ιитяσ⚓ α łıfe øи тħe šeα ☠The sea air fills your lungs and, for a second, you feel as if your standing on the deck of your ship, coasting down a wave. Of course, your ship had been destroyed in the most recent storm, leaving you shipless and crewless. But that was okay, because, after the years of healing the injuries you'd recieved, you were finally ready to get back out there and start again. All that you really wanted was to have the sun soak into your bones as the salt water matted your hair and the fresh air cleansed your lungs.
"Ready to go?" A crew member of the trading ship asked, and with a sharp nod you followed them across the boarding plank and onto the ship. It wasn't the pirate ship of adventures you'd hoped for, but it was something. They'd agreed to take you on board and drop you at the next port, and hopefully, from there you would be able to join a pirate crew. After all, that was where your heart truly laid, with the constant new adventures provided from a life on the sea. ρlσт⚓ Basic plot is that we have four different pirate crews (there would obviously be others, but for plot purposes these are the main four) that are looking for a map. This map supposedly leads to a grand treasure that every pirate covets. The trouble is they've got every royal navy out there after them, plus those ruthless bounty hunters.
Join your crew as they make their way through the seas in search of treasure, or follow behind a band of pirates, trying to earn your living. Better yet, follow your general's orders to capture, alive or dead. яυlεѕ⚓ >> no stealing any aspect duh >> be nice pls >> no text talk in rp (this is not a literate RP but I do expect more than three words) >> keep it pg still >> keep characters original but realistic >> all forum rules apply jσιиιиg⚓ >> SN || character name character rank and ship if pirate description (inc. age)/personality/history/family/favoured weapons other

α łıfe øи тħe šeα ☠тнε ƒlчιиg dεcειт⚓ if the name of a ship correlates with the captain in any way, shape or form, then the flying deceit must be the perfect match for both its captain and crew. this crew is notorious for pulling risky stunts, and having long-winded treasure recovery missions. they will lie and cheat to get what they want and will pretend to be something else if it'll earn them some gold. >> captain - Nathaniel Sol
Solstice|| Nathaniel Sol Captain of the Flying Deceit Nathaniel Sol, rather known as Captain Sol, or just Sol, is the 23-year-old captain of the Flying Deceit. His deceit lays in his looks as well as his rubix cube of a personality. Unless you are part of the crew, you probably would not pick out Nathaniel as the captain in a line up, he is certainly not the stereotyped pirate captain. Nathaniel is a male, however the best word to describe him is probably "pretty". Sol has an only slightly muscled build. He is like a willow, not appearing so, but quite strong, and resilient. Sol also has a very androgynous face, with ice blue eyes, the color of a tropical oasis, framed by long lashes. He has a tanned complexion which is in contrast to his white-blonde hair that he ties into loose ponytail occasionally, with the bangs left free to frame his face. His hair hangs easily to his low back and there are a few small braids in hair as well, usually adorned with coins or beads and other trinkets. Clothing wise he boasts a simple wardrobe, with loose, ruffled white shirts, tied at the wrists with leather, a black vest, dark brown pants, worn calf high leather boots, and a typical pirates hat or scarf (depending on the day) he also has a simple silver hooped eating in one ear. He also obviously wears a belt with the scabbards of his swords. His manner of dress is also an illusion, as Sol is quite rich with treasure, so he could be well dressed if he so chose to be. As said before, Nathaniel is a bit of a rubix cube in terms of Personality and as such is extremely hard to solve. Outwardly Nathaniel is quite relaxed/laid back most of the time. He will smile and play nice with everyone, until someone sets him off. Do. Not. Be deceived. His pretty looks are a natural mask to hide Nathaniel’s deadly potential, and the true ferocity, and cunning of the nature he has. Those innocent blue eyes can turn to ice in a moment and be lit with a cold unstable fire moments later. He is a mental sadist and takes a lot of pleasure in toying with others perceptions and thoughts. He also enjoys making things turn out his way and has become adept at reading situations and turning them to his favor. Once a plan is in motion, Sol will do whatever it takes to finish it, and is not embarrassed easily. He will go so far as to dress up as the opposite gender and act in character. When fighting, he becomes brutal and has no qualms of hurting people who threaten him or any of his crew. Due to his life circumstances, he grew up without much respect for, or admiration of authority figures, and has a rebellious attitude to match. He is his own authority, and as such he doesn’t believe he has to answer to anyone. He carries a set of twin-masterfully-made swords that are embellished with gems, in which the handle is carved into skulls, the eyes of which are blood red rubies. He has no family to speak of, and his history is more or less unknown.
>> first mate - Hana Black
>> >> łeмøи тαят << || Hana Black first mate of the flying deceit Hana is a tall girl of 19, making her fairly young to be first mate, but she was a fiery personality and gets the job done, no matter what. She's got sun-bleached blonde hair that falls in a straight curtain to just past her shoulder blades when she wears it out, which is basically never of course. Hana loves to throw herself into her work, and will speak her mind, something that has gotten her into a lot of trouble in the past. This blue-eyed girl is ruthless and will lie left, right and center if it'll get her out of trouble. In saying that, though, it is also important to know that she is incredibly loyal to those who earn her trust, and would do practically anything for them, but if you cross her then you'd better sleep with two eyes open. Hana doesn't favour any particular weapon, but instead will use anything available to her, preferring to 'wing it' as she says. Hana is also incredibly ambitious, unwilling to leave a bet untaken and is always trying to prove herself, just because she can, however, she doesn't know what she'll do when she reaches her ultimate goal of becoming a captain herself, so she's contented herself with being first mate...for now. Although she doesn't talk about it much, it's believed that she has a younger sister that she left behind in her home town. >> crew
>> thejewelthief || Madeleine Jones crew member on the flying deceit At 17 years old, she is still quite small, standing at only 4'11". Her hair is curly and auburn, stopping right before it reaches her shoulders. Her eyes are a cold blue-grey, standing out from her tan skin. There is a long scar along her left cheek from a battle when she was 15. She always wears a long coat, hiding many weapons within it, always ready to fight. She finds humor is the worst of situations, often joking how things could be going worse, and then elaborating. She never shies away from a fight, fully embracing the rush of adrenaline that comes with it. Her greatest joy comes from adventuring. She has no memory of any family, and while this sometimes fascinates her, she doesn't set her eyes on ever finding them. She has lived most of her life on the high seas, as she has always been able to slip onto enemy boats with little problem, due to her small size. Her preferred weapon is a cutlass with a gold handle and a few rubies and sapphires on the handle, though she hides many small daggers and a few pistols on her person.
>> scritchscratch || Adelaide Torian-Duke Crew member of The Flying Deceit. Standing at the height of 5'8", she's fairly tall, with a very muscular build and a huggable figure. One would look at her general demeanor and be urged to let her embrace them; she looks warm and friendly. Her long, thick hair is always tied up with ribbons or rags, and is a pretty red color. Her skin is dark brown and her hands are covered in calluses; she's a very hard worker. Speaking with a plump british accent, she gives off an oddly formal vibe. Her casual daily attire is a loose white blouse, tuxedo vest, and stereotypical brown-striped pirate pants topped with combat boots and a lovely brown bandana. Her face is rather masculine, and her eyes are wide and a pretty dark brown. Adelaide is a complete and total darling. She's polite, well-mannered, and very interesting and well-liked. Yet, under that pleasant surface lies a bitter and distrustful woman. Often the target of her own cruelties, she's stone-cold and dishonest and not afraid to use her kindness to get what she wants. Taking an almost nihilistic attitude on life, she'll recklessly throw herself into danger because she simply doesn't care whether she lives or dies. Some call her a dangerous person, and others call her a party person. In all honesty, she's neither; the most danger she's caused is towards herself, and would never harm a crew-mate she cares deeply for. Her deadly flaw, however, is her overconfidence. She believes she never has a failed plan- that nothing she creates could go wrong, or that none of her ideas are messed up at all. Turning a blind eye to her faults, she (on purpose) keeps her tunnel vision on the future and never, ever looks back. That's her #1 rule- if she grovels in her mistakes, she'll drown in them. One might say she hides her feelings; the truth is, she doesn't recognize them. She could have tears streaming down her face, yet not have the ability to understand her sadness. She drowns any intense feelings in whatever booze she can get her hands on. Her charming nature and sweetness isn't an act; she tries to make it as genuine as possible, but when needed, will fake it to push herself forward. It's quite easy to breach her overprotective surface. Adelaide truly doesn't want to hurt people, but her terrifying coldness has the potential to do just that. Adelaide comes from a very uppity family, and her nature was quite odd to them. She was neither masculine nor feminine; she fit their standards, yet in so many ways she didn't. Eventually her mother became fed up with her inconsistency, seeing as all the couple had ever wanted was a lovely son or daughter to bring up in nobelty. Her father protested, suggesting that they could whip her into shape with some proper school, but her mother was positively through with it. Her parents were very weak-minded people, and it was all or nothing with them. So they traded her off to a pirate crew for a very rich fare, and she grew up learning the basic necessities of the sea. She was left at age 11, and is now 24. Archery is her style; she has a precise aim and when she's after you with a bow, it's lethal.
тнε ριllαgεя⚓ the name of this ship suggests the type of crew pretty accurately. the pillager is known as one of the most ruthless of the pirate ships, with the crew getting in and out as quick as anything, taking no prisoners and showing no mercy. most of them like to leave a token of appreciation to the towns they've visited, generally in the form of fire. >> captain -- claimed by @shootforthestars
captain description >> first mate - Henry 'Hal' Reynolds
>> ✘ тeɴeвrιѕ veɴιт ✘ || Henry 'Hal' Reynolds First Mate of the Pillager Henry is pretty young for being a first mate, at only 23, but this is due to the fact that he has worked his way up the ranks from an extremely young age [see history]. He's quite tall, standing at a round six foot tall, and is quite slim, almost catlike in his physique. This makes him one of the quickest fighters on board the Pillager. You'll never know what's hit you when he attacks you. He has naturally quite pale skin, though it tanned somewhat over his time on the sea, and this skin is riddled with scars. His face is slim, too, with a sharp jaw and high cheekbones. He's quite good-looking, though his eyebrow is split by a silvery scar down the middle of it. His wavy hair is a dark brown colour, though it has been bleached to a lighter mid-brown because of the harsh sun while on the sea. He speaks with a southern English accent, and this is the only information about his history you will ever get, unless he is very close with you. He's no as nice as his looks would suggest. He doesn't get close with anyone, really, unless you're willing to wait a year or so for him to warm up to you. He's the strong and silent type, not really saying much and not appearing particularly friendly. More than that, he's completely messed up. He's ruthless, intelligent and not afraid to kill people. He does not play around. All I'm saying is that if Hal is coming after you, you had better watch out because if you let your guard down for a second, he'll kill you. But if you take the time to get to know him, you will find that he is really a loyal young man who just wants to fit in and is afraid to get close to people. He is always willing to listen to the problems of the Pillager's crew. He is smart and analytical and he doesn't do anything without thinking it through first. He perseveres in everything and he always puts his full effort into anything he does. It's a risk to get to know him, he's a dangerous man, but trust me, he's not as much of a monster as you'd at first assume. Henry Reynolds was born to a rich noble family in England. When he was seven, he and his family were sailing on a ship with many other noble families. He can't remember why they were on a ship or where they were sailing, but he imagines now that it was some sort of important occasion. The ship was raided by the Pillager and Henry's parents and older siblings were killed. The pirates found Henry hiding below the deck of the ship, and took him aboard. There was a failed ransom [he had no more family left to pay the ransom] and the ship just happened to need some new powder monkeys. The rest is history. His family are all dead. Hal favours daggers, throwing knives, a shortsword, basically anything that's light and will help him with his advantage of speed.
>> crew
>> >> łeмøи тαят << || Adrian Hollow crew member of the pillager A tall man, with lots of scars and sun-darkened skin, his dark brown eyes are creased into a squint most of the time. You could say that Adrian is the silent, brooding type, which fits him almost perfectly. Although he would deny that if it was ever said to his face. He's had a hard life, and at age 30, he's figured he's seen the world at its worst. Which is why he's got no problems in treating the world in the same way it has treated him. Adrian goes about life with a sense of detachment about everything, unwilling to form connections or get too close to anyone. He's loyal to a fault, and is very much a soldier type. He'll follow orders without question, and if he dies in the process, so be it. He has an axe that he prefers to use in fights. His wife and child were taken by the navy when he was a suspected pirate, he's now become a pirate to get revenge.
тнε кιllεяѕ яαиgεя⚓ the name of this ship links more to the captain than the crew. a pirate with an unknown past, almost everyone believes that they've killed more men than can count. this crew tends to be more solitary than the others, watching out for their own, but not hesitating to turn their back on them if needed. the ship is sleek and fast, some daring to say it can outrun any other, they show more mercy than the pillager, but won't object to killing if necessary, though they try to avoid it. >> captain - Reece Jones

His hands are notably rough in accordance to his previous profession, and his arms are a bit more muscular than the rest of his build, but not to the point where it is an unattractive feature. His chest and neck are also littered with old burn scars from flying sparks. Thoren generally wears simple clothing, with a maroon shirt, left untied at the chest, black pants tied with a red patterned sash, and dark leather boots. He also has a silver band earing in one ear. Thoren is a very brave young man who is willing to risk his life for people or causes that he cares about. He is extremely loyal to those he deems worthy of it. He can be considered brash and impulsive, and is not always the one to think things through, though he does have pretty good reasoning and thinking skills. He just doesn’t always employ them. He also doesn't hold a high regard for authority rules that conflict with his own judgements. He would be willing to break the law if he were to feel it was necessary. In general, he is a good friend, and a solid character. He is dependable, and is generally not two faced. Impulsivity and not always thinking things through would be his major flaws. Prior to his Pirating years Thoren was a Black smith for a small town, at 19 he was married, but within the year their town went under as people died of a sickness. There was medicine, but only the wealthy could afford it. This sickness was also caught by Thoren’s wife. Since he could not afford the medication, he turned to stealing and Piracy, but to no avail, as her life was lost. He made up his mind then, that he would never again fail to provide for those he cared about, and as such has been amassing his fortune through piracy. Thoren is an accomplished swordsman, and weapons user, He will use any and everything at his disposal, and carries two swords and an Axe to use in battle.

It just so happens, that most ordinary people would call her beliefs skewed, and considering the fact that she grew up stealing on the streets, that could be considered somewhat reasonable. Kayleigh is a fighter, that is one thing that those who know her learn very quickly. She stands up for those who can't stand up for themselves, and dedicates every cell in her body to doing what she thinks is either right or needs to be done. It's hard to tell if she's loyal to everyone or no one, with the way she'll fight for all, but often sticks to herself and doesn't form close connections. It's a risk to get to know him, he's a dangerous man, but trust me, he's not as much of a monster as you'd at first assume./ Henry Reynolds was born to a rich noble family in England. The rest is history/ His family are all dead/ Hal favours daggers, throwing knives, a shortsword, basically anything that's light and will help him with his advantage of speed.

Nathaniel walked along the deck of his vessel, running his hand along the hard wood of the railing. He loved his ship, and being at sea. Sure being filthy rich with treasure didn't hurt either. In all actuality, Nathaniel had been extremely fortunate up to this point. Every treasure hunt had panned out, which kept his crew happy and thus kept him in power. He knew not many 23 year olds had the title of Capitan, and he intended to keep his position and prestige. He had heard many tales of mutiny and of troubles on the high seas. Needless to say he didn't intend to that happen to himself.

Hal wandered along the deck of the Pillager, keeping an eye on the crew as he generally had to do if the captain were absent. And well, otherwise Hal didn’t have a whole lot to do. Supervising the ship was about all he could do until it cane to fighting. Well, he helped the crew out occasionally.
The young man was just as infamous as the ship and it’s captain, because he was a ruthless pirate and he was shrouded in nystery - not that he was the only one like that. People just liked a good story. . He would be even more infamous, Hal knew, if anyone knew that he was the only person towards whom the Pillager had ever really shown mercy.
He sometimes wondered what would have hapepned to him if the ship hadn’t needed more crew. Well, he could answer that question easily enough. He would have been killed. Hal always believed in leaving only a couple of survivors to spread the fear of the Pillager. His seven-year-old self would not have been one of them. A spoiled little roch kid was not the ideal candidate. Especially not when there was money to be made.

scritchscratch || Adelaide Torian-Duke Crew member of The Flying Deceit.

Madeleine stood leaning against the rail of the flying deceit. She twirled a piece of her hair around her finger, waiting for the next adventure. She noticed Nathaniel walking along the deck "Good Morning Captain!" She called out to him
