((Alright, Aviva! That sounds like a cute place to live, anyway. XD))
"That is true." Ash didn't like the smell of fish, and she would usually come home and shower afterwards. The one time she had asked why it smelled so bad and nothing was being done, she was informed that the citizens loved the smell of fish. Then both disgusted and bothered that they enjoyed it, she had left. For the time being. Of course, she had returned because again, no one could be picky about what to do, and Ash did like the beach.
"I like the way you think, Mia." Ash agreed. Wasting time but... "Wasting time doing what? Walking around getting exercise? That's absurd and... and... gross." She hadn't changed much since coming. If anything, her spoiled attitude just showed through more. Ash knew her dad had hoped that coming here would help her become less "self-involved," but she didn't see a problem. Or intend to change.
"Do you really want to be seen with them?" Jace murmured. "Although, they've got a plan and it's probably the only plan available." He pointed out since there was such a lack of things to do around here. Wow. He felt as if he was starting to sound like Ash.

Mia didn't mind the smell of fish quite as much as Ash, but she knew Sophia didn't like it very much either. And, of course, Sophia had to make her opinion known. "I only like the smell of fish if it's being cooked." And the gross fish smell that came from Ochsport was something she never had to deal with until now. Mia watched the other two girls, slightly surprised at how much Sophia had started to become like a follower to Ash since they arrived here.
Mia shrugged. "We could go home and just relax, but that's what we've been doing all day. Are you sure there's nothing to do in Everton?" she asked. That was the one town that Mia hadn't travelled to and she didn't know what was located there.
Sophia shook her head. "Just animals. So there's animals in Everton, the smell of fish in Ochsford, and absolutely nothing to do in Ellsworth," she said with a snort. "Man, I hate this place."
"We could go to a restaurant and just eat very slowly," Jack chimed in. Sophia glared at him so he turned back to Jace, mocking his cousin when she turned her gaze back to Ash.
Jack frowned at Jace's words. "I mean, we could go fishing in Ochsport. I don't mind the fish smell as much as the girls. Or we could just explore and, like, talk to people." Jack knew he was the most outdoorsy of the group, but that didn't stop him from giving outdoorsy suggestions. Exploring was also fun, though the rich kids stuck out like a sore thumb and he knew some of the citizens weren't exactly happy to see them.

Skylar's favorite thing about the tiny apartment she had grown up in was the smell of it. The place itself was a dump, and the fire escape that led from behind the coffee shop to what served as the apartment's front door was an absolute nightmare to climb, especially if she was having one of her bad days. But waking up every morning to the scent of freshly brewed coffee was enough to make it all worth it. Sometimes, someone would even make a batch of warm pastries, and when that happened it was absolutely heavenly.
That particular morning was a good one, meaning that the constant aches in her frail body weren't as bad as usual and she didn't feel like she hadn't slept in three weeks. She was absolutely freezing, though; Sadie liked it cold in their room, and it didn't help that Skylar lacked enough insulation to keep her warm even wrapped up under two layers of blankets. Shivering, she climbed out of bed and hurried over to her beat up dresser. Selecting jeans and a thick sweater, she quickly changed, then slid her feet into fuzzy slippers (why should she have to wear shoes when she didn't technically even work at the shop?). Finally feeling warm enough to function, she pushed her way out of the room and headed for the front door. She took the rickety metal stairs carefully-- once, almost a year ago now, she had gone too fast and fallen hard, and it wasn't a mistake she was hoping to repeat. When she reached the bottom, she let out a sigh of relief, pushing her way in the rear door of the coffee shop. Walking past the break room, she emerged behind the counter; immediately, she spotted three of her favorite people all clustered together in one corner. Obviously, she knew Kat and Jordan well, given the amount of time that she spent in the coffee shop, but it was rare that she was up in time to catch Simon, especially if it was one of her bad days. Only on her best days was she able to see him here. She hurried toward the table, managing to flash a big smile. "Hey, guys," she greeted, rounding the counter to take a seat on one of the stools on the customers' side.

Kat worked on the hot chocolate while she listened to Jordan and Simon talk. She swore it felt like she had made this a million times and at this point, it was almost like she didn't even have to think about it as she made it. When it was finished, she set it down in front of Simon. Luckily, no other customers had come in quite yet.
"I would die if I had to fish all day." Kat grumbled. She hated the sliminess of fish with a passion. And she wasn't exactly a swimmer... at all, so the beach was also not a good point for her. The only time Kat went down there was when her and her grandma had business to take care of with the Ochs.
"Really? Of course the rich kids want the beach." That seemed like typical, rich kid behavior to her. "I wish they would all just... leave." It was a common opinion, but she was annoyed with seeing their stupid faces all over the place. It was sickening.
Kat managed to forget her brief annoyance when Skylar popped in. "Oh, hey." She said with a faint smile to her. Kat liked Skylar well enough. After all, the kids of the families in charge had to stick together. They were the future... in a way.

"Yeah, but hot guys." Ash's priorities were obviously in the right place. "Shirtless hot guys on the beach. Look, I hate the smell of fish and this place as much as you, but you gotta take what little enjoyment you can get." And for Ash, that was admiring the local guys. She had nothing better to do with her time, after all.
"Everton smells worse than Ochsport." Ash grumbled. Plus she hated the large animals that lived there. She would definitely stick with her ferret, thank you very much. Although, wasn't Mia into horses or something? Maybe she would find it fun. Ash wasn't sure, nor did she particularly care.
She did glare over at Jack at his horrible suggestion. "Jace, please control your friend and his horrible lack of ideas." Which just earned a good eye roll from an annoyed Jace.
Jace grinned at Jack's mockery, and then shrugged at his suggestion. "We might as well. I don't think I've ever been fishing, actually, so it'll be fun to give it a try." He said, his cheeks turning a little red when he admitted the truth.

Jordan's smile faltered when Simon said he was 'alright' but she didn't want to make a big deal about it in front of Kat. She knew Simon wasn't as close to the other girl and she didn't want to let her in on how Simon was feeling in case he wanted to keep it quiet. She did give him a look, though. The look conveyed the message that if they had been alone, Jordan would be pushing him to leave Ellsworth and go to a real doctor. Heck, she'd even be willing to take off of work as long as she needed to go with Simon. She hoped nobody would mind, since it would just be to help out a friend.
Jordan shrugged. "Yeah, I guess you're right about that," she said leaning against the wall to include Kat in their conversation now. Then she shook her head at Simon's comment about the rich kids. She rolled her eyes. "I think they just gotta learn their places," she said. Jordan was small, but strong. She thought she'd be able to teach them their place... But beating up the children of the rich dudes that were buying up all the land and destroying the lives of those living in Ellsworth, Everton, and Ochsport? Yeah, that would be a death wish. So instead she just moved onto teasing Simon. "You know, when you gossip like this, it makes you sound like one of those gossiping little old ladies," she teased. She often said that when he did have news to share (though everyone else seemed to gossip as well) and her smile showed that she meant no harm to her friend.
Jordan shook her head slightly as Kat spoke. "Exactly! I doubt any of them have worked a day in their lives," she muttered. Work was common around here. The majority of people needed to work and the small towns needed everyone's cooperation so that they could function. The only people that she didn't think necessarily needed to work were the two founding families left. But Kat was here at the coffee shop and she knew Arlo and Chase Ochs have both taken over a part of Ochsport's business. Arlo was in lumber and Chase was in fishing. It seemed most people she met had a strong work ethic. And then there were the rich kids that wanted to come in and steal their beach and sit on their butts while daddy came in to ruin the three little towns and buy their kids whatever they wanted.
Jordan looked up as Skylar entered. "Hey," she said, greeting the other girl. There was no real smile on her face, but it was clearly due to the discussion of the rich kids taking over their town. It had nothing to do with her three friends.

Sophia smiled at what Ash pointed out. "I do like admiring them and Ochsport seems to have some pretty hot guys," she agreed. Well, it seemed as if all three towns had pretty physical businesses, so it didn't surprise her that they were all in good shape. Plus, it just made the beach more enjoyable.
Even Mia perked up at the mention of hot guys. She'd never had a boyfriend. She knew Sophia did, and Jack had had girlfriends in the past, so she was the only Walsh or Schultz child that hadn't. Just because she'd never actually dated anyone did mean she wasn't interested in watching the guys go by as they relaxed on the beach. "The beach might actually be a good idea," she agreed.
She didn't comment on Ash's comment about Everton. Sophia surely did, but Mia couldn't. Not when she knew that was the farming capital of the three little towns. Now, Mia wasn't much into farming or other animals, but she did enjoy riding. Daddy had been buying his little girl lessons and horses for as long as she could remember. She occasionally snuck down to Everton for a ride, but she was trying to avoid showing them who she was or letting Ash and Sophia know.
Jack rolled his eyes as Ash. "Your ideas aren't great either, Princess. The last thing I wanna do is stare at hot guys."
He then turned to Jace, actually smiling at the other boy. "Oh, don't worry. I'm a fishing master and I'll teach you everything I know," he said, grabbing his wallet. He looked into it. "My dad will pay," he said with a nod. He'd gotten money from his father the night before and he figured that his father might as well contribute money to Ochsport if he planned on destroying it. "I checked out the boat rental place last time we were there and it seems decent," he said.

Simon chuckled a little at both girls reactions to him suggesting the profession of fishing. Of course he had nothing against fishing, that had to be one of the biggest industries and something that kept it alive, but the three of them were not cut out for that profession. He laced his fingers together and rested his head on them, watching the others carefully, catching the dark look Jordan was giving him. He ould tell that she was about to start in on the whole "you should go to a real doctor not the one here" thing, but thankfully she had enough thought and tact to not say any of that in front of Kat. Sure, most knew about how he always wasn't feeling well, but they didn't know he was sick. That was something that was kept between him and Jordan, even Layla didn't know too much, not wanting to scare her after the death of their parents in a farming accident (father) and boating accident (mother).
He only arched a brow at her, as if to ask what she was going to do about it, before turning back to his hot chocolate and taking a long sip of it. The warmth of the hot coco coated his sore throat as he listened to the girls speak. He perked up a little when he saw Skylar and offered her a friendly wave. "Hi, Sky." He said, putting on his own cheery face, happy to see her. He knew that Sky usually wasn't up by the time Simon was here for his daily fix of hot chocolate. It was only on her great days that she was up by this time so he was always happy to see her. He returned to his chocolate, nodding a little to Kats comment on the rich kids who had gotten into their community, thinking that they were just a bunch of lazy bums as well. Irritation twisted in his chest because his family had always been hard working, sure they had only been here a few generations, only moving here after the big war had chased them out of their home country, but the Levinsky clan had always fought hard to assimilate and took over a small plot of land in Ochsport just big enough for a small amount of small farm animals and a garden so they could care for their family. Simon still visited and so did Layla, but right now it was his uncles that were taking care of the land, and Simon and Layla took over their apartment. It was a nice exchange really and kept all the family in the land.
"I feel ya, there, if they aren't going to try to be a part of the community they should just leave. They're always complaining on how there's nothin' to do here. It's annoyin'. One time I accidentally ran into one of 'em- I was runnin' late for picking Layla up because I had to keep a few of the seniors after class to talk about grades- and spilled a coffee all of 'er. She screamed like I murder 'er or somethin' but I ran before she said I had to pay 'er back. Hope she won't find me an' make her. That shirt looked pretty expensive." He grumbled. He then blushed a little when he was told that he sounded like a little old lady. That was a comment that Jordan always gave him and he laughed a little, brushing her off.
"Aw I'm your source of news and you know it," He teased back affectionately before covering his mouth with his elbow and coughing into it, thin shoulders shaking for a moment before he took his drink and sipped on it to sooth his throat. He fixed his glasses again, a small smile on his features, before it faded. "Wonder if we can scare 'em off. They already hate the smell. What else could we do?"

((I'm going to wait to reply with Kat until Aviva replies. XD))
"Great!" Ash clasped her hands together, bouncing a bit in excitement. "Maybe we can just, like, pick flowers or put perfume on so that we smell that and not fish." Regardless, what other stuff was there to do? Hanging out at the beach seemed like the best idea.
"Although I do wish there was other stuff, we might as well visit the beach." It would kill a couple hours, at the very least. "Maybe there will be cool shops there. And we could always go out to eat after swimming for a bit." What a relaxing day. And it just so happened to be like every other day that Ash had experienced here.
"Unless you guys can think of something better?" Obviously, Ash didn't want to force them into anything or push her own opinions. She may have been spoiled. She may have been a bit of a brat. But Ash still thought about her friends. Usually. Okay, sometimes.
"Yeah, that sounds great." Learning to fish with Jack and being away from the girls? Sounded like a great day to Jace. He didn't like how Ash treated the locals, and he often felt wrapped up into her cruel words.

(I'm honestly tempted to throw the twins in when the girls go to the beach)
Mia obviously didn't think that the fish smell was as terrible as Ash and Sophia made it out to be. She didn't say that, though, wanting both girls to like her. They were really her only friends besides Jack. Well, maybe Jace could be included? She wasn't sure. The boy didn't talk to her much and she didn't talk to him much either. But whenever they did talk, she'd liked him.
Sophia nodded quite seriously. "I think perfume would be the best option. Flowers don't smell that strongly. I'd suggest wearing those paper masks to cover our noses, but imagine the tan lines..." she shuddered at the thought. Sophia had always been one to care about her appearance, much more than Mia did. Even now, her cousin was dressed simply and appeared to be like the locals. Sophia wanted her to wear something else, but only gave in so she could make Mia interact with the locals instead of her. The locals didn't exactly seem to like her or Ash, but they liked Mia a little better.
Sophia nodded at Ash's suggestions. "No, there's really nothing better here. I mean, maybe if you ask Jack or Jace or Mia, but not me," she said with a shake of her head. Mia looked slightly offended, but Jack shook his head slightly, telling her to let it go. There was no point in getting into an argument with Sophia here.
Jack grinned. "Great. We might as well wait for the girls to head out. Plus, I'm kind of amused watching them freak out about a smell," he said the last part quietly. It was only meant for Jace's ears since he wasn't looking to offend anyone, even if those people were his sister, his cousin, and Ash.

XD I also considered a disapproving Mason or Drake.))Ash shook her head at the idea of those tan lines. "You know that saying. With beauty comes pain." And there was no way that she was going to risk her tan for the sake of avoiding the fish smell. It was one of the things Ash prided herself on, and she had had plenty of time to make her tan even better here since she had literally nothing else to do. Her father had suggested she trying picking up a hobby such as reading or knitting, and she had just glared at him until he walked away. Those were also boring, and Ash didn't want boring. "Jace has horrible taste in what to do. He's so boring. All he wants to do is play with his guitar." Ash said rudely, earning herself a hurt look from her brother who had indeed been listening, although she didn't care. As children, it had been required that they each learn an instrument. Jace had chosen guitar, Ash had chosen piano. She hated it and although she could play, she tried to avoid it. Jace, on the other hand, had fully embraced it and loved nothing more than to play his guitar. Ash to this day didn't understand her brother. Jace nodded his head in agreement. "Fine by me. But let's like, keep a bit of distance so maybe people don't know we're with them." He suggested, although the resemblance between himself and his sister was uncanny. The blonde hair, the blue-green eyes, even their faces were similar. Which yes, that meant that Jace had a rather... feminine face. No strong jawline or whatever else made a man look manly.

(Throw all of the boys at them! XD)
Sophia poked Mia. "And we can finally get her a tan too," she grumbled. She was always disappointed in how Mia looked, almost not wanting to be seen with her cousin. But she supposed she and Ash could drag Mia along since her only other options were Jace and Jack. Sophia didn't want them to make Mia even more boring or weird than she already was. Sophia was also irritated that she was here. Her friends had invited her to go on vacation to France, but instead her father had forced her to come here. Being out in nature would be good for her, he said. Well, until he tore it down to make himself more money.
Sophia frowned at Ash's description of Jace. "Well, some musicians are hot," she pointed out, then frowned towards Jace. "Sorry, but you're not my type," she said with a shake of her head. While she did like musicians, she'd never had an interest in Jace. He was just her friend's weird and quiet older brother. Not the type of musician that Sophia liked. Of course, Jack had heard Sophia say that once and tried to learn guitar before giving up and just reverting to sports to attract girls. Mia turned to Jace, giving him an apologetic look. She always felt bad for how Ash and Sophia treated Jace and Jack.
Jack nodded and laughed. "Bro, you look like Ash and I look like Mia. Even a little like Sophia. People will know." Of course, a Jack had a more masculine figure and face structure and muscle and all of that fun stuff. He still had a strong resemblance to the girls in his family.
(Okay I lied my cousin sat down and decided to read what I wrote so I got a reply done)
