ashwing, a little nervous. "Sorry, Ashwing..."

Ashwing gazed sternly at Sparrowpaw and opened her mouth to deliver a lecture on the necessity of following orders. It was a mentor's duty, after all, to make sure her apprentice was keeping in line. Still, something twisted in her stomach at the guilt in his eyes and the thought of berating him, especially in front of Moonstar... "Just...don't let it happen again," she replied, fluffing up her stone-colored fur gruffly in an attempt to conceal the softness that she was surely letting slip. "And I will be keeping a closer eye on you." She flicked her tail, indicating the mouth of the cave. "Anyway, let's go see what you remember."

Doegaze heard the leader speaking to sparrowpaw “well good morning” she purred walking over.

(I'm seriously considering changing Moonstar's name. It just doesn't sit right with me. So, I'm now debating whether to just change the first part of the name, or change star to something else. Star doesn't fit as well anyways, because of Iceclan and all that. So far I like the idea of switching up the rules and changing the sur star to moon. Opinions?) "Good morning, Doegaze. We were just headed out to hunt. Would you like to join us?" Moonstar offered. "I can scent the prey running from here!" She purred, excited to get going. “I would love to, I just need to get out of camp” she purred to her leader

Sparrowpaw lowered his head to breathe out a quiet sigh of relief. He thought for sure he would get in trouble and be given a lecture! Thank StarClan! However, despite not being punished or berated, he still feels as if he's in trouble. Ashwing's going to be keeping a closer eye on him?! Sparrowpaw mentally cursed. How's he going to sneak out of camp if his mentor was so intent on keeping tabs on him?
"I-I'll do my best, Ashwing." he said meekly, feeling a bit intimidated by her stern gaze. He perked his ears at the sound of another cat walking to them and greeting them. He turned around to find Doegaze. Sparrowpaw purred. "Hi, Doegaze!" he greeted cheerfully. "You're gonna hunt with us? That's great! The more, the merrier!"

(I think that sounds really cool, Cloud!)
Ashwing flicked her tail at Doegaze as the warrior approached, finally pulling her gaze and attention away from Sparrowpaw enough to greet her with a polite incline of her head. "Great. Are we about ready to leave?" She prompted, glancing around at the small circle of her clanmates and mentally checking off each one. "We do want to get going before all of the prey disappears into their nests again."

Sparrowpaw looked around the small group, his ear twitching every now and then.
"I think that's everyone!" he said. The tip of his tail flicked impatiently, wanting to get out of the cave as soon as they can. "Can we go hunting now? Can we? Please please please?"
(( I really like this idea! Yeah, let's change it up a bit~! ))

"Ah, right! My...hunting techniques," Sparrowpaw said, masking his nervousness with fake confidence and bounded off after his leader. Hunting with the leader! What an honour! "Come on, Ashwing! Prey awaits!" he called over his shoulder to his mentor.
(( I like Graymoon! It makes her sound wise and very leader-like~! ))

(Yeah, I really like Graymoon, too!)
“I’m coming; don’t worry!” Shaking her head and stifling a smile, Ashwing padded after her apprentice and leader. She murmured grumpily and fluffed her thick pelt against the chilly air as she left the warmth of the sheltered cave behind, but she couldn’t stifle a mrrow of satisfaction as the cold air sharpened her senses to crystalline alertness. “Lead the way, Sparrowpaw,” she called.

The young tom nodded at his mentor's orders and lifted his head, opening his mouth slightly to drink up any scent his glands could pick up. Eventually, Sparrowpaw could pick up a scent of mouse and turned to Ashwing.
"I can smell mouse!" he said with a hint of pride in his tone of voice. "Looks like I haven't forgotten how to smell prey after all!"

Sparrowpaw hesitated on the answer for a moment. Then he puffed out his chest and lifted his muzzle, his tail high up in the air to look confident.
"Pfft, can I catch a mouse. . . Of course I can!" he replied, forcing himself to not let the uncertainty show on his face or through his voice. "I bet I'm the best hunter in MoonClan!" Okay, taking the fake confidence thing a bit far. But there's no going back on it now.

(Awesome! I'll just reply to bumblingbee's last post, then :3) Ashwing stifled a snort, shaking her head with fond derision. Her amber eyes glowed. "Go ahead; I think we all have something to learn from the greatest hunter in Moonclan," she commented wryly. In truth, she had plenty of faith in her apprentice—perhaps even a bit more than he had in himself—and his first attempt of the day didn't matter much, anyway. Still, she offered, "I'll go around the other side and in case the mouse...does anything unpredicatable."
