Jasminepaw nodded, listening carefully to everything her mentor said. She was determined to be the best medicine cat she could be. She noticed Mosspool walking away and drooped a little for a moment, but she forced herself to perk up again as she followed her mentor. Rowanbranch touched his nose to Webwhisker's ear lightly, purring. Slitherfoot lead her new apprentice out of camp, feeling somewhat wistful as she remembered taking Mosspool for her first tour of the territory. "It's important to familiarize yourself with all the territory landmarks, so you'll never get lost as long as you know what to look for." She meowed as she began to lead her apprentice to the Great Willow. Webwhisker's pelt grew warm at Rowanbranch's gesture. What would they do now that they were warriors? Maybe soon, once their vigil was over, she could begin that conversation. "I'm glad I'll be sitting vigil with you," She purred, touching her nose to his cheek. Jasminepaw nodded seriously, looking around her and taking in all of her surroundings. The further they got from camp, the more anxious she became. "W-will I ever really know my way around here?" She asked uncertainly. "I never realized the territory was so... big." She blinked up at her mentor with wide orange eyes. Rowanbranch nodded. "I'm glad we'll be sitting vigil together too," he meowed. "It'll be a lot easier to stay awake having you there with me, even if we can't talk."

Rabbitfrost touched his nose to Kestrelpaw's ear. "Don't worry. Foxes are somewhat common, but you will never be left on your own in the forest unless I'm sure you can deal with whatever you may face. Even for assessments, you will have me watching, even if you can't see me." He paused, thinking for a moment. "We do get foxes and badgers, and sometimes dogs and other dangers in our territory. I can't promise you that our territory is always completely safe from any danger, because that would be a lie and wouldn't help you. I can promise you, however, that by the time you are made a warrior, you will be able to handle any threat that you may face - whether that be knowing how to fight them, or knowing how to get away safely without endangering your Clanmates. And until you are able to do those things on your own, you will always have a warrior or somebody with you." Iciclepaw made sure she stored each scent in her memory along with the name of what she was scenting. She wanted to be sure she could identify these scents again next time she smelled them. Thrush... Vole... Fox... "Will we learn how to identify the difference between stale and fresh scents?" She asked, looking up at her mentor. Kestrelpaw offered his mentor a look of gratitude, feeling the fear begin to simmer back down and away. Rabbitfrost truly was a wise tom, and made the shy apprentice feel braver. He nodded and admitted. “I-I hope I can become stronger.” “Yes.” Finchflight nodded. “Fresh scents are very strong and travel far on the wind. Stale scents are fainter and muskier, full of more decay and fading on the breeze.” He explained to his apprentice. Rabbitfrost gave an encouraging purr. "You will," he promised. "You'll be amazed how much braver and stronger you will become as you continue your training." Iciclepaw nodded thoughtfully and drew in another breath, taking note of the scents. "So... The scent of squirrel is fresh, but the scent of thrush is more stale, and the scent of..." She paused, trying to identify the scent. "I don't recognize that scent," she meowed. "It's very stale, and I'm pretty sure it's a cat, but it's not SunClan." Scarletcloud gave Iciclepaw a curious look and tasted the air for herself. She shot an anxious glance at Rabbitfrost and Finchflight. "She's right," she meowed. "Some of Viper's rogues have been here. Within the last quarter moon, I'd say." (I'm gonna set this up now for some near-future drama. It's not something that'll happen immediately, but I think I want to bring the rogue group back. It'll be a good opportunity for Pebblepaw and Bubblepaw to become warriors, and it'll also add some drama to Scarletcloud's life, as well as the rest of the Clan.)

Thunderheart’s chest pained, full of emotion. “She will never forget you. Your momma just needs to go take care of some cats for a while. Don’t forget, I’ll be here, along with your aunts and uncles, and we’ll still get to see her now and then.” “I understand...” Eveningkit lifted his head with a sad yet accepting look. He knew his mother loved him and his siblings. Jadekit would take a while to accept it, he knew. Eveningkit moved to press close to his mother, mewing quietly. “I’m gonna miss you...” Leafblaze curled down to pull her sons close, too pained to say anything more. She relished the closeness she knew she would have to give up. She would never love any others more than her kits, or her mate. She looked up at him. “And you...it’s...it’s okay if you take another mate, when I go. I will not force you to stay lonely for my sake. But...but I will always love you and only you.” Thunderheart’s breath caught in his throat. “I will never-... I could never take another mate. I’ll never love another cat as much as I love you, Leafblaze. No matter if you call SunClan your home or find yourself traveling with your wanderers, I will always love you.” The large tom pressed his head against Leafblaze. (OOHH What if he and some sunclan she-cat begin to develop feelings for each other and the plot tHiCkEnS)

He blinked with light worry though, at the mention of rouges. “Yuck!” Solarpaw growled. “Rouges smell as nasty as the stories said they would.” She complained. Finchflight eyed Scarletcloud and Rabbitfrost with a deep scowl. “Those foxhearts know better than to mess with us again, surely?”

Even so, she pushed close to him. “Thank you, Thunderheart. For everything. For being my friend, my lover. For seeing the good in me. For giving me our kits...for being you.” She whispered. (Oooh. Vulturesight's eyes widened. "Well - No!" He quickly meowed, far to defensively for his own good. He realized this and tried to calm himself down before adding, much more calmly, "But I do like my privacy nonetheless, I'm sure you understand." “Of course.” Gingersplash taunted smoothly, the bold she-cat giving a small snicker. “I wouldn’t dream of making you even more anxious. I suppose you’re just very fun to mess around with.” "Thanks." Vulturesight meowed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. He stood up again and stretched his shoulders before flicking his tail. "Good luck on that vigil." He added.

She meowed. She lead the way into the clearing that held the largest tree in the territory, her eyes naturally turning to look up at its mighty base. The awe of its size never quite went away. "This is the Great Willow. Herbs and moss grow around its roots." Webwhisker felt a small shiver of excitement on her pelt. "Yeah, you're right." She purred. She was actually looking forward to the vigil, even though she never thought she would.

The trail definitely needs to be followed, but we can’t take the apprentices. We can’t risk them running into the rogues. The scent is stale, so for now, I think it’s best if we just continue with the tour, and we will alert Emberstar as soon as we return to camp.”

(Hmmmm who has an available warrior she-cat? Probably someone really soft spoken or sweet, like the opposite of Leafblaze xD) Thunderheart rumbled a purr into Leafblaze’s ear. “When do you plan to leave?” (Pardon my shortness lol) “It would be best if I departed in a few days. Enough time to say good-byes to everyone...to make sure Sunclan knows I will always love the place I was born, and that I will make twolegplace an ally to the clan, as best as I can...” Leafblaze sighed, pressing close. She looked at her kits and felt another wave of pain. “Be brave, little warriors. Protect your clan and your father.” She croaked.

"Wow, I didn't know you were Rustlefoot's mentor! That's so cool!" She paused, thinking for a moment. "What happened during the battle that made so many apprentices become warriors?" She asked curiously. Rabbitfrost hesitated, glancing toward Scarletcloud, then Finchflight, then back to Scarletcloud for another heartbeat before looking at the apprentices, unsure what to tell them. He didn't want to scare them, but he knew if they didn't tell them about the battle, somebody else would, especially now that Viper's rogues had been scented again. "Well... It was a battle that was a long time coming. Viper was a former SunClan warrior, and his rogues had been causing a lot of trouble for SunClan for a long time before the battle." He glanced toward Scarletcloud again, wondering whether or not to mention that they had even sent a spy to infiltrate the Clan and share important information with the rogue group.

"Every cat fought hard," Rabbitfrost agreed. "The apprentices fought especially hard, though. Many of the apprentices were desperate to prove themselves. Rustlefoot and Lynxtail fought side-by-side the entire battle; both wanted to prove that a blind cat could fight like a warrior. Peachflower and Watershade drove off many of the younger rogues; they were desperate to prove that they were ready to become warriors. And Scarletcloud..." He glanced toward Scarletcloud uncertainly. Scarletcloud dipped his head to Rabbitfrost, grateful for his sensitivity toward her discomfort, but knowing she must tell the apprentices the truth, because eventually somebody would. "I killed Viper," she meowed. "I actually was one of Viper's rogues, before I joined SunClan," she meowed. "Viper sent me to become part of the Clan, to be a spy on the inside for him." She took a deep, shaky breath. "But once I became part of SunClan, once I got to know the cats I was spying on... Once I realized I had feelings for Cloudfoot... I couldn't continue. I was part of a border patrol that Viper ambushed, and I watched him take one of Emberstar's lives, I watched his rogues kill Stormflight and nearly kill Rabbitfrost. I knew then that I couldn't spy for him anymore, and that I wanted to be a true SunClan cat. I never felt loved in Viper's group the way I do in SunClan. So I killed Viper. I needed to prove to my new Clanmates, as well as the rogues, where my loyalty lies." She stared down at her paws, scared that the apprentices would hate her now that she revealed that part of her past. Iciclepaw stared at the warriors with round eyes, amazed and horrified by the story she was hearing. She had, as a kit, heard about the battle with Viper's rogues, of course. But she hadn't realized how big a part the apprentices at the time had played in it.

Solarpaw broke the silence as she scampered up to Scarletcloud, looking up at her as she mewed. “The rouges killed first. And you’re clearly more loyal than Viper ever was. He deserved it. So I still like you a ton.” She decided.

"I think it was really brave of you to fight back against the rogues and fight for what you believe is right," she meowed, looking up at Scarletcloud. Rabbitfrost flicked his tail. "Shall we get on with this tour?" He suggested. He glanced up at the sky. "It won't stay light forever, and we still have a long way to go."

Finchflight nodded quickly, looking at Rabbitfrost.

"It's another great hunting spot, especially for birds." Iciclepaw's eyes widened as she looked around. "Wow, it's beautiful!" She exclaimed.

I can even have Leopardstar be patrolling and give a little banter or two ) “Oh!” Kestrelpaw purred gently, enjoying the calm beauty. “I really like this place...it’s so nice.” He admitted. He turned his head as Solarpaw snorted. “Too much water for my liking! I wanna see more cool boulders and trees!”

I feel bad that NightClan, MoonClan, and DayClan kinda fell apart again. I just haven't had the time to keep up with four Clans! But yes, we can have a MoonClan interaction!) Iciclepaw swatted her sister playfully over the ear. "Places like this are just as important as other parts of the territory!" Rabbitfrost purred and looked around. Scarletcloud looked at the apprentices. "We are very near to the MoonClan border now. Taste the air and see if you can pick up their scent."
