If it's going to be this kind of roleplay where it is not clan-center but rather just cat-centered in general, would you like to have the names all be non-clan and non-tribe names? Like ah, idk Matt instead of Mousetail or Mouse With Many Whiskers or something like that. Cats could come from many backgrounds all over the world that way! Or you could include clans but I'd assume that would get complicated over time- unless someone's actual name is Mousetail which is different.

Well, since they are cat souls, I think they can come from any place: Clan, tribe, rogue, or kittypet. I thought it would be fun to have souls who were thousands of years old have less common names and cats with very modern names. If there is clans involved, I think only the cannon clans will be accepted, or unnamed clans.

Ah I see, makes sense. You could have it so that the cats lose some portions of their memories when they die- considering if two mates died at different times and then run into eachother in the coliseum with another honey like "oh hi you found someone else you've only been dead for like a few moons rip" Losing memories could free them up, but they can also choose to remember certain cats or things in their lives that are important to them. But it could help with the clan/tribe name dilemma and they can't remember where they came from.

nice. it would make sense if the cats could only remember a fraction of their name or the part that stays the same. Like how tribe cats have the shortened name and how the prefix of a warrior name doesn't change. Something repeated over and over, and was so personal would stick.
I think younger cats would not know their names or origin.

Definitely! A cat could add on to or leave off portions of their original names whether they can remember it or not. Or, we can have it in a way that you suggested. Perhaps new cats who have just come to the colosseum cannot remember their names or origins, but after a while of being around, they begin to regain bits and pieces.
That way, since cats don't age in this roleplay, they can be distinguished by how many years residence they've been at the colosseum. Could also have it so cats can choose what portion of their lives they come back with (an 80+ moon cat cannot be helpful in fighting because of physicality, but someone in the 12-50 moon range can still be very useful in fighting)

Maybe all of the above. Some can remember their names, some can't only remember a part, and some regain their memories after time. It might depend on the cat's age.
For the older cats, I figured cats would go back to being in the prime of their life. I don't know what to do for young cats. On one hand, I want them to stay young. However, I don't know if they should just age magically.

Some of these cats will be wild, and don't live as long. Plus, we don't know prime is in the middle of their life. The human hits most of their prime in their 20s and 30s, which is hopefully not half of what we live. I guess we can say most of the cats are in their 30s and some may be in their 20s or 40s.

I was going more by a feral cat's lifespan! I don't hear of many cats living past the age of 18, but Im sure they can live longer if they are very well-taken care of. But in regards to a cat living feral? 4-5 years is the average lifespan for them. But I doubt the ages really matter since all the cats are dead and have returned back to their prime forms in the colosseum! c:

Well, I don't think we really need to worry about exact age. I'll just not ask for age on the forms and say the cats are in their prime.
The real think we need to figure out is if young cats can age. I do like the idea of the cats getting to have families and young cats are pretty adorable, but kittens can't really fight? I dunno what everyone's opinion on this is.

You could try an advanced-aging timetable? So kits start as newborns and grow very quickly until they reach apprenticehood, where their growing slows down so they can train, and then slows further until eventually it stops when they are in their prime ages like their parents.

Sounds good.
I'm not sure what else needs to be worked on.

Okay. Time to claim big ranks. I've decided to go with this as our rankings.
We need a bad guy or a couple of bad guys.
Emperor
General (May be more than one if more than one person is interested.)
Priests/priestesses ( They are chosen at birth, and trained by their deity and the others. A few of these are going to be with the 'bad guy')
Historians/Caretakers/guards (very knowledgeable about the monsters and stays to watch the monsters. A good portion of these are going to be with the 'bad guy'. )
Fighters (They fight monsters)
Trainees (Cats of any age. Some may be adults who just arrived and some may be cats who reached the right age. they do not have an assigned mentor and train to be both fighters and guards.)

I love this idea! I've always loved learning about Greek/Roman mythology, so this rp idea interests me so much. I'd be glad to help any way I can! (I will say I am terrible at coding though)

Hello ash! Feel free to suggest anything. We aren’t working on any specific at the moment so any suggestions and ideas regarding the whole rp are welcome. It’s fine if your coding isn’t the best. I’m decent and there are a couple people who are very good. Your knowledge on mythology could be very useful.

I forgot to ask but are there medical positions, or is that filled by the priest/ess?
I'd love to make a priest character for Minerva if that's alright! All of my characters will fall into one side or the other.

Jupiter(Zeus) - Lion/lioness Apollo - Serval Pluto (Hades) - Jaguar Diana(Artemis) - Ocelot Juno(Hera) - leopard Mars (Ares) - Cougar mercury(Hermes) - Cheetah Minerva(Athena) - Snow leopard Neptune (Poseidon) - Tiger/Tigeress Vesta (Hestia) - Lynx Venus (Aphrodite) - Clouded leopard Some could be combined or moved. These are just ideas. I'm just reading through the different ideas you guys have come up with so far, I really like all of them^^ What's this list for? Is the big cat a cat can transform into somehow based around which god(dess) they support? Would they not believe in all the gods though? Or is it not to do with belief just more which god they support the most? Perhaps the god(dess) whose values they most adhere to would be the one they support the most? For example, more violent cats would sort of support Mars (god of war) more than the other gods, so their big cat would be a cougar? Though I'm not sure how this would work with the 'big three', Jupiter, Hades and Neptune. I'm not sure, I'm just spitballing ideas here/thinking aloud I was also thinking about what could happen on the full moon. Perhaps all the different cats would pay their respects to the god/dess that they're most associated with? Perhaps they prepare different offerings that they can give to their god/dess? So all those that support Neptune, for example, would gather at his temple and present their offerings, and so on for all the other gods. Or would it more be all the cats as a group present their offerings to all of the gods collectively?

The Apollo representative will be the healer. Maybe some other priests and priestesses will know some herbs.

Hey, sorry I poofed Dx I fell asleep last night and then I was really busy today. I read through the new stuff and it looks really good! I like the remembering different parts of their lives, that's cool. Do we know the responsibilities of the different deities?

Good ideas. The original idea was for the cat to transform into the big cat of the god of their choice. The cats would know about the gods because they had introduced themselves to the cats. The gods look like the big cats. I like the one about similar values being the reasons why the cats change into that big cat.
I like the offerings to the god idea for the full moon. Maybe ever full moon it is a different god/goddess?

Aaah okay that makes sense^^
Glad you like my ideas c: I like the idea of each full moon being dedicated to a different god/dess, it means the offerings could be specific to what that god/dess rules over too perhaps, though that might be difficult for some. What is the role of the priests/priestesses?

All rough ideas Jupiter(Zeus) - Lion/lioness - Leader and advisor to all priests and priestesses. Apollo - Serval - Healer Pluto (Hades) - Jaguar - Takes care of the dead and their souls so hades can collect them. Diana(Artemis) - Ocelot - Knows when a monster hunt should take place and where Juno(Hera) - leopard - takes care of kittens and helps families Mars (Ares) - Cougar - Trains troops and fights (?) Mercury(Hermes) - Cheetah - Minerva(Athena) - Snow leopard - Trains the new priests/priestesses Neptune (Poseidon) - Tiger/Tigeress - Vesta (Hestia) - Lynx - Welcomes all new cats and gets them settled in Venus (Aphrodite) - Clouded leopard - helps troubled cats
I like the idea of crossing some of the cats' responsibilities to create rivalries.

Mars could help with battle strategies for fighting the monsters and such, though that sort of overlaps Diana and Minerva

Mars wasn't reallllly about strategy, which is probably why they brought in Diana. He was more just like, get bulky and kill as many as you can. Run in and slash. But the priest/priestess of hi might have some battle strategy.
