(My response just deleted so I had to type it up again. Sorry! Also this is a Weasley family gathering, but they're open to friends of the children, so anyone's OCs can be there.)
Harry sat back in his chair, his green eyes lit by the lantern light and a satisfied sense of happiness. They were in the Burrow's backyard, with a very long wooden table set and filled with various members of the Weasley-Potter clan. His arm wrapped around his wife's shoulders, and he breathed in the scent of her hair. "With the kids gone in a few days, maybe we'll finally get peace and quiet," he quietly joked, contentedly watching the younger generation play a rowdy game of Quidditch.
Angelina's hand tightened around her husband's, her amber eyes glimmering as she softly smiled at him. George was always most lonely at family gatherings - around everyone, the absence of Fred seemed to be even fresher. She leaned into him, ruffling his pale red hair. No words were needed - just touch.
Albus shoved James, almost knocking his older brother off his broom, and neatly swerved toward the golden blur. His hand stretched out, fingers searching. Closer, closer, closer.. the boy looked almost exactly like his father as he reached for the Snitch, save for the emerald green sweater he was wearing and the absence of premature stress from his face. "Argh!" the middle child groaned, mentally cursing. He had almost had it!
Victoire sat some way away from the group, absentmindedly chewing on her lip. She watched the game unseeingly, distracted by numerous thoughts about the coming school year - and well, something else. Well, actually, someone else. That someone was a certain blue-haired boy. She scoffed at herself; Victoire never thought she was a hopeless romantic, and besides, Teddy was family. The two of them had grown up wrestling each other and getting caught during times of mischief. But the quarter Veela couldn't help herself. He was just so..vibrant.

Josephine smiled as she watched Albus chase after the Snitch. "You got this Albus!" she cheered as her friend almost got hold of it. Despite being a year older, the two had become friends rather quickly Albus' first year at Hogwarts. After being sorted into Slytherin, she had been the first person he sat down next to at the table. Knowing he was a Potter, and that he probably felt confused and out of place not being sorted into Gryffindor, she went a bit out of her way to be extra kind and welcoming that day. Now, a few years later, they were great friends. Although she was good friends with Albus, she had never really talked much with too many of the other Hogwarts students that were at the Burrow tonight. She of course knew them and had talked with them at some point throughout the school years, but not enough to feel comfortable enough to approach while Albus was preoccupied with the quidditch match.

{{ I'll stick with Charlie and Teddy for now I think and bring in my OC's once they get to Hogwarts }}
Teddy enjoyed these family gatherings. The whole Weasley-Potter group together always made for an interesting time, that much was garuanteed. The young male's hazel eyes followed the darting forms of the younger kids playing what could be considered a game of quiditch, but was probably just a little too rowdy to be considered a proper game. Although there was nothing wrong with that. After all, the whole point of the game was just to have fun. As Albus just missed catching the snitch, Teddy's eyes landed on a certain blonde-haired someone who was sitting slightly away from the rest of the group. Victoire Weasley. The smile that was already on his face grew as Teddy spotted her. Heading towards her, he nodded a hello before placing himself beside her, although placing was a relative term, he mostly just dropped himself into the available space with only a small amount of grace. "Hey Victoire." He greeted flashing that smile at her. He wasn't sure why but he couldn't help but smile whenever she was around.

“Hey,” Victoire smiled up at Teddy as he sat down, tucking a stray piece of sandy blonde hair behind her ear. “I’m surprised you’re not playing,” she remarked, her blue eyes filled with bemusement as they followed the various members of kids in the air. Her heart was going a thousand beats per minute, and she felt a bit of self-consciousness. Why? she wondered. Whenever she liked someone, she’d never felt this vulnerable around them. In fact, she often felt bolder. Maybe it was because her and Teddy had history. She let out a laugh as her little brother, Louise, got into a chicken fight with Fred in midair. “I was wondering if I should referee them instead of you, since I’m the only one who has common sense,” she joked, a soft smile on her face.

Albus grinned cheekily at Josephine, deftly swinging himself off his broom to the ground. “Uh....Louis!” He pointed at his cousin, who looked up from grappling with Fred. “You’re the new Seeker for now! I need a break.” His green eyes bright, he made his way to his friend. “I told you these get-togethers were crazy,” he laughed, grabbing a bottle of Butterbeer from the cooler. He leaned against the cool stone of the fence, a contented look on his face. “Thanks for cheering me on, though,” he continued, his eyes turning darker. “I almost had it!”

Ginny had her attention on the kids' game of Quidditch, but she did acknowledge her husband's words with a hum of agreement. "Maybe? I'm sure we will," was her quiet answer, briefly shifting her brown gaze to study Harry with an amused smile. "But then we'll start missing the noise just as much a few days after they leave." That was how it was for her anyway, turning her attention back to the game to watch Albus almost catch the Snitch.
George was quietly sitting with Angelina, lost in thought until her hand tightened around his. His brown gaze turned to her, and he managed a small smile before looking away, trying to content himself with watching the Quidditch game going on. He usually proved to be a rather happy, even playful man when anywhere but the Burrow, because he spent a large handful of years there with the other half of his being at the time. Fred. And on top of being at the Burrow, there were a bunch of other Weasleys around. Would Fred have had kids playing around there too? His brown gaze grew just a little sad.
James sqwawked in surprise, and perhaps annoyance when he nearly fell off of his broom. Thanks, Albus. He quickly righted himself, turning on his broom to pay brief attention to his younger brother go after the Snitch. Yet, poor poor Al missed it. His lips curled slightly in a smirk as he flew off to continue the game, thinking to himself (yet he had been on the verge of saying it out loud.) That's what you get for almost pushing me off my broom.

Smokey FeatherHarry nodded in agreement at that. “It always is a bit weird without the boys arguing or Lily going on about her new interest of the day,” his lip curled into a soft smile at the thought of his kids. Summer with them was always the best. It was the exact opposite than his summers with the Dursleys. The bespectacled man raised his brows as he noticed his middle child. “Gin, look at Al, there.” His smile broadened to a grin. “He’s with a girl. And he’s trying to be cool.” His son’s head was back, casually leaning on the fence. “I know a thing or two about trying to impress girls,” Harry joked. Angelina looked at George carefully before getting up. “I’m going to try and stop Fred and Louis from tearing each other apart,” she muttered, kissing the top of her husband’s head. From years of experience, she knew that sometimes the best thing to do was leave him alone. Solidarity seemed to help George, and Angelina knew that more than anyone. Lucia let out a guffaw as she saw James almost get knocked off of his broom. She flew towards her friend, grateful she’d remembered to secure her strawberry-blonde hair into a ponytail. The wind was picking up just a bit, and no doubt her mass of waves would be caught. “Too bad you didn’t wipe out,” she joked, a cheeky smile lighting up her pale green eyes. “You want to get some Butterbeer?” She offered, flying down close to the ground. Both she and James had been flying for what seemed like forever, and Lucia was flushed and sweaty.

Hermione headed outside with her daughter a pace or so behind her as the pair went to join the rest of the family. Hermione moved to stand with the adults. She saw Harry and Ginny chatting and watching the children play Quidditch. George was looking just a little sad, and Hermione always knew what was happening then. Whenever George lost his spark for a moment, it tended to be because he was thinking of his twin. Hermione could never say she'd been the closest with the twins, in fact as a young girl she looked down on their antics, thinking them childish. But Fred and George had undoubtedly brought a little colour in the world.
She turned her gaze back to the children.
______________
Rose Granger-Weasley headed over towards the children's group, but she just watched the game rather than joining in. She wasn't really the Quidditch sort. She played a little, but didn't bother joining the team. She preferred to keep her feet firmly planted on the ground if she could help it.
She did like to see the family though. She spent a lot of time with her cousins and family friends, and she wouldn't have it any other way. It was like having a bunch of ready-made friends. She didn't even have to try.

Damion noticed Rose somewhat in the background, and made his way over to the pretty redhead. "Don't like Quidditch much?" he asked, a faint Scottish accent weaving its way through his words. He self-consciously adjusted his glasses, his keen amber eyes glowing in contrast to his dark skin. Rose...somehow she made him nervous and awkward. He was here for his best friend, James, but he seemed to be busy with Lucia. Damion smirked; he could guess that Lucia liked James. But who was he to judge? Here he was, smitten by a ginger.

Rose's eyes turned to Damion, the slightly older boy who was best friends with her cousin. He always seemed quite similar to her in some ways, very witty. He seemed quite friendly too. And he had a habit of making her stomach feel like it was doing backflips - in a good way, of course.
"Oh, well, it's alright, but there's something about a flying stick I don't really trust." She responded with a little smile "What about you? You're not playing."

Damion laughed, a rich and low tone escaping from his mouth. “I think I’d rather stick to books,” he shrugged, leaning against the wood of the main house. “Seems a lot safer, and anyway, I like soccer better.” The boy was a 3/4 pureblood, but his father, Dean Thomas, had instilled a love for West Ham into him. “Your cousins seem to love Quidditch, though,” he remarked, gesturing at the various flying teenagers.
