English
Hunter/Jumper
This style is show-riding that is typical english, based off fox-hunting, and may include both over fence (jumping) and over flat (ground work). Each specialization varies in what the judge looks for. Dress is often very particular, with rigorous rules that must be followed, a certain wardrobe required. Ridden inside and out. Also known as Hunt Seat. These horses are most often Thoroughbreds or Warmbloods, and sometimes ponies. Most riders are expected to excel in all three, but every rider has a specialty they are best at. Specializations include... Hunter: Subjective scoring showing the horse, both over flat and over fences, blazers required with hair-nets, cuffs, collars, and clean, professional attire part of score. How best to show off your 'hunter' horse. Horse must be braided. Simple lead changes, posting trot, and sometimes hand-gallop. Four over-fence classes, one flat class. Max jump height of 4'6". Most of our students start at 2'6" and average 3' or 3'6". Jumper: Objective scoring completing the course in the fastest time possible with no penalty faults, simply requires getting over the the jumps with no refusals, without knocking or clipping the jump, or going over time allowance. Tough, tight turns, difficult combinations, water jumps, ditch jumps, brush jumps, and other things to attempt to spook a horse. Rider attire less strict, requires polos and saddle pads that may match in color. No flat. One class with additional 'jump-off' class for those with no penalties. Max jump height of 5'3". Most of our students start at 3' and average 4'. Equitation: Subjective scoring showing best skills of rider, both over flat and over fences, blazers required with hair-nets, cuffs, collars, and clean, professional attire part of score. Difficult combinations, tight turns. Over flat, may be required to drop stirrups, sit the trot, perform flying lead changes. Max jump height of 3'9". Most of our students start at 2' and average 3' or 3'6".
Eventing This style is competition typically three days, and today holds three specializations including Dressage, Cross Country, and Stadium Jumping, which is scored all together, with the best overall score winning. In the past, this was a five event competition, and included roads & track (endurance riding) as well as a steeplechase, but this has proved to be too unsafe for the horse. Some of the best horses for this are Warmbloods, but Thoroughbreds and Anglo-Arabs are also popular. In eventing, all three of these divisions must be completed for score consideration. The specializations are... Dressage: Over flat, this division, when included in three-day eventing and not on it's own, is used as the first portion of the competition to test the workmanship between horse and rider, and includes complicated maneuvers and beautiful expressive action of the horse, through use of minimal aids. Certain patterns are done. Special attire is required, and rules for turnout are very strict. Cross Country: This jumping takes place over a large course, often through the woods, over natural obstacles such as ditches, water, hills, and more, and also includes other jumps such as bursh jumps. Penalties are awarded for refusals, knocking jumps, or going over time. The most dangerous, this division is the only portion of Eventing that is not itself a sole competition discipline. Attire relaxed. Typically between two and three miles. Max height of 3'11". Most of our students start at 2'6" and average 3'. Stadium Jumping: Also known as Show Jumping, this is similar to the Jumper discipline, in that there are jumps placed in a ring, usually very bright and distracting, and penalties are awarded for knocking or clipping jumps, refusals, or going over time. Fastest time wins. Attire is strict, certain guidelines must be followed. Max height of 5'3". Most of our students start at 3' and average 4' or 4'6".
Dressage This style of competition is a sole discipline with no specializations, and also occurs within the sport of Eventing. Advanced and complicated patterns are performed, and great communication between horse and rider must be accomplished to score well. Some of the best horses for this discipline include but are not limited to Baroque Style horses, Warmbloods, and sometimes Arabians.
Stadium Jumping This style of competition is a sole discipline with no specializations, and also occurs within the sport of Eventing. Similar to the Jumper discipline, it is, by some, considered an extension of that discipline past the levels that it flatlines. Takes place in a ring, indoor or out, with bright and distracting, scary looking jumps, penalties awarded for knocking or clipping jumps, refusals, or going over allotted time. Fastest time wins, and attire is very strict, certain guidelines must be followed. Best horses include Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Anglo-Arabs, and sometimes Appendix horses. Max height of 5'3". Most of our students start at 3' and average 4' or 4'6".
Haute Ecole The 'high school' or 'haute ecole' school jumps, popularly known as the 'airs above the ground,' is often referred to as 'classical dressage' and while not popular like it's modern form, competitive dressage of today evolved from this art form. This is practiced in very few placed today, but where it is, it astonishes people. The leaps through the air by horse and rider, the silent communication that takes place, the rigorous training and tough constraints of the patterns, displays, and tricks performed. Beautiful classic Baroque horse breeds are used, such as the Andalusian, Lipizzaner, Friesian, Lusitano, and others. The Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria, is a prime example of this style of riding that dates back hundreds of years, but when it is, only the best can show their skills.
Endurance Racing Riding for many miles, up to one-hundred, in a race to the finish line. Going as fast as you can won't win you this competition, as you have to be able to complete it. Almost never do these horse and rider pairs gallop, but more often trot and canter, with walking occurring commonly too. May take place over rough terrain, such as hills, mountains, rocks, and water. Serious and regular vet checks occur to check on the horse's well being, and the human health is looked after too. Breaks are required to make sure no one is harming themselves or their horses with their desire to win above all else. The winner will always be the pair that can best balance speed and endurance.
Saddle Seat This style of competition includes many specializations, and involves many different horse breeds, most of which do not compete together, though some do, and some riders specialize in one breed and one division. This riding shows off the high action of horses, with legs lifting high, necks straight, tight heads, and tails held upright. It is a style of riding and competition like no other, though it is most often grouped nearest to 'english' riding, as it's most familiar cousin. Some of the most notable breeds are Saddlebreds, Tennessee Walking Horses, Missouri Foxtrotters, Paso Finos, Arabians, Morgans, and many more. They most often include unusual gaits that are not typical of most breeds. The specializations are... Country Pleasure: Separate classes for Morgan Horses, Saddlebreds, and Arabians, as they do not compete together, this is a class that shows the horse as a 'pleasure to ride' with excellent manners, smooth gait, and less of the high-step action required for English Pleasure classes. Must seem like a calm, 'breeze' ride. English Pleasure: Separate classes for almost every saddle seat breed, this shows the high-action of the horse and comfort, as well as 'show' and elegance of the ride. Most often Saddlebreds, Morgans, and Arabians. Park: This division is scored solely on the horse, looking for lifted legs, high-arched neck, and absolute action. Similar to English Pleasure but rider is not taken into account. Gait should be prancing. Designed for Saddlebreds, Morgans, Arabians and more. Three-Gaited: A Saddle Seat class designed specifically for Saddlebreds only, at the walk, trot, and canter. Scored for high-action and a smooth ride. Five-Gaited: A Saddle Seat class designed specifically for Saddlebreds only, at the walk, trot, and canter, with two ambling gaits known as the rack and slow gait. Scored for high-action and a smooth ride. Plantation Pleasure: This Saddle Seat class is designed specifically for Tennessee Walking Horses, which may perform flat-shod only. The breed may also show in Park and Performance, but in this class they are scored on brilliance and show presence of the horses while still being well mannered, balanced, and manageable. It is the most animated of the flat-shod divisions. Performance: A class offered for many breeds, including Tennessee Walking Horses, Arabians, is similar to Park but horses do not have to be flat-shod, allowing for greater action and 'the big lick.' Equitation: Judges the rider's ability and control of their horse, including things like posture, position, use of riding aids, etc. The rider must look flawless in their ride and show complete control of the horse.
Sidesaddle This art form takes you back to an older day, when the only acceptable way for a woman to ride was side saddle, that is with both legs crossed over the saddle onto one side of the horse. As women lost their oppression, they began to ride in a normal fashion. Today, though, men and women alike have realized the pros to riding in this style, and accepted the challenge that it provides over a traditional riding style. Sidesaddle is performed over many different competitions, often as 'breed' classes or exotic classes, and can be part of Saddle Seat, Eventing, Hunter/Jumper, and even Western Pleasure. Therefore, this may only be chosen as a Secondary or Elective Discipline, and performed in addition to their Primary Discipline.
Western Western PleasureThis style of riding is like it sounds, pleasure riding- that is, cool, calm, and collected- in western style. It evaluates horses on their manners with a cool, calm deposition, as well as a relaxed stance and gait, with a low hanging head required, the sign of a relaxed horse. Western styles differ from English riding in that they use a horned, heavier saddle with thick stirrups, lack a noseband on the bridal, and riders hold the reins in a single hand, using what is known as neck-reigning; rather than pulling on one rein to steer in that direction, you press the rein against the neck to steer that direction.ReigningOften referred to as western dressage, it is a competition where riders guide horses through precise patterns of circles, spins, stops and more. It can be performed indoors or outdoors, and the most common breeds are stock breeds, particularly Quarter Horses. Horses must wear leg protection. Riders wear long sleeved button-down shirts, jeans, and cowboy boots and hats. In most competitions, chaps are also worn. Spurs are allowed but crops are prohibited. Certified equestrian helmets may be permitted occasionally.GymkhanaThis competition includes three events, all timed-trials, with Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, and Keyhole. While Barrel Racing and Pole Bending are lone competitions that take place outside of Gymkhana themselves, the best Barrel Racers or Pole Benders can't win Gymkhana. This sport takes skill in all three, requiring a balance between each event. The best score and time between the three is what wins the game.Barrel RacingIn this competition, horse and rider attempt to complete a cloverleaf pattern around preset barrels in the fastest time. It requires tight form, strong balance, great agility and speed to attain the fastest time possible without knocking a barrel, and performing the tightest turns to cut time. Most often Quarter Horses are used for their impressive sprinting ability and sound agility, but Appendix horses, American Paints, Appaloosas and even Thoroughbreds may be used.Pole BendingThis is a timed event that features a horse and one mounted rider, running a weaving or serpentine path around six upright poles arranged in a line. It requires tight form, strong balance, great agility and speed to attain the fastest time possible without clipping a pole. The most common horses are Quarter Horses, but Appendix Horses, American Paints, Appaloosas, and even Thoroughbreds are used. Competitive Trail RidingThis sport is where horse and rider cover a marked path over fifteen to forty miles a day, depending on the competition and days in the event. It includes regular vet checks, obstacles such as water crossings, opening and closing gates, and jumping logs, as well as setting up camps at night. Different from Endurance racing in that some portions of the competition are subjective- such as obstacle portions and conformation- the fastest time may not always win. Quarter Horses and Arabians are common, but almost any breed may be used. Rodeo
Bronc Riding This rodeo event is sometimes described as 'bull riding with a horse' and calls for the use of a wild, bucking bronco, with which the rider must hang on as long as possible. It is an extremely dangerous event, and only the very best, strongest riders can hope to not only hang on what may, by the spectators, be seens as a wild 'beast', but to dodge it's kicking hooves when the ride has ended.
Stock This rodeo event requires advanced skills at multiple rodeo events, competing in all and the rider & horse team with the best scores overall wins. These events are all things that can also be competed solely, but in this event, it is the jack-of-all-trades that wins. Specializations are... Steer Wrestling: This rodeo event can be part of the larger 'stock' competition, or performed separately as it's own event. This is a rodeo event in which a horse-mounted rider chases a steer, drops from the horse to the steer, then wrestles the steer to the ground by grabbing its horns and pulling it off-balance so that it falls to the ground. The event carries a high risk of injury to the cowboy. All stock horse breeds may be used. Roping: This rodeo event can be part of the larger 'stock' competition, or performed separately as it's own event. Roping involves two different specializations, Calf Roping or Team Roping, but in both, a horse and rider may go after a calf or steer and attempt to rope them from horseback. All stock horse breeds are used. Calf Roping: Involves one horse and rider chasing down a calf and roping it from horse back, tying three legs together so the calf is uninjured but cannot get back up. Invovles tight turns, quick acceleration, top speeds, and sudden stops. Team Roping: Rather than roping a calf, two horse and rider pairs chase down and rope a steer from horseback and must then tie it down without injuring the animal or their horse. Invovles tight turns, quick acceleration, top speeds, and sudden stops. Cutting: This rodeo event can be part of the larger 'stock' competition, or performed separately as it's own event. Horse and rider work as a team before a judge or panel of judges to demonstrate the horse's athleticism and ability to handle cattle during a 2 1⁄2 minute performance, called a 'run.' Shows off silent communications between the pair, tough-decision making on both the rider and horse, as the rider gives the rein slack and the horse must naturally be a 'cutter' and work the cattle without constant commands, requires ability on their part. Not all horses can be trained to be a cutter, takes skill. All stock horse breeds used. Sorting: This rodeo event can be part of the larger 'stock' competition, or performed separately as it's own event. Often known as 'ranch sorting' this sport at the rodeo requires two rider and horse pairs to sort cattle into and out of pens to separate for branding, requiring teamwork between both riders, as well as rider and their mount. This is a timed-event, but requires only the correct cattle to be sorted. All stock breeds used. Penning: This rodeo event can be part of the larger 'stock' competition, or performed separately as it's own event. Known as 'team penning' due to the teamwork necessary between three rider/horse pairs, an evolution of sorting for larger groups. They must work together to get the correct cattle sorted and 'penned' for branding and other activities, against the clock. All stock horses used. Working Cow Horse: This rodeo event can be part of the larger 'stock' competition, or performed separately as it's own event. Also known as reining cow horse due to the ability to maneuver and the silent communication between horse and rider, resembling reining patterns though while working a single cow. Must circle the cow, herd work, and fence work. All stock breeds accepted. Games
Trick Riding The act of performing stunts while riding a horse, such as the rider standing upright on a galloping horse. Other stunts might include hanging upside down off of the side of the horse while attached to a strap or jumping on and off a galloping horse. There are many horse riding stunts and many different variations of tricks, with each rider having an individual style. Tricks can be strap tricks or vault type tricks. This sport differs from Vaulting in being a Western Riding Style, and more actual riding taking place, whereas vaulting is performed when the horse is being lunged.
Vaulting This english riding style trick-riding is much more common throughout the world, even being an FEI world cup competition, and is performed when the horse is being lunged. Otherwise, it is tricks being performed by the rider on the horse, along with some tricks the lunge-worker may have the horse perform. Most baroque horses, and plenty of draft horses are used, as well as various warmbloods.
Polo This is a team sport played on horseback, the objective to score goals against an opposing team. Players score by driving a small white plastic or wooden ball into the opposing team's goal using a long-handled mallet. Each polo team consists of four riders and their mounts. Polo 'ponies' are usually 14.2 to 16 hh. There are two specializations, either... Field Polo: Played outdoors, over a grass-course up to 300 by 160 yards with four riders and their mounts. Arena Polo: Played indoors or in a field restricted in size, using a small air-filled ball and only three riders.
Polocrosse This sport is a 'cross' between polo and lacrosse, played on horseback. Each rider uses a cane or fiberglass stick to which is attached a racquet head with a loose, thread net, in which the ball is carried. The ball is made of sponge rubber and is approximately four inches across. The objective is to score goals by throwing the ball between the opposing team's goal posts. Riders are only allowed to play one mount, rather than having a whole string of ponies to play during a single game.
Horseball A combination between polo, rugby, and basketball on horseback, where a ball is handled and points are scored by shooting it through a hoop with a diameter of 1m. Involves four players, this game evolved from Pato, which has since been banner due to the extremely high mortality rates among players and horses. This game is far less dangerous, with strict rules to make sure riders and mounts are safe.
Tent Pegging This sport derives from ancient cavalry training, and is a mounted game with ground targets that must be hit with edged weapons. Most commonly practiced in middle eastern and asian countries, this sport is picking up in popularity in western countries among the most professional of riders, adding far more challenges to horseback riding and competition. Typically performed at a gallop with a variety of horse breeds.
Fox Hunting In the past, this sport involved hundreds of people and as many horses and foxhounds chasing down a fox to kill. Today, this is done without any injury to any animal, including the fox, dogs, or horses, and far fewer participants may take place in a single 'hunt.' Judges along the route score riders and horses on their skills, conformation, and performance as they follow the dogs, and horses may need to jump fences, logs, cross water, and more. Mostly hot-bloods such as Thoroughbreds, Arabians, and Anglo-Arabs are used, but also Warmbloods are popular. Racing
Thoroughbred Racing This multi-billion dollar sport is exclusive to Thoroughbred horses, and may be performed over dirt or turf tracks, and be either short sprints from as little as two furlongs to over three miles, though most all races are 6 1/2 furlongs to 1 1/2 miles, the mile race being the most common. The test here is to be the best jockey you can be, finding the right spots for your horse, maneuvering well, and finding the right speed and pace for the horse, as well as getting them out of the starting gate as well as you can.
Quarter Racing This racing form is exclusive for Quarter Horses, known for their best ability of racing a 'quarter mile' which is considered a sprint. The absolute best sprinting horses in the world, they have great acceleration and top speeds while they run, though most cannot sustain it over a long period, in contrast to Thoroughbreds and desert breeds like the Arabian and Akhal-Teke.
Desert Racing Races competing over sand-courses at long distances, these are the endurance horses best for traveling at high speeds for multiple miles. The horses used for this racing (most often taking place in middle eastern countries, and in the western united states) are Akhal-Tekes, Arabians, Barbs, and sometimes other breeds, and are usually two to three miles in length, to show the stamina or horse and jockey. It is also tough to race on a sand track, the material leading to slower speeds when hooves sink down and slow the 'spring-back' out of the sand.
Steeplechase This race is often performed by Thoroughbreds, but may also include Anglo-Arabs, Warmbloods and more, and must jump brushes, fences, and ditches while racing at top speeds, galloping over a turf course. Typically fields include 30+ horses, far more than in a flat-racing field, and due to this horses are often crashing into one another, particularly over the jumps. Falls occur often, and it is dangerous to both horse and rider. The average course has 52 inch jumps, usually with anywhere between 20 and 30 jumps, and between 2 or three miles.
Indian Relay It is one of America's oldest sports, originating in many Indian Nations as war games, hunting tactics, and more. Now it shows an exciting test of skill, courage, athleticism, and teamwork. Seven teams race at breakneck speeds and leap from one galloping horse to a standing horse more than once. Tracks are typically one half mile but can be longer. All races are ridden bareback. Any breeds may be entered though most are Thoroughbreds, sometimes Quarter Horses, American Paint Horses, Appaloosas, American Indian Horses, and other Stock breeds.
Harness Racing Racing in harness, or while driven by a buggy or cart-rider, the equipment known as a sulky, having two wheels. Usually performed by Standardbreds who race only against themselves, other breeds include the French Trotter, Russian Trotter, Russian Orlov, and the Finnhorse. The starting gate is motorized, often attached to a vehicle that then races away down the track so the horses can get up to speed and race one another. There are two specializations, horses usually only being able to race one way... Trotting: A typical trot, with horses trotting on the diagonal (as in front right and back left legs moving at same time). Somewhat slower than pacing, and fewer Standardbreds race at the trot now, many pacing. Pacing: This trot is done on the lateral (as in front right and back right legs moving at same time). Faster than trotting, this is the reason so many Standardbreds race rather than trot, and less likely to break stride. Driving
Combined Driving Equivalent to ridden eventing, this sport requires participants to perform three trials and the best overall score will win. The specializations include... Driven Dressage: Same as dressage, the horses must be driven through a pattern of complicated maneuvers and also scored on presentation and turn out, and with multiple horses they were also scored based on movement in harmony. Marathon: Equivalent of cross-country in eventing, where the fastest time with zero penalties will win this phase. It tests speed and endurance, requiring going through obstacles such as water, tight turns, trees, or fences. Scurry Driving: Somewhat like Stadium Jumping in eventing, this is an obstacle course run at a gallop through cones with precision, fastest time winning with no penalties.
Roadster This competition, usually for ponies, exhibitors wear racing silks and ride in a sulky in a style akin to harness racing, only without actually racing, but rather focusing on manners and performance. Roadsters are shown at two types of trot, known as road gait and at speed.
Scurry Driving This event used to only take place solely in Combined Driving, but as of 2001, it is an event in it's own right, and does not have to be competed in addition with Driven Dressage and Roadster events. Somewhat like Stadium Jumping in eventing, this is an obstacle course run at a gallop through cones with precision, fastest time winning. A team of two drivers pair up with a pair of horses.
Fine Harness This driving class shows off saddle seat breeds under harness, usually breeds such as Saddlebreds, Hackneys, National Show Horses, and American Walking Ponies being shows. This style shows off the high-action of these horses, with their big-steps, arched-necks, and absolute elegance.
Pleasure Driving Features light breeds of horses and ponies hitched to a two or four-wheeled show cart. Horses are driven at a walk and two speeds of trot, generally designated as a working or regular trot and an extended "strong" trot. Many horse breeds compete in Pleasure driving. Most classes are judged on the horse's manners, performance, quality and conformation.
Carriage Driving Using somewhat larger two or four wheeled carriages, often restored antiques, pulled by a single horse, a tandem or four-in-hand team. Pleasure competitions are judged on the turnout/neatness or suitability of horse and carriage.
Draft Horse Driving Most draft horse performance competition is done in harness. Draft horses compete in both single and multiple hitches, judged on manners and performance.

Champions Academy is built on over two hundred and fifty acres of beautiful land, with the main campus over-top rolling hills, which extend out past the pastures. Just outside the pastures, though, are amazing mixed forests; the deeper in you go, the more the pines begin. Trails overlap the grounds for multiple miles, and ponds as well as a huge lake are located off the main campus. The nearest town is Vista Hills, and we visit here occasionally for shopping, some easy competition and rarely a few other things; it is about a 25 minute drive, and you can get there on horseback in about an hour and a half, but Students are forbidden to ride there, for the obvious reason of not leaving campus, and for safety of horse and rider as well.
Dorms This is the largest building, and directly overlooks the grand entrance to the campus, multiple floors. Floors are split in half, each side only accessible by separate elevators, the left for the girls, the right for the boys. Four 'adult' dorms are on each half of each floor, one on each end both sides, to watch over the students, with eight student rooms sandwiched between them on each side. Adult dorms are one per room; Student dorms are two per room. Adult dorms have a single double bed, a desk, dresser and closet, with a small bathroom and shower. Students have a room with two twin beds, two desks, and two dressers and a large closet, a small bathroom with a shower. Each has a large square window with a beautiful view of either the grand entrance, or the barns in the distance, depending on which side the room is on, 1-10 viewing the grand entrance, and 11-20 viewing the barns and rest of the property- though the pastures can hardly be seen from here unless on the very top floors. The lobby is on the first floor, and has sitting areas, libraries, games, and tvs with shows and movies. Barn Staff, Teachers, and Trainers sleep here as well as Students. The first floor is known as 'lobby' and every floor after that is numbered (starting with 1) and for the dorms. The 'dorm' designation goes like this: Boy or Girl (B or G) floor number (1) then finally room number (R3), for example G1R3.
Classrooms This is the second largest building and overlooks the grand entrance and parking. Includes all the rooms for all academic classes, and a grand library next to the lobby on the first floor.
Dining Hall One of the favorites for some students, delicious breakfasts, scrumptious lunches, and divine dinners are served here. Snacks are also available at all times outside meals, and dessert is served following dinner. Includes huge kitchen. Two sets of tables are located here, with very long rectangular tables against the walls on outer edges, fitting 12 each, and then smaller round tables in the center, fitting 6 each. Drinks that are always offered depends on the meal. For breakfast: milk, orange juice, apple juice, coffee, and water. For lunch: fruit punch, lemonade, coke, and water. For dinner: milk, coke, and water. For dessert: milk, coffee, and water. Gatorade and water is always available here through out the day so everyone stays hydrated. Meal serving style differs; some days they will use a 'buffet' style, where long serving-line tables are set up in the center (usually three lines) that students and staff serve themselves; they may also be set at each table, so students and staff are served at their tables.
Entertainment Center This average sized area is a fun building, with a movie theater in the back, complete with popcorn and drink stand; lobby in the front similar to that of the dorms; game courts including a tennis court, beach volleyball room, and basketball court; game tables such as air hockey, ping-pong, and foosball; and finally, a relaxation-station, with massage chairs, spa (including sauna, mud-bath, and hot tubs), and mani-pedi station.
Pavilion Great sitting area outside overlooking many riding rings, barns, paddocks, and pastures. Best place to watch the horses, there are two floors, and many study here, read books, write letters, or do other school work. Bottom floor is enclosed with heaters and fans, top floor is open and exposed to outside air.
Pool To be used during freetimes, shallow end starts at 3 1/2 feet, goes to 10 feet for diving, complete with diving board and two pool slides. Crystal clear blue waters with waterfalls on one edge, as well as a 'lounge platform' in the water where lounge chairs are to relax in the water. Stunning in it's beauty, it is truly state of the art. Floating rafts are plentiful here, for those looking to relax. Measures 60 feet by 100 feet.
Pastures Several pastures surround the campus with sprawling hills and small sheds, where horses are kept when not in use in nice weather. We have two small pastures, used for stallions or small ponies. Two gelding pastures, for neutered male horses. Two mare pastures for female horses. One young horse pasture for weanlings and yearlings. Finally, a breeding pasture for mares with foals. Most of the time, Barn Staff are required to get horses from here when they are needed, and only occasionally do Students go here, either they are scholarship kids that are used to doing their own stuff and like it, or richies that are being punished.
English Area Where English style horses are kept in the barn and paddocks, with one indoor riding arena, and two large fields to ride in. Flag color is blue. Sleeping quarters are located in loft for Overseer, and are very nice, state-of-the-art.
Western Area Where Western style horses are kept in the barn and paddocks, with one indoor riding arena, and two large fields to ride in. Flag color is red. Sleeping quarters are located in loft for Overseer, and are very nice, state-of-the-art.
Games Area Where Game style (such as polo) horses are kept in the barn and paddocks, with one indoor riding arena, and two large fields to ride in. Flag color is purple. Sleeping quarters are located in loft for Overseer, and are very nice, state-of-the-art.
Driving Area Where Driving style (carriage & buggy) horses are kept in the barn and paddocks, with one indoor riding arena, and two large rings to ride in. Flag color is green. Sleeping quarters are located in loft for Overseer, and are very nice, state-of-the-art.
Rodeo Area Where Rodeo style horses are kept in the barn and paddocks, with two large outdoor rings. Flag color is brown. Sleeping quarters are located in loft for Overseer, and are very nice, state-of-the-art.
Racing Area Where Racing horses are kept in the barn and paddocks, with a large racetrack consisting of dirt track, turf track, and sand track on outside, starting gates, and portable jumps for steeplechase. Flag color is yellow. Sleeping quarters are located in loft for Overseer, and are very nice, state-of-the-art.
Draft Barn Small barn for the largest draft horses, with extra-large stalls and paddocks. Flag color is yellow-green. Sleeping quarters are located in loft for Overseer, and are very nice, state-of-the-art.
Pony Barn Small barn for the tiniest ponies, with small stalls and paddocks. Flag color is pink. Sleeping quarters are located in loft for Overseer, and are very nice, state-of-the-art.
Trails Hundreds of miles of trail exist beyond the pastures of the campus, most through fields or forest. This is the most common place for training for Endurance Riders or Competitive Trail Riding, and is also a fun place to ride in free time, though occasionally other lessons take place on the trails. We use these trails to take some camping trips sometimes too, though a lot of the students don't particularly enjoy it, particularly the richies. The following is a list of some of the named trails often traveled, in order of difficulty, easy being the least, very hard the most. Easy, Basic, Average, Hard, Very Hard are the difficulty levels. Sunset Trail - this trail follows the edge of the far side of the pastures, away from the barns and main campus. This is a great, romantic ride where the sunset is seen for the majority of the ride. Easy. Pasture Trail - this trail is very basic, and actually winds through the many pastures, with exception of the small pastures. It involves opening and closing many gates as the rider goes through, which for accomplished riders may open from horseback. Easy. Basic Trail - this is the most basic trail of all, fairly plain with not much to see, but is used for practice and lessons quite often. Basic Winding Winter Trail - this trail is so called because it is best visited during winter, though it is beautiful anytime of the year. The rolling hills, the green grass, the crystal snow. It is all nice, wide, and open. The path cuts up, through, and around the hills. Basic. Lakeshore Trail - this trail take horse and rider in a loop around the beautiful lake, with trees to the other side. The path tends to be a mixture of pine needles, sand, dirt and vegetation. Basic. Racing Trail - this trail is named for the action it is used for, to run at high speeds. It is always filled with galloping horses, as it is the longest, straightest, and widest trail of all, cutting straight down the path between to pastures, all the way back through the fields beyond. Average. Pond to Pond Trail - this trail will take you from one pond to the next, for a total of three ponds to follow. It is even common to try and take a dip or cross through the shallow part, if you dare. Average. Far Trail - this average trail is the farthest that isn't too hard, but has pretty views of the far edge of the pine forest, and is a long ride. Pretty scenery, lots of privacy. Average. Stream Trail - this trail follows along the stream and nearly the same path as Far Rocks Trail, except is the lower portion, and somewhat easier than it's "sister trail." It is, however, necessary to cross along the stream at two different points going, and two different points to come back as well. It is a very long path and a good trip to take the whole trail. Hard. Far Rocks Trail - this trail is far from the main campus, and takes about half an hour ride to even get to it, following other trails. The whole terrain is rocky, and is only for the very best riders that have taken the other trails previous. If a rider is seen on this trail that shouldn't be, they will be punished. Only certain horses are suitable as well. It travels along the forest, and for a major potion follows the top of a drop off that a stream has carved, making it dangerous. Very Hard.
Lake Located way out past the pastures and along some trails, this lake is great to fish from or visit for a dip in the summer months, though mostly just by the 'scholarshipers' that don't mind the dirt, or some punk richies just trying to get away and be cool. Beautiful with rolling hills, great place to take photos. A few ponds are spread out on the property, too, but these are visited less, due to pond scum, which is not evident in the lake. A tire swing hangs off a tree overhanging the lake.
Abandoned Barn Located way off the main campus, out in the pine forest deep in the woods, not too far from the lake. It was built long before the academy took over the land, and they just haven't torn it down, since this area really isn't used too much, there hasn't been a need. However, it is often used for parties and students sneak off here a lot.

{Nick Storme} Male | 19 This boy wants nothing more out of life than to work hard and try to get ahead, without the rich kids stomping all over him. He tried to get accepted into the academy when he was younger with his rodeo skills, but failed. Now, he is here to prove himself, doing the only thing he could. He has short, jet black hair, and bright green eyes, and is considered to be handsome by many, but he has faults in his personality, somewhat bitter about never being accepted into the academy, not understanding why. He has always had a hard life. Dorm B1R20 [ Turtleshell ]
Private Horses
{Rinnegato Luna (Rinne)} Violet Fort Stallion | 13 | Hanoverian He is a brilliant, masculine, picture-perfect example of a pedigree Hanoverian, beautiful flowing dark mane and tail, solid black in color with a white snip on his nose, standing at 17.1hh. He has the absolute best-blood, cost over a million dollars, with strong muscles and wonderful neck and head, held just right. Horse lovers drool at the sight of him. As a stallion, he is exceptionally hard to handle, often rearing and bucking, racing through the pastures at break-neck speeds, kicking and telling everyone, human and horse, who is boss. But this beast has one other creature that stands above him, and that is Violet, his owner, and he knows and respects that. He has a soft-spot for her and her alone, and there is some sort of deep connection, a bond of love. She rarely rides him now, and he is occasionally ridden by only the best riders, due to his temperament and price-tag. Used to show for Dressage, but is now the top breeding stallion at the farm, producing foals worth a fortune. His name means 'renegade moon' in Latin, barn name is Rinne, pronounced ren-a. Worth over 1.5 million, last estimate. Stall A1 [ Turtleshell ]
{Esprit Libre (Freedom)} Flynn Cobaine Gelding | 10 | Selle Francais He is a gorgeous, long-legged brown Selle Francais that stands 17.2hh, with white stockings and blaze. He goes by the name Freedom, as his name in french means 'free spirit,' the country he was directly imported from. This is Flynn's high-priced Jumper horse, and he is very close to him, having used him for showing for four years now, though he is just reaching his peak. Together, they rein supreme in the show ring. He has a good nature, listens well to cues, and has a price tag of almost a million dollars. Flynn often lets girls he's trying to seduce ride him, and often gets mad if they ride him better than he himself does, which is often. Stall A2 [ Turtleshell ]
{Elegant Stride (Ellie)} Flynn Cobaine Mare | 19 | Oldenburg She is one of Flynn's Hunters, a beautiful bay mare with long, elegant strides. She is a world-class Oldenburg that has competed and won the National Title twice with her previous owner, before being bought by Flynn who has yet to win the National Title despite her success. She has a gentle deposition that is very relaxed, which makes her respond to cues perfectly and almost instantaneously. She is a friend to Flynn, too. Cost him $750,000. Stands 16hh. Stall A3 [ Turtleshell ]
{Schlachtruf (Warboy)} Flynn Cobaine Gelding | 7 | Holsteiner He is Flynn's newest Jumper, an outstanding dappled gray that stands at 16.3hh, and is a rising star in the Jumper world, the reason Flynn bought him. He still needs training to become the best, and is a hot-head, often disobeying, pulling tricks, and testing his rider. He is certainly not what Flynn bargained for, but when he does well, he is amazing. Blue ribbons across the board. Fast, he can spin on a dime, and soars above a job to never touch the rail. However, he likes to be a brat, and will purposefully knock rails down to peeve off his rider! You have to catch him on a good day. His name is german for 'War Cry' but Flynn calls him 'Warboy' affectionately. Cost over half a million. Stall A4 [ Turtleshell ]
{Little Flyer (Flyer)} Flynn Cobaine Gelding | 21 | Welsh Cob He is Flynn's best friend, and has been with Flynn since he the boy was born. He is a old gray pony that looks white, stands 14.1hh, and Flynn occasionally shows him mostly just for fun. They spend a lot of time together, where would Flyer be without Flynn? Flynn and Flyer, friends for life. He has been getting ill recently, and it concerns Flynn. He is somewhat stubborn, a typical pony, but has a soft spot for Flynn, who always brings him treats. Stall A5 [ Turtleshell ]
{Zwarte Nacht (Night)} Flynn Cobaine Gelding | 14 | Belgian Warmblood He is the newest addition to Flynn's string of horses, an Eventer, so Flynn can work on it more. He is a solid black Belgian Warmblood that is suited for Eventing, with two white socks on his front legs. He stands 17hh, and is a brute in the cross country and show-jumping ring, but also calm enough for dressage. He is somewhat hard to handle, and is only for the most experienced riders, which some might say Flynn is not when it comes to eventing. He aims to be the best, though, and this horse might be his ticket for that. Only cost him 1.1 million which many ridicule him for. His name is 'black night' in dutch. Stall A6 [ Turtleshell ]
{Sapphire Sun (Sapphire)} Rachel Locke Mare | 19 | Belgian Warmblood Rachel's primary eventer for ages, this is the daughter of a famous Olympic Eventer and has proven her own prowess in competition, almost winning Rachel the Rolex last year, one of the greatest events. She is a beautiful salt & pepper gray, and is a confident, calm, cool and collected warmblood that has years of experience, knowing what she is doing. Rachel can't accept that it wasn't the horse that lost her the grand prize, but her own ridding. Stall A7 [ Turtleshell ]
{Rising Sun (Sun)} Rachel Locke Stallion | 6 | Belgian & Dutch Warmblood Mix Son of Sapphire Sun, this stallion needs to be gelded, but Rachel refuses. He has an absolute bad attitude, is too hard to handle, and has little reason not to be- he is not purebred, but the offspring of a Belgian Warmblood (Sapphire) and a Dutch Warmblood. Rachel won't admit it, but this was an accidental mating that she didn't want to confess to, so now there's this guy. He is actually outstanding in eventing, particularly dressage, if he could focus, which would be taken care of if he were gelded. Rachel tries to ride him and compete with him to show the others she was right, but...it's not going great. Stall A8 [ Turtleshell ]
{Wind Crest (Windy)} Rachel Locke Gelding | 11 | Trakehner This chestnut gelding stands at 15.3hh, and while short, excels at dressage, and competes with Rachel regularly. He has four perfect white stockings, and a blaze and snip, and is a kind, laid-back horse that has a friendly nature, and responds well to all cues and commands when ridden. Stall A9 [ Turtleshell ]
{Blue Bell (Blue)} Rachel Locke Gelding | 13 | Lusitano This beautiful Lusitano does okay in eventing, but Rachel mostly just has an obsession with him and the breed. Named for his wall (blue) eyes, he is a dappled gray horse that stands at 16.1hh. He's friendly enough, but kind of standoffish, especially with people he doesn't know, and he has a lot of things he is picky about, and is particularly head-shy. Hard time getting him to eat, as he is picky. Stall A10 [ Turtleshell ]
{Arthur} Rachel Locke Colt | 3 | Alter Real This amazing bay Alter Real colt is young and high impressionable, which is an awful thing since Rachel is trying to train him for Haute Ecole, which is something she is fairly bad at. He tends to follow her around like a lost puppy, and often keeps his nose to the ground, but can be trouble and difficult to handle when he is confused or upset about something. Rachel often complains about having Mickey's dirty, 'cheap' horse housed next to her outstanding Alter Real. 15.3hh. Stall A11 [ Turtleshell ]
{Bogo} Mickey Sertain Gelding | 12 | Thoroughbred This horse is not a prized-show horse worth a million dollars. He does not have perfect conformation or outstanding movement. He's far from the best in competition. But what he does have is heart, and he is Mickey's best friend, the only one who has always been there for her. If anything ever happened to him, well...She would be lost. He's a handsome bright chestnut worth the world in her eyes. He came off the track, a racing thoroughbred that simply wasn't up to par, then was abused by his Endurance Racing owner before Mickey saved him. 15.2hh. Stall A12 [ Turtleshell ]
{Frostat Gale (Frosty)} Jamie Tolts Gelding | 17 | Swedish Warmblood Solid gray 17hh horse that is a excellent show-horse, and has won National Titles for Jamie despite not being the highest price, though is pedigree is supreme. Kind nature, friendly deposition, Jamie will only let the best and most promising of his students ride him, let alone show him. Name is swedish for 'frosted gale.' Stall A13 [ Turtleshell ]
{All That Jazz (Jazz)} Gloria Matthews Mare | 5 | Arabian Jazz is a small chestnut Arabian horse standing at 15hh. She has bright blue eyes. Jazz is goofy, social, and fun-loving which gets her into trouble when it’s time to race and she wants to socialize or goof off. Used for show jumping by her owner, Gloria. Stall A14 [ *MorningGlory* ]
{Napoleon} Christopher Clayton Gelding | 5 | Drum Horse Napoleon is a dapple grey Romani Vanner and Clydesdale mix, something known as a Drum Horse, standing at about 16hh. He has dark gray, honestly still almost black feathering on his front legs, and more grayed, almost white feathering on his back legs. His mane and tail are the same grey color, the tips of his tails fading into a dusty color. His upper neck and face lighten to a grey almost white, but not quite. He’s a very somber horse, occasionally bonding to a rider, but comes alive when training or riding. He is very competitive, and can have a rebellious streak. He is used for general riding and eventing. Stall A15 [ § Nightingale § ]
{Buckshot} Lachlan Stone Gelding | 7 | Mustang Buckshot is the most stunning of mustangs, a wild-hearted buckskin. He is truly majestic, and independent. He fails in complete sync with Lachlan, his owner, their brooding and rebellious attitudes completely changing them into competitive, dangerously skilled competition when paired together. He is used for Hunter on the Flat, and Endurance Racing. Stall A16 [ § Nightingale § ]
{Witch's Curse (Curse)} Jason West Stallion | 7 | Arabian Curse stands at a very, very short 14hh, and is a dappled gray Arabian stallion who is still slowly graying, therefore his legs are still looking black as he grays. He listens well, despite not being gelded, but would do better if Jace would make the call. Most days he does what is wanted and picks up on things rather quickly, but some days it's like Curse's head is in the clouds and he has trouble getting things right. He is used by Jace for eventing, dressage, and competitive trail riding. Stall A17 [ Blaze ]
{Shining Moon (Moon)} Rowan Thomas Mare | 12 | Dutch Warmblood This 16.3 hh dapple grey mare has two stockings on her front right and back left legs, as well as a blaze. Her mane is often brushed out and her tail is sometimes braided when rowan has time. She is often gentle, which makes her a good horse to work with. With proper training, Moon is far from wild and aims to please. She does have a few off days where she is, as Rowan likes to say, a bit mareish. But she does listen to her rider and loves her as much as the girl loves Moon. She is used for Dressage, but has had past training in Hunter/Jumper and Eventing. Stall A18 [ ✫sιℓvεяяσsε28✫ ]
{Ozzy} Sterling Yates Gelding | 5 | Thoroughbred This 15hh brown Thoroughbred gelding has a stripe, and seems to be curious and friendly most of the time. His owner is Sterling, and he is actually used for a variety of disciplines, mostly Endurance Racing, but also does good at Barrel Racing, and even attempts Polocrosse some, but for practice. Stall A19 [ broken ]
{Lang Mork Stilig (Stil)} Abigail Rhodes Gelding | 11 | Swedish Warmblood This handsome, 17hh seal brown beauty is a Swedish Warmblood, of excellent pedigree himself, and high-quality training. He is phenomenal at Dressage, which he is used for by his owner, Abigail. His name means 'Tall Dark Handsome' in swedish, and is known simply as 'Stil' most often. He is the sire of Dark Rhode Home, a filly that Abigail recently bred out of her mare Home Sweet Home. Stall A20 [ Turtleshell ]
{Dark Rhode Home (Rhode)} Abigail Rhodes Filly | 3 | Oldenburg X Swedish Warmblood This young, spirited Oldenburg and Swedish Warmblood cross is showing promise, though there are certainly a few kinks to work out. This formerly chestnut horse is beginning to gray, and is currently Rose Gray in color. She is a horse Abigail purposefully worked to create, breeding her former Dressage stallion and now gelding, Lang Mork Stilig (Stil) and her mare Home Sweet Home. She is high-strung, but she when she's at work, she's surprisingly strung. Abigail is beginning to suspect that she would be better suited to Hunters, rather than Dressage, but she's trying her in both. This girl's got spunk, for sure. Name is sort of a play on words, named 'Dark' after her sire, 'Home' after her dam, and with Abigail's last name. Stands 16hh. Stall A21 [ Turtleshell ]
{Home Sweet Home (Sweet)} Abigail Rhodes Mare | 9 | Oldenburg This chestnut Oldenburg mare is stunning, not just in looks but also skill. She's a pure Dressage mare, but also does some Events from time to time, usually doing well only when her dressage scores can get her ahead. She typically doesn't score well in Cross Country, but can compete decent in the Show Jumping portion. She is the mother of Dark Rhode Home, having been purposefully mated to Lang Mork Stilig before he was gelded. She cost about a quarter million when Abigail bought her, but is worth a bit more now. She's pretty calm and straight-forward, doing well so long as the rider gives her what she needs. If the rider isn't focused...well, Sweet won't give a flying hoot and gives up interest in what she's doing. Stands 15.3hh. Stall A22 [ Turtleshell ]
{Smooth Cruiser (Cruz)} Jordan Adler Gelding | 8 | American Saddlebred Cruz is a 16.3hh dark chestnut saddlebred. He as a thick white blaze and three socks. Though he looks typical on the ground, he turns heads in the show ring. Cruz has a big head and knows he's beautiful. He's a huge diva and can be exhausting to work with, but when he trusts you, he's a dream to ride. He and Jordan are best friends. He's five gaited. Stall A23 [ equus ]
{City of Fallen Angels (Fallen)} Ashton Kloepfer Stallion | 5 | Thoroughbred Fallen is a Thoroughbred who stands at 16hh and is completely fading black, including his mane and tail except for pasterns on his front legs, and he has brown eyes. He is used for Stadium Jumping and Eventing. Stall A24 [ ★♫ ʍµȿɨȼ ɲƹřȡ ♫★ ]
{Frais (Mint)} Easton Hollison Gelding | 8 | Holsteiner Steel gray gelding with black splotch on face still as he grays, he stands 17.2hh, and still acts like a stud. He loves to call to mares and pick fights with other geldings. He likes being the star of the show and will do anything for attention. He was imported to be used as a dressage stallion but he loved jumping so was sold for a price of $10,000. He was bought by Easton's grandma. His show name is Frais, which means fresh in french. He is called Mint. Disciplines used for is mostly Stadium Jumping and Eventing, but also Polo. Stall A25 [ brindlewing ]
{Elegant Lade (Tilly)} Grayson Smith Stallion | 5 | Wurttemberger Tilly is a blood bay Wurttemberger with a star and three cornet bands and one pastern. He stands at 17.1hh. Tilly is a very hot horse. He loves to prance around the pasture and buck when given the chance too. He can only be controlled by Grayson and he hates anybody else trying. He will run out of his stall if the door his open and he is not under control. Tilly is named after the way he tilts his head and shakes it when he outsmarts somebody. Tilly can be calm if he has a buddy to be around. His best friend is Pickles, the welsh pony. His name means Elegantly Charging. He is worth $750,000. Primarily used for Stadium Jumping, Dressage, as well as being used for Breeding. Stall A26 [ brindlewing ]
{Urban Cowboy (Slate)} Olivia Wilson Gelding | 15 | Thoroughbred Slate is a dark bay Thoroughbred. He's 16.1 hands tall with a little white star. Besides that, he's got no other white. Slate has energy, but is well trained. He doesn't purposefully misbehave, but does get excited. Therefore, he's too much for a beginner rider to handle. He's been with Olivia his entire life. He actually belonged to her older brother, but was given to Olivia when he was ten. Used for Hunter/Jumpers. Stall A27 [ equus ]
{Hollywood Heartbreaker (Cupid)} Valentino Buchanan Gelding | 11 | American Saddlebred Cupid is a 15.3 hand black Saddlebred. He has one white sock in the front, and a skinny stripe on his face. Cupid has a puppy dog personality. He follows Gus around and is constantly begging for treats. He likes to test his rider before behaving. Gus ended up on the ground a couple times in the beginning, but Cupid's been an angel for him since. He's five-gaited and is used in saddleseat. Stall A28 [ equus ]
Academy Horses
{Devil's Halo (Halo)} Mare | 5 | Appendix A sorrel mare that stands 15.2hh, she is an Appendix that is hard to handle, absolutely crazy to ride. Fun, but wild. She speeds over jumps, throws constant bucks, rears to keep the rider's attention, and if you think you can steer her? Think again. Beautiful but deadly, all Eventers have to ride her to earn respect. She is used primarily for eventing, honestly doesn't show since she fails at dressage, but is great practice to ride. A love of a horse, if you have the stomach. Stall B1 [ free to use ]
{Trumpet's Call (Trump)} Gelding | 9 | Thoroughbred This beautifully bred Thoroughbred is chestnut with four perfect white stockings, and a big white blaze that runs into a snip. He is 15.3hh, and has attitude, but is a gorgeous hunter, excelling in the ring, though he may often test his rider to make sure they are worthy of him. Friendly and well behaved so long as he has the right rider. Stall B2 [ free to use ]
{Luna's Light (Light)} Colt | 3 | Hanoverian Young seal brown warmblood standing at 17hh, he is Rinne's son, and is currently in training to see what his best skill-set might be. He has four perfect socks, and a large white blaze. Already worth almost a fortune, due to his pedigree, he is outstanding in conformation and will likely be used for breeding one day, as his father was. Stall B3 [ Turtleshell ]
{Pitch Black (Pitch)} Stallion | 6 | Friesian This solid black, 15.2hh Friesian stallion looks bold and beautiful- his personality is far from. He's brash, rude, and inconsiderate of the humans and other horses around him. His favorite thing to do out in the paddock or pasture is to chase dogs that come near. He's training in Haute Ecole, due to his phenomenal pedigree, and this is his second year, in which it will have to be decided if it's actually a good fit. Stall B4 [ free to use ]
{Racontuer (Remmy)} Mare | 5 | Dutch Warmblood This beautiful, 17.1hh stands at the top of her breeds in prospect, coloring, and conformation: imported from Paris, France with only a simple regard to cause jealousy. Her black ombre tail hangs neatly trimmed at her hocks and her mane, a natural straight bliss, both emitting a healthy shine. Her coat not only is bay, but has a stunning coloration with dapples showing in the sun, and a few random white spots dotting her legs. Stubborn mostly, but green and eager to please her owner, as any horse should be. Fear isn't in her vocabulary yet, but as reckless as the mare is, she has a careful regard for where she places her feet. She is in training to be a top Jumper, but Jamie is being forced to sell her for the Academy to one of the students, due to limited time to train her. Stall B5 [ c o u r a g e ]
Other Animals
{Beetlejuice} Tom | 15 | Cat This old, rapidly graying and arthritic cat is a staple of the English barn- spend any amount of time here and you're bound to see him. He's a brownish-gray stripped tabby tom with his front two paws black, and amber eyes. He used to be more outgoing and interactive, now that he's up in age, he prefers that humans come to him for petting, instead of heading to them himself. He's been at the academy since he was a kitten, and this is the barn he sleeps in and is fed in, causing him to hang out around it most all the time. Occasionally he'll head out to check things out elsewhere. He's king of the roost, though, for sure, demanding he gets what he wants! [ free to use ]

Western Barn
Overseer
{Wyatt Lynn} Male | 36 He is a handsome cowboy type fellow, mostly uninterested in the student's riding, only caring that the horses are taken care of. He never did 'professional' or 'competitive' riding, only ever working as a ranch overseer, riding horses to herd cattle and the like. He has golden brown-blonde hair that is kept short, with a stubble beard most of the time, wearing cowboy boots and hat along with jeans, chaps, and spurs regularly. He doesn't ride much anymore, but is trying to get closer to the kids to do his job better. He is seen as 'cool' by most students, but is very stern and demands respect, giving it in return only. He came to the academy a year ago, after being a ranch overseer most his life, when the ranch burned down. Likes to tease and get on Violet's nerves, always with a friendly, playful smile. Typical cowboy! His dog is 'G' who sleeps in his quarters with him in the Western Barn. His horses are Cody and Cowgirl. [ Turtleshell ]
Staff
{Mason Carter} Male | 19 He has fair skin, and a shy, rare smile. His red hair is curly, often falling into his tired, muddy green eyes. The sides and back of his hair are short enough to be straight. He is 5'11”. He is very humble, quiet and ever the optimist through his battered spirit, always trying to find a reason to his being, which he has yet to find. Having grown up poor on a ranch, he has many skills with horses, but couldn't afford lessons. After they lost their ranch to financial issues, he tried out at 16, but was rejected due to his self-taught skills, deemed unprofessional. He had no choice but to drop high school junior year, making college seem impossible. He worked several jobs tirelessly to support his family. As soon as he was old enough, he applied to work in the barns, offering year round services and free work, just so he could board Maverick. He has proven himself an efficient worker. He works late hours studying books from the school in any free time he has, still dreaming of becoming a vet. He rarely gets to ride his horse, and longs to race the trails once more, and partake in rodeo. Dorm B2R1 [§ Nightingale § ]
Private Horses
{Cody} Wyatt Lynn Gelding | 9 | Quarter Horse He is a handsome, 16hh buckskin gelding whose charm comes from more than his good looks- he has a friendly attitude, is laid-back and all around the perfect horse. He's great with kids, but is excellent to ride competitively as well, enjoying being with humans but also out in the pasture kickin' up dust. Unfortunately, he has heaves, which is the equivalent of copd in horses, and it causes him to have a very hard time breathing if in extreme heat, or being worked too hard. Therefore, he gets a very relaxed life. Wyatt loves this gelding, bringing him with him from the ranch he used to work. Stall A1 [ Turtleshell ]
{Cowgirl} Wyatt Lynn Filly | 3 | Mustang She is Wyatt's new project, a mustang taken off the range less than a year ago so he can break her. She, like most mustangs, has an absolutely fiery personality, attitude like no other. She's stubborn as a mule, feels entitled to always get her way, and is snazzy. She'll wear tack, but so far has not accepted being ridden. She is gorgeous, a buckskin so light it appears white with the classic black points- that is, black legs, mane, tail- appearing like a 'white buckskin,' in truth. However, it is just a black horse with the buckskin gene that causes this appearance. Wyatt likes this horse, but they haven't connected. She just isn't his one true horse. Perhaps someone else is, though...or was she always meant to just be free? Stall A2 [ Turtleshell ]
{Tango} Claire Gordon Mare | 4 | American Paint Horse She is a tobiano patterned paint with a chestnut base color, and blue eyes. Tango is as sassy and strong-willed as her rider, Claire. She can be quite stubborn and finicky but isn’t afraid to get down and dirty. Her favorite thing is walking in creeks and playing in mud puddles but only if no one is watching. Used for reigning. Stall A3 [ *MorningGlory* ]
{Belle of the Ball (Belle)} Scarlette Hunter Mare | 10 | Arabian Belle is jet black with a trimmed, shiny coat and a side-swept black mane. She has four white socks and a straight white blaze along her nose. She has the typical dished Arabian face and powerful hind quarters. She has large, dark brown eyes. Belle is a relatively well trained horse. She is very determined and playful and once she gets going, it is very difficult for her to stop. She can be lazy and even ornery at times, however for the most part she is very obedient. Used for Competitive Trail Riding, Gymkhana, and Reigning by her owner, Scarlette. Stall A4 [ Ƈσяαℓ Mєямαι∂ ღ ]
{Sally Sail (Sally)} Ryan Lent Mare | 9 | Quarter/American Paint Cross This 16hh mare's sire was a Quarter Horse, and her dam an American Paint, so while she is registered as an American Paint, she is not registered as a Quarter Horse, because she is the classic chestnut and white skewbald horse with deep chocolate eyes. This horse has literally saved her owner, Ryan, many of times. She is the most fantastic creature out there, with a mind of her own, so smart...he would almost certainly be dead without her. For some reason, despite all the pain and trouble Ryan has put her through, by being so reckless she has had many injuries, she loves that boy with all her heart. While sweet, friendly, and outgoing with other people as well, Ryan is her one true person. Stall A5 [ Turtleshell ]
{Coming Round The Mountain (Mo)} Ryan Lent Gelding | 12 | Anglo-Arab This chestnut Anglo-Arab gelding stands 15.2hh, has three white socks on his front two and hind right legs, and a white stripe on his concave-shaped face, holding more to the Arabian features. He is Ryan's Reining horse, his Secondary Discipline, but Ryan freely lets any other Reining student ride him so that he can be used more often and shown regularly, as he kills in the show ring! Stall A6 [ free to use ]
{Maverick} Mason Carter Gelding | 6 | Lusitano He is definitely no prized riding horse, but is familiar with several skills. He stands 18hh, a pure powerhouse of rippling muscle and tendon, a real working horse. He is bonded to the bone to his owner, Mason, having been raised by him from the age of a colt. He's peppy and has a bit of an attitude, but is always ready to get down to serious business. He is a truly stunning horse, a silvery, very light bay roan. He has oddly black colored ears and a stripe down his face. Maverick will work for whoever rides him, but is rather indifferent to the riders. Mason allows Maverick to be used by other riders, as he is trying to earn his keep and more. Belonging to a multi talented breed, he is familiar with, endurance racing, stock and rodeo, and will sometimes even jump, in full western get-up. He shows strong distaste to constantly being in a stall, always galloping wildly when in the pastures, longing to run as he used to. He is very intelligent, able to pick up on the subtlest of cues. Stall A7 [ § Nightingale § ]
{Arwen (Wenny)} Matthew Christensen Mare | 4 | Mustang She is a bay mustang, standing at 15.2hh, her brown eyes warm. She has a white star on her forehead that is usually hidden by her forelock. She is a gentle mare, but she does have a fiery attitude when she doesn't want to do something. She is normally nice to everyone, but if you do something bad to her, she instantly hates you and will hate you for the rest of her life, or there are those few people that she just doesn't like at first sight. Used for Reigning, Competitive Trail Riding, and Barrel Racing. Her owner is Matthew, known by Theo. Stall A8 [ ツ5 รєς๏ภ๔ร ๏Ŧ รย๓๓єгツ ]
{Soaring Skies (Sky)} Saige Donovan Mare | 15 | Quarter Horse Sky is a 15.2 hh palomino quarter horse mare with two white socks on the front and a blaze on her face. She has two deep brown eyes and a pale mane and tail. She is built from years of training, and her mane is slightly longer than it's supposed to be. Sky has a kind disposition, mostly from the nurturing of her rider and owners. She loves treats, and can be a little spoiled. But she works hard to earn them, running patterns that she has memorized and trying her best to work with what her rider wants. She is known to nip and playfully tug hair as a sign of affection, but she can get annoyed if she doesn't get out to exercise and socialize like other horses. She has training in reining, mostly, but she has been used for pleasure and trick riding as well. She is a good all around Western horse. Stall A9 [ ✫sιℓvεяяσsε28✫ ]

{Lonni} Gelding | 16 | Quarter Horse He is a laid-back bright bay Quarter Horse that is very chill and relaxed most of the time- one of the hardest things with him is to get him moving at a decent speed, as he is lazy! He has a white star, and stands at 15hh. Recommended to use spurs with him to get him going, he is mostly used for trail riding, particularly Competitive Trail Riding, though just for fun as well, and sometimes for Western Pleasure and Reining. Stall B1 [ free to use ]
{Morgan} Mare | 19 | Morgan Horse This Morgan named 'Morgan' never picked up well in the Saddle Seat ring, but put her in a Western Pleasure show? She reins supreme. Therefore, she was moved to doing this instead, taking to western quite well. She is liver chestnut, and is stands 15hh, and while she can perform the breed's signature gaits, she doesn't do them all that well, rarely practicing them. She's a sweet girl that likes to take things slow. Stall B2 [ free to use ]

{'G'} Wyatt Lynn Female | 7 | Border Collie This sweet, good-natured black and white dog is known simply by the name of 'G.' This is because her owner, Wyatt (prior to coming to the academy just a year ago) thought this was a boy before he got a good look at her, and had named her Growler. This is because she was a stray that wandered onto the ranch he managed, fur tangled and thick. Once it was shaved off, her true identity was revealed. Now, she goes everywhere with him, and the two are inseparable, sleeping in Wyatt's quarters with him. She is super friendly to the Students, loving to be pet and to chase a frisbee, but she is also an amazing work dog, helping Wyatt out with chores like rounding up the horses. Head Mistress Violet only tolerates this because she knows Wyatt is a great addition to the academy. [ free to use ]
{Jackson} Mason Carter Male | 2 | Australian Shepherd His eyes are heterochromia iridis, with his eyes being blue and brown marbled, with pale red patches fur over them. His coat is long and thick, making him look very fluffy. Blue merle colors his fur from his shoulders back. Pale red coats patches over his eyes and jaw. Blue merle covers the rest of his head, except for the white blaze marking up his nose. He is pure white on his muzzle, with a black nose. Everything except his head, and shoulders back is white. One of his ears stick up, the other flopping down. He always seems to have a goofy grin on his muzzle. He's very playful, and seems to understand human emotions to a tee. He was given to the ranch by a neighboring farm as a puppy, and has followed Mason around since. Stays in the Western Barn at night, usually sleeping with Wyatt and 'G' in his quarters, as Wyatt doesn't like to leave 'em out. [ § Nightingale § ]

{Zeus} Liam Summers Stallion | 7 | Mustang He is a solid gray Mustang stallion standing 15hh, is strong-willed, stubborn, and what one would call a ‘lady’s man’. He’s ambitious and sometimes rude to other horses. Used to practice bronc riding by his owner, Liam. Stall A1 [ *MorningGlory* ]
{Nikki} Nick Storme Mare | 14 | Mixed Breed This mixed breed horse stands at 15.1hh, is a piebald tobiano, and probably has some American Paint, Appaloosa, Quarter Horse, Thoroughbred, and some pony blood as well. She has an attitude, but is well suited for Nick; started out life hard, is working hard to do the best for Nick. Nick and Nikki are perfect for each other, and she has a friendly attitude, but is stubborn and likes to do her own thing often, too, not responding unless she wants to. Nick is probably going to let students use her to ride if he trusts them, as he doesn't have a lot of free time, and he can get paid for it. Stall A2 [ Turtleshell ]
{Follow Your Dreams (Dreamer)} Drake Martin Mare | 6 | Appaloosa Dreamer stands 15hh, she is a dappled gray blanket Appaloosa, is an excellent ranch horse and that's what she did before Drake hauled her off to the academy. She can be a bit snippy and isn't the kind of horse you could leave a kid with. She is used for stock, barrel racing, and Western pleasure. Stall A3 [ Blaze ]
{Caballero (Knight)} Anthony Gelding | 12 | Arabian He is a 17.2hh Arabian gelding, very tall for his breed, and he is solid black with a star and stripe on his face. He is a regular down-to-earth horse that has been with his owner since he was seven, so knows Anthony well. He is used primarily in Stock Rodeo events- particularly Roping, which his owner is best at, but may also be used for Barrel Racing sometimes. Stall A4 [ Longclaw511 ]

She is friendly and outgoing, especially with the youngest kids, and is fairly reliable, but if she doesn't want to do something, you'll have a hard time getting her to. {Rescue Ranger (Ranger)} Gelding | 10 | Quarter Pony This 14hh Quarter Pony is palomino with two front white stockings and a white star on his forehead. He is quite the bucker, when he gets overly excited, enjoying playing, running, and even jumping. He's tough to handle, requiring a firm hand and strong grip on the reins, but it built for polo, with his strong hindquarters he can turn on a dime. {Bonita} James White Mare | 6 | American Indian Horse Bonita is a lovely palomino American Indian Horse with white socks on all four feet, a white blaze, and a white splash on her left flank. She is rather short, standing at 14hh but she’s still quite the fast runner. Bonita is shy when it comes to being around others but when she’s racing, she’s bold and determined. Her absolute favorite thing is running. Used for Indian Relay Racing by her owner James. Stall A1 [ *MorningGlory* ]
{Dakota (Koda)} Tessah Soliani Mare | 8 | Thoroughbred Dakota is a real looker, every part the athlete. She is a bay horse, with four white socks, and blaze. Dakota is a hard worker, very cooperative and playful. She loves to do recreational riding, a pleasant break from training. She puts her all into everything, and is rather spoiled by her owner, Tess, when they aren’t working, but she doesn’t let it go to her head. She is used for practicing Thoroughbred Racing and also does Hunter/Jumper. Stall A2 [ § Nightingale § ]
{One Night Only (Night)} Ashton West Gelding | 4 | Thoroughbred Night is a fairly standard looking black Thoroughbred, 16hh, He has a single white sock on his front left leg and a white blaze down his face. Night is a laid back kind of horse, despite his young age. He adores Ash more than anything... except for maybe racing. Night is used for steeplechase, Thoroughbred racing, and stadium jumping. Stall A3 [ Blaze ]
{Apollo's Champion (Apollo)} Julian Aguilar Gelding | 15 | Thoroughbred A 16.2hh dark bay gelding with a star. He has dark brown eyes that typically seem to show boredom. He is a very impressive male, which is why Julian first chose him. Later on he started to display a playful wildness underneath the obedient act. Apollo rarely gets upset, but he has tried to kick Julian and a groom once or twice. He can be stubborn when he is forced to do something he does not like. He also seems to teach his rider a lesson whenever the boy tries to be a little too controlling, though it hasn’t happened in a couple years. He is made for running and jumping, which is why he is used in Thoroughbred Racing as well as Stadium Jumping Stall A4 [ ✫sιℓvεяяσsε28✫ ]

{Jemini} Mare | 10 | Quarter Horse Jemini is a black quarter horse with a white stripe, a long mane and beautiful eyes, 15hh. She is sweet and gentle, though it takes a bit to build up her trust. Stall B1 [ Silverwind ]
{Jailbird} Gelding | 7 | Thoroughbred This gelding Thoroughbred is black with three white socks, and a white cornet band on his hind-left leg, as well as a snip on his nose. He was a racing Thoroughbred that did well in smaller, claims and allowance races. When finally bought by the academy for the purpose of practice for students, as well as a few small races, he proved perfect for their needs, still racing some to this day, though he is getting to be a bit too old. Standing at 15.3hh, he is friendly, positive, willing to do almost anything to win appraisal and treats- he is well liked by most. He is a horse that does best in sprints. Stall B2 [ free to use ]
{Tiki Taki Tumba (Tiki)} Filly | 2 | Thoroughbred This beautiful bright bay filly is young, still in training and soon to compete in her first race. She has yet to pick everything up, and the good thing about her, is that she is a young horse, so the students can learn how to ride and train a young thoroughbred. Her barn name is 'tiki' and she is rambunctious, often causing trouble, and nibbling fingers of those that put their hands too close. She is bred to be a distance horse, to run a mile to a mile and a quarter, and the hope is that this will hold up in actuality. Stall B3 [ free to use ]

{Clyde} Stallion | 14 | Clydesdale This huge, 18hh bay Clydsedale stallion with white stockings on all four legs is the perfect example of his breed, with great amounts of feathering on his legs, and a big white blaze on his face. He, along with his full older brother, is used for Carriage Driving. He is pleasant, despite being a stallion, and is friendly and outgoing, great with the kids, though sometimes he can be scary due to his massive size. Pickles was abused by a group of people who beat him and sat on then even though they were too heavy. He was then sold to Grayson's uncle who has a family circus, with just horses and other livestock. Pickles preformed from the time he was 5 years old up until he was 8. His legs filled with Arthritis from his abuse. He was given to his grandma to be a carriage horse until he was 16 which he became a house pet for his grandma. A good-natured, all around friendly pony only occasionally used for trail-rides, fun and the like, due to her small size and not being a pricey show-horse. ( Trainers & Students) Head Mistress
{Violet Fort} Female | 48 A short, posture-perfect, head-up, nose-up kind of woman, she has long, straight black hair that is often kept tied up tight in a bun, and deep violet-blue tinted eyes. She always goes by the name 'Head Mistress Violet' and if anyone calls her anything else that she hasn't given express permission to do so, they're in for trouble. She is a very serious person, never allowing much 'fun,' perceiving only excellence and winning as 'fun.' When she is around the horses, however, her demeanor changes. She is a kid again, having the time of her life and loving every minute of it, especially her prized stallion, Rinne, who has only a soft spot for her. She doesn't ride much these days, so busy keeping up the academy, but used to show dressage at the highest levels. [ Turtleshell ]
Head Cook
{Kelly Blackstein} Female | 36 This sweet, kind woman loves the students and staff, spoiling them as much as she can. Her passion is to cook and whip up the best recipes around- school food here is far from bland and boring. She makes the best of the best in every regard. She has long blonde hair that she keeps tied up, and is far from an 'ugly lunch lady.' She's pretty, outgoing, interactive, and friendly, her bright blue eyes always sparkling with interest. She talks to students often, and can even be seen as a 'guidance counselor' or sorts. Perhaps this was Violet's intention when hiring her years ago? Dorm G2R11 [ Turtleshell ]

{Jamie Tolts} Male | 31 He is a rather strict, obsessed with his students being the best and always winning. He pushes everyone further and further, harder and harder. He has short ginger hair and is always dressed in the best equestrian clothes, top of the line. He was not born rich, and thus is always pushing scholarship kids harder, because he himself had to work for everything and all the success he got, becoming the best Hunter/Jumper rider and winning National Titles five times. His eyes are pale green, and don't show any of his emotions- he's very good at hiding them, if he has any at all, since people aren't so sure. He's hard to connect to and won't open up. But he wants nothing less than absolute success for his students, at least, the ones who work hard and deserve it. Has taught as the Head Trainer of Hunter/Jumpers for three years, this being his fourth. He is best at showing Hunter, but strives for all his students to master all divisions. {Flynn Cobaine} Male | 17 | 'Richie' A very lanky, tall, handsome fellow with gorgeous green eyes, and a mop of golden hair atop his head, he is the 'bad-boy' player type that is always hankering for trouble and fun, mischief in his eyes. He is flirty beyond belief, and has slept with a lot of the girls in school, having been in attendance since he was thirteen, due to the phenomenal wealth of his family, and his impeccable riding skills. He has a string of very expensive, top-of-the-line horses at school and off, and continuously brings in new and more pricey beasts. Despite his typical attitude, he actually is a good guy, loving the horses and caring greatly for people too. He just has a hard time showing it, mostly due to his family having little interest in him. He has yet to meet a girl he 'truly' cares about though, deep down. Has been at the Academy since he was 14, this being his fourth year. Secondary Discipline is Eventing. Elective Discipline is Barrel Racing. Also enjoys Bronc Riding, Trail Riding, swimming, and watching movies. Hates to read and has a hard time in academics, often needing to be tutored. His family has paid great money to keep him in despite these short-comings. He's rather short, only about 5'6". His long string of horses includes: Little Flyer, Zwarte Nacht, Elegant Stride, Schlachtruf, and Esprit Libre, though he has many more back at home. Dorm B1R2 [ Turtleshell ]
{Mickey (Mick) Sertain} Female | 17 | 'Scholarshiper' She is a shy girl who is using this opportunity of coming to the academy for the first time and being honored with a generous scholarship to try and come out of shell. She wants nothing more than to prove she is worthy of this free tuition- in addition to being able to bring her horse with her for free. She is well liked by most boys at the school, being very pretty, with long chocolate brown hair and baby blue eyes, a slender face with prominent cheekbones. She is about 5'3". This is her second year. Her only horse, one that she had to work hard to get here by deserving a scholarship for board, is Bogo. Secondary Discipline is Endurance Racing. Elective Discipline is Thoroughbred Racing. She also enjoys Trail Riding, Carriage Driving, reading and studying. She is terrified of water. Dorm G1R6 [ Turtleshell ]
{Summer Rose} Female | 17 | 'Richie' Summer is the type of girl who sticks out somewhat, despite not really wanting to. She's short, at only 5'4" tall. She has platinum blond hair that she keeps cut short, with her bangs just long enough to fall into her eyes, which are a light gray that look almost silver in the right kind of lighting. She has very pale skin, and she would almost look as if she had been carved out of ice, were it not for the bright pink dye that stains the bottom tips of her hair and streaks through some places, offering a splash of color that otherwise wouldn't be there. Summer is a quiet girl who tends to keep to her own devices. She isn't overly shy, but she won't go out of her way to make you feel as if she were your friend. She gives off a rather serious attitude, as she's studious and very focused. When she does speak, she has a rather quiet voice, though she won't hesitate to raise it if you're being annoying. Being the daughter of a rather famous and well-known hunter/jumper, teachers seem to expect her to do better than most other students in her discipline, and while she's pretty good, she hates when people seem to not be impressed; everyone just seems to expect her to be great. Her mother's a very accomplished and well-known former Hunter/Jumper, now an academic teacher at the academy. They have an excellent relationship, though Summer hates being compared to her. This is her third year. Secondary Discipline is Haute Ecole. Elective Discipline is Thoroughbred Racing. Also enjoys reading, baking, and her academic classes, in which she does very well. Her mother calls her Petal, but she honestly doesn't like others calling her that. Dorm G1R2 [ 𝒮𝓊𝓂𝓂𝑒𝓇 𝑅𝑜𝓈𝑒 ]
{Lachlan Stone} Male | 17 | 'Richie' Lachlan is tall, standing at 6’1”. He isn’t noticeably muscular, but looks can be deceiving. He normally sports a twisted, cocky smirk, accompanied by a grey blue stare. His hair is black, medium length, coming down to just above the nape of his neck, and not styled in any particular way. Diagonally on the right side of his neck, he has a long, jagged scar. He has two helix piercings on his upper right ear, and an industrial on his left. Lachlan is a wild card. He’s reckless and unpredictable, suffers bipolar, prone to do things that could seriously injure him. Anyone who can match his carelessness has the slightest degree of his respect. He has a very cynical outlook on life. He's very bitter about the things in his past that he has not come to terms with. He's a very shady character over all, and could obviously benefit by having someone to trust. Nothing of his past or family is known to others, despite being boarded since 13. His skill set is vast, and daunting to competition. He excels at this primary discipline. His secondary discipline is Endurance Racing. His elective discipline is Haute Ecole. His boarded horse is Buckshot. Dorm B1R5 [ § Nightingale § ]

{Rachel Locke} Female | 17 | 'Richie' She is an absolute bully, the most popular girl at the whole school- the cheerleader type, who must always have perfect hair, the best, newest equestrian clothes that are in style, the top-of-the-line horses. She is a brat, and pure mean to most others, even those that are her followers and known as 'friends' aren't really. Despite her attitude and rude behavior at the academy, she is kept for two reasons: she has all the money in the world, her father showering the place and his daughter with any gift she could ever want, since he has been lost since her mother died. He feels alone, and she does in a way, too, hiding it from everyone else, including herself. She is also an absolutely phenomenal eventer, especially with the very best horses. She has long, straight platinum blonde hair and is tall, about 5'9", with shining green eyes. She has been at the Academy every year, from age 13, so this is her fifth year; it's the best way for her father to push her off as someone else's problem, and be a horrible parent since her mother died, just buying her everything to get her out of his hair. Secondary Discipline is Haute Ecole. Elective Discipline is Saddle Seat. Also enjoys dancing, singing, and swimming. {Liliana (Lily) Everwood} Female | 16 | 'Scholarshiper' Lily has long flowing silver blonde hair that frames her face and light blue eyes. She has a narrow jaw line with high cheek bones. She is around 5'1" and weighs around 100lbs. Lily is very shy and tends to star to herself, spending her free times with the horses. Once Lily gets to know someone you begin to see past the shy girl who tried to avoid conflict. You find a sweet girl who loves not just horses, but a girl who loves to draw and paint. You see a girl who loves spending time with her friends and having fun. Lily comes from a poor family background, her family wasn't poor by any means. They just didn't treat her very well. When she found out about the academy she did everything she could to be able to get her scholarship to the academy. She also participates in Quarter Racing, with Side Saddle as her Elective Discipline. Her favorite horse is Jemini. Dorm G1R5 [ Silverwind ]
{Christopher (Chris) Clayton} Male | 17 | 'Scholarshiper' Chris is an average height of 5’8”, with chiseled features. His dirty blonde hair is styled into an ivy league haircut, complimenting his hazel eyes. He's very helpful, and devoted to riding and caring for any horse, his own or not. He has a good heart, and can be friendly to a fault, and doesn’t mind being trampled over by the richies, making him a doormat. He is very trusting, and gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, because what would he know about their life? His family and background are nothing out of the normal, just a young man from a working class family, hoping to find his place in the world. He has attended the academy since he was 15. His secondary discipline is stock. His elective discipline is thoroughbred racing. He can often be found in social situations and sports activity areas, or hanging out with his horse, Napoleon. When allowed, he usually wears a yellow beanie or at the very least, he tries to keep it on his person in a pocket for good luck. Jace is, as mentioned before, awkward. He doesn't have a lot of friends and typically trips over his words... a lot. About the only things he can do right are ride horses and play the guitar and those are about the only times that he doesn't have trouble talking to people. {Rowan Thomas} Female | 17 | 'Richie' She has slightly tan skin, only a few freckles across her nose and cheeks. She has straight, dark brown hair that stops halfway down her back and sometimes falls in front of her pale green eyes. Rowan is 5’7 and she finds it a little annoying. She likes designer clothes, but she mostly wears a mix of them and normal, everyday clothing. She feels better when she has a t-shirt and jeans, since it was better for working with her horse. Her ears are pierced twice on both ears, but she doesn't draw attention with gaudy jewelry. She is very compassionate and sweet. But she also has a short temper and can be known to lash out with sarcasm and a sharp tongue when someone gets on her nerves. She has a soft spot for the horses and can be quite gentle when it concerns the creatures. As the only daughter of a pair of business owners, she has spent her life in wealth and luxury. Despite the fact she could have whatever she wanted, Rowan opts for small things like a couple books or some small jars of paint. She grew up always trying to be the best to impress her parents, hoping it would shift their attention from constant work to family. She has attended the academy since she was 13, her parents demanding that she go to the prestigious school. Secondary Discipline is Eventing. Elective Discipline is Hunter/Jumper. She likes to help others and loves animals, but her favorite hobby is writing. She loves using her imagination to create stories that are as good as the books she reads. She's down to earth, good-natured, though competitive and a very hard worker, always wanting to succeed to win, to do beyond her very best. She's somewhat uptight when it comes to her attire and gear, always making sure things are spick and span- many call her OCD- but she just knows that presentation is everything. She has long black hair that is always, absolutely always tied up in a very tight ponytail or even a bun, not a fray out of place. Her green eyes are small, and always alert. She is british, with the typical accent. Her mother is her only family left, and she has thrown herself into her work of modeling, leaving Abigail with no one after her father, who she was very close to, died in a suspicious car accident. Abigail is very pretty, and sometimes does stupid things, not because she's trying to fit in or make anyone else happy, but because she has grown up in that world- her mother playing the ditzy blonde, typical party-girl type- and has a hard time learning otherwise. She's had several 'flings' or simple 'nights' with other boys, Flynn one of the guys she returns to when she is upset or simply out of control. They're an addiction to one another, and a very bad one at that, as they aren't good for one another except as friends, which they do very well when everything else doesn't get in the way. This is her fourth year at the academy. Her Secondary Discipline is Hunter/Jumper, and her Elective Discipline is Vaulting. She has a string of horses, and she loves them all, despite her trying to hide it and act like they're only 'essentials' to the sport. She, for some reason, wants to put off this professional vibe, and believes that getting attached to anyone, loving anyone- family and horses- is unprofessional. Perhaps because she has been hurt so badly...She has been abused by her mother's boyfriends when she returns home, and is almost absolutely broken. Only those that really get close to her can see it. Her horses are Lang Mork Stilig, Dark Rhode Home, and Home Sweet Home. Dorm G1R8 [ Turtleshell ]

{Gloria Matthews} Female | 17 | 'Richie' Tall, lanky, black haired girl with piercing green eyes. She has delicate, almost doll-like features under her alabaster skin. Gloria knows she’s pretty and uses that to get what she wants- especially when it comes to guys. She is haughty and ambitious to be the best. She’s the only daughter of a French ambassador. Fluent in four languages (English, French, German, and Dutch) and when she gets angry or embarrassed she gets her languages confused and will talk in all four at the same time. Secondary Discipline is Barrel Racing. Elective Discipline is Competitive Trail Riding. Also enjoys swimming and ballet. Horse is All That Jazz. Dorm G1R4 [ *MorningGlory* ]
{Julian Aguilar} Male | 17 | 'Richie' He is about 5’10 in height currently. He has short black hair that falls just over his eyes. He sometimes uses a little bit of gel to make it slightly spiky. He has tan skin year-round and deep chocolate brown eyes. A scar runs through his brow and stops just above his cheekbone. He has a dimple in his right cheek. He usually wears something slightly stylish, as his father always made him. He has a thin black leather bracelet with a plaque that has his mother's name and his little sister's name to remember them. He is rude and slightly arrogant and brags about how privileged he is in life. Most of the time, it's an act. He isn’t too serious when it comes to relationships with others. What he lacks in social skills, he makes up for in bravery and determination. He stands up for what he believes in and does his best to succeed. But his short temper often gets the best of him. His parents split, so he lives with his father and rarely sees his mother. He mostly remains independent, as his father would otherwise push him into pursuing things Julian doesn’t want. He joined the Academy at the age of 15, as he had problems that slowed his transfer. Secondary Discipline is Thoroughbred Racing. Elective Discipline is Dressage. While he isn’t open about it, he does like to draw and sketch. He prefers quiet places and taking short rides with Apollo, his favorite horse and true friend. His horse, Apollo's Champion, is mostly used for Thoroughbred Racing, but he also uses him to practice Stadium Jumping. Dorm B1R7 [ ✫sιℓvεяяσsε28✫ ]
{Ashton Kloepfer} Female | 17 | 'Richie' She is tall for a girl, standing at 5'11 with long, straight blonde hair. She has bright blue eyes and a bright smile that shows off her dimples. She is tan and fit due to the amount of time she spends outside doing various activities. She has glasses, but she normally wears contacts as she thinks her glasses make her look like a nerd. She normally wears black skinny jeans with a random t-shirt she finds in her room. Sometimes it's a band tee or a movie t-shirt, and other times it's a regular t-shirt with some cheesy saying. She wears colorful Converse and normally has her hair up in a ponytail, and she always has a hoodie with her. She is quite cheerful and nice, always lending a helping hand with whatever she can whenever she can. She can be social, but she can also be quite shy. She doesn't know too many people, and she counts most of them as friends. She can be very tolerant of people, but some people she just dislikes and snaps at them constantly. She has a bad side that should not ever be seen, but sometimes it shows itself in bits and pieces. It's never seen fully, though. She has a brother, but he has no interest in horses. She's been at the academy for 3 years. Secondary Discipline is Eventing. Elective Discipline is Western Pleasure. Also enjoys playing sports(or being active in general), reading, writing, drawing, and socializing, and she dislikes bullies, golf, coffee, and snobby people. Dorm G1R8 [ ★♫ ʍµȿɨȼ ɲƹřȡ ♫★ ]

Easton is a kind hearted guy who is very respectful to everybody around him. He can sometimes be a coward to people who are bigger than him. He has little to no attraction to girls and is mostly attracted to guys. Easton's father is very rich and doesn't like spending time with his son, was cast aside by his father when he came out to his family. His father shows little attention to his son as a result. Has been at the Academy for 3 years. Easton was given his horse as a gift from his grandma who felt bad about his dad's actions toward him. She gave him a trained six year old Holsteiner gelding. Even though he has this care-free attitude he often talks to the scholarshipers but doesn't even want to be caught dead with them. He is Best friends with Easton only because they are both rich. Grayson's mom and dad were filthy rich because of an inheritance His Father received. His dad ended up getting it tripled by investing it. But his mom and dad died in a car accident when a semi plowed their jaguar. After the death of his parents, he was passed to his grandparents who were also filthy rich. He wears makeup, though very little, which includes black eyeshadow and black-painted fingernails. Sterling's typical attire consists of a cloak that covers much of his face, when he isn't in usual riding attire. And he always has a tie arranged in a loose bow. Ster is rather quiet, reserved, and highly eccentric. He usually has his head tilted down to show his dislike in things. He also showcases dissatisfaction at almost everything, even if he is enjoying himself. Ster is from a rich family and they are very snobby, so they sent him here so he can get the best education he can. He has attended the Academy ever since he was 15, so he is still fairly new to how things work. But because of this, he is always willing to try to make new friends, if he can. He tries his best to not act like an idiot in front of new people, but it fails since he's not the best at conversation starters. Secondary Discipline is Barrel Racing. He normally wears ripped up black or blue jeans with a band shirt. The band shirts he normally wears have holes in them or are tanks. It depends on the weather, really, if he wears t-shirts or not. He also wears black jackets or a band hoodie paired up with black Vans or Converse. He is observant and is not one to quickly judge. He is more into rock bands from the 80s to modern rock bands. He only has a few close friends that he will confide in, but he has a lot of people he knows that he calls acquaintances. He is quiet and antisocial to anyone who doesn’t know him, but people who know him and are friends with him know that Theo is laid back and can definitely cut-up like a rebel sometimes. Saige is very sweet to people and animals alike, so long as they are nice in return. She is easily intimidated by others, which does nothing to help her shyness. Her family grew up in a small town and she is the youngest of three, which she would say is a nightmare. She was recently accepted to the academy, and it will be her first year. She is tall, standing around 5'11" with sleek cheekbones and a small nose. She is the opposite of her name-sake; she likes trouble, finding and causing it often, but is phenomenal at what she does; training horses and riders to win every trail competition they enter, and only the very best of them. She's wild, enjoying a good adventure, and seeking it out, and obviously cares greatly for the horses and students in her care. She treats them each as though they're precious, but she won't take bullcrud from her richie students, demanding they all respect one another, which leads this discipline group to be one of the few that behaves, and they work together really well as a team and act like a family, almost. Though there's always animosity. She tries to break the foundation it exists on, though. She's far from the typical trainer you would expect, but students tend to love her. This is her third year. Weighing in at about 110 pounds to go along with her height, she doesn't appear to pose much of a threat. Scarlette tends to be quite outgoing and friendly, making it easy for her to draw people to her. She is quite intelligent and has a strong love of animals. When it comes to her friends, there is an endless supply of loyalty. She would never betray any of her friends. Her endless display of happiness, however, covers a much darker side. He has many problems psychologically, not sure how to trust or even deal with people, scarred deeply and breezing through life as if he just doesn't care. Over the summer, he tried to kill himself. Yet, here he is, back to the way things were before. Can someone save him before it's too late? He's an adrenaline junkie, doing stupid and crazy things that border suicidal, even putting his horses in danger, though he does in actuality care for them both deeply, especially his mare Sally Sails (Sally) but also his gelding Coming Round The Mountain (Mo), as they seem like the only life-forms who actually care for him.
