Blossom Negasi daughter of bellwether and doug
It had been two days since she had married the Serpent Prep second mate and she still had yet to let anybody from Dragon Hall know. A worm of guilt was starting to eat at her. She hated the feeling of it as it squirmed around inside, gnawing at her guts and trying to crawl all the way up into her throat to choke her. While she had gone to Sanura looking for a way out of her home, leaving Dragon Hall had not crossed her mind. The sheep girl had enjoyed school as much as one could on the Isle as it allowed her to get away from Bellwether and Doug for a few hours throughout the day. It kept her safe from having to endure their constant berating her, sometimes even going so far as to be physical with her. They were still pissed about the whole thing with Somesh, how he had managed to take their business and integrate it as a part of the Dragon Hall mafia. The two sheep still grew their own Night Howler, but their business was dwindling thanks to Somesh - even their adult clients were starting to turn to the eerily polite tiger-leopard.
Blossom had enjoyed being under Somesh. Never once had he snapped at her or even lifted a hand in her direction. He had figured out how she went about things, how she did her part of the job, and adapted for her. He hadn't expected her to adapt to his ways. He had been polite towards her if not a bit silent, but what could one expect from the guy? He was like that with everybody. Quiet yet polite.
There was that worm of guilt again. She hadn't even told Somesh that she was gone, practically a part of Serpent Prep now. Maybe it was time for her to do that. Not like anybody would miss her out in the dock territory. All she really had was Zane, and by extension Kyra after a specific run in with the son of the Kraken and Ursula, so nobody would miss her if she was gone for a few hours. But a part of her didn't want to go alone, either. She didn't want to be alone when telling Dragon Hall members that she had married the Serpent Prep's second mate without so much as a warning, and she also didn't want to go alone because she didn't quite know the docks all that well yet. Maybe she could get her husband to come along with her. Unless he had something else to do, but she supposed it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Going back upstairs to the room she now shared with Zane - she had already come down stairs to whip up a quick something for breakfast - Blossom was up at the bedroom door within a few seconds. She pushed it open a tad, trying to be quiet enough just in case the lion was still asleep. "Zane?" Blossom softly called out. Hopefully if he was still asleep her voice was quiet enough for it to not be a rude awakening. Getting on the bad side of a lion was not something she wanted to do.

Vale Raptor-Rex son of pellucidar velociraptor and tyrannosaurus rex
Living in the Outlands proved to be difficult most of the time. There were no shops right down the road or places to go for entertainment. There were only a few trees that spotted the otherwise desolate landscape that stretched out for at least a good mile or two before hitting anything resembling the civilized towns. Despite this it was what Vale called home. It was what the little dinosaur pack called home. It was hard living out here - harder than it was living in one of the Isle's towns - but it was the only life he wanted to live. There were hardships and the occasional feral boy or girl that came this way, but that was just part of this life. Vale wouldn't have it any other way, and he was sure his wife and their ever growing clan of little children felt the same way.
Speaking of his wife and children...
Vale was currently on his way back home after an actually successful hunt. In his hand he carried two pheasants, a rare treat found in the Outlands only every so often. The Isle was a barren place, especially the Outlands, but wildlife still managed to find a way to sustain themselves no matter how scarce their population was. The dinosaur hybrid felt exceedingly proud about his catch, and was more than happy as well. The woman of his dreams who was also his beloved wife, Vera, had recently given birth to their sixth child and Vale wanted nothing more than to provide for his growing family. They already had a set of triplets and twins, and with their recent baby girl that made six children for them. It could be hard, for sure, to take care of such a large family on the Isle, but Vale wasn't so far out that he wasn't aware of the Grimhilde or de Vil families. If they could sustain an entire hoard of children so could Vale and Vera.
With the two birds in hand, Vale made it back to the wooden shack house that housed the Raptor-Rex family. It was still early in the morning - he had set out to hunt way before the crack of dawn - so as he opened the door he made sure to keep quiet, though there was no need as already he had two little girls run toward him and grab a hold of his legs in clingy hugs. "Da's home, da's home!" The two little girls cheered, Vale chuckling as he reached down with his free hand to ruffle their hair.
"Da's home," he echoed in agreement, adoration for the twins shining in his deep green eyes. "And he brought back some fresh meat, how about that?"
The two girls, who were four year old Valley and Velvet, let go of their father's leg to cheer happily. Even at their age the two understood the concept of how rare fresh meat was. Excited that they were going to have a fresh meal today the two little girls eventually skipped off in search of their mother, chanting "food" in sing-song voices as they did.

Krunk Delakronk Son of Yzma and Kronk
Krunk awoke before dawn as he always does on Wednesdays, or any weekday really. Though you’ll never catch him out of his room before noon on Saturday or Sunday, unless Arlo wanted him for something. His beautiful sleepy boy was curled around one of the pillows in the corner of the bed. He looked so happy and peaceful. Leaning over he kissed the boy’s cheek and he didn’t even stir. He was so cute. Krunk gently brushed his bangs off his face then put his thick rimmed glasses on and got up, slipping into a fresh pair of overalls, not bothering with a shirt as he laced up the boots and went downstairs, careful not to wake his boyfriend.
Breakfast. Krunk was no five-star cook, so he decided to treat the boy to someone elses cooking. Leaving his house, with everyone still asleep, not even Zizi was stirring yet. Walking down the streets he realized how early it actually was because no one was outside, not a soul. Did everyone sleep in on Wednesdays or something? If no one was on the streets that probably meant none of the food joints were open either. Getting breakfast for his boyfriend was proving to be more work than he’d originally thought.
After about an hour Krunk was finally on his way home, at a rather brisk walk, so his breakfast was still nice and hot for his boyfriend. The looming clouds indicated it would rain, then again it rained at least a little almost every day on the Isle and it was always cloudy, whether it rained or not. Sighing the tall boy walked up the steps of his front porch and unlocked the door quietly, in case the others were still asleep. He opened the door hearing his sister’s voice first. “You know, Poodle-noodle, usually when you wake up, and the person you were with is ‘poof!’ Gone, it usually means they aren’t interested. Go back to your doghouse, you aren’t wanted here.” Krunk’s eyes shrunk into slits at the words, his boyfriend was very much wanted. And she needed to stop being so rude to Arlo. Taking a step forward to defend his boyfriend he heard the good dog-boy speak up for himself, making Krunk smirk.
“Have to say he’s right Ziz. You probably in the negatives actually.”
The large boy smirked as he walked through the doorway and to the living room where he found his boyfriend. “Good morning honey bun.” He kissed Arlo softly before showing the bag of fresh, hot food. “I brought us breakfast from Friole’s, since you are very much wanted here.” He made another jab at his sister, even if she couldn’t hear him from the kitchen.

Claudette Delphine de Vil Child of Cruella
Claude crammed the bobby pin back into her wig, fixing the coal black hair into place. Tansy had gotten a little rough with it, not that she minded. After the last few days she found comfort in the princess’s very talented hands. Claudette hadn’t minded when the princess left right after, she said something about school, that she had to actually attend today, but the Dragon Hall girl merely shrugged off the idea of school. Claude wouldn’t be going today. Ricky needed her. He’d had a fever all night, causing the girl not to sleep trying to get it to go down. A damp cloth had brought it down some, but her son was still very fussy and in pain. So, Claude made sure to be down at the docks the moment shipment came. She would fight or pay whatever she had to to the goblins to get what she needed for her son. The revolver in her bag ensured she would get anything she wanted.
Her little detour in between Tansy’s legs would not stop her from her mission. It was still before 8 am so the crates wouldn’t even be opened yet, just unloaded, which meant she could slip in from the back and fill her duffel with as much as it could carry before they were even aware of her.
As the female walked onto the old plank wood she slipped into the massive stacks of crates and started from the back, pulling out her crowbar and prying open one of the crates labeled children. Like thanks Auradon. The wood creaked signaling to someone that the boxes were being touched, but thankfully at the same time a crate was being lowered with a thud. She let out a sigh of relief then opened it and pushed the lid off and dug inside. She grabbed a pack of bottles and crammed them into her bag, grabbing every male baby clothing item she could find, unless it was really small. Her son was a year old and grew every day, she couldn’t get Eli to make her clothes, so she safety pinned some of her old shirts up for him and stole what she could. At the very bottom there were a few books and building blocks, she shoved those in the bag too. Claude lifted her head to make sure no goblins were coming her way and dug around for any medicine, food, or formula that could have been tossed in here. She snagged a new blanket and a sweater for him. It would be too big now, but it would be helpful later. She had already stuffed every package of diapers she could find into her bag, which was almost pull now with baby stuff.
There was some call that echoed over the docks. Oh no. She’d been spotted. She grabbed every jar of food she could get her hands on and the two bottles of baby Tylenol and zipped up the back, booking it across the wooden planks. There was no need to draw the weapon if she didn’t need to. Glancing back over her shoulder, not paying any attention where she was running to the de Vil girl made sure the little beasts wouldn’t catch her. Honestly it made her feel like a kid again. Claudette remembered all the times her and San would sneak down to the crates and steal as much as they could carry. The day Claude kissed San was their last heist. The last time she’d done anything with San now that she thought about it. She’d seen her around, but Collie would go without her to hang out with her, then suddenly Collie stopped too. Claude never knew what happened there, but she didn’t ask, not wanting to divulge the reason she stopped speaking to the lioness.
Well one of the reasons. After Sanura ate her boyfriend she couldn’t even look at Sanura without this fit of rage overcoming her. Her baby was fatherless because of Sanura. All she wanted was for Sanura to feel that gut wrenching pain that she felt when Richard died. Her heartbroken existence shoved her into bed with her sister’s ex. Let’s just say that was a bad decision, especially when he found out Claude had been pregnant with Richard Ratigan’s son. Being so distracted by the memories of her and San she didn’t even see the person walk right in front of her as she ran, so Claude ran right into the lioness she’d been distracted by.
Claude stumbled after slamming into Sanura’s shoulder and whipped around ready to scream about watching where they were going, but it died in her throat when she saw the girl who’d taken her virginity, the girl who’d stolen and broken her heart, the girl who ate the man who’d mended it, the girl she still loved and wanted to kill. “You…” She whispered, all the rage filled her again, her heart pounding, her hands shaking. She wanted to throttle her, take her to the ground. Claude narrowed her eyes, all but growling at the lioness. She could take her, Sanura looked pretty out of it.
Without much thought to it the female had grabbed the revolver out of her bag and pointed it at San. “You…” Another single word. You’re so verbose Claude. Really. Such a great vocabulary you got there. Going real strong here. Say something else. Anything. "You should watch where you're going Susan you might really p*ss the wrong person off." Yes. Perfect. Almost civil. I can't kill her. We're supposed to be at peace. So with a lot of will power and strength she put the revolver back into her bag. Collie owed her big time for this.

Vera Raptor-Rex Daughter of Velociraptor
Six children. Everyone tells her she’s nuts. Everyone being her husband, the one providing her with all the little children. To be fair to him she was very demanding in bed, meaning she dragged him in there several times over. Vera was the leader of their herd of dinosaurs and in her opinion meant she should have the most children. Their smallest little hatchling would not be the last. Oh no. Though Vivian came alone, she had to be the biggest handful. Vivian never slept. Never. At least not for more than an hour at a time. Vera blamed her husband. Said it was because he woke so early that he passed the nonsleeping gene on to his newborn.
The twins, Valley and Velvet were always up at dawn. Sun’s up they’re up. The triplets Victoria, Violet, and Valarie could sleep for days. Vera honestly did not understand her children’s sleep schedules, she just knew it meant she never slept unless she got the younger ones down for a nap at the same time. A rarity. The triplets had been a walk in the park when they were born. Mother nature lured Vera and Vale into a false sense of good parenting, to keep procreating. It was a mistake. Well. Not really. Vera adored her little ones.
Velvet and Valley’s calls of food woke a sleeping Vivian from her nap and the youngling began to scream at the top of her lungs. Vera groaned. “Not again.” She scooped her infant up and cradled her. “Shh little one. Shhh.” Having the baby tight to her, immediately calmed her down. Vera kept Vivian like that as she walked down the hall to the triplets room and kicked the door a few times.
“Girls. Up up up. Your father is home with breakfast.”
Velvet and Valley appeared in front of her then, chanting over eachother about food. It made her smile. She reached down and ruffled Valley’s hair, then Velvet’s. “Yes, I heard. Wake up your sister’s they need to get out of bed.” The twins were more than willing to help, then saluted and squealed as they barreled into their sisters’ room and bounced from bed to bed to wake them up.
Vera laughed a little and took Vivian downstairs to her husband. “Hello there handsome.” She kissed her husband deeply before looking at the birds he caught. “Looks like you’ve had a very good morning.” She walked over to the chair and grabbed a long cloth and tied it around herself so Vivian could stay against her chest, but she had full motion of her arms again. “There now you’re happy and Mommy’s happy. Everyone’s happy.” She gently rubbed the peach fuzz of hair on the top of her baby’s head.
“You wanna go clean up and make sure all the girls are up while I start prepping the birds?” She asked her husband, focusing on the male once more, her pale yellow eyes flicking over his form quickly. He really was a hot piece of meat, especially when he provided for the young, that really made her happy. A happy wife meant a happy life after all.

Zane Amana Negasi Child of Scar and Zira
One does not simply wake a lion from it’s slumber unless they wish to be eaten, but in the case of his wife, Zane would allow it, even though it was a very nice dream he was being awoken from. Maybe if I pretend to be asleep she will go away. Instead the door opened a little more and she came farther into her own room. Blossom still acted like a guest in the house. It wasn’t like she had anyone to tiptoe around. San was never here, she usually slept on the boat, if she didn’t sleep somewhere else, with someone else.
Realizing his wife must actually want something the male sat up and stretched out his muscles, with a very loud yawn, which mingled with a roar. She would have come in if it was something as simple as breakfast, so she must want something either really big or she was afraid he would tell her no. He turned and looked at her with his tired eyes. “Come here lambchop what is it?” He asked, clearly still tired, but not so tired he couldn’t remember his little nickname for her. His little lamb certainly was delicious, he’d found that out several times over, especially yesterday when his best mate, Kyra Kraken, came over and they all had a bit of fun. Though Zane wasn’t so sure how well that was going to go over with Kyra’s girlfriend Kallie, if he told her of course.
Stretching a little more, the blanket pooled at his waist, revealing his bare chest now. He reached over and grabbed his little wife from the doorway and pulled her to his chest, softly kissing her for a moment. Zane a romantic, who would have guessed? What could he say? He’s a newlywed now. He played with the tips of her hair gently. “Tell me what’s wrong Blossom. Who do I have to eat?” He was joking, probably. Though if Zane ever heard of another touching his wife he probably would eat them, while they were still alive. Zane wasn’t as cannibalistic as his sister, but when provoked the male lion was not above getting his fangs dirty, especially for his female. Normally male lions had a pride of females, but that was the old Zane. He told himself he was going to be a one-woman kind of man now. Where was Arlo with his whipping sound when you need him?

Vale Raptor-Rex son of pellucidar velociraptor and tyrannosaurus rex
The sound of the infant crying instantly told Vale that the rest of his family was up. Or if they hadn't been before they were now. A smile pulled at his lips at the thought of getting to see the rest of his family before long. He had only been gone for four hours or so, but he had missed his wife and their children dearly. Four hours was too long to be away from his close knit group. While the T. Rex part of him was okay with solitude the velociraptor part of him was not. They were pack animals. Animals that relied on the presence of their group. Vera, of course, was part of his group, and not only just part of it, but the alpha. Instinct made it hard for him to be away from Vera only because she was the leader, and the socialized part of him made it hard for him to be away from her because she was the love of his life, but he had needed to go out and provide for his family, and provide he had done. At least for today they would have a sufficient meal.
That smile on his face widened when Vera walked downstairs. A faint purr like chirp came from the male, the purr of a very happy dino. "Seeing you and the kids make the morning that much better," he replied softly, eyes glancing down to eye little Vivian held up against her mother. She was the newest member of their little pack and, of course, Vale loved her more than anything. He would do anything for her, anything for any of his daughters. They meant more to him than his own life did. But that was a thought for another time.
When asked if he wanted to clean up and get the rest of the girls ready for the day he complied. He handed the pheasants out toward his wife. "Why don't I clean up the birds this time?" He asked softly, lowering his head just subtly enough to show submission, to show he wasn't undermining her rule. She was the alpha. They were equals in everything but that, and instinct told Vale he needed to show his respect for her leadership. Lowering his head was just one of those signs. "You can take them to the kitchen while I get cleaned up and get the girls, but I can take care of the meal today, let you rest a bit longer. You do so much for us already," he pointed out with that little chirrr rolling off his tongue again. Vale did his best to help around the house and to help with the girls, especially now that little Vivian was here, but he still felt like he did so little compared to his lovely wife. For once he wanted to give Vera the option to settle down and to rest, to not worry about anything and let Vale do it all for her. If she allowed him this he could even bring her breakfast in bed. The thought made him happy. He enjoyed supplying for Vera and he enjoyed making her happy all the more.

Blossom Negasi daughter of bellwether and doug
There was still a part of Blossom that was hesitant around Zane. They had shared pleasure together and shared a life now, but that didn't mean they knew each other, like really knew one another. The sheep didn't know what her husband's favorite food was or what his favorite color was, what his favorite memory was...nothing like that. She knew that he liked to sleep in and that he enjoyed loving her, but that was about it. Then again, Zane didn't know much about her, either. They had been thrust into an impromptu marriage where they had barely known one another, had really only known the other's name. That's why she was so hesitant still - she didn't know Zane. What made him really tick. She needed to work on that. Maybe they could work on that together, get to know one another inside and out, get to truly learn how to love one another. That would be nice. That would be really nice. Blossom liked the idea of falling in love with Zane.
When the lion told her to come over she did just that. While her steps to their room had been hesitant her steps to their bed were full of confidence. Good job, Blossom, way to show where your priorities lie - in the bed. With ease she came over to sit beside him on the bed, finding herself melting into his touch when he so easily scooped her up and brought her into a kiss. She already loved how tender he could be, how willing he already was to make her happy and giddy and blushy. Maybe she was already falling in love with the lion. It was hard not to when he was treating her like some Auradon princess.
The daughter of Bellwether and Doug couldn't help but nuzzle into her husband. Already the smell and feel of him was so familiar and reassuring. It was almost hard to imagine that they didn't know much about one another.
After a moment of letting herself fall into him, she parted her lips to speak. "You don't have to eat anybody," she replied, knowing he was teasing, at least for the most part. She knew very well about the lions and how some preferred specific meats over others. "I made us breakfast, but after I want to know more about the docks, all the secret little passageways and everything. And...I probably need to tell somebody in the mafia about what happened...about us." She pulled away from Zane for a moment to look him over, her green eyes meeting with his unique blue eyes. Eyes that she could stare into forever if given the chance. Maybe he'd understand what she wanted. She wanted to go down to Dragon Hall territory with him. With the Serpent Prep first mate at her side. It could be worse at least. She could have had Sanura tag along with her down to mafia territory. Zane was the lesser of two evils between him and Sanura when it came to the thought process of Dragon Hall mafia members. The male lion hadn't done anything to him, not like his sister, that was for sure.

Sanura Negasi daughter of scar
Nothing but Night Howler mattered to Sanura right now. Everything that she needed and wanted in this moment was waiting for her at the ship. Even out of it she could catch the familiar scent of salty water and decaying fish. To just about anybody that smell would be revolting, but to Sanura that was the smell of home. The smell of sanity. She was so close...if she could just make it a little further...
Usually Sanura would have been able to steady herself and keep from faltering, but when something hard ran into her the lioness stumbled. Luckily she had been close enough to the wall of an alleyway that it caught her, but not without a sharp hit to the shoulder Gaston had stabbed the night before. A hiss escaped from between her teeth as she slid down, slumping onto the ground like a limp rag doll. It took her a few moments to even realize that she was on the ground. Being on the ground meant she was weak. Being down here meant she could be taken advantage of. A deep growl came from the predator. Even in her current state she could vividly remember the last time she had been on the ground like this.
A greasy looking older man was staring her down, the lioness pinned against the wall of her room in the ship. She was younger now, perhaps only 14 years of age. She had been dealing with the guy for some time now, almost to the point of wanting to snap his neck. He had come to her asking about a potential trade that had caught her interest - some fresh fish for an entire goat. She had smelt the scent of goat on the man, so she knew he wasn't lying about the creature. This enticed her as she had never had goat before, and she was curious to try. They were relatively big creatures as well, so there would for sure be enough to go around. Sanura was a lot of things, but when it came to fresh food - unless it was human - she shared with her crew without question.
Sanura had been guarded, already not trusting the man to not try anything wicked, but for some reason she had missed his quick movement and before she knew it he had one hand grabbed around her wrist and another clasped around her throat. "Scar's little princess, eh?" He sneered. "I've heard you have a very, ah, loose love life very unbecoming of a princess. Surely you wouldn't have any trouble helping a man out?" He questioned, his voice sending a shiver down Sanura's spine - the words sounded like leaches on her skin, slimy, squirmy. Before she could do anything the guy removed his hand from her wrist and groped at her chest, a disgusting smirk crossing his features. His hand around her throat gripped tighter. "Keep quiet and this will be a lot better for you, little kitty."
And that was it.
She had to admit that at first she had been caught off guard, surprised by the man's behaviors. She had heard of things like this before but nobody had dared try anything like this on the daughter of Scar. Nobody wanted the king lion's wrath upon them, but this man was stepping over way too many boundaries.
It was time for the man to be caught off guard. With a surprising amount of strength the Isle princess lurched forward and kicked up, kneeing the man right between his legs. He jerked back and crumpled forward, cursing Sanura. The lioness loomed above him, her shadow falling over him. "You f--ing bi-" But he never got the chance to finish his words. Before either of them could say anything Sanura grasped the male by his throat, digging her nails deeper and deeper into his flesh.
"And to believe I was going to give you some fish. You don't even deserve the dirt you're squirming on."
A trill of pleasure ran through her as she watched the man try to pull her away from his throat. His panic was ecstasy to the lioness. She could have ended his pathetic existence there, but she decided against it. He deserved to suffer just like how he had probably made no telling how many young girls like Sanura suffer.
By now the man was realizing just how stupid he had been to prey upon an apex predator. A toothy grin crossed Sanura's features. Just seeing the fear rising in his blue gaze gave her immense pleasure. She took her free hand and clasped it against his throat, tight and sharp alongside her other hand. That's when she pulled and heard the snap of his bottom most cervical vertebra. She watched as the pain lit up the man's eyes, but already he could no longer squirm or struggle. He was limp in her hands now, and she let go of his snapped neck. "You put your hands on the wrong girl," she hissed right before beginning the first round of true torture - she dug her claws into the skin around his neck once more, yet this time she pulled down, literally peeling the skin off his neck like one would peel an orange. She would have stopped at just one strip of flesh had it not been for just how satisfying his screams of pain were. And then, right in front of his terrified eyes, she devoured the flesh with pleasure.
This went on for about a week - Sanura coming down to strip flesh from the man and eat him in front of his own eyes - before he finally died.
Sanura blinked. She unsteadily pushed herself up to her feet, shaking off the pain from her shoulder and any remnants of her memory. That's when she noticed who was standing right in front of her.
The lioness bit her tongue, drawing blood. No, no, no, no. This wasn't good. This wasn't good at all.
Her meal from a few minutes ago was threatening to come back up.
She swayed on her feet, and not from pain.
Claude. It was Claude.
A million emotions gathered in her chest.
She shut her eyes closed tight. There she was, shuffling through boxes at the dock with Claude. There she was, laughing with Claude as they tried skipping stones into the ocean. There she was, sneaking into Hell Hall just because she wanted to cuddle with Claude. There she was with Claude and Collie, the three laughing and cutting up. There she was with the two girls again, both of them concerned in their own ways over Sanura because she had jumped on a roof just to chase a buzzard. To say she had fallen off the roof was making the lioness sound smart. There she was with Claude again, sneaking subtle glances at her. There they all were, Sanura trying to capture the attention of Claude with a young Richard Ratigan around. He stole Claude's attention, leaving the lioness dejected. There she was, watching in silence as Claude and Richard grew closer, hurt choking her. There she was with an aching heart, connecting with Collie even more and more.
And then there she was with Claude on top of the roof of whatever building they had climbed up to. That was where they had made love for the first time, where San had slipped up and responded with Collie's name rather than Claude's. It was something she still hated about herself to this day.
Finally, Sanura found her voice. "You can't be here." Was this even Claude? No. It couldn't be. This wasn't the real Claude. But yet...she was right there. She was right there like how she had been in Addie's room last night.
That was when the daughter of Scar realized something.
Her blood went cold. Out of all the places to run into Claude - real or shadow - it had to be here, here at the building who's rooftop had allowed the two girls to have everything and anything with one another. The same building where one mistake had ruined everything. Sanura felt a shudder run through her. Now wasn't the time for this. She needed Night Howler now. She needed to get to because didn't she have something to attend today? In the back of her mind the memory of having something to do later today itched, but she couldn't quite scratch at it right now. It was there, bugging her, but she had no idea what it could possibly be. That didn't matter right now. Claude was what mattered in this moment.
A low growl rumbled in her throat. "You can't be here," she repeated, stumbling forward. Sanura faltered, hobbling into the wall again. Pain flared up in her shoulder. Once again she bit her tongue, the metallic taste of blood filling her mouth. This elicited another warning growl from Scar's daughter. Right now she had no incentive to attack. She was a weak and injured lion. They were more likely to attack then a healthy lion, but Sanura didn't have it in her right now. There wasn't anger in her words, in her gaze, in the way she walked, only hurt. The kind of hurt that only somebody with a broken heart could have.
Before she could even stop herself she fumbled over to Claude. Real or not, she placed her hands gently against the other girl's cheeks, thumbs tracing the outlines of the girl's jawline and throat. "Why does something so beautiful hurt so much?" She breathed before tilting her head to the side and pressing her lips onto Claude's.

Henry Algernon Hook Son of Captain Hook & Red Jessica
Drip.
Another water droplet fell from the ceiling, landing on the floor. Hal watched it splat onto the ground before his brown eyes were lifted back up to the leak in the ceiling. On a ship it was almost impossible for everything to be completely dry, and his room was no exception. Luckily it wasn’t very noticeable, and no real cause for worry.
Drop.
Another droplet fell.
Hal had been up for a few minutes, though it was still fairly early in the morning, much earlier than he was usually up. However he hadn’t been able to stay asleep long. Not when he had company in his bed with him all night long.
Looking away from the dripping ceiling, Hal shifted onto his side to look at the Auradonian girl lying next to him. Jeanette. Hal watched her for a second or so longer, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. Last night had been the best night he had had in a very long time. He could see why his father enjoyed the activity so much. However, that didn’t stop a small part of Hal from being hesitant, reminding him not to get ahead of himself, not to be happy about any of this.
After all, did he really think this would last? Did Hal really think that Jeanette wouldn’t tire of him once all of his issues came into light? Did he think those issues would just disappear now that he had Jeanette? No, that was foolish thinking. It all was. Sooner or later Jeanette would realize how much better off she was without him, and she’d leave to find someone better.
”You don’t deserve her.”
Hal closed his eyes in an attempt to block out the thoughts. It didn’t work. So, he got up, pushing himself to his feet. Hal gently placed the blanket over Jeanette’s shoulders to make sure she would remain warm, and then he started to collect his clothes from off the floor. He could use some fresh air.
So Hal slipped on a random shirt and a pair of pants, walking over to the small, broken mirror hanging on the wall above a broken down desk. He pulled his hair back into a small, barely manageable ponytail before he focused down at the desk. If he was going out, he wasn’t about to do it without leaving Jeanette a note.
”Went out for a walk, I’ll be back later. - Henry”
There, that would have to be good enough. So Hal took the note and placed in on the bed where he had previously been, stopping for a moment to look at Jeanette again before he grabbed a pair of shoes and headed out the door. Thoughts tugging at the back of his head as if determined to remind him of his place.
It was still cold by the time he left the Jolly Roger behind. Proof that morning had only just begun. Usually Hal would never be up this early, but today was different. Hal closed his eyes for a moment, breathing in the chilly morning air. It was crisp and sharp with the ever present smell of fish and salt of the docks mixing into the coolness of the air. It was one of Hal’s favorite smells.
”You always did like the morning smell, didn’t you, Hally?” Hal stiffened, not daring to open his eyes. He knew that voice all too well.
”Schmee,” he breathed out, shoulders slouching forward. ”Of course.” It was always Schmee. Ever since his friend had died, Schmee had been a constant visitor of Hal’s, it came as no surprise to him now that Sammy was here. ”What are you doing here, Schmee?” Hal asked, slowly opening his eyes to stare down at the ground, still not daring to look up.
”You didn’t think you could get rid of me that easily, do you?” There was a pause before “Sammy” continued. ”Why do you think I’m here, Hally?” His words made Hal come to a stop. By now Hal had learned that Sammy was in his head. If anyone would know why the son of Mr. Schmee was here, it would be Hal, wouldn’t it?
Hal closed his eyes again. ”I don’t know, Schmee,” he got out, voice low and quiet as he took a few steps further away, hand reaching out for the nearest wall as he gripped onto a loose brick. He kept his eyes closed, hoping that would be enough for the voice of his deceased friend.
That wasn’t the case. ”I think you do know, Hally-“
”I said I don’t know, Samuel,” Hal growled out, interrupting Schmee’s voice, turning around to glare at his friend, though there was nothing there. No Schmee, no one at all. However that didn’t seem to be enough to rid Hal of the voice of his friend. ”I don’t know why you’re here,” Hal repeated, voice softer this time as his hand fell from the wall it was on. ”And for once, Schmee, I wish you weren’t here,” Hal confessed, voice breaking slightly. ”You’re not real, and I know you aren’t real. But it’s like you’re right here, it’s like I could reach out and touch you, and you’d be here,” Hal closed his eyes again, head bowed down towards the ground.
”But you’re not here, and you have no idea what that’s like.” What it was like to wake up with Schmee’s voice in his ear, or to hear his voice so clearly that if Hal opened his eyes, he swore his friend would be right there. To have a constant presence of someone Hal knew to be dead always right there, so close it was like Hal could feel him. So close that all Hal needed to do was reach out a hand to find him, and he would be there, only to do this and find nothing.
No. Schmee would never know what that was like, because he had been the one to die, not Hal. Schmee had died, and left Hal with this nightmare of a reality without him in it, he had left Hal here, alone to watch as all three of the girls that participated in Schmee’s murder walked free, being met with no consequences, no repercussions for Schmee’s death. No, instead they got to live on, not even stopping to mourn over the death of his Schmee. Had they even cared? Had they stopped to think for even a second of the life that had been lost and what it might’ve meant to someone else? Or did they never once stop to think about it?
Did they ever stop to think about Schmee? Did anyone? Sometimes it felt as if the world had kept moving on while Hal had stayed in the past, never moving on from the death of his Schmee. Schmee had died and the world had moved on, all the while leaving Hal behind. No, Schmee hadn’t just died, that made it sound like an accident. He had been murdered and that made it all that much worse.
”It shouldn’t have been you,” Hal muttered out loud, fist curling at his side. ”You should still be here, with me. Not rotting away at the docks,” he said, voice growing bitter as he spoke. If Schmee hadn’t died, everything would be different now. If Schmee was still alive now, he could go to Auradon with the transfers. Out of anyone on this whole Isle, Sammy deserved to go the most. If Schmee hadn’t died, Hal would still be loyal to Sanura, if Schmee hadn’t died-
If Schmee hadn’t died, would he have met Jeanette?
Suddenly Hal came to a stop again. Since Schmee had died, the only thing good in his life had been meeting Jeanette, if Schmee had never died, would anything he had with Jeanette, have ever happened?
”Maybe that would be for the best. Jeanette deserves better.”
”She’ll leave you too, and then you really will have no one.”
”No crew, no family, no Jeanie, no Schmee.”
Hal clutched his head, nails pressing into the sides of his head. ”Stop it,” he ordered quietly.
”Just you.”
”Just like you have been doing to yourself.”
”You keep pushing everyone else away, isn’t it only fitting that in the end, it would just be you?”
”Even Schmee would leave you now if he saw you like this.”
Hal tumbled forward a little, eyes shut tight. ”Stop it!” He begged.
”Poor little pirate, maybe you should just end it now, leave before anyone else can leave you.”
”Come on, don’t be afraid. Do it.”
”There’s a butcher’s shop around here, you could find something there.”
”Do it.”
”Or there’s always Yzma’s place, she’d have something there.”
”Don’t be afraid.”
”What about a cliff? The Isle has plenty of those.”
”Come on Hook, do it.”
”Do it!”
Hal fell to his knees, clenching his teeth as he pressed his hands further against his head. ”Stop.” His voice became soft, barely above a whisper as each thought grew louder and more vicious. Taking jab after jab at him with each thought that popped into his head, there was no stopping them now. Instead they just grew louder and more numerous until it felt as if Hal was being crushed under every thought, now shouting at him so loud he could hear them out loud.
There was no dulling the pain, no silencing the thoughts or even numbing them this time. There was no out for him to use as an escape. No temporary relief from the very thoughts that haunted him day in and day out like a plague. This time it was only him and his thoughts, and that was very dangerous company for him to keep.
”Hal.”
Through the shouting of his thoughts came a voice, soft and calm, echoing in his head as if calling out to him.
”Hal!”
There it was again, slowly growing louder each time that his voice was called out. Hal paused, very tentatively blinking open an eye to peer down the alleyway where a short, shadowy figure was approaching him. He blinked again, slowly lowering his hands from his head. ”S-Schmee?” He questioned, voice quivering.
That’s when a hand reached out for him to help him up. Hal didn’t question it, instead he took the hand without looking up to see who it belonged to. For a moment, all he did was hold onto the hand, thoughts being pushed away like fog in the daylight.
”Hal, you okay?”
Finally he looked up, blinking as the shadowy figure was made clear to him and he felt his heart shatter all over again. It wasn’t his Schmee. It was Kittie, a member of Serpent Prep, and someone he hadn’t seen in a very long time. ”Hey, can you hear me? Are you alright there, Hal?” Kittie asked again, smiling down at him nervously.
Hal blinked, accepting her help to get up to his feet. ”I...I’m fine, Kittie. How-how long have you been there?” He asked, peering past the girl to catch a glimpse behind her, wondering just how long the cat girl had been standing around.
Kittie shrugged in response. ”Not long, I heard talking and came to see what was going on,” the short girl paused, looking Hal over for a moment. ”Then I found you. Are you sure you’re alright, Hal?” Questioned the cat, giving him a look, clearly not about to believe him if he claimed to be alright again.
Hal couldn’t blame her, even he could tell that he wasn’t alright. Not after all of that. No, it had become very clear to him that Hal was the furthest thing from alright that he could be right now. He couldn’t go back to Jeanette like this, not when he couldn’t even keep himself straight. He...he needed-
Jenny.
Instantly Hal’s mind flew back to the day before, when he had stumbled across the transfer. She had offered to listen to him, if he needed it. Yesterday Hal hadn’t wanted to deal with that. Today though, well today Hal was beginning to think it might just be worth a shot. So, he turned his attention back to Kittie, placing his hands on her shoulders to look her in the eyes. ”Kittie, do you know how to get to the transfer shack from here?” He asked, looking the small cat girl over.
Kittie seemed to see how serious Hal was about this and sobered up quickly, her previous smile being replaced by a determined frown as she nodded to him. ”Yeah, yeah I do, follow me,” she told him, turning away to lead Hal towards the shack. ”I got curious yesterday and followed one of them home, I can take you there,” she reassured him, leading him off. This was one of the things Hal actually liked about Kittie, the girl didn’t ask questions, she helped him out and then went on her way. It made things much easier to deal with.
It didn’t take too long for the two of them to get to the shack, seeing that it was in Wharf Town and wasn’t really all that hard to find. So, soon enough Hal found himself standing in front of the door to the shack. From inside he could hear people talking, which was enough of a sign for him to know that at least some of the transfers were awake. Now hopefully they wouldn’t mind a visitor.
Hal inhaled sharply, bringing his fist up to the door, then, with a shaky exhale, he knocked.
A hush fell over the other side of the door until footsteps made their way to it and opened the door. Hal was met by a girl with fluffy black hair, dark skin, and curious greenish-yellow eyes. She looked him over, tapping the door slightly with her fingertips. ”Hello there,” the girl greeted him with a smile. ”May I help you?”
Hal opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out, instead they were stuck in his throat. He gulped, looking behind him to see that Kittie had already disappeared. He was on his own from this point on, so Hal turned back to the girl, nodding slightly. ”Is Jenny here? I need to talk to her,” he explained.
The girl seemed confused, but nodded anyways, letting him inside. ”Yeah, she’s here, I’ll go get her,” she promised, quickly running down the hallway to go fetch the rabbit-fox girl.
Hal stayed where he was, standing there in the middle of the main room of the shack, hands folded together in front of his lap. There were a few other transfers in the area, and already he could feel their eyes on him. Hal gulped, smiling slightly at them. ”...Er, hi,” he greeted, not really expecting any sort of greeting back.
However that didn’t stop another transfer, one with wild, spiky black hair to nod back at him, opening up a can to some sort of drink. ”Sup,” the boy replied, taking a gulp of the drink. Hal offered an unsure smile and looked around again, hoping Jenny wouldn’t take too long to arrive.

Jenny Wilde daughter of nick and judy
Henry Hook - Goes by Hal. Son of Captain Hook. Experienced the loss of a close friend a year ago. Trauma set in after this sudden death. Speaks to his deceased friend, sees him and hears him. Possible psychosis, apparent depression. Psychotic depression seems possible. Can't make a diagnosis because not a professional.
Dang it. Why did she have to be only sixteen? She wanted to be professional now. She couldn't help people if she was some high school student, not really. She could talk and listen and throw out suggestions that sounded professional, but she couldn't diagnose or prescribe treatments or anything of the sorts for people who truly needed help. People who couldn't get help or people who were afraid to speak to somebody older than them - that intimidated people, talking to somebody they saw as superior. It was something Jenny did like about being a regular high school student. At least she was on the same level as most of the people she talked with. That had to mean something, she was sure of it.
While she was deep in concentrating on her journal entry about Hal, the rabbit-fox couldn't help but scribble on the sides of the other paper, doodling little hearts with a J and A in the middle. Hey, she was only sixteen, of course she was going to be all mushy and "middle-schoolish" with her and Akram. That's just how life was.
But going back to the actual journal entry.
I let him know he could come and talk. I hope he does. He just needs help, somebody to listen to him, that's all. He's a good boy, deserves to feel happy again. There are various approaches to help with his symptoms, but I'll have to take them one at a time, and slowly, too. He didn't seem too keen on getting help yesterday, but we can work something out together when he feels like he needs to talk again. I'll make sure to help him no matter what.
- Jenna Nicole Wilde
Beside her name in the entry she wrote the date, marking it down as a professional would. This journal was perhaps the only thing that Jenny wouldn't share with other people. She liked to keep her world open to those around her, but if there was one thing she was closed off about it was her journal and her patients. She had no right to run around telling their stories or letting other people read about them. Her journal was off limits.
With that in mind the daughter of Judy and Nick slid her journal under the pillow on her bed when she heard somebody come walking into the room. She jumped up and a wide smile came across her face even before she registered that the person who had entered was Bala Singh. Once she did notice she gave a little hop, coming up beside Bala. "Morning there, Bala! What's got you in a hurry?" She asked, nose twitching. It seemed like the leopon girl had been running or something by the way she was holding herself right now. Surely nothing was wrong, right? No, if something was wrong Bala would have a worried expression on her face or something like that. That made Jenny relieved. She hated when things went wrong, but at least if they did she was there to try and fix it, and that's what the rabbit-fox loved doing - fixing things no matter how big or small.

She rose with the sun, more out of habit than out of love for the early hours of the morning.
In the Slim household, most everyone was up before or with the sun - one of the perks of living on a farm and having that early-riser mentality pounded into you from a young age. After all, the early bird gets the worm, right? Jo couldn't count the number of times she'd heard her father say that over the years. It was one of those things that just kind of stuck with you, she supposed, both simultaneously a curse and a blessing - lame proverbs were just a byproduct of being raised by two ambitious, country villains.
As Jo ambled out of the house, she let out a soft yawn and rubbed her eyes against the orange, early-morning glow that bathed the Slim homestead in warmth. She took off towards the direction of the southmost field, already knowing what awaited her there. Her messy blonde ponytail bobbed as she crossed the length of the field, half-stumbling over her own bare feet. The grass was cool against her toes, the early-morning dew still clinging to the blades that hadn't yet been kissed by the sun. Early-riser that she may be, the cowgirl didn't usually get out of bed this early for just anyone. Wouldn't have, if not for crossing her brothers' paths early this morning on her way to the breakfast table. She planned on brewing a fresh pot of coffee -the Isle's janky version of it anyhow- and sitting on the front porch to watch the sunrise. What she got instead was a half-a*ssed memo - a simple, Tex is lookin' for ya.
And so, Jo found herself heading out into the pasture far earlier than normal, her hair messy and her toes wet. Had it been any of her other siblings, they could have waited at least until she was done with her morning routine. But it was Tex, and Tex was different - he came first, almost always. Reminding herself of this, and the fact that it had to be something important for him to summon her so early, Jo kept on until she saw her brother in the distance. Naturally, he was out at pasture with those spoiled horses.
"Heard'ja were lookin' for me, Slim." Said Jo, as she bridged the gap between herself and her brother, stifling a yawn. "Best be somethin' important."

Vera Raptor-Rex Daughter of Velociraptor
The head raptress felt nothing but love and admiration for her husband and mate. Okay lust had a pretty big play in it too, but that was obvious by the six kids running through their home, which they’d built from the ground up. Vera was not a big fan of the towns. They had way too much fighting and that threatened the safety of her young, so she and Vale picked up and moved into the outlands, which made it a bit harder to survive, but once a week Vera made a trip into town and gathered supplies that they just couldn’t get out there. Gather meaning steal. She could rob those goblins blind and they’d let her. The little whelps were afraid of a lion, they weren’t going to mess with a dinosaur especially not an alpha female. Their teeth were sharper, her claws longer, her eyes even did the weird thing that freaked even the goblins out. She actually enjoyed frightening the little things, gave her a bit of a purpose.
Tugging her violet hair into a ponytail at the back of her head the female couldn’t help but kiss her husband again softly. He was always such a sap with his words, she loved it. Her eyes narrowed when he went against what she said, it wasn’t like she’d attack him over it, but it was a sign of respect in their culture. A soft chirrr left her before she gave a bob of her head. His words were at her benefit. She could finally get some rest. “Very well. I will at least get them started, those kids will be a handful enough.”
She reached up and caressed his cheek, letting a claw drag along his jaw playfully. “Get cleaned up and the birds will be started by the time you come back and then I will nap. Those younglings of yours will be biting your ankles if you aren’t quick enough.”
She was teasing him, slightly. The girls, if hungry enough, might actually bite at his ankles. She definitely had scars to prove it. She’d snapped her teeth at them, but that was about as far as their punishment went.
Dismissing him to get cleaned up the female took the pheasants and put them in the sink. She wiped down her counter then grabbed her cleaver and did it to the first bird, then the second. She lopped off their heads and feet before clipping their wings. She put the extra parts aside in a bowl, then began defeathering the first bird, placing the feathers in the same bowl as the lopped off parts. She’d learned a technique over the years to remove feathers the fastest and had half of the first bird done by the time her husband returned. She washed her hands and arms in the sink before unwrapping a sleeping Vivian and holding her in her arms. “Thank you.” She murmured and kissed him before walking upstairs to put Vivian in her crib and herself in bed.

Zane Amana Negasi Child of Scar and Zira
Zane didn’t know his wife all that well yet, which sounded insane, but honestly wasn’t the worst thing his sister had ever done, so he couldn’t complain too much. Feeling the lamb nuzzled into him just made him feel so good. It felt right, which he could honestly say had never been true for previous relationships, if you could really call them that. Looking at his nervous little lambchop he played with her hair. She’d made him breakfast, how considerate. It made him smile. She really played the wife part well. He gently nuzzled his wife back.
“You don’t have to ask permission to go places Blossom. This isn’t your prison it’s your home. You’re free to come and go as you please.”
The male lion did catch on that she wanted him to go with her to the other territory, her former home. The place he was most definitely not welcome. The sleepy lion was playing with her hair some more when it clicked. “Do you want me to go with you? Back to the mafia I mean.”
Who did she have to tell? She didn’t report to them anymore. Oh. She probably had friends there she hadn’t told about her departure. It had been rather sudden after all. Zane sighed a little. “I’ll go with you lambchop. No one is going to touch a little hair on your head.” He whispered, nuzzling the sheep gently, holding her close. He adored her already. It probably wouldn’t be long before he was in love with her. “Then after I can show you all the cool secrets of Serpent Prep, though I don’t really think there are that many honestly.”

Claudette Delphine de Vil Child of Cruella
Claude had no expected the lioness to crumple so easily. Sure, the de Vil girl was strong, but she wasn’t that strong. If she had to fight Sanura without the gun she’d last a whole three minutes maximum. Unless she could lock the lioness in an arm bar, but that was severely unlikely to ever occur. She could never manage it when they were kids, she wouldn’t be able to manage it now, even though she really wanted to shatter the lioness’s arms and face. Well, all of her really. Claude would kill her. No. She wouldn’t.
Claude talked a big game about killing the one who killed the father of her child, but she couldn’t do that. San had been her first love, the most important person in her life at one point. Sanura had meant everything to her, until that one night when it all went downhill and that was so long before Richard had even been killed. The growl from the female on the ground dragged her out of her own thoughts. She hated Sanura, more than she’d ever hated another, but she only hated her so much because she still loved her. She would always love her. Even as they stood under the shadow of the building that had started their downfall. She loved her.
It wasn’t until Sanura was swaying on her feet that she even noticed the wound on her shoulder and her eye. One of her beautiful eyes was covered by a gauze. What in hell had the lioness gotten herself into now? Claude frowned at herself for caring and at Sanura when she demanded Claude could not be there. She scoffed. “I can go wherever I want Susan. You don’t get to control everything.” The warning growls from the lioness didn’t frighten the de Vil girl. Oh no. It enraged her. The girl narrowed her eyes. If Sanura wanted a fight she’d get one and by the looks of the lioness, Claude might actually win.
Sanura didn’t look angry though, she looked, well, like she was in pain. Claude stiffened. She could recognize that pain a mile away. It was the same pain she felt when Sanura called out Collie’s name instead of Claude’s. The pain she felt when Richard left and never came home to her. The same pain she felt when her son was born without a voice. Heartbreak. Claude couldn’t imagine the heartbreak was for her, not after all this time, and not after the fact Sanura had clearly chosen Collie over her. A foolish choice in her opinion, because look where it had gotten her.
Sanura stumbled to her and out of instinct Claude caught her. She tried to be angry, she tried to look fierce and uncaring, but the girl in her arms was her best friend and she was touching her in the ways she’d missed so much. “Kitty cat…” She whispered, closing her eyes as the lioness kissed her. It was certainly a twist on how things had gone the last time they kissed. Claude had kissed her that time and that had blown up in both of their faces.
Claude kept one hand on Sanura’s cheek and the other on her hip, keeping the other girl upright as she kissed her back, definitely not part of the plan for the next time she saw the lioness. Her heart pounded in her chest. Her hands trembled. She was afraid. What did this kiss even mean? What could it mean? How could she possibly forgive her? No..Maybe.. Claude was a fool, but she was a fool with a heart.
After several minutes of their soft kisses Claude pulled back and looked up into Sanura’s good eye. “I’ll take you home.” She told her, turning the lioness towards the ship and putting San’s arm on her shoulder and Claude looped her arm around the girl’s waist, helping her towards the docks, towards the ships. It was only a few blocks. It couldn’t hurt. Every angry plot she’d ever come up with had basically flown out the window anyway. No one would believe it if word got around that she helped the lioness, not even her own sister would believe it. Once on the ship Claude helped her inside to the captain’s quarters quickly, thanking whatever gods there were that none of the crew were on the deck, so no one saw her. Claude lowered the lioness into her chair and out of habit she brushed Sanura’s hair out of her face. “What am I going to do with you Kitty Cat? What am I going to do with you?” she asked softly, shaking her head a little. Claude stood up to leave, but part of her didn’t want to. She wanted to stay with the lioness. She was clearly in need of help, the poor thing could barely stand and if she collapsed after just Claude running into her, she needed help. “Tell me what you need Sanura. Let me help you.”

Jeanette Pearl Sparrow Child of Captain Jack Sparrow
Jeanette didn’t stir when Henry left the bed. She didn’t even stir as he walked up the creaky ladder, or across the deck. Him talking to himself didn’t wake her either. The night before had drained her entirely. She’d never done that before. Not once. Yet it was entirely amazing. For a doom and gloom guy Hal knew how to treat a girl and make her feel, well, loved and safe and just warm in every way possible.
It wasn’t until Hal was probably halfway to the transfers’ shack that she even opened her eyes. Stretching out, her stiff muscles she shuddered a little and rolled over, expecting Hal to be there, but she was wrong. Sitting up she looked around the room in sudden panic. He’d slept with her and left her. Her hands trembled at the awful thought. It even made her nauseous to think that Henry would do that to her, then again they’d only known each other a day. That made everything worse. She’d said over and over again that she never wanted to be like his other girls, yet here she was alone and f-.
A note. Jeanette picked it up and looked at the quick scrawl of her boyfriend. “Idiot.” She murmured to herself. The note was all it took to take her off of her internal panic episode. He hadn’t just abandoned her. He’d gone for a walk. Jeanette climbed out of the bed and pulled her clothes on before making the bed, which probably hadn’t been done in, probably ever actually. She set the note down and looked around the room. It was a mess.
The girl rocked forward onto her toes, then back onto her heels in thought. Hal hadn’t asked her to stick around, but would it be rude if she just up and left? Yeah probably. No, it would be rude to overstay your welcome. But what if he wanted her to stay? Jeanette battled over both possibilities for several minutes, though she wasn’t entirely sure how many. Finally, she decided to stay at least until he got back from his walk. He probably wouldn’t be gone that long anyway. Jeanette sat back down on the bed and just sat there. After about an eternity, which was really only five minutes the girl jumped up and decided to clean. It was better than sitting there overthinking her decision a thousand times in the time it would take her Henry to get back. Using a hair tie from around her wrist she pulled back her hair into a braid then looked around. Where to begin? Where to begin?
Nettie managed to find a big barrel and filled it with water. Though soap was actually much harder to find on the ship. She’d gathered a load of his dirty clothes and filled the barrel, soaking and scrubbing each item clean. Let’s just say the process took a very long time, there were a lot of dirty clothes. Piles taller than her in almost every corner. Plus the clothes were so worn and dirty that she had to keep changing out the water for clean. The drying was another trick. While hunting down the soap she’d found that Captain hook was not on board, so she felt safe enough to come and go on the deck as she pleased, so with every load Hal’s clothes when up on the deck to dry from the harsh sea breeze. With the wind whipping his clothes dry so quickly Nettie was able to exchange clothes ever three loads, which meant she didn’t have to use half as much space drying out the clothing.
Fifteen loads of laundry later, Nettie dumped the last bit of murky water over the side of the boat and checked the clothes to see if anything was dry, then took what was dry down. She folded everything as it had gone onto the bed, which was now covered in stacks. Nettie had waited to put anything away until after it was all cleaned up because she didn’t really know where to put anything. She’d swept and dusted and even cleaned out the drawers and washed and dried the sheets already. Bed had been remade, except the thick blanket, it was still wet and drying. She’d certainly been efficient. Keeping busy was something she required. If she just sat there and thought all day she’d probably walk herself down the plank. The nagging voice of her father in her head had brought her to the edge several times. To say she had daddy issues would be the understatement of the century.
Jeanette looked at the pile of clothes and the empty dresser and then at the pile of clothes again. Henry was already going to call her crazy, she may as well drive it home. So, the female pirate put all of the clothes away as well and collected all of the random things she’d found in the room, including other girls clothes and put them on top of the dresser, the girl clothing washed and folded as well. Satisfied with her cleaning spree she went up to collect the last of it and looked around. She’d accomplished a lot in just a few hours. It wasn’t even lunch time yet. It was actually shocking how well she’d managed to get on with it all. Gathering the last of it she slipped downstairs and into Henry’s room, just as she heard thudding above her head. The staggered step and a big of crashing made it clear it was not Henry, but the other Hook and he definitely was not alone. Her heart hammered in her chest and she climbed onto Henry’s bed and sat very still, making sure not to make any noise, but she could hear every single one of Hook’s, no wonder Henry hated being on this ship with his father, it was disgusting.

Bala Vira Singh Daughter of Bagheera & Vitani
Bala tried really hard not to bud into other people’s business. But when some strange, pirate looking Isle boy showed up at their doorstep, asking for Jenny, it was hard not to get kind of curious about it. However, Bala did her best not to let that get to her, and instead she focused on going to grab her roommate. However as she walked down the hallway, she came face to face with her brother. ”Basu, what are you doing?” She questioned, raising her brow as she looked at him.
Basu shrugged, peering past her to look over at the pirate guy that Tierney was talking to. ”I was getting breakfast and I turned around and there’s this guy here, who is he?” Basu asked in a hushed hiss as he looked from Bala to the pirate and then back to Bala, he calmed down a little though, after looking him over for a second longer. ”...He’s cute. Why is there a cute guy here? Who is he here for? I know he’s not a transfer...” Of course Basu would know he wasn’t a transfer, if this guy was a transfer, Bala’s twin would have very likely already crushed on him.
Bala rolled her eyes at her brother. ”He’s here for Jenny, I don’t know why and I’m not going to ask because that’s none of our business, now you need to chill out,” Bala told him, watching as her brother eyed the strange pirate suspiciously.
”I’m gonna go talk to him,” Basu decided, taking a step out to go and talk to the pirate boy. Luckily, Bala stopped him, instantly reaching out to grab the back of his shirt and pull him back. The poor Isle boy already seemed overwhelmed as it was with Tierney there, Bala wasn’t about to make him deal with her crazy brother as well.
She gave him a stern look, pointing a finger at him. ”You are going to do no such thing, Basu. He already seems stressed out, and you are not going to add to it. You’re gonna get up and leave instead, go to school early, you hear me?” Bala questioned, giving her brother a look to tell him that she was not to be argued with.
Didn’t stop Basu from trying anyways. ”But-“
Bala shook her head, pushing Basu forward, clearly she would just have to get him out of here by herself. ”No, no buts, come on, move it Zuzu,” Bala ordered, pushing him towards the door, passing by Tierney and the pirate on the way.
While pushing Basu towards the door, Bala caught a glimpse of Tierney talking to the pirate, though the conversation seemed very one sided, as their guest hadn’t been able to get a word in edgewise yet. “So then I was like ‘woah dude’ and he was like ‘woah’ and I was like ‘woaaah’ you know?” Tierney asked, looking up at the pirate for a second before he continued on with his conversation.
Once Bala had closed the door on Basu, banishing him to the outside of the shack, she hurried back down the hallway to fetch Jenny, opening the door to their shared room. She smiled at the rabbit-fox girl for a moment, letting out a small, unsure chuckle. ”Hey Jenny, there’s a pirate in the main room, he says he needs to talk to you, do uh, do you want me to tell him to go away?” Bala questioned.

Arlo Ansel Muntz Son of Alpha & Appoline
Waiting around for Krunk would have been easier to do if Zizi wasn’t in the kitchen, working on whatever it was the crazy girl had planned now. However, Arlo liked to think he did fairly good. After the last bit of their conversation, they had both fallen quiet and Arlo had taken to waiting for his boyfriend in silence. The dog boy glance around for a second, tapping his fingers repeatedly on his lap. Everything was fine of course. Arlo had learned to not take anything Zizi said seriously by now. However that didn’t stop him from worrying just a little.
What if she was right? Krunk couldn’t have tired of him already, could he have? No, that was crazy talk...right? Now, Arlo considered himself plenty capable of handling his problems by himself, he could take care of himself just fine. However that didn’t stop small seeds of worry from planting themselves in his stomach. Zizi wasn’t right though, Krunk would be back any second with an explanation of where he had gone and everything would be fine.
Then, just as Arlo had predicted, Krunk arrived and all his worries disappeared. A wave of relief rushed over him as Krunk walked over to him and Arlo smiled happily up at his boyfriend, if he had a tail it would surely be wagging. Krunk was here, he hadn’t left him, everything was fine. It probably shouldn’t have taken such a big weight of his shoulders, but it did and despite his best efforts to remain cool and collected, Arlo couldn’t help but show just how happy he was, and continued to smile happily up at him.
”Morning Cupcake,” he greeted, kissing Krunk back. Once he pulled away, Arlo looked down at the food Krunk had brought, breathing in the smell. ”Mhmm, it smells great,” Arlo told him, kissing Krunk again.
”Gross,” Zizi interrupted from the kitchen entrance, a cup full of something that Arlo was pretty sure shouldn’t be ingested in her hands. ”We get it, you’re in love, it’s sickening,” Zizi informed, taking a gulp of the oozing and fizzling drink as she turned away. ”Anyways, I’m off, you two should have the whole house to be gross now, cya,” Zizi told them, grabbing a torn up jacket and some shoes as she walked out the door, leaving Arlo and Krunk alone.
Arlo watched her go, instantly feeling himself relax once the door was closed and Krunk’s younger sister was gone.

Emrys Grimhilde so of Evil Queen and Magic Mirror Emrys let out a laugh at his brother's words. It was an easy opening to be annoyingly proud. There wasn't a way to deny the food tasted good though, as Emrys picked at the eggs. Soon after his words, he tried the eggs and was pleasantly surprised once more. The eggs turned out decent too. Em hadn't even known that Elfie could cook, much less a decent meal. Perhaps it was more than decent and actually good, Em had to admit. When Elfie continued to talk, a bright idea came to Em. "Maybe you should cook more often."
Em felt a small panic as he re-realized Del was in the room and she was someone who normally cooked, "Not that there is anything wrong with the other food. But if you made more food, Elfie, then it would kinda give a break on the others." It was just a suggestion. A suggestion he followed by putting some eggs on his toast. Eggs were good, toast was good, might as well combine them. With his egg-covered toast, Em brought it up to his mouth and took a bite. Delicious.
While he was eating egg toast, he listened to his sister's plans for the day before answering himself. Sounded like she was going to have a fun day. When he was addressed, he gave a little smile as he answered, "I am very glad you two asked." He paused for dramatic effect. "I don't have any proper plans," the 14-year old admitted with a shrug. He'd most likely go and see if Fayette would like to hang out with him today.

Kimberly Alexis Slim Son of Alameda Slim & Katherine Barlow
”Stop wriggling about Ace, I cant put your saddle on when ya keep movin’ like this,” Tex grumbled, making the horse stop as he finished placing the saddle on his back. ”There, that should stick now,” he said with a nod of his head as he took a step back to look at his horse, a smile on his face as he reached a hand out to pet Ace. ”Yeah, yer a good boy, Ace,” he told him as Ace nuzzled his nose at Tex. In response the cowboy let out a small laugh, petting Ace again. ”Yeah, love ya too, partner,” he told Ace, patting his nose one last time.
In the background Tex caught a glimpse of Ranger chasing after one of Kit’s chickens, letting out gleeful barks as he ran after the birds. Tex shook his head, jabbing a finger in the direction of the collie-mix. ”Ranger, you best start leavin’ those chickens alone before Kit catches ya!” Tex scolded the dog, shaking his head as he watched Ranger come to a stop, looking back at Tex with his head bowed and ears back, knowing he was in trouble. ”Yeah, get over here, Ranger, you can join me ‘n Ace,” Tex reassured him, watching as the dog began to pad over to him, footsteps behind him alerting him to the presence of his sister as well.
Tex smiled again, turning to face Jo as she approached. He had been meaning to talk to Jo lately, but schedules were sketchy, especially with how busy everyone at the stables typically were. He hadn’t found a good enough time to talk to his sister. That was going to change today. ”Mornin’ Jo,” Tex greeted with a tip of his hat in her direction. ”Sorry for missin’ breakfast, I had to get out here bright ‘n early.”
Okay technically it was less of Tex getting out here first thing this morning and more of him staying out late the previous night after Celeste had left to finish up some extra chores and he had fallen asleep in the stables, never actually making it back to the house. It wasn’t all that uncommon for the cowboy to do that, he often stayed up so late he would fall asleep late at night and just pick up where he left off when he woke up. Which seemed all the more obvious by the straw sticking out of his hair and his ruffled up clothes that he wore.
Not that Tex seemed to mind that. Instead he glanced down at Jo’s feet, making a face at them. ”Where’re yer shoes, Jo? We’re goin’ ridin’, go grab Alaska and some shoes,” he instructed, pointing down at her feet as he turned back to Ace, climbing up onto the saddle. ”We can take the horses out through the Outlands, Ace ‘n I found a right good trail the other day, we can use that,” he told her, now perched up on his horse, who let out an approving neigh as if to agree with him.

Basu Matil Singh Son of Bagheera & Vitani
At the mention of Earl’s blanket, Basu cast a glance back to the raggedy fabric, nose crinkling up in both disgust and displeasure of the thought of having that thing in his room. It probably had bed bugs. ”...That’s okay Earl. I have enough blankets for you at the shack. You can leave this one here,” he told him, eyeing the blanket a little longer as if it was covered in all sorts of filth. Basu would rather die than be anywhere near that grimy blanket. Thinking of Earl actually sleeping with it every night caused him enough stress, he didn’t need that near him as well. ”In fact, I have a blanket I could give you. It’s soft, fuzzy, and warm. I’m sure you’ll like it,” he told him, finally returning his gaze to Earl. Basu had of course brought two blankets with him when coming to the Isle. His normal one and one for cold nights. However he only really needed one. Earl could have the warm extra one. It was leagues better than what he had now, that was for sure.
A small sigh of relief escaped him when Earl took the skull back. Holding it had been an experience he had not wanted to repeat, however that didn’t seem to be up to him, as Earl had already grabbed yet another bone and held it out to him. At least this one wasn’t a horse skull.
Tentatively, the leopon grasped the femur bone in his hand, inspecting it for a few moments before holding it back to Earl to take back. Figuring he had held it for long enough. However something else Earl said had caught his attention. ”Clementine?” He could only assume that’s what Earl had meant. ”Who is she?” A cousin? A sibling? A relative of some sort? A friend? A...girlfriend? No. Earl couldn’t possibly have a girlfriend...right? Well of course he could, after all, Earl was sweet and energetic, and cute. He could easily see someone liking him. Suddenly the thought of Earl actually having a girlfriend or boyfriend of some sort didn’t seem quite so out there.
For some reason that made the son of Bagheera and Vitani feel uneasy. Earl might be a tad weird, and perhaps not the brightest out there, but he was sweet, fun, caring, animated, optimistic, cute, and happy. He’d be shocked if no one did like the hyena-jackal like that. Basu shifted slightly where he sat, dark brown eyes trailing along the dirty, dusty floor of the ship. ”...Earl,” he began, glancing back up at him. ”Do you...do you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend?” realizing that that was somewhat of a weird question to ask out of the blue, Basu quickly continued. ”I was just realizing that we hardly know anything about each other and it seemed like an interesting question to ask,” came the quick rambling from the panther, eyes once again locked on the floor below, cheeks flushing a light red in embarrassment.

Earl Fisi son of ed and kijana
Basu had a blanket that was not only soft, but warm and fuzzy? Those three words caught Earl’s attention faster than anything else could have, probably because he rather enjoyed warm things, but “soft” and “fuzzy” were words that were a bit odd to him. Fuzzy was like what his hair felt like, right? Fuzzy. And soft was what cats felt like, though that meant “soft” for Earl was more like a bit rough to the touch. Animals were well taken care of on the Isle, but they struggled just as much as their owners did. ”You’d really give me your blanket?” He asked after a moment of thinking Basu’s words through. Nobody really shared much on the Isle, let alone just gave somebody something that was hard to come by like warm blankets. Serpent Prep was pretty good about providing for its members, but some people had more of a priority when it came to giving out certain items. Nanji and Batini would get things such as good clothes or the “fresher” food because they had Nandra. Njeri and Chase had started receiving the same when Njeri had come forward about her pregnancy. Priority went to the families with kids and to the kids themselves. Knowing the system it was obvious who Serpent Prep cared for the most - the members who could not yet take care of themselves on their own.
For a moment there Earl had forgotten Basu wasn’t a native Serpent Prep member. They had been having so much fun together, and Basu had just fit right in with Earl, that the hyena-jackal had forgotten all about the leopon being new to this. Though there was some surprise in his yellow eyes about him not knowing who Clementine was. Hadn’t Chase made sure everybody knew about her by now? Oh well.
A wide smile came across the boy’s face, and if he weren’t human he had a fast wagging tail right now. ”She’s Njeri and Chase’s baby that was born yesterday! I want to give her a bone.” The femur bone would be perfect for the newest member of the crew, Earl was sure of it.
Then Basu asked a question that was even random for Earl.
The canine cocked his head to the side, looking at Basu for a moment. Was he trying to crack a joke? What had prompted the question? Earl quickly got out of his confusion with a shake of his head. His smile returned. ”I’ve never had one of those before. Batini had a boyfriend, but now he’s her husband, ha!” He chuffed happily. ”Are they fun, Basu? Do you have one?” Of course Earl would throw the question right back to the leopon. He was curious about Basu now, and if Basu had a boyfriend or girlfriend then maybe Sanura could marry them while they were on the Isle. That would be fun even if, for some odd reason deep down, the thought of Basu getting married didn’t quite settle right with the hyena boy.

Basu Matil Singh Son of Bagheera & Vitani
Relief flooded through him when Earl explained who Clementine was. A baby. Well that was a much better answer than what Basu had feared it might be. Not that he cared or anything, of course. Obviously he didn’t care. ”Oh, well that’s much better,” he said out loud, realized what he had said and how once again it seemed a bit odd to say, and continued on quickly. ”I mean, that’s good. Babies are always good news. I’m afraid I don’t know her parents though,” he admitted. Though to be fair, Basu was a solitary cat. When he wasn’t with Earl he was either at school where he pretty much just had Khari to talk to, or he was at the shack, alone and avoiding everyone there. It left very little room for getting to know the other Isle dwellers. So far Basu only knew two of them. Earl and Kyra. He should really get out more.
Then the topic changed and Basu felt himself anxious for Earl’s response. Sitting there in anticipation for Earl’s answer, Basu tried not to focus too much on it. He shouldn’t care this much. He didn’t care this much. He couldn’t. That lead to follow up personal questions that he just wasn’t ready to ask himself. Such as just why he was working himself up so much over Earl’s answer. Though deep, deep down, pushed far down and out of the way, the answer seemed quite obvious, all he need do is reach out and accept it. But this was Basu and clearly that wasn’t going to happen today.
Earl answered him and Basu was met with another wave of relief, perhaps even bigger than the one he had felt before. Earl did not have a girlfriend or a boyfriend. ”Oh good-“ Basu really needed to learn not to talk in situations like this. He kept digging himself a bigger hole for his grave. ”Good for anyone that might want to date you, hahah...lucky people, ha ha ha eh...” The inner Basu in him was mortified. His brain was screaming at him to stop. Just. Stop. Talking. Yet the connection from his cranium to his tongue had long since been cut off and without any proper guidance on what to say, all that fell from his mouth was horrible, embarrassing rambling.
Then suddenly the tables had turned and Earl had thrown that very question back at Basu himself. His face flushed red at the question, as if he hadn’t expected it to be thrown his way. “No,” the words were hard and harsh on his tongue. ”No. I do not have anyone like that in my life and I haven’t ever dated anyone either-sure I’ve had crushes, many of them. But while I might like others, they don’t typically like me.” There was no stopping him now, good luck shutting him up. “I’m not likable like that, not like you, I just scare others away and embarrass myself.” Sort of like what you were doing now. Please stop talking. Dig too much further and you’ll be at the center of the earth.
However Basu did not stop talking. ”I mean, it’s not as if a relationship wouldn’t be nice, it would be. However it’s just not going to happen. Don’t worry though, I’m sure you’ll discover what one is like eventually, sooner or later someone will want you and you them, you’re wonderful Earl, I’m sure others have seen that-“ Stop. Talking.
The connection from brain to tongue might not be working any longer, but the mind couldn’t sit back and take this while it happened. Something had to be done. So Basu pulled out a second chocolate bar, and as soon as it was unwrapped it was promptly shoved in his mouth.
With a mouth full of chocolate, the brain finally seemed to get a connection going again and as soon as that connection was up, Basu was met with pounds of embarrassment falling down upon him from the sky. It was as if he could physically feel the bricks hitting against him as he finally seemed aware of everything he had said, and in that moment Basu wished for nothing more than to run away to a far off land, bury himself in chocolate, and die.
Unable to just sit there and take it, Basu stood up and made a B-line for the door, mumbling something about leaving in a rush and just like that the leopon was gone. Out of the room and wandering the ship to find a way out. He would not be able to show his face here again, or anywhere around Earl. It was nice while it lasted but Basu had dug himself a grave and now he had to die in it.
With any luck he’d run into some Kakamora on his way out and they’d do him in. It wasn’t the death he would have picked for himself, but he didn’t bring enough chocolate to kill him here on the Isle, so death by coconut and obnoxious Kakamora kids seemed like the next best thing.

Earl Fisi son of ed and kijana
This was probably the most Earl had ever heard Basu talk. It was interesting to hear what all Basu could ramble on about, from people being lucky that Earl was still available, to Basu having experienced crushes before and thinking a relationship would be nice, and even to the leopon explaining how somebody would be lucky to have Earl as their boyfriend. It was a lot for the hyena boy to take in, but he pretty much got the gist of it. It left an idea in his mind, even made him laugh at the idea because it was just so brilliant and great and would solve Basu’s problems - or so that’s how Earl was thinking about this.
But before anything could be said, Basu was rushing out of the door.
Surprise flickered over Earl’s face. Where was Basu going? Why was he leaving? Had something happened? Without any thought behind it, Earl put down the femur bone he had been holding and rushed after the leopon. ”Basu! Basu! Where are you going?” As far as the hyena-jackal knew Basu had never been on the ship before, that’s why he was showing him around right now. The Auradon transfer would have no idea which way to go or how to even navigate what was down here. Even Earl still sometimes got lost, and he lived in the ship now.
First there had been surprise and now there was worry. The canine boy had a thought flash through his mind; had his bones told Basu something rude? Had the bones made Basu leave? Perhaps he would have a talk with them later tonight before bed, tell them that they needed to be nice to Basu or else he’d use them as chew toys. The bones knew what happened to bad apples. They became chew toys. Earl hated punishing his bones, but sometimes it had to be done. ”Don’t listen to the bones, Basu, they just need to get used to you!” He called out, voice echoing throughout the hall.
Eventually the son of Ed caught up to Bagheera’s son. He reached out and grabbed Basu’s arm, remembering from earlier to be gentle with him. A whine rumbled in the back of Earl’s throat. ”Did my bones say something mean? Who was it?” His yellow eyes were round with concern and worry. What if his horse skull had been the one to be rude to Basu, or the femur? Earl didn’t want those two bones to have been the rude ones...he really liked them and would hate to see them be broken apart like all his former chew toys.
After a moment what Basu had said earlier came back to Earl’s mind. A small smile danced across his face. ”I could be your boyfriend, Basu! Wouldn’t that be fun?” Now Earl needed to be the one to stop talking before he made things worse than they already were for poor Basu.

Basu Matil Singh Son of Bagheera & Vitani
Okay, full disclosure, Basu had no idea where he was or where he was going. It made running away from Earl and that entire conversation a lot harder. However he did his best, turning random corners and running down hall after hall. Finally the leopon felt as if he had gotten far enough away to take a moment to himself and pressed his back against the nearest wall.
Running a hand through his hair and down his face, Basu’s back slid against the ship’s wall. The panther boy let out an embarrassment groan. ”What did I just do?” he asked himself, mortified. Of course the boy had had crushes before and handled those fine. Granted he usually just avoided them until the feelings went away and he could return to his life. But there had been some that couldn’t be ignored. Such as both his roommates back on Auradon. It wasn’t as if he could just avoid Hi-hi or Allen, yet he had never made such a fool of himself in front of them. He just prickled it up an extra level in hopes it would drive the feelings away.
Yet here he was, rambling about relationships and such on in front of Earl, practically admitting to liking the hyena-jackal, and running away. Oh Basu you made a fool of yourself, that’s for sure. Not only that but after that whole ordeal he could no longer swim in the river of denial. If he had learned anything from that disaster, it was that he clearly liked Earl. This wasn’t unusual either. It never took much for Basu to like someone. It had only been a matter of time before he gained a crush on someone from the Isle.
However this time it was different for reasons Basu couldn’t quite explain. Perhaps because it was Earl, and the hyena-jackal had been nothing but kind to him, hadn’t seemed to notice the prickles, and actually seemed to enjoy his company. Unlike every other crush he had had, this time Basu felt comfortable around him. He didn’t feel the need to wall up with prickles and hope for the best. This was different and that was partially what bothered him about it all.
Shaking his head, Basu got up from the wall, rubbing the bridge of his nose. ”What a mess. I’ll never be able to show my face here or anywhere in Wharf Town again. Maybe I can transfer to Dragon Hall...” at least there school would actually be important.
As he was about ready to start finding a way out again, he was greeted with the voice of a familiar hyena-jackal. Earl had gone after him and apparently for some reason, was talking about bones of all things.
With eyes wide at the thought of running into Earl again after that mess, Basu bolted for it again. Of course it wasn’t as if anything was on his side today. Not his aching body, not this maze of a ship, not his brain to tongue connection, and most of all certainly not the universe. Naturally it didn’t take Earl long to find him.
As soon as Earl gripped his arm, Basu tensed, slowly turning to look at him, chocolate brown eyes wide as if he was a deer caught in the headlights, or a young black panther caught hacking up a hairball in front of his friends. At first Basu said nothing, just attempted to get his arm back.
However even that was cut short with what came out of Earl’s mouth next.
”I could be your boyfriend, Basu! Wouldn’t that be fun?”
It was as if everything had suddenly frozen. Even time itself slowed. Did Earl really mean what he said? Did he even fully understand it or the meaning behind those words? Surely he couldn’t, didn’t, wouldn’t. For a good few moments all Basu did was stare at Earl with those brown eyes of his that only seemed to be getting bigger by the minute. ”Er-Earl,” he stammered out tentatively.
Earl couldn’t possibly mean what he said, he couldn’t. As if deciding this was the most logical answer, Basu took his arm back, face hot enough that it felt as if he was burning his cheeks.
He made it half way down the hall before stopping in his tracks. What if Earl did know what he was talking about? What if he knew fully well what he had just suggested? The son of Bagheera cast Earl a rather suspicious side glance, which he kept for a few moments before swerving on his heels to once again face the son of Ed. ”...Earl. Do you know what you’re suggesting here?” He asked as he started back towards him.
His eyes slitted into suspicion as he reached a finger out and poked Earl in the chest, and if he had a tail it would surely be swishing around behind him much like a cat’s would. ”This is not something to joke about. Do not toy with me. Don’t say something you don’t mean or understand. Because if you’re being serious and you know what you’re suggesting, we need to have a serious talk about all of this,” Basu told him, leaning back with his arms folded.
Basu eyed Earl for a moment or two longer and then seemed to realize what he had said and a small wave of panic washed over him. What was he doing? This could end so badly. Basu you idiot, flee, flee while you still can.
Right.
Listening to the little voice in his head that urged him to run away from this whole ordeal, Basu turned back around and once again began to pad away. Honestly he really needed to make up his mind at this point. One moment he was running away and the next, demanding that they talk about this situation.

Earl Fisi son of ed and kijana
For Earl the topic of boyfriends and girlfriends didn’t mean embarrassment or frustration. To him it was just something that a lot of people had in their lifetimes, some people having more than others. Some people had one boyfriend or girlfriend and stayed with them for the rest of their lives, like Chase and Njeri, or Batini and Nanji. Even Zane and Blossom, though Earl was pretty sure they had never really known about one another until their wedding, but that was okay, Earl was sure they loved each other very much and he was excited for them. He really needed to give them a gift for their wedding...maybe a vertebra? Those were always good bones to give to a newly wedded couple.
His thoughts were pulled away when Basu spoke up again. He blinked, looking at the leopon as he asked a few things to clarify what Earl had previously said. The hyena-jackal nodded, a smile still on his face. ”Of course I do!” A laugh followed his words as Basu poked him in the chest. It always tickled when the leopon did that, a laugh never failing to come from Earl. ”I like jokes, Basu, but I understand what boyfriends are,” he pointed out with a firm nod of his head. Boyfriends were special friends, Earl knew that. They were allowed to cuddle one another and have sleepovers whenever they wanted, and didn’t they already do that? They kinda cuddled and Basu had suggested a sleepover only about thirty minutes ago. Didn’t that make them almost boyfriends already? ”We can talk about it if you want to, ahaha, but I know what boyfriends are. Batini had one, remember? I told you that! She married her boyfriend and he’s now her husband. We could be like that,” chimed the hyena-jackal, yellow eyes looking directly at the leopon. It would be nice to be Basu’s boyfriend; it would be fun, too. Surely the Auradon transfer would think of it like that as well.
But apparently something had spooked him yet again. At least he wasn’t running away this time.
Earl hopped forward, not wanting Basu to get too far. Once again he reached out for the other man, head tilted to the side in question. ”Why do you keep walking away? If you really want to see the ship I can show you, that’s why we’re here!” If there was a certain part of the ship that Basu really wanted to see then all he had to do was let Earl know and the hyena would take him there; he didn’t have to keep running away.

Basu Matil Singh Son of Bagheera & Vitani
Basu paused once Earl went on to explain that yes he knew what boyfriends were. Did he really? Part of Basu still had to wonder. The leopon had had many crushes in his life time, granted most only lasted a week or two and he never once acted on them, but the crushes had still been there. He could list them each by name, though he wasn’t going to do that right now, as that would take up far too much time.
However in all the years, with all the crushes that Basu had had before, none of them, not one had ever reciprocated these feelings. Or if they did, they never said anything. Which of course Basu could understand as he never actually said anything either. However it still seemed highly unlikely to him that anyone out there could have genuinely liked the prickly boy like that. It was an odd cycle. He was prickly and people didn’t like him, so instead of being nicer he just kept being prickly until he likes someone else and then amplified the prickliness as some sort of weird defense mechanism. You would think by now that he would learn that this was a flawed system, yet he kept at it. People didn’t like him because he was prickly and he was prickly because people didn’t like him. It was a hard cycle to break.
Yet here Earl was, saying that yes he knew what he was talking about and still suggesting that they could be together. This had definitely never happened before and Basu had no clue how to act. In fact, due to his lack of any semblance of an idea on what to say or do, all Basu did was stand there like an idiot.
Finally, after what seemed like much too long a time to wait to say anything, Basu managed to get out a few words. ”You- you mean it? You’d really-really uh, you’d date...me?” He asked, clearly confused. ”I...” Crap what did he say now?
No seriously. What. Did. He. Say? That would be nice? I’d like that? You like me? Are you sure you’re feeling okay? Let’s be boyfriends?
None of these seemed like acceptable answers to Basu.
Before he could think of anything else to say, his tongue beat his brain to it. The connection really did seem bad today. ”Okay,” the words slipped from his tongue before he could think of anything better to say.
The leopon boy stood there for another minute, face getting warmer and warmer by the second. The silence from him dragged on for a few more moments, rethinking everything he just said in the last half an hour or so, right down to that last “okay” that fell from his mouth before he could stop it.
It didn’t take long for screaming to start up in his mind as he screamed at himself...or not really at himself, it was more just like endless thought screaming into the void. Either way, the screaming took over everything else just enough for him to fall apart. ”Uh...Er...I mean, you know what maybe I should just leave,” Basu decided, as there was simply no saving this conversation, there was no rescuing Basu from this horror he had put himself into, so naturally the only option was to escape.
The universe however, did not seem to agree, for as soon as he turned to leave Basu tripped over his shoes and fell to the floor of the ship, face planting into the ground below him. He swore, slowly getting back up to his feet. Everything ached before that, but now it ached even more. He let out a few more curses and then muttered something about embarrassment before he hurriedly continued on.
Basu still had no idea where he was going, but he did know that he had to get away from here no matter what.
Though luck was really not on his side today, for as he hurried to escape Earl, this boat, and everything he had just said and done, he ran straight into a wall. Hard. Pain rushed to his already injured head as Basu began to topple over. Perhaps it was because of the injuries he had sustained the day before, or maybe he had no will power to keep himself awake anymore, but no matter what it was, the face plant into the floor followed by the run in with the wall was enough to send him over.
The panther boy wobbled around on shaking legs as the edges of his vision began to fade out. He blinked in an attempt to bring the light back, but it did nothing. The last thing Basu saw was Earl and a hint of green in the distance before falling to the floor with a thud, once again unconscious.
- Tara Jinni Croc Daughter of Tick Tock Croc & Joanna
Tara had only recently gotten to the ship and had made a go for below deck. She had some things to pick up from her room and wanted to grab them before the ship got too crowded. However it seemed she wasn’t the only one with the idea to come to the ship right now, for as soon as she turned a corner, the green haired girl found Earl...and some random unconscious guy on the floor in front of him. What had happened here?
With a raised brow, the crocodile girl walked towards the mess. ”Earl...” She started warily, kneeling down on the floor to poke the unconscious boy. It did nothing though and he continued to lie there, unresponsive. ”What did you do?” She questioned, turning her startling green gaze up to the hyena-jackal pirate. The only other person here for the crime scene...if it could be called that.
Quickly the girl got back up to her feet, folding her arms as she faced her fellow crew mate. ”Why do we have some random, weird, unconscious guy on our floor?”

Earl Fisi son of ed and kijana
Earl had never thought much of boyfriends before. Some people had them, some people didn’t. It was the same thing with girlfriends. Some had them, some didn’t. The hyena-jackal boy had never had either of those before in his life, and he had never been upset by it. There had been a few times when he had thought about how nice it would be to have a cuddle partner after being around Nanji and Batini, but those thoughts had faded away just as quickly as they had appeared in his mind. They were nice thoughts to have at times, but that was about all they were - nice thoughts. But then there was Basu. He was nice and fun, had very soft hands, and gave out bits of chocolate here and there. He was great to be around, and Earl already couldn’t imagine his life without the leopon around. Maybe being his boyfriend would be fun. No, he knew it would be fun. Earl knew for a fact that being Basu’s boyfriend would be the best thing ever. Maybe Basu would see it that way, too.
Of course Earl would date Basu. He was the hyena’s best friend, and from what he knew boyfriends were supposed to be best friends. That’s how it worked, right? Earl was sure that’s how boyfriends worked anyway, so he was going to go with it.
The hyena-jackal nodded with a large smile spreading across his face. ”Of course I would! You’re my best friend, and boyfriends are best friends. I’m your best friend, right?” He asked with a tilt of his head, hoping to get a positive response from the son of Bagheera and Vitani. If Earl was Basu’s best friend as well then being each others boyfriend wouldn’t be too big of a leap. It would be fun, and it made sense. Earl was starting to really like the idea of being the transfer’s boyfriend. They could be together to much more and they could cuddle and have all the sleep overs they wanted, and then in about six months they could get married. That’s how long people stayed boyfriends and girlfriends before getting married, right? That sounded right. Earl nodded to himself. Yeah, six months give or take.
A wide grin spread across the pirate’s face when he the ‘okay’ fell out of Basu’s mouth. Was that an okay for them being boyfriends? Did that mean they were boyfriends now? Earl was going to take it as that. What could he do as his first act as Basu’s boyfriend? Oh! ”If you’re my boyfriend now you need a bone! Was there any you really liked? I have this really nice rib bone you could have.” Basu would be sure to love it. It was a pristine bone, in very good condition. Even people who didn’t appreciate bones would be sure to love it.
The crew member’s thoughts turned completely around when the leopon went on to say that he should probably leave. ”What? Basu, no, wait!” Before Earl could leap forward to try and hold the feline back, Basu was already running for it; however, the forces of the universe did not want him to get away. Earl watched with wide eyes as his friend - boyfriend? - face planted to the ground. ”Basu, are you okay?” The hyena-jackal continued rushing forward, concern plastering his facial features. Only yesterday had Basu been terribly injured by the Kakamora, and Earl didn’t want the transfer to gain any more injuries. But, once again, fate had decided unfavorably for Basu.
”Basu, Basu!” Earl called out, stopping only when he was next to the fallen leopon. He quickly got down on his knees, nudging Basu frantically to try and get him to wake up. ”It’s not time to go to sleep. Basu!” He continued nudging the other boy, only to stop when a familiar voice entered the air.
Earl turned, spotting Tara as she investigated the scene. ”I asked Basu if he wanted to be my boyfriend, aha, and he ran and hit the wall and now he’s almost dead like he was yesterday, but I don’t have any coconuts to throw right now,” Earl whined, very concerned for Basu as he lay there unconscious. Going unconscious twice within 24 hours surely wasn’t good. Maybe Tara could help. Tara was nice, Earl liked the crocodile girl and her green hair.

Tara Jinni Croc Daughter of Tick Tock Croc & Joanna
Grabbing the boy under his arms, Tara began to pull the unconscious leopon-Basu, apparently, up, glancing back at Earl for a second. ”Boyfriend, aye? Good for you, Earl. Now, you wanna help me pick your boyfriend up? We can’t just leave him on the floor,” she explained with a shake of her head. ”Let’s get him back to your room and then you’ll have to keep an eye on him, a’right? I’m no doctor but I know you gotta watch him for awhile, make sure his symptoms don’t get worse,” Tara told the hyena-jackal, glancing down at the boy.
She didn’t recognize his name or his face, so he was likely one of those transfers that were running around here. Tara had met a few of them already. Though none quite as odd a first meeting as this. Still though, congratulations to Earl on the new relationship status. Hopefully he didn’t just pick up a weirdo. Because Tara was really starting to question that.
Once it was easier to hold up the boy, Tara turned her green eyes back to her fellow crew mate. ”Alright, where should we put him, your bed? We can’t put him back on the floor.” No matter what they did, Tara only planned on sticking around enough to get this Basu boy situated and then she was gone. After yesterday’s dilemma at getting stuck at school, there were some sharks calling her name and the pirate girl fully planned on enjoying herself, wrestling the mighty sea beasts. The water was where she felt most at home and had the most control. Being the daughter of Tick Tock Croc, she was an expert swimmer, if not just a little strict about time. After all, you waste too much time helping out Earl and his new, unconscious boyfriend, you missed out on shark wrestling.

Earl Fisi son of ed and kijana
It was a good thing Tara was here. Without her Earl wouldn’t have known what to do with Basu’s unconscious body. He probably would have sloppily dragged him to his room, which they were doing that now, but with an extra set of hands it would be much easier to accomplish. The son of Ed and Kijana was grateful for Tara; she was fun to have around at any time. She was an accomplished shark wrestler, and Earl enjoyed anybody who wrestled sharks so the green-haired girl was always somebody he had seen as a friend. His appreciation for her was growing right now as she helped him with Basu. Earl would have to give her a bone later to fully thank her.
A brief smile came over the canine’s face. He helped pick Basu up, making sure to be careful with him. ”You gotta be soft with him, okay? He still hurts from yesterday.” Earl did, too. He was still all bruised and battered, but he was used to injuries like that. He was more adapt to ignoring them or just not feeling them as much overall. Living on the Isle made a person pretty resistant to pain, at least for some. ”What do I need to watch out for? He’s not gonna die, is he? I don’t want Basu to be gone yet,” the hyena-jackal whined, looking down at Basu as he continued taking him toward the room. He had only known Basu for a few days now, but Earl was already so attached to him. If something happened to the leopon boy then Earl wasn’t sure what he would do. Who would he have sleepovers with now? Who would take him out to see the stars? And who would feed him chocolate? Just like yesterday with the Kakamora Earl felt a sense of protectiveness wash over him. Nothing was going to happen to Basu while Earl was watching over him. The leopon was going to be safe no matter what, and the son of Ed was going to make sure of that. No matter how many coconuts were thrown or how many walls got in the way, Earl was going to protect his boyfriend.
He was snapped out of his thoughts when Tara spoke up once more. He nodded. ”Yeah, I can wrap Basu up in my blanket and keep him warm. He can sleep and get better.” Earl would probably curl up in the bed beside Basu to keep an eye on him as well. It would be like a mini sleepover. Not as fun as a sleepover at the transfer shack, but it would be something, and once Basu woke up they could have more fun. Earl could continue showing him around the ship. That would be nice. Basu just needed some time to recover.
