You can jump in when ever you want! I can make more characters if needed!
A small lanky white she-cat sat atop a stump. Her bright blue eyes scanning the snow covered field in front of her, her whiskers twitched nervously. A snow storm was coming, she could just see the dark gray clouds tumbling over the mountains. The she-cat leaped off her roost the small violet bell around her neck jingled loudly as she did so. She quickly made her way up towards her barn. She knew this storm would blow in some travelers.

First to come was sure to be unwelcome. A tall, gray and red striped wolf came staggering forth, enticed by the smell of mouse. Not eating for days was reason enough to approach.

Nieve had just entered her barn when the stench of wolf made her fluff up. She glanced around, her bright green eyes landing on the gray and red wolf staggering in her barn. Nieve quickly hid behind some two-leg junk.

He staggered in and spotted a hay-bale. With a cough or two he stumbled to it, preparing to fall into it. He fell a meter in front of it, and didn't bother moving to it. Oka was his name. He rolled to his back, taking deep, raspy breaths of strangled life. "H-help..." He first called for someone in his tongue, but when no one responded, he tried again in cat-speak. "Help me.."

Nieve's ears pricked when the wolf spoke in cat talk, she never wolfs could do that. She peaked out from behind the junk. The white she-cat knew very little about wolves but she was very sure most of them didn't speak cat. Nieve stepped out from behind the junk, her bell jingling softly. "Umm, hello?" Nieve's tail was fluffed up twice its size. She hoped she wasn't making a huge mistake.

Ah, another voice. The wolf audibly sighed in relief. "Come closer, feline. I will not harm you.. Truly, I'm at your mercy in this state."

Nieve's whiskers trembled as she got closer. She stopped a couple mouse lengths away from the wolf. The wolf looked like it was about to die right here in her barn. "W-whats wrong?" She meowed quietly.

"I-I'm starving. Please, if you have something..." He knew what this meant to him- in his pack, someone saving your life meant you owed it to them, completely. He'd be practically owned by a cat he didn't know.

Nieve gave a small nod, "I will be right back." She raced off. This was crazy, she was helping a wolf. Her mom would have skinned her alive if she knew what she was going, but Nieve had to help. Nieve leaped out a low window and raced towards the chicken hut. The two-legs that owned this farm would be angry but she didn't care. Nieve leaped over the small mesh fence, killed a chicken, and leaped back out with the lifeless bird in her muzzle. She quickly leaped back into the barn and dropped the fat chicken at the wolf's paws. "Here."

Nieve watched the wolf for a little bit before looking out the window near by. The snow had just started to fall. The small white flakes made small tinking sounds as they hit the barns tin roof.

For the record, Tinypaw hated the cold almost as much as her name. Due to her small size and short fur, it took no time to chill her to the core. The new apprentice's tiny frame was shivering and shaking with every paw step. She would curse at StarClan if she had the energy. How dare they sent her a snowstorm on her first real patrol! Now, she was lost and cold. Alone. Even if she would never admit this, she was near crying too. She was starting to loose hope as the world grew whiter and whiter. Just as she was about to give up, she spotted a barn. The apprentice let out a cry and spirited to the shelter. Without thinking, she easily fit herself through the crack of the door and into the warm barn. Her green eyes scanned the area. What little light came through illuminated a wolf. She yelped loudly and jumped high into the air. her fur would have been puffed up with it wasn't weighted down by snow.

Nieve had been day dreaming when a terrified yelp make her jump. The small white she-cat turned around and faced the small apprentice. Nieve got to her paws quickly and padded towards the other small cat. "Its ok, he means no harm." She called to the other cat quietly. Nieve instantly recognized the sent that came of the other cat. This cat was a clan cat. Nieve had only met one clan cat in her life and he left her with a deep scar on her neck and a hatred for the forest and clans that surrounded her barn and farm.

Tinypaw looked over the barn cat. She did look nonthreatening, but the clan cat took a step back. Threatening or not, she wasn't part of the clan. It was almost taboo to talk to an outsider. "Yes, wolves are known for doing no harm. No one has ever been hut by a wolf before." She said, sarcasm dripping from her tone. Granted, the young cat had never seen a wolf before. However, tales never put them into a good light. Tinypaw did have to wonder why this one wasn't attacking. It did look half starved. The little apprentice would probably too fast if it did decided to eat them. It boiled down to Tinypaw needed this shelter. She was going to freeze outside if she went out again. She had no choice. Her tail flicked.

Nieve's ear flicked, she had caught onto the sarcasm but she chose to ignore it. "He will be gone soon.." She glanced over at the wolf. "I hope." It wasn't that she wanted the wolf gone, she liked the company. It was just if the farmer saw him he would probably get shot by the farmer. Nieve quickly changed the subject. "Im Nieve." she paused. "Your a clan cat right? What are you doing so far away from your home?" the she-cat asked quietly. Nieve sat down near Tinypaw the small violet bell around her neck jingled softly.

A promise of the wolf leaving was enough for the cat. She got distracted by a jingle. Tinypaw stared at the violet ball around Nieve's neck for an obvious minute. It was very odd, yet pretty. She wanted to touch it. The clan cat shook her head to clear it of such thoughts. The apprentice quickly made a make-shift nest and sat down. The straw wasn't nearly as comfortable as her moss nest, but right now, it felt like she was sitting on feathers. She turned to look at Nieve. "I...I was patrolling. Then saw something and decided to chase after it!" She said with a small smile. her lie was easy to see through, even if Tinypaw thought she was a great liar.

Nieve glanced down at her bell then back at Tinypaw, for as long as Nieve could remember she had had this bell, the farmer must had put it on her when she was a kit. The bell had once been on a bright purple collar but Nieve had hated the collar and had managed to get free of it, so the farm had put the small bell on a bit of twine. Snapping out of her thoughts Nieve focused back on Tinypaw. Her whiskers twitched she could sense the lie almost instantly. Nieve's bright green eyes scanned the small she-cat. "You are quite far away from clan territory, you must have been chasing that thing for a very long time."

Tinypaw shifted uncomfortably as the snow started to melt off her tabby pelt. The grey pelt started to show through as the snow melted. The apprentice shifted the wet straw away. Her eyes snapped up when Nieve spoke again. "Ummm, let's see..." She started before perking up. "A bear! I was chasing a bear. It must have ran off."

Nieve slightly tilted her head. "A bear?" She paused. "Its leaf-bare, aren't bears hibernating?" Nieve gave Tinypaw a confused look. "And why would you chase a creature that could eat you in one bite?" Nieve sighed very quietly. She started to wonder, Why is she so far away from her home? Did her clan fall apart or something? Did she really get lost...or did she run away for some reason... That last though stuck in her mind.

Tinypaw had forgotten about bears sleeping in leaf-bare. Her tail flicked as she tried to think of something. "Well~, it looked like a bear. It could have been a large wolf." She suggested. Even she knew the story was getting outrageous. Still, she wouldn't tell anyone, especially an outsider, that she got lost. She would never live it down. At least the last question was easy to answer. "I have to protect my clan! I can't let a bear onto my clan's territory. Cats count on me to keep dangers out." She said with her chest puffed out.

Nieve nodded and gave a small smile. She still didn't believe Tinypaw but she didn't pester Tinypaw with any more questions about how she got here. Nieve gave a small chuckle to Tinypaws last sentence. "Well at least the bear wolf thing didn't has you for dinner and i bet your clan would be proud." She paused a small smile still on her face. "So little bear chaser whats your name?" Nieve slightly tilted her head as she asked the question. The small bell jingling softly against Nieve long white fur.

Tinypaw practically beamed at the white she-cat before catching herself. She snapped her jaw shut and tried to school her face into indifference. It didn't work well. Her eyes still shined. With the topic of her name, her neck fur prickled and she shifted deeper into the straw. Great StarClan, she hated her name. Sure, she loved her parents, but they did not realize how horrible her name was. A name like Tinypaw made her feel weak. She wished she was named Bearpaw or Wolfpaw. Now, those were good names. Tinypaw was just cute. She pouted and didn't make eye contact as she answered. "Tinypaw." She grunted.

Nieve noticed the sudden tension the question caused Tinypaw. She liked her name, yes it made her sound small and kind of weak but Tinypaw looked like a tough young cat the total opposite of her name. "That's a nice name! Its pretty, i bet when you get older other cats will shake when they hear that name!." Nieve purred loudly. "I bet you will be known as the bear chaser and your name will live long after your death." The small white she-cat tried to lighten the mood. Her soft voice seemed to echo slightly in the large barn.

Tinypaw snorted despite herself. "Tinybearchaser? That doesn't sound scary." She said with a purr. She didn't realize Nieve probably didn't know or understand the warrior naming system. The barn cat probably didn't know they had to keep their prefix. She sighed, settling into the dry, warm straw when a gust of wind hit the side of the barn. Tinypaw's claws unsheathed and grasped the hay. The barn seemed stable. Nothing rattled or shook, but Tinypaw knew this was a bad storm. It was the worst she had seen, not like that counted for much with her only being seven moons. The chill was still creeping in. "So, how long do you think this will last?" She asked the she-cat.

Nieve gave a small chuckle. Nieve had heard very little about clan cats, one thing was they had strange names and second they followed strange rules. Nieve's ears flicked the sound of the wind hitting the barn. "I do not know, maybe a day or two." Nieve glanced out on of the barn windows. She could barley make out the small shape of the hen hut. "This storm might last a long time...i hope your family does not go out to look for you." Nieve looked back over at Tinypaw.

Tinypaw let sadness darken her eyes. "Me too." She agreed with a nod. She knew both her mentor and family would be worried sick about her. Thankfully, she didn't think any would foolishly try to trike out and find her in such a storm. She did hope her patrol would make it back fine. She eyes drifted around the barn. It wasn't as large as camp, but it was larger than a den. The apprentice figured more than one cat could be living here. She looked to the barn cat. "Does anyone else stay at the barn with you?" She asked.

Nieve nodded slowly. "Yes and no, Scruffy from the farm a couple days walk from here. Sometimes comes up in green-leaf. But hes getting old and i have not seen him in a while." Nieve wrapped her long fluffy tail around her paws. "Im usually alone." Nieve glanced over at the wolf. "But sometimes i do get visitors, like him and you." Nieve started to make herself a small straw nest near Tinypaw's. "Is your clan big? I heard they are and they had a lot of cats in them." Nieve settled in her new nest, tucking her paws under her chest.

Tinypaw nodded along with Nieve's words. Frankly, Nieve's life sounded sad and lonely. An old barn cat and sometimes a wolf for company? No thank you. Tinypaw would never hang around such an empty place. Good thing for her, the clan was large. "Yes. My mom said we are one of the largest clans. Froststar even said we might have to expand the camp." She said, puffing out her chest again. At first, she hadn't understood what the leader had meant by this. Once her mentor explained it, she grew very proud of being in such a strong clan. She told every cat that would listen, as if they hadn't heard the leader's announcement.
