Flower looked over to see her Tribe member in a crouch, and without hesitating sank to a crouch as well. Suspicious as to why they were suddenly hiding, she shot Ant a inquisitive glare.

Screech looked over at her and then gave a nod at her question. "Of course," he replied, before he gave a purr, "it's nice to be able to get out and see the territory every once and awhile. And it's a very nice day."

Ant simply pointed to the cat in the distance with his muzzle. As the cat seemed to come just a little closer, he noticed something a little familiar...

Rose sniffed around lightly, before she smiled as she caught a scent. Positioned by some stray stones and dry patches of desert plant, a single desert hare was picking around, focused on the stones and dry excuses of plant life. The cacti were much greener.
Even so, she waved her tail to Savage and positioned into a crouch, paws placed carefully. She began stalking towards it, her dark ginger coat luckily doing well to blend her in, like how Dawn could do in the lighter sands.

"That it is indeed." The russet she-cat agreed with a purr. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, taking in scents of all the lush plants and cool water of the nearby Lifepool.
Savage also dropped into a crouch, except he would not attempt to catch the rabbit. He had no capability to chase something that quick, and it was not his job. This was Rose's job, and he watched her intently.

Rose crept closer, keeping flat to the ground like the red dust and stones themselves. She waited until she got close enough before launching at the rock. Using it as cover, she leaped on top of it and quickly shot down towards the startled hare, slamming her paws into it and rolling with the prey before pinning it down and killing it with a bite.
She panted from the hard roll on the ground but quickly shook her fur and lifted the prey with proud calmness.

Savage stood up and padded over, waving his tail. "Nice catch." He congratulated, something strangely like a purr in his tone.

Flower squinted in the blinding sun, barely making out the figure Ant had gestured to. It appeared to be a cat, but that was the most she could make out. Her long distance vision was truly terrible.
Balsam was low to the ground, grateful the wind was in his favor, as he caught the sent of three cats before him. Staying as out of sight as possible (which was hard, considering there was nothing but sand and wind around them), he crept slowly away from their line of sight, but didn't look away from them.

Screech purred at her and then moved towards the Lifepool as well, looking over at it. Seeing the water, Screech grew thristy and then went the pools edge to where he looked at himself. He couldn't help but to playfully tap the water with his paw.

"Why, thank you! I'm rather proud of it as well." Rose purred as she placed the hare down, moving her head back to gently groom her red-dusted pelt. She mewed. "Thank you for watching for me. I'd hate to fight a bird for my prey!"

Heart walked up behind him with a small chuckle. "The water is so refreshing. The Tribe of Eternal Plenty is good to us." She purred, dipping her head. Slowly, sadly, she touched her nose tip to the water, breathing out gently over it and creating ripples.
Savage nodded. "It's my job, and I enjoy it." He said gruffly, swishing his tail briefly. His brown eyes flickered back and forth between the sky... and her.

"Flower, let's go." Ant told her before bolting in the cat's direction. He didn't recognize the cat, and he certainly didn't like outsiders.

Flower sprinted after Ant, her paws barely touching the sand beneath her as she flew after the tom cat. Although she was surprised he was being so direct and confronting the outsider, she didn't mind the turn their journey had taken.
Balsam jumped up form his crouch, feeling that it was a fight they wanted. Not eager to grant their wishes, he began to run away from the quickly approaching pair. He wasn't a coward! He just knew how to pick his battles. Unfortunately, the battle was gaining rather quickly on him.

"Sometimes I think I'd prefer your job to running around the desert with mine. I don't look at the sky as much as you do..." Rose admitted wistfully, eyes unashamed and trained directly on the larger tom. She smiled lightly. "But I'm rather small for your kind of job."

"Looking ahead is just as important as looking up." Savage pointed out wisely, smiling smally and allowing himself to look directly at her. Glancing back up at the sky, he added, "Size isn't everything," he looked back at her, "but it does help."

Finally the glimpse of orange and white fur was much closer. Before the wanderer could continue running, he hissed out. "Wanderer! This is tribe territory, what reason do you have to cross this path?"

Balsam slowed his pace, gently stopping, and turned to face the cats chasing him. "I apologize. I have ventured too far into your land. I shall be more careful next time." He chided himself, though his tone had a slight tinge of sarcasm, easily mistakable for mockery.

Wait. No. Ant definitely knew this cat. His thoughts went back to a moon ago, even if they had never been face to face, the scent that clung to Feather after she ran away was something that came immediately back to mind. Claws now unsheathed, Ant was visibly angry. "It was you! You were the one who did it to my sister!"

Balsam eyes the unsheathed claws wearily. "I know many sisters. You'll have to be more specific." He replied, stretching slightly to loosen his muscles, showing he wasn't afraid for the situation to escalate. He'd just rather it not.

This only angered Ant further. "Don't you dare start joking wanderer! My sister would still be happily doing her duties if it weren't for you!"

Balsam looked annoyed. "I don't appreciate being blamed for someone making their own mistakes." He retorted sharply, bristling slightly. "Now if you don't mind jogging my memory on who we are talking about, I would be happy to be on the same page as you."

"Feather made a bad choice, but you're just as much as fault too!" Ant blurted out, looking just seconds from attacking. "Don't remember back a moon? You certainly seem too busy!"

Balsam narrowed his eyes. "Listen, I never made her make any decisions. Just come to terms with the fact that you're smothering her." He barked, annoyed at this cat who showed up and suddenly spat accusations at him.
Flower jumped so she was between the toms. "Let's not let this escalate any further." She said sternly, her voice taking on a steely authoritarian edge.

"I protect her because we're all we've got!" Ant hissed, lashing his tail in annoyance at Flower. At this rate, he was definitely being loud enough to attract more attention. "I've been there for Feather since we were kits!"
(I'm pretty tired, I should call this a night)

"There's a clear difference between being there for and protecting someone, and controlling their life. You need to stop blaming me for offer your sister an escape from who doesn't know the difference." Balsam retorted, his voice raised slightly, but never too high.

Screech looked at her once she began to speak. He watched her in interest as she crouch by the water and made the ripples. He had noticed that rather sad look in her eyes and he flattened his ears a little. "Tribe of Eternal Plenty is very good to us," he gave a nod in agreement, before he moved to gently lap up the cold water. Once he was done he sat back up and then looked at her once more, his tail curling around his paws. "Is something wrong?" He asked quietly.

"Looking ahead is just as important as looking up." Savage pointed out wisely, smiling smally and allowing himself to look directly at her. Glancing back up at the sky, he added, "Size isn't everything," he looked back at her, "but it does help." "Yes, I suppose it does. I guess I can appreciate my small size to allow me speed. Pah. So dusty out here. My coat's already reddish, I don't need it more red." Rose joked, but scowled at the red dust on her soft pelt.

Heart pulled back from the water, sitting daintily. She wrapped her tail around her paws. "Nothing is wrong. Water just always reminds me of my daughter." She meowed softly, still staring out at the Lifepool.
"Dust is a part of Redlands. Just be glad your coat isn't white." Savage chuckled, brown eyes unusually bright as they scanned the sky. There was no sign of a lingering threat, just fluffy white clouds floating across the blue sky.

"My muzzle is white." Rose mewed sourly, though her voice was more teasing than anything. She glanced at Savage and purred. "You're a great guard. I feel safe knowing your eyes are watching the sky. You'd protect me if a bird tried to get me, hm?" She wondered.
