{ Mason Carter } Male | 19 Mason Carter has fair skin, and a shy, rare smile. His red hair is curly, often falling into his tired, muddy green eyes. The sides and back of his hair are short enough to be straight. He is 5'11”. He is very humble, quiet and ever the optimist through his battered spirit, always trying to find a reason to his being, which he has yet to find. Having grown up poor on a ranch, he has many skills with horses, but couldn't afford lessons. After they lost their ranch to financial issues, he tried out at 16, but was rejected due to his self-taught skills, deemed unprofessional. He had no choice but to drop high school junior year, making college seem impossible. He worked several jobs tirelessly to support his family. As soon as he was old enough, he applied to work in the barns, offering year round services and free work, just so he could board Maverick. He has proven himself an efficient worker. He works late hours studying books from the school in any free time he has, still dreaming of becoming a vet. He rarely gets to ride his horse, and longs to race the trails once more, and partake in rodeo. STABLE HAND
{ Maverick } Mason Carter Gelding | 6 | Lusitano Maverick is definitely no prized riding horse, but is familiar with several skills. He stands 18hh, a pure powerhouse of rippling muscle and tendon, a real working horse. He is bonded to the bone to Mason, having been raised by him from the age of a colt. He's peppy and has a bit of an attitude, but is always ready to get down to serious business. He is a truly stunning horse, a silvery, very light bay roan color, with black stockings, mane and tail, and flecks in his coat. He has a thick, rugged line of black running down his back, that has a dripping pattern down his sides, with black ears and streak down his face. Maverick will work for whoever rides him, but is rather indifferent to the riders. Mason allows Maverick to be used by other riders, as he is trying to earn his keep and more. Belonging to a multi talented breed, he is familiar with dressage, endurance racing, stock and rodeo, and jumping. He shows strong distaste in constantly being in a stall, always galloping wildly when in the pastures, longing to run as he used to. He is very intelligent, able to pick up on the subtlest of cues.
{ Jackson } Mason Carter Male | 2 | Australian Shepherd Jackson’s eyes are heterochromia iridis, with his eyes being blue and brown marbled, with pale red patches fur over them. His coat is long and thick, making him look very fluffy. Blue merle colors his fur from his shoulders back. Pale red coats patches over his eyes and jaw. Blue merle covers the rest of his head, except for the white blaze marking up his nose. He is pure white on his muzzle, with a black nose. Everything except his head, and shoulders back is white. One of his ears stick up, the other flopping down. He always seems to have a goofy grin on his muzzle. He's very playful, and seems to understand human emotions to a T. He was given to the ranch by a neighboring farm as a puppy, and has followed Mason around since.
{ Christopher “Chris” Clayton } Male | 17 | Scholarshipper Chris is an average height of 5’8”, with chiseled features. His dirty blonde hair is styled into an ivy league haircut, complimenting his hazel eyes. He's very helpful, and devoted to riding and caring for any horse, his own or not. He has a good heart, and can be friendly to a fault, and doesn’t mind being trampled over by the richies, making him a doormat. He is very trusting, and gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, because what would he know about their life? His family and background are nothing out of the normal, just a young man from a working class family, hoping to find his place in the world. He has attended the academy since he was 15. His primary discipline is eventing. His secondary discipline is stock. His elective discipline is thoroughbred racing. He can often be found in social situations and sports activity areas, or hanging out with his horse, Napoleon.
{ Napoleon } Christopher Clayton Gelding | 5 | Drum Horse Napoleon is a dapple grey Romani vanner and clydesdale mix, something known as a drum horse, standing at about 16hh. He has black feathering on his front legs, and white feathering on his back legs. His mane and tail are the same grey color, the tips of his tails fading into a dusty light brown. His upper neck and face lighten to a grey almost white, but not quite. He’s a very somber horse, occasionally bonding to a rider, but comes alive when training or riding. He is very competitive, and can have a rebellious streak. He is used for general riding and eventing.
{ Lachlan Stone } Male | 17 | Richie Lachlan is tall, standing at 6’1”. He isn’t noticeably muscular, but looks can be deceiving. He normally sports a twisted, cocky smirk, accompanied by a grey blue stare. His hair is black, medium length, coming down to just above the nape of his neck, and not styled in any particular way. Diagonally on the right side of his neck, he has a long, jagged scar. Lachlan is a wild card. He’s reckless and unpredictable, suffers bipolar, prone to do things that could seriously injure him. Anyone who can match his carelessness has the slightest degree of his respect. He has a very cynical outlook on life. He's very bitter about the things in his past that he has not come to terms with. He's a very shady character over all, and could obviously benefit by having someone to trust. Nothing of his past or family is known to others, despite being boarded since 13. His skill set is vast, and daunting to competition. His primary discipline is hunter / jumper, something he truly excels at. His secondary discipline is endurance racing. His elective discipline is haute ecole. His boarded horse is Buckshot.
{ Buckshot } Lachlan Stone Gelding | 7 | Mustang Buckshot is the most stunning of mustangs, wild-hearted buckskin. His fur is a medium shade of tan, with the common color points, dark brown, almost black, mane and tail, nose, and knee high stockings.Around his barrel, he is a lighter shade of tan. He is truly majestic, and independent. He falls in complete sync with Lachlan, their brooding and rebellious attitudes completely changing them into competitive, dangerously skilled competition when paired together. He is used for hunting, but not jumping, and endurance racing.
{ Tessah “Tess” Soliani } Female | 17 | Scholarshipper Tess is 5’5”, with a tanned lithe figure. She has almond shaped, chestnut eyes, that can be a clear indicator of her mood. Her dark brown hair is thick, long, and wavy it is, almost curly. She most oftenly puts it in a ponytail, letting her straightened bangs part around her face. She loves to be around people, but doesn't allow being pushed around by the richies. She has a twin brother, but was shattered when he was taken by her mother when her parents divorced, forcing her to a life alone with her father. She hasn’t seen him since, and has made it her project to find him again. She thinks of herself as her own competition, and is very ambitious. She’s got an addicting smile, and a riot to be around, cracking jokes. She stands out from the crowd, making her someone you’d definitely want to get to know better. She had applied to join at 15, but was rejected. Within two years, she had come back, her skills drastically improved, the academy would have been stupid to pass her up again. This is her first year. Her primary discipline is thoroughbred racing. Her secondary discipline is jumping. Her elective discipline is reigning.
{ Dakota “Koda” } Tess Soliani Mare | 8 | Thoroughbred Dakota is a real looker, every part the athlete. She is a bay horse, with a black mane and tail. On all of her legs, she has white half stockings, followed by black that start from the white, and extends to above the knees and hocks. She has a white blaze down her face. Dakota is a hard worker, very cooperative and playful. She loves to do recreational riding, a pleasant break from training. She puts her all into everything, and is rather spoiled by Tess when they aren’t working, but doesn’t let it go to her head. She is used for thoroughbred racing and jumping, but isn’t built for reigning.

(So questions or corrections for each below.
Mason: Which barn would you like him to work in?
Maverick: first of all this is super funny my riding instructor' a Show horse had this name! XD also from what I can tell that breed cannot be buckskin. It's either due to them not carrying the gene for it, or the registration just not accepting it. I suspect it's the later since they CAN be palomino which is a cream dilution gene just like buckskin but idk lol
Chris: Make sure his elective discipline is very different from his other two, but otherwise good!)

{Jason "Jace" West} Male | 17 | Richie Jace is tall, thin, and awkward all around, standing at about 5'10" and he is rather pale, despite the time he spends outside riding. His hair is blonde and is kept short, but not too short, and sweeps to the side a little bit. His eyes are a vibrant blue-green color, like the sea. When allowed, he usually wears a yellow beanie or at the very least, he tries to keep it on his person in a pocket for good luck. Jace is, as mentioned before, awkward. He doesn't have a lot of friends and typically trips over his words... a lot. About the only things he can do right are ride horses and play the guitar and those are about the only times that he doesn't have trouble talking to people. Jace has been at the academy since he was 15 when his little sister, Ash, first applied. Primary Discipline is eventing. Secondary discipline is competitive trail riding. Elective Discipline is dressage. Also enjoys playing the guitar and other music things. [ Blaze ]
{Witch's Curse (Curse)} Jace West Stallion | 7 | Arabian Cursestands at 14 hands and is a dappled gray Arabian with black socks. He listens well, despite not being gelded, but would do better if Jace would make the call. Most days he does what is wanted and picks up on things rather quickly, but some days it's like Curse's head is in the clouds and he has trouble getting things right. He is used by Jace for eventing, dressage, and competitive trail riding. [ Blaze ] Private
{Ashton "Ash" West} Female | 15 | Richie Ash is about 5'6" and is somewhat muscular. She has long, wavy blonde hair that is usually pulled back into a ponytail when she rides, but is loose during all other times, and her eyes are a dark green color. Ash is sassy, to say the least. She is a little spitfire. Ash isn't afraid to speak her mind and usually what she has to say isn't very nice. As far as Ash is concerned, she is spoiled and doesn't feel like she has to try very hard. Her brother is Jace and she applied to the academy when she was 13. Primary Discipline is steeplechase. Secondary Discipline is Thoroughbred racing. Elective Discipline is stadium jumping. Also enjoys basically any other horse sport and swimming. [ Blaze ]
{One Night Only (Night)} Ash West Gelding | 4 | Thoroughbred Night is a fairly standard looking black Thoroughbred at a height of 16 hands. He has a single white sock on his front left leg and a white blaze down his face. Night is a laid back kind of horse, despite his young age. He adores Ash more than anything... except for maybe racing. Night is used for steeplechase, Thoroughbred racing, and stadium jumping. [ Blaze ] Private
{Drake Martin} Male | 16 | Scholarshiper Drake is a mildly muscular, rather tan, about 5'8" guy with shaggy black hair that is, typically, a consistent mess and happens to usually fall in front of his pale blue eyes. Drake is a friendly, upbeat, very optimistic guy that does have mild bipolar disorder, but that's mostly controlled by the medication he takes. This is his first year at the academy since, after competing for a while, someone suggested he should try and apply and here he is! Primary Discipline is stock. Secondary Discipline is barrel racing. Elective Discipline is western pleasure. Also enjoys all of the other western sports, and animals. [ Blaze ]
{Follow Your Dreams (Dreamer)} Drake Martin Mare | 6 | Appaloosa Dreamer stands at about 15 hands high and is a dapple gray Appaloosa mare with black socks, a white blanket, and a black mane and tail. She is an excellent ranch horse and that's what she did before Drake hauled her off to the academy. She can be a bit snippy and isn't the kind of horse you could leave a kid with. She is used for stock, barrel racing, and Western pleasure. [ Blaze ] PRIVATE

(Stressful, for sure. Crazy expensive. I showed every month usually or every other month, at least $500 for a local show, if I went far or out of state I spent up to $1000...plus Lessons. I got that cheaper tho cuz I taught lessons and summer camp, and trained and showed other people's horses so yeah. I can't ride for now, it's been three years. Have had some hip surgeries)

(Okay! Since Maverick is Haute Ecole I'll put him in the English barn ^.^
Yeah I kind of figured it's just that they won't register them -.- stud books are silly. Like with some pinto colored Quarter Horses they are purebred but Show paint colors. It's actually how the American Painthorse began lol

(No worries
Well staff don't really have different disciplines they just do whatever the heck they like, lol.
Your horse can do multiple disciplines but they must all be either western or English, not both. It's basically impossible for a horse to learn cues for both- western uses neck reining where as English uses direct reining. So he'll either be used for English sports, or western, does that make sense?)

[ How do we determine dorm numbers? ]
Mason was busy studying books in Maverick's stall, before he checked his watch. He shot up like a bullet, sweeping together his scores of marked up loose leaf, his textbooks, english literature, and his pencils, dumping them into a sort of book bag, and shouldering the pack. He rubbed Maverick on the nose, hustling out of the stall, Jackson close on his heels. He skidded out of the barn, sprinting towards the grand entrance. He wasn't sure what time he was supposed to report, but he didn't want to push his luck.
His curly red hair was falling to his muddy green eyes, and he shook his head vigorously, not missing a beat. He'd been bone tired from working to prepare the stalls for the horses, as well as cleaning up the occupied stalls, and had gotten to studying the books. His long strides carried him over to the Western Fields, then by the dining hall. He was accustomed to running around the ranch, as he often piled work upon himself. He reached the grand entrance, figuring he should look for Wyatt for instructions.
He knew he was probably going to get some lip from the richies, and maybe some scholarshippers, but he didn't mind. As long as he could stay he didn't mind. Jackson was nipping at his ankles, something he only did to Mason. Mason was terrified he'd do it to one of the horses or kids, but Jackson seemed to understand not to. He slowed to a jog, his eyes sweeping the area. Wyatt. Wyatt. He was repeating the name in his head, knowing he might get distracted by all the other newcomers. He scanned the faces, trying to pick out Wyatt. Hopefully he wasn't going to get in trouble. He weaved through the incoming kids, finally finding Wyatt. He ran up to him, trying to read whether he was bothered or not.

(Oh I'll do it! Working on adding your forms now, that's why I'm slow, lol)
Wyatt raised his eyebrow as Mason, inviting him over. Wyatt made sure to avoid the kids- they weren't his responsibility, after all. Just the barn, his staff, the horses..."Why you even bothering reading that stuff?" he wondered, motioning towards his literature books. It wasn't like he had to; he wasn't here to study, fortunately for him. Or, unfortunately, in some cases. "Relax," he reminded, feeling like Mason thought he was late or something. "We ain't really got much else to do but wait for dinner," he teased, patting his stomach as though he was hungry.

(So I just want to make sure. You want Mason to work in Western Barn, and what disciplines did you decide for Mason's horse Maverick? If you want him in the Western Barn I figured you would go with reining or western pleasure or trail riding. If he's doing stock he'd be in the rodeo barn. It's totally up to you, I just remembered you said you wanted Mason to work in the same barn as Maverick is boarded so I wanted to make sure!)

Mason let out a sigh of relief. It was just the beginning of the school year, he'd only been here since the summer, and he couldn't afford any mistakes. At Wyatt's remark, he kicked the dirt with his shoe. "I know it's stupid, but I wanted to go to college and become a veterinarian." He let out a sad sigh, as if he knew his dreams were a long way off. He'd come from a dirt poor family, and now that the ranch had probably been knocked down by whoever owned it now, he had nowhere to go but to the academy. The thought of the ranch made him sad, it was all he'd ever known. All that wild land for the horses and stock was probably going to have houses built on it. All the animals that lived there...
He fixed the frown on his face nodding. "I wouldn't mind a good supper, myself." He stared at his shoes for a while, and when Jackson came trotting back to him with a bone he'd probably dug out of the trash, he let out an exasperated sigh. He grabbed at the bone, and Jackson danced away. "Alright. I'll go see if any of the kids need help with their bags. Let me know if you need anything in the barn." It was nice to be out of the barn for a while, he thought, as he chased Jackson, who was chewing on the bone. The crazy aussie would probably get a bone splinter lodged in his throat. Mason reminded himself to see if he could scrap together some money or find him a rawhide bone. He snatched the bone from Jackson, tossing it back into the trash.
He looked out at the gates with a grim frown, knowing he would get attitude and be piled with bags for the rest of the night. All in all, he wasn't just working the stables, he helped out everywhere. After all, he was getting a $50,000 fee for boarding waived in exchange for free labor. He looked for someone he could assist.

(JACKSON AND 'G'! Just saying! OMG THEY WOULD BE SO CUTE!)
'G' quickly came up running behind Jackson, the Border Collie grinning ear to ear. As long as the people she loved was happy, so was she. And Wyatt seemed happy, plus Mason, who she had grown to like over the summer break. Especially with his dog. She ponied up to Jackson, sniffing at the Australian Shepard once again, still smiling.
Wyatt shook his head after Mason. The kid wasn't stupid, and it wasn't a stupid idea. He realized- often too late- when his 'jokes' didn't go the right way, usually not as intended. He considered calling after him, but let the boy be. He kicked his spurs against the dust on the ground and watched him leave.
(Now I've got to decide who else to throw in with Mason, lol one sec)
