Headrts nodded and settled herself beside him, but closer to two-leg place. She took a bite of her mouse and chewed thoughtfully, enjoying the taste. She then looked at the two-leg place and perked her ears before flicking her tail and turning back toward her mouse and taking another bite. She sifted closer to Thrush, scared of leaving and going back to her housefolk.

Thrush enjoyed the feeling of her soft fur meshing with his own as she settled beside him to eat. He had the nagging feeling that something was off, but couldn't figure out how to help Hearts as she wasn't being honest with him about what was bothering her. He figured she probably just missed her house-folk - that was the term, right? - and wanted to be with them again. The tom motioned past the fence he could see and to the stone-and-wooden, strangely square dens the two-legs called their own. "So, where do your two-legs live?" he asked her curiously.

Hearts looked at him and thrn back tward two-leg place. She motioned toward a red and white den that was right in the edge forest. "I live in that one."

Thrush regarded the red-and-white house with a bit of inward disgust, but kept it to himself. He didn't understand why she'd want to return to a place where she wasn't free to roam and do as she pleased, when she pleased. Either way, he knew their time spent together was coming to an end. "I'll walk you home - is that alright? I'd sleep better knowing you made it to the den safely," he told her gently as the two finished up their prey.

Lightning sighed and began to groom her pelt. She knew she was avoiding leaving, kind of afraid that Ross would tell her to leave soon anyway. She looked around, wondering where she was going to go. She got excited for a moment when she thought of the adventures she could go on. "So... where will you be heading after you've, uh.... left?" Ross had to choke out the words, sounding a bit hoarse and feeling his stutter beginning to resurface. He hated thinking about Lightning leaving, but the little voice in his head screamed You're a lone cat, you travel alone! That's part of your life and it always was, so why are you lingering? Just leave her already. For a moment he realized it was true, but something prevented him from truly knowing it. ( Maybe when Lightning looks for Ross again after they part and he isn't there, they come back together when he finds her trying to fight off a fox or something? )

Christopher quickly picked up mud by the scruff and ran to find thunder. A muffled meow came from him "thunder?!" Thunder was staring at diamond is confusion before padding to her "whyou is your tummy buldging?" She asked innocently (Please add descriptions for the kits!!!) Diamond looked at the kit in shock, not having known he was there. She purred when she saw him, not knowing his dad was close by. "My tummy is big because I'm going to have kits soon. They kick sometimes, do you want to feel?" She looked at the kit lovingly. Christopher scented the air and followed the smell putting mud down on the ground "mud stay with me okay?" Mud mewed in response "okay!!" Following him he walked into the clearing Christopher walked over to thunder "may I ask who you are miss?" He asked gently with a light protect gleam in his eyes

She got up and licked Ross's ear, her pelt warming as soon as she did it. She met his gaze before murmuring a goodbye and padding into the thicker bush. She looked ahead, she was angry with herself why she cared so much abut staying.

"Yeah, that's fine." Hearts stood up and stretched out her front legs. Her pale gray fur looking sulver and fluffy in the sunlight, the heart on her chest showing brightly against the other colors. Her bright green eyes shone was happiness and a deeper emotion as she looked at Thrush and smiled. She then turned and started to pad in the direction of the den.

The dark gray tabby tom felt something inside of him prickle with warmth and excitement as he grinned back at Hearts, his mood growing lighter now at the prospect of getting to spend a little more time with her. He walked shoulder-to-shoulder with the she-cat, his nose filling with unfamiliar and almost dangerous smells that reminded him of why he rarely ventured into the two-leg place. His pelt prickled uncomfortably as he walked along the unnaturally smooth stone-like ground and gazed up in awe at the kitty-pets he passed who lounged lazily in the morning sunlight.
He wished Hearts would stay with him in the woods - he enjoyed the unlikely friendship that had formed between them - but maybe they could be more than that? He knew he could never settle here with her - she would have to join him if they wanted to become something more. But, he supposed, it won't hurt me to visit here every once in a while - if only to see her. Her beauty, her kindness, her awe for the life he led in the forest, her intriguing past - she was a beautiful sea that he wanted to dive right in to.
He paused as the reached the red-and-white house she'd pointed out earlier. "Well, I guess this is it, yeah?" he murmured quietly, entwining his tail with hers. Thrush was not ready to let her slip away from him just yet.

He added, not knowing exactly what to say and slowly letting his pelt brush hers for a few seconds as she left but on the other hand knowing exactly that he would never see her again ever. What if Lightning really wanted to leave and he was just being pushy? Thoughts raced through his head but in the end he knew that maybe this was for the best, like that little voice in his head told him. With a little sigh, he settled down with his head under his paws.

Hearts' chest was bursting with warmth as he twined his tail with hers. She wanted to stay with him in the forest and be there with him forever. She was actually scared of leaving him as well. There was one other cat living with her here but he had gotten beaten and thrown out for staying away for a couple days. She hoped the same wouldn't happen to her since she had only been out one night, but she still had that nagging feeling that something was going to go wrong and it caused her pelt to prickle. She sighed and untwined her tail from Thrush's own and then looked into his eyes. After a few moments she touched his nose with hers, giggled at the weird feeling of it, and then turned and jumped onto the fence in one jump. She looked back at Tgrush for a second before jumping down onto the coarse grass and lottered yard on the other side. As soon as she landed she regretted it... her two-leg, a tall woman with short spiky brown hair came bowling out the door and right toward her. She screamed at her and then kicked her steaight in the side, which cause her to hit the fence behind her with a thud.

Thrush let out a rumbling purr as their eyes meet, making him shiver at the intensity of their gaze upon one another. He wanted to remember this moment - the way her eyes shone bravely, the glow of the sunlight reflecting purely in them. As he bent to touch her nose, he felt himself with with warmth which quickly melted as she leaped over the fence and left him standing alone. The sound of her laughter in his ears consoled him as he took the first few steps away from her den, but his hair stood on end when he heard the sound of the two-leg come after Hearts.
Panicked, he raced and took a flying leap over the fencing, skidding to the ground and almost bowling in Hearts, who he sensed was in pain. The two-leg - oh, StarClan, why did she trust two-legs in the first place? - made a horrible screech as she spotted him. With a snarl, the large gray tabby stood over Hearts and waited for her to get up and move. "Take a breath and then head for the woods - I'll follow you, okay!?" he cried as he whirled around to face the she-cat, his dark green eyes blazing.

Hearts took a few breaths in, feeling her ribs protest in agony. She tried to stand but she was sure one the ribs on her left side were broken and it was harder than normal. She finally managed to crawl to her feet and made her way to the right to a hole in the fence that was just big enough for her to squeeze through. She had used it as a kit when she couldn't jump onto the fence and was now happy she had hidden it from her two-leg. Pulling the grasses away from in front of it she took a deep breath and pushed her way through, the two-leg advancing on her after having seen her trying to leave. She tried to move faster but it was a tight fit and her ribs were screaming in agony, and she was gritting her teeth to suppress her yowl of agony. The two-leg was right behind her and Was reaching down for Hearts now. She tightened herself up, ready to feel the two-leg grab her and pull her out before throwing her into something else.

Thrush could see the agony Hearts was in; he could only get her so far by just distracting the two-leg. With a yowl of anger, he closed the distance between the two-leg's hand and Hearts and bit down on the creature's outstretched hand, feeling the hot, salty tang of blood wash over his tongue. As soon as he released his grip on the two-leg who yowled again in horror, he reeled towards Hearts and let her lean on his shoulder. "You're okay," he soothed, "I've got you. Lean on me and we'll get out of here, okay? Just a little bit farther," he urged, fear bubbling up in him as he noticed the broken ribs beneath her pale gray fur. He could see the forest ahead, the tang of two-leg far behind. "Why would it do that to you, Hearts?" he questioned angrily, his mind whirling. She hadn't done anything wrong - she was coming home to them, for StarClan's sake!

Hearts got through finally and let out a relieved sigh before gladly leaning on Thrush but then she stood back up on her own and started to go toward the wood line. When she reached the edge she didn't stop, she kept going till she couldn't smell two-leg before collapsing onto her side in the roots of a large oak and waited for Thrush to catch up.

Thrush bounded over to her, sniffing her pelt for injuries. He gently nosed the fur around her ribcage and felt his stomach drop. "I think you've broken a rib, love," he said, and then paused suddenly when he realized what he had said. The word rolled off his tongue as if it was meant to be there - how could he argue with what his subconscious said? Did he really consider Hearts his love? He supposed he did - he had just saved her, after all. He shook his head to clear his whirling mind, trying to calm his heaving chest as he settled gently beside her. "Sorry - it's just - I'm glad you're alive," he told her, the words spilling from his jaws in a rush.

Hearts looked at him startled and them shook her head to clear her thoughts. She sniggled into him when he settled beside her and she purred, twining her tail with his. "It's fine... i like that nickname. And I'm glad your alright as well." She then winced from the pain in her side and chuckled. I giess I did break a rib." She then cursed under breath. "I was scared to go back cause that happened to my brother and they beat him then threw him out. I thought it owild be alright since I was only gone for one night but I guess I was wrong." She laughed again, she had that habit. She was always giggly.

Thrush glowed with warmth at hearing her approve of the little nickname - it was a happy accident, and he was grateful for it. But his mind grew angry again at the mention of the two-leg hurting her; he didn't like to see her in pain, upset. He was drawn out of his thoughts by the feeling of his claws digging in and out of the dirt, signaling he needed to deal with the frustration. But he did perk up a little at the sound of her laugh; it was sweet, it was pure. The tabby loved to hear Hearts laugh, especially when it helped to soothe him. "Why did the two-legs do that to you?" he asked her gently. "It confuses me - why would they hurt you?"

"Of course you do," Thrush agreed, giving her ear an affectionate lick. "I'll take care of you - I promise. You can stay with me in my den and we can live here together. That's what you want, right?" The tom's heart swelled and nervousness coursed through him. He knew she'd probably agree, but the nagging doubt still clung to him.

Lightning jumped onto a large rock after she traveled for a little while. She sighed and sat down, watching a small river flow by. She was still sad but she didn't know why. "He's just a cat that I met last night!" She growled to herself under her breath. She perked her ears when she suddenly scented rabbit in the moors across from her. She jumped down, her paws tingled with excitement as she walked into the moor. The scentire got stronger. Finally something to eat! She purred to herself. She heard rustling in the heather so she crouched a little, ready to spring after it. She took a huge leap and felt her paws barely touch the rabbit. "Not this time!" She murmured to herself as she took off after it. She took three strides after it and them pounced once more, this time landing cleanly on its back, instantly breaking it's neck. She purred to herself and settled down to eat. The rabbit was nice and big, probably why it was slow. It didn't take to long for her to finish it and when she was done she licked her muzzle. She felt a little better now after eating, but sadness was still in her and she was still puzzled why.

Ross gritted his teeth as he suddenly felt some sort of imaginary hollow pit open up in his stomach. Looking around at the familiar surroundings around him, he tried to make himself feel more at home and comfortable. It was his territory, after all! Everything just looked a bit more.. Droopy. This couldn't be because of that awfully pretty she-cat he met only last night, could it? She was just an acquaintance and nothing more, and he probably would never see her again. "Stupid me.." The tom grumbled before deciding that maybe it was good to explore. Taking a look back, he got up and padded away to check out the rest of the forest that he had seldom seen in his life. New things for a new day, he said.

Lightning sighed as she placed her head on her paws to rest. Maybe she would feel better after a nap? Maybe her brain wasn't working right becuase she was tired. She yawned and cured up into a tight ball before closing her eyes to sleep. Suddenly an odd scent drifted through her nose. She shot up and unsheathed her claws. "What now." She sighed to herself. A wavery of fear went through her when she the scent grew stronger. She spun around but it was to late, the fox was already on her, snaring. She yelped when it bit her shoulder, it had her pinned and she couldn't move now. She hissed at it and pinned her ears, she needed to do something before it was to late. She tried to think of what she could do.

Ross had drifted off to sleep for a moment, but immediately opened his eyes once a pungent scent hit him. What was that? Jumping to his paws and getting ready to defend his territory, he ran over to the source of the scent and crouched behind a bush. Surprisingly, his gaze drifted across a familiar black she-cat fighting a fox! A stinky, ugly, fox! Screwing up his face, he burst out of the bushes. "Hey." He mewed breathlessly before jumping onto the fox and trying to bowl it over.
