"I'd rather not take a chance Lil." James said using her nickname from when they were younger before rubbing the back of his neck. He knew her better than anyone else as well and knew she hated more, like despised working out. But he didn't question it. He hated stealth but had always practiced it when he could. "Well they probably didn't wanna ruin your training. I mean my mom is in Russia right now to try to figure out who is a certain cult leader and how best to assassinate them. The usual." He was upset his mom took off without him but hey not like he could leave if he wanted. "Mom is good. Been stressed a lot lately but hey nothing she isn't used to. Just glad I have been able to help her every once and a while. You know being the Red Widow and all is a good thing as well as a bad thing." - That was fair she guessed, but life was all about taking chances. She would rather just be genuine about herself to others than treat her life like some big mystery that she didn't want anyone to solve.
"Yeah, but maybe I wanted to ruin my training so that I could pose with George Clooney's star on the Walk of Fame or something," she sighed, voice full of dramatic woe. Of course Aunty Nat was off on a mission. She was pretty sure that dad had invited her, but this had been a mission she'd had planned months in advance.
"I don't think I ever wanna be a 'superhero,'" she mused as James talked about his secret identity, "I mean, I know I'm here, but eh. Being normal would be more fun."

- If Sleipnir had known that AJ hadn't meant to go that high he would've helped sooner, and he felt a flutter of anxiety in his chest as she called for his help. She wasn't too far away in all actuality, probably thinking that she was higher than she was because. If he knew anything from experience, your own added height made you seem a lot farther from the ground beneath.
But AJ wasn't standing. She was flying gradually upwards, and the flutter of anxiety in Sleipnir's chest turned into a steady wing beat. It wasn't as though jumping that high was a great feat of strength or dexterity for a person of his lineage, but he wasn't afraid of missing. He was afraid to hurt her, to knock her out of the air or something like that, and he knew that his sedir hadn't been practiced enough as of late to allow him to pull her out of the sky.
It had also occurred to him that she would probably be more hurt if he didn't steel his nerves and jump, so with a deep sigh from his nose, he called, "Yeah, try not to move!"
He backed up a couple of paces, like a bull ready to charge, stepping from one foot to the other. Alright, alright, he could do this. One, two, three.
With clearly inhuman strength, Sleipnir sprang off of the ground, flapping his arms in an uncoordinated fashion before he suddenly collided with his target, and his arms wrapped around her waist. Clumsily, but on his feet, he landed, face dangerously close to AJ's chest, and muscular arms still wrapped around her waist.
"You okay?"
He was smiling like a dork, cautiously removing one arm to put a hand on his shoulder, pushing her down gently until the rocket-powered shoes were touching the cobblestones below.
AJ was too stunned to move , really . As Sleipnir's body collided with hers , she immediately reached for him , clinging on as best she could as she held him close to her , mostly out of a fear that she would refuse to admit . All she could do was stare at him , her face as red as her father's suit until her toes rested on the ground . She quickly tapped her heels a few times until they shut off , and she pushed her goggles up , shoving her bangs from her face to pin them back .
Her bright blue eyes were wide as she stared at her friend , unsure of what to even say . The way he was looking at her left her practically starstruck , and it was pretty obvious .
" S - Sorry - uh , " She quickly dusted herself off , composing herself to the best of her abilities . She was a Stark , she was above this , she knew she was fine , so why was she still anxious about it ? " Well , guess it's back to the drawing board , ha - Keep moving forward . "
She quickly turned away , almost heading back for a few paces before she stopped to look back to him . She never did answer his question ...
She nodded her head towards the hill , heading up it instead of back to the dorms . She sighed as she looked over to him , her face only now starting to lose it's red hue . " Not gonna lie , that was pretty embarrassing , " She forced a laugh , rubbing the back of her neck . She wished she was better at stuff like that . She wanted to be like her dad ; he was so above it all , like he was always in control , never bothered , never embarrassed . AJ didn't fail , sure , but ... it almost felt like it .
" Thanks for saving my ass . You just gotta learn to stop being better at it than me , " She nudged him with her elbow , smirking her anxiety away as she sat down , looking down the other side of the hill towards the ocean .
It was nice out there , other than the fact that the water went higher than AJ's hips , which terrified her . Aside from that , the sun reflected on it just right , and she couldn't help but be a little more at ease . Most of the time , she hated looking out at water . When she heard she was coming to an island , she wasn't exactly thrilled . Deep water wasn't her thing . But with Sleipnir here it was ... almost tolerable .

You are just to genius for your own good."
Stopping as AJ did he breathed in sharply, inhaling the scent of salty air as the breeze from the water hit him. The young man hadn't really looked around when he'd first gotten here, hadn't actually realized how close they were to the sea. It made him nostalgic for home, both the one of this world and the one of Asgard, which was gone forever.
"You can't unlearn something you were born with," he finally quipped, tearing his gaze from the ocean to look down at AJ, winking, "I almost brought you down using magic. Now, that would've really usurped you."

"Uncle Clint is the kind of person who would rather work his entire life than go on vacation every summer." Though it was true James still remembered the vacation him and Lila went on with Uncle Clint about five years ago. It was during the time in his life he was less closed off from the world.
"I have little to no choice since I technically am one already." He chuckled as he remembered how Fury was so upset with his mom for letting him become the Red Widow.
Soon he jumped easily and grabbed the pull up bar farthest up which was about three feet above his head. "Honestly you and I are total opposites. You hate working out and I love to. You like stealth while I hate it." Sure him and Lila had a lot in common but how we felt about some things was total opposites.

"Ah, of course! Sorry about that."
Arthur's brows arch, huffing out an amused laugh that borders on sheepish as he neatly slides away from the looming door with a playful deferential flourish of his hands. She doesn't enter right away, brown eyes pensive when she answers his more recent inquiry.
"I imagine that it's intentional," he muses, "being that a less straightforward floor plan would make potential assaults more difficult to mount- I could give you a map, if you'd like." They weren't exactly handed out at the hangar but it wouldn't be difficult to draw one up, he was sure. "Wandering around until you're less likely to get lost might not be the most prudent way to go about familiarizing yourself-" A rueful quirk to his lips at the admittance of his preferred method, "-though it is a lot more fun~" A pause and another sheepish smile as he clasps his book behind his back, head canting toward the door to his right. "I'm sorry- am I keeping you?"

|| Irsen Alphonse Frost || Sen , None , Sen|| Roleplayed by ( Rockabye.Baebsae ) || 17 || Male || Related to (Emma Frost)
||Sen has inherited his mother's captivating looks in a way that easily sets him apart as far as his paternally Asian features are concerned. With a willowy build, delicate finely boned features, and ebony doe-eyes, Irsen can give one the impression of a living porcelain doll- An impression that is only strengthened by how little he physically emotes. His cool symmetric features are utterly impassive and unreadable, as is his nonexistent body language unless he explicitly decides to make his feelings known. At 5'7, Sen lacks any apparent defined musculature and appears more suited to daintily perching at tea tables than he does pretty much anything else. There's a wispy quality to him that suggests his being endangered by a mere breeze. Irsen's hair is a glossy burnished cinnamon, falling to slender shoulders and sweeping over his right eye. The thick locks conceal his thrice pierced ear: featuring a dangling crystalline diamond, obsidian spade, and silver heart. He can often be seen wearing at least two rings on both hands and favors the light designer clothing that only looks casual. He tends to prefer lighter colors and stripes.
||Irsen isn't just honest- He can be painfully blunt without a care for mincing or sugarcoating his words. It doesn't matter who he's speaking to or what situation hinges on his not mouthing off- Sen tells it like he sees it. Irsen has a short fuse but one that rarely actually 'blows'. It doesn't take much to rile him up, but he can maintain his coolly clinical mindset without losing himself to anger or irritation. In fact Sen generally attempts to maintain some modicum of decorum, whilst having zero patience for small talk and niceties. While his quiet arrogance isn't exactly conducive to the practice, Irsen loves to teach and help others if it's within his ability to do so. If not, it depends on the person and nature of their problem. Though straightforward and resolutely no-nonsense, Irsen truly does care for others- A select few 'others'. He has a bit of a pack-mind in which very few people actually matter to him.
||Sen has inherited a fair number of his mother's powers, chief among them being Telepathy and Telekinetic Shielding. While her influence has stabilized and strengthened his control considerably, he still has difficulty in marshaling his telepathy and suffers frequent migraines. He's taken to wearing an intricate metallic circlet/machine that is meant to help contain and regulate his psionics. Sen has also inherited Emma's secondary mutation, but to a far lesser extent. He's unable to turn his whole body into diamond, as only a specific part will shift when he feels threatened. Irsen doesn't have a suit (unless Louis Vuitton counts) nor does he adopt an alias. His combat-training is more focused on defense, as he primarily relies on his powers to keep him intact whenever violent confrontations are unavoidable.
||While his arrogance is less obtrusive, Sen's vanity is apparent in his tendency to seek out reflective surfaces and frequent fussing with his hair or clothes. He hates mornings with a passion, as every single one of his abilities are most difficult to control when he's barely awake. Irsen is pretty much always eating or at least talking about food- His psionics currently take a surprising amount of physical energy. And he also just really loves food, which might explain his iron stomach and seemingly magical ability to 'spin' snacks from thin air. Though he can project the aura of a Cold, Wealthy Scion, Sen is surprisingly clingy with those he likes and has a fondness for children and cats.

"Oh no, it is not of much importance," Asta replied quickly with a little smile. He seemed to be very polite, so she allowed herself to relax a bit. "I was only about to learn more about Midgardian culture." Her smile turned a little sheepish as she admitted her slight struggle at understanding Migardian normalcy. "I mean no offense, but I've been here on Midgard for twenty years and everything is still quite strange."
She arrived with the other Asgardians twenty years ago after the reign of Hela and the end to Asgard. Trying to understand Midgardian culture was difficult already, but then everything keeps evolving and changing, making her struggle to catch up. It didn't help that she lived with her mother with all the other Asgardians. They tried to keep away from most Midgardians, of course with the exception of her father who had many mortal friends. Asta had also wanted to meet others, though she chose to stay with her mother until she was invited to come to the island as the daughter of Thor.

"Bull," she accused, "dad loves vacation." Her dad did like to work, she knew that was true, but if it came down to work or spending time with them, well, he normally chose them.
"Um, I hate stealth," Lila informed as she watched him do a couple of pull-ups, rolling her eyes and beginning to go in on the bag, hits sending it swinging through the air, "stealth is for people who can't win in a fight." And yeah, she hated working out, but she did like being fit, so it was an either-or thing.

"He loves vacation yes but he has no choice but to be Hawkeye and if the world needs him he has no choice but to be there. Unfortunetly same with my mom." Sure James' mom loved him and his family but if she was needed to save the world she had no choice while on the other hand he did.

" Not all of us can be so lucky , " She chirped mildly , " but I appreciate you refraining from stealing my spotlight ~ "
As she returned to staring out over the water , she tucked her knees close to her as she sat down , clearly unnerved , but wanting to enjoy the view . Though she didn't want to admit it , AJ was already tired of being here . She was very much a wannabe nomad ; always off visiting places when she had the chance . It was weird , sure , but maybe it was something else ? AJ looked back up to the sky once more with a low ' hmm ' escaping her . Whatever it was , it was enough to pique her interest ...
" Eh , probably no big deal , " She shrugged .

Ah, Asgardian. There had been quite a few roaming the halls now that he thought of it- Not enough to rival those with more prominent parental figures, but enough to make it apparent that their warrior culture is still very much alive. He's glad to see evidence of this, and relieved to see that there are those among them determined to pick up the pieces and move forward even if it isn't in a previously determined direction. -No doubt Thor had a hand in that-
The shorter blonde relaxes slightly, a barely-there lessening of careful tension, and Arthur's smile warms considerably. "Well in that case- a belated welcome to Midgard is in order~ Arthur Rogers, pleased to make your acquaintance." Arthur snaps his arm up, book still in hand, to deliver a mock salute. His smile and stance are easy as he continues, however, "Usually a crash course on earth would involve actually crashing into it first- or a ridiculous number of toaster pastries. The library is a very good start, however. We can work our way up to Pop Tart Parties." He favors her with a brief conspiratorial grin before opening the door.
"You won't find much in the way of social norms and behavioral studies, but I am certain that we could uncover a few books that would coerce this world into making more sense, for a start."
The library is spacious and cool, lit with a curious mixture of electricity and magic- or perhaps magical electricity?- that brightens areas darkened by towering book cases and the corners that cannot be reached by the dusky gold rays of sun penetrating the east-facing windows. Arthur isn't much of a reader, but he can appreciate the beauty of such a quiet and sacred space, eyes casting around with curiosity as the soldier-stiff reserve bleeds from him in increments until he too is a touch more relaxed. Even the dark look Frost slants his way as he passes cannot draw him out of his newfound ease.
Though he has a destination in mind, Arthur flips idly through his book to allow the Asgardian the privacy of her thoughts as she enters. S.T.I's library can't compare to the magnificent hallowed halls of Asgard, but the grand, welcoming atmosphere is one he imagines to be in equal taste.

" Eh , probably no big deal , " She shrugged .
Unfortunately , it was , very much , a big deal . - "You are quite welcome."
Sleipnir chose to remain standing, lithe arms crossed over his chest as he looked out over the sea, only moving when a dread of hair blew into his line of vision and he had to put it back in its place. He pondered her question for a moment, not because he wanted to say no, but because he wasn't sure if he would be able to. He was sure that Tony Stark knew whose b*stard he was, and well, he didn't think he would take too kindly to having him in his home.
"I'll try," he finally said, watching her out of the corners of his eyes, "where do you live, New York? My mother and I took up residence near Battery Park, so I'm sure that I could sneak in a visit or too."
As he watched her; however, he noticed the look of ... well, he couldn't quite make out what it was. First, he turned to face her, and then tipped his head back to scan the skies. That was indeed odd. He'd assumed that no aircraft that wasn't S.H.I.E.L.D.'s could pass over, but the glaring lack of a humongous logo made it all too obvious that it wasn't their property.
He bit at his lip, listening to AJ reason out loud, and trying to draw his own conclusions. He was sure that it was just a rare unmarked S.H.I.E.L.D vessel, or maybe their defenses to keep the island hidden hadn't been enacted yet. As ... rocky as his relationship with the agency was, he'd never accuse them of being sloppy. So yes, as AJ said, it was probably no big deal.
"Hey," he said, after it had passed, dark eyes lighting up, "you showed me your shoes. Would you like to see some magic?" He was out of practice, that was true, but that was only with what the Midgardians called "telekinesis." Shapeshifting? Matter creation? Portal summoning? He still had those down to a science.

AJ was a little much for him but Julius on the other hand was quite tolerable. - "I dunno," Lila said, after she had gotten a couple more good hits onto the punching bag, a few beads of sweat beginning to form on her forehead, "I don't keep track of who likes stealth. I keep track of normal things: music tastes, favorites foods, birthdays."
She jabbed at the punching bag again, throwing a couple kicks in. She was going to miss her coaches as much as she missed her family. Well, okay, maybe a bit less, but at least they made this sort of thing fun. Since Lil had straight up been incapable of training with her father when he'd tried to teach her how to fight, he'd hired her a bunch of martial arts experts. Judo, taekwondo, kickboxing, jujitsu, all sorts of things. They'd been better at getting her to listen.

Rogers. It took Asta a moment to recognize the name. So, he was the son of Captain America, one of the Avengers and close friend of her father. Her thoughts almost made her miss the next part of his sentence, a part that confused her. Granted, she didn't know most Midgardian pastries, but what in the gods was a Pop tart? She wasn't even certain she would learn about it anywhere, save the Internet. Sometimes technology was useful, at least when she had access to it. Navigating the "web" as Midgardians called it was easy. Most of the time.
Realizing she had yet to introduce herself, she gave a small bow that was closer to a tiny curtsy. "I am Asta of Asgard," She replied politely. "It is a pleasure to meet you. And thank you for offering your help." She stepped into the library after him, pausing to take in the sight.
The library was not as grand as Asgard, but with the bright sunlight streaming in the windows and the touch of magic and electricity mingling together, she felt a ping of homesickness grip her, finding herself longing for her old home. Just from looking at the library she knew that she would spend a lot of time here, not just for the books that would let her learn but also for the small but familiar feeling it granted. Looking at the books, she didn't even know where to start.

AJ looked over to him , the tightness in her chest fading as she smiled brightly . " I live in Manhattan ! " She replied , perhaps a little too excitedly before composing herself , " I thought you probably lived far away in like , California or something crazy , not thirty minutes away , " She hoped she'd get to see him after they left . How strange was it that they'd come from virtually the same area , and never crossed paths before ? Well , at least she knew for the future . That was good enough for AJ .
Her eyebrows raised slowly , smirking as she looked him up and down . " Duh ! " She grinned , standing up eagerly , as she tossed her shoes to the side , not even dusting the dirt off her clothes . She circled around him for a minute , " I wanna see everything ! " She laughed . AJ had always been fascinated by the thought that people could harness magic instead of just technology . Her dad was never really as fascinated , always preferring the tech . He could understand that , and didn't quite like things he didn't understand . AJ , however , just liked to learn about anything she could get her hands on , or at least see .
" What is it that you can do , anyway ? " She inquired . " Can all Asgardians use magic ? " She wondered aloud .

AJ , however , just liked to learn about anything she could get her hands on , or at least see .
" What is it that you can do , anyway ? " She inquired . " Can all Asgardians use magic ? " She wondered aloud . - "Well then," Sleipnir said, matching her sunny smile with his own, "I guess we'll have to see each other." Yes, just not maybe in her home. The subway was a beautiful thing; she could come and visit him. Battery Park was an interesting place. It was not Asgard in the slightest, but he had to admit that he enjoyed living there.
As she got up and circled him Sleipnir turned, following her interested gaze before teasing, "Everything?" As she laughed he let a little flame appear in his palm, blue in color. He passed it from one hand to the other, letting it roll along his arm and over the back of his shoulders like one might do with a basketball before picking it up again, mining eating it as he made it disappear. When he had been on that ship with the rest of Asgard he had often done that trick to entertain children. It was easy, but was also arguably one of his favorites.
"Hm, I can create things," he began, waving his fingers at her like a magician, "I can make things disappear, shapeshift, create portals. I'm alright at telekinesis, but it's more difficult than the movies make it seem."
Looking around for something to demonstrate with, he picked up one of her shoes. "For example, consider this sneaker," he began, voice serious, but a light twinkling behind her eyes, "one moment it's here, and..." He dropped it, sending it sailing about a foot downwards before it disappeared into thin air. "The next it's gone!" As he spoke, lopsidedly, the sneaker fell out of thin air and back into his outstretched palms. "Ah, there it is." Waving it as he bowed, the smile breaking its way through and onto his face, he bent down and set it back with its twin.
Pondering what to do next for a moment, he waggled a finger near his ear like some metaphorical lightbulb had gone off. Midgardians sometimes had adverse reactions to full shapeshifting, so he looked upwards and closed one eye for a moment as, with a flash of blue like, his hair went from long, tied back dreads, to spiky and ginger. Then, in another flash of blue it turned blonde and long, down to his hips. And then, in another it was green, purple, nonexistent, and then finally back to normal.
"Not all of us can do it. It's more of a women's craft, actually, not that I think women should have specific crafts, but traditionally it was. My mother's a 'witch,' as you might say, so she taught me how to use it from when I was young." His father was a 'warlock.' She didn't need to know that detail.

"I'm glad for the opportunity to help, Asta." Arthur responds brightly, mentally filing away her brief confusion over pop tarts. Parker would have a field day with that one. He flips his book closed and clasps his hands behind his back as they navigate the labyrinthine network of bookcases. "Is there anything in particular you're looking for? We've passed the books on earth's battle history." He indicates the section Frost had holed up in with a cant of his head. "Battle, not quite war, as it's more or less a collection of the Avengers' most famous skirmishes and battle tactics." Arthur pauses at the end of a narrow passage and scans the row of shelves ahead with a pensive hum. "But if you'd prefer to start off with something more mundane, I believe the books on technology are somewhere to our right...Ah~ I'm sure the section on Asgardian literature should contain introductions to earth as well."
He starts toward the far end of the library, sliding his book into its place as he passes the shelf. "Of course if you have any questions that can't be answered here, I will do what I can to resolve them." Arthur's naturally brisk pace slows somewhat, head tilting curiously toward Asta. "I must admit that I'm equally curious about Asgard- Though you needn't answer any questions if you'd rather speak about something else."

Irsen brushes his fingers against the delicate metal humming against his temple, closing his eyes and tilting his head back with a noiseless sigh. Given his mother's occupation, it isn't unusual that Sen would be reluctantly acquainted with a number of walking migraines. Mind-grating nuisances given physical form and the means to both mentally and verbally confirm just how much of a pain they are- But Lancelot is unique in his level of aggravation. He's the intimidating boss battle music played in video games to psych you out given physical form. What's worse, the discordant constantly dangling-over-the-edge nature of his symphony is partly smothered with lighter tones whenever he's with others; a cacophony of forcibly meshed notes that are then broadcasted directly into Sen's head. Like a telepathic attack but more grating than damaging and Sen knows he's doing this on purpose as some form of payback.
Lancelot passes by his shadowed alcove with another blonde, blue eyes bright as he idly flips through his book and slants a friendly smile at the dark-haired mutant. He's more string instruments than percussion now- allegretto- and Sen takes this to mean that he's found something interesting enough to temporarily let up on his mental torture. The smile is met with a flat look as the cheerful blond turns toward his companion and speaks with his ridiculous sing-song cadence.
Irsen hates him. And he wants ice cream.
The words on the page swim before his eyes when Sen attempts to refocus on his book, brows drawing together slightly as he stares the dancing letters into stillness. "I want ice cream." He mutters, wishing not for the first time that he could eat while he read- Wong sends him a hard look from the opposite side of the cavernous room.
"You sound like you're nursing a broken heart. Are you stalking Captain Dorito again?"
A flurry of woodwind instruments precedes the arrival of an otherwise eerily silent mutant. Shape hazy and indistinguishable, the short ginger- literally ginger- haired teen glides through a towering bookshelf and the soft armchair sitting at Sen's right. He pauses to remember how to solidify himself before immediately oozing into the cushions like a particularly lethargic feline. Sen side-eyes him, thoroughly disapproving of what he sees.
Gin has paired his worn Umbreon hoodie with Spider-Man patterned pajama pants and his incongruous steampunk boots- it's a wonder he manages to move quietly with so many buckles and gears- his red orange hair is sleep-mussed and his glasses are crooked. All point to his just rolling out of bed. Irsen can't believe he allows them to be seen together in public.
"I don't stalk-"
"Didn't we just have a talk about healthy hobbies?" Gin speaks over him, golden eyes alight with amusement. "Stamp collecting, knitting-" Sen wrinkles his nose at the memory of the passive-aggressive tea cozy that Lancelot had recently gifted him. "-Bird watching, zebra spotting-"
"Are you here for the express purpose of being annoying?"
Expression unchanging, Gin retrieves a crumpled scrap of paper from the pocket of his hoodie and pointedly crosses something off the top of his list with a pen he had stolen from Irsen. "I was." Smiling beatifically, he returns the list to his pocket and proceeds to shake open the newspaper that he had been carrying under his arm.
Sen's fingers twitch around his replacement pen and Gin slides a stick of gum across the table to appease him. "So if you aren't being a stalker- which is totally uncool because that's my job- what are you doing?"
The gum takes only the barest edge off his hunger, but Sen appreciates it enough to stop sending violent thoughts Gin's way. "Research." He tilts the book so that the title is visible. Gin's expression is confused for a few heartbeats before the implication clicks into place with a stiffening of his previously lax posture.
"Not fair- You're stealing my title as the originator of the Absolute Worst Plans in The History Of Existence? With a few notable exceptions. Namely Loki...I couldn't top him but it looks like you are making a serious bid for it." The younger mutant's tone is light but his gaze hasn't strayed from the rather innocuous book. It really isn't anything incriminating and the information it provides isn't much to go on, given that it's SHIELD approved- But the intent behind reading it is what causes concern.
Irsen's expression twists, a mixture of dry amusement and delicate distaste.
"It's meant to be a last resort." He responds carefully, lowering the book and idly twirling his pen with an intense focus that is disproportionate to the simple action. He really needs ice cream. Chocolate. So many cherries. All of the cherries. Whipped cream. Bacon bits-
Gin shuffles his newspaper in a pointed gesture and Sen catches the front page photo of a smiling Captain America. His appetite vanishes abruptly, grip tightening on his pen as he returns to listing the possible weaknesses of the super soldier serum with a decidedly steady hand.
