100% thunderclan really, just because it was originally riverclan i understand why people would pick river but imo, thunder needs it more than them Hailstar even said it himself. Riverclan has the river and land, while thunderclan only has the land and it gets harder to get food for them in the winter time cause so many prey goes hiding, while for riverclan they're still fat and plum in the winter because of the river. When the twolegs made the river bad riverclan could have just try to hunt on land I understand that they might not be that good on it, but it's best to try and do it. So really I say Thunderclan

Just because RC's been known to sunbathe more than hunt there doesn't mean they won't want to hunt when they meed the extra prey, especially during leafe bare.

Pretty tired of ThunderClan, but since they use Sunningrocks to hunt, can't say that that's not a good reason. It is, and RiverClan cats are just being greedy just so they can bask in the sun. Someone even pointed out in CP that they should only give ThunderClan limited time on the Sunningrocks because they only go there for hunting, but I think their leader was too prideful to agree, it sounded quite reasonable to me since ThunderClan only needs it for leaf-bare.

Sunningrocks should be a neutral area, much like the Carrionplace or the gorge. A sort of border marker, and as should should only be used as a sign of peace, something to bring the clans together.
But, honestly, who cares now? Sunningrocks is probably destroyed with a nice duplex settled where it once stood. Long live that patch of wet stone.

Well, both.
RiverClan did have it first; it was in the middle of the river and when it changed course, ThunderClan took it. But I can't really blame them. RC mostly hunts fish, and they don't even use the Sunningrocks to hunt anyway, while TC hunted there. In leafbare when the river was frozen it would be useful for RC, but TC might find prey hiding in the rocks.
RC already have the advantage with the border - they can swim across it, while TC can't. Apprentices might be tempted to keep chasing after prey that's crossed the border or find some in TC territory. If I was leader of TC, I wouldn't want RC cats that close with only a scent marker as a border.
RC owns it, but TC deserves it.

I mean once the river changed its course and sunning rocks was on Thunderclan's side, the rocks were basically up for grabs by the strongest clan. The only reason it was considered Riverclan was because they were the only ones who could reach it, so now that Thunderclan had greater access to it than Riverclan I think it was an equal fight. Though I am Thunderclan biased so here's why. I recall it being metioned multiple times that while the other clans would starve during leaf bare, Riverclan went well fed because of the river, not to mention they had a lot of land territory too. The river problems started more recently in the TPB arc. Also Riverclan were mentioned to have wide paws that couldn't reach prey in the rocks, they mostly used the rocks to sun and out of Pride. Thunderclan had the forest and that was it, they went hungry during leaf bare and sunning rocks came in handy for extra prey while sunning themselves was a bonus. The river overall just seems like a more sensible border too. Before Bluestar's rule, it seemed that Thunderclan was the stronger clan, during the SE's it seemed that Thunderclan was always beating Riverclan more, both for the rocks and the Riverclan patrol that provoked them by purposely being on Thunderclan land. Though idk Riverclan seems like is always described as the fatter slower clan, while the others are skinnier and faster because let's face it, Riverclan's forest territory had it the easiest for a comfortable life out of all the clans. I really don't know where I'm going with this because what I wanted to put isn't what I ended up with. Like the other clans dealt with more danger and Riverclan had an unreachable island camp, full prey year round, and the river. But I can kind of see why they want the rocks on a superficial level, (not to mention pride and honor)

I think RiverClan had claim to them, no matter which side of the river Sunningrocks was on. They were willing to do the hard work to get to them in the first place. And, even though they didn't use it for hunting the majority of the time, they still should have been able to use it in cases of great need. For example, when the river was poisoned.

tbh I think it could be neutral territory. But if i had to choose, I think RiverClan should have the rocks, as in DotC it was in their territory.
