Thrush felt a pang of panic flood him as Hearts began to cry. Oh, StarClan, I've messed up, he scolded himself. Curling closer to her, her gave her ear a quick lick and met her watery gaze. "Hearts, what's wrong? Are you okay?" he asked her quietly. The large gray tabby pressed closer to her, hoping that his touch would soothe her. "You - you belonged to a Clan once, didn't you?" he murmured gently, trying to connect the dots, wishing he could understand what she was feeling so he could better console her.

Hearts nodded slightly and took in a ragged breath. "I just remembered it... my mom took me here to protect me but my father didn't want me... she was a clan cat. I'm half clan cat half kittypet. This is so weird and sad at the same time... ugh." She shifted closer to Thrush, enjoying his warmth by her side. After a little while she managed to calm down and then laid her head on her paws, still snuggling into Thrush with a few tears still in her eyes.

"Hey, it's okay," Thrush murmured gently to her. "you're good enough for me, just the way you are. I don't care who your parents were. That Clan was wrong to cast you out because of your heritage - you're too good for them, Hearts. You don't need to be around cats who aren't going to care for you just because your mom made a mistake. But you aren't a mistake - you're perfect," he told her, hoping his words would soothe her.

Hearts smiled at his words and curled into him more. Now her head was laying against his chest and her tail was twined with his. His fur felt so soft against hers and she felt herself slowly calming down until she found that she was actually dozing off.

Thrush curled himself protectively around the she-cat as she began to fall asleep, tucking his paws underneath himself as he lay next to Hearts, his body filled with unexpected warmth and comfort at her touch. Her sweet scent wreathed around him as he felt his eyes slowly fluttering shut. "Good night, Hearts," he breathed, as he felt the lull of sleep wash over him. (let's skip to morning now, yeah? thanks for waiting everybody )

( Sorry, I didn't mean to rush you guys earlier! )
Ross woke up, feeling Lightning's fur brush his as he slowly hauled himself up to his feet with a little grunt. Yawning and then stretching, he shook out his ruffled fur from sleep and gave the she-cat a little nudge. "Good morning, sleepy kit." He grumbled in her ear. Really, she was a heavy and long sleeper. More than him, that was for sure. His tone wasn't gruff, more tinged with amusement when he spoke. "Hello?" The tom yowled in her ear loudly.

Hearts opened her eyes slightly that morning, letting them get used to the sunlight before fulling opening them. When she did fully open then she found herself looking at Thrush's face. He looked like a tiny kitten sleeping there and she fiund her heart skip a beat as she noticed they were pressed against each ither with their tails twined. She didn't move though, she just laid there waitingg for him to wake up, wanting to make this moment last.
(Hearts has a little crush!!!!!! XD)

The large dark gray tabby awoke the next morning and was pleasantly surprised to see that Hearts had not left him in the night. As much as he enjoyed her company, he hadn't been sure she liked having him around as much as he appreciated her. He opened his eyes to discover the she-cat was lying awake beside him and let out a gentle purr when she met his dark green eyes. "Morning, Hearts," he told her, giving her ear an affectionate lick before shifting so their pelts were brushing once again. "Did you sleep alright, knowing I was here to protect you from that nasty fox?" he teased, hoping the playful banter would keep her by his side for as long as possible.

Hearts' green eyes shone playfully as batted his ear with her paw softly. "What you should say is you slept well knowing I was hear to protect you!" She giggled knowing she sounded weird but didn't care. She didn't want to move but knew they should get up and get something to eat, though she still stayed there, gazing into his eyes.
(When are you wanting them to end up together)

She teased and leaped onto him playfully. She felt the sun hit her back as she blinked, a warm feeling spreading through her.

(idk?? maybe Hearts goes home today but keeps coming back to visit and ends up with him that way?? what were you thinking)
Thrush let out a contented sigh as he held her gaze - her beautiful bright green gaze. He liked this - whatever this was - that was happening between the two of them. He wanted the rest of his days here in the woods to be like this; but she couldn't stay, could she? "This is nice, Hearts, but we should probably go hunt, eh?" he murmured as he let out a yawn and rose to his feet. "If we don't get moving soon we may end up sleeping the whole day away," he chuckled, shaking out his pelt as he took a few steps towards the exit of his den. But then, that wouldn't be so bad, would it? To spend my day with someone as kind and beautiful as Hearts? he thought.

Hearts got up after him and sighed what she thought was inwardly but was actually outwardly as she thought about having to go home today... she didn't really want to as she looked at him, finding herself wanting to stay out here with him.
(I thought he could go to take her home and her housefolk are mad that she stayed out all night and start yelling when she goes in then picks her up and throws her back outside which leads to her being really sad and he helps her?? Idk))

(ooh i like your idea - let's go for it)
Thrush heard the audible sigh and whipped around to face her, his mind spiking with worry. "Hey, what's wrong? Are you okay? I can just hunt for the both of us if you aren't feeling well," he assured her quickly. The tabby tom hoped he could solve whatever the problem was - he felt that he needed to, if nothing else. Hearts was in his care and he needed to do the best that he could to keep her happy - it made him upset to see her so.

Ross rolled his eyes with amusement, shaking her off and purring softly. He batted at her with a sheathed forepaw, slightly out of breath. "Good morning! I see you're quite awake now." The tom greeted her casually, shaking off his fur and smiling.

Hearts looked at Thrush startled and then smiled. "No, I'm fine, really." She then walked up and nudged his shoulder. "And you know I like hunting, well, you saw me hunt so you know I can hunt for myself." She then started padding toward two-leg place. "Come on, we can hunt on the way back." Her voice sounded happy but her eyes showed sadness and stress deep down."

Thrush perked up at her gentle smile, but he could tell something was bothering his companion. She seemed too... resigned to returning to the two-leg place. Catching up with her quickly, he padded shoulder-to-shoulder with her and entwined her tail with his once again. "You know," he told her, a purr rumbling in his throat, "you could just stay with me. Half of you is a Clan cat, after all. I know something's bothering you, you mouse-brain," he teased. "I'm not that clueless. What's wrong?"

The tom greeted her casually, shaking off his fur and smiling. Lightning mocked him and rolled her eyes back. "Thanks to you, stupid furball." She muttered, she wouldn't have minded sleeping for a little while longer but she knew she would need to leave soon. She felt her heart drop for a moment as she thought about leaving. What was she going to do now? Continue on with her journey and forget this happened? Is that possible? She sighed as she thought about it. What now? XD))

Ross felt a prick of fear. He wondered what would happen after this too, but had no idea. Could she just leave and let him remember her as an acquaintance? No idea. "Yeah, so... What next?" He finally let it out and felt like a weight was lifted off of his shoulders. A little thing in the back of his mind said "It doesn't matter" But the other part said "Stay".

Lightning looked at her paws. Why was this so hard to say! Get over it, i have only know him for less than two days! Just say it and leave! Lightning thought to herself, she closed her eyes for a moment before looking at the tom. "Want to hunt again?" She asked hopefully. It wasn't what she should have said but one last hunt before leaving wouldn't hurt would it? It would give her time to think of how she could leave. Lightning curled her tail around her paws, she could wait until the were sleeping to leave, it wouldn't be as painful... It shouldn't be painful, flea-brain! She scolded herself. How about, she leaves but somehow they see each other the next day by searching or she comes back and he isnt there but they find each other within the next little while? Up to you ))

Hearts didn't look at him this time. She just perked her ears and continued to look for signs of prey. After a few seconds she flicked her tail and scented a mouse. "Nothing's wrong, I promise." Then she got down into the crouch he and had taught her and sltalked tiward a small patch of large red ferns. After getting about one tail-length away, she flicked her tail, put her strength into her haunches, and pounced. She landed right on the mouse and killed it with one swift movement befire padding back to Thrush. "Your turn!" She mewed after setting it diwn so she could speak, trying to get him to think she was alright.

He agreed with a small tip of his head. This is so crazy... Why do I not want her to leave? She has to though. In a few moons I'll probably just forget all about her and- Exactly. It shouldn't be anything to worry over. He assured himself, knowing that in just a while Lightning would disappear from his mind. "I guess we should get going on our hunt?" The rogue mewed with a little inquisitive shrug, gesturing with a flick of his tail to the forest beyond. He could smell fresh air and prey around every corner, breathing in the wonderful scents for a moment.

Okay )) Lightning nodded and turned her gaze away before he could see the slight sadness in her eyes. She didn't want to leave but she had to. She would forget about him soon enough and then she will be fine. She shook her pelt and moved slowly toward the scent of a vole. She carefully crawled through some bracken and froze when she noticed the vole eating some pine-cone seeds. She made sure it couldn't scent her before she proceeded forward a few paw-steps. Lucky enough it had its back to her. Quickly, she shot toward it she felt the fur just brush her paw but she didn't make contact with it as she had tripped on a root of a large pine tree. She growled under her breath at her clumsy hunt. I will hunt later when im out of his territory. She thought to herself, although she shouldn't care that it was his territory.

"It's okay, you still did really well." Ross commented casually from behind her, peeking over the black she-cat's shoulder to peer at her. "It was a good try." He added in a comforting tone before gruffly padding away and sniffing the air. The thoughts of parting ways slowly drifted away, eventually subsiding as he focused solely on the hunt. This was important. He quickly caught the scent of a vole quite nearby and smiled to himself, keeping silent as he stalked the path he had mentally chosen that led right to the prey. Slowly brushing his paw on a clump of long grass to push it aside, he saw the small brown creature appearing to be resting. It was still very much awake and he clumsiky lashed out with a paw, scrabbling to hold on clumsily as the vole managed to wriggle out of his grasp. After a few painstaking tries and messy attempts at a kill he managed I finish it off. "Well.... That wasn't too bad, was it?" Ross asked Lightning as he padded back to her with the awfully bloodied and barely recognizable article in his jaws.

Lightning purred warmly when he came back with what appeared to be the vole. "Tricky thing." she murmured and licked his muzzle. She knew she would have to try again when she was out of his territory. Her heart sunk a little again when she thought of it. She shook her pelt and yawned. The sun warmed her pelt enough to make her tired again. She looked around for an more traces of prey, trying to keep her mind off of leaving for a little while longer but the fight with the vole seemed to scare everything off.

Ross sighed at his awfully messy, small catch that only consisted of a scrawny animal. "Well, I guess that scared off all the prey in the forest.." He muttered with slight annoyance after nudging the vole a few times and then reluctantly taking a few bites. Not many cats knew this, but he was an awfully picky eater. After his small meal was done, he began to groom himself and remove the bloodstains from his fur. Only then did he notice how bad that hunt was...

Lightning sighed and began to groom her pelt. She knew she was avoiding leaving, kind of afraid that Ross would tell her to leave soon anyway. She looked around, wondering where she was going to go. She got excited for a moment when she thought of the adventures she could go on.

Thrush decided that if Hearts wasn't going to tell him what was wrong, then he'd stop bugging her about it. He purred delightedly at her smooth catch and figured that hunting with her would be a better way to spend his time than mulling on whatever was decidedly not bothering her. He scented the air and quietly padded off in search of the squirrel he'd scented and chased after it as soon as it came into view. With a lash of his tail, he caught it in the roots of a tree it had just begun to climb up and trotted back to his companion with his catch in his jaws. "Let's eat, yeah?" he told the pretty she-cat around the mouthful of fresh-kill as he settled down in a patch of grass not too far away from where the two-leg place could be seen.
