Oka cringed, claws flexing. He could certainly tear this boy apart right now. But he had to trust...

Nieve knew she had to keep Oka's mind busy as the boy worked. "Do you want to here a story?" She asked quietly. The boy still cleaned the wound, cleaning away Ossie's herbs.

"Yes, please!" He cried, unable to hold back the obvious pain anymore. The infection hurt, bad.

Nieve leaned closer to Oka. "Its a small story about me." Nieve glanced at the boy before talking again. "I was born in a litter of three. Me my brother, Granizo, and my sister, Estrella." Nieve paused and started again. "We where born in this barn on a snowy night. My mom was a caring she-cat who took great care of us." The boy put the bloody cotton square in a small plastic page. He looked at the wound, it was very deep. He hoped the bullet wasn't lodged in there.

Oka motioned for the twoleg to keep going. If he stopped now, Oka wasn't sure he had the courage to go again.

Nieve kept going with her story. "But one day my mom got very sick and the farmer took her away. We never saw her again." The boy looked back in his white tin box and took out some long tweezers. The boy needed to check but this would be painful. The boy looked over to Oka.

Oka groaned. "Was that... supposed to cheer me up?" He chuckled nervously.

Nieve gave a small chuckle and licked his chin. "I really have never told a story before." The boy very very gently used the long tweezers. He quickly but gently found the bullet lodged deep in Oka's shoulder.

Oka growled in pain and intense anger. He only needed to swiftly bite the boy's exposed neck, and no more pain would come from the fondling of his wound...

Nieve sensed Oka's anger and pressed herself against Oka's flank. "Its ok." She said quietly as the boy pulled the bullet out. The boy put a hand full of cotton squares on the now bleeding wound. Fear sparked in the boys chest as he could sense Oka's anger.

To quell himself, Oka looked away, baring his teeth as he closed his eyes. "Hurry up!" He said through grit teeth.

Nieve looked at the boy then at Oka. The boy quickly finished up, putting in a couple stitches and covering the wound with a thick layer of cotton squares. Ossie padded closer to Oka and sniffed the wound. "He did a nice job." The husky said quietly. The boy gave Nieve a small pat on the head before leaving.

Oka said nothing, slowly curling into a ball. That was the most dishonorable, disgusting and defiled thing he'd ever done.

Nieve licked Oka's nose. "Are you ok?" She asked quietly.

He closed his eyes and shook his head. Never would this shame leave him, no matter what he did. Two-leg interaction was worthy of death.

Nieve snuggled closer up to Oka. "Its getting late, maybe you will feel better in the morning." Ossie sat back down in his nest and curled up into a ball, his tail on his nose.

Oka sighed and wrapped his tail around Nieve silently. It was going to be a long night.

Nieve pressed her muzzle into Oka's tail and fell asleep.
Ossie laid there for a while, trying to sleep. His eyes opened after a little bit. He could not sleep.

Oka stayed very still for Nieve, but was wide awake.

Ossie sighed quietly, thinking Oka was asleep. Ossie got to his paws suddenly. His silver and white form padded towards the barn doors.

Oka's ears perked, following his noise. What was the hound doing?

Ossie walked through the barn doors and disappeared into the thick shower of snow. Ossie had no plan in mind he just need to get out.

Oka carefully pulled away from Nieve and snuck out after him, keeping lie and quiet.

Ossie padded quietly through the thick shower of snow, his gray and white pelt becoming more white than gray. Ossie paused and looked around, he was rather far away from the barn by now. Ossie lifted his head and let loose and sad howl that rang through the trees around him. The hollow song told of Ossie missing his pack and his love.

Oka's ears curled back and he too howled. Not one of his own, but it sung the great deeds of the pack from whence the healing hound came, and sympathy for its members.

At first Ossie jumped at Oka's howl but he kept going, his howl rang out for a good long time. Ossie sang of many things his pack had done. From small battles against other packs to the huge battle that almost wiped them off the face of the earth. Ossie then stopped and looked over to Oka. " Thank you."

Oka smiled back, and dipped his head in understanding. He didn't dare say a word, and ruin the feeling they had cultivated.

Ossie and Oka stayed quiet listening to the snow and the wind until Ossie started to shiver. Ossie missed his pack horribly but he had not told any one until that moment. Ossie got to his paws. "Come on, it getting cold." The husky's blue eyes glittered.

Oka sighed and nodded. Was there more to say, and more to sing? It was too cold to do so now.

Ossied walked right beside Oka helping him through the thick snow. Ossie spotted the barn through the thick sheet of snow before Oka did. Its doors loomed above the two.
