Cyrus Rivers| Male| 25| Heterosexual| Cyrus has pink hair matching the shade of the cherry blossom trees during the springtime. Icy blue eyes also do well to brighten up his expression. She hides a questionable past.| Works on Evergreen farm, lives on the second floor of the farmhouse.| When Jolene was very young, her parents died in a tragic accident. She typically wears a black Gothic dress that comes down to her knees. A large witch's hat usually sits atop her head.| Celestine is a witch, and enjoys acting like it. Finn Jones| Male| 18| Homosexual| He has messy light brown hair that is kept under a beanie most of the time (beanies make him feel safe). He usually wears a jacket, jeans, and converse, and he makes sure not to look like a slob when he leaves the house. He also has mint green eyes.| Finn may not seem very approachable at first since he is a little shy, but he will open up to people who are persistent in being his friend.| Lives in a house on Willow Lane| Works at JojaMart|

She has brown eyes.| She is a bit emo and likes to wear dark clothing, but on days when she doesn't care, she just wears normal clothes. Naomi is mistrustful of people and doesn't open up very easily, but despite the way she dresses and acts, she really doesn't want to cause trouble for anyone.| Lives in a house on the mountain.| Works at the Saloon|
Rosie| Female| 16| Rosie is a pale girl with maroon hair that is always tied up in a neat bun. Her large, doe eyes are a murky greenish-brown. Her face is perfect and innocent, almost like a doll's. She wears a black lace gown.| Mysterious, and quiet.|
Christopher Wood| Male| 20| Bisexual| He has pale skin, short messy black hair, and green eyes. He wears a silver band as an earring, and another one as a helix piercing. He wears a black t-shirt in warm weather, and wears a white jacket over it in cool weather. He wears jeans all year round and sneakers.| Christopher can be a bit brooding at times, and has an almost emo personality but doesn't show it off. Otherwise he is a pretty amiable guy, but he has a disdain for older people. He likes books and spends his free time reading.| He works in the library and lives in a basement underneath it.| Christopher grew up in Stardew Valley, but his parents were originally from the city before they moved to the country to raise their child. When he got older they wanted to move back, but Christopher refused to leave so his parents left him and moved to the city. He moved into the library and has been taking care of himself ever since.|
Brooke Gardner| Female| 23| Heterosexual| She has light skin, Blue eyes, and short wavy lavender-dyed hair. She's very well groomed, having lavender painted nails to match her hair and she usually wears eyeliner. During her job at the clinic, she wears her doctor's coat over her favorite outfit: 3/4 sleeve sweater, pleated skirt that reaches just over her knees, leggings, and ballet shoes. She likes to wear black most of the time, but sometimes she wears pastels. When off the job, she takes her coat off and wears black lacy fingerless gloves.| Brooke is docile and flirty, and always wants to care for others.| She is the town's doctor, and veterinarian. Yes, that would make sense!)
It had been a long and grueling day at the Joja-mart, but finally the clock struck five.
Finn reached up and pulled his beanie, which was a light shade of pink, back over his head. This had become a habit for him, being afraid that his hat would fly off. And if he had to go anywhere without his beanie, then he wouldn't feel safe. He just couldn't handle that kind of anxiety.
Sighing in relief, the boy untied his apron- a light blue one that was too big for him, with the words "Joja-mart, here to serve you!" stitched in white. He also took off his name tag, and shoved both objects into his locker. Then he dashed out of the break room, through the store (at the disapproval of his manager), and outside into the afternoon sun.
I'm finally out!
Finn supposed that he should be home soon, since his parents were actually going to be there this week. His mother even promised she would make him dinner tonight. But he didn't want to go just yet. He figured she would call him when she needed him. Oddly enough, she only did that when she was in town...
Finn would normally go to the beach on such a nice day, but he was tired from his shift. The library was just a bit of a walk south from the store, so he figured he would go there for a while before returning home. He liked the soft beanbag cushions there, especially when he could make a fort out of them behind the bookshelves. So he walked quickly down the path, past the smoking smithy and to the welcoming dark green building that was the library. A soft smile was on his face the whole way there, with even the tiny hints of a blush.

Christopher was sitting behind the checkout desk, reading a novel. It was a fantasy novel, about dragons and elves and faeries, and he had already read it before. In fact, he had already read just about everything on the shelves in this library he worked at. He didn't mind that; it was comforting to go through the adventures over again, already knowing what's going to happen next. It could get boring sometimes, though. Perhaps he should consider getting a shipment of new books.
Christopher worked at the library pretty much all day. He didn't mind that either; he reads while he works and if he wasn't working he would still be reading. And the library was practically his home anyway, like being in his living room. So even though it was just past five, he wasn't surprised to hear the bell above the door chime as the door opened.

Finn swiftly made his way down the path to the library, his converse thudding against the dry ground. When he approached the library door, he slowed, hesitating for a moment to check his appearance. The soft breeze tugged at his deep blue jacket, which coordinated with his moss green cargo shorts. His shoes were black, and his signature springtime beanie was pink.
Well, my clothes don't really match...
But Finn decided not to worry about it. It would take too long to go home and change; and besides, this was what he always wore. Maybe the librarian wouldn't care. Taking a deep breath, Finn pulled open the door to the library and stepped timidly inside. The bell chime announced his presence, which made him even more nervous.
"H-hello..." his voice came out soft, which was much different than how he sounded in his head. The boy stared around the room, avoiding eye contact with the librarian.

Christopher looked up from his novel and saw Finn standing there. He looked nervous, and seemed to avoid looking at him. Poor kid. Finn was shy, really shy. Some might find it annoying but Christopher thought it was kinda cute, in a way. Either way, he was a customer.
"Looking for a book?"
(Sorry it's short I TRIED I COULDN'T THINK)

(I KNOW, THINKING IS HARD)
Finn stared at a spot somewhere between Christopher and the floor; not quite looking down at his shoes, but not quite at the person he was talking to either.
"Um, I'm just...uh..yeah." he stammered. In truth, he just wanted a quiet place away from home. But since Christopher assumed that he wanted a book, he went along with him, too shy to say otherwise. When he did choose a book, it was usually by himself. Christopher's presence made him nervous; and whenever he was around, Finn couldn't think straight.
"...What do you recommend?"

Christopher tried to ignore the fact that Finn wouldn't look him in the eye. He glanced at the book that was in his hand; maybe that would make a good first suggestion. "Here, how about this one?" he asked, standing up and showing him the front cover. It portrayed an armored human brandishing a shiny sword, paired next to an elf with magical light swirling around him. The two were facing a giant, flame-breathing dragon. "It's...one of my personal favorites. But if that's not your style I can show you other genres." he explained, giving a gentle smile.

Finn walked slowly over to the checkout desk, rubbing his wrists in a nervous habit. Staring at the cover of the book Christopher presented, he realized it must be a fantasy novel. That genre wasn't really what he was into; when he did happen to be reading, it was usually manga. But he didn't want to offend the librarian.
"Um, sure, I'll give it a read," he said in a small voice, reaching his hands out for the book. He glanced up at Christopher's face for a moment, and saw that he was smiling. This caused him to snap his gaze back down to the book. He was smiling as well, albeit nervously, a small blush beginning to form on his cheeks.

Was that a blush? Christopher thought, handing him the book. Well, Finn was a shy guy after all; couldn't blame him. He didn't mind handing him the copy he was reading; there were other copies in the library, and he'd already memorized what page he was on anyway...haha. Maybe Chris saw that Finn was a little disappointed at the offer, or maybe he just wanted an excuse for more human interaction. Either way he was gonna try to find Finn a good match for reading before the young man left.
"Is there anything else you'd like to read? I have plenty of genres here."

Finn held the book closer to him, still staring down at the cover. At Christopher's question, he stammered.
"Well, I'll..um..I'll read anything really..."
Which was a lie. He just didn't want Christopher to know that he preferred manga. He decided that now would be a good time to back out of the conversation, before he ended up embarrassing himself.
"But this book will be just fine, thank you..."
But then a new thought hit him, which made him feel guilty. The boy forced himself to look up at Chris's face, trying not to appear awkward.
"Um, are you really okay with letting me borrow this book? It looked like you were reading it."

Christopher thought it was a little weird that Finn was just fine with the first book he showed him. He was sure that Finn must have wanted to read something else, but he didn't push it any further. Suddenly he felt the boy's gaze on him, and his face grew hot.
"It's not a problem at all; I have other copies here in the library. And besides, I've read it before."
He thought for a moment, and continued.
"If you enjoy that book...maybe we can discuss it sometime?"
His main reason for asking was to be friendly, and if Finn did enjoy the book after all it would leave him the option to talk about it to a fellow fan, which was an awesome thing in Christopher's opinion. Christopher didn't have a lot of people to talk about books to, he usually just discussed them with a small book group online.

Finn relaxed a little bit when Christopher said he had other copies of the book. He didn't feel guilty anymore, but his anxiety returned when Christopher asked to discuss it sometime. Clutching the book to his chest, Finn nodded, gave a small "Mhm" and turned away from the librarian, quickly looking for a place to sit. He needed to get away, so that he could think straight.
He walked away from the desk and around the nearest bookshelf. There was a table there, and some chairs, but he didn't stop there. Finn kept walking past bookshelves until he found a beanbag chair hidden behind a row of shelves, propped up against the wall. This was his favorite spot in the library, because it was well hidden from view. He had even brought the beanbag chair here some time ago, and was happy to find that no one had moved it. He had no idea if the librarian even knew it was there.
So there he sat, propping the book open on his knees. The chair was very comfortable, and he wiggled himself into a snug position, smiling to himself in satisfaction. He tried to read the first page, but couldn't stop thinking back to his conversation with Christopher.
He wants to discuss the book with me?
The idea of talking to Christopher for a long amount of time made his heart beat faster. He knew that it would probably be a bad idea, but part of him was looking forward to it.
Why do I have to feel this way? And why does it have to be him?
He shook his head to clear away the distracting thoughts. Here he felt safe, and that was all that mattered. He needed to get started on the book. Medieval fantasy wasn't a genre he was used to, but he wanted to give it a try. Plus, Christopher liked it, so how bad could it be?
(I'm assuming that the museum stands are replaced with bookshelves, computers, etc, and other library things, since there's no need for it in this rp.
Also, you can take it anywhere you want from here. We can continue with Christopher and Finn, bring in another character into the library, or just jump to different characters altogether. The choice is yours! [although I do love where this could go between Chris and Finn lol])

Christopher watched Finn walk away clutching the book he had just given him. At least I got to talk to somebody today. He thought to himself. Well, back to reading.
He walked through the shelves towards the fantasy section, where the other copies of the book were kept. He had no problem giving the copy he had to Finn, but of course he wouldn't waste any time getting back into the fantasy world. He found the other copies placed on a shelf just above his head. As he reached up, something caught his eye. He glanced to the right to see Finn reading in the bean bag chair. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself, just a little. That was practically Finn's chair, as no one else used it or even knew it was there. Of course Christopher knew it was there, being the librarian and all, and he would use it himself if he wasn't always reading at the front desk. So basically, the chair got little use other than Finn's adorable bottom.
Christopher smiled a little and grabbed the book he was reaching for. He figured Finn would probably want to be left alone now, of course why else would he choose the hidden bean bag chair so he simply went back to the front desk and began to read where he left off.
(Yeah it's pretty much a regular library lol, no need for rows and rows of empty counters)
(And I do greatly enjoy roleplaying as Christopher, and am totally excited for what could come, exceeeept I don't really have ideas for how to continue this right now XD. I'd say up to you, if you have any ideas for Chris and Finn we can keep going, and if not it's okay with me to come back to that later and we can try out some of the others!)

XD)
Ring ring! Ring ring!
Finn snapped back into reality, just as the scaly dragon had appeared before the protagonists, baring its fangs, flames rolling out of its mouth menacingly.
Ugh, it's my phone...
Finn reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, realizing with a jolt that a whole hour had passed. He must have really gotten into the book. But now he had to talk to his mother, who was most likely calling about dinner.
"Hey mom." "Hey honey, just wanted to let you know that I've started dinner. You'll be home by the time it's ready, right?" "Uh..How long will it take for you to finish?" "Oh, I don't know...thirty minutes maybe? Just wanted to let you know. Your father's here as well. We want you to eat with us!" "Alright, I'll be home sometime soon." he said this with a hint of reluctance; being at the library seemed better than home right now. "Alright, see you soon! Bye!" "Bye."
Finn hung up and put the phone back in his pocket. He supposed he would read a little more, and then go back home. The fantasy story had quickly grown on him, and he didn't want to stop reading.
I guess fantasy is good after all...Almost as good as manga.
The boy sighed, wishing that he could stay at the library longer. If his parents weren't in town right now, he would probably have stayed until closing time. But his parents were expecting him, and he couldn't let them down.

Christopher closed his book and checked the clock hanging on the wall nearby. It was a quarter past six. He should be closing soon, and going into the basement to cook dinner and...probably read some more. Or do other hobbies that he most certainly has but i haven't developed yet. He stood up and glanced around the library. He hadn't heard Finn leave, so he assumed he was still here.
Christopher strolled down the aisles towards the place where he had seen the boy earlier. Sure enough, he was still there. It appeared that he had made some progress in the book, which pleased him a little. He walked up to Finn and stood over him, peering at his place in the book but hoping that he didn't appear too intimidating (my emo boi is a gentle emo boi).
"Hey there. You enjoying it so far?"

Finn flinched when he suddenly heard Christopher's name over his head. Swiftly closing the book instinctively, he jerked his head over to Christopher, only able to meet his eyes for a second before staring back down.
"Ah..y-yeah, It's..." he stumbled over his words again, a blush forming on his face. He reached a hand up and secured the pink beanie on his head; while a part of his usual habit, it could have seemed like he was subconsciously trying to cover his face with it.
"It's...actually really good."

Actually? Christopher's mind echoed what Finn had just said. It wasn't surprising though; he had figured that the boy wasn't being entirely honest about wanting to read the book. It was pleasing to see that he was actually enjoying it though.
"Oh yeah?" Christopher said in response, leaning down towards Finn, trying to catch a glimpse of his expression. He knew Finn was shy, but he wasn't entirely used to his quirks.
"How far did you get?" He persisted, sitting down on the floor to the right of Finn's bean bag. His bright green gaze locked onto Finn expectantly, patiently waiting for Finn to reopen the book and show him.
Sure he was closing up shop, but he had time to talk to Finn for just a while longer. And besides, it would be rude to just kick the poor kid out!

When Christopher had leaned closer to Finn, the boy's heart began to race.
Oh no! He's going to see that I'm blushing..
So without really thinking, Finn turned his face away from Christopher, though just a little bit. It didn't help that the librarian had decided to sit down right next to him. That only made his brain freak out more. Christopher's green gaze on him made him nervous; his own mint eyes stayed staring down.
He's just curious, that's all. Stop being such a wimp and answer his question! How hard can it be to just act normal?
Of course, the mental bullying wasn't helping him. But despite his inner turmoil, Finn managed to speak.
"I got to the part with the dragon...I thought it was cool." Chuckling nervously, he found that talking about the book would help loosen him up. So he continued. "Dragons are cool. It would be great if we could fly like they could...that's just what I thought while reading."

Christopher couldn't help but smile a little as he watched Finn grow more and more nervous. But he seemed to loosen up a bit when talking about the dragon. That made Chris feel kinda warm on the inside; maybe getting Finn to read would help him open up more. He sure is silly. he thought as he kept listening to Finn talk about the dragon.
While Finn seemed to be thinking wishfully about the dragon, Christopher thought more technically; instead he appreciated the elements the dragon scene brought to the story. But maybe that was because he had read so many books, it was hard not to think the way he did.
"That part is great, it really kicks off the story by introducing the main conflict, and in such a terrifying way that it shows just how great a challenge the heroes have to face." he said. Oops, what am I rambling on about? he thought. He doesn't care about that!
Shifting himself on the floor, he decided to humor Finn instead of impressing him with his story knowledge. "But yeah...it would be nice to fly like a dragon. Say, what kind of dragon do you think you'd be?" he said, still gazing at him. He was legitimately curious to hear what the boy thought of himself.

Finn still couldn't quite meet Christopher's eyes, but he continued talking nonetheless.
"I think...maybe a green dragon. Oh, and I would swim and eat fish all day."
Finn gave a small smile, his downcast eyes glittering in wonder. He had never thought about what kind of dragon he would be, but he found that the description he gave seemed to match his personality.
"I would spend all my time around the beach, surprising everyone who swam in the ocean. I guess I'd be like a sea monster...I wonder how good of a conflict that would bring to the story?" He glanced up at Christopher for a moment, having referred to the librarian's talk of good story elements. But he couldn't look at him for long- pretty soon his eyes were trained back onto the book.
"Um...what kind of dragon would you be?"
