SEDGEPAW | Big Park/The Pond | Darkpaw @redheartofriverclan
Sedgepaw had never seen this side to her clan mate before, the side that was honest and scared and raw. This was the Darkpaw that she'd never seen, but had always imagined - small and scared and afraid of others. She stepped forward and puffed out her chest to him, "You can trust me, Darkpaw." She stated with all the confidence in the world, "Sure I'm a little crazy and we are a bit different, but I know that I can trust you and you can trust me," it was like a promise. "If you ever were to run..." She wasn't a fan of the idea of running, she loved her clanmates and her clan, even though sometimes she felt like it was unfair, "I'd be there for you." She didn't want to go against him, she just wanted him to know he could have a friend in her - she wasn't to be feared or to be unsure of.

(Yes please I'll bring in Littlepaw too but he can't deal with this on his own. Also just a heads up, I might disappear because it's like 10:30 and I'm still sick) Fogkit listened to Kestrelclaw's questions and then looked at Mistykit. He sighed and began to give his father the whole story. "We're bad kits... I'm so sorry..." he began. He watched his mother disappear into the medicine den with Jackdawstar. "We snuck out to have some fun and there was a dog... And Mistykit is blaming herself!" His words all came out in a jumbled mess as he tried to figure out what to tell his father. He was still shaking, cold and wet, but he stood beside Kestrelclaw and refused to move. Willowstorm slowly let herself fall to the ground, her leg sticking out at an awkward angle. She was glad she couldn't see Kestrelclaw from here. She wanted to see him and talk to him, but she just knew that this injury was more serious than anything she'd gotten before. She stared numbly at the ground as she waited for the medicine cat and Apprentice. Littlepaw rushed out at Jackdawstar's call and he froze when he saw Willowstorm. The leg didn't look good and there was a little blood dripping down her leg where the dog had bit her. "What happened?" he asked. When Willowstorm didn't answer, he turned his questioning gaze to Jackdawstar. aether

JACKDAWSTAR | Medicine Cat Den | Littlepaw, Pantherfang ., @redheartofriverclan
Jackdawstar stepped back and out of the way after Willowstorm was now safely in the paws of his trusted medicine cats. He felt his heart drop at the sight of her mangled hindleg, sticking out at an angle which seemed unnatural. He ducked his head and closed his eyes for a moment. Maybe if I'd been here this wouldn't have happened... he thought to himself. He'd enjoyed his time with Callie so much he'd forgotten how much his clan needed him. He looked up again when Littlepaw asked what had happened.
"Fogkit told me that he and Mistykit had left camp and fallen into some water, Willowstorm went out to save them when a dog came and attacked her. I fought it off, but not before it grabbed her leg..." He trailed off, the rest was obvious. "Can you save it?" He looked to Littlepaw, then to Pantherfang.
KESTRECLAW, MISTYKIT | Camp | Fogkit .
The stunned white tom looked towards the medicine cat den as Fogkit messily relayed the events. "A dog?" He asked softly, digging his claws into the earth. If he had stayed, would he have been able to save his mate? He looked back down to Fogkit, standing before him, then Mistykit hiding in his fur. "Are you two okay? That's all that matters now..." He bent down to give Fogkit a reassuring lick of his head, "Come here, you're shivering from cold," he swept his tail around his son to pull him close. He looked back towards the medicine cat den, wanting to rush in there and make sure Willowstorm was okay, but he figured the medicine cats would need their space, and he knew that right now his kits needed him.
Mistykit looked at Fogkit, "It is my fault..." her eyes were filled with devastation.

PantherfangβSheβll be fine,β replied Pantherfang even before she got over to Willowstorm. It was typical of her to say such a thing, though, so it fell on deaf ears. Calmly, if a little slowly, she used her whiskers and tail to look over the queen and sense where she was primarily injured. βSheβs badly injured, but she doesnβt look to be dying any time soon.β She stopped at Willowstormβs crooked, bleeding leg, and seemed to put more time into that than anything beforehand. βThe leg, though, might be injured permanently. I really canβt tell for certain, but itβs better than being blinded.β Quickly, she wrapped the wound in cobwebs. She pulled a bit at it to straighten it out, before placing a sturdy oak twig next to it and wrapping the wound again with long, dark leaves. βThis should keep the bone in the leg healing. You donβt want to mess with it much or move around; the bone is the real issue. Now, Littlepaw,β she said addressing her apprentice with unblinking scarred eyes, βhelp me out with the other wounds, and make sure we have enough cobwebs for it.β aether .

JACKDAWSTAR | Medicine Cat Den | Pantherfang, Littlepaw, Willowstorm . , @redheartofriverclan
Jackdawstar watched intently as Pantherfang looked over Willowstorm's injuries, his heart dropping to his stomach when Pantherfang mentioned it would be permanently injured. He had to get up and sit at the den entrance while the medicine cats worked, for he couldn't stomach it. If I had been here, would it have all been different? He dropped his gaze to his fluffy black paws. But, even as he thought it, he looked forward to leaving the camp tomorrow to visit Callie once more. To be in her reassuring presence and take in her sweet scent - it all made him think of a place that was peaceful. He looked towards Kestrelclaw's slumped shoulders and recalled his devastated eyes as they'd entered the camp. The whole situation made him yearn for tomorrow, he wanted to talk to Callie, to explain all that had happened, and to feel safe when she spoke softly to him. Tomorrow... he didn't even feel so bad that he wanted to be out of his clan, even if it was for selfish reasons.

Fogkit moved in close, enjoying the warmth of his father's fur. It wasn't the same as curling up next to Willowstorm when he was upset, but his father's support would have to do for now. When Mistykit said it was her fault again, Fogkit didn't reply. Maybe once they got to feeling better and they saw that Willowstorm was okay, she would forgive herself. Because Willowstorm was definitely going to be okay. She had to be. Fogkit looked at the medicine cat den before burying his face in Kestrelclaw's fur. A few seconds later he pulled away to look at his father and sister. "Lets go to the nursery and get her nest all warm and soft. It'll be a surprise for when she comes back to the nursery," he suggested. He refused to believe that his mother was badly injured. In his mind, she'd be returning to the nursery perfectly fine that day. Maybe tomorrow, if the medicine cats wanted to be safe. Fogkit refused to believe anything else. aether*** Littlepaw listened intently as Jackdawstar told him the story of what had happened to the queen. He shuddered slightly, once again glad that he'd become a medicine cat. He'd much rather heal these injuries than endure them himself. Plus the small tom was too weak to make a good warrior, at least in his mind. He stood back to watch Pantherfang do her job, slightly intimidated by the very unnatural look of the queen's leg. "Permanently?" Willowstorm repeated. She finally took a deep breath and turned her head to look at her leg. It couldn't be permanent. She'd been looking forward to returning to her warrior duties when her kits became Apprentices. She'd sleep in the same den as all of her old friends, stretch her legs every time she went on a patrol, go hunting with Kestrelclaw... She'd been looking forward to all of it and she just felt numb when Pantherfang said that could all be taken away from her. Littlepaw looked up when his mentor addressed him and he nodded. After glancing once more at Willowstorm's leg, he went to retrieve the cobwebs. They had plenty, so he began applying them to the wounds, careful not to jostle the queen's leg anymore than necessary. Willowstorm watched Littlepaw for a moment before glancing at Jackdawstar. "Jackdawstar," she began, "when Littlepaw and Pantherfang are done, do you mind watching Mistykit and Fogkit and sending Kestrelclaw in here so I can talk to him?" she asked. She wanted to make sure their kits weren't around when she told the tom what Pantherfang said about her leg possibly being permanently injured. aether @redheartofriverclan

PantherfangPantherfang nodded in approval of Littlepaw quickly before continuing. βIt might be. Thereβs a chance, anyway.β There was a small crack in Pantherfangβs voice as if it brought back memories from another time. βHopefully youβll heal, but what can I say for certain.β She chewed a small tangle of broom plants to aid the wounds, before applying the resulting poultice. βNow what you donβt want to do is put pressure on it,β she explained like some kind of war general addressing a private. βIf you donβt set your weight on it the bone should mend fine.β Pantherfang remembered most of this information not because the previous medicine cat told her, but because of the knowledge of herbs she had on the battlefield. She remembered aiding Snakeclaw when in the midst of a territory battle he had broken a leg bone, and while many of her memories of young adulthood became far-off dreams the ones where she practiced medicine in the thick of war only became more and more vivid as the moons went on. βThe limp and the scars arenβt the important part, itβs if it can be used. You should be getting off your feet in a moonβs time at the earliest.β She seemed to say the words more out of comfort than sincerity, but the real truth to what she said was only held in the rheumy reflections of her clouded eyes. aether .

KESTRELCLAW, MISTYKIT, JACKDAWSTAR | Camp | Fogkit, Pantherfang, Littlepaw, Willowstorm .
Kestrelclaw, just like Mistykit, ignored her murmurings that it was her fault. Her wide gaze and her faint presence made him think she was traumatized - she was just murmuring, but she was in shock. He looked to Fogkit and couldn't help the pride he felt despite his sadness. The young tom was trying his best to have initiative in the situation and even after the day he'd had, and Kestrelclaw admired his strength. "That sounds like a good idea," he said with a slight purr to his son. He bent and picked up Mistykit by her scruff, the young she-kit gave a little mrrw as he did, but otherwise she didn't complain. He padded into the nursery and curled himself into Willowstorm's usual nest. He placed Mistykit down beside him and looked to Fogkit, "You're very brave, Fogkit," he tried his best to smile to his kit.
He wondered how his mate was doing in the medicine cat den, he looked up to the entrance of the den. Please be okay... he thought to himself with a pang in his heart. Willowstorm was his rock - he didn't know what he'd do if she wouldn't be okay.
In the medicine cat den, Jackdawstar turned back towards Willowstorm to listen to her request. He stood up and nodded solemnly to the grey she-cat, "Of course," he dipped his head to her, then watched Pantherfang and Littlepaw. When they were near finished, he ducked out of the den to switch places with Kestrelclaw. He went straight across the camp to the nursery, he pushed his way inside and looked to Willowstorm's fluffy white mate.
"Willowstorm is ready to be seen, Kestrelclaw." He glanced down to Fogkit and Mistykiy, "I'll watch these two when you're gone," he stepped further into the den and switched places with the tom.
Kestrelclaw thanked his leader, "Stay here," he meowed to his kits and gave them both a lick on their foreheads. Then he was quick to duck out. He sprinted across the camp to the medicine cat den and pushed his way into the den. He stopped abruptly when he saw Willowstorm and her leg, which was wrapped up but still looked to be on a weird angle. Slowly, unsure, he stepped forward towards her. "Willowstorm..." his voice was hoarse with pain. He'd been so strong for his kits, but his walls tumbled down for his mate. "Oh, Willowstorm..." he stepped forward and gently pressed his nose to her head.

DarkpawA warm sense of assurance flooded Darkpaw as Sedgepaw talked. βI donβt know why I want to run even. Thereβs nothing to run from,β he said gravely, with the guilt that he had just made a fun trip to annoy geese into a deep conversation. βI like it here. LostClan is my family and I canβt imagine living like a rogue. And yet... I give nothing to it in return.β He shifted his weight, obviously thinking carefully. βMy grandmother is the medicine cat, my mother is a loyal warrior ready for anything, and my sister is a prodigy hunter. And then thereβs my only talent, ever-so-bravely turning my tail and fleeing. The Clan would be better off without me.β He shook his head and turned his mind back to the geese. βBut itβs not anything to anyone else to worry about anyway. The Clan has enough to overwhelm itself already.β

Willowstorm listened carefully to Pantherfang's words and nodded. She'd do her best to let it heal, but she didn't see how she would be able to keep her weight off of the leg, especially with her high energy kits. They might be subdued for a few days, but she had no doubt they'd be back to their normal selves in no time. Fogkit looked back to his sister, unable to keep his eyes off of her until his father spoke. He hoped Mistykit would be okay. She wasn't acting like herself and Fogkit just wanted his sister and mother back. He suddenly wished they'd never left camp and had just listened to their mother for once and behaved. He followed Kestrelclaw into the nursery and curled up in his father's warm fur. The nest still smelled like Willowstorm and he hoped she'd be back soon. He didn't know what he'd do without the she-cat. "I-I am?" Fogkit asked when his father complimented his bravery. He didn't see himself as brave, not when he had stood back and watched the dog shaking his mother by her leg. He wished there had been something he could've done. If Jackdawstar hadn't come, then he knew Kestrelclaw would've been mourning the loss of his mate and both of his kits. "When I'm big and strong I'm gonna fight any dog I see," Fogkit promised, digging his claws into the nest. He was careful not to touch Kestrelclaw or Mistykit with his sharp nails, but there was a clear mix of guilt and anger and fear in his eyes. He clearly blamed himself for this, though not as bad as Mistykit blamed herself. He hesitated before looking to Kestrelclaw. "Is there anything the medicine cats can do for Mistykit?" he asked. He knew they were busy with Willowstorm right now and she was their main priority, but maybe they could help Mistykit after. He let out a small whine when Jackdawstar entered the nursery. Was the leader coming to punish him and Mistykit for what they'd done? He moved closer to his father, trying to appear as small as possible. Part of him believed they should be punished, and part of him believed that the kits had already suffered enough. When Jackdawstar spoke, he relaxed slightly. Good. Willowstorm was still alive and Jackdawstar was more focused on that than punishing the kits. He nodded when Kestrelclaw left and didn't think that either he or Mistykit would be in a hurry to leave the den anytime soon. Once his father was gone, Fogkit turned to the leader. "Are we in trouble? For sneaking out of camp?" he asked, his voice soft. Willowstorm lifted her head when her mate entered, her heart breaking at the pain in his voice. She loved Kestrelclaw and his pain hurt her, even if he was only in pain because of what had happened to her. "How are Mistykit and Fogkit?" she asked, her voice shaking slightly. She hadn't really had a chance to check on her kits after the dog had attacked. She wanted to stay strong for Kestrelclaw, but that all faded away when he touched his nose to her head and her eyes fell closed. Littlepaw looked at the two. "I'll be, uh, outside of you need anything." The small tom dipped his head to the two older cats and left the den. "Come on, Pantherfang," he called to his mentor, wanting Willowstorm and Kestrelclaw to have privacy. There was silence for a few moments after Littlepaw left and Willowstorm sighed. She finally looked away from Kestrelclaw, at a loose piece of moss that had gotten tangled among the herbs. She didn't want to see his expression when she told him what would happen to her. "Pantherfang... she said that my leg," she hesitated, unsure of how to continue. "She said it might be permanent..." the last part was barely more than a whisper and her voice shook with despair as she spoke. "Oh, Kestrelclaw... What will I do if I can't be a warrior?" she wasn't ready to be an elder yet. aether @redheartofriverclan

JACKDAWSTAR | Nursery | Fogkit, Mistykit .
Jackdawstar looked at the two kits - Mistykit was still shivering, the pitiful she-cat clearly was suffering from some sort of trauma. He'd seen the look of fear that flashed in Fogkit's eyes too when he'd entered, so he decided to treat the kits gently for now, and later on when they had calmed he would talk to them about what had happened. He didn't plan on scolding them - clearly they had learned their lesson. So, the leader sat down and curled his fluffy black tail around Mistykit before turning his yellow gaze to Fogkit. "Mistykit will be okay - she's in shock. The medicine cats can get her some dandelion leaves to soothe it." Jackdawstar knew some basics on herbs, but only some things. He'd never been passionate about it to learn more.
"And how are you?" He asked Fogkit gently, "Are you okay?" Safety and wellness was his number one priority at that moment. "You're not in trouble, I'm just glad you both made it home okay. I will talk about it later when you two are well rested, but for now... it's fine. You don't have to worry."
KESTRELCLAW | Medicine Cat Den | Willowstorm, Littlepaw, Pantherfang
Kestrelclaw was thankful when Littlepaw and Pantherfang left, he had the tendency to feel uneasy showing his emotions around others (except his family, of course). With them outside, he left out a long sigh and sat down, curling his body around Willowstorm's as close as he could without aggravating any of her wounds. He listened intently, and closed his eyes tightly as she spoke of the news. His heart - holding on by a string - fell down and shattered into thousands of tiny pieces. "Oh, Willowstorm," his voice was so full of pain it was almost unrecognisable, "I should have been there. I should have helped - I shouldn't have left. I'm so sorry." He buried his face into her fur, taking in her scent. It calmed him somewhat, but the reality was still there. If he'd stayed she wouldn't have had to go and find the kits alone - or he could have watched them. But now... she wouldn't be able to walk properly ever again. "You will be a warrior," he managed to say. "You're the bravest warrior of them all, and soon you'll learn how to manage - soon you'll be fine again." His words sounded hopefully, but even he wasn't sure that could be true. Even he couldn't promise it, no matter how much he wanted too.
SEDGEPAW | Big Park/Pond | Darkpaw @redheartofriverclan
Sedgepaw stepped forward and shook her head. She wasn't a big cat, but with her chest puffed out and her eyes bright, she seemed larger than life. "I believe you have a place in the clan. Look at me, I'm just a troublemaker, and I'm sure sometimes Stormstrike feels like ripping his pelt out when I annoy him, but I have a place. And Snowfeather, she hates hunting and getting dirty, but she has her place. Kestrelclaw isn't much of a talker, but he always brings in prey - he has his place. We all have a place, you just need to find yours." She meowed with such confidence it was hard to not believe her words. "Nothing is a competition. We live in harmony, helping each other." Sedgepaw turned and whipped her tail playfully, then she stepped down to the pond and dipped her paws in to murky water - it turned her white paws into a brownish colour. "What do you want to do?" She asked, in reference to his place in the camp. "What do you want to prove?" She added.

[ ashfeather, that's okay! totally understandable C: a bit has happened though: Fogkit and Mistykit snuck out of camp and Fogkit tried to swim, but almost drowned. Willowstorm saved them just in time, but a dog off a leash came and attacked her - permanently disabling her back leg. Luckily Jackdawstar was on his way back from his misadventure with Callie and was able to help fight the dog off. They've all returned to camp, but the kits are in shock and Willowstorm now has to come to terms with the fact she'll never be the same again. ]

EAGLESTRIKE | Big Park | Snowfeather
Eaglestrike took a deep breath, taking in all the scents around him. She was right; despite the constant presence of the monsters' fumes, there were little other alarming scents in the air, and the afternoon sun sent a soft warmth over the park. There were a couple of Twolegs wandering around, but they paid no interest to the two cats and made no move to disturb them. It truly was a peaceful day, and Eaglestrike found himself relaxing slightly because of it. Not that he let his guard done completely; the city held all sorts of dangerous surprises.
"Yeah, it's certainly quiet," Eaglestrike mused, a faint smile on his face. And then he was all business again. She had said she wanted to train a little, so that would be what they'd do. He always stuck to his word. "Did you want to train now then?" he asked once he had finished.

Fogkit saw Mistykit wrapped with Jackdawstar's tail and he went to join her when he saw that they weren't going to be in trouble. He pressed his small body into the leader's fur, closing his eyes. Normally he'd be terrified to get this close to Jackdawstar and treat him like a parent, but Fogkit needed the comfort and warmth and his parents were both out of the nursery right now. He nodded. "I hope Mistykit is okay... It wasn't her fault... It was both of us," he said, unable to meet Jackdawstar's eyes. Instead he looked at the dirt. Fogkit was slightly surprised to hear the question. Was he okay? Well, for the most part he was. So he nodded. "I'm just really cold and wet and sad and scared," he said. He let out a long sigh and wished his mother was with him instead of the clan leader. When Jackdawstar said they weren't in trouble, Fogkit visibly relaxed. He didn't want to be in trouble. *** Willowstorm closed her eyes when she felt Kestrelclaw's familiar body around hers. She couldn't even get up the energy to smile at him now that she knew the news about her leg and the uncertainty of her future. Willowstorm sighed as Kestrelclaw began talking about how he could have helped. "No," she said. "Please don't blame yourself, Kestrelclaw. I love you and I don't want you to drown in guilt thinking you could've done something. Gorseflight saw me leaving and offered to come with but I told him I didn't need help. If anything, it's my fault that I'm too much of a mousebrain to bring someone along to help me," she sighed when she was done blaming herself. "If Jackdawstar hadn't been returning to camp..." she didn't finish the sentence. If he hadn't, her and her kits all might've been killed by that stupid dog. She closed her eyes at his words before turning and burying her face in his fur. His scent always comforted her and it helped this time, but it couldn't completely wipe her fears away. aether

[ It's all good, I think everyone's been a bit busy lately^^ ]
CHERRYWHISPER | Small Park | Stormstrike Cherrywhisper was grateful when he let the subject go, glad to stop thinking about the embarrassing fall. She normally wasn't so clumsy, but of course the one time she had tripped up had to be in front of the clan's deputy. But she focused back on their hunting patrol; she could at least try and redeem herself by winning their little competition. She was determined to land her next kill, especially when she had been doing so well pre-fall. When the rabbit managed to get away from Stormstrike, she blinked at him sympathetically, "Next time," she said softly, always wanting to encourage her clanmates. She knew Stormstrike didn't think himself a brilliant hunter - and to be fair, he wasn't the best - but he also wasn't too bad. Now it was her turn. She stepped forward, touching the tip of her tail to his shoulder as he passed, before opening up her senses to the park around them. Prey was starting to run slightly shorter now, considering they had been hunting there for a while, but she still managed to detect a fat pigeon hiding in the shadows of a large oak tree. Before she even moved, she made sure to check the direction of the wind - it had changed slightly since they had arrived - before she circled her prey to get downwind. She was going to do this right, and she didn't want to chance losing more prey over a mistake as small as her direction of approach. Her stance was low, as always, and her tail hovered just above the ground so as to not disturb any fallen leaves. Her paws pressed delicately against the ground, placed deliberately in patches of land that lacked any covering leaves or sticks so that her approach was silent. When she felt she was close enough, she bunched up her hind legs. She paused for a second, taking a deep breath just to steel herself. She could do this. And then she leapt forward, claws outstretched. The pigeon, being on the larger sider, was too slow to escape, and she had delivered the killing bite within seconds. The smile on her face said it all as she trotted happily back to Stormstrike, holding the bird within her jaws. They had built up quite a pile now, and she knew that the clan would be fed well tonight - particularly if other hunting patrols had gone out during the day. In fact, their main problem now would be carrying it all back. ( .)
EAGLESTRIKE | Big Park | Snowfeather Eaglestrike looked over at her as she spoke, his ears pricked to both listen closely to what she was saying and keep an ear out for any nearby dangers as they talked. He didn't want their conversation to let their guard down. He smiled politely at her first reply, not all that surprised. She had always seemed so clean and well-kept in camp, so it wasn't a shock to learn it was because she avoided scuffles with rogues. His pelt, on the other hand, was often rather unkempt throughout the day until he got a chance to groom it at night. His sister often teased him on his appearance, but he knew that it was evidence that he had worked hard throughout the day. Not to say that Snowfeather didn't work hard just because she avoided a fight; it was always important for cats to recognise their weaknesses and work to their strengths. That way, they would be putting their best foot forward for the clan. The tom continued to watch her as she looked ahead once more, nodding every so often in the appropriate places. That made sense. He knew that if he felt insecure in his abilities to defend himself that he wouldn't want to be straying out alone either. He was more surprised to here that she wasn't the best at hunting with her form on the more slender side, but he supposed that was simply down to a lack of practise if she didn't enjoy venturing out on her own. That was how he kept his own skills sharp, after all. "Hunting is... not my strongest suit, but I'm not all that bad all the same. I think my real strength lies in battle." He paired his answer with a casual shrug, having come to terms with his strengths and weaknesses a while ago. He didn't mind that he wasn't as good a hunter because he knew he was a strong ally in battle, and it meant that he could accompany hunting patrols not to assist as a hunter, but to keep the others safe while they brought back prey for the clan. Many rogues tried to steal their prey from time to time, so it helped to have a more battle-ready cat in the midst. "If you'd like, we can train a little now after we check the border scents. I don't want you to feel unsafe in your own territory." (I did not reply so I'll get my reply up sometime today)

[ I lied! I had enough time before I left to make this reply! ]
SNOWFEATHER | Big Park | Eaglestrike ashfeather
Snowfeather tensed slightly at the prospect of training. While she did believe it would be beneficial - for her own sake, should she ever be caught in a dangerous or odd situation - she was hesitant. The grass would get tangled in her fur and she'd have to groom it again. Her paws were so delicate, she'd hate it if pulled a claw or something. Yet, he had so very kindly offered to help her and she was without a doubt that she needed some more training. If only she'd listened more as an apprentice... With the afternoon sun warming her pelt, she gave him a firm nod. "That sounds good to me!" She mustered up all of her enthusiasm. In theory she didn't mind training, but in practice it held so many little issues that only she would have.
She waved her fluffy tail in the air and looked at Eaglestrike, "Where should we start?" She asked. She knew some basics, but hardly much at all.
[ Ooh, yeah! Good idea! What do you reckon @redheartofriverclan? ]
JACKDAWSTAR, MISTYKIT | Nursery | Fogkit .
With a solemn nod, Jackdawstar looked down to Mistykiy. While she'd stopped her murmurings about it being her fault, she still looked shocked. Her trembling had eased away, though, which was good. He bent down a little hesitantly - having not ever dealt with kits - to give her some warm, reassuring licks. She let out a little mew but didn't complain much otherwise.
Any other day she'd been bouncing with joy to have the leader give her attention like that. She admired her leader and wanted to follow in his pawsteps - to be just like him (mostly that meant she just wanted to be the leader, rather than like Jackdawstar himself). But for now she remained in her stunned silence, taking refuge in the warmth of her brother and the warmth that her leader gave. She would be okay, when she knew her mother was okay too.
"You have done a great job staying calm," Jackdawstar meowed to Fogkit and paused his grooming of Mistykit to give him a warm, raspy lick too. "Soon you'll be able to see your mother too," he added with a hopeful tone. He knew what they didn't though. He knew the extent of her injury, what their little misadventure had caused. He glanced to Mistykit and hoped she'd be able to move past what had happened, even when her mother bared the scars of that day.
KESTRELCLAW | Medicine Cat Den | Willowstorm
For her sake, Kestrelclaw nodded his head slowly. He still believed that if he had been there to help, the situation wouldn't be so bad. Sure they still might have sustained injuries, but at least they'd eventually go back to their warrior duties without a worry. Now life would be so much different, when Willowstorm could walk again it would only be on three legs - she wouldn't be swift enough to hunt, wouldn't be balanced enough to fight. Kestrelclaw's stomach sank and he felt sick. "I just wish it had been me," he murmured in hindsight, "but I owe a lot to Jackdawstar for being there when he was." Momentarily he wonder why Jackdawstar had been there - and been there alone. But the thought wasn't important enough to linger. "It'll be okay though," he tried to make his heartbroken voice sound more optimistic, but he couldn't stop the emotion. "You'll figure out your strengths and weaknesses, and I'll help you out every step of the way," he gently swiped his tongue over her ear reassuringly.
