Ember Dove Riley grew up in a family of businessmen and women. It was always expected that she would follow in those footsteps and live up to her families expectations. Imagine the disappointment on her parents' faces when she announced that she recieved a small record deal with a local label, Pure Pop Records, and then the horror when she dropped out of college to pursue music full time.
Tonight was Ember's third concert under Pure Pop. It wasn't anything huge, just a small venue. Ember was just begining to branch out and recieve more publicity. She stood backstage, waiting for her cue to go on. She stood infront of a mirror, taking deep breaths to calm her only slightly shaky nerves.
Before she went on, she checked her hair and makeup. Her blond hair was curled perfectly and fell to the middle of her back. She wore a tight red top and black skinny jeans. The heals she woure brought her normally 5'4" self to 5'7". The 22 year old took one last breath before heading towards the stage.
Once onstage, she was pleasantly surprised by the turnout of the concert. She sang all of her songs perfectly. when she was finished, she headed off stage while fans cheered in the background. She then did a quick mirror check before she was ushered by her manager to where she would be meeting with radio hosts and magizine columnists.

Theodore Glenn had finally got a chance to squeeze past all the reporters and magazine authors and such to have enough room to breathe. He combed his fingers through his thick red hair and sighed. If things kept moving at a pace like this, he feared the day would never end.
There were a clamor of shouts as people hurried to grab microphones, recorders, anything they had to document the encounter with rising star Ember Riley. Theo, himself, didn't scramble too much, leisurely pulling out his own notepad and pen, and a recorder. See, he wasn't here for an interview. He was here to catch a glimpse of this star. He'd followed her from her beginning, and had been a huge fan. If he could pass off seeing her as a work thing, he was all for it.
Music was Theo's life. He adored it, breathed it, and wanted to pursue it. His dreams, though, stayed dreams, as most do. His parents didn't have the money to send him to college, so Theo, ever positive, decided to take the second best thing. Working for a radio channel. He didn't hold shows, but he was in charge of playing the music during the day, and taking requests.
The short man, about 5'5" harrumphed at the taller people around him. He didn't have the greatest view. Snaking his way to the edge of the crowd, towards the front, he finally caught sight of her. Her hair was perfectly curled, as expected. He could be satisfied with just this, knowing the chances of being able to squeeze in a conversation would be slim.

Ember had a perfect smile plastered to her face as she answered the chaotically thrown questions with ease. She had learned quickly that all she had to do was make eye contact with one of the reporters that were shouting questions at her, and the rest would seemingly lower their voices for the "chosen one". It was almost humorous to Ember, the way that the reporters seemed to be trained in the way that they asked their questions. She took her newly found fame with pride, loving all of the attention. If only mom and dad could see the fame that you are acquiring. She thought smugly.
Ember also found a pattern in the questions being asked, and had an answer stored in the back of her head for anything that could be thrown at her. Though she was always honest with her answers, against her managers advise, she liked to be prepared. For the deep questions.
Where do you call home? "Manchester, New Hampshire. I grew up in a quiet little house in the suburbs."
What does your family think of your rise to fame in the music industry? "They absolutely hate it." And a smile and a shrug for effect.
Did you know that you would end up as a musician? "I had always dreamed, but I had never thought that it would come true or that I would be here in front of you all today."
And the trivial questions.
What's your favorite color? "Aqua Blue"
Do you have any pets? "I have a rabbit named Lyla."
What's your favorite shade of lipstick? "Coral Pink. It brings out my green eyes." And a flirty wink for flair.
The only advice of her manager's that she had taken was to keep her answers short and sweet, but add in an action for the camera whenever she could. She scanned the crowd for the next question when she spotted a red headed man in the front row. He was a couple inches shorter than her at the moment, but she was in heals. What stood out to her was that he wasn't shouting questions at her. She made eye contact and waited to see what he would say.

Theodore had to at least make the trip worthwhile. After all, he had been sent because the hosts already had prior commitments. So they'd sent the tired redhead out. He was frantically scribbling down her short comments and small impressions and insights on her into the note pad.
Disapproving parents... He quietly repeated each word he wrote onto the paper, his lips barely moving. The questions slowly waned away, until there was an expectant silence in the room. Theo looked up, shocked to see the Ember Riley was staring at him. He refrained the urge to curse. How long had she been waiting on him? Had he done something wrong?
The silence didn't seem to be disdainful, so he assumed that he must have made a gesture signaling that he had a question subconsciously. Huh. Guess he'd gone to too many interviews that it was becoming second nature.
He met Ember Riley's gaze with his own pale green eyes, desperately trying to think of a question. Under the cool reserve, his mind was going into overdrive. "What led to your rise to fame?"

Ember waited patiently for him to ask her a question. Most other musicians probably would have moved on to someone new, but she found herself genuinely curious to hear what he had to say. She had only waited about a minute, though that was forever in the silence, when he finally asked his question. What led your rise to fame? She thought about the question for only a moment before giving her response.
"My drive to be happy, and to become who I always wanted to be. Of course I couldn't have done it without a lucky break from my amazing record label. If it weren't for them, I'd still be singing in sketchy downtown bars." She allowed her response to run slightly longer than her other responses. She left her bright green eyes on him for several moments before turning to her manage her gave her only a slight nod.
"Thank you all for coming out! I hope to see you all at my show next week! Until then, I'll be ready to read all of the great things I know you'll be writing about me!" Ember gave a wink before turning to follow her manager backstage. There were a few chuckles from the reporters and her mild humor about their writings as she walked through the doors. Before they closed, she gave one last glance to the red headed reporter. She was filled with curiosity about him. After all, it wasn't very often that a host or reporter didn't bombard her with questions. It baffled her that he had waited so patiently and then seemed almost flustered that she had singled him out for a question.
She pushed all of those thoughts aside and tried to tune in to the information her manager was giving her about their recording session the next day and the concert the next week. She wasn't able to completely clear her head, however, because she was also thinking about how to figure out what station or magazine that man had been with and how she would get her hands on the segment.

Theo hurried to scribble down what she was saying word for word. He smiled at the work on his page, disappearing back into the crowd. He felt he'd handled that decently, at least. He considered this visit to be a success, he at least had a page of notes to bring back to the office. After recounting the experience, he'd probably have to return to monitoring the station when there wasn't a talk airing.
That was exactly what had happened. The hosts took his notes, made a segment on it, and now Theo was back to his day to day work. He didn't mind it, the rhythm was soothing at times, and he just had to sit by the phone and monitor requests.
{ Sorry for short reply. Also, I'm sorry if I don't get radio show hosting quite right. Not sure what happens in there. O.o }

(It's okay! Mine will probably end up pretty short too...I go back to school on monday. And i have no idea how radio stuff works either 😂)
After the concert, Ember headed home. She stayed in a small two bedroom apartment with only Layla, her grey rabbit, as a roommate. Most people would have thought that Ember would hate living alone, but in reality, she loved it. Being alone was a nice alternative to the hectic lifestyle that recording and concerts brought.
Over the next few days, Ember spent her time away from the recording studio trying to find the red headed interviewer. She scanned every website to every radio station and magazine and couldn't find him anywhere. It wasn't all a lost search, however, because she was also able to read everything that people had written about her. Though she was still a little curious as to who that man was. But she couldn't dwell on the thought too long, she had an upcoming concert to prepare for.
(I figured we could time skip to them running into each other again unless you had another idea?)

(Okay!)
The time had come for Ember's next concert. She stood back stage yet again in front of a mirror. She was even less nervous this time than the last. Today, she was wearing a pair of ripped, dark blue, skinny jeans and a sparkly black top. Her hair was straightened and she wore a pair of flats.
The venue today was smaller, so there was no planned interview after the event. There were also other performers, so Ember would have the chance to enjoy part of the concert from the audience. She was the opening act, so when she heard the generic club music begin to soften, she headed on stage.
She sang her heart out to her most popular songs before taking a bow and heading off stage. The crowd cheered and whistled and chanted for an encore, but Ember only waved over her head and kept walking. Once backstage, she did a quick change into a light grey shirt and put her hair into a pony tail. Her manager advised her that making these simple changes before she went out in the crowd would keep most people from recognizing her right away if at all. Due to the fact that she had looked different on stage just moments before, as well as she wasn't extremely famous yet. With that, she headed out from backstage and into the crowd of people as the next performer took the stage.
(I figured this would give them a chance to meet and talk more 🤷🏼♀️)

[ There's something that came into mind... Ember could start dating Theo as a publicity thing... Maybe after a big scandal to show how much she's changed, and now she's dating a small town boy instead of another big star? Problem is they start catching feelings for each other. The scandal turns out to be fake and something to help her rise to fame, and Theo so maybe he can't believe she would make something up for fame? So they break up and then the rest of the plot goes along after? It's something like from a book I'd read a while back. Only if you're interested in trying it! ]
Theo had booked tickets to the concert a couple months back. He'd heard there'd be several popular artists there, and seeing the real thing was the closest he could get to being the real thing. He was just a small town boy after all. Truth was, his headphones and request calls suited him just fine. He did enjoy the music that he played, so it wasn't mind numbing when the first songs came out. If the listeners thought the radios killed the songs, than Theo felt it time one hundred. Over and over some of the songs played, until sometimes Theo would take the headset off for a while.
Theo didn't just listen to pop, so there was a solace. Of course, songs on the radio weren't the same as seeing it being done on stage. So he figured he could hear a couple more songs another time, and get some new ones too. He'd woken up this morning and grabbed a pair of nice jeans and an emerald green polo, before driving to the venue.
Ember Riley was the first act, and she'd absolutely killed it. Theo chuckled at the teens that screamed when she came on stage, they were almost louder than the singer herself.

(I like that idea!! Kinda gotta think about how to work that in 🤔. I could have her dating him now, but he is on tour or something and then- I got it ) Ember made her way through the crowd towards the back. She wanted to be able to just listen to the music from the other artists. As she stood there, swaying slightly to the music, she found herself wishing that she wasn't there alone. Her boyfriend, Alexander Benton, had been gone for nearly two weeks. He was on tour across the United States. While Alexander had already set his place as a famous pop star before Ember hit the music scene, they had hit it off the first time they met. They got along great, and it only made sense for them to test things out. After all, their lifestyles would be similar, it would only make sense for them to try to have a future together. She was looking forward to Alex returning home in two more weeks. For now, she was left wondering what he was up to. (She hadn't received any contact from him in three days) All she could do for now was push the thought out of her mind and focus on the music. (And the break up publicity can start the next morning 😊)

The light show was slightly blinding to Theo, the stage the only well lit part of the concert. He had come later than most, leaving him to watch from the back. He was standing on some sort of box he'd found back there, unashamedly boosting his short height. He looked across the sea of people, tapping his foot to the beat. He wasn't much of a public dancer.
The performer was putting on a great show, and Theodore was really into it. He had a huge grin plastered on his face, one might think it was the best time he'd had in a while. They wouldn't be too far off, he'd saved up for the concert tickets, and had waited anxiously for the concert. It was a good break from work.
The heat from all the bodies cramped in one room was overbearing, but Theo barely noticed. He was way caught up in the moment, barely noticing the people around him.

Ember couldn't see the stage, but she wasn't trying to. Of she had wanted to do that, she would have worn heals instead of flats. The crowd of people that she was standing next to, however, were dancing and shuffling, moving into Ember's personal space a little too much for her comfort. With that, she moved herself a ways away. Ending up next to someone standing on a box to see over the crowd. She didn't pay much attention to the person. Instead, she closed her eyes and emersed herself into the sound and vibration of the music.

Theo had planned to step down off of the box, just pick up the keys he'd dropped from his pocket. Instead, he not so gracefully tipped the crate over when he stepped down, it had caught on the heel of his shoe. It was not loud enough to be heard, but if anyone was paying attention they would've seen his clumsy slip up. He quickly picked up his keys, but not fast enough to avoid someone stepping on his fingers. He withdrew his hand quickly, shaking it and stuffing it and the keys into his pocket. He glanced around to make sure no one really saw, casually combing his fingers through his red hair. There was someone standing next to him, but he could see her face, much less her expression through the dark lights. He righted the crate, and stepped back onto it nonchalantly.

Ember felt someone moving next to her and opened her eyes. Her connection to the music temporarily disturbed by the man climbing back onto the box. She wrinkled her nose in confusion and concern as she realized he must have fallen. She reached out to touch his arm and get his attention. She waited until he was looking at her before she spoke as loud as she could to be hear over the music, "Are you okay?" Though her words came out as only a whisper.

Theo felt a touch on his arm, and turned quickly startled. The dim lights didn't illuminate her face, so of course, he was oblivious to the stranger in front of him. She wasn't much of a stranger, Theo had been a fan of hers for so long it almost felt like they knew each other. He blushed, looking at his shoes. There was a concerned expression on her face, so he assumed she was asking if he was ok. "Yeah.." He said sheepishly, nodding his head.

Ember smiled a wide smile, though she was sure that he couldn't see it due to the dim lights. She mouthed "Okay" to him, deciding not to yell and strain her voice for no reason. He wouldn't be able to hear her anyway. She did a double take and looked closely at his face. Some of the lights from the show were illuminating his face every now and then. She felt as if she recognized him from somewhere and was trying to place it.

The lights strobed across her face, and it hit Theo like a slap. Ember Riley. The Ember Riley, just chilling at the back of a concert. She'd changed out of her outfit, no doubt she'd be able to get any peace if she hadn't. What was she doing all the way back here? He grinned amiably, not believing his luck. "Thanks." He said back, knowing she probably wouldn't see. He ran his fingers through his red hair, shocked at the situation.

The lights disappeared as quickly as they had appeared, no longer illuminating their faces. It was in that moment that she realized who this man was. He was the reporter from her last concert. Questions popped into her head quickly, but she knew that she wouldn't be able to ask him any with the music playing. She wanted to know where he worked, and why she couldn't find him. She figured that he was here for another interview, though she wasn't for sure with who. After all, there were several artists preforming. She also realized that she wouldn't have a chance to ask him her questions because she would have to disappear backstage before the concert was over.

Ember Riley wanted him to come outside? He straightened his emerald green polo, and followed after her. The air outside of the venue was much cooler, not holding the strong... human smell of inside the concert area. The lights hit her perfectly now. "Wow... It is really is you." He breathed. Not every day you meet a celebrity.

Ember spun around as soon as they got outside. They were standing in the well lit parking lot. The pink top that she had changed into hugged her body. She closed her eyes for a moment to gather her thoughts and to embrace the cool air outside after being in the stuffy building. When she opened her eyes, she smiled at the man in front of her. "Sure is." She replied, beginning to realize that this may have been a mistake. "What's your name?" she decided to start simple. That way, even if she couldn't get her questions answered, she would at least be able to try and find him.

Theo's pale green eyes widened in shock. So he wasn't really crazy. "Uhh.. Theo. Theodore Glenn, ma'am." He corrected himself from using his casual name. "May I ask why you've brought me out here?" He was confused, no doubt. What was a radio DJ doing standing next to Ember Riley?

Ember rolled her eyes with a smile. "No need to call me ma'am." She stuck her hands in her pockets, unsure what else what to do with them. "I just remembered you from my last concert." Once she decided to just go for it, she felt a lot more confident. "I mean, no offence, but you kindof caught my attention. I tried to find your station to hear the segment, but I couldn't find you." Her words began to come out quick and bold.

"Of- of course." He replied. He tried to think back to her last concert. He hadn't been able to see her performance, he'd just been shoved into the fray with a pencil, a notepad, and a recorder. "Well, I work for the Tunez-" He cringed at the name, no matter how many times he had to say it. It was, undoubtedly, one of the bigger today's hit station. "Radio station." He continued. "But I just control requests and what music plays. I was only there since no one else had the time to go."
