Simon stayed in the car for a good ten minutes, trying to calm himself down. Eventually it was getting too stuffy in the car, and his breathing was getting worse, so he opened up the car and stepped out into the rain, rushing into the house. The boy stopped on the patio, temptation coming from the little box that was currently in his pocket, and eventually he gave into it. Afterwards he walked inside and stood in the walkway, hovering uncertainly for a moment before walking downstairs and into the guest bathroom, guessing that his inhaler was there. Eventually he found it, used it, and was able to breath properly again. He silently walked into Chicagos room, and laid down next to him, still not saying a thing, just wanted to be with him until he had to go home.

Rosa listened. "Poe is good, though poems are hard for me to read. Jane Eyre, huh? I don't think I've heard of that title before." she said. "What's it about?" She figured if she got him talking about his favorite things then it would help him ease up a little, as long as it wasn't too personal. Plus it would give her the chance to know more about him, and maybe even get some good recommendations on books to read in the future.

Chicago heard the door to the house open and closed his eyes tightly. His chest ached because he knew that he had upset the other and was too hard on him about his family situation. When Simon came into the room and laid down, the senior curled into a tighter ball, still facing the wall. "I don't deserve you. And you don't deserve to be in a bad relationship. I'm too much of an a--hole to be with someone like you. I pretty much deserve to be left alone." His own words hurt himself, but he knew that he was too much. How could anyone like him, let alone love him, if he pushed them to their limit? They shouldn't. And if they do, then their relationship would almost be classified as abusive. That's what he was. And abuser. Not a good person to be in a relationship with. From those thoughts, the raven haired boy squeezed his eyes shut and curled into himself even more.
Wren looked up from the table. "Well, it's about a girl. Her name is Jane Eyre. Obviously." He gave a soft laugh before continuing. "She was an orphan who was made to live with her abusive aunt and gets banished to an extremely strict boarding school. Once she gets released as an adult, she works as a governess and takes care of a man and his dying wife's child. In the end, Jane and the man whose wife dies get into a romantic relationship and, well, you could probably guess the rest. It's your overly dramatic love novel." A soft blush made its way to the boy's cheeks. "It's pretty cheesy if you really think about it. Not many guys like the story, but I think it's written well." With a small shrug, Wren went back to being silent and looking down at his hands.

With a small shrug, Wren went back to being silent and looking down at his hands. "Don't say stuff like that," Simon snapped, before rather roughly grabbing him into a hug from his backside. He buried his head into the others shoulder, not caring if he noticed the slight tremble that had taken over his body since Chicago had moved into the house and insisting on him moving in too, or how strongly he smelt of smoke at the time being. "You aren't an a**hole, you c-," he broke off, coughing for a few minutes. "You care, and that means a lot, I just need to figure o-out how to do this, a-and safely," he rasped, stuttering over some words. "You're a good person, and y-yeah your stubborn but that's what a lo-like about you, even if you end up pushing my l-limits a little, but I did that over the past few months," he continued, hugging him as tightly as he could, feeling some tears leak out. He was terrier that Chicago was going to make him leave, that he wanted nothing to do with him now. Then he'd be left all alone yet again, and that thought terrified him.

Chicago shook his head and covered his face with his hands. "It's not okay for you to like someone like me. Yeah, I care. But I push it too far and don't let down. It's not a good trait to have, Simon. And you have to realize that even though I'm your boyfriend, you can't just let me get away with the things I do." The boy really didn't feel like being held at the moment, his minor claustrophobia making everything feel uncomfortable, the hugs, the blankets, the walls around him. He refused to say anything though because he didn't want to be demanding like he always was. When the other spoke about how his stubbornness was what he liked about him, the senior didn't notice the slip-up. His mind was racing too many ways at once, causing a pressing pain against the front of his skull.

Simon kissed the back of the other boys neck gently, focused on calming the elder one down. He had his own headache he had to deal with, it feeling like someone stuck a nail on the side of his head but he was trying to chase that feeling away. "You haven't pushed me too far, yet, babe, trust me when o say you'll know when you do. And I won't let you get away with it, either, this is you caring, okay? And that's okay, I-it's just a difficult situation all around," he soothed quietly, detaching himself from his boyfriend and unwrapping him from the blankets, sensing that the claustrophobia was kicking in.

Simon said nothing, realizing that trying to talk him out of this mood wasn't going to happen. He just studied his hands, feeling guilty that he'd ruined the entire day just by being a coward, and anger at himself overwhelmed him. He swallowed, realizing that his nails were digging into his flesh, and he took a deep breath. "I'm going to go home. It seems like you need some space to cool off, okay? I-uh, I broke my phone a couple days ago so o guess I'll see you at school on Monday?" He said before standing and leaving, starting the fifteen minute walk back to his mothers house.

The next few days crawled at a snail-slow pace. Simon was terrified that he'd screwed things up royally with Chicago, and it didn't help that he couldn't contact his boyfriend, so he was left in a constant state of nerves, not having any way of being reassured everything was alright. It didn't help that his mother was back to her old mind games, and having him believe by Monday that there was no way anyone could love him and his father gladly gave him away, and his brother reassured everyone of those fears, leaving him weak and trembly by Monday. He ended up skipping school because Aaron did so he couldn't actually get out of the house without running into him. So he was stuck in his room, miserable for most of it, listening as the rain picked up. (Wanna hve a run in between Simon and Aaron that's, like, the "breaking point"? I was thinking of it with Simons glasses being broken on purpose and then Aaron just leaving him somewhere and Chicago finds him wandering around blind.)

(Okay ) Simon just so happened to glance at the date, realizing with a sinking feeling that his AP test was today. Without even thinking he grabbed his crutches, not wanting to waste time and try to put on his leg, and made a dash to the school, wearing nothing but gym shorts and a white tank top. He managed to make it into the gym just on time, gasping as he managed a grin at the teacher, happy that he'd left so fast that Aaron didn't notice, or didn't care. Either way he'd got to school on time for the test and settled near Chicago, gasping for air and looking like a drowned rat. It was actually kind of comical, how he looked and he fave his boyfriend a shy grin, noticing how nervous he seemed and wanted to give him so reassurance even if he was a mess himself.

Rosa listened to Wren's explanation, chin still resting on her knuckles and nodding slowly throughout. "I'm sure it's normal for guys to like that stuff." she said. "Who says they can't anyways? Maybe I'll read it sometime." She smiled, not wanting the blonde to stop talking. "What are some other things you like to do besides read?"
