Adrianna chuckled at his remark , sticking out her tongue playfully as she kicked off her shoes and took the others out of her backpack . She tugged them on , adjusting her goggles one last time before tapping the side of them . She shrugged off her overshirt as well and tied it around her waist , freeing her arms a bit more . Though it wasn't observable from the outside , AJ had a system set up similar to the program her father had utilized with J.A.R.V.I.S. inside his suits .
" Alright , FRIDAY , how's it lookin up there ? No stray lightning storms , right ? " She tapped the toes of her shoes on the ground a few times , lighting up one , and then the other , a low whirring coming from them .
" Everything appears to be clear , Miss Stark , "
AJ pumped her fist slightly , straightened out her outfit before dusting it off , clearing her throat and tightening an invisible tie . She smirked , tapping her watch once more before looking to Sleipnir . She was for sure hiding her anxiety behind those goggles . " Alright , let's get this show on the road - "
If there was one thing AJ inherited from her mother , it was a decent sense of balance . Without something to counter her weight , like her father used on his suit with his hands , she'd be heavily relying on her balancing skills to keep her upright . Top heaviness could entail her crashing into the ground headfirst , which was not a pleasant visual . The girl carefully stood on her tip toes , one foot lifting , and then the other , until she was hovering a few inches off the ground . This was good ! At least they were working . She shifted her body to take her forward a bit , and then back to her original spot . It would be difficult to move too much in other directions without something to steady her upper body , but it was a start .
" Nice , " She grinned , tilting her feet a bit to take her a few feet higher , slowly , but steadily . " I hope you're not expecting a show , " She joked , doing her best to cover her nervousness , " These aren't quite stunt - ready yet , " AJ informed Sleipnir , but despite this statement she pushed herself a bit higher , her feet angling out a bit more . She kept her body as level as she could , glancing at the holograms FRIDAY was projecting that were riddled with data . She quickly became absorbed in this , of course , checking over the stability stats and other pieces of the puzzle .
She muttered something half to herself , not paying attention to the fact that she was still gradually going up . It wasn't til she looked down that she realized how high up she was .
" Oh sh- " She instantly felt her gut twist ; she wasn't supposed to be going this high , just a simple test to see if they worked . Of course , it was like her to get distracted by something . While most Starks were too prideful to want to admit they needed help , AJ wasn't quite as stupid . She definitely learned her lesson the last time it happened , and she ended up stuck in a tree for two days .
" Hey , you wanna maybe , uh - help me out here ? " AJ called down to him , trying her best to lower the power on her shoes with her watch . " I know this is shocking because it almost never happens , but I may have made a mistake . "

The SHIELD Training Institute is a sprawling affair of gleaming glass and metals, each of its buildings unique in its make yet built in a way that hints at their belonging to a campus. A floating, isolated, quasi-government-organization-run campus that caters to and houses the offspring of some of the world's most prominent individuals. Arthur almost immediately falls in love with it. Not for how it looks- not quite- but for what it represents.
He's already fairly well-acquainted with the place due to earlier perusal and what he could glean from chatting with the agent that had been part of his 'escort', so Arthur's current wandering is more for the purpose of filling in information gaps than anything. Classes have yet to begin due to the continued stream of arriving 'students', leaving those already settled largely to their own devices. Though tempted to return to the training rooms for another bout, Arthur instead tasks himself with locating the remainder of the younger Avengers- Banner is usually found amongst books, and doesn't Barton favor heights?- This gives him a rather broad spectrum of places to search; but all the better as it allows him to multitask.
Arthur absently flips through the pages of a cracked tome on magical theory as he navigates the pristine halls, blue eyes scanning over esoteric scribbles and passing students alike. There are many that he's both pleased and irked to find aren't immediately known to him. He'll have to-
Narrowed dark eyes meet wide sapphire as Arthur navigates a group queuing into the library. His smooth gait falters for a heartbeat before he manages to carefully mold his surprise into a friendly smile. "Frost! And here I thought you were too good for SHIELD." Delivered with a companionable laugh. "Glad you could-"
"Save it Lancelot." The clipped tone rings with irritation and the faintest hints of disgust, ebony eyes sparing the blond a distinctly dismissive glance before Frost disappears into the hushed gloom of the library with a swish of cinnamon strands and muttered expletive.
Arthur flutters his fingers in a cheery wave. "Good talk."
This is a direct result of his claiming that STI wouldn't be much of a challenge, isn't it?
"Well~ It's safe to assume that Banner isn't in the library."

Upon finding out where the library was, Asta immediately headed that way. Unlike her father, she focused more on reading than fighting, choosing to rely on strategy instead of strength. Though she has been on Midgard for a few years now, she had yet to learn much of the culture of the mortals. She was lucky to be quick to learn, catching on to some of the mortals' strange sayings, but there was still a lot she did not know. Hopeful that the library would have materials that would allow her to better understand Midgard, she moved quickly towards her destination, careful to not bump into anyone on her way. She had yet to meet anyone either, her fear of someone naming her as Thor's daughter was enough for her to keep her distance.
It wasn't long until Asta found the library. As she made her way towards the door, she noticed someone else standing by the door, partially in her way. Being here meant he was one of the heroes' kids, and he looked strong for a mortal.
"Excuse me," Asta said, not wanting to rudely push him out of the way. Realizing she had said it quietly, she tried to speak up, wishing she could quiet her nerves instead of her voice. "Excuse me!"

The uncomfortably familiar was replaced by the opposite, it would seem, and Arthur welcomes it wholeheartedly. Interactions with Frost tend to make him feel as if he's being prodded repeatedly with hundreds of needles. It's unclear whether this is a telepath thing or a Frost thing. Likely both- but that is a puzzle best saved for an extensive visit to the training room. Arthur mentally sweeps the encounter into the one messy corner that he allows into his mind and adjusts his stance so that he isn't exactly looking down. The speaker's heeled boots help, but he guesses that she's still a couple of inches shorter.
"Ah, my apologies. Is there something you need?" The smile had never left his face, but it's warmer now as he faces the blonde fully. There's something familiar about the shape of her eyes and shade of her hair- she's not quite recognizable yet Arthur feels as if he should know her. Which sparks both curiosity and a sense of caution. He's fairly certain that all of the Avengers have been spoken for in some way or another- but he has yet to meet more of the X-Men's spawn besides Frost and Pryde. Sapphire eyes shift briefly toward the library door before returning to her face. The X-Men do tend to be rather pack-minded, with a few notable exceptions. Arthur bears them no ill-will as a whole, however, and so his tone remains bright as he continues, "Pardon my asking, but have you recently arrived? If so I wouldn't mind lending a hand if need be." He waves one of his own with a wry smile. "This place can be rather confusing, I imagine."
Her first words had been polite but small, and something about her body language doesn't sit right with him. Arthur hates for anyone to feel uncomfortable in his presence, which is at least a quarter of the reason why he had automatically offered unsolicited aid with unaired issues. If she really is a member of the X-Men, he supposes that Frost will just have to fight him for her. Which is a rather pleasant thought, all things considered.
_____________
((Good 'ol Rogers. Ready to die for help out a stranger at the drop of a dime.
And yes. Yes he really does tend to begin meetings/introductions with 'what can I do for you?' You'd think he worked in a more extreme version of retail because whatever it is, it is done. Need help moving? The secret Krabby Patty formula? Need to put a hit on your boss? Your turtle's stuck in a tree? Write an entire research paper in a single night? The Fire Nation is attacking? Done.
The 'fight for her' comment comes from Frost not wanting Arthur to even think about breathing in the X-Men's general direction.))

- If Sleipnir had known that AJ hadn't meant to go that high he would've helped sooner, and he felt a flutter of anxiety in his chest as she called for his help. She wasn't too far away in all actuality, probably thinking that she was higher than she was because. If he knew anything from experience, your own added height made you seem a lot farther from the ground beneath.
But AJ wasn't standing. She was flying gradually upwards, and the flutter of anxiety in Sleipnir's chest turned into a steady wing beat. It wasn't as though jumping that high was a great feat of strength or dexterity for a person of his lineage, but he wasn't afraid of missing. He was afraid to hurt her, to knock her out of the air or something like that, and he knew that his sedir hadn't been practiced enough as of late to allow him to pull her out of the sky.
It had also occurred to him that she would probably be more hurt if he didn't steel his nerves and jump, so with a deep sigh from his nose, he called, "Yeah, try not to move!"
He backed up a couple of paces, like a bull ready to charge, stepping from one foot to the other. Alright, alright, he could do this. One, two, three.
With clearly inhuman strength, Sleipnir sprang off of the ground, flapping his arms in an uncoordinated fashion before he suddenly collided with his target, and his arms wrapped around her waist. Clumsily, but on his feet, he landed, face dangerously close to AJ's chest, and muscular arms still wrapped around her waist.
"You okay?"
He was smiling like a dork, cautiously removing one arm to put a hand on his shoulder, pushing her down gently until the rocket-powered shoes were touching the cobblestones below.

"She isn't scared of it. She could ruin me with one piece of technology she makes before I could even cast a sleep hex." Though Julius hated his sister for being the intelligent one he did wanna try and fix things and speaking to Ebb about his own sister being scared of him? No way was that true. She had always been jealous because he had power but what reason did she have to be jealous since he had right to because of her intellect. ( Dragons Vein)

{ ooc: @angelfur this is for you my man. }
- Lila was freaking bored. She didn't want to bug Danny, cause he seemed stressed out enough already, and she couldn't find Peyton, or AJ, or AJ's new boyfriend, so she went to the gym. As comical as it might've seemed, the daughter of Hawkeye wasn't big on exercise unless coerced into it, so she'd forced herself out of bed with the promise of pizza later if she at least smacked at a punching bag for thirty minutes.
The cool air of the gymnasium made the hair on her arms prickle as she stepped inside, immediately going over to the edge of the room to wrap her wrists. It was like tying shoes for her, and within a few moments she was done, throwing a couple of experimental punches into the air before actually looking around to see who else was in here.
Immediately, she caught a familiar flash of obtrusively red hair, and a smile quirked at her lips. "Hey, James!" she yelled, "I didn't know you were gonna be here, cuz."

James winced at the yelling. He instantly recognized the yell as well as the voice. "Hey Lila. How are you." One thing he was glad of was that his mom, uncle and cousin didn't hate him for having taken the Super-Soldier serum.
"Trying to blow off steam. People continue to get on my nerves and don't understand why I try to keep myself a closed book to those I don't know. So quite the norm around here." Sure he was a closed book to basically everyone but his family was an exception especially his cousin who knew him better than even his mom.

- "I'm good!" Lila exclaimed, heading towards him until she got to what could most easily be described as a small jungle gym, reaching up and grabbing onto one of the bars, dangling from it as she listened to James moan. She loved her cousin, she really did, but she didn't think she would ever understand his isolationist attitude towards, well, just about everything.
"I dunno man, maybe you should try opening up to some of them. Most of the people here are, like, my dad and your mom's friends' kids. It isn't like they're gonna use anything you tell them to bite you in the ass."
Lila, unlike James, was just fine with sharing just about everything with just about anyone. It wasn't like they were their parents. She personally didn't have any information pertinent to the safety of the world, and she was pretty sure James didn't either. What was there to hide? The only thing she could think of that she was wasn't willing to share about herself was probably her last report card.

"You know very well why I remain a closed book. Once people had found out I had taken the super soldier serum I was treated differently. I'd rather never have that happen again Lila." Yes he trusted her and yes she knew him best of almost anyone else he still hid things from her.
"I get that our my mom and your dad were friends with a lot of the parents of the other kids but I still don't take chances. Also how is Uncle Clint?" He loved his uncle and worried a lot about him as much as his mother and cousin. Sure they weren't blood related but so what? He was his mom's best friend so of course he considered Hawkeye his uncle.

- "You're not gonna get treated differently here. I literally saw someone who was green like five minutes ago," Lila sighed, beginning to do pull-ups where she hung, thin arms bringing her chin above the bar with surprising ease, sinewy muscle flexing under her bare arms. As much as she hated to work out she'd never been unfit.
She knew that James got it, but the fact that he refused to actually listen to her, like, ever, really pushed her buttons. She loved the man like a brother, but to say that he didn't vex her would be a fat lie. "Dad's good," she responded, "mom and Cooper and Nate and him are all in California this week for family vacation, which they took without me, which is stupid." She grunted, letting go of the bar and heading closer to James, hanging onto one of the punching bags like a koala on a tree trunk.
"How's Aunty Nat doing?"

"I'd rather not take a chance Lil." James said using her nickname from when they were younger before rubbing the back of his neck. He knew her better than anyone else as well and knew she hated more, like despised working out. But he didn't question it. He hated stealth but had always practiced it when he could.
"Well they probably didn't wanna ruin your training. I mean my mom is in Russia right now to try to figure out who is a certain cult leader and how best to assassinate them. The usual." He was upset his mom took off without him but hey not like he could leave if he wanted.
"Mom is good. Been stressed a lot lately but hey nothing she isn't used to. Just glad I have been able to help her every once and a while. You know being the Red Widow and all is a good thing as well as a bad thing."

Asta stepped back as the other turned. Her eyes flicked towards the library door for a second as he started talking, before looking back at him.
"Oh, um, I'm just trying to get into the library," She said, making a small gesture towards the door. "You're kind of blocking the way." She made a small movement, slightly rolling on her feet up to her toes and back down. The small movement helped her focus on something else other than the current interaction, allowing her to calm herself. She studied him closer, taking in his strong features. She hadn't met enough heroes to place who's son he was, and it appeared that he was thinking of entering the library, though he wasn't entering for some reason. She paused for a moment, processing his last question.
"I arrived at the island two days ago," She told him. "Thank you for the offer, but all the necessities are already in my quarters." Though she missed them, having no personal items made moving to the island much easier. She only needed to bring clothes and the necessities. "Though I must admit, this place is harder to navigate then I would like."
